Drawing hands is not something familiar to me. I still can't get the concepts out of my mind and apply them naturally like I do with bodies, heads, hair... it's still a challenge for me. Just like drawing feet. It's another hurdle.
But as any experienced artist says, it takes practice and study often, and over time you get used to it.
There's still a long way to go for me, but I'm satisfied with where I am today.
(Imagine these are Feanor's hands, if you'd like, in the boughs of peach-orchards of Aman, as of yet devoid of blood. For Nerdanel, perhaps, or a son still small. There is something tragically beautiful in the gentleness before the violence, that something so nurturing will twist and deform into something so devastating.)
