This time on P3R: ...it’s October 7th.
I finally got my aggressive dialogue option.
Before we start, I don’t know all of who’s reading these posts, obviously. (I’m guessing at least one person specifically though. ^_^) I can guess that most of you know P3 already. So you know what’s here, and you can probably tell that I’ve been talking around or not emphasizing some of the worst bits of this. Especially around Chidori.
That’s been for the benefit of people who may not know P3, or at the very least, know it mostly from my enthusiasm for Ryoji and/or reading just the opening of Hours. (I’m actually kind of entertained by the idea that there’s people who don’t know P3, who want to read my posts just to basically hear me tell them a story.)
But this next part has something that I cannot downplay. So, I will warn you when I get to it in this post, but we’re going to be confronting major topics of suicide. It does not happen, but it’s going to be talked about. So please mind yourselves if you’re reading along.
Anyway.
To start off with a lighter topic, I have saved all of the dorks who wandered into Tartarus, and have managed to get a solid chunk of money while doing so. After I sell all my bits and bobs, I should have at least 200K, which should keep me going for a while.
Fuuka also warned everyone not to drink the waterfalls in Tziah, which made me laugh for inside-joke reasons.
I find it funny and also kind of brilliant that whatever costume you're wearing is reflected in the menus. That’s a really nice detail.
(They could make however many variations of the menu, but not Hamu--) *shot*
Anyway, things are normal. We head back from Tartarus, sleep, head to school, clean up from the culture festival we didn’t have… Blech. I’m also off to the shops to upgrade my stuff with my new riches, so that means a chance to chat with the antique shop lady.
Seriously, who are you?? Are you a former Kirijo scientist?
Also, it’s good to see that my fave Escapade patron has recovered!
School is as nonsense as ever, as my math teacher is absent, so here’s Mr. Edogawa to ask more things about magic.
...are you SERIOUS. Max rank on BOTH and my academics STILL won’t level up???? My friend made a joke that Pharos is stealing my braincells, but honestly??? Maybe. If he’s taking half my braincells to recover his memories, maybe that’s why I never seem to get any smarter. X’D
I’m still working on social links and hangouts. Ken needs to go visit Sojiro in the future. He seems to have a serious appreciation for coffee. I’m sure Goro would take him to Leblanc. ^_^
Meanwhile, apparently you must be level 7 friends to be asked to join a cult.
I’m not giving you 132000 yen. I JUST stopped being broke. My soul will be fine.
At least Bebe is a lovely person to be around.
We also hang out with Shinji again, because apparently even with max courage, we still can’t finish the burger challenge. So I guess I have to max everything? Ugh. More fun to spend time learning to cook.
...hm. Oh dear. XD
It’s fine. The tempura turned out good, and Shinji tells me about how he learned to cook while working part-time at a restaurant. I’m kind of impressed how close I was on my Shinji characterization in Hours with just movie context.
I love him, and it’s killing me that I can’t social link enough to save him no matter what.
Time for school again, and Mr. Ono has finally reached the Sengoku Era. It’s time to talk about the era of the samurai. It gives me the option to sleep in class, but one, I need more academic points, and I can’t imagine sleeping through this guy’s first lecture on his favorite topic ever.

No, no, no. We’re not acknowledging this. We’re moving on. We’re still not smart enough to link with Mitsuru, but we can talk to Yukari now that we’re charismatic! Apparently she’s been waiting this long to apologize for some of the stuff she said on Yakushima. Which, it’s fine. We were all freaking out that night.
...she says “just kidding” after, but like… no she’s not. X’D
So one thing I’ve been missing is that apparently the console in the command room has been freaking out every month or so and recording video. I saw the first two of them because I was prompted to go look, but I haven’t looked since, and now there’s a bunch. One of each member of SEES, I think.
For a sec, I thought we were going to catch Pharos on camera, but no. Just Aigis sneaking into my room. XD I will say, though, that’s the night we supposedly went to Tartarus for Q. So now I’m wondering if it was a shared dream, and we were in meta-space only mentally.
That’s not out of the realm of possibility.
We’re never going to get answers, though, because Atlus gonna Atlus.
It’s definitely creepy that the dorm has cameras in everyone’s rooms. Mitsuru’s tape has her walking around in a towel. Like… Ikutsuki. Seriously. Dude.
I’ve also found my last social link that isn’t Mitsuru! It’s the Tower, a monk who hangs out in Escapade, believes that love and true friendship don’t exist, and is overall unpleasant to be around as he drinks and smokes.
No it’s not! I swear, all of my most unpleasant social links are the ones that are around when everyone else is busy. It’s like they know I don’t want to do them unless there’s no one else available. X’D
I sigh and carry on, because it’s time for the full moon! We’re off to Iwatodai Station to deal with the next two Arcana Shadows, Strength and Fortune. Shinji isn’t with us because he said he’d be late, and Ken isn’t with us because… he wasn’t in his room, and Junpei couldn’t find him. Which seems like something to be worried about, but we gotta deal with the shadows first.
Strength is very pretty, but it’s also shielding Fortune so that Fortune can keep doing its roulette wheel bullshit and throwing buffs and damage all over the place.
I got hit early on by “300 damage to everyone” and lost everyone but Minato, but I was able to recover, and it spent a lot of turns just causing everyone to have upgraded magic damage. Which I think benefited me more than them, because Minato was immune to wind, Yukari resists wind, and everyone else was trucking along admirably.
Strength was more of the tank, so once she went down, Fortune wasn’t too bad, despite another 300-damage spin. Shinji and Ken never showed up, though.
One, for fuck’s sake, at least wait until we’re safely home, Ikutsuki.
Two, the CHILD we are responsible for is MISSING. SIR.
Akihiko realizes it’s October 4th and runs off, and Mitsuru herds the rest of us back to the dorm.
And now.
This is your warning. The next part will discuss suicidal ideation and murder, so if you’d like to skip that, head to the next set of giant bold words and avert your eyes otherwise.
Right, okay. So now that we’re all on the same page, here we go.
Ken and Shinji are at Port Island Station, across the monorail.
Ken has called him here because he recognized Shinji as the reason that his mother is dead. He’s completely devoted his life to making sure that the person who killed her faces justice. And he’s here to take justice into his own hands.
The suffering that this kid has gone through… How much pain, for an eleven-year-old to consider killing himself? But he wants Shinji to die.
Cut to the rest of us, minus Akihiko, back at the dorm. It has finally dawned on Mitsuru what the significance of the date is, and she orders Fuuka to look for all three of them, urgently. Junpei asks what’s so important about today’s date, and Mitsuru reveals that it’s the day Ken’s mom died, two years ago. And that Shinjiro is the reason she’s dead.
They were hunting a rogue shadow in the city, and failed to account for civilians.
...why were Ken and his mom awake during the Dark Hour? Are we just not gonna mention that?
Either way, it was an accident, not a murder, but Ken thinks it was on purpose. And that’s horrible.
The rest of SEES heads for the station when Fuuka finds them, and we cut back to Ken and Shinji.
Shinji isn’t going to fight.
He tells Ken that the only reason not to do this is because taking a life will end up making Ken just like him. He tells Ken that what he did tore him up so badly that he left SEES and started taking suppressants. Ken, angry as hell, just thinks he’s begging for his life, but… He’s not. He doesn’t care about himself. He’s just worried about Ken.
Takaya shows up, because got forbid he not make things worse. He thinks Ken should go for it, because goading a child to commit murder is a great thing!
“Is it not permissible to kill those who are themselves killers?” NO. That just means you’re making more killers to replace them. The cycle of revenge is pointless. Not that Takaya cares, because he’s just going to kill Ken afterwards. He wants to get rid of us, since we keep destroying the shadows, but he calls it “salvation”.
Dude really has no qualms about killing a child.
Shinjiro, realizing that, gets between Ken and Takaya, and Takaya points out that Shinji is dying anyway from the suppressants. This upsets Ken.
The point is that you shouldn’t have been living solely for revenge. :/
Takaya points out that it shouldn’t matter whether he kills Ken or not.
So this kid has been living for two years just for the purpose of killing his mom’s killer and then himself. No wonder he doesn’t want to enjoy food or spend time with us in the dorm. No wonder he asked Minato to take care of Hamburger. He literally wasn’t planning to come back. He was just going to go off and die, and we wouldn’t have found either of them until it was too late.
We’re still almost too late.
But Shinji is not down for child murder and gets a fully-voiced “fuck”, because this situation deserves it.
And Takaya shoots him.
He asks, then, who our group’s navi is. Because we have to have someone as powerful or more powerful than Chidori, since we keep getting to the full moon shadows before Strega. And it’s clear that he wants to know so he can murder them, too. Shinji won’t answer, and Ken speaks up to claim that it’s him. That his navi abilities were the only reason they let a kid join them in the first place. Which isn’t a bad lie, but Ken…!
...he doesn't even try to get away from Takaya. Just shuts his eyes.
The gun goes off, but Shinji has forced himself up, and gets in the way again. He might have made it, but not with a second gunshot at point-blank range. And THAT’S when SEES arrives, and Takaya makes himself scarce. Because he’s too much of a coward to face us all at once. What, unwilling to try to gun down the whole group, you fucking bastard?

Everything fades to black as Ken screams.

It has been maybe seven hours since Shinjiro died, and we get a classic line that basically sums up how not-okay everyone in this game is.
Somehow, the school already knows. We have an assembly where the principal talks about the horrible sense of loss everyone feels because of this terrible tragedy. But the upperclassmen in the rows in front of us won’t stop muttering about how they didn’t even know an Aragaki was in their class, and how he was probably a delinquent, and how they heard he was shot in a senseless back-alley fight. They turn around to ask if we’d heard of him, but then decide nah, we were only second-years, of course we wouldn’t.
And FINALLY I get to say something rude.
Junpei follows to back me up immediately after, and we get scolded by the teacher. It’s not fair, but… There’s nothing we can do.
No one has seen Akihiko all day, but he shows up to the gym after everyone is gone to talk to Shinji. He… blames himself for this. He says he thought that if he was strong enough, he could protect everyone, the way he couldn’t protect his sister. But now Shinji is gone too.
He promises that from now on, he’s not just going to fight for the sake of getting stronger, and his persona evolves from Polydeuces to Caesar.
It makes sense, in a sad way, that he can’t be Pollux anymore when his brother Castor is gone.
Ow.
Mitsuru calls a meeting, because we have to decide what to do with Ken. But when she sends Aigis to fetch Ken from his room (on the second floor), he’s climbed out the window and is gone.
P3 really is just validating my Hours choices years later, because I had Mitsuru commenting about how they needed to put Goro on the third floor so he wouldn’t climb out a window. I genuinely didn’t realize that she had prior experience informing her decision. XDDDD
Anyway, Fuuka wants to go look for Ken, and Akihiko says we need to give him time. Personally, I’m with Fuuka, because I don’t think we should be letting a kid who is as… uh… emotionally unstable as Ken be on his own. Who knows what he’ll do in the state he’s in?
I can’t go hunting, though, and most of my social links are unavailable due to midterms in a week, so…
You know, I know the social links aren’t tied to main story progression, but dealing with this guy immediately after what happened just makes me angry. Fuck off, dude. Your cult is not saving anyone. Not you, not me, not my senpai who would have been INCREDIBLE to have as a brother. And you’re only doing this because you have to recruit someone for your bullshit.
After Suemitsu leaves, the guy whose son he scammed comes back, pointing him out to a thug that he apparently wants to beat him up. And honestly, if my option is to stop him from getting beaten up or not, I genuinely can’t say I will. I know he’s just an idiot teenager who got sucked into a cult, but I don’t like him.
There’s quite a few of my social links that are like “why am I spending time with this person still?” At least in P5 when people were tricky to link with, I still wanted to make an effort for the perks. (Not that there were any confidants in P5 I genuinely didn’t like. Not even Mishima.) But spending time with Tanaka, or Suemitsu, or Mutatsu? Why? Why keep coming back? :/
Akihiko finds Ken at Port Island Station, processing. Ken points out that his mom’s death was reported as a car accident, and no one ever knew the truth. And no one will know the truth about Shinjiro either.
Akihiko tells him that it’s his choice, but that if he wants to keep fighting, SEES will be there for him. And Ken decides that he’s going to keep going. His persona evolves from Nemesis to Kala-nemi, and he returns to the dorm, much to everyone’s relief.
The midnight hour strikes, and Pharos comes back to chat.
“You look a little tired.” No shit, honey. You’re waking me up at midnight.
We’ve been over this, it’s because you’re stealing my braincells.
We do get to tell him that we lost a friend. He says that he wouldn’t have understood that before, but he gets it now, because he has a friend. Grief and mourning in the face of death makes more sense now that he can fear losing someone.
Thanks, Pharos. You’re important to me, too. It’ll be okay. Just... stay with me. I can’t lose anyone else right now.

SK8 ~Golden Week: Showing Spain. PAERIA? PAELLA! ~ - 03/05/23 (May 3rd in Spain)
Ainosuke as promised day they celebrated his birthday (Sunday in Spain, during afternoon where in Japan it was May 1st) is showing a bit of Spain to everyone in Golden Week, and this was day 3.

Wednesday, May 3rd in Spain. After spending the first hours of morning and after Ainosuke had spoken by video call with his loved aunts, he went with Tadashi, Miya, Hiromi, Reki and Langa to do skateboarding, among other things, until lunch time, while Kojiro was in charge of helping in the surprise of today and Kaoru was sunbathing for a while with Carla and a drink.
Lunchtime was approaching and everyone returned to the vacation home.
The guests were arriving, among them José who entered the house following the smell, followed by his granddaughter Pilar. From where he stood told Kojiro that for not being from this country he had good hands for making Spanish food. Kojiro replied that it was thanks to him that he could now make the typical food of here, which, when guys left, he came to make the first one, offering Kojiro to make the second one, which, following José's indications, he has been making until now.
Reki: Joe, you are great!
Kojiro and José helped by Albert placed all the food between two tables, so that diners could take a plate. The food was starting from the right, Serrano Ham something very typical of the country along with cheese and olives, which were brought by Albert and Magdalena, all product of their farm. And finally; the leftmost; the star dish the famous and acclaimed by all the guys in the house, PAELLA! Or rather paellas, made by José and Kojiro, respectively.
Paco: As we say here: Bon Profit!*
Tadashi wanted to start with Serrano ham, but this dish came with cheese and olives.
Ainosuke started with paella.
Ainosuke: It smells so good, I'm not going to leave a single grain.
Kaoru: Let's see how good this Paeria is.
(Kaoru says Paeria because he says it in Japanese, パエリア)
Ainosuke: Don't you want cheese?
Kaoru: 💢
Hiromi also wanted to try Serrano ham, he thought it was a funny name.
Hiromi: Seraano hamu!

Pilar's brother and Paco's husband; Mario; wanted in his words "to eat a paella made by a Japanese Italian chef" which was how he started calling Kojiro.
Mario: Grandfa, hire the Italian for the restaurant, this paella is to die for!*
José: You want to retire me already?!*
Reki and Langa chose different dishes.
Langa: Spanish Ham and Spanish Cheese! 🤩
And Reki tried the paella, he didn't know if it was Kojiro's or José's, although what he did know was that it was delicious.
Reki: Koyomi, when you see this picture you will feel like eating Paeria. 🤭
Kojiro ate the paella that José made, and that explosion of flavors in his mouth was like magic. While he was tasting the paella dish, José sat next to him.
José: I congratulate you on your first paella, it's a dish that takes a little bit to get the hang of, but you came out very tasty. I can tell you have a Mediterranean soul inside you. Boy, if you run out of work over there, come to my restaurant, you have a permanent position as a first class Chef.*
On the other hand, Miya knew which paella to eat, he filled half of his dish with paella made by José and the other half with paella made by Kojiro.
Miya: I want to eat more paella another day, it's really good!
(He tried to say the word paella with a Spanish tone, as best as could).
It seems that Ainosuke is quite full, Mario, José and Carmen are eating Kojiro's paella.
Carmen: I'm going with the kids, let's see if they want something.*
And finally it's time to pick up the dishes.
When they finish picking up the dishes Carmen asks Kojiro; in Spanish; if they can take a photo together, and offers him her mobile. And Kojiro answers in Italian saying that they could take a photo together without any problem.
In the evening around the bonfire that Albert had lit at noon, some of them sat down, José included.
And while looking at a cloud of sugar, which looked a little burnt, Ainosuke said to all those who were seated:
Ainosuke: Tomorrow I will show you one more gastronomy, this time, a sweet. Although some of us already know this one.

So between P3P and P4G specifically, which one do ya prefer?
If it’s a question of just P3 vs P4? P4 no question. If it’s FeMC vs P4MC? Depends on what I’m feeling like tbh klsdjf;jf (aka which I’m playing and getting the biggest feels from).
But if it’s which is a better “enhanced ver”......well....
P3P no question.
P3P (and FES) Have been the only re-releases (of Hashino era games) I believe 100% do justice to the OG while adding onto new stuff (my imperfection gripes about P3 aside). Aigis' SL is great, fits really well, and in all honest it was a dumb decision it wasn't in the original to begin with. Metis is great, the absolute best thing to come out of the Answer, the best variation on a Positive Shadow (screw you Shadow Futaba you make no sense). The Answer itself I feel is very consistent with P3's Journey (right down to Yukari being a bitch and being forgiven for it no matter how horrible she is, not that's a positive but at least the game is consistent, and that’s what I’m looking at atm, P3P/FES are consistent with it’s new content in relation to the old content, aka it doesn’t feel out of place), and it's fun to see everyone's flashback and going through their grief. And Hamu? What can I say about Hamu. I love her. She both embodies the 0 fool and the fully actualized 22 Fool. You can play her similar to Minty or you can play her as his EXACT opposite. If he encompasses the theme of death, she's the theme of life (both P3 have life/death theme since they go hand in hand but some fans forget that). The butterfly effect is great, I love I can SL all my teammates, Rio/Saori's SLs are great. I'm happy you can save Shinji especially since it makes sense (out of all the fake out deaths in Persona games, it is the most realistic). She gives a new fresh take on P3 while still keeping it in line with the themes. (aka, it’s suppose to have differences but not stray to far, and it does just that).
P4G......................... has things I like. >_> I like the gameplay changes (tho I'm fine playing the original, it's not make or break for me). I like some of the new events, both story and side SL stuff. But I hate some of the new events, both story and side SL stuff. I don't really like Marie. I have a lot of mixed feelings on her. I don't mind her in spinoff titles, I don't mind her in general as a char.....but I hate what they gave me. For me to like Marie, she needs to 1) have more interaction outside her SL with the main team (it just feels like they should just suddenly care for her) 2) Not be the "good part of Izanami" (will get to that), but instead just have her be an avatar/henchmen of Iza, aka she's NOT Izanami-no-Mikoto, she's just Kusumi-no-Okami, 3) Tone down the tsundere ness (the P4G one, the over the top "you found my poem" kind? Mostly seen in PQ1/2? That's fine, I just find she can be a biiit mean in her SL tho.....like...her attitude in the SL, esp at the beginning always has me going “Ok so like....WHY should I hang out with you? You’re just being difficult, it’s not fun” and I don’t like that).
I really don’t like what they did with Izanami. Iza is not a bad person...god..des......or whatever. She was misguided, she wants the best for humanity but doesn’t know what the best way is so she makes her weird little experiment happen. But then Marie comes along and now SHE’S the one who want’s the best via protecting them, while Iza just grants wishes. And it feels like they took a character who was pure grey neutral, and turned them into the “evil/evil-shadow” side. For a character that was suppose to help explain Iza more, she just muddied it for her. The only real stuff we learn from Iza is Iza’s reaction to Marie, otherwise it’s mostly spent on Marie and this “Izanami-no-Mikoto” they’ve pulled out. I’d rather have a Gas Station Attendant SL to give me insight on Iza than Marie (Hell, I’d love a side with Iza ending! And it’d fit right in with P4, we could even have two variations, one where we lead the world to shadow ourselves and one where we become a minor god alongside her and let the human world live peacefully for a bit....until we decide to maybe do the experiment again). Even then, we could still have Marie be just a minor goddess separte from Iza, who is helping Iza (even if she has amnesia because she forgot why, possibly because she believed in Iza’s way until she went against it so Iza wiped her memory because she still needed her), and it’s because Iza wants to help humanity and grant their wish, but Iza’s not sure what that is so she concocted this WHOLE THING to do just that. Keeps it from coloring Iza as evil, AND it actually adds characterization to the Saragiri’s more (because if Marie was a follower/shoot off of Iza, that would explain why the Saragiri’s are with Iza......considering in mythos the Saragiri’s are like....Iza’s children....yeah 8U)! Basically, it adds to what is established rather than takes it away! (which is what FES/Portable did)
(tldr; the above paragraph: Izanami has her children helping her out because they align with her for one reason or another, no Avatars, no “we’re facets of just one being,” just one big family mess)
Anyway back to ranting, one last issue with Marie as Izanami, by the end she’s like “I’m Izanami-no-mikoto” but then just becomes the town’s minor goddess of Inaba and.......shouldn’t she be OP? It feels like they made this very complicated......and it shouldn’t be..... I wanna say I need to replay it but.....it gets convoluted ;w;
I also don’t like how the game fucks you over if you choose the very wholesome friend route with Marie (I really like her friend route a lot, she’s just so happy and it’s cute). And it really is a big spit in your face with your choices mattering.
There’s also the fact....that Marie feels like she’s suddenly more special than the other girls (with the whole her grabbing the MC and hugging him, and Rise getting jealous, and being forced to have a valentines day date with her)..... And that leaves a bad taste in my mouth with that sudden favortism. “But Silly they did that with Aigis.” But......it’s different (and not a “I like Aigis more” it’s different, but it’s “It’s executed differently”). 1) Aigis is integral to the story, AND it was established in the OG game (this is the biggest point), 2) Despite the romantic coding, we don’t actually get a chance to date her in the Vanilla version, and even when we do in FES/P3P we don’t get to have the bonus date afterwards other chars get. So you can give the MC SOME leeway that while he holds Aigis very dear, it’s still a platonic relationship on his end (or at least, they don’t get the time to explore a true romance because the SL is so late in the game and then they’re dead).
But the root of it is the first part....aka...........Aigis already existed, how the game treats Aigis IS the basis of P3. It’s not for P4. The diff is a new person suddenly comes in and is like “I’m more special than all of you!” and pushes the girls to the side....and that’s not cool to the OG stuff. It feels a bit insulting when the new stuff starts to shit on the old stuff by ramming it into it. And I think that might be why P4G/P5R have a few issues, it takes a wedge and tries to hammer it into a story that.....got through itself without the add ons (I’d say “fine”, but that’d be implying I think P5 is “fine”....P4 got through fine, P5 had a whole ton of issues and P5R did not fix them in the slightest.....really just “cutting the grass while the house is on fire” kinda deal there).
“Well P3 did just fine without the Answer or FeMC! Why do you consider it fine then?” Because The Answer was a sequel, it didn’t wedge itself into the original game. And P3P started the game over from scratch, you start from the beginning. Sure a lot of things weren’t changed *sobs* but the things that were, were not because it felt like the devs were pushing the new “better” thing in anyone’s face. But because it was a natural change that needed to be made thanks to the diff MC.
Basically, Hamu/Metis felt like it had a whole game/scenario catered to them and the rest of the cast. Marie feels like she’s on standby until her scenario shows up and changes things fast and drastically (Hamu’s was slowly throughout the course of the game, IF the big options were made, showcasing the butterfly effect), and anyone who isn’t the MC feels.....left by the wayside.

January 1st, Happy Birthday Pepper!
Pepper is one of the secondary characters with more prominence on the series overall. She is a domestic hamster that lives in Flower Ranch with her owner, Dylan. Dylan happens to be Kana’s cousin, so she visits him often and Oxnard and her are close friends. In fact, Oxnard is madly in love with her, and she is with him, to the point they marry in the main series finale!
Pepper was first introduced on Episode 37, “Oxnard’s Big Crush” (“Pepper is so lively!” in Japanese), but she has many more appearances through the series as I said.
Pepper is a tomboyish country girl that enjoys helping the other animals of the ranch and is seen being friends with some ducklings in later episodes, being their leader. She is a huge counterpart of Oxnard, as she has a lot of energy and is always voicing her mind.
Her Japanese name is Jajahamu, which comes from “Jajauma”, which can be translated literally as “spirited girl”, although originally it would be referred to a “unruly horse”. As a pun, they changed the “uma” part, which refers to a horse, to “hamu” which refers to a hamster, and hence, “unruly hamster” or “spirited hamster” is born. Pretty fitting for her, don’t you think?
Relationships
Pepper has only one love interest: Oxnard. And it is clearly shared, as they both marry in the series finale. Through the road, Pepper has been interested by Broski’s surfing, but not to the point of falling in love with him. Other than that, she has always being loyal to Oxnard, including her appearance on Ham-Ham Heartbreak.

Episode 37 - Oxnard’s Big Crush
This is the first episode in which we are introduced to Pepper. Hamtaro and Oxnard visit Pepper’s ranch and Oxnard requests Hamtaro help to confess his feelings.
Episode 42 - Welcome Pepper!
This time is the other way around, Pepper visits the Ham-Hams and is introduced to everyone. She gets to enjoy the Clubhouse and the Ham-Ham Park that Panda built.
Episode 53 – Pepper’s Visit!
In this episode during Tanabata Dylan took the wrong road and is lost, so Oxnard and the Ham-Hams go looking for her outside of town but Dylan and Pepper finally arrive at Kana’s house and then go walking around the town. Oxnard has to look for her all over town until they find each other again.
Episode 70 – The Baby Goat
In Pepper’s ranch, a goat is about to be born. Oxnard wants to impress Pepper, so he tries to help her in order to impress her.
Episode 110 - Stepping Ham-Hams
Oxnard wants to show Pepper that he can play the drums on the summer festival, so he asks Sabu to train him. However, Pepper is worried about the animals that are attending the festival as an attraction for the kids, and can’t pay attention to him!
Episode 119 - Oxnard’s Pure Heart
Pepper got sick with the flu, and Oxnard is determined to get to her and treat her! He knows that, if he delivers his very special seed to her and let her eat it, she will get better. So he sets on a trip to the Flower Ranch in order to heal his love.
Episode 138 - Pepper in Girl's Day
It is Girl’s Day, and the Ham-Hams visit Pepper in order to enjoy the day with her. Oxnard and Pepper end up being the Emperor and Empress!
Episode 179 – Run, Pepper!
Pepper is going to visit, so Oxnard gets some special seeds ready with Sabu’s help! But a small car accident prevents them from going! Pepper is settled to go visit Oxnard, so she goes out through the winter landscape to meet up with him!
Episode 242 - Nice To See You, Pepper!
Pepper visits the Ham-Hams at the Jewel House, but she has changed! The ducklings are also here, but they all seem to be more mischievous now! Will Oxnard be able to change her back to her usual self?
Episode 266 - Summer, Broski!
Pepper and the Ham-Hams visit the beach, and Oxnard is set to impress Pepper with his surfing skills! But Broski shows up and Pepper wants him to show her how to surf. Obviously, this doesn’t go well, and Pepper ends up in a big pinch when she falls into the water on top of a board!
Episode 285 – Oxnard and Pepper
It’s winter again! The Ham-Hams visit Pepper on Flower Ranch and they play snowboarding, but they find a missing baby deer, and lead it back to their family! Oxnard decides to stay by Pepper’s side at the ranch and will not be returning to the Clubhouse.
Episode 296 - Happy Ham-Ham Wedding
The final episode of the series. Oxnard and Pepper visit Kana back at her house, and they give Hamtaro, Boss and Bijou the big news: they are going to marry! A fitting ending to their love story.
Pepper is a very important character to the development of one of the main characters of the series, and I think we can all agree that his wedding was the icing on the cake that we could expect from this story!
As the first birthday of the year, we want to specially wish Pepper a Happy Birthday but also a Happy New Year!

This is my expression right now. I completely forgot about this scene. Although, it’s kinda... Fascinating how at the end of the episode Shima is the one interested in Aoike’s life while Ibuki just accepts it as it is. Or something like that...?
We can see a little bit more of their house! And apparently this scene was quite difficult for Asou-san (Kikyo). So many bloopers happened xD I want to seeee!~

I finally finished this episode! Geez! It took forever! I just... I procrastinate when I like something...
But what an episode! IT WAS SO GOOD! So well written! The actors were fantastic, specially Mimura Rie! Even the camera work was excellent! I don’t remember seeing anything new in this DC version besides half a second of Kikyo looking at Hamu-chan. Not gonna lie, I wanted more. But this means the episode was too perfect to cut!
Now... About Aoike’s story. I really like how it was written! She stared at her unlucky fate and she fought! And she won! Against all odds! Compared to the rest of her life, this is definitely a happy end for her! But... I wish she had gotten a happier ending...
Aoike reminds me of Ankh from Kamen Rider OOO, finally feeling satisfied, but only at the very end.
But here’s the thing. It didn’t have to be this way. And I’m not talking about the story Nogi wrote! That one is perfect! I’m talking about Aoike’s story, you know? If a tragic end was a happy end than the rest of her life was the problem...
“If you have time to think of a beautiful end, then live beautifully until the end“, said a shounen protagonist with a perm.
Aoike gave her very best. She wanted to live a beautiful and clean life! But she couldn’t. The gambling addiction, the huge debt... Everything orchestrated by those awful men. And even though she didn’t commit a serious crime her life after being arrested was awful. She was a good person with good intentions and a desire to live properly. But she didn’t have the income. She didn’t have the support like Hamu-chan has. Having a record stole any decent opportunity she could’ve had. The police failed her, and Kikyo is well aware of that.
And when someone was willing to listen to what she had to say... When Kikyo was finally made aware of the police force’s incompetence in that case in particular... Aoike was already out of reach.
But can you imagine? Aoike waking up in the hospital with Ibuki and Shima by her side, ready to listen to anything she had to say... And no handcuffs! Kikyo would personally take responsibility if anything were to happen but Aoike wouldn’t run. She would be too tired to even think about doing that. Of course, she committed a crime and she would pay for that. But with a good lawyer (yes, the cosplayer) and a decent deal her sentence wouldn’t be so bad. Plenty of people to justify in her favor after all. And maybe some time down the line she would do some community service at the local shelter (with a gps thingy if needed), teaching young girls how to knit. Selling her knitted animals and giving the money to charity. Making true friends, helping and receiving help, having the opportunity to be as happy as her heart desired...! Can you imagine...?
Yes, I wrote a huge fanfiction in my head. I’ll never properly write it tho...
I just... I love Aoike so much! ;^; I love this episode!

brown - i am very, very fond of the headcanon that i have for hamuko centered around how she values her teammates & views sees / her position within sees. hamuko is very selfless, but also quick to take on unnecessary burdens & guilt simply because she’s the leader of the team, and in her mind everything falls on to her. everyone is her responsibility, and if something bad happens, she’s messed up.
hamuko is very reliant on her teammates & friends though! realistically, she’s strong enough to hold her own in battle, but emotionally she’s very reliant on the idea of having the support of her friends. i’ve said ‘her friends are her power’ a few times, and like, i mean it!
also hamuko’s made friendship bracelets for everyone in sees! this includes koromaru :)
green - very far! hamuko’s a silent protagonist in canon, so in regards to that alone i’ve strayed very far from canon! she’s happy, upbeat, a clutz, and open to making friends! i do pull a lot from q2 in terms of her personality since it’s like, the only game where she’s not a silent protagonist! there’s also my main verse, where her & minato are siblings, and obviously that’s not canon at all lmao!! i love hamu a lot and i think her being kind of a blank canvas for me to really have fun with in terms of writing is why i was really drawn to her in the first place!
yuuga:
brown - these are smaller since sevens is still airing and some are more ‘theories’ than headcanons but,
i personally hc that yuuga lives in his research lab! i have 0 idea if or when we’ll get any context in regards to his familial situation, but this is yugioh so i wouldn’t be surprised if that was glossed over or he simply doesn’t have parents. (but there’s some concept art of his lab w/ a small bed it in if i’m remembering right, so?? i’m goin with that for now!).
i also hc that yuuga has adhd!!
green - i haven’t really strayed too far from canon, since there’s only three episodes of sevens out, and i’m pretty much making use of any information that’s thrown my way!! i have 0 idea what’ll happen in the future, but yuuga could easily wind up being more canon divergent! (my yuuga has freckles but also any muse i write gets freckles it’s just the law at this point asdfdkrjdj)

Court + Laura’s beautiful late summer wedding at Trail Creek Cabin in Sun Valley Idaho.
Court and Laura’s Trail Creek Wedding in Sun Valley was nothing short of amazing from their family and friends to all the talented vendors that came together for the two of them. The day was beautiful and warm, there was a slight haze in the sky and the smiles were abundant!
Their wedding day started off with the girls getting ready in the Clint Eastwood suite at the Sun Valley Lodge and the groom and groomsmen were getting ready in a house nearby. That’s one thing I love about weddings in Sun Valley, everyone is in such close proximity to each-other that I can easily go back and forth during the day to get photos of everything! After everyone was ready we made our way to the wedding at Trail Creek Cabin to start the photos. There are so many different spots on the Trail Creek Cabin Grounds to do photos with everyone, it’s by far one of my favorite venues!
Court and Laura did their first look as she walked down the aisle and the look on his face was just priceless, I love the look on a groom’s face when he sees his bride, in her wedding dress, on their wedding day. The ceremony was intimate and sweet and the slight breeze in the air made her veil flow just the right amount.
After the ceremony we took some time for Laura and Court to have a few minutes to soak it all in and grab some photos of the two of them. Court and Laura have this laid back energy that I admire so much and they are so comfortable with each other.
They spent the rest of the evening enjoying all the delicious food, drinks, desserts, funny toasts and dancing!
Thank you so much Laura + Court for choosing me to photograph your Sun Valley Wedding! You both are amazing and I wish you the all the happiness that life has to offer!

It’s been awhile happy white day!

Tagging: Tbh I don’t know how many of my Mutuals are into games so whoever wants to do it can just steal it from me.
HAMU(N). Instead of just leaving the .gifs there I’ll add a couple bullet points each to explain why do I like these games or whatever clarifications I need to do. Sometimes I like one only game and sometimes I like the entire series so there’s also that to clarify.
Also I’m not much into games anymore so don’t expect anything special from this list, neither for it to be a “ten games of all time” thing, that’s asking me for a lot.
While I like both games in the series, yes, I like the sequel a little bit more over the original, people can fight me over it.
Both games are good in their own ways, and also pretty flawed in their own ways, but this game has got what the prequel didn’t give me and also got me into making fan-content again so there’s that.
Also those two boys are my favorite superheroes in the game, I just can’t get enough of them.
Underrated series (this is going to happen a lot here) with a very passionate (yet unstable) fanbase that has been working on developing content for this games up to this day, honestly. The amount of OSTs and fangames (even if 75% of them have been cancelled/dropped by now) is very impressive for such a tiny community.
Although I must admit that the two (considered canon) fangames are my favorites when it comes to this series. I love listening to the OST of all of them, though, I’m doing it as we speak.
This (dead) series deserves way better than it ever got. The entire series is good, I played all the games I could get my hands on, yet the treatment it got from the company behind it should be considered to be a bloody sin, smh.
Also Shiftylook did a great work reviving this series a bit with the webcomic they made, but I will never get over the fact that the website closed and left the whole thing on a cliffhanger, you just can’t live happily if you are a fan of this series.
FunFact: My FC technically comes from this series, but he’s not a playable character in any of the games or even in the webcomic from Shiftylook (yes, they also made this one). He’s the protagonist of a crossover dating sim also made by Shiftylook, and also the representative of this series despite being an original character.
Play this games and/or check the webcomic tho’, they’re all very fun to play and pretty wacky story/lore-wise.
I suck at fighting games, a lot, I cannot even play this game properly, but even them I have owned this game and an arcade controller for it (if only my dinosaur of a computer could fully run it, I gave up on it a long while ago). The lore and story mode of each playable character is what got me into it and kept me coming back to it every time an update would come out.
I value this game soleily for its animation quality (each and every sprite of this game is hand-drawn, the backgrounds and background elements too) and character quality (the cast is small but they’re all very charismatic and different from each other.
This gem of here got me into the point-and-click genre. It’s another midly-underrated series outside it’s original german fanbase though.
If you people can stand black comedy and its morally-grey protagonist I would reccommend playing or watchign walkthough of this games, especially since the series is already complete and closed.

The game that inspired the creation of this fangame is a classic and cult-classic in the indie and RPGMaker community, but at least I was cable of completing that one.
This beast tho’, this game is so hecking huge I never managed to complete it without guides, another piece of proof of how certain game communities are so passionate they can create fangames as quality as the games that inspired them to do so.
Although I honestly like the main game and first two main fangames, it was hard picking between the three of them.
5th Gen is my favorite Gen, that’s all I can say, fight me for not even having 1st Gen in my top five if you wanna.
I know, I know, it’s not the second game of the sub-series, burn me at the stake, but this game has an amazing story too, and music, and pays homage to the previous games very nicely. If this turned out to be the last game of the series I would not complain knowing how did this game go down.
The hell was that plot twist tho’, I never got over that plot twist.

Hell, I’m going to break the rules of this Tag soleily for this game because it’s so criminally underrated outside its japanese fanbase it deserves more love than it gets.
You can play it on Android and iOS, give it a try, it’s cute, wholesome and sad, and it looks great for a puzzle game, also I cry tears of joy every single time I see somethign about it.

How does she compare to game!Yukari?
So this only goes for like the first stage play and game act 1 Yukari (pre-yakushima, basically up till Fuuka), because the first stage play covers about as much ground as the first movie (feels a lot faster tho, they cut a lot of stuff but it def is different and I like it considering how new it is). This is also Sakuya's side (I'm just beginning Kotone's side "Wait why'd you do the male first Silly??? You love the FeMC!" ..... reasons 030). Basically, if she changes in the later plays......well I'm unbeknownst to it atm.
Before we go into Yukari comparisons themselves, I want to say that the stage play changes SEES dynamic. They are friends. Not coworkers to friends, there is barely a coworker phase tbh. They came fast together, and decided "yeah we are friends" and.....yeah they have a funny dynamic (a lot of people feel different, but it's....nice in a way, it def addresses things I had issues with P3 so that's nice). Do I think Junpei/Sakuya are friends? Not really, or at the moment. Do I think they have the best chance of being portrayed as friends compared to the game/manga/movie? Yeah. But yeah that's very important in a big distinction between play and any other iteration (it'll play into the Mitsu/Fuuka portion at the VERY bottom).
So like I said (in my tags?) in the prev post, the only thing they get right about her char is 1) Her motivation: She joined SEES to learn about what happened to her dad, 2) Backstory: Her dad died and her mom dated around afterwards (which upset her, how it impacted her seems different tho).
G!Yukari (G=game, P=play) is....like a projector, she likes to project everything on everyone. MC? "We both have dead parents! Well I mean I have a dead dad, my mom's still alive-oh but she's a whore and we don't see each other, but that's totally the same right?" Mitsuru? "Oh yeah we both lost our dad I can relate! I mean you JUST lost him like what? About two weeks ago? And are still processing his death? While I've processed mine for the last 10 years AND I finally just got my closure and vindication? I mean I could use myself as a means to guide you, or I can just preach about whatever stage of grief your in and rush you through all the stages all while slapping you!" Aigis? "It's not that I can't move on from his death, it's that YOU (all) can't move on! Look I'm going forward! Hey who put this brick wall of jealousy in front of me? That's it I'm taking it out on you Aigis, I know I'm short sighted because of this and what I say should definitely do irreparable damage to my friendship with everyone but I don't care I'm a jerk!"
So yeah....she projects. Which would be a fine character flaw.....if she ever actually overcame it. :/
But back go G!Yukari vs P!Yukari. P!Yukari.... is a neurotic mess who is like a fumble away from a mental breakdown. I actually think P!Yukari is closer to a characterization of Maya or DramaCD/Game!Hamuko. A stepford smiler who is holding back a lot of pain. "Yukari has a lot of pain already!" No I mean, like Maya/Hamu, literal shaking, and thin smile holding back a mental break down as a flood gate of trauma is holding on my a crack. P!Yukari is NOT ok. And I kinda love it (I love break the cutie tropes).
Let's compare the "overshare my backstory scene".
Game!Yukari: *goes into speed detail on her past with her dead dad and whore of a mom*
MC: Ma’am I literally just woke up and already forgot your name cause I've barely known you for like 3 days and I've been in a coma for like a week according to you oh my god.
Yeah yeah we know the hospital scene. But there's set up needed for the Play. In the play.....things happen at a BREAK neck pace. Sakuya summons Thanatos, wakes up the same night (no hospital), the next day Mitsuru is like "Let's go to Tartarus" then it transitions into the Priestess Full Moon ("Woah hold on Silly, you just yeeted us like a month ahead" yeah I know-things move fast gotta keep up!), anyway full moon event ends and.....Yukari still can't summon her Persona. "Wait what?" Yes, this whole time she still hasn't summoned her Persona. Junpei is salty about the whole event still (he was reckless, Sakuya saved the day, Junny is pissy, same shit different day yadda yadda), he runs off and Aki follows after him. Yukari is half crying because again she can't summon her Persona, Mitty sees and runs (because.....she doesn't feel like she should be the one to support her/help her/lecture her cause of the whole father thing-but that's later and besides the point) so we are left with Yukari and Sakuya.
So she cries out in frustration wondering what she's doing wrong. Sakuya is just standing there minding his own business still. And then she notices he's still there, and quickly tries to cover up her frustration and puts on a smiley face, and compliments Sakuya about how he, Mitty and Aki are great at summoning. She mentions how she's not really on the team to "fight". Sakuya is "ah that so" *turns away* and then she asks about his dead parents and if they died in the accident all those years ago too. He's like "ya" and she's smiling but....it's not really a happy smile. It's a desperate smile and she "happily" exclaims "me too!" and then he turns around slightly to look at her before turning back. She starts to happily talk about her dad and the Kirijou incident. Basically, similar to her words in the hospital in the game (and probs later dialogue from SL/Yakushima) ....but the delivery is different. She's bubbly, then when she thinks about how the explosion killed her dad, she gets....a distant look and breaks a little, before quickly recovering and laughing and then moving on to her mom. She's happily talking about "Oh I was raised by my mom after that. She went a liiiiiiiitle crazy haha. Went through a few guys *counts quickly on hands* hahahahah It' was hard to watch haha as....her daughter.... But most importantly *starts to crack again* it was hard when she talked badly about dad. Because I believe in him!" and then she sings "Brand New Days" ("But isn't that a FES song?" shhhhhhhhh choices were made apparently).
P!Yukari def feels like she's at the end of her rope when she gives her backstory rather than projecting. Like she's giving a hail Mary to Sakuya for help. And she's not really an ass about it tbh, not like her Yakushima event. She only gets angry at Sakuya when he's dismissive towards her (in her most vulnerable moment so far). Unlike G!Yukari during Yakushima where.....iirc you only have positive things to say to her and she gets angry regardless of "You just have all the answers don't you????!!!" (she apologizes but still). (that being said, dunno what happens in the later plays tho)
Like listen, P!Yukari is not really Yukari (aka G!Yukari). As much as I hate G!Yukari, those are key parts of her char, those are her key flaws (and wait....I remember reading that if a chars have flaws that means they're good right?! which means you need to except their flaws right?! Or are people just trying to make it so we can't criticize Yukari? 8U she's good that she has flaws but no you can't bring them up nor criticize them? *puh puh* -_- sorry side vent), and by removing those flaws....you remove key aspects of Yukari. Love her, hate her. That's her. You file those off....you're either left with a store brand Yukari (oh god is that worse? *looks at manga* it's bad but a different kind D:) or a completely new entity.
"Ok Silly she doesn't project or get angry for no reason, surely there's more to Yukari than that-" She's not pissy towards Mitsuru "Wait what?" Her being snide about Mitsuru is not really a part of this (like G!Yukari is NOT comfortable around Mitty AT ALL, even if she doesn't directly blame Mitsuru she at least doesn't trust her). She's all like "Senpai!! *distressed*"(cause she needs saving a lot), she even flat out states in the end of the first play that she doesn't blame Mitsuru for what the Kirijou's did with her dad (and Mitsuru mentions how she knew Yukari only joined to learn about her dad, and Mitty wanted to protect Yuka to atone for her family's sins and yeah it's a bit of a Shinji/Ken dynamic).
And you know how Yukari really only got involved in finding Fuuka in the game because of the stupid ghost story. ".....yeah?" Yeah no, P!Yukari instantly clocks Fuuka being bullied and instantly befriends her and pulls her into a friendship with her, Junny and Sakuya (Sakuya seems the most receptive towards Fuuka in this). (is it cause this SEES is written to be more like friends than coworkers? Maybe I dunno).
These are key things G!Yukari Does. Not. Do in the games. Tbh I'm starting to think P!Yukari is what people (who like her) think they see when they see G!Yukari. They have fundamentally different flaws. It's like two writers were given a character background and a current situation, and told to write flaws relating to that background and how that relates to the char's situation now and they came up with completely different characters. Which is fine by me, I'm ready to adopt P!Yukari into the game. Now we just gotta find a Junpei replacement, I'm thinking P!Junpei too, but we'll have to see.
"Wait if P!Yukari is so different.....does that mean the other chars are too?!" Hahahaha ha haaaaa *happy sighs* yeah a little. Mitty/Aki feel more like if certain parts of their personality are enhanced and some are dehanced (like I can def see the core of their char more in them). Junny is more or less the same, his dynamic is just different with Sakuya. And Fuuka sure is there. Jk. Half Jk. I love Fuuka. Words are said, that def feel like they came from the game. I'm not sure if it's the same characterization tho. Those dissertations are for another time tho (not 2am on a work night 8U)

August 6th, Happy Birthday Hamtaro!
Hamtaro is our main protagonist of the show! Finally, it’s his time to shine!
Hamtaro is often referred to as a “golden hamster”, albeit his fur being cream-colored like pretty much all males in the series, and he sports an orange semi-circular stripe that runs around his forehead. He also has an orange spot in his butt and his back is orange up to the tail.
Hamtaro's personality is the embodiment of childish innocence, kindness and adventurous. He is also apparently oblivious to love matters, as he considers them “too complicated”. That, however, doesn't stop him from becoming a great friend to anyone that spends more than 2 minutes talking with him. Hamtaro likes to help his friends, and he is also a natural born leader, that all the Ham-Hams run to him to ask him for an opinion or decision on a subject. Hamtaro is also very dumb not only to love, but other stuff that should be quite obvious for many, but to be honest this is a common occurrence between all the Ham-Hams You could say many of them are just small furry 5 year olds though that might be a given due to the target audience. During the series he keeps growing up, if only subtle, and sometimes we can see an slightly annoyed or a blatantly angry Hamtaro, but these times are quite rare.
Hamtaro lives with his owner Laura Haruna, the human side protagonist of the series. He is a good friend to Brandy, the Haruna’s dog . The series starts when Hamtaro's family moves to a new town, and he goes out to explore. However, before that, he lived in Sumire Town together with Laura. Hamtaro is the only Ham-Ham of whom we know his parents are, more specifically his mother. He was born to Yuki, a white hamster that was a pet to a kindergarten in Sumire Town, which Laura attended.
However, and we won't go too deep on this, the Hamtaro manga originally gives a whole lot of different family trees for Hamtaro (there's 5 of them in different generations!).
Hamtaro's Japanese name is Hamutaro-kun, which it's pretty much a direct translation. The “taro” part is a common suffix for boys names. For example think of Momotaro (Peach Boy). Hence, Hamtaro's translated name would be “Hamster Boy”.
In the Japanese dub, Hamtaro finishes most of his sentences with “nanoda” or “noda”. This is just a cute addition to his speech, emphasizing his childish portrayal as it is mostly used by kids. He also refers to himself as “boku”, which is mostly a young boy’s way of saying “I” or “myself”. Compare to Boss’ “Ore-sama” which is more smug and thinks very highly of himself.
Hamtaro's birthday is once again another Goroawase pun. Same reason as Cappy is the fact that the words for 8 and 6 can be read as “Hamu” or Ham. According to some interviews from Ritsuko Kawai, Hamtaro’s creator, Hamtaro's original birthday date before the anime started was July 24th! (That might be why Prince Bo’s birthday is that specific date now.)
Relationships
Hamtaro is an involuntary stud. For a guy that literally has no interest on love, he has quite a bunch of ladies after him.
Bijou, naturally, is the main one. Albeit Hamtaro only sees her as his “best friend”, multiple media and merchandise like to picture the two together, sometimes even in clearly couple situations, for obvious reasons, as they're both the main characters of the series. They interact in pretty much any episode, and they even have a “date episode”. However, Hamtaro is too dense and never really officially reciprocates Bijou's feelings. This is the most supported pairing from the fans, but sadly the series never offers a proper conclusion. There is, however, the third movie, in which Hamtaro appears to be really focused on his task to “retrieve” Bijou from the pirate gang. This can be interpreted as he being jealous, or he just being his usual goofy self of “don't be mean to my friends”.
Sparkle comes a close second. Although she was very abrasive to the Ham-Hams at first, in later episodes she develops both a crush on Hamtaro and a rivalry for Bijou, which given her straight-forward and fighting nature, makes her a quite obvious contender for the hamster’s heart.
Continuing on, and to far less degree, we have a whole array of secondary hamsters that one way or another fall in love with the hamster, but we won't get on much detail:
Oshare, Bijou's French friend, apparently out of nowhere, develops a crush on Hamtaro that is not hard-pushed as she is only officially in love with him for one episode.
Lapis, although not ever really developed, is very close and friendly to Hamtaro, and that makes Sparkle put her under the radar of possible love rivals. The kiss she gives him in the cheek (which make him blush like crazy) doesn't help either.
Lazuli, Lapis' sister, also falls in the same category in early episodes, however she quickly leans towards Snoozer.
Barette, in her original episode, appears to be interested on Hamtaro, but that fades away later on.
Penelope, apparently, has a crush on Hamtaro, but we don't know if this is short lived or not. In the presentation audios and also in the Love Love Attack Plan song, as well as a bunch of episodes, it is implied that Penelope has a crush on Hamtaro. Given how easily she crushes on many other creatures, this might be just a phase.
And then, we have two other contestants, although these are up to debate as they were probably more meant as a joke than actual love interests:
Jingle, who apparently can't ever remember Hamtaro's name, is always around to offer his jammin’ support, and even take care of him when he was sick. He also pushes Hamtaro into becoming a wild hamster and travel with him a few times, so clearly has an interest in the golden boy.
Bo, who considers Hamtaro his best friend, clearly expects a lot from the boy and acts a little embarrassed and nervous about him. Their relation in the third OVA clearly shows there's something going on.
Now, although I have been pointing out that Hamtaro clearly has no interest in love, this has two exceptions. Both are exclusive for movies, so it is debatable whether we should consider them canon or not since Hamtaro acts pretty ‘non-canon’ in these movies to be honest.
First, and this one is also featured in the series, is Laura. Mainly in the first movie (but also in later episodes), Hamtaro develops a clear crush on Laura. And we're not talking innocent “I love my owner”, he really loves Laura romantically. The whole plot of the first movie is how he wants to spend Laura's birthday with her and he is sad and jealous when she goes out with her friends, but specially freaks out when Kana mentions Travis. In the anime he also worries when Laura tells him she is going out on a “date”, and he stalks her to see with whom. We can discuss if this is some kind of innocent love, but it is undoubtedly romantic love.
Lastly, we have Hamtaro's only love for a same species critter: Princess Cye-Ra. In the second movie, Hamtaro falls in love the very same moment he sees Cye-Ra in the flesh for the first time. This is painfully clear as he gets awe struck and then nervous and blushy around her. Later on he gets a kiss from her on the cheek, and he pretty much freaks out and ponders why his heart is beating so fast. Later on, Cye-ra reunites with her fiance, and Hamtaro is truly devastated. But, to date, this is the only time Hamtaro has truly loved someone.
Episodes
Now, since pretty much all Hamtaro episodes focus on the boy one way or another, we will only highlight a few.
Episode 1 – Hamtaro!
Naturally the first episode of the series is a very important one! Hamtaro gets to explore his new house and meets a few new friends!
Episode 24 – Hamtaro, please come home!
Hamtaro gets trapped in a box inside a truck that is going to some place far away! Laura and the Ham-Hams frantically look for him but will Hamtaro ever returned?
Episode 114 - Hamtaro, the Knight
A typhoon blocks Laura's parents from getting home, so Laura and Hamtaro spend a scary night alone. Hamtaro decides to act as a Knight and protect Laura!
Episode 135 – Hamtaro gets Cold
Hamtaro overhears Laura wrong and thinks she doesn't like him anymore, so he goes on a journey with Jingle. But he catches a cold, and Jingle has to take care of him!
Episode 251 – Oh no, Hamtaro!
Hamtaro is stuck at Mindy's house after playing, and he has to return, but Boss decides to pretend to be him so Laura doesn’t get worried!
Episode 271 - Hamha-Man the Justice Hero
Hamtaro dreams that he is a Hero of Justice and have superpowers! Who will he fight?
Movie 1: Adventures in Ham-Ham Land!
It’s Laura's birthday, and he prepares a lot of gifts for her! However, Laura leaves with her friends, which makes him really sad. And a bit angry when he learns that Travis is there too. Later, the Ham-Hams learn of Ham-Ham Land, when there's a magical seed that allows a hamster to speak the human language! Hamtaro wants to use it to wish Laura a Happy Birthday!
OVA 1: 3000 Hammy Steps on Search of Mommy
It is Hamtaro's birthday and he decides to go search for his mother! She is apparently in a far away place, but his friends are there to help! Meanwhile, the Ham-Hams that are left preparing his birthday party!
Hamtaro's birthday is a very special day for everyone! Happy birthday!

TRAVELER’S GUIDE TO OAKREACH; Compiled by Scribe Hastaen Yertbarn, map by Hamus Everbark of the Cartographers Guild Part I: A Brief History of Oakreach Because Duke Orsion thinks it wise for the Head Scholar of the College to create useless pamphlets that no sane traveler will ever spend the time to read, let us commence with this so I can get back to studying the properties of Yalisroot. Oakreach, known in the first Era as Merv, one of the Seven Kingdoms, was the second to be founded after Lotus in the First Times. King P’aan Gestromer, the great Ancient King, ascended to the throne, and consolidated the Four Tribes of Oak, villages that answered to the King but remained independent. During the peace of the first, Gestromer ordered the construction of the First Wall, long since crumbled, and purportedly built the Sorcine Stones, monolithic structures that were built to honor Navet. Towards the end of Gestromer’s long life, Emperor Jastal of Sasume rapidly transformed the impoverished villages into a unified clan, and swept up all of Co’ious in a bloody war. Oakreach fell to the Jastal Horde, and the frail Gestromer was killed, along with his bloodline. Merve was sacked, and the Horde ruled over the Tribes with great cruelty for seventy five years. The Citadel was built during this time. The Citadel is the second oldest structure in Oakreach. After the assassination of Jastal by his own guards, the Tribes engaged in a fierce civil war, eventually driving back the horde. The Tribes failed to establish a new seat of power, and, instead, fought each other in petty, bloody conflicts for a period of seventy years. Alixas Oakreach was born on the cusp of the second era to the Tribe of Reachen, fisherman who inhabited the district known as the Swift. Alixas, a fierce warrior, and thought to be the reincarnation of Gestromer, rose up to unify the Four Tribes and quickly ushered in a period of remarkable growth, establishing much of the infrastructure seen in the city today, including the Oakreach Palace, the current seat of the Provincial Government. Alixas died after a peculiarly long life and his bloodline continued to rule for over a thousand years. I could yabber on about the April Concordiate and the Federation of Imperial Trading but it’s almost lunch time and I promised myself I would have this pointless work done by noonday. Here’s a couple bullet points; *4000 Years Ago Hortius Oakreach represented Oakreach in the first Council of Kingdoms and voted to unify C’ouis into the Seven Kingdoms. 3500 Years ago; The First Seven shattered after the Rebellion of Harvisbor. The Oakreach family fled in exile. 3,000 Years ago: The Oakreach family came from Lotus with an army, killed the Harvisboars, and established power. 2,500 Years Ago: The Rat Plauge, spread by Ratfolk and Humans, infected Oakreach and killed a million, including all descendents of the Oakreach family, spare Vestus, who became King and ushered in the Great Tyranny Vestus’ son Hari thought he killed his father in in the Agathia Rebellion, unaware the Vestus the Terrible was a litch 2,300 Years ago: Surprise, Vestus the Litch King rises up again and pretty much kills everything 2,100 Years ago: Age of the Litch ends whens Vestus grows weary of his reign of terror and simply leaves Oakreach. He is rumoured to rule over the Litch Empire in Sanctum. 2,100 years ago: Complete anarchy. 2,000 Years ago: The Lotus Army captures the city and instills Councilman Emberais as the Provincial Governor 2,000-1,000 Years ago: Unremarkable Lotusian Age 300 Years ago: King Calliaq the Feeble loses a grasp on Oakreach and allows it to fall to the Oakreach Army, guerilla warriors said to descend from the Oak Guard 200 Years Ago: King Callaiaq dies, his son, King Sauren the Almighty and Ever Powerful ushers in the current Era of Complete Peace and Period of Elven Domination that I Love and Respect so Very Much. Oh, forgot to mention the Autumnwatch rebellion. (don’t edit this out, Valance.) Notable Sights in Oakreach; 1. The Main Gate/ Gate Fortfire. If you’re traveling by foot, or cart, you will pass through it. This ancient stone gate is the largest in the Elven World. 2. The Great Road: The main artery of traffic in Oakreach. Be careful crossing it; the carts don’t stop for pedestrians. Best to hire a carriage. 3. Yortusdale District; historically a district of merchants who sell provisions and supplies for the road. Winding, dense streets of markets give way to a district of upper class merchants and residents. 4. Upper Everdark; historic sight of the Redale Tribe, Upper everdark is notable for the ancient Mages Guild, and several large estates that pepper the neighborhood. 5. Middark; a well spaced district of the well-to-do. Notable for the Royal Theater, an ancient playhouse. 6. The Spirialias Towers; Two massive spires set dead center of the city. Historically, they were Chapels for Navet, but they have been repurposed as Gates, travel points. If you arrive in Oakreach by Rasidgates, this is where you will enter Customs. 7. Midriver: lower class residential neighborhood of labourers and fisherman. A few shops worth traveling to, but clutch your coin purse to you. Best to hire a guard if traveling through this place. 8. The Docks: the Main commercial docks of Oakreach, the docks receive and ship goods, and are the base for many large fishing operations in the cities, guilds that stretch back for thousands of years.No real reason to go here, but if you do, be sure to bring a guard. Very rough and tumble. Barkeeps have been known to sell newcomers shots of lamp oil. 9. Fort Everspire: Navy Base. Stay away. They won’t let you in. 10. Midlands: rich district full of shops and extravagant Inns. 11. Upperland/ Little Faunos: Historic farming villages, the Upperlands is populated by a large population of Fauns who have formed a vibrant artistic community in the city. If you visit in Spring, be sure to stay for the Wilds Celebration. 12. The Everforge: a huge Dwarven Forge built by Grig Drippon in the Second Era, the Everforge is the place to go if you are a sellsword seeking a new instrument of pain. 13. Hunter’s Glen: the historic site of the Boarstied Village, Hunters Glen is a longhouse situated on a protected patch of forest. Guided tours of the Glen are available for curious travelers. 14. Little Gorandere: the Orcish part of town. Don’t bother going here if you don’t wish to see brutish idiots stewing in their own juices. Editor’s note: for the love of god, edit this part out before you publish this. 15. The Twist: The upper crust of Oakreach. If you have the coin, feel free to stop in. 16. Little Tiberious: the Dwarven neighborhood. Great food and drink in these parts. 17. Custosdale: Tightly packed residential neighborhood. Lots of crime. Avoid. 18. Maven Shipping: the oldest company in Oakreach, Maven Shipping is a destination in itself; be sure to visit the Bestiary if you’re in the market for an exotic animal. 19. Darklit: Warehouses, street urchins, and crime syndicates. Watch out. 20. Floodlands: Impoverished neighborhood. Not much else to say. Don’t go here. 21. King’s Bridge: The Jewel of Oakreach, the bridge is a neighborhood in itself; a wide, magically lit bridge topped with a stacked neighborhood of arcane shops and schools of learning. 22. Ratland: Where the Rats live. 23. Garritstead: Where the humans live. 24. Crows Hill: Large Hill. Built upon the base is the Old Castle of Gestronmer. 25. Mage’s District: A village where esteemed mages reside. 26. Thanai: Historic village, seat of the Twin Temples of Navet. Most who live here are priests and clerics. 27. Sorcine Stones, monolithic structures built to honor Navet. 28. King’s Village: the seat of Power. A magnificent village of palaces that none of us are allowed to visit. 29. Fort Summter: protective forts to ward off invasions 30. Ruins: the site of the Ancient Kingdom, the ruins are crumbling towers and old stones. Infested with goblins. Very fascinating, but hire a guide. 31. Old Wall: built around the Royal District. Navet Damn it, what do I say about a wall? It’s old. It’s crumbling. How many more of these are left to do? 32. Outerlands: District of miscreants and the poor who live outside the walls. 33. Bellyred Farms: Farms. All backwash philistines. Where the hell is 34 on this map...oh, found it, Summervale, another district of poor souls who are damned to live outside the walls. Never been, heard it’s nice. 35. The Citadel, our massive monument to the God of War! Built in the Second Area, this massive fort is a training ground for the Seven Army and the home to some pretty fearsome clerics, the Dasingaurd. Now that my contractual obligation is complete, enjoy your time at Oakreach, traveler. Try not to get killed.
