it’s been good! i hope you’re doing well ❤️❤️ here’s some soldier!jeno who’s only recently come home. disclaimer: i don’t actually support the military industrial system to the extent it exists today

strong arms wrap around your midsection from behind you, and jeno rests his chin against your shoulder not a moment later. he’s always been like a human furnace, but as you sink into his chest, you finally realize just how much you’ve missed him. he’s been home from deployment for the past two weeks, but you’re still getting used to life with him right beside you. it’s the best adjustment you’ve ever had to make.

“come to bed,” he murmurs, pressing his nose into the place where your jaw meets your ear. jeno places a chaste kiss, the kind you wish you could get tattooed on your skin to save for eternity, against your neck as if it’ll prove the point he’s yet to make. “it’s getting late.”

“watch the rain with me.” you respond, voice just as soft as his. the big bay window in your bedroom has been put to good use over the years, and tonight is no different. your heavy curtains are drawn to frame the panes as you sit on top of the soft cushions jeno and you had picked out when you’d first bought the house. nature is indecipherable - that much is sure to you as you stare at the raging downpour outside.

“it’s been some time since i’ve seen rain like this.” jeno gives in easily to you, because you suppose that old habits die hard. he’d enlisted early, a byproduct of a broken system that made it easy to take advantage of those socioeconomically disadvantaged. your husband calls himself the broken pawn to the broken government because he’d come from a broken home. he yawns, breaking your train of thought, and suddenly you feel bad: maybe you should go to bed with him.

before you can suggest sleeping, jeno nudges you gently, forcing you to move over just enough for him to squeeze into the space between you and the wall. he sets you in between his legs as best you can, and once you’re both comfortable, you lay your head back against his sturdy chest once more.

as you drift off to sleep against jeno, your jeno, you know that you never want to spend another night apart from him again. as he nods off, his chin on top of your head, he knows that he never wants to watch the rain with you by his side again.

on another note, i must ask that you do not refer to jungkook as g**k again, as it is seen as a racial slur for people of east/southeast asian descent as opposed to romanization of his korean name, which is usually written in one of two ways: jeongguk or jungkook. referring to jungkook as “kook” or “guk” are both perfectly fine and widely used, but g**k is first and foremost a slur and should never be said, not even in this context. thank you for understanding!

i'm not on break yet but we do have a snowday today !! which makes me super happy bc i love and adore snow lol. though i've been super busy with classes and college stuff so haven't had much time to write :(
