Also a regular member of the BIPOC solidarity club. Dimitri, Dorothea, Ashe and Constance are the token white allies.
(mental health spiraling) "haha puberty/hormones :) No need to discuss these new symptoms with anyone, it's just normal teenager things" (it is not normal teenage things)
Annette

girl ADHD :)
she got a B on a chem test one and cried about it for 2 days straight
"Maybe if I get all A and get this many awards and get this many scholarships, my dad will love me :)" (girl.. :( )
Frenemies with Lysithea. They're buddies until it's time for exams. Then it's war. There can only be one valedictorian. (death note's "I'll take a potato chip and eat it" songs plays in the background)
Olivia Rodrigo stan
Sylvain
Hasn't said "okay i'm sorry that I looked at Mrs Riley and lightly grazed her left tit" but has said that exact same thing

He's in Lacross AND theatre. Ice hockey AND Ice dancing and figure skating. He can do both, he's bisexual
Has to pick between a major sport game and his theatre show. His dad wants him to follow his dream and do the game but Sylvain is getting ready to tell him "no dad i'm giving up your dream." He backs out. He goes to the game.
"You got a perfect score on the college entrance exams?" "Why is it hard?" (he studied so much)
Ingrid
"Gay people are real??? They don't just exist in San Francisco and on Glee???" /gen confusion. Not in a homophobic way, she's just raised in a conservative environment and instead of going on the internet, she hangs out with her horses (Just wait till she finds out about trans people)
When her family was going through a particularly hard financial time, her friends started packing extra lunch. They all know she doesn't accept handouts but Ingrid will never say no to leftovers.
So chronically offline. Who's Billie Eilish? What's Succession? What is Rizz?? They're making another Spider-Man movie!?
Dedue
Vice-president of the BIPOC solidarity club. The school gives them club money and he uses it to make food for the members.
"..." "Go on" "Down with... gringo?" *Claude, Petra, Felix, Cyril, Hapi, Constance, Dimitri, Ashe and Dorothea all clap*
Football/Basketball/Hockey couches keep trying to recruit him. He just wants to garden.
(Tw racism and ref to violence to poc men) "I don't want to antagonist white people. As a large brown man, I'm already perceived as a threat." "That's ok! Your safety comes first. I got this," Dorothea says as she throws eggs at someone's car with a confederate flag.
Mercedes
"I'm joining the war on liberation theology on the side of liberation theology."
"Mercedes! Can you explain your tardiness?" "Forgive me, professor, I was at morning mass." (She was. But she's late because she stop to smoke a blunt.)
In her most angelic, big sister voice, "fuck TradCaths 😊"
Somehow still failing her religious studies class
(tw cults and implied anti semitic conspiracy) Raised in a religious cult where her step dad was the leader until she and her mom escaped. Because of this, did not know Jewish people were real. "I knew they were people in the bible but all I knew was [redact]" (Don't worry, she knows better now that she's not in a literal cult)
Felix
"I fucking hate my dad" "why? Is it cause he didn't accept you being queer/trans?" "No, he was cool with that. He's just fucking annoying."
"Ingrid, what the hell, I'm literally trans. You know this. We've been friends since we were in diapers." "Oh. I forgot." "YOU FORGOT!?"
Wasian. (tw sui joke) @ Dimitri and Sylvain "stop joking about killing yourself--you're appropriating my culture, assholes."
Secret Olivia Rodrigo fan. He only listens to her music on youtube + incognito mode. Only Annette knows. Annette manages to get them concert tickets were they run into Lysithea.
Ashe
Spider-Man stan on main. Somehow he convinces Dedue to be his Ned Leeds to his Peter Parker for Halloween
He knows Ingrid would like the MCU if she watched it, but she's scared of needing to watch 10000 movies
*slaps Ashe's back* You can pack so much anxiety in this guy
Started school in the middle of the year because he's a foster kid. Rumors started spread about him being a harden criminal because he went to juvie. He keeps tries to correct them and say he's never been but Caspar keeps fueling the rumors
"Caspar! Stop telling people I went to juvie! That never happened!" "...You... lied to me? :(" "You made it up!" "Oooh. Right."

ORV aka one of the greatest love stories I've ever read
The title says it all, our beloved novel is one of the greatest love stories written and it doesn't belong to the romance genre (as far as I know anyway).
I won't go in to heavy detail but this has a lot of spoilers (you've been warned)
I see ORV as a love story of many.
It's a love story of a man whose love for reading webnovels consumed his life, became his reason to keep moving forward, his reason to survive, his reason to protect and his reason to die. He valued the lives of characters more than his and deemed his suffering minor compared to theirs. He would throw his life away, even trying to take it with his hands, if it meant they would live happily because he wanted them to be happy (even if he couldn't be part of that hapiness).
The love story of a writer that wrote for a single reader even when it seemed impossible. A writer that would sacrifice the world for her reader if it meant he would survive and live to see another day.
A love story between a sword and shield. They were brought together because of a reader, fought together, suffered together and inevitably separated by their memories of said reader.
A love story between a mother and child with common enemies known as 'shared suffering', 'lack of comunication' and 'misunderstanding'. The mother that sacrificed her life for her son, that sold her life story in hopes of protecting him, that treasured every story he told when he visited and was hurt that a fictional character was the one her son loved most but grateful said character helped him survive when she couldn't. The son that felt betrayed by his mother and came to resent her but fought with all he had to keep her alive and well.
The love story of a protagonist that lived for his companions. A protagonist that sacrificed his limbs, mind and life to protect the people he cared about. He was ready to become a demon king, fated to die at the hands of his companions, if it meant they would get to the conclusion. A man that loved his sister and wished to protect her with all he had even when she appeared in his life without any warning.
The love story of companions that would forsake their comfort, cross world lines and give up all they had to save each other. They found strength in hope and when they were out of hope, they became each others' strength and reason to keep going.
*falls to my knees* THERE'S SO MUCH LOVE IN THIS NOVEL I CAN'T TYPE IT ALL
I'll just end this with some of my favourite quotes (I spent an hour searching for these babies)
"Kim Dokja had learned how to live from this man. This man was my father; my brother; and my oldest friend."
"This story is for just that one reader."
"That man is the world I wish to save."
"Even then, you only chose to read and nothing else. ...Because that is our way of living. You acted, and I read you doing it."
"Not everything can be expressed in sentences."
"I just wanted to say it once. I don't think I've ever told you before."
"I love you, Heewon-ssi."
"If this story can really save you...If you regained just a litle of your memories and remember us just one more time...Then I'l keep writing the epilogue for you until the end of time, for eternity."
"I lost the safety pin. I thought that I shouldn't lose it again."
"Tell me, you fool. If I continue to regress, will I ever get to meet you again?"
"I looked at Yoo Jonghyuk's miserable face and thought: Don't worry Yoo Joonghyuk. I'll do the rest. You stop and rest."
"Demon King of Salvation. I shall pray that you may continue to exist somewhere, too."
"Just because I will forget about them, that doesn't mean they'll suddenly stop existing. They definitely continue to live in this world."
"Yoo Joonghyuk smiled faintly."
"If you get a chance to run again, do you believe you can see it better the next time?"
"Because of your story, I was able to survive until now."
"Even then, this was the story Kim Dokja dearly wished to create."
"And fortunately enough, this story happened to be the one I loved the most."
"In the end, to every human being, the most precious thing was themselves. And Kim Dokja risked everything of his, always."

When I first read this my first thought was, "Nooooooooo Chip you don't have to you can stay with Sonado- I mean Sonic and Shadow-" But then I stopped to think about things and honestly? This is probably one of Chip's smartest decisions yet.
Chip, as of right now, hasn't really provided too much to his new group of friends other than being like a little angel on their shoulders to encourage them. Chip doesn't see his efforts as very beneficial to Sonic and Shadow, and their growing bond is accidentally tearing him apart from the two. He's slowly but surely losing his sense of meaning, losing his determination and hope.
TL;DR, Chip feels left out and doesn't feel like he's providing enough overall.
However, Chip is recognizing that with the others, he feels a lot more happy and a lot more helpful. He has much more determination at the thought of joining Tails and Knuckles on their journey to wherever, (I forgot what they're doing and I don't have time to go back and check) and he knows this. Chip recognizes that he isn't as needed with Sonic and Shadow anymore, and if you combine that with the fact that he just got reprimanded by Shadow for the very first time, well... He would just like to get along with the others for now.
While this is a relatively disappointing revelation for Sonic and Shadow, since we know it was never their intention to hurt Chip and make him feel this way, it's a smart decision overall and we should be happy for Chip for making this choice. It's surprisingly mature for someone who just started his physical existence like a week or two ago.
I do feel really bad or double S though because I can only imagine how guilty they must feel about this situation. Sonic especially! Poor guy's already got enough going on and now his adorable travel buddy is ditching him.
Speaking of Sonic, one thing I noticed is that one panel where it shows the bottom of his new shoes. The long, yellow spikes represent Sonic's current physical and emotional state. Sonic feels ugly, both inside and out, due to his constant Werehog state that he turns into at nighttime. He doesn't feel right, like something is tearing him apart bit by bit until he inevitably suffocates and dies. This feeling is represented in the sharpness and ugliness of the spikes, if it's not just the fact that they are spikes in general. Because spikes, as we know in Sonic games, aren't really insta-kills, but they hurt like hell! In a more realistic setting like this one where taking damage is the equivalent to getting realistically injured, (lol I said realistic twice) spikes obviously hurt way more than they do in-game. This panel shows that Sonic is in pain internally due to the amount of spikes, and this allegory is amplified with the look and feel of them. It doesn't help that they are a part of Sonic now, being attached to his shoes and all. This also represents the way that these spikes, or this undeniable ugliness that Sonic feels, is a part of him now. At least until he takes the shoes off, which will likely be after the whole Dark Gaia situation, in which he may put his normal shoes back on.
TL;DR (again) there is a ton of symbolism in just one panel that shows the bottom of Sonic's shoes and I spend way too much time analyzing it all.
There's so much more I wanna talk about with just this panel alone but this is getting really long and I am in the MIDDLE OF CLASS so I should probably continue this later. Thanks for reading and I really like your comic! (Can you tell)
I THOUGHT I REPLIED TO THIS OH MY GOD
PLEASE KNOW THAT I READ THIS BACK THEN AND I READ IT AGAIN AND IT MAKES ME VERY HAPY AND IM SUPER INTERESTED IN HEARING ALL UR OTHER THEORIES IN THE FUTURE AS WELL

In Fodlan, are the crest and nobility power structures one and the same? It doesn’t really seem like one could exist without the other but you have characters like Hapi who just aren’t nobility despite having a crest. So it seems that crests make you a noble sometimes but it’s still bad news if you’re from a noble family and are crestless.
Fodlan lore is quite perplexing,
Well here is what I remember, but from my memories those are actually separated structure ?
The 10 Elites all had descendant from which come the nobility however because Fodlan is Fodlan we learn that not all nobles have a crest because Crest can skip a generation.
For example, in the Gautier house, Matthias posseses a Crest however Miklan doesn't, it's Sylvain who has the Crest. Same thing, Ingrid have a Crest but her brothers doesn't.
Normally being crestless often result in the child in question to not become the heir, that was the case for Miklan. However, we do learn of nobles that don't have a Crest without knowing more about their mansion, for example Hanneman's brother in law who married Hanneman's crestless's sister and still hoped that they could have a Crest baby since Crest can skip generations.
Likewise, House Bartel's leader, Baron Bartel did not have a Crest and had to marry Mercie's mother to be able to have Crest babies to pass on the Crest of Lamine
We also learn of nobles so desperate to have a child with a Crest because they don't have one to pass down to their heir that they had marriage with lower nobles or adopted Crested commoners.
So logically this would mean that nobility is independent from Crest. I say logically because the Lady in Red would disagree with me but again, there is 3 story instances that contradict her : Hubert, Miklan and Caspar.
Hubert is still a noble despite not having a Crest. Now granted, he killed his father and then inherited the title because of what his father did to Eddie but point still stand. In Miklan's case, the problem is that we are told that as the first heir, normally he should have inherited the title but he didn't because Sylvain have a Crest which means that should Sylvain not have a Crest, Miklan would have in normal times inherited according to the rule of first born. Likewise, in her support with Caspar Eddie gives him a speech about why people should be judge for their capacity... thing is Caspar is the second son of his household so the reason why he didn't became heir isn't because of Crest but because he is the second son since in a normal noble system he would not inherit anyway and Miklan's plotline implies that the noble system is in reality separated from the Crest system so this means that Caspar's only way to inherit would have been to have a Crest since as the second son he wouldn't.
Now this gets even more convoluted because even if none of them have Crest they can still give birth to a Crested heir... meaning that this system makes hardly any sense since even if a child is Crestless they can still give birth to someone who has a crest. In fact, my memory serves me right but each time we bring the parents of the student, only 1 parents is said to have a Crest, the other parent who is also usually a noble is not said to have one, in fact I think the only case of 2 crested parent's is... Byleth.... yeah.
Now that is from what I recall, I do think that 3H was trying to establish that the nobility is based on the Crest system but that was rather sloppylily done

If you don't mind explaining, why are all of the Ashen Wolves in the "Ew" tier, save for Constance?
i saw your fe3h tierlist and i’m super curious to know why you don’t vibe w/ yuri/hapi/balthus lol
I've actually already explained why I don't like Balthus or Hapi a few times by now lmao, but finding those posts is annoying soooo yeah I'll just say it again it here:
got long and character hate under the cut it goes
Balthus' character starting point of "gambling moocher with a kind heart beneath it all" annoys the ever loving shit out of me off rip, so he already has a bad leg in the race for me. The main thing that makes me hate him though is his shitty fuckin' supports with Claude. He comes off as a major creep here, blackmailing a teenager with sensitive information that could literally get him killed if the wrong person finds it and which Claude is visibly shown to be uncomfortable with Balthus knowing and visibly shown to not trust Balthus in knowing even after five years of him revealing that he knows it (long enough to, y'know, show that he can be trusted with this information by now)... all to try to fuck this kid's mom. Who he saw only a few times, by his own admission. And nearly 20 fuckin' years ago.
And then Balthus shows that he really shouldn't be trusted with this information, because the only reason he keeps it is because he's under the belief that Claude will, in fact, meet him up with Tiana. If Claude finds that idea, well, fuckin' creepy and weird and doesn't want to go through with it, well, tough shit I guess! It's laughed off by the end of the chain but god it's just so fuckin' scummy and weird and creepy dude.
And sad thing is, there's a part in the A support where Claude goes to Balthus for some advice and Balthus gives some that genuinely helps Claude out some - where the fuck is this for the rest of the chain? It comes out of nowhere and is then buried by the aforementioned "don't worry I won't tell anyone your secrets since you will meet me up with your mom, right?" shit. If the support had more of that or built up to it better I'd be more than happy, but as is? Just makes me bench Balthus lmao.
Hapi is just. Annoying. Supremely annoying. Her characters makes sense to be the way it is in most ways, but hearing her go on about how much she hates the Church (to the point of cheering on Lonato, mind you, despite his shit killing innocent people) becomes grating very quickly.
Okay so like. I was under the impression that she was thrown in some dungeons before she was moved to the Abyss, but like. Rechecking her supports to make sure, she literally says that she was moved to Abyss? And... nothing else? And that's why she hates the Church? Like she mentions nothing about any dungeon the Church threw her in. Which means she compares being trapped and chained and tortured by Cornelia, alone, in who-know-where... to living in a underground mini-society, with guaranteed food and relative safety (enough for her sigh problem to be able to be dealt with should it cause trouble). So like. Yeah no she just got worse lol.
But either way her attitude is just. Very annoying lmao. To be clear, there are things that happen that make it make sense why she's like this (like her A support with Ashe) - she's a fine enough character. Just doesn't help her for me personally.
Yuri is... kinda specific as to why I just don't like him. He's this guy who literally didn't exist before DLC paid him into reality, but he walks in and
he's lived on the streets
he's lived as a noble
he's a gang lord
he's been a spy for the Church
he's been an assassin
he's a great tactician
and oh yeah he's
FUCKING
19
WHEN YOU FIRST MEET HIM.
I don't mean to call him a Gary Stu or anything - because I don't think he is one - but I do mean to say that he comes in with waaaaaay too much shit in his kit when he first walks up on the block for me. He's just done everything off jump, and those kind of characters are a huge pet peeve of mine.
Not helped with the joyful fandom experience as a Claude fan to have to hear about this bozo being Better Claude Better Claude Better Claude, about how he should have been a lord and not Claude since he's actually smart unlike Claude. That was fun! And unfortunately tanked his already middling stance for me a looooooot.
The only reason Constance is saved is because holy shit, is this girly hilarious. The sheer degree of her melodrama/arrogance in her day and night phases get me cackling. She's a character I don't really take seriously at all and just laugh along the ride she brings, which is a rare thing for me to want do with a character in 3H lmao

1 learnt abt ND concept pretty recently so please excuse and ignore this question if I sound stupid
I know every person around is simply an appearance/illusion and that they don't exist. There's this shopkeeper who smiles at me very weirdly and whenever I return home from the store I feel totally depressed and I'm not able to get out of my bed until I've taken a nap. As I text this I'm glued in bed trying to forget about him. I can't even eat the snacks l've bought bc they’re from his store and seeing them reminds me of him.
I don't know how to reassure myself that, "he's not real, he's an illusion, he can't hurt me.” But it feels more like an attempt to be aware (of him not existing) rather than simply being aware.
Is there a pointer for this? I want to calm my anxiety and reduce my dread they feel overbearing and I’d like a pointer that I can see every now and then
Hello !
No it's not stupid at all !
First of al forgetting all of this just be careful <3
You can talk to me anytime, not a therapist but you know 🥹
Honestly it's very freaking scary situation, focusing on your breath and sense of awareness.
Take a breath, focus on it, solely. Whatever thoughts comes up, let them. Just be. Be present in the now. Whenever you become aware of anxiety, take a step back. And focus on your breath again, relax your body, and become aware of being aware.
It's okay to feel those emotions, just remind yourself who you are .
"Am I aware?"
"Who is aware?"
I'm sad that you can't enjoy your snacks with hapiness. You shouldn't stop living normally because of a man.

*Places a soapbox by your feet and hands you a microphone* So what did you think of the Ashen Wolves?
I love the rat people. Fantastic characters. Their wide spectrum of backgrounds and situations contribute a lot to the worldbuilding, they feel integrated into the world despite their late addition, they're strong additions to the theme and messages of the story, and they have a cohesive dynamic between them that makes them actually feel like friends for years. If you think about their situation for more than five seconds it's kind of insane. I like how Yuri pretended to betray them and literally only Balthus bought it. I also just fucking love Yuri. He's so fantastic. Obsessed with him. You will notice this very quickly.
I think Yuri catfishes men on Grindr. Balthus gets catfished on Tinder and Yuri has to save him from getting scammed out of $200 for stolen feet pics. Hapi is a League of Legends addict who once said a curse word on the chat and accidentally blew up their server. Constance rebuilds her family's wealth by selling cryptocurrency to finance bros. They all live in the same shitty basement apartment that is literally never clean. Yuri pretends to be whatever sign is compatible with yours. How does he know your sign? You're asking too many questions.
Yuri will non-stop aggressively try and convince Byleth that he's a terrible person, mostly because he is the best person in the game and he resents it. He's such a fascinating counterpoint to Dimitri/Claude/Edelgard, who all pretend to be great people when they actually all suck a bit. Balthus tried to be a good person for about five seconds before giving up and wandering way to go play pool, in an insanely selfless and giving maneuver. Hapi resents existing and she's mostly a good person because it's too much effort not to care about people. Constance does good things because it fluffs her ego and would be very surprised to discover that she is, actually, a good person. They all think the other three are complete losers and they don't know why they hang out. They are the only actual found family in the game. Gay People (TM).
In Cindered Shadows, I HC that he was sleeping with Aelfric. Cindered Shadows was fucking wild, by the way.

re: that ask about people salting because Adrien's wish in jubilation was regarding romance and not something of his own - but in a way, isn't it right though? The show especially from season 4 has put Adrien in this box of 'Love interest whose existence is mainly dependent on their romance'? Adrien could've been a complex character and they could've explored his grief of his mother's death (because if she'd died a year earlier, no amount of optimism would lead him to be as cheerful - speaking as someone who has had to deal with a loss), but instead put him in this 'supporter' role. While marinette gets to have her own story and ~angst about her guardianship and her ~ trauma Adrien just...stays optimistic despite having much more serious issues and problems in his life ? And people then get mad when we get mad Adrien is being treated so badly by the narrative...Even gabriel gets treated with much more depth and care by the narrative when Adrien is the punching bag for it
Okay, life story! When my father died, I was the quickiest to mourn him. I helped out my older brother with the farm but after 6 months, I couldn't take it anymore of this routine and signed up to an university class in another region to get away and moved on. Why was it so fast for me? Because most of my mourning started when my father was still alive because he was sick (he died from an aneurysm rupture in the end, but at least it was quicker than his untreatable illness which would have been painful for him).
So, yeah, I understand Adrien, who got a sick parent before losing them. So tell me, Anon, am I -- or anyone -- an inhuman person to you because I don't want my father back even though I loved him?! No and neither is Adrien.
Because there is no typical mourning process. It's not a set amount of time then you are done. Some will go through it in a few months. Some will be mourning for several years. And it will be different between each members of the same family (and I speak from experience too).
Heck people can still be missing their dead love ones but still have the right to laugh during the process!
Adrien has done his mourning process and is trying to live his life. And new episode Passion also showed us it was also his mother's wish for him and Gabriel. Because she accepted she was going to die and wanted both of them to still find hapiness.
Unlike Gabriel, Adrien has moved on, but right now, the kid is rather inexperience in life. He is barely starting to define himself because, NEWSFLASH, not only has he lost his mother, but he is an abused child whose parent decided in his place what was best for him for years and were overprotective and didn't allow him the liberty to be himself. Adrien said it himself, as a kid, he wanted to be what his parents wanted him to be and never question what he truly wanted himself until recently (Wishmaker). Adrien has started to affirm himself, make life experiences and slowly gain independance outside the familial cell. Of course he has no clear idea.
So, of course Adrien can feel like a blank canvas at time, he is just starting to figure himself out! But since S1, we do know what he likes and what doesn't. He doesn't like to be a model. He was doing it initially to please his father. He is selfless and likes to please others. He has immense empathy. He loves to have fun. He makes puns. He hates lies. He doesn't want to travel the world. He wants to be with his friends, but above all, he wants an happy life with the person he loves. See? He is not a wax statue. He is a fictional character in a story build around a romance and going through a coming of age.
Finally, there is nothing wrong for Adrien to long for love, warmth and a family of his own in his life, especially after lacking it for a while. Heck, if he were to decide to be a homemaker as his civilian occupation, would that offense you? There are women who despite having all opportunities to take any career choose to stay at home. Not because it is expected out of them, but because they want to be there for their kid. Just like there are people who are satisfied to just have a normal job instead of being a CEO or something.
So, it isn't weird if a fictional character and a male one at that become like this.

@opaleyedprince hope you don't mind, but i decided to answer here as i do have particulars concerning the crest users who are immune to the poison effects :D
First and foremost, anyone with a crest associated with one of the Four Apostles is immune. So, within the game, that means: Yuri, Constance, Balthus, and Hapi are all immune. Many speculations exists as to why those crests are always immune, but some believe it lends strength to the theory that Apollinaris was the fifth Apostle. He might have opposed their use of the Chalice of Beginnings, but he likely still considered them allies and friends; or, perhaps, the immunity is derived from the guilt he felt at opposing them.
Likewise, those bearing the crest of Seiros are immune. Interestingly, however, of the in-game characters who possess said crest, only Rhea is truly immune; Edelgard could likely withstand it, but she isn't fully immune and the same goes for Jeralt. Clovis believes that Rhea's position is what grants her the full immunity, as she is, of the three, "closer to Seiros" and thus, gets to reap the benefits. Apollinaris was devoted entirely to Seiros during his life, and that devotion passes along with both his bloodline and his crest.
And now if you'll allow me to be cringe...
As you might have guessed, the final crest bearer is Dimitri. Apollinaris had no actual connection to Blaiddyd, and thus, the immunity that Dimitri has is not connected to his crest at all — rather, it is connected to himself, and the 'darkness' within him.
The Crest of Apollinaris is, by it's very nature, one of healing. Clovis himself believes that the crest can sense the pain within Dimitri and wishes to heal it, despite it not actually being a physical wound and, thus, outside of it's scope. This isn't an entirely unfounded theory; Clovis is often drawn toward helping others, even when his healing abilities would be useless, and while a lot of that is his natural kindness, the crest amplifies the need. Apollinaris was a healer, a helper, and that has been essentially embedded into the very nature of the crest itself. Dimitri later admits that whenever he's even just standing near Clovis, he can hear a gentle melody; a soothing tune that quiets the guilt.
Interestingly, since you mentioned the bow: while the crest seeks to heal Dimitri, the Arrows of Akesios do work on binding him. Early on during the campaign against Edelgard, Clovis is forced to use one on Dimitri in order to calm him after a battle. He maintains the bond during the entirety of the war, a sort of 'fail-safe' to keep Dimitri in check, as again — his life is intertwined with the 'beast' he's bound to, so if Dimitri perishes, then so will he.
This is partly why I chose the name Lyceius for the bow; one possible etymological meaning is derived from lukos, thus "the wolf-slayer" and honestly, that just tickled me so much I had to use it.

I can't help but think it's really fun to theorise about the potential two next Bandori vocal synths, and I decided to write down my favourite tinfoil hat theory.
In Episode 8 of Season 3 of the anime, the bands all stay in hot springs. They're each given a room with a name that's clearly shown to the viewer.
The two first are "POPPY" for PoPiPa and "ROSE" for Roselia. Any good tinfoil-hat wearer will notice that those were the two first Bandori vsynth.
So if we're to imagine that this was on purpose……… or most likely, that the names are inspirations that exist in the writing room, we could have fun figuring:
The order in which they were shown:
PoPiPa (POPY)
Roselia (ROSE)
Hello, Happy World
Pastel*Palettes
RAISE A SUILEN
Afterglow
(Although alternatively, having RAS be the third vocal would be funny because they used to be named "THE THIRD")
2. The possible name for each vocal: - PoPiPa (Kasumi) = POPPY = POPY - Roselia (Yukina) = ROSE = ROSE - Hello, Happy World (Kokoro) = HAPPY (ハッピー Happī) = HAPPY…? HAPY? HAPI? - Pastel*Palettes (Aya) = GARDEN (百花 Hyakka) = I don't know honestly, but it sounds close enough to Aya's name. Though if we're going for an English-sounding name…… still no idea - RAS (LAYER) = WATERLILY (睡蓮 Suiren) = while there's an obvious opportunity to name her "LILY", that name is charged, vsynth-wise. Also, while it may have stood for "waterlily" here, the Suiren in RAS' name means "green bamboo blind". Still, the obvious 4-letter flower name would be Lily, re: how POPY and ROSE were named. - Afterglow (Ran) = MOONFLOWER (夕顔 Yūgao) = Funny opportunity to name her "YouGO!!!!!" but that's just me. Possibly "MOON".
This means that our two potential next candidates are, assuming that Aya is not completely out the window since they only took back her VA recently, the lovely "HAPY...?" and "no idea"!
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, unless the animators coincidentally happened to care about the vocal synth part of BanG Dream!'s promotional material, I don't think the order they were shown in means anything - it just had to do with whichever characters were going to be on-screen at that time. It would be extremely cool if it were true, but it would be more likely to happen with a smaller franchise.
When it comes to the names, though, I think there's a chance that they're names the writing room + promo agree on associating to the bands. Especially with how clearly they were shown on screen - they didn't really have to show us the name of each band's room, since it didn't play any role in the story. You're meant to associate these names to them somehow. (Then again, the context of vocal synth might mean steering clear of a name like "Lily" - although they don't have to.)
Since these both have potential names according to my theory, it really would have been cooler if I could have introduced "LILY" and "MOON" as our potential next duo.

Cindered Shadows Ch 4 & 5
Alright! Spoilers below for Cindered Shadows C4
BATTLE
For those of you wondering, yes, I'm still playing Warriors too, I just wanted to switch it up for the night.
Man, feels good playing some classic Fire Emblem.
So they're basically telling me, don't fight the thing. Which makes me want to fight the thing. But I only have 10 turns, so no messing around this time.
Not gonna lie, that was pretty fun. I feel like this was a pretty well-designed map. There was enough pressure to force me to get moving and enough enemy obstacles to make it challenging, but without making it impossible. Same with the turn count.
Dimitri MVP. Deserved. Him or Ashe or Yuri honestly. Though special mentions to Hapi and Constance for making short work of all the armored knights.
I just lost 30 smithing stones because my storehouse was full. I'm literally crying. Not really but ahhhhh. why.
STORY
More love for how goofy Byleth's answers can be here. I'm picking "I was pretty sure we were going to die." It's just hysterical picturing this "Ashen Demon," but in reality he's just constantly sure they're all about to die.
And no matter how many times I pick that no one believes me 😭
Aelfric's been kidnapped. That's the guy with the longish brown hair, right?
I like Yuri insisting they tell the church about it. Seems more sensible.
This letter lying around conveniently is a bit sus. Feels like a trap.
It would be super funny if Edelgard was the rat and she wanted the chalice for her conquest. I know that's not the case, but imagine.
CAMP
I'm still not used to Yuri's voice. It's so much deeper than he looks like it would be.
Ohhhhh, wait, wait, wait. Hapi says she was abducted once for someone's "twisted" experiments. Gotta be TWSITD, right? And she specifically says "her," so Cornelia likely over Kyrona. Because in Hopes she was nervous being in the Kingdom, worried she'd run into a "her." Must be Cornelia.
Mysterious Woman acting pretty sus.
Honestly, all this "Aelfric's sooooo perfect!" makes me a bit suspicious of him. The game is just pushing him as this totally pure dude a bit too hard, and there's got to be more to him then "saint."
Oh, hey, look, Claude and Dimitri hanging out again.
STORY
Alois is here now?? Finally someone found out what's going on? Because I'm sure by now Dedue and Hubert are getting ulcers.
Yuri we don't disrespect Alois in this house. You take that back.
Byleth can pick, "I don't know this man." 🤣😂
Overall, I feel like this game is doing a good job making Hilda and Linhardt feel relevant to the story, but everyone else feels tacked on.
So if we're visiting Rhea now, does that mean everyone came back up? I'm gonna call BS if Hubert and Dedue just let Edelgard and Dimitri go to this dangerous area without them.
Byleth is so uber special he unlocked the Chalice by himself! It's this kinda stuff that I don't like about Byleth.
Rhea be like, "Here, take some experienced knights to help unkidnap your beloved Aelfric and protect all the heirs to the existing kingdoms in Fodlan, who will for some reason participate in this too." Everyone, "Nah, let's do this ourselves! Who needs experienced knights and extra manpower to save someone we care about! Let's put all of Fodlan's future leaders at risk too while we're at it!" Rhea "Sounds good!" Like I know this is DLC, but there's only so much disbelief I'm willing to suspend.
And now Balthus is like, "Oh, you may be our great friend and trusted leader and we're in the middle of a crisis, but btw, how did you end up here?" Like, I know they want to explain Yuri's backstory . . . but, like, why didn't a Deer, Eagle, or Lion ask that? The writers could've tried a bit harder.
See, this is what I mean. Linhardt cuts in because his crest knowledge is important to the storyline, and the three lords also trail in because . . . they're the lords. Like, don't get me wrong, I love some more Dimitri content, but I feel there's a ton of missed opportunity here with Dimitri having a chalice around that could bring back the dead, new lore for Claude to learn, and new dirt that could get dug up on the church for Edelgard, but like, there's nothing.
So all 4 of the crests needed to unlock the chalice are in the wolves, hummm, this isn't suspicious - at all. Nope.
Constance being like, "oh, mine's a secret even from the Empire." . . . right in front of Edelgard. Not a secret anymore. See, this scene makes more sense WITHOUT Edelgard, who added nothing of substance and makes it more awkward being there.
Yuri is like, "no, this isn't suspicious at all." Actually, yes, yes it is. Dimitri's spot on saying they could've just stolen the chalice if that's all they wanted. There's more going on and Yuri's either unintelligent (or writing forced unintelligence) or deflecting because he doesn't want them to guess.
MAP
I have to run around and talk to everyone again 😭😭 I thought I'd get a level to play 😭😭 But it makes sense because we had back-to-back levels, and honestly, not mad about it because that's more tiny dialogue bits for characters I mostly like.
OMG, all the Ashen Wolves are standing around together and Hilda's just chillin there because, lamo.
Ohhhhh, Constance, asking if he's an ally or enemy??? She's the smart one, y'all, realizing how sus this all is.
WTF Linhardt 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 "It's like casting a line and thinking you've landed the Big One . . . but then you reel it in, and it's Seteth." 🤣😂🤣😂 Confirmed he gets the best lines. Has someone drawn fanart of Linhardt fishing Seteth out of the water?
Ashe asking good questions too, proud of my boy.
This rouge's like, "why hasn't the church done more to help?" Like, bitch, Rhea offered. Go ask the Ashen Wolves why they said no.
Both Claude and Dimitri are like, "there's something weird going on." Props to them. Don't blame Edelgard for being more hung up on Constance's reveals.
STORY
There's a connection between Byleth and Yuri? Did I totally miss that or did it come out of nowhere?
LAMO, I love Byleth's answers for this. Getting flustered about the "date," telling Yuri his smile doesn't reach his eyes (poor Claude isn't unique anymore), or just "not now." IDK which to pick, I think "not now" is funniest and lines up the most with what I've picked so far for Byleth.
Yuri's like, "meet me at midnight, alone." Either dude is thirsty or he should've added "unarmed and possibly drunk or drugged." I wouldn't trust Yuri father than I could throw him. And Yuri's not big, but I'm not even 5 foot so . . .
Rhea's letting it all play out in case Sothis wakes up?
Ashe's too precious, worried about Constance wanting to turn herself in to save Aelfric.
Edelgard, "you make Hubert look like a spring chicken." She just killed Balthus and Hubert in one sentence. I disagree, though, that whole "I've never even seen sunlight" look makes Hubert look older.
OMG METODY!!! Long time no see. I wonder what Edelgard thinks. Not gonna lie, he's not unattractive if you're into unhinged people.
Aelfric is so sus, "just flee! my flock!" Like, it's too much.
The sigh thing is so weird. Like, who wrote that?
The bird flew off with Balthus, but they're like, whateves, we got Aelfric 🤣😂 🤣😂
I'm going to lie, I think I just have to turn my brain off regarding the writing around some of this.
MAP
AELFRIC IS PLAYABLE??? That's a surprise.
GOD, I want to kill Yuri. Why the hell is he asking for more demonic beasts. Like, he literally spawned them in the middle of my units and nowhere near the enemy in some areas.
Man, I wish Edelgard was closer to Metodey and see if she had unique dialogue with him. But she's all the way over in the other corner.
Balthus MVP. Honestly, deserved. Dude was dropped in a corner by himself and never broke a sweat. I was worried at first, but he never even really got hit.
STORY
Wait, what just happened?
I knew it. I knew Yuri was sus. I'm sure he'll either redeem himself or is some kind of double-agent or something because he's playable, but yeah between diverting everyone from talking about everything and never telling his friends jack shit. . . like I said, wouldn't trust him for a second.
Which is funny, because they tried that with Claude, and I'd trust Claude a fair amount at least, but with Yuri they got that "smile doesn't reach his eyes" way more convincing.
And Aelfric was always suspicious as hell.
Byleth has this "I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed" face lamo.
Dimitri's worried about Byleth 😭😭, like y'all, Dimileth is a good ship and anyone who says otherwise can eat shit.
Edelgard is like, you must be wounded. Byleth's like, no. What was the point of that dialogue?
Oh, so Edelgard actually got a line. Dimitri had the worried line, Claude had the figuring out line, so Edelgard needed . . . something.
RHEA! She figured it out. #Girlboss
I still need a fanfic where Dimitri struggles with using the chalice to bring back all his dead . . . everything. Ohhh, make it post-TS too when he thinks Dedue is dead for max pain.
Dimitri's so pissed off that the wolves are in danger.
So what does Rhea mean it can "breathe a spirit into a body" but can't bring back the departed? Like a body swap sort of thing? I get how that works for her plans for Sothis to come back, but how would it work elsewhere? And no, not at all wanting to know because fanfic. /s
So who is Aelfric trying to bring back to life? Not Sothis.
Rhea's like, "it's a serene, peaceful area," and Byleth can be like "the kitchen" channeling his inner Raphael or Ingrid, I see. I'm soooo picking that one.
LAMO, Dimitri calling me out "I'd hardly call the dining hall peaceful. Are you sure you're not just hungry?" 🤣😂 🤣😂
Right so the knights have to attack the bandits so that way theres an actual excuse for why they're not around for the next battle other than the Ashen Wolves being like "leave it to us!"
Dimitri's like "I'm sure Yuri has his reasons." Boy knows he's a playable character in the main game and spinoffs so he must be a good guy.

I'm really sorry for the rant. If you don't want any more on this subject please ignore this.
I care about games. I care about media. I care about the consumerism, capitalism lowering the standards for media and leading to anti-intellectualism among some people ( which I think we can agree on seeing your opinion on booktok ? ) like the ones complaining about three houses story directly saying they prefer tropey story and horny element, worded like that. Ultimately this isn't just Engage but other game as well, it's not even just the video game industry...
I care about how the representation of diversity seems to be going backwards in this FE. You had strong feminist theme in Fe3h along with fascinating women characters allowed to be powerful, flawed, angry... Now you have camera focusing on boob and ass as well as some weird horny design ( at least men and women seems equally bad in term of trope ). You had Claude, Petra, Hapi, Shamir, Cyril and more speaking of xenophobia and racism... Now you have some weirdly orientalist element.
Even, outside of all that, if it was just a game. Aren't we allowed to be upset that the elements we love the most, the complex story and characters, aren't present? Aren't we allowed to feel the series is going backwards from our point of view?
If Three Houses wasn't that complex, then why aren't we allowed to have been hoping the series would go forward and not backwards in term of complexity?
There's nothing wrong with liking Engage, and people who say you can't enjoy it are wrong, but we're allowed to be upset. Three Houses fans are a non-negligible part of the fandom, our opinions matters just as much now!
I think the circle of hate you mentioned for new game is also present for games that are just behind the recently new released game, as far as I've seen for other FE.
At least I hope that like you say the next FE will be like Fe3h story and character wise as well as taking Engage better technical aspect.
You can read and enjoy both Danielle Steele and George Eliot, y'know. Booktok isn't anti-intellectual, it's easily-led young people who have always existed and always been about the same. It's an annoyance, not the end of literature.
The whole "dumbing down" of media/media is corrupting people is... an argument as old as media. OH NO PICTURE SHOWS WILL RUIN THEATER. ALAS THE YOUNG PEOPLE WOULD RATHER READ DICKENS THAN CLASSICAL LITERATURE. MY STARS, THE YOUTH OF ATHENS ARE LISTENING TO ***PHILOSOPHERS***!
🤷‍♀️
And diversity? In Fire Emblem? Going backwards???
I remember when practically last week people were whining about Ingrid, about Claude, about Dedue. About the M/M paired endings. Before that it was about the tribes in Fates and the single M/M and F/F S-supports. Before that, well, Awakening apparently ruined the series by being popular. 🤣
FE is not and has never been known for racial or sexual nuance.
I play games that entertain. I don't need to be taught ethics on my Switch. I have morals already. If a game wants to teach morals or ethics, that's cool. But if it doesn't, you can't say it had some obligation to do so. Make your own game. FE has never been that deep. And Three Houses wasn't as deep as people now suddenly want to insist. It wasn't complex. It just had four different versions of storyline, all of which left multiple loose ends and unanswered questions.
You're allowed to be upset. And I'm allowed to roll my eyes.
IT. IS. A. GAME. A strategy game. Not the second coming of Immanuel Kant or Simone de Beauvoir or Mary Wollstonecraft. Nor did it ever claim to be.
I'll be enjoying it very soon. And I'll wait for the whiners to find something else to complain about. I'm sure the next crusade is just around the corner. It always is. Always is. Trust me - I've actually gotten past age twenty and have the ability to enjoy things without them being 100% morally pure and perfect.

Emblem Edelgard. Yeah IS, keep pretending Dimitri and Claude’s routes weren’t the ones that got shit done. There’s a reason AM/VW merge fics are popular. Them teaming up made too much sense and had to be written out of each other’s stories to prevent a golden ending. They couldn’t do that again in 3Hopes so they made Claude OOC instead. I don’t even like Engage and this shit pisses me off. I could ignore the fans, but devs playing favorites in 4 games is too much. I resent her now.
The Emblem is called Edelgard (with Dimitri and Claude), like... lmao really??? Why couldn't they just call it the Houses Emblem or something? Even if it was Dimitri (with Edelgard and Claude) I wouldn't prefer that over something simple that's totally obvious with what the Emblem is for.
Well, them teaming up is canon in both of Dimitri's routes. Something I loved in Hopes is that Claude is actually there with you on the map fighting with your army. I appreciate getting to use Failnaught in AM, but it's just special to have him hanging around with you as an ally, too.
Just imo, AM is basically a golden ending for me anyway? I mean, TWS got wrecked without even being able to reveal who they were so l e l, Thales ended up dying in his fckn disguise lol. Hapi's solo ending just deals with the remnants of them. Edelgard is defeated which obviously she was the one who started the war and let TWS' people run amok in Faerghus. I just personally can't see Edelgard surviving after everything she did as a golden ending. That to me just would be like what the did with her in Hopes, letting her survive every route despite being the aggressor. Then of course we have Claude who got to go home and presumably achieved his goals, and Rhea stepped down but at least survived. The only people who died in AM were the villains, so I guess for me it's a pretty perfect ending.
Yeah, I get that. Personally I don't resent Lyn for example, but it's obvious the devs favor her over Eliwood and Hector despite Eliwood being the main character of FE7 and Lyn not really being all that important after her tutorial story (i.e. the purpose of her story is just to get the player used to the game and it can literally be skipped/ignored after you beat the game once, since you can just go right into Eliwood or Hector's stories). As a character she's okay, but I get so sick of the favoritism... They do it with Lucina still and often ignore Chrom despite Chrom actually being the main character and Lucina not being the main character.
My happy, peaceful suggestion to you is... if you haven't played PoR, play it! If you have played it... play it again! Play the "try not to think of that Shinon loving lady every time he shows up on screen" challenge (disclaimer: challenge does not exist, it was simply created on the spot at this moment)! Play the "Oscar decimates everyone" route (note: this is not a challenge, it is simply a way of life)! Play the "every time Ashnard is a better character than Edelgard" drinking game (note: if you're under the legal drinking age in your area, drink juice or something)!

Guys guys guys ! Remember Crests are dying out? Dimitri confirms its fading away in his support with sylvain! Ingrid is the ONLY one in house Galatea with a crest . Holst judith edmund are all leaders in the alliance without a crest. And Of emperor Ionius's children Edelgard was one of the only kids (if not the only one) with a MINOR crest of seiros . You know what this means? This means that fodlan , even without edelgards war, was ALREADY CHANGING LMFAO. They have no choice but to accept being crestless because soon enough they will all be crestless 😂! (the humans anyway)
Honestly all this just confirms how edelgards one true goal is the total conquest of the continent under adrestia, which she says is "superior" to the other 2 "mere offshoots" (Her words not mine).
You're exactly right about her wording -- she really does not think the Kingdom and Alliance legitimately wanted to be independent, despite any and all evidence to the contrary. But I also think that it's not fair to boil down her motives solely to conquest.
So this got touched on somewhat in the Crest Virus discussion quite a while back, but Crest inheritance is a gamble and has been for generations. The only guaranteed way to get a major Crest is to receive blood directly from a dragon; after that, the usual genetic lottery goes into play, meaning that a rare few people win the jackpot, some get lucky, and most come away flat broke.
While Crests were undoubtedly more prevalent in the past when the genome wasn't so scattered, after a thousand years it's getting to a dire point where families are getting desperate for Crests. We meet a grand total of 9 Major Crestbearers during the course of Three Houses (14 if you include the DLC characters):
Catherine (Major Charon)
Felix (Major Fraldarius)
Anna (Major Ernst, DLC exclusive)
Hapi (Major Timotheos, DLC exclusive)
Balthus (Major Chevalier, DLC exclusive)
Constance (Major Noa, DLC exclusive)
Yuri (Major Aubin, likely a first-generation Crestbearer; DLC exclusive)
Jeralt (Major Seiros, first-generation Crestbearer)
Rhea (Major Seiros due to being Seiros herself)
Seteth (Major Cichol due to being Cichol himself)
Flayn (Major Cethleann due to being Cethleann herself)
Byleth (Major Flames due to bearing the Creststone of Flames)
Lysithea (Major Gloucester, product of Twisted experimentation)
Edelgard (Major Flames, product of Twisted experimentation)
Of that list 2 are first generation Crestbearers who received their Crest directly from a Child of the Goddess (one of whom is DLC exclusive); 3 are themselves Children of the Goddess; 2 are the direct products of experimental procedures by the Twisted; and 1 has a Creststone implanted in them as the source of their Crest. This means that at most, playing without the DLC, there are only 2 Major Crestbearers in the entire game whose Crests don't arise from special circumstances; if the DLC is factored in, that number rises to 6.
I've mentioned in other rambles that I tend to think the Insurrection of the Seven arose because Ionius was attempting to consolidate power with the intention of changing the inheritance laws. He saw the writing on the wall, that the Crest-bearing bloodline was fading to the point where very soon there would be no heirs who inherited Cress; though it failed in the end and led to untold suffering for his children, he may well have been trying to address this very issue with his power play. And Edelgard, once she emerged from the Twisted experiments, set her eyes specifically on taking down the Church specifically because she believed (wrongly) that they were responsible for the Crest System, and that eliminating them would allow her to rebuild the system from the ground up without the existing bias toward Crestbearers.
Yes, it's true the world was already changing before she set her plans in motion -- but that in no way changes the fact that she was trying to do good, even if her means were flawed.

We all know the fandom says Rodrigue, Gilbert and Varney are the worst parents (even though i don't understand how the previous to can even compare to the latter) but honestly the more i think about it the more i notice Patricia is a bad mother too, maybe not to egg but to dimitri. She might be step mother but still his mother right?
(this ask is supposed to be on anon i think hellsite has problems so let me make sure)
Don't worry you are on anon!
The fandom forgetting to add Jerry to the list of "not so great dads" but parading Rodrigue at its top is something I will never understand.
As for Patricia, when Hapi out of everyone was supposed to be her morality pet, you know the devs didn't care a lot about her.
And to this day, I still don't understand the timeline.
Patricia was spirited away from her hubby Ionius before Supreme Leader? Why ? And then she immediately married Lambert, after befriending Cordelia - who was already Cleobulus ? And then she spent time with Dimitri ?
But she totes ignored Supreme Leader - and her own brother - were here and spent time with Dimitri too ?
Patricia missing her daughter was a nice nod to some other mother I won't mention who cannot five fucks about her children, and agreeing with what was basically regicide and a general slaughter to "reunite" with Supreme Leader is also something I can buy - not condone since nowadays you have to make the distinction clear - and it also is funny because it'd mean Supreme Leader got her extremist tendencies from her mom !
Granted she's still a step above FE7's Helen because I don't remember Helen wanting to murderize Guinivere to put her son on the throne, whereas Patricia's plan involved Lambert and Dimitri dying - not to put Supreme Leader on the throne - but to reunite with her daughter.
So on the scale of Sothis "I will step in to obtain vengeance for my meatsuit's father who died while working as a mercenary but won't stop said meatsuit and even lend them my power to assault and ultimately slaughter my daughter for the sin of existing" to Helen "I'll recover a jewel by hiring dubious people to make sure my son will sit on the throne", Patricia/Anselma sits between the two.
