A piece representing queerness and our mutual bond throughout humanity, but also our survival, as seen through a Homo neanderthalensis skull and pegasus guardians. Like the inextricable DNA of the extinct human that remains within ours, LGBT+ people can never be extinguished, and will always be a part of us.
Currently available to view via my exhibition “Shifting Bodies” at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery until January 14th 2024.
video id: A video of two ceramic, white, horned pegasus flanking the sides of a dark, three walled vase with a white top and handles with chains attached to them. The unicorns also feature chains attached to their collars and illustrated pink pansies decorate their backsides, and are also present on the lower half of the vase. The front of the vase features a neanderthal skull and clovers. The remaining sides both feature a white rabbit, one surrounded by the moon and lavender, the other by the sun and green carnations.
these are the mugs that are gonna be available when my shop opens tonight! i may be retiring this form, (depending on how much i like the new one i've made) so it may be the last chance to get some of these shapes of cup from me!
[image descriptions: a green pinch pot with one side built out of "stones" of clay. Little black rat silhouettes creep along the side. One of their tails hangs onto one of the pot's feet.]
Hi everyone! Here is my first batch of mugs!! I'm so happy with the shape and color of these guys. Stay tuned for the other three - they are a light green.
might just keep it for myself for a little treat :-)
video description:
A small white, flat footed mug with a simply stylized, content red demon illustrated on the front. Its scruffy fur gives way to a spade tipped tail and goat horns. Pink stars encircle the rest of the mug and a peek of the buff speckled raw clay body outlines the illustrations in starburst shapes. Pink glaze with the occasional yellow tinge by the lip drips down from the inside rim of the form.
There’s a show coming up, and I think I’m going to be able to eke this thing out in time to enter it!
You can probably see some lighter spots of the red; that is from where I scratched some away in order to neaten up some lines. They should even out once fired.
Happy 1st Advent everyone! :]
