Thank you for the tag @hannahcbrown xx
No pressure tags: @lizzie-tempest @sneakyfox55 @beck-a-leck and anyone else who wants to jump in.
OK, this is literally the latest line I've written:
So why had he told you so much?
And no, you don't get context (because I'm evil muhahaha!) OK, maybe not that evil... It's not that deep, really.
Since I also found this tag in my drafts that I'd forgotten about (sorry @hannahcbrown !) have some more:

He'd told you three a lot. Perhaps more than he'd intended to. Monsters that were already familiar with the Multiverse tended to know him by reputation already, even if they'd never met him personally. But revealing the existence of the Multiverse to those previously unaware of it always felt a little bit like interfering with a developing a civilisation .
Even so, Dream normally liked to leave worlds to discover the Multiverse on their own. What did they call it in that one starship show Blue liked? The 'Prime Directive'?

Hello! List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals and followers :D
Hello you 😊️
My Danish Gent is coming to see me in a few days 🥰️ Not to be soppy on main, but he definitely makes me happy (he sent me flowers for Valentines and everything 🥰️)
Talking of flowers - my plants make me happy. The spring bed has bloomed and the Blueb bush is budding (I should do a garden update at some point 🤔️)
New art supplies - I bought a bunch of stuff the other day, and I'm excited to have a weekend free where I can make use of it.
Making progress on WIPs - I'm a quarter of the way through my edit of Her Countenance was Light. I'm excited for that to finally be Out There.
Being financially secure - I had to pay out for 2 new sets of glasses the other day (my sunnies were royally fucked because of salt water and also 4 prescriptions out of date, and my everyday glasses were 2 prescriptions out of date), and being able to pay the exorbitant sum outright was a liberating feeling (there's a reason those prescriptions were out of date...).

Director's commentary on Talis and the Terrifying Errand Boy or Bilberries?
Hey Han 🧡️
Terrifying Errand Boy is based on one of the marvelous Nostalgic Breton Girl's headcanons that the Mages guild likes to send dremora as their messengers for every tiny task. It's a very fun piece, I think, and I enjoyed playing on the Oxford idea of townies vs scholars.
I toyed with the idea of Talis knowing what a dremora was, but figured it would be much more fun if he had no clue what he was looking at, which leads to what I feel is a very crisp denouement.
He's a simple, gentle soul, my baker boi, who doesn't like dealing with customers on an average day. I enjoyed the idea that once he figured out that the dremora was there to make a purchase, he'd roll out his 'customer service' façade (and if you've ever worked a customer-facing job, you'll know exactly what I mean 😅️).
Like many others, the dremora's derisive line about "little cakes" is my absolute fave, and I can assure you I was cackling as I wrote it. I'm also quite proud of the description of the jam-filled pastries splattered on the floor.
Bilberries was from a server prompt, and originally I wasn't going to do anything with it, despite the inkling of a story it had already stirred (the usual excuses - too tired, no time). But Moth prodded me with it, and ofc I cannot back down from the mere hint of a challenge.
The end of this story is what gave me the most problem. I powered through the first draft, up to the last paragraph, in one afternoon. Then I hit the last line and there just... was no ending. Gods knows how many time I tried to rewrite it, with no avail. So I went through and cleaned up what I had (falling down a rabbit hole of language on UESP, and figuring out the percentages of race in the Imperial City and a few others for kicks in the process). Still couldn't finish it. It took a full 2 months before the very last line was added and I considered it finished.
I very much enjoyed getting to explore Cygwen's character a bit more. Heathlands are one of my favourite sub-biomes, so to be able to bring them to life in the story was a joy for me.
I'm not sure I can tell you why I wrote what I did for this; sometime it's the nature of the story to write you rather than the other way around. I'm still extremely worried someone will come at me for trying to speak for immigrants when it's not my lived experience. But I do know about accidently dropping traditions and how it sort of leaves an unfinished hole in your life if you skip your tradition or ritual, kind of a 'did I lock the door' feeling. I can only assume that's what I was channeling 😅️
Thank you so much for letting me ramble about my baker boi 🧡️ I hope you enjoyed these insights.

12) "the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them"
Umm.... Hm. Ok so I'm going with a PSMD character right now because. fixation special interest reasons.
Anyways I think we should all talk about Principal Simipour more often. The adults from Serene Village don't get talked about as much as some other characters I've noticed (with a couple of, ah... Exceptions - understandable ones but still), but I really liked Simipour!
He was very calm, which made a really fun dynamic against Vice Principal Watchog who was so quick to get mad at the Hero and Partner for practically anything, I just really liked his attitude towards the students, and also...
Even if he doesn't know the Hero was telling everyone that they were a human, when Pancham calls them a liar (when they aren't) he's just like "well sometimes things that sound very believable happen to be the things that are really true in the end" and is very nice and understanding about it all, which I thought was a very nice moment during a scene where I was very worried my character was about to get in massive trouble for... Basically telling the truth?
And his much more relaxed, carefree attitude is a nice contrast to... Basically almost everyone else in the beginning aside from, like, Nuzleaf ig? And Audino maybe - but she doesn't show up as much, sooo...
Also I know he is literally just a Simipour but I like that they picked that pokemon for this character because I think the design really benefits his character, and I can totally imagine a Simipour with his sort of personality.
like- look at him!! :D

anyways yeah I think we should talk about Simipour more often. he is very good I think :D

27 and 6 for the artist ask game
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
everything around me tbh :) the inspiration always comes unexpectedly haha.
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
sometimes! if there's a lot of rendering ahead, I can start with planning/doing some sketches with my OCs. or, on the contrary, if I have to do a lot of thinking/composition planning, I can do some monotonous rendering first.

9 for the video game asks?
Sorry if it's weird for a random person you've probably never seen to be sending asks, I feel bad if I reblog ask games without sending one first.
Hi! Yeah, don't worry, I'm the same. :) I'm always happy to receive asks.
9. Favorite character from a game?
I think it would be between two:
Lucien Lachance from "TES IV: Oblivion" - I saw him like once per gave, because I always play lawful good/neutral characters, so no Dark Brotherhood - but gods damn, his voice... He sounds so hot.
Aloth Corfiser from "Pillars of Eternity" because I generally like elves and he's pretty attractive, but he also sounds good and he's mentally ill and is working though his past trauma and mistakes and he's in addition one of the most powerful mages in the game. (that sounded so weird, probably...)

WIP Wday
tagged by the astounding @thequeenofthewinter ! tagging from my follower list here: @hannahcbrown , @gwilin-stay-winnin , @druidx, @avantegarda , @archangelsammy (if you want to be tagged or not tagged in future wip wednesdays please let me know via a message or an inbox ask!)
Guilbert's leg was stretched out along the bedroll-- not that it mattered strongly. The muscles ached whether Guilbert left them stretched or if he pulled his leg back closer to the rest of his body. It was a matter of hurting or hurting slightly less.
"Agh... Thank you again for saving me." Guilbert was rubbing said injured leg lightly when he looked up. His savior, the leader of these bandits, had her back to him. He had to wonder if she was regretting her choice. Maybe wondering now whether to kill him or--
"Listen. Ya don't need to keep thankin' me." He almost didn't hear from how soft her voice was.
He sighed. "I feel as though I do?" This was the terrifying part. "Getting to know you as we did our.... work... I feel you do care about others and about doing what is right. You simply need someone to believe in the you that is deep down inside the tough and gruff bandit leader you want everyone to assume you are."
She did not answer him.
"That's just... it's something I observed." Guilbert felt his voice quickening slightly with panic. "I genuinely believe, deep down, that you're a kind person." He watched her fist clench and waited for the worst; he was going to get beaten and left for dead.
Guilbert winced, closing his eyes and bracing.
"You're kind. That's why ya see it in me." A sigh. "Look... relax your leg. Get some food an' rest tonight. And then get outta here tomorrow mornin' ya hear?"
"Huh?"
"You're not fit for bein' a bandit, Guilbert." It was the first time she'd called him by name. This and the realization he was being let go oddly left his throat as constricted as the bandit leader's now sounded. "You're too damn nice."

I'm curious if there are any quests or characters that are important to Maybeth outside of the main quest. (Not that there has to be.)
Tumblr media
I'm still feeling around which quests I like for Maybeth in her newest iteration, but I can safely say that Paranoia had a HUGE impact on her and is always lingering in the back of her mind.
Context for those who don't know, Maybeth killed Prince Geldall while possessed by Mehrunes' Razor. While possession and mental illness are by no means comparable, Glarthir assaulting her and then dying at the hands of the guard does alter her view on the traumatic events that put her in this position in the first place.

Use this picrew to make some OCs.
The limited options and very washed out colour pallet made this a bit of a challenge, but I was able to make a couple of my OCs in it.
Tumblr media
She's not exactly how I imagined her, but this is about as close as I can get to Sherry, Reader's roommate from my latest fic Solace.
It's nice to have an image for her, at last.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is a personal OC based on my late cat, Frankie. He meant the world to me, and I wanted to immortalise him as a character I can use whenever and wherever. Again, not quite right (that should be a t-shirt under his jacket, not a button up shirt), but it's close enough.
I can never decide whether I want him to have cat ears or not (I normally have him without), so you get both versions here.
This was fun! I especially liked the idea of creating an OC from one of my stories in the picrew!
No pressure tags (I just think you'll like this one) : @sneakyfox55, @vrnicky, @lizzie-tempest and anyone else who wants to.

tagged by @elavoria for a wip extract... i'm currently figuring out lunette's first (proper) meeting with jim stacey. his characterisation is based very much on his wonderful legends card and the fact that he is the most perfect gentleman in morrowind
[...] but there he was, perfectly natural, feet up on the corner of his table, dressed more impeccably than the whole of House Hlaalu put together. When he spoke, it was in the same even tones I’d heard, before; and with the same sparkle on their fringes, – ‘The woman of the hour,’ said he beaming: ‘a glass of something? – I have much the same selection, curiously enough, as the Black Shalk Cornerclub above us. Do take a seat.’ ‘It is a pleasure and an honour,’ said I entirely without excess. I took the seat offered: which itself had, I believe, been taken from one of the Council manors: and he straightening, crossed his bestockinged legs. The glasses and the cutlery, I likewise thought I knew from somewhere. He decanted a fine Cyrodiilic brandy, – not the best vintage he had: that one was for ransom and not for drinking apparently, – and tapped his glass to mine. ‘I have had all the news of Balmora,’ said he, ‘which is terribly impolite of me, for I might have asked it of you. Tell me: how are you finding Morrowind?’

What is the titan fighting fantasy ttrpg? I could look it up but asking is funner. XD
//rubs hands together. cracks knuckles// Right
The Fighting Fantasy books were created by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson (also known for Games Workshop and other genre RPG games). You're probably aware of them, as they spawned the massively popular Choose your own Adventure style of books during the 1980s
They then took all information about the world they'd created, shown through the gaming books, and collated it into one volume about the setting. (I believe there is also an actual TTRPG using the game mechanics from the books, but we always used D&D 3rd ed).
Now, let us spin back the wheel of time. It's 2005. You're a young professional getting ready to move out of home, but not quite ready to leave the refuge of the Fantasy and SF genres. You've played D&D before, but it's been fleeting one-shots or campaigns that crumbled after a few sessions.
Then your mate says, "I want to GM a game. Here, have a look at the setting and tell me what you think." You think it sounds bloody marvellous. What you don't know is that for the next 20-odd years, it's going to become precious to you in unimaginable ways. (What you also don't know is that you should've invested in a dictaphone or taken better notes. Oh, for a time-machine!) You choose a race that has half a paragraph of description, because you like playing shortarses, and you start playing.
The world is vast and wonderful, filled with exciting characters and excotic places. Your characters travel miles, players come and go, you have to start a wiki just to keep track of who and where everything is (especially since the books' canon is no longer your canon). You stop a few times - there's inter-group conflict, you try other systems - but always you come back to Allansia, to the Pagan Plains and your second home: Toreguard.
After 13 years and only two characters, I stopped playing in 2018. But 'stopped playing' doesn't mean 'stopped thinking about' - there's still plenty of stories to regale and expand about two little Woodlings and the people whose lives they've crossed.
So yes, you could look it up, but you'd only get the facts in the first paragraph. It's a lot harder to find the details of this specific TTRPG, as it's locked in the heads of a few specific people 😅️
Thank you so much for the question - it brings me much joy to waffle about the FF/Titan world, and my little Alexis and Elowyn.

Writing Patterns/First 10 Lines Tag Game
I was tagged by @hannahcbrown and I'm going to try tagging ten other people: @gwilin-stay-winnin , @druidx, @redadm1ral , @solnishka1927 , @thequeenofthewinter , @sylvienerevarine , @avantegarda , @genericswordsmaiden , @dirty-bosmer , @ryns-ramblings and if I didn't get you here consider yourself tagged!
Rules: list the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there’s a pattern!
eye of a storm
“I want to discuss the weather outside and maybe thank you again for coming out here during a storm-- but all I can think of is other stuff I want to talk about.”
2. imperial healthcare
“Please Baurus, some more leaves. The lady’s mantle, if there’s any--”
3. well, well, well
Miraina had been staring at this peculiar structure since quite a bit of time after she and her gang had set up camp in the fort close by.
4. rime and reason
Celes had been chosen for her headstrong nature.
5. experience, the best teacher
She should not be thoroughly surprised that Corvus would freely speak of something outlandish to her.
6. daedalus
An odd inclination had afflicted Besrudio Bunansa as of late.
7. mother, mother
“It’s so crowded in here now…”
8. fealty
The dark knight swallowed his own fear even though it tasted parched and faintly of copper, bringing a gloved hand to the underside of the Emperor’s outstretched hand.
9. father, you believed
It was time to return home.
10. gladly beyond
Ruvelia’s eyes lingered on Orinas as the courier scooped him up.
So the main pattern I see is that I like to get straight into the action of the story-- just immediately right hook people with it. And not only that but showing off the state of the POV character in a succinct manner (usually) XD
