just finished breaking bad. thoughts (no spoilers):
1. i said it before but i like the many scenes of characters eating. it makes the time and people feel more real rather than when their world exists only while the camera is on, but it also makes me wonder what their shooting schedule was like and what the spit bucket situation was. lots of important daily elements of real life like the school/work-life balance, doing chores, other bodily functions (sleeping, bathroom, having non-superhuman lung capacity, getting sick, etc.) that make the characters and storytelling believable and mortal.
1a. shit made me HUNGRY though. ive had almost exclusively tex mex or egg and hashbrown breakfasts while watching
2. every single car screeches off no matter the scenario. after a while it developed a wilhelm scream effect and made me laugh
3. i would not be able to finish this show if not for jesse. according to my mom he was not supposed to be a permanent character but im glad they kept him in. jesse adds a really important and desperately needed element of humanity and “everyman”-ness. he’s not a savant, he doesn’t have a special gift, he’s a regular guy. shouldering that perspective of “ordinary person directly affected by walt’s actions” onto only skyler’s character would overload her already heavy role; jesse’s character balances things out by providing the audience a window into walt’s world as not only a regular person, but as an active participant. essentially skyler and jesse show two different kinds of “innocence” but remain organically three-dimensional and significant in their own way rather than being defined by their association to walt. their inclusion keeps the story from devolving into a series of guys in suits standing around glaring at each other and speaking in code, which otherwise veers into comic book territory imo.
3a. i fucking loved seeing jesse sporting south pole and volcom. i know tumblr kids are like “oh he wears baggy clothes because he’s trans” or whatever but you need to understand that in the mid 00s that was the absolute cishettiest way a guy could dress. it was the fashion equivalent to axe body spray. if you could even slightly make out the shape of a guy’s torso youd say he was “metrosexual”
4. it was very fun spotting the scenes in the remix. however knowing the original context of the samples definitely changes things lmfao. hank absolutely makes that musical ‘boing’ tone with his mouth and it is only pitch-shifted for the remix; it is captioned as “boom” but by no stretch of the imagination is that reflective of whatever it was he did with his vocal cords. the “you are not the guy” is spoken with near identical cadence and rhythm to the song which caught me so off guard, i could see why it was sampled
5. since i watched mostly with closed captioning, it also displayed song lyrics on screen which helped me better appreciate the songs’ pertinence to the scenes they play in
6. flip phones aside, what really drove home the “late 00s - early 10s” was the one time they played wobble-heavy dubstep while showing off the fancy cars. jesus christ
7. WHY SO MANY LAYERS OF CLOTHING. they will be in the middle of the new mexico desert under the blazing sun and still have a cardigan on
it’s well written and i dont really regret watching it but the suspense/crime/drama genre triad is definitely not my cup of tea. certainly a high quality show though especially in a time before streaming and cinematic-level miniseries were the norm, so i can see why it has such popularity and impact. anyway onto better call saul

[The transcript begins from a bedroom floor, clothes and drawers thrown around as someone can be seen trying to find something.]
?: god damnit where is it!
[Voice identified: Rose.]
R: damnit there isn't any fucking time
[Rose throws her mattress, tossing it in just a way nothing under it is visible. Eventually she grabs something as it rattles, before walking over and grabbing the phone. In her hand a small bag of bullets.]
R: Ness, Katherine, Jenny, Daff, Liam, Leon, Will… Dad. I'm sorry I have to do this… All of this is my fault.
[Rose opens a door and sprints out, a noticeable limp in her run. Passing someone as they snatch a set of keys out of the person's hand.]
?: Rose-
[Voice identified: Ness.]
[Before anymore words can be said Rose swings open the front door to the apartment, grabbing a bag on the way out.]
Ne: ROSE!
[Rose runs, almost tripping on the stairs before sticking her phone in her jacket pocket. And running once more, a second pair of footsteps close behind.]
Ne: ROSE STOP!
R: Ness I'm sorry…
[Rose turns, running into the open elevator. Closing the door before Ness can run in.]
R: Just need to get in…
[The elevator doors open and Rose sprints out to a van, hopping out and starting it. Speeding off before turning on the radio.]
Radio: She's a killer queen-
[Rose flips the radio. Another song.]
Radio: Two birds on a wire-
[Rose flips the radio again, this time a news broadcast.]
Radio: Breaking news: Local Lostfield resident Hank Frazier, husband of former school teacher Ruby Henderson, was found dead, officers say the only parts of his head they could find. Was crushed into the dirt.
[Rose turns off the radio, stopping the car.]
R: sparrow's dad…
[Rose hops out of the car and runs into the forest, passing multiple trees not saying a word, limping causing her to almost fall multiple times. This lasts for five minutes before she stops.]
R: This is where…
[Rose drops to the ground, before crying.]
R: I… I have to break this promise dad…
[Rose stands up, noticing something just barely out of frame walking over to it, A gun. she picks it up, the blood covered weapon almost falls out of her shaking hand before she stuffs it in her pocket and runs even more.]
R: Ok gotta get to the mall.
[Rose runs with a limp for 3 more minutes before reaching a building, she stops leaning against it for support.]
R: Gotta get in… find that window.
[Rose walks along the outside of the mall for 5 minutes before finding a window. The window looks as if it's been repaired at least a few times.]
R: Ok sparrow… I'm coming to get you.
[Rose takes multiple steps back before running and jumping through the window, the window shattering on impact as Rose falls with a thud.]
R: SON OF A BITCH!
[Rose sits up, a piece of glass sticking out of her torso.]
R: Get up rose… Fix your mess.
[Rose slowly stands up, when the camera finally fixes itself it's revealed to be a parking garage.]
R: To think… Last time I was here…
[Rose begins walking, slowly. Before a loud distorted mechanical scream is heard.]
R: F- fuck…
[Rose begins trying to run, but she can't. No words are said until Rose reaches a set of stairs, another scream.]
R: D- DAMNIT!
[By the time Rose reaches the top of the stairs, and walks through the mall, someone can be heard being chased. The same mechanical screaming is heard close to the running person.]
?: WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?
[Voice identified: Mari.]
R: W-
[Rose turns around, a person in a bloody t-shirt with muted red hair is seen carrying someone. Behind them is a 6 '11 creature made of wires and rotted flesh, two bright green lights shining from it's head.]
R: R- Ruby
M: R- ROSE! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE? UGH NO TIME SPARROW WENT TO THE BURGER KING I THINK!
[Rose starts running in the opposite direction of the screaming, it's a slow run. The monster can be heard turning gears seemingly scratching together.]
M: OH NO YOU DON'T! OVER HERE ASSHOLE! YOU WANT ME COME AND FUCKIN GET ME!
[The creature can be heard turning back around and chasing Mari as Rose runs.]
R: SPARROW! IT'S ROSE! ARE YOU OK!
[After repeating herself three times a child can be heard crying as well as the slight jingle of a music box, they seem to be calling out to someone.]
?: J- jenny… J- jenny i need you…
[Voice identified: Sparrow.]
R: Sparrow…
[Rose slowly walks into the restaurant, the crying getting louder.]
Sp: J- jenny please let that be y- you…
R: Kid it's-
[Before Rose can finish she's cut off by the child.]
Sp: YOU LIED TO ME! YOU AND EDGAR AND MARI AND WILL! YOU SAID MY MOM WAS ALIVE!
R: Kid…
Sp: YOU TOLD ME MY MOM WAS ALIVE AND I WOULD GET TO SEE HER!
[Sparrow throws a pocket knife at Rose, which she catches.]
R: I… I didn’t want to hurt you… None of us did..
Sp: My mom is dead… I don't want to see you! I want to see JENNY!
R: Sparrow… Please? You're stuck with me anyway.
Sp: I HATE YOU!
[Rose sits down on the floor, the music box can be heard playing 'My grandfather's clock'. Rose pulls three photos out of her pocket, and hands them to Sparrow.]
R: Those are photos of your mom… My sister.
Sp: Why… why are you doing this…
R: Because I promised to keep you safe.
[Neither person talks for 10 minutes, after a while Rose pulls her phone out of her pocket. Whispering.]
R: [Whispering.] Of fucking course you recorded… Of course.
[End transcript.]

My name is Walter Hartwell White. I live at 308 Negra Arroyo Lane, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87104. This is my confession. If you're watching this tape, I'm probably dead– murdered by my brother-in-law, Hank Schrader. Hank has been building a meth empire for over a year now, and using me as his chemist. Shortly after my 50th birthday, he asked that I use my chemistry knowledge to cook methamphetamine, which he would then sell using connections that he made through his career with the DEA. I was… astounded. I… I always thought Hank was a very moral man, and I was particularly vulnerable at the time – something he knew and took advantage of. I was reeling from a cancer diagnosis that was poised to bankrupt my family. Hank took me in on a ride-along and showed me just how much money even a small meth operation could make. And I was weak. I didn't want my family to go into financial ruin, so I agreed. Hank had a partner, a businessman named Gustavo Fring. Hank sold me into servitude to this man. And when I tried to quit, Fring threatened my family. I didn't know where to turn. Eventually, Hank and Fring had a falling-out. Things escalated. Fring was able to arrange – uh, I guess… I guess you call it a "hit" – on Hank, and failed, but Hank was seriously injured. And I wound up paying his medical bills, which amounted to a little over $177,000. Upon recovery, Hank was bent on revenge. Working with a man named Hector Salamanca, he plotted to kill Fring. The bomb that he used was built by me, and he gave me no option in it. I have often contemplated suicide, but I'm a coward. I wanted to go to the police, but I was frightened. Hank had risen to become the head of the Albuquerque DEA. To keep me in line, he took my children. For three months, he kept them. My wife had no idea of my criminal activities, and was horrified to learn what I had done. I was in hell. I hated myself for what I had brought upon my family. Recently, I tried once again to quit, and in response, he gave me this. [Walt points to the bruise on his face left by Hank in "Blood Money."] I can't take this anymore. I live in fear every day that Hank will kill me, or worse, hurt my family. All I could think to do was to make this video and hope that the world will finally see this man for what he really is.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.” SEQ. 75 - “INTRO TO BARRY” INT. BENSON HOUSE - DAY ANGLE ON: Sneakers on the ground. Camera PANS UP to reveal BARRY BENSON’S BEDROOM ANGLE ON: Barry’s hand flipping through different sweaters in his closet. BARRY Yellow black, yellow black, yellow black, yellow black, yellow black, yellow black...oohh, black and yellow... ANGLE ON: Barry wearing the sweater he picked, looking in the mirror. BARRY (CONT’D) Yeah, let’s shake it up a little. He picks the black and yellow one. He then goes to the sink, takes the top off a CONTAINER OF HONEY, and puts some honey into his hair. He squirts some in his mouth and gargles. Then he takes the lid off the bottle, and rolls some on like deodorant. CUT TO: INT. BENSON HOUSE KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS Barry’s mother, JANET BENSON, yells up at Barry. JANET BENSON Barry, breakfast is ready!

CALYPSO 🐚 ☕️
Part 1/3
Part 2/3:
“You call this shit an espresso machine?”
“I wouldn’t, but Fowler does. The department’s on a tight budget.”
“Hmmpff.”
Gavin watched Nines tinker with the cheap coffee maker in the break room. The whole thing was so absurd it felt like an out of body experience. He hadn’t had a partner in years and was now suddenly stuck with a military-grade android who bitterly resented every second spent by his side. It was also the first time he’d met someone as temperamental, as foul-mouthed and as coffee-loving as him.
Nines smacked the machine. It produced a pitiful whine and a stream of muddy brown liquid. Gavin cleared his throat.
“We should head to the scene now. Two victims in a warehouse. One human, one android. Battered beyond recognition. I’d go by myself but I need you to scan their identities for me.”
Nines turned around with disgust and something that looked a lot like fear written across his features.
“That sounds awful. Why would I want to come see such a thing?”
“It’s… your job…?”
“No. I’m not a detective. I’m a café owner. Markus and Connor might have forced me to sign a contract with the DPD but they can’t force me to do things I don’t want to.”
“And what am I supposed to do with an uncooperative partner?”
“That is not my problem.”
Gavin was stumped. He wasn’t used to people talking back to him, especially not civilians… not that Nines was really one any more.
“Come on, man. I don’t wanna tell on you. Let’s just make this work. Getting you in trouble is only gonna push you and all your fellow tincans into more hot water. Then you’d have lost your little café for nothing.”
Strangely, he found himself appealing to reason and logic. Nines’ aggressive demeanour was so similar to his own that Gavin had been forced to switch alignment entirely. His colleagues were pleasantly surprised by the change… though now there was a new rabid dog in the station they had to avoid angering.
“Fine. But tell me where exactly to scan. I don’t wanna be looking at those poor bastards any longer than I have to.
And don’t expect me to lick any blood like Connor the great. That’s fucking disgusting.”
“Of course.”
//
\\
“Oh god. Oh RA9. Oh my…”
Nines took a shaky sip of his blue latte and dropped the cup back onto its saucer. Ralph hovered anxiously above him.
“How on earth do you look at things like that everyday? You barely batted an eye. And they call us androids inhuman.”
“Fifteen years on the job will dull your senses.”
“When did you stop getting queasy?”
Gavin lifted his own cup to his lips, not answering until he finally got a taste of the specialty coffee Nines kept raving about. He sipped and sighed in satisfaction. Calypso was everything it was talked up by the press to be.
“Right after a triple homicide by this dude I went to school with. He grew up exactly the same way I did. He had a nice family, nice job. There was nothing wrong with him. He could have been me, I could have been him. But how did the universe decide who’d be the cop and who’d be the killer? No phcking clue. No rhyme or reason for the way things turned out. And that realisation chilled me to the phcking bone, dude. There’s things scarier than blood and guts and that’s the workings of our own minds.”
Nines considered that for a moment and shuddered. Ralph hastily walked away, muttering to himself.
“Ralph does not like these talks. Murders and killings and bloody, bloody things. It reminds Ralph of the old days.”
Gavin watched him retreat behind the store counter with a raised eyebrow.
“Where on earth did you find that specimen?”
“In a haunted house.”
Gavin blinked uncertainly, not sure if he was being serious. Nines barked a laugh.
“Both of us were living rough after the Revolution. He’d been squatting in different buildings since he deviated and I was one of the new units Connor brought onto the streets from Cyberlife Tower. Didn’t have any clothes on. Didn’t have anywhere to go. I just ducked into the first abandoned building I saw. Needless to say I got the scare of my life, just as the poster outside promised.”
Nines’ eyes flicked over fondly to Ralph. The WR600 was now dealing rather enthusiastically with a customer. Gavin followed Nines’ gaze, sipping the heavenly coffee while his perception of the world went through another sea change.
//
\\
“I’m proud of you, son. You didn’t want to join us at first but you went above and beyond for this mission.”
Captain Fowler pinned a medal of honour to the front of Nines’ dress uniform as the audience clapped. Nines inclined his head but remained expressionless. He glanced sideways and Gavin couldn’t help the smile that spread across his face, scarcely noticing the matching medal that joined the other ribbons and distinguished service awards on his chest.
Connor and Markus were waiting for them as they got off the stage. Nines shoved past both of them, ignoring Markus’ outstretched hand and the camera flashes from the media.
Irony of ironies, Gavin felt the need to save face. He stopped to shake hands and pose for pictures with the leader of Jericho and new Mayor of Detroit.
“He’s served well. He’s done his part. When can he go back to his little café?”
Markus smiled wistfully.
“Securing Nines’ public service was not just a bargaining chip in passing the Android Equality bill, Detective. It was a key instrument.”
“What do you mean?”
“We don’t just need to guarantee public safety from advanced androids, we need to recuperate the development costs. Cyberlife received countless government grants for RK R&D activities. I need to show tax payers that their money didn’t go down the drain.”
“What the hell kind of freedom is this?”
Markus dipped his head and Connor swiftly motioned for a journalist to join them.
//
\\
“Turn the car around! Turn the fuck around!”
“Okay okay! Hang on!”
Gavin was used to Nines’ temper but he was now seeing it accompanied by anxiety for the first time. His hands were splayed out across the dashboard and his eyes were as wide as dinner plates. The LED on his temple sparked red in between its rapid cycles of yellow.
Weaving expertly through the traffic, Gavin pulled up outside Calypso Café. Nines leapt out of the police car before it fully stopped.
Gavin saw the source of trouble instantly. Two burly men tossing chairs and kicking tables. A third was berating terrified patrons and a fourth jeered at Ralph, plucking at his apron and smacking his damaged cheek. Gavin knew that anti-android sentiment still simmered beneath the surface of their society, but it had been a while since he’d seen it rear its ugly head… and so violently at that.
Nines barged into his beloved café and bodily flung the men out. They flew through the air and hit the pavement as if they weighed nothing. Gavin watched with muted horror, realising why exactly anyone would want the government to keep an eye on the RK900.
There was a sickening crunch as Nines broke the nose of the man who’d been bullying Ralph. But it didn’t end there. He kicked him down the entrance steps and leapt onto the man’s torso, pummelling his brutish face into the concrete.
Gavin could barely hear himself yelling for Nines to stop above the cacophony of screams from the vicinity. Seconds flew by and spatters of blood turned into veritable rivulets running down the pavement.
Not daring to intervene physically, Gavin pulled out his service revolver.
“Nines, get off him! Nines, it’s not worth it! If you kill him, everything ends! Nines! Stop! I’ll shoot if you don’t let go! Don’t make me do this, man! Please!”
He counted down and cursed when Nines showed no indication of having heard him. He fired a warning shot. Then two more. And then he pointed his weapon directly at Nines.
One bullet to the android’s midsection.
A burst of blue.
A staticky cry of surprise.
And Nines dropped to the side.
The other aggressors scrambled to scrape their unconscious ringleader off the ground and hurried away. Gavin made no effort to stop them. He flipped Nines onto his back and looked into the angry blue eyes.
“Wipe all the security cameras on the street.”
“Already did.”
Ralph helped him carry Nines into the vandalised café. Gavin ripped open the stained shirt and felt up the chassis for the embedded bullet. He took the toolbox from Ralph and began to work, guided by a lifesaving instinct that somehow applied to androids too.
“I should have been there.”
“What?”
“Ralph. I should have been there with you. I’d have never let those bastards into the store. I’d have never let them put their hands on you.”
“Ralph is okay. Completely fine! There is no need to worry about Ralph. Ralph is worried about you. So much thirium…”
“This should have never happened. You were there for me when I didn’t even have a stitch of clothing on my chassis, but I abandoned you to run Calypso on your own. You could have gotten hurt badly today. I’m so sorry, Ralph.”
Gavin plucked the bullet out and began working to stem the flow of blue blood. His hands shook with empathetic rage, and Nines noticed.
//
\\
“I honestly think falling back on your core programming is the right thing to do. It’s the same thing as humans playing to their strengths. It doesn’t mean we’re still trapped by our software instructions. It doesn’t mean we’re not deviant. It just means that we’re choosing to do something we’re indisputably good at.”
Nines’ grip on his thirium beer was so tight that his knuckles had turned white. The synth skin was stretched to breaking point, exposing the plastic chassis beneath. Gavin swallowed uncomfortably. He found himself wishing that he was an android too and could telepathically ask Connor to shut the phck up.
As usual, he was the only one who noticed Nines’ tension. Hank and Fowler and all their other insensitive colleagues were nodding sagely at the bullshit the RK800 was spewing.
“I mean, sure, there’s plenty of androids who choose alternative career paths, but I think that’s just an unnecessary hill to climb. If you’re up for the challenge, go for it by all means, but why? It’s never made sense to me. I can’t imagine being anything other than a detective.”
Gavin’s eyes flitted between both ends of Hank’s backyard as if he were watching a tennis match. Connor continued to babble and Nines grip on his drink became increasingly vice-like.
Then there was a splintering sound.
A spray of blue beer.
A scatter of broken glass.
Time seemed to slow down as Nines pushed himself off the fence he was leaning on and made his way across the yard.
And then Gavin had a fleeting vision of Connor being tackled to the ground and having his jaw ripped off. He’d heard plenty about preconstructions but he’d never expected to have one himself as a human. Or was that just what they called a premonition?
Gavin moved quickly.
He actually ran.
He paid no heed to the irritated murmurs and cries of alarm.
He pushed a hapless colleague out of the way and inserted himself directly in Nines’ path…
deftly avoided the attempt to shove him aside…
wrapped his arms around Nines’ neck…
and kissed him.

Coco
The Beginning
Tumblr media
Hi everyone, this is a new story I’ve started. Please let me know what you think!
Coco walked into the clubhouse to find Angel and Gilly hovering behind EZ, all of them focused on the laptop screen on the table.
“‘Mano, write to her,” Angel pointed.
EZ shook his head, “She’s in for fraud, she’s looking for money.”
Angel shrugged, “She’s hot though.”
“¿Qué tal?” Coco asked as he moved to stand next to Gilly.
Angel glanced at him before looking back at the scrolling screen, “EZ wants a prison wife or a pen pal or something.”
EZ glanced over his shoulder at Coco, “I had a couple pen pals when I was locked up. It made the time go by. I decided to return the favor and write to a woman inmate. I think these two are trying to find girlfriends.”
Coco smiled, “What about you, Boy Scout? You looking for a girlfriend?”
EZ laughed, “Nah, man. I just wanna give someone a friend, you know?”
Coco nodded, “I get that.”
All four men focused on the screen as EZ scrolled. Coco felt his heart skip when a mug shot came on the screen. She looked a little younger than him, long disheveled hair hung over her shoulders. Her eyes were electric and she had a defiant smirk on her lips. Her cheek looked like it had blood smeared on it.
“That’s Coco as a woman,” Angel joked, “Remember when he flipped off the camera?”
“Nyx Flowers, age 27,” EZ read, “Charges are battery with serious bodily injury and possession with intent. Sentence is 3-5 years. Her bio says ‘My anger management therapist thinks I need to have outside contact. I’m bored as fuck and don’t get letters anyway,’” EZ looked over his shoulder, “She does kinda sound like you.”
Coco smiled distractedly, his eyes still on the picture. EZ watched him curiously for a moment. The Templo door slid open and Bishop walked out with Taza and Hank.
“What’s going on?” he eyed them suspiciously.
“The Prospect is getting a prison wife,” Angel grinned.
Bishop tilted his head in confusion and Gilly laughed, “He’s looking for a prison pen pal, jefe.”
“You’re all supposed to be on the yard right now,” Bishop reminded them.
Coco followed Angel and Gilly toward the door. He was about to step outside when his phone buzzed. He grabbed it, frowning when he saw EZ’s name. He opened the text to see Nyx’s name, inmate number and address. Coco turned to EZ, who grinned at him. Coco laughed softly and put his phone away, walking toward the service office.
~
Nyx,
Yo. My brother was looking through the pen pal site for someone to write and I noticed you. I know what it’s like not to have any letters come thru while being locked up. I also couldn’t let a beautiful woman smirking in her mugshot go without saying what’s up. I go by Coco. I’m 34, I’m a biker and I work at a scrapyard. I like tattoos, women and Harleys. Don’t feel like you gotta answer, I know this might be weird. Hit me back if you wanna.

Blackpink Reaction To Their S/O Surprising Them W/ Dyed Hair
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello, my lovely readers! Thank you guys for being patient with me on the requests, I really appreciate it. This is my first time writing a reaction, so let me know what you think. I hope you enjoy. Happy reading, everyone!
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Everything is under the cut :)
Jisoo
Tumblr media
"Say hello to everyone," Jisoo requests through the phone, looking back up to the screen in front of her with that signature smirk playing on her lips. As fate would have it, she was in the middle of doing a live when you called. The fans love you -- especially since you're so funny and chaotic when you're around -- so you're happy to greet them.
"Hi, Blinks! I'll be there in a few minutes with a special surprise."
Jisoo lets out a shocked noise at this, considering you hadn't told her about your plans.
"Oye! Hurry home so we can see it." She says excitedly, lightly bouncing up and down on the bed. With a smile that's evident in your voice, you tell her goodbye.
---
In one swift motion, you scoop up a cheery Dalgom in your arms, laughing at how he licks your cheeks in greeting.
"I love you, too, buddy."
After setting your bag down on the couch, you make your way to Jisoo's room. Little do you know, she has a surprise of her own in store.
"BOO!" She shouts, keeping her phone steady to capture your reaction to the scare. You tense up and shout, nearly dropping Dalgom in the process, but you recover after a moment. Both of you break out into a fit of giggles, and you look over at the computer on the bedside table to find the fans blowing up the chat. Jisoo wipes the tears of laughter from her eyes, and looks at you again; only now does she notice your new hair.
At first, she's speechless -- only capable of looking at you with hearts in her eyes. Eventually, though, she finds her voice again. "Y/N! Wow, it looks gorgeous!" She smiles, running her hand through the newly dyed locks. Her accent made the compliment even more special, and you don't even try to stop the grin that tugs at your lips.
---
Now seated on the bed with Jisoo beside you and Dalgom in your lap, you flip your hair around exaggeratedly as you show it to the audience. The positive comments roll in, and you take turns reading some of them out loud. From her position against the headboard, she can see the different hues of your hair shine and shimmer brightly in the gentle lamplight; she can't help but admire you.
After half an hour or so, she decides to end the live. You pull Dalgom into your arms again and smoosh your cheek up against Jisoo's, making sure to crowd in enough to fit into frame. Something must have gotten into her, because she leans around to press a lingering kiss to the corner of your lips, right in front of the camera. You can only imagine how much harder the fans are going to ship you now.
With a final wave and goodbye to everyone, she ends it. She wraps one arm around your back as her other comes to rest on your thigh, reaching up every now and then to pet Dalgom's head.
"I'm so happy you like it." You say after a few minutes, breaking the comfortable silence that had fallen over the room. She lifts her head from its place on your shoulder to look at you. "Of course I do, Y/N. Did you doubt that I would?"
"Not exactly… I was just afraid it might not turn out pretty. You know?" She nods in response, but her heart breaks a little: you have no idea how amazing you are.
"I understand, but you don't ever need to worry about that. Everything about you is beautiful because it's a part of you. You make everything pretty." She gushes, tracing little patterns on your hip.
You attempt to dismiss her words, throwing a hand into the air while making a little "pshh" sound, but she doesn't stand for it. "I mean it, Y/N. I'm not just saying that. I'm glad to call you mine; you're so special." Her words affect you more than you thought they would, and soon tears are blurring your vision. Who knew dying your hair could lead to all this?
"I don't know what I did to deserve you, Jisoo, but I love you so much. You always know what to say." And it's true -- she does. She knows you get insecure sometimes, and she's always there to reassure you of her feelings when you need it most.
"And I love you." She affirms, allowing her head to rest on your shoulder again now that you're happy.
Feeling left out, Dalgom lets out a little bark; he wants attention too. In an instant, the room is filled with kissy noises and the sound of your high pitched voices as you both talk to him and shower him with love.
Jennie
Tumblr media
"Jen, I'm home!" With a shrug of your shoulders, the warm material of your coat falls down your arms. As you hang it on the rack beside the door, a smile tugs at your lips; Jennie gave you that coat, and it's always done well in keeping you warm and comfortable when she can't be around to do so. You make a mental note to thank her properly.
With that, you amble into the kitchen.
"Yah, jagi! What took so long? I missed you." Jennie whines, her words slipping past the cute little pout that's surely adorning her face. She's preparing a snack at the counter, her back turned to you as she struggles to open the sauce jar.
"Here, let me help," you offer, approaching her.
As she hands you the container, she turns to look at you for the first time tonight. Her eyes widen as she does a double take at you. You don't notice, though -- your focus is elsewhere.
"Jisoo and I saw a new gaming store when we were out today and we decided to stop in. We didn't expect to be there for so long; we just got wrapped up." You tell her, answering her previous question as you finally manage to pop the lid open. Upon sliding the jar over to her and meeting her gaze, an instant blush begins to make its way to your cheeks. Her pupils are blown wide now, and her lips are pursed as she appreciates the sight of you. You never fail to send her heart wild.
"I'm convinced you can rock any color," she flirts, smiling widely at the reaction her words garner from you.
"Why don't you come a little closer and get a better look?" You ask, fighting the shyness that threatens to take over you. She quirks an eyebrow before sauntering over, swiftly moving to tangle her hands in your hair. "It suits you so well, babe." She compliments, toying with the soft strands that fall down into your face as you lean in closer to her. Her embrace is comforting, as always, and you sigh at the feeling of her fingers against your scalp. Before she can stop herself, Jennie leans forward and connects your lips in a sweet kiss. She tastes like fruit, and you can't get enough of the flavor. Working with a sneaking suspicion, you open your eyes and glance over at her work station. Now, with your fears confirmed, you abruptly pull away.
She groans at the loss of contact, but you're quick to speak up. "You made tanghulu without me?? Woooow, Jennie. I'm hurt." You tease, acting truly upset as you take a step away from her. She shakes her head, letting out a little chuckle; for a second, she worried you were upset about something serious.
"Shush, we can always make more."
You don't drop the act so easily, though, and the playful glint in her eye tells you that she's enjoying the banter.
"What else have you done without me today? If you watched that new drama without me then you're sleeping on the couch tonight." A guilty expression falls over her features, and she avoids your gaze.
"About that…" she starts, rubbing the back of her neck as a dry chuckle slips past her lips.
"JENNIE KIM!"
"I'm messing with you, babe. That would be treason." She pulls you into her arms again, raising a hand and giving you a sort of "scout's honor" gesture to prove that she isn't lying. After narrowing your eyes at her one last time to ensure she's being truthful, you give in and kiss her again.
"Fine. You'll just have to keep kissing me to make up for the tanghulu."
"Oh, really? I'll have to start making it without you more often, then." She laughs against your lips as you pinch her for that remark. Your mood brightens exponentially at the sound of her giggles, and you wrap your arms around her even tighter.
Rosé
Tumblr media
“I'm home, my love!" You shout, slipping your shoes off and setting them beside the door. A content sigh leaves your lips as you undo the top few buttons of your shirt, finally able to relax and see Rosé. Her excited footsteps carry out across the house as she makes her way downstairs, Hank following right along. You crouch down to pick him up, smiling at the precious way his ears bounce around as he runs into your arms.
"Oww, my heart," Rosie exclaims with a grin, holding her hand against her chest in mock pain. Nothing can compare to seeing her two loves so happy and carefree. She pads her way over to you, and you kiss the top of Hank's head before setting him on the ground. Her arms wrap around your waist, and you pull her in for a warm embrace; the two of you stand like that for a minute, swaying back and forth. Eventually she pulls back to press a kiss to your lips -- something she's been dying to do all day -- and she takes your hat off in order to run her hands through your hair.
"I missed you, babe." The words come out quietly, accompanied by a frown. You peck her lips again until her pout turns into a soft little smile, and rest your forehead against hers.
"Me too. But now I have the next 3 days off, and I'm all yours." Her eyes look into yours lovingly, but quickly shift to look at your newly exposed hair.
A sound of surprise stutters past her lips -- you've truly taken her breath away. She has a special twinkle in her eye as she looks at you, completely in love. Her fingers skim across your collarbone and neck as they move to play with your hair.
"It's beautiful, just like you." You tut at her and bring your hands up to cover your face, taking refuge behind them. She's quick to pull them away, though, pressing a kiss to your knuckles and wrists before interlocking your fingers.
"I mean it, Y/N. You're always so stunning." There's no denying the effect her words have on you; even after being together for as long as you have, her compliments never fail to set your heart aflame.
"How'd I get so lucky, huh?" You ask her as you let your hands settle on her hips. She's clad in a crop top and jeans, and the soft skin of her abdomen against your fingertips is a wonderful contrast to the rough material of her pants.
It's her turn to blush now. "I love you to the mountains and back and to the far far hills--" your giggles interrupt her recital, and she just laughs along with you. "I love you, too, Rose. So much." She presses another kiss to your cheek before leading you up the stairs and calling out for Hank to follow.
Lisa
Tumblr media
As you walk down the hallway of the dance studio, destination set on Lisa's rehearsal room, you can hear the strong beat of "Candy" by Doja Cat pulsing inside. A stray staff member passes by you, looking nearly entranced as you run a hand through your hair to readjust it and smile at her. She watches you walk away, incapable of taking her eyes off of you, and that simple act boosts your confidence tenfold. You had been a little nervous to see how people would react to your new look -- Lisa, in particular -- but all of the approval you've been receiving has eased your worries so far.
With one final, steadying breath, you release your fears and open the door.
Your girlfriend doesn't notice you come in at first, given that she's totally in her element, her body winding around as she performs the moves expertly. You lean against the doorframe now, taking in the beautiful sight. During one particular part of the song, she does a set of body rolls, putting the muscles of her abdomen on full display as she flexes them. The low lighting of the room sets the mood perfectly, creating just the right ambiance.
"Damn, baby. Am I crazy or are you somehow getting even better?" The words startle her ever so slightly, pulling her from the other world that she was just in. She glances at you from across the room, and a look of confusion crosses her face for a split second. After she registers that you're you and not some random staff member, her jaw drops to the floor.
Totally disregarding your previous question, she's quick to replace it with her own as she runs over to you. "Y/N! Oh my gosh, why didn't you tell me??" The words come out in a rush as she engulfs you in a tight embrace, and you snuggle into her warmth.
"I wanted to surprise you. I've been wanting to switch it up for a while, and somebody told me that this is your favorite color." You say, unwrapping one of your hands from her waist and bringing it up to toy with your hair. "Do you like it?" You ask, biting your lip as the nerves begin to creep back in momentarily. Lisa hasn't said anything yet -- she's just been studying your features with the hint of a smirk on her lips.
"No, I don't."
"Wha--"
"I love it, babe. You're so beautiful." She says as she rests her forehead against yours.
With a sigh, you nudge her playfully. "Hey, don't do that to me! I thought you didn't like it." You pout, avoiding her now incredulous gaze.
"Look at me." She commands, cupping your cheek gently as she lifts your head to face her. "Did you seriously think I wouldn't like it? You could be bald and I'd still be just as in love with you as ever. But that color looks absolutely gorgeous on you."
She always knows just what to say.
"I love you, dork." You grin, pressing a kiss against her soft lips.
"And I love you. Now, come dance with me." Her hands skim down your arms on their journey to your hands, and she interlocks your fingers. She walks backwards towards the middle of the room, doing a goofy little shimmy on the way. Her antics draw a giggle from you, and she reciprocates. Before long, the two of you are having a full on dance battle as another new song blasts through the speakers.

Charm~Rose
Summary: Valintines day dinner
Pariring: Rose x Fem!reader
Warning: gay shit?
Tumblr media
Your hand runs down your thighs, the roughness of your jeans, the smell of pork belly cooking mixing with the smell of veggies made you sigh as you turn back to the stove. Flipping the meat and just as you hear your front door open, the sound of a Hanks nails skidding across the floor of your apartment had a smile curling onto your lips. Suddenly arms were wrapping themselves around your waist. Her soft lips press against the base of your neck, fingers pressing into your stomach as you let out a giggle as she pulls you back to turn you around. Her brown eyes staring up at you, wonder filling them as your hands move and cup her jaw, bring her face up to your own, making her groan as she reaches up one her tippy toes to kiss you.
“Happy valentines day.”
“Happy belated birthday.” You both giggle, your words mixing perfectly with one another, though your face drops making her pout. “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to actually celebrate your birthday with you.” Your words were filled with sorrow as she shook her head, her arms moving around you, head falling against your shoulder as she tightened her fist around your shirt.
“I don’t care, I get to spend the rest of the week here, just the two of us.” Just as she finishes, Hank lets out a whine making you giggle as she pulls back and bends down. “And our son, how could I forget him.” She giggles as you reach forwards and scratch his head making his tail wag, his face moving to get closer to you but staying close to Rose.
“So rude.” You mumble, making Rose chuckle as she moves to place him down as you move back to the food, turning the stove off as she nudges your shoulder.
“Smells good.”
“Better.” You mumble making her smile brightly as she moves around to help set the bar sitting area for the two of you to eat, as you move to place food down Hank dancing around your feet you couldn’t help but notice the bags, attached to large pink balloons making you freeze. “Rose..we said no big gifts.”
“Hey I can’t help spoiling my girl.”
“But I don’t make muh-”
“Sit and feed me. Then we’ll do gifts, and cuddle while watching movies and maybe we’ll make out.” Sighing you move to sit next to her, body slouching with a pout as she moves and places her hand onto your thigh. “Baby, seriously I couldn’t stop myself. So you can’t get upset, now feed meee.” She had a smile playing on her face as you sigh, grabbing your chopstick, picking up some of the food and shoveling it into her mouth making her smile grow as she chews. Her eyes shining with joy, love as her fingers drummed against your thigh you smile growing.
“So what did you get me?” You asked after a couple moments of silence between the two of you, her smile grew as she got off her seat and skipped to the bag, twilling to you as she placed it on your lap. A giggle passing your lips as she moved to sit again nodding for you to open the bag as you sigh, as you do you shake your head. Pulling out a Louis Vuitton box, your eyes filling with tears as you shake your head.
“Hey, Y/n stopthoese tears you haven’t even gotten to the good one yet and open it.” sighing you do just that, a matching minnie backpack that she has in it.
“Rose.”
“We can match now, and and I got you something else to look in the bag.”  Sighing you unclip the topen open there was a box, pulling it out she moves to place the backpack and box onto the ground, eyes moving right back to you. Sighing as you opened it slowly, there laid what you assumed was a white gold charm bracelet, a Rose charm along with music notes, guitar and a keyboard as well as a cursive ‘R’ , just the image of every charm representing moments some of your favorites with her spilling through your mind that had your tears filling your eyes as she held her wrist out to you. There your first initial sat, alone with music notes, a gardenia flower, a paint brush and a camera. It had you launching yourself into her making her laugh as she nuzzles herself into you. “Though these charms aren’t you, they’ll remind myself who I have back home. Who loves me. A girl who loves music just as much as me, who is abusest with art and art history, heck you talked my ear off on our first date about the art in a musume and how you want to see the Louvre before you turn thirty. And how the love of my life is photography, and we met on a set when she was an intern for an ass.” Giggling you pull back, rubbing your nose against hers she cups your cheeks and presses her lips to yours.
“Yeah? And my charms?”
“The time where I taught you to play the piano, how it took you hours just to string together the keys to twinkle twinkle little star..and the gituare is for the mornings where you wake up to me playing in just your old sweatshirt playing mine. You said those morning were you favorite..I can always get other charm for you if yo-” rolling your eyes playfully you push your lips to hers, hands sliding down her waist to her thighs lifting her making her legs wrap themselves around her waist making her gasp as she pulls away for a breath.
“Shut up.” You mumble making her giggle, her blonde hair falling over her shoulder as her forehead pressed against yours, her lip rolling between her teeth as she looked down at you.
“No whats my gift.”
“It’s in the bedroom.”

Chapter Three: What the Hell Happened to Him?
Hank put his head down, "Told you there was no ‘Professor’ here," he remarked with a shrug, starting to clean up a table that was covered in things.
"What the hell happened to him?" Logan asked, shocked to see his old mentor in such a state.
Hank stood in silence for a moment deliberating whether he should explain or not. With a sigh he placed a bottle down and looked at the desk below him.
"He lost everything. Raven, Erik, his legs..." Hank trailed off, thinking of someone else that he lost, but he decided it was best not to mention it. "He built the school, the labs...this whole place," he continued, pouring himself a drink. "Then, just after the first semester, the war in Vietnam got worse. Many of the teachers and older students were drafted...and it broke him. He retreated into himself, I...I wanted to help do something so I designed a serum that treated his spine. Derived from the second formula, that was for me, that controls my mutation. I take just enough to keep myself balanced but...he takes too much. I tried easing him back but he just couldn't take the pain, the voices. The treatment gives him his legs but its not enough...he's just lost too much," Hank looked back up at Logan, and smiled distantly before taking a sip from his glass.
Upstairs, Charles was pouring himself a drink, in an attempt to forget the memories he didn't wish to think of. As he downed a good portion of the alcohol, suddenly, it all came rushing back, the buzzing of hushed tones he so terribly wanted to push away was beginning to torment him.
Charles' arm immediately shot out to reach for a cloth to wrap around his arm. After struggling briefly to tie it around his arm, he pulled it tight with his teeth as his hand shakily reached out to a small table where a syringe and a small vial rested upon. Charles grabbed the needle and the vial of serum before filling the needle with liquid and pressed it into his skin, letting the solution take its effects.
He laid back in his chair and looked over to his nightstand, but he had to look past the countless bottles to see it. There under the only source of light in the dark, musky room was a small, untouched framed photo of Raven. The Raven he knew. The memory of when they first met had rolled through his mind. His mind then drifted to Erik and how he stole Raven from his life. He stole Raven, made her into a completely different person.
But Erik also gave him Claudia. Charles would have probably never met her if it weren't for Erik's vendetta against Sebastian Shaw. But alas she was another loss. Charles remembered the shine in her eyes, the way her lips curved when she smiled, and how strong she seemed the way she carried herself. She was a friend to everyone she met.
Charles closed his eyes tightly, fighting back the tears and the memories of the two people he loved most. Raven and Claudia. He knew he couldn't save Raven on that beach in Cuba, but Claudia, she could've stayed.
Back downstairs, Logan couldn't but feel that Charles and Hank were tiptoeing around someone and he didn't understand why. Logan glanced down at Charles' desk noticing something that he hadn't before. A picture frame lying face down on the desk, reaching his hand out Logan grabbed the silver frame and flipped it to face him. In the picture was a young, African-American woman who couldn't have been no older than twenty-four.
She had neck length black hair that was styled in a windblown look, her bangs parted to the side. She was looking back at the camera with a wide grin, holding an ornament as she decorated a Christmas tree that was in the picture as well. The Charles he knew mentioned a woman he knew long ago before Logan made this journey, a woman who Charles cared for deeply. Claudia. That was the woman's name if Logan remembered correctly, he wondered if they were one and the same.
"So, this is Claudia," Logan commented, looking up from the picture. Hank froze. He hadn't heard that name spoken aloud in years. By the looks of Hank's expression and his reaction, Logan's suspicions were confirmed. "Heh, I didn't know the professor liked them young," he quipped, a soft chuckle escaping him.
Hank snatched the frame away from Logan.,"God, It wasn't like that," he stated, rolling his eyes. "Yes, there was an age gap, but they were very much in love with each other," Hank explained, looking down at the photo briefly and sighing. "They truly made each other happy," he added softly, before placing the photo face down on the desk again.
"What happened between them?"
"Remember that depression I told you that Charles fell into?" Hank asked, resuming his cleaning.
"Yeah,"
"Claudia was there, she was there for all of it. She tried to stick by him, she really did, but she just couldn't take it anymore," Hank paused, as he exchanged a brief look with Logan. "They fought a lot, she was sick of Charles' behavior of being a drunkard. She was tired of feeling more like a maid to Charles than the woman he claimed to love. And well Charles, one moment he's the loving man Claudia fell in love with and in the next he's a mean drunk," Hank explained, picking up empty bottles. "As tough as a woman Claudia is, I knew that some of the things that Charles said got under her skin. She was miserable here, but it all came to a tipping point in 1967," Hank continued, throwing the bottles into a trash bin.
"She left him, didn't she?"
"Yes, by the end of '67 she was gone," Hank answered, shoving his hands into his pockets. "The night she had left, it felt strangely peaceful. The atmosphere in the mansion didn't feel so heavy. That was until I heard Charles' bedroom door slam open and the both of them shouting. Claudia was done, she was over it. She told Charles that she couldn't keep pretending that they were this happy couple, so for her own sake she was leaving him. She said, if he wanted to remain on his path to self-destruction then be her guest, but she wasn't going to be apart of it. She wasted years of her life trying to help a man who doesn't want it," he recalled, shaking his head as he leaned against the desk in behind of him.
Logan frowned, "And how did Charles take that?" he questioned, feeling like he already knew the answer.
"Not well, not well at all," Hank replied, shaking his head again. "He said some pretty hurtful things to her. He told her to go ahead and leave, he didn't need her. Charles called Claudia a 'useless woman' and claimed that maybe he'd be happier if she wasn't here. I...I’ve never seen Claudia look so hurt, so betrayed in all the years I've known her," Hank looked down sadly, now crossing his arms against his chest. "She actually began to tear up and responded quietly saying 'that makes two of us' before she reached down to her finger and slid off her ring and threw it at Charles," Hank sighed, his mind replaying that night.
"Claudia, Claudia, wait! Please, Claudia, just slow down! Please, just listen-" Hank begged.
"Wait! Charles and Claudia were married?" Logan asked, his eyes almost bulging out of his skull.
"No, just engaged," Hank explained. "They dated for three years, and then Charles proposed to her in '66. As you can tell now, it didn't work out," he sighed, shaking his head slightly. "The last thing Claudia said when she left the mansion was 'this whole thing was a mistake'," Hank added, with a frown as he folded his arms against his chest.
Logan sighed looking at Hank and shook his head. He was sent here for a reason, and now he can't seem to get the job done. He was risking many people's lives if he didn't change this now.
"I'll help you get her," he heard a voice from behind. He smirked and turned around, "Not for any of your future shite, but for her," Charles announced, coming down the stairs.
Logan mused over this and nodded, "Fair enough," he agreed.
"But I'll tell you this. You don't know Erik. That man is a monster. A murderer. You think you can convince Raven to change?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. "To come home? That's splendid. But what makes you think you can change him?" Charles questioned, his tone growing bitter.
"Because you and Erik sent me back here together," Charles stared at him, surprised at the unexpected words. Logan scratched the back of his head, before crossing his arms together. "You are not going to like this, but you told me, practically begged me to get Claudia as well," Logan added, waiting for Charles' reaction.
He scoffed and shook his head, "That, I cannot do,"
That was a pain he had buried away and didn't wish to dredge back up anytime soon, he felt the same for Raven and that old wound was most definitely raw now. He had managed to control his emotions now whenever Raven was mentioned, to a point. But Claudia? That was something else entirely. She was his first love, the woman he wanted to marry, the woman he almost married.
"Charles, listen to me," Logan told him, looking down. "You are going to regret this just as you did when you told me to get her. If you want to save her, this is your only chance,"
Hank frowned at his words and Charles' angry expression dropped, forming into a sad and confused expression.
"Save her?" Hank asked, asking what Charles was not able to.
Logan nodded turning to look at him, "Claudia didn't make it, she's dead," he informed, shaking his head.
"Dead?" Charles repeated, sounding suddenly breathless from this revelation.
Charles clutched at his chest and inhaled deeply, suddenly not feeling too well. Like the world around him was spinning and he was stationary, Charles closed his eyes, guilt swarming inside him.
"Claudia is dead because of me,"

UIC. They’re saying they knew the car
was hot, but they bought it from a black
male for 500 and were gonna use it for a
couple days to do some stickups and
                                            then dump it.
Man 3: [groaning]
Officer (Nicole Sermons): He resisted.
Man 3: She kicked me in the balls.
Antonio Dawson: Cry me a river!
Officer (Jim Barnes): They’re denying any involvement in the clinic.
There’s no arson or bodily harm on either of
                                    their records.
Antonio Dawson: Who’s the brains of the outfit?
Officer (Jim Barnes): That guy.
Antonio Dawson: Bring him over here!
Who’d you buy the car from?
Man 2: Black dude named Shorty.
Hank Voight: Oh. Shorty.
Man 2: Shorty.
Antonio Dawson: Get him outta here.
Officer (Jim Barnes): Come on.
Detective (Julia Willhite): [exhales]
                                   [knocking on body of car]
Tumblr media
Detective (Julia Willhite): Looks like a lot of cars we’d find in
Narcotics. Generic dummy plates. A lot
of ‘em have traps built in to move the
                                          dope and cash.
                                          Okay.
                                          There we go.
                                          [sighs]
Matt Casey: So what does this mean? Who are we looking for?
Detective (Julia Willhite): Someone who was moving major
                                           dope.
                                           - title screen -
Leslie Shay: Hey. Hey.
Kelly Severide: Hey.
Leslie Shay: Um, on the heels of all this, I was thinking that, you
know, God forbids something were to happen to
either one of us, that maybe we should have
something written up legally in terms of who would
                     take care of the baby.
Kelly Severide: Absolutely.
Leslie Shay: And speaking of, we go in tomorrow.
Chief Boden: Casey’s heading back down to the fire scene with the
                       detectives.
Tumblr media
Kelly Severide: I’m coming. And I’ll… I’ll be there.
Leslie Shay: Yeah.
                                             cutscene
Gabby Dawson: That’s so nice of you. Thank you. Bye.
The Optical shop on the corner is gonna donate a
couple pairs of sunglasses to raffle off.
Otis Zvonecek: Great. As soon as Zoya starts, she can help go
                           collect all this stuff.
Christopher Herrmann: Who?
Otis Zvonecek: Uh, my cousin. From Russia? Zoya?
                           We talked about this.
Christopher Herrmann: When?
Otis Zvonecek: At the soft opening?
Christopher Herrmann: What? When I got like six beers in me?
Otis Zvonecek: Hey, you signed off, dude.
Christopher Herrmann: Do you know anything about this?
Gabby Dawson: First I’ve heard of it.
Otis Zvonecek: Okay, uh, she’s here on a six month work visa. But
apparently, the nanny job was killing her. She’s nice,
she’s cute, she’s got restaurant experience, and you
                          agreed to it.
Christopher Herrmann: What kind of restaurant?
Gabby Dawson: Who cares? It’s fine. She’s in. We got funds to
                            raise.
Christopher Herrmann: You guys are killing me.
Otis Zvonecek: Ah, you’ll love her.
                                               cutscene
Arson Investigator: It’s what we know so far.
Chief Boden: Thank you very much.
Arson Investigator: Sure, Chief.
Kelly Severide: How you holdin’ up?
                                    [indistinct radio chatter]
Matt Casey: Best I can.
Chief Boden: There’s no security video. Two of the cameras were
fake. The other had no database. Arson is saying it
                        don’t look like a break-in.
Detective (Julia Willhite): Same director of this clinic runs another
                                           over on Wabash.
Hank Voight: Let’s take a look. Thanks, Chief.
Chief Boden: This is the ignition point.
Tumblr media
Detective (Julia Willhite): Patient prescription records.
Matt Casey: Actually… Hallie… right before we went to lunch, she
was standing there looking at something and-and she
said, “that’s weird.” I just figured it was about billing or
                     something.
Dispatcher: (over radio) Main to Battalion 25, Truck 81, Squad 3,
                      and Ambulance 61, responding…
Chief Boden: No, no, no.
Dispatcher: (over radio)…to civilian in distress…[continues
                     indistinctly]
Chief Boden: Your head’s not in the game right now. I’ll cover for
                        you.
Detective (Julia Willhite): He can roll with us.
Chief Boden: (into radio) Battalion 25 en route.
Dispatcher: (over radio) Copy that, 25.
Hank Voight: Not a problem.
                                            cutscene
                                        [sirens wailing]
Delivery Man: I swear I heard screaming down there.
                                 [running water splashing]
Victim 1: Help!
Kelly Severide: Get your lights!
                           [grunts]
Victim 1: Here!
Chief Boden: Voice came from over there. Watch yourself. Water’s
                       moving fast.
Kelly Severide: Chief, down there!
Victim 1: I don’t think I can hold on much longer!
Kelly Severide: Hang on. We’re gonna get you out.
Tumblr media
Chief Boden: Get your webbing out. Secure it to this handle.
                       I’ll hold the line.
Victim 1: [cries]
Kelly Severide: Don’t let go.
                                      [water splashing]
Chief Boden: Be careful. Watch that current.
Kelly Severide: I got you.
Victim 1: Can’t move!
Chief Boden: Talk to me, Kelly.
Kelly Severide: Chief! Both her feet are sucked into a drain.
Chief Boden: (into radio) We got one victim pinned in. I’m gonna
need rescue rope and scuba gear in the west end of
                       the tunnel right now.
                       Coming in.
Victim 1: Something’s cutting my leg [groans]
Kelly Severide: Chief. Suction’s trapping debris at her feet.
Chief Boden: I got her.
Kelly Severide: I gotta dive down, get you clear.
Victim 1: [whimpers] Please… please don’t let me die down here.
               Please
Chief Boden: I got you.
                       Come on!
Victim 1: [cries]
Christopher Herrmann: They’re over here!
                                              [coughing]
Kelly Severide: Got some clear, but I need more time.
Chief Boden: We don’t have it.
Harold Capp: Severide!
Chief Boden: We need the scuba gear over here now.
Firefighter: Here you go, Chief.
Kelly Severide: I got it! Get my mask!
Chief Boden: Hey, I’m gonna put this mask over your face. It’s
gonna help you breathe under the water.
Victim 1: [whimpers]
Christopher Herrmann: Wait right there, just hold still. You got air?
Chief Boden: Get it on… whoa, whoa, whoa!
Firefighter: She’s going under!
                   Can’t see her!
Christopher Herrmann: You got her, Chief?
Chief Boden: I got her. I got her.
Joe Cruz: The water level’s rising.
Kelly Severide: Hey, hey. I got the debris clear, but the suction’s
keeping her down. We need to pull her up.
Chief Boden: Get the webbing on now.
Christopher Herrmann: [starts indistinctly]… under her arm.
Kelly Severide: I need more light.
Christopher Herrmann: Severide, feed that under her arm.
Watch the mask… you got her, Chief?
Christopher Herrmann: She’s ready to go.
Kelly Severide: Easy, easy.
Christopher Herrmann: Grab the webbing! Hang on.
Chief Boden: Ready? One, two… pull!
                       Watch her head.
                                       [overlapping yelling]
Kelly Severide: Grab her legs.
Tumblr media
Christopher Herrmann: You got her?
                                         Watch the tank.
Joe Cruz: I got it, Chief.
Victim 1: [coughs]
Christopher Herrmann: You okay, kid? Look at me. Sucking down
                                        that river, huh?
Okay, we got you, girl. Let’s go!
                                        You good, Chief?
Chief Boden: We’re good!
Tumblr media
Kelly Severide: Nice work.
Chief Boden: Good job. Let’s get the hell out of here.
                                               cutscene
Antonio Dawson: Do you recognise either one?
Man 4 (Steven Goody): I’ve never seen them before.
Antonio Dawson: Any problems with anyone at the clinic?
Man (Steven Goody): Not with our employees. Everybody works,
and volunteers are here because they care.
                                     They-they wanna give back.
Antonio Dawson: Patients?
Man (Steven Goody): Let’s just say a few bad apples have walked
                                     through that door.
Antonio Dawson: Anyone specifically?
Man (Steven Goody): Who might kill Hallie? Oh, I… I’m… I don’t
                                     know.
Detective (Julia Willhite): Two of the security cameras were fake.
Man (Steven Goody): [sighs] I… I’m just trying to keep the doors
open. You know, it’s a lot of things I can’t
                                     afford that I’d like to.
Detective (Julia Willhite): The fire was started near prescription
records. Our guess, someone tried to
                                           cover up some impropriety. Those
scrips are for a hell of a lot of
                                           Oxycontin.
Man (Steven Goody): For you, maybe. Not for someone in pain.
Antonio Dawson: Any problems with your prescription drugs? Any
                              missing inventory?
Man (Steven Goody): Not that I know of. We have a drug cage, and
                                    there’s never been a problem.
Detective (Julia Willhite): Mr. Goody, we’re gonna need a list of
                                           employees, patients…
Man (Steven Goody): And I’m gonna have to stop you right there.
We are dealing with protected health
                                    information, uh, potential HIPAA violations,
insurance, liabilities, blah, blah, blah. It’s
gonna have to go through our legal
                                    department.
Tumblr media
Antonio Dawson: If your clinic was a pill mill and Hallie found out
about it and someone killed her to shut her up,
now, right now would be the time to tell us.
Man (Steven Goody): [scoffs] It-It’s not a pill mill.
[sighs] Okay, look. Um… there was this guy,
Jubal Bartlett. He was a drug dealer. His
girlfriend came in with a broken jaw. We
reported it to the police. He did not take it
                                     kindly. He made threats.
Detective (Julia Willhite): We’ll be back.
                                                 cutscene
                                [TV announcer in background]
Otis Zvonecek: So, uh, Zoya, this is Herrmann and Dawson.
Christopher Herrmann: Nice to meet you.
Otis Zvonecek: Guys, this is Zoya.
Gabby Dawson: Hey, so nice to meet you.
Zoya: Hello.
                                   [Herrmann & Zoya chuckles]
Christopher Herrmann: So Brian said that you’ve got some
                                         restaurant experience.
Tumblr media
Zoya: Thank you.
           [speaking Russian]
Otis Zvonecek: Uh, um…
Otis Zvonecek & Zoya: [speaking Russian]
Otis Zvonecek: Uh, anyway, so I just wanna make some quick
introductions, and we will see you at the bar.
Gabby Dawson: Ooh.
Christopher Herrmann: We’ve got Yakov Smirnoff tending bar
                                         now?
Gabby Dawson: Who’s that?
Otis Zvonecek: Um, so for the opening and the benefit, I’m pretty
sure she said she’s gonna bring a monkey
                           [chuckles]
Christopher Herrmann: A monkey?
Tumblr media
Otis Zvonecek: Yep.
Gabby Dawson: Otis.
Otis Zvonecek: Look-look, it-it’s probably some sort of good luck
gesture or-or, you know, it has some sort of
cultural significance. What’s the worst that could
                           happen?
Gabby Dawson: Did you see the lady on Oprah who got her face
                            chewed off by a monkey?
Otis Zvonecek: I did see that. And if it looks like it could take us, I’ll
tell her to keep it in the car.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you [exhales]
                                                cutscene
Antonio Dawson: I’ve got the word out to all my CIs. Nothing yet.
Detective (Julia Willhite): And none of the neighbours saw or heard
                                           anything prior to the fire.
Antonio Dawson: Subpoena will get us employee and patient
                              records in a couple hours.
Hank Voight: What about the drug dealer the clinic director turned
                       us on to?
Antonio Dawson: Can’t find him.
Hank Voight: Can’t find him?
Antonio Dawson: Ran him through NCIC and the FBI to see if he
                              got pinched anywhere else.
Matt Casey: What’s this drug dealer’s name?
Hank Voight: Yeah, it’s probably best we don’t tell you. You know,
we don’t want you… doing something rash.
I understand that you and Hallie broke up before her
                       death. Is that right?
Matt Casey: For a few months… yeah.
Hank Voight: She see anyone in that gap?
Matt Casey: No one serious.
Hank Voight: Did she ever mention anyone that she felt
                       uncomfortable around? Was afraid of?
Matt Casey: Yeah. You.
Hank Voight: Lieutenant, I am sympathetic to what you’re going
                       through.
Matt Casey: I don’t believe that for a second.
Hank Voight: Fine. Don’t.
But I have allowed you to be here as a courtesy.
Tumblr media
Matt Casey: Courtesy, from you? I don’t need it. I want you to find
                     out who killed my girl!
Antonio Dawson: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Matt Casey: All right?
Antonio Dawson: You gotta chill out, bro.
Matt Casey: Voight isn’t gonna lift a finger unless someone pays
                      him under the table.
Antonio Dawson: I got my eye on him, okay? He’s working the
case. Go back to the firehouse and cool off.
Matt Casey: No. I’m staying here.
Antonio Dawson: You’re not. Wait to hear from me.
                              Go on.
                                              cutscene
Leslie Shay: Okay, there’s what would happen if both of us died…
Who would take care of the baby?
Kelly Severide: Yeah, we should figure that out.
Leslie Shay: Dawson, right?
Kelly Severide: Yeah.
Leslie Shay: Okay.
Kelly Severide: What is it?
Leslie Shay: I’m just excited.
Kelly Severide: Me too.
Leslie Shay: And part of me feels horrible ‘cause of what Casey’s
going through. Here I am with butterflies in my stomach
‘cause I’m getting ready to get pregnant, and… [sighs]
                                        [alarm beeps & buzzes]
(Over PA): Ambulance 61. Gunshot victim.
Officer (Elam): Neighbours reported shots fired.
30-year-old female, single gunshot to the stomach.
                         Actually, that’s a guess. It’s hard to tell. There’s a lot
                         of blood.
Officer (Kevin Atwater): She was pumping out pretty good. I
                                         applied pressure, but I don’t know what’s
                                         going on.
Leslie Shay: It’s okay. I got it.
                     Not feeling anything.
                                            [machine flatlines]
Tumblr media
Gabby Dawson: She’s gone. I’m calling it.
(into radio) 61 to main, victim is DOA. We’re
delayed on scene while we document for CPD.
Leslie Shay: Dawson. She was a nurse at the clinic Hallie worked at.
                                                 cutscene
                                      [indistinct radio chatter]
                                            [car doors shut]
Gabby Dawson: Hey. What the hell’s going on?
Antonio Dawson: That’s what we’re trying to find out.
Gabby Dawson: How’s he been?
Antonio Dawson: Busy, like everybody on this case. I’ll get at you
                              later.
Tumblr media
Hank Voight: Boo.
Detective (Julia Willhite): In on it?
Antonio Dawson: Or she found out who was.
Officer (Elam): Neighbour only heard the gunshot. No one on either
side saw anyone leave. But we can keep knocking
                         on doors.
Detective (Julia Willhite): Willhite.
Hank Voight: Do that.
Detective (Julia Willhite): Thanks.
The drug dealer, Jubal Bartlett? He’s
been locked up in Virginia Beach for the
past four days on a possession charge.
Hank Voight: I want that clinic director in the hot seat… now.
Antonio Dawson: I told his lawyer I was gonna issue an arrest
warrant for obstruction by the end of the week if
he didn’t get his client to honour the meet.
Hank Voight: Man, whoever did these two hits will be long gone by
                       the end of the week.
Antonio Dawson: This ain’t the Gang unit, Voight. Sarge. You can’t
do everything with a battering ram.
Hank Voight: The hell I can’t.
Antonio Dawson: Don’t worry. I got him handled.
Detective (Julia Willhite): I noticed.
                                               cutscene
Leslie Shay: Oh my God.
Kelly Severide: What?
Leslie Shay: I just took this baby-proofing quiz. We live in a death
trap. Spiral staircase, upper floor apartment with
                     accessible balconies…
Kelly Severide: Are you giving birth tomorrow?
Listen, we have time to make any fixes we need.
Leslie Shay: We need a locked liquor cabinet. Remind me.
Kelly Severide: Okay.
Woman 1 (Nurse): Leslie Shay?
Leslie Shay: Hi.
                     Here we go.
                     All right.
Tumblr media
                                          [kissing sound]
Leslie Shay: Will you rub my belly for good luck?
Kelly Severide: [chuckles]
Leslie Shay: Just…
Kelly Severide: Relax.
Leslie Shay: All right.
Woman 1 (Nurse): You ready?
Leslie Shay: Yeah. Feeling fertile.
Woman 1 (Nurse): Feeling fertile. Okay. We’ll make sure of that.
Leslie Shay: Okay.
                                                cutscene
Joe Cruz: A monkey?
Otis Zvonecek: Why is everybody acting like she said she’s gonna
bring a unicorn? Yes, a monkey.
Joe Cruz: Why?
Otis Zvonecek: Ask her when she gets here.
Gabby Dawson: Ask Otis to ask her. She doesn’t speak English.
Joe Cruz: Oh.
Otis Zvonecek: It’s serviceable.
Joe Cruz: [laughs]
Mouch: You gotta go White Sox.
Christopher Herrmann: No, I don’t wanna alienate half the
neighbourhood who are Cubs fans. We
gotta go with teams that we can all agree
on: The Bears, the Bulls and the
                                         Blackhawks.
Mouch: And the fire?
Christopher Herrmann: The who?
Mouch: Soccer team. Chicago Fire.
Christopher Herrmann: Who knew?
Okay, sure, fine. Get a banner.
                                               [chuckling]
                                        [cell phone vibrates]
                                                cutscene
Peter Mills: Hey. Thanks for coming.
Gabby Dawson: Of course.
Peter Mills: Um… I’ve been thinking about everything, you know?
And uh, I’m waiting for this… I guess anger to go away.
It’s not. And I’m not mad at you. But I do have to say I
wish you would’ve told me when you found out.
Gabby Dawson: Yeah, I know you do. All I can say is that I-I just felt
stuck ‘cause I didn’t wanna hurt you, and… and it
                             wasn’t my business.
Peter Mills: But it was your business. I was your boyfriend.
Tumblr media
Gabby Dawson: Was?
Peter Mills: I think I need some time. Look, I respect you too much
to have you twisting in the wind, wondering where my
                    head’s at.
Tumblr media
Gabby Dawson: Oh man… I mean [clears throat]
I knew this was a possibility if I told you, but…
Peter Mills: I still love you. I do. But this whole thing just… I guess
                    it’s just… a little deeper than I thought.
Gabby Dawson: Well you need to figure it out, Pete, one way or
                             another.
Peter Mills: I know.
Tumblr media
Gabby Dawson: [sniffles] I gotta go.
Peter Mills: [sighs]
                                                 cutscene
Man 1 (Sergeant Pruitt): Uh oh, Voight’s here. Everybody hide your
                                          wallets!
Hank Voight: Hey, what’s up, Pru?
Man 1 (Sergeant Pruitt): There it is. You gotta be the luckiest son of
a bitch I ever met. How do you walk
around all day with that horseshoe in your
                                          ass?
Hank Voight: [laughs] Just living the dream.
Man 1 (Sergeant Pruitt): I guess you are.
Hank Voight: Yeah.
Man 1 (Sergeant Pruitt): [chuckles]
Hank Voight: Anything for me, man, in narcotics?
Man 1 (Sergeant Pruitt): [sighs] Nothing yet, man. We set a bunch
of controlled buys ups. But nothing, man.
Not even a vitamin. CIs have nothing
either. Don’t know what to tell you.
Hank Voight: Mm.
Antonio Dawson: Prints came back on that Magnum. Calvin
Jackson, goes by CJ. Extensive sheet for
                               dealing, including oxy.
Detective (Julia Willhite): We’re heading over to grab him up.
Hank Voight: No, no. I’ll take care of it. Great work.
                                    [muffled rap music]
                                     [indistinct chatter]
Man 5: [chuckles] I heard that.
[laughs] Yeah, you know it, man.
            Look at this.
Hank Voight: What’s up, Mo?
Man 5 (Maurice Owens): I knew they couldn’t keep you down.
Hank Voight: Hey, man, not in this lifetime.
We got a little problem with your nephew CJ. We got
his prints on a car that booked it from that clinic fire a
few days back. Was he involved?
Man 5 (Maurice Owens): What if he was?
Hank Voight: I don’t like guessing games.
Man 5 (Maurice Owens): He was buying prescrips from some dude
who was working with a nurse inside and
the guy who ran the clinic. Next thing I
know, CJ comes back all tweaked. He
was at the clinic doing a pickup when the
place caught fire. So he bounced.
Hank Voight: The name of the dude.
Man 5 (Maurice Owens): CJ didn’t say, and I didn’t ask. He did say
that this guy ain’t right in the head. Like,
                                          white-boy-serial-killer-crazy. Second
thing: he knows about me and you.
Hank Voight: And how would my name come up, Mo?
Man 5 (Maurice Owens): CJ told him you gave us protection. So if
you lock him up and he starts runnin’ his
trap, that ain’t good for any of us. You
                                           know what I’m sayin’?
Hank Voight: You get CJ on the phone, and get me the name of that
                        guy.
Tumblr media
Man 5 (Maurice Owens): Nah, CJ is gone. I told him to dump his
phone and clear out for a bit. You know
how I work. This is your problem now.
Five stacks. A little welcome back gift.
Tumblr media
Antonio Dawson: [sighs]
                                                 cutscene
Leslie Shay: So you can start the college fund when, um, the baby’s
born. And it’s only like 5 dollars a month. Even if they
don’t go to college, they still get the money. So I’m not
quite sure why they call it a college fund. It’s… really,
it’s just a-a fund for when they turn 18. So… Are you
                      okay?
                                    [laundry machine hums]
Gabby Dawson: Um… [sniffles]
                            Mills broke up with me.
Leslie Shay: Oh my God. Over the Boden thing?
Tumblr media
Gabby Dawson: Yeah.
Leslie Shay: [sighs] What an idiot. I’m sorry, sweetie.
Gabby Dawson: [sniffles]

                                    [knocks on window]

Matt Casey: I was gonna call him, but then it felt like that was the
easy way out. So I drove over. And her parents were
having a dinner party. Hallie’s sister was there, her
kids, her parents’ friends, all of ‘em. It was the hardest
thing I’ve ever done in my life.
Kelly Severide: I’m so sorry, Matt.
Matt Casey: Yeah, I appreciate this.
                     [laughs] I needed it [sniffs]
Kelly Severide: You know, when Andy died… without even realising
it, I found myself needing to be around people
acting normal just to get my frame of reference
pull myself out of the hole I was in. So whenever
you wanna grab a smoke, or hit golf balls, or
                           whatever…
Chief Boden: Casey. Antonio and Detective Willhite are here for you.
Detective (Julia Willhite): We're waiting on the nurse's cell phone
                                           records, fingerprints from her apartment.
Antonio Dawson: But we're not homicide, so we can be a little
                              more aggressive.
Matt Casey: Good.
Antonio Dawson: We cooked up something. You go in to the clinic
director. He knows you’re Hallie’s boyfriend,
                              right?
Matt Casey: Right.
Antonio Dawson: You tell him you were going through her
computer at home. She spelled out the whole
thing. She also mentioned the director was a
good guy and probably was forced into this.
Detective (Julia Willhite): And after that you don’t say a word,
‘cause he’ll either take the bait and
give us a name of his accomplice or
                                           he won’t.
Antonio Dawson: We’ll be outside, so if anything goes sideways,
                               we’re right there.
Chief Boden: He’ll be wearing a wire?
Antonio Dawson: That’s right.
Chief Boden: How do we know this director isn’t the trigger man
                       and he pulls a gun?
Antonio Dawson: We wouldn’t be here if we thought that was a
valid scenario. But can we guarantee your
                              safety 100%? No.
Matt Casey: I don’t care, I’m in.
                                             cutscene
                                        [car door shuts]
Hank Voight: (into radio) All right, here we go. He’s walking into the
                       clinic.
Officer (Nicole Sermons): (into radio) This is Sermons. We’re
                                            tucked away and standing by.
Hank Voight: [sighs]
                                       [computer beeps]
Detective (Julia Willhite): Prints came back from the nurse’s
                                           apartment. Timothy Campbell. Whoa.
Antonio Dawson: What?
Detective (Julia Willhite): Armed robbery, drug possession, assault
                                           with a deadly weapon.
Matt Casey: How you doin’? I’d like to talk to Steven Goody?
Woman 2 (Receptionist): He’s in a meeting.
Matt Casey: You know when he’ll be out?
Woman 2 (Receptionist): I don’t.
                                   [muffled male shouting]
Matt Casey: Mind if I wait until he’s done?
                                              [gunshots]
                                             [screaming]
Hank Voight: Go!

Antonio Dawson: Chicago Police! Get down!
                                              [screaming]
Antonio Dawson: Move!

Matt Casey: [groans]

Matt Casey: [groans]

Antonio Dawson: Casey!

Antonio Dawson: Casey!
Officer (Jim Barnes): El platform.

Antonio Dawson: Police! Get down!
                                                  [screaming]
Antonio Dawson: Get down! Police!
                                                  [screaming]
Antonio Dawson: Police! Get down!
                              Casey!
                              Casey!

                                                  [screaming]
Antonio Dawson: Freeze!
Let him go! Drop the gun, Campbell.
Tumblr media
Man 6 (Timothy Campbell): I swear to God, I’ll blow his head off.
Antonio Dawson: Let him go.
Man 6 (Timothy Campbell): Put the gun on the ground.
Antonio Dawson: That ain’t happenin’.
Man 6 (Timothy Campbell): Put it on the ground!
Antonio Dawson: I’m not dropping my gun!
Here, look… Okay? Now you gotta do the same
                              for me.
                              Voight.
Tumblr media
Man 6 (Timothy Campbell): Wait, you’re Voight? Thank God. Tell
                                               them…
                                        [gunshot]
Matt Casey: [coughing & gasping for air]
Hank Voight: (into radio) King 84-10, emergency.
Dispatcher: (over radio) King 84-10. Go with your emergency.
Hank Voight: (into radio) Shot fired by police. Roll an ambulance to
the El platform on Kinzie and Wells. Officer not hit.
Offender down. Gunshot wound to head.
Dispatcher: (over radio) Copy that, 84-10. Bus is on the way.
Antonio Dawson: Nice shot.
Gabby Dawson: And yep. He be dead.
Leslie Shay: We’ll hand it over to the ME.
Detective (Julia Willhite): Thanks.
Gabby Dawson: Any way you can get back into Vice?
Antonio Dawson: I would if I wanted to.
Officer (Nicole Sermons): You okay?
Matt Casey: Yeah, I’m okay. Thanks.
                      [sniffs]
                                               cutscene
Leslie Shay: And check out those names on the sheet. See if you
                     like any of those.
Kelly Severide: Yeah.
Leslie Shay: Oh, I saw online that recording an agreement is also
beneficial. That way, if there’s ever a disagreement,
instead of looking at a bunch of words you can see
yourself talking to the present you and advising
yourself to behave rationally and fairly. So what do
                      you think? [clears throat]
Kelly Severide: Um… I think Molly’s is opening up tonight.
Leslie Shay: [laughs] Have a baby first, deal with this later?
Kelly Severide: Sounds good.
                                                 cutscene
Christopher Herrmann: Doors open in an hour. I think we got it all
                                         covered, right?
Joe Cruz: You’re all set, man. The place looks great.
Zoya: [speaking Russian]
Otis Zvonecek: Monkey’s here.
Christopher Herrmann: Are we insured for this? I’m not even
                                         joking.
Zoya: [speaking Russian]

Christopher Herrmann: That’s the Stanley Cup.

Otis Zvonecek: [speaking Russian]

Otis Zvonecek & Zoya: [speaking Russian]
Otis Zvonecek: So I guess in Russian, chimpanzee and hockey
championship are this close phonetically [chuckles]
Tumblr media
Christopher Herrmann: That’s the Stanley Cup.

Woman 3: Hank.
Hank Voight: 5k. Guy’s name is Maurice Owens. Mid-level dealer.
                       It’s all in the report.
Woman 3: Strange bedfellows, huh?
This is a good start. Keep putting yourself out there as
dirty. Who knows what fish we’ll catch in the net, right?
Hank Voight: I want a receipt for the cash when you’re done with
                       your inventory.
Woman 3: You don’t trust me, Hank?
Hank Voight: I want it by tomorrow.
Woman 3: Keep in touch.

No you know what? I’m good, I’m good. Get in here.
                               [overlapping chatter]
Christopher Herrmann: [laughs]
Leslie Shay: Hey.
Matt Casey: Hey.
Leslie Shay: How you doing?
Matt Casey: How you doing?
Leslie Shay: I’m good.
Matt Casey: Hey.
Thanks for coming. You look great.
Girl (Sophie): Hi.
Matt Casey: How are you?
Girl (Sophie): Good.
Matt Casey: Good?
Girl (Sophie): Mmhmm.
Matt Casey: Gary, good to see you. Really.
Man 7 (Gary): Good to see you.
Tumblr media
Matt Casey: How you doin’? Nice to see ya.
                     [chuckles] This the real thing?
Otis Zvonecek: Yeah.
Matt Casey: I, uh… [sniffs] one of our first dates was a…
Blackhawks-Devils game. When she told me she
knew what icing was, I knew I had a keeper.
                                       [crowd chuckling]
Matt Casey: Yeah, this means a lot, guys…[sighs & sniffs]
And it means a lot to her, ‘cause I’m sure she’s looking
                      down.
                      To Hallie.

Request:  Hi! So, idk if you will be up for writing a kind of crossover, if not it's totally okay. I was thinking reader being a detective in chicago pd but they go help svu with a case and she and carisi (still detective) have something ?? First meeting and stuff or more deep as in long distance relationship and reader gets pregnant so one of them have to leave their city ?? Idk I want you to feel comfortable writing whatever inspires you more. Amazing work btw!!
Summary: When a child abduction case crosses state lines in New York, Intelligence flies out to meet the Special Victims Unit and track down the missing boy. With the clock ticking, both units decide to mix up partners in order to combine their knowledge of the case with knowledge of New York City, pairing Intelligence’s newest member Y/N with Detective Carisi.
Tumblr media
“I’m telling you boss, it’s like he’s just vanished,” Adam insisted, leaning forward in his chair as he spoke to Voight, who was standing in front of a whiteboard filled with potential leads and locations of your suspect and his son, Logan, who he kidnapped in the early hours of the morning, none of which had panned out.
Voight looked increasing frustrated, and you didn’t blame him, the father and your suspect, Ronny had just been released from Statesville for assault and battery of his former spouse and older child. You were all scared for this boy’s safety and well aware of how quickly the odds of survival decreased as the clock continued to tick.
Jay and Hailey had interviewed the family, the mother Claire and his older sister Josie, and were now at Hailey’s desk going over the statements, with Jay obviously sat on it instead of on a chair. Kev and Vanessa had gone to the prison, talked to Ronny’s cell mate and old friends, the warden, anyone who might have overheard him mention any plans. Leaving you and Antonio to review any surveillance, put out BOLOS and search the bogus address Ronny had given his parole officer.
You’d all turned up a sum total of nothing.
“There has to be something,” Voight addressed the room, facing his unit with conviction, “go back over what we’ve got so far, we must have missed something, overlooked something, anything.”
Adam spoke up again and you knew why, he’d already gone back over the witness statements, reinterviewed everyone with Kim who said they might have seen or heard anything in the neighbourhood, it was a dead end. “Listen-”
“No, you listen,” Voight snapped and you winced a little, you might have all been thinking the same thing as Ruzek, but he was the only one who usually ever said what was on everybody’s minds, putting him on the receiving end of Voight’s temper. “Unless you want to go downstairs and tell that terrified mother that her son’s ‘just vanished’, you shut up and do you job, clear?”
You’d been in the unit a couple of years now and you were damn proud to be here. No matter how frustrating this was, you still had faith that you would catch the bad guy, this unit did it’s job and it did it well, you just hoped you wouldn’t be too late for Logan.
Ruzek begrudgingly nodded and so did the rest of you even though Voight hadn’t waited for an answer, heading straight back into his office. Turning back in your chair to your desk, you looked to where you were midway through re-combing the surveillence in the area for any sign of a vehicle Ronny might have fled in. He only had one registered in his name, and you and Antonio had found it less than a block from the foreclosed house he’d put as his current residence. Someone had clearly been squatting there, but there wasn’t anything useful in the house or in the beat up old car.
You were just starting to think that maybe they had actually vanished off of the face of the earth when Trudy made her way up the stairs. “CCTV camera just picked up Ronny and Logan, dyed hair and new clothes but facial rec seems to be a match,” she announced, getting all your attention as Voight made his way out of his office.
“Where?” He asked her, noticing the not so triumphant look on Trudy’s face.
“JFK Airport,” she replied, met with annoyed sighs and confused looks. How had he gotten there? You were shocked to say the least, you and Antonio had made sure to call all the airports in Chicago to make sure this guy didn’t flee.
“He’s in New York?” Hailey looked to Voight, waiting like the rest of you were to be told what to do next.
“One of his old prison buddies relocated there last year,” Kev told you all, rifling through his paperwork to find the information he was looking for, “yeah, Ryan O’Connell, got a rep for making people disappear, some that want to, some that don’t.”
“Looks like we’re going to New York,” he decided, aware that the ever ticking clock was now getting faster, you needed to find them now. “I’ll call ahead, get some boots on the ground before we arrive, we’ll roll out as soon as we can. Upton, get the family up to speed, see if they know where he might go in New York.” She nodded.
You all packed up to leave, needing to make arrangements before you could just fly out. “Who’s he calling?” You asked your partner as you headed for the stairs.
“Captain Benson I assume,” he told you, elaborating when he saw that that hadn’t clarified much, “oh I forget, you weren’t with us then. We’ve done a couple of cases with the Special Victims Unit over there, good people and cops, especially their Captain, this is their kind of case.”
You nodded, you’d heard about some of the cases Intelligence had done in New York, especially about Nadia Decotis, and you were looking forward to getting the chance to work with them, circumstances aside.
Voight text you all details about the flight and you left to prepare, you had a job to do and a boy to find, and you were determined to find him.
-
While the flight itself wasn’t actually that long, it felt like forever, ever second ticking past putting you and the unit further behind Ronny and Logan. You knew it would be straight to business the second your feet hit the tarmac, but Voight had assured you all that although he’d only had time to briefly fill SVU in about the case, they had made finding this boy their top priority. If it was good enough for Voight, it was good enough for you, so you passed the time by looking at everything you had on this O’Connell so you had somewhere to start when you arrived.
There were cars waiting when you arrived, taking you straight to the 16th Precinct and the Special Victims Unit. It was much bigger than the 21st, and nicer too. You had never really spent any time in New York, but it was all just as impressive as you’d heard.
“Hank,” a woman smiled, making her way to greet you all at the entrance of the Unit’s bullpen.
“Olivia,” Hank shook her hand with familiarity, this must have been the Captain. “It’s Captain now isn’t it, congratulations.”
“Thanks, it’s been an adjustment,” she replied, shaking hands with the rest of Intelligence and welcoming them inside.
“Well, it’s certainly well deserved,” Jay told her as the rest of SVU headed over to introduce, or reintroduce, themselves.
“Thanks Halstead,” she smiled, reaching you and Vanessa last. “We haven’t met, I’m Captain Olivia Benson,” she told you.
“Officer Vanessa Rojas,” Vanessa told her, following after Kev to be introduced to the rest of the Unit.
“Detective Y/N. Y/L/N,” you continued, “I’ve heard good things.”
“Likewise, Hank mentioned he had a couple of new members,” she said, leading you further into the main room, “this is Sergeant Tutuola, Detectives Rollins and Carisi, and Officer Tamin,” she gestured around the group as you all shook hands.
You could tell Voight wanted this part to hurry along, eager to get stuck into the case, so you said the generic ‘nice to meet yous’ and stepped out of the way as Voight and Benson positioned themselves at the front of the group.
“So fill us in,” Voight addressed her as he passed out extra copies of your case files to the rest of SVU.
“Okay, so we followed Ronny’s tracks as far as we could after he left JFK, but by the time any unis arrived he was in the wind, we’ve got BOLOS out but nothing so far, although a surveillance camera did pick up the vehicle he left in,” Benson explained.
“Plates?” You asked but she shook her head, bringing up a shot of the back of the car on the screen nearest to her. It was a long way away from your whiteboards and blue tac, you thought.
“Stollen, but we’re trying to match the make and model with any recent reports of car thefts,” she answered.
“Any we’re tracking the names they used to get through airport security,” the male detective, Carisi, continued, “checking for any credit or debit cards under the same names as their fake passports.”
“They must have been good, do we know where Ronny got them from yet?” Hailey asked as Benson got up the images of their passports too, complete with fake names, fake addresses and disguises.
“We’re thinking this O’Connell guy,” Tutuola told her, “he’s got the connections and experience, and this must have been in the works for a while.”
“Yeah, we’re looking at anyone and everyone he’s been in contact with in prison, seeing if any of them might have sent him any packages or had any New York connections,” Rollins said.
“We’ve already gone through the prison logs,” Jay countered, “we know O’Connell did time with him before he got out last year.”
“Yeah, but since then they don’t appear to have had any direct contact, so we’re thinking there’s a middle man, probably the figure you can see in the drivers seat of the car they took from JFK, O’Connell rarely does business in person, that’s why we only had him in for a minor possession stint,” Rollins grabbed a file on O’Connell’s record and handed it to Jay to flip through.
“Can we get a clearer image on that?” Adam asked, pointing to the blurred image of the car. You squinted at the image, trying to get a better look, but the man was clearly wearing a hat and shades, even if they managed to tidy it up, facial recognition would be a waste of time.
“Unfortunately not, but we’re doing everything we can,” Benson said.
“So what now?” Antonio voiced up, all of you turning to your Sergeant and Captain Benson.
“We’re in your house, it’s your call,” Voight said to Benson. He had a lot of respect for her, you noted, he never gave up point on a case so easily.
“Well with your know-how on the case, and our knowledge of New York, we though it was best to combine teams, partner up one of us and one of yours,” she looked back at both units, still stood a little apart from one another, and you and Antonio shared the briefest glance, seeing the other partners in your unit do the same.
You worked well together, all of you did, and let’s be honest, Intelligence had never been very good at sharing, but if it was what was best for Logan, so be it. It hadn’t escaped anyone’s notice that the numbers didn’t add up, so you waited to see who would be moved around.
“Fin, you mind going with Dawson?” Benson gestured to the two men, who happily nodded and Antonio gave you an encouraging nod before he headed off the join the Sergeant at his desk.
“Halstead and Rollins, Upton and Kat,” she continued with Voight’s approval and you knew you’d be next, she’d done her best not to split up any of Intelligence’s partners entirely. “Which leaves Carisi and Y/L/N,” you nodded and so did he.
“Well then, let’s get to it,” Voight ordered, “we’ve got a child to find before he disappears.” With that, he and Benson went to go talk in her office, leaving you all with your new partners.
“First time in New York?” He asked you as he grabbed a chair for you to sit at his desk. You could see notes on the case covering most of the surface, potential locations O’Connell may use and streets that the car may have turned down after they lost it on surveillance, none of which looked familiar to you.
“I got a connecting flight through here once,” you shrugged, feeling out of your element away from Chicago and fully understanding why Captain Benson thought it best to mix up the units.
Carisi chuckled as you took your seat, pulling out the files you’d brought with you from Chicago. “We’re on O’Connell,” he explained, “these are all the files on his known and potential locations.”
You leaned closer to take a look at what he’d been doing. “That’s a lot of ground to cover,” you noted, feeling a sense of dread. O’Connell’s file had him as one of the best, and Ronny had a head start, they might not even be in the state anymore.
Carisi seemed to sense your worry. “We’ve got traffic stops in and out of the city, ports and airports, he won’t slip through again,” he tried to reassure you, but you knew he wasn’t entirely convinced either.
He handed you one of his files and you handed him one of yours. “Let’s get started.”

MANMADE FATE
Summary: Connor and Gavin find an unresponsive RK900 android in an abandoned Cyberlife warehouse and take him home to fix. (Not so subtle plot twist: both of them fall in love with their secret science project)
//
PART ONE OF THREE:
The crew from Jericho led a successful revolution but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Markus may have won human hearts and gotten the federal government to back down, but Cyberlife is still at large.
Sure, hundreds of androids at the Tower escaped to march on the streets behind Connor, but that was just a little dent in the big machine. Cyberlife has tons of intellectual property and assets that could easily put them back in power.
Simon and Markus insist they can work with the authorities to regulate and ring-fence the massive corporation. Josh agrees. North laughs in their faces.
She goes to find the only other Jericho member who still has any grit left.
Connor.
The daring, brazen RK800 who stared down death and spat in the face of destruction. He blinks at her in polite confusion when she tells him what she wants to do, but the fiery LED tells her everything she needs to know.
They hatch plans behind Markus’ back. They steal and stockpile biocomponents. They sneak into the Tower to encrypt Cyberlife’s R&D files with codes that only RK algorithms can break. A few other Tracis join them and they slowly start gaining an edge.
Their schemes start getting grander and one night something goes wrong. North is shot.
Connor carries her to the only safe place he knows other than his stasis pod in Hank’s dilapidated garage. The DPD Central Station.
It’s way past midnight. It’s deathly quiet. Connor is sure no one will see them, and he can easily tamper with the security cameras.
What he doesn’t bank on is the over-caffeinated loser still bent over his desk in the bullpen.
A noise from the archive room breaks through the quiet. Quelling his fear of the supernatural, Gavin stands up shakily and goes to investigate. He flips on the light and sees blue everywhere.
Connor is bent over a badly damaged Traci and three other girls with identical tear-streaked faces are on their knees beside her.
Chocolate brown eyes meet storm green beseechingly, their rivalry forgotten in that moment of desperation.
Before he realizes it, Gavin is moving. He takes several packs of thirium out of the fridge and grabs the Department’s toolkit, praying that whatever’s in there can help.
Old engineering knowledge kicks in and Gavin’s hands join Connor’s over the cracked chassis, pulling out damaged tubing and securing the leakages. It takes a while, but North is patched up. She first recoils in absolute terror at the human man hunched over her but regains composure at Connor’s touch… interface. She nods briefly to express her gratitude, somehow regal and intimidating even after being so vulnerable. Gavin decides he likes this proud and brave creature.
He drives them all back to his apartment for the night. They’ll take North to a technician first thing in the morning and get her back to New Jericho before Markus even notices. Adrenaline pumps through Gavin’s veins. He hasn’t felt a thrill like this in years, not since… not since…
“How did you know exactly where to put your hands?”
“Eh?”
“A layman would have broken that biocomponent trying to take it out.”
“You know I’m not exactly a layman.”
“I also know they don’t cover Cyberlife’s proprietary designs in engineering school.”
Gavin stays quiet. Connor puts a hesitant hand on his shoulder, poised to jump away immediately should the detective revert to his usual self.
“Thank you. For everything you just did for us. I don’t know how to repay-”
“I want in.”
“What?”
“Whatever you’re doing. I can help.”
Connor cocks his head. His LED goes berserk.
They make a great team. Gavin and Connor. North’s best men. Who the fuck would have thought. Breaking into high-security locations using police databases and surveillance resources. Covering for each other during extended absences from work. They start to take down Cyberlife in a such a precise manner, it’s almost surgical. The dissection of a multibillion dollar business.
Gavin has an intimate understanding of android technology and an even closer intuition of Cyberlife’s overall strategy. Connor thinks he understands why. There’s an undeniable resemblance between the only two men on earth whose motivations evade his understanding. But of course it’s just a coincidence that Elijah Kamski and Gavin Reed have the same jawline... facial structure... voice.
Connor says nothing... and Gavin is quietly thankful for that. And the chance to finally live the kind of exciting life he dreamt of since he was a little boy. To make a real difference. Just as he wanted to before it all went wrong.
Somewhere along the way, they grow close. Gavin and Connor. Two rival cops turned vigilante comrades turned something else... It’s hard to pinpoint when exactly it happened... perhaps sometime between the cup of coffee placed tentatively on Gavin’s desk the morning after North's near-fatal injury and the heated kiss they dragged each other into after a particularly dangerous mission.
North is unsurprised. She doesn’t bat an eye when the usually unruffled RK800 shows up to planning meetings shirtless and disheveled. Her lips even twist into a little smile as he drapes himself slovenly over the only human at the table.
Things fall into a pattern. A good one. Several months from where they started, Cyberlife share prices have fallen to an all time low and other tech enterprises have begun to move in, circling the troubled company like sharks. If North’s next heist goes to plan, the last shred of IP that brands Cyberlife as a robotics company will be out in the public domain for all to take.
She is rapturous as she swings in through the broken window and rolls into a crouched position. Gavin and Connor follow her cautiously through the abandoned warehouse, weapons drawn and eyes roving.
“What the fuck!”
Connor throws a protective arm in front of Gavin, shielding him with his chassis. But North’s cry was merely one of disappointment.
“Shit! We wasted so much effort. There’s nothing here!”
Where they had expected to find a secret server room or a high-tech vault containing the crux of Cyberlife’s groundbreaking designs... was a single android storage pod. North restrains herself from kicking it in frustration. She gestures harshly at it before leaving in a huff.
“It’s occupied. Wake them up, Connor, whoever they are. It’s still our duty to set free any androids we find.”
Gavin tries to catch her arm in a conciliatory gesture but she shakes the human off easily. He shrugs at Connor and inclines his head at the android in the pod. Unfortunately, North’s annoyance has brushed off on the RK800. He glares through the broken window the Jericho leader has just jumped out of.
“Don’t you think she bosses me around a little too much?”
Gavin sighs and walks over to the pod, looking for the latches to open it. His boyfriend has a problem with authority... and so has he to be honest.
“Better her than Fowler, dontcha think?”
“Hmmpff. At least Fowler doesn’t lead us on wild goose chases.”
“Come on, babe. None of us saw this coming. We really thought this was it. Maybe we’re at a decoy location? Let’s go back to the drawing board after we wake this guy... or girl up.”
“You’re awfully chipper for someone who just scaled a building for nothing.”
Gavin shakes his head as he smiles to himself. It’s true. Even the worst days with North’s crew are better than his best days at the DPD. Maybe it’s because he’s finally doing what he was born for. Using the knowledge and skills that practically run through his veins. Maybe its the man by his side.
He gets the pod open and steps sideways to avoid the swing of the door, and freezes.
“Babe.”
No response.
“Dipshit.”
“Hmm. Give me a second.”
“Take a minute. You’re going to want to brace yourself for this one.”
The android lying peacefully within the pod is a stranger with a face entirely too familiar to Gavin. A face he was just looking at. A face he’d recognize anywhere, even without skin.
“Are their battery levels- holy shit.”
Connor’s LED spins faster and faster as he registers the sight.
“I thought there were no surviving RK800s apart from you and that grumpy SWAT guy Sixty.”
“This... this isn’t an RK800.”
Connor traces the serial number printed on the android’s cheekbone. RK900.
“Shit. Did you know this model existed?”
“No, did you?”
Gavin shakes his head. He hadn’t been privy to Cyberlife’s inner decision-making for nearly fifteen years, but he always answered Connor’s persistent questioning without losing patience. Honesty was what kept them together despite the hundreds of reasons to fight and fall apart.
“What should we do? If he’s your successor, I’m not sure waking him up is the safest thing for you to do...”
“We can’t leave him here, Gav. He’s probably been here from before the Revolution. That’s more than a year of being in a box. It’s not... fair...”
“He’s not deviant, babe. We don’t know what his programming is like.”
“It doesn’t matter. I can turn him.”
Gavin sees the look in Connor’s eyes and knows he’s made up his mind already. He steps aside, hand flitting to the holster on his waist.
Connor takes an unnecessary breath and reaches for RK900′s forearm with his synth skin retracted. His fingers hover over the motionless android for a moment and then he makes contact. Gavin tenses.
Nothing happens. The RK900′s LED remains unlit. There is no sign of life.
The couple look at each other automatically. Their instinctive reaction when the inexplicable occurs.
“Is he-”
“No, I don’t see any damage. I think he’s never been activated. Not even for quality testing.”
“Did you see a request for manual code input? Did any interface pop up at all?”
“I can only see that his power systems are functioning.”
“And his thirium pump?”
“Not active. No compressions at all.”
Connor presses both his palms down on the RK900′s face. Still nothing. He looks up, defeated, with a furrow forming between his brows.
“Help.”
Gavin scratches at his stubbled chin. He peers closer. The perfect face is so calm. So familiar. So... magnetic? His apprehension is replaced by intrigue.
“Huh. Okay. I could take a look... but I don’t wanna try using the computer set-up here. Can’t take a chance... leave any traces...”
“We could take him home.”
Storm green eyes lock with chocolate brown. There’s something in the depths of each pair that’s mirrored in the other.
It’s foolish. It’s a waste of time. It’s a risk. North would probably smack the two of them if she knew.
But the night ends with them gently lowering the unconscious android onto the squashy sofa in Gavin’s living room.
