Challenge: "Watching him sleep"

This one is a little short, probably not what you've expected, but I've written enough M-rated ones already, so I need to break it up a little. Also I'm hungry af when I write this.

He reminded her of someone.

A long time ago, as her memories served her, she too had once laid her eyes upon the same shade of hair, tousled in sleep, as she ran her fingers through them in hopes that she could assess the situation to her best attempt.

Face scrunching, her hand had stopped in fear of disturbing him, but he had only yawned without opening his eyes, not even once. She had made sure to bundle him with enough blankets to keep warm, though they had not entered winter yet.

Still autumn.

His hair reminded her of the autumn leaves…

His warmth too. When he held her close in his arms, their shared laughter ringing in the forest as he had just caught her at her attempt at fleeing. They had forgotten their shoes at the riverbank, his clothes soaked from her playful splash and now so was hers by the way he held her, kept her in place.

He was always so handsome.

It was autumn too, when he had kissed her. Gale circled around them while her hands dug into his hair while his had cradled her head and held her by the small of her back while she stood on the tips of her toes to accommodate the difference in their height.

But it was winter when he had laid in her bed. His fingers intertwined with hers, green eyes never leaving blue ones as both basked in each other’s warmth during the cold night, so cold that a puff of white cloud came out of his lips whenever he breathed.

It was spring when he left. To explore the world, to see what they never saw before. He had held his hand out for her to take, inviting her to join him. A part of her wanted to take that calloused hand and held tight, but the other part of her told her to say. The latter won.

It had been years since she last saw him.

She was not surprised by it. The world is big, wide, and there were many places he could visit and stayed in. After all, even a royal travel could last for months on schedule. She never waited for him, never stood at the beach where she last watched his ship sailed. If he wished to return then he knew where to go, he knew where he would find her.

The thought of looking for him did cross her mind, once or twice. On the Nokk’s back she could travel far and wide in a short amount of time, she could cross the harshest waters in no time after all. But she didn’t.

Because she later discovered that she was with child and she couldn’t just leave now, could she?

That child had grown now, two years old, her darling son, tailed her wherever she go. The Northuldra adored him, and so did his aunt after the shock of her older sister having a child out of wedlock worn off, a complete sweetheart with dimpled bright smile.

He reminded her of his father, even in his sleep.

This was not what I originally had in mind for this week at all. Actually this drawing wasn't supposed to be anything more than a quick little warmup sketch I just had to get out of my system, but once I shared it, the collab potential took over and we got this lovely group project piece out of it instead~ ♥️

how did you learn to get better at drawing Hanselsa/characters?

I always thought that artist usually have some trick to draw well anatomy or landscape. I just found out recently that the only way to get it is practice.

My 2017 fanart had super strange shape face, weird hands and creepy smile (I drew mouth too big.) I study face at first because it's notable. Then, study poses and hands (I draw portrait often so it's so important!) nowadays I learn how to draw perspective and I'm suck at it lmao. I'm give up.

so who do I ship?

Well this is a post idea that just came to mind randomly a few weeks ago, and just thought about it again earlier and decided to go through with it so here we are. This is not hating on any ships, this is just what ships I do and don’t ship.

- KristAnna, The Cannon One: It’s the Cannon one, I accept it, it’s cute, I like I guess, I don’t actively “ship It” because well it’s cannon and I like other ships more.

- ElsAnna, The Popular one: I like it. It’s cool, lots of great art, I even wrote a fanfic about it once, so yeah I guess I kinda ship it, try not to mention it outside of tumblr because I hate having to explain it to people.

- HansAnna, the other one: Don’t care Don’t Ship, Hans is a fuckboi.

- HansElsa, the other other one: Don’t Care Don’t Ship, Hans is still a fuck boi, and I’ve always been more of an Anna Guy.

- Kristelsa, is that even a thing? idk don’t ship it

- Annacest, Anna x Anna, the rare one no one talks about: I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this one but I kinda secretly ship Anna...and Anna. It’s the character I like shipped with another version of the character I like. Does it make sense? ehh not really, but I still love it all the same.

- Anna x Myself, The one true ship (in my mind): The one that I actually shipped for multiple years of my life, with some Soaring Highs and Deep Ass Lows. Does this really count as a Ship? probably not but I’d figure I’d mention it anyways
