i know i already posted something for it but i also had to make something for YouTube (where i post my tmnt edits as well), and i did an edit last year so this year was a must as well!
Happy 20th Anniversary to Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl- July 9, 2003
Back in select theaters for a limited time, the first in a series of blockbusters based on the Disneyland ride of the same name. Director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer really launched Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Kierra Knightley's careers with one of Disney's biggest franchises of all time. The red carpet premiere was an epic opening at Disneyland and reignited fans of the ride. It also was the first major film for Zoe Zaldanna, who played Ana Maria, a woman Jack owes a ship to. The first three film in the franchise (and arguably the best) grossed 2.68 billion dollars worldwide.
Fun fact: my first tmnt show I watched was tmnt 2003, and it's my all time favourite series over all!
I got introduced to tmnt franchise in a pretty funny way.
It was when I was around 7 yo, and i asked my mom about what cartoons did she used to watch when she was younger. She told me about different shows, but the one that caught my attention was "teenage mutant ninja turtles". I laughed at that and asked " why were you watching boy's cartoon?",and she told me: "why not? Even if it's a boy's cartoon, doesn't mean that girls can't enjoy it!". So the next moment you know, I searched tmnt on YouTube :D
Also, something that she didn't mentioned, that she was talking about 1987, so when I told her about how I felt bad about Baxter Stockman beend dismembered by Shredder, she was really concerned about what exactly I was watching lol
But after watching an episode with me, she let me be. Thank you mom❤️
I still have a lot of respect for tmnt 2003! I understand that animation is not as good as i remember, and that 6 and 7th seasons are DEFINITELY not as amazing as I remembered, but it's still my favourite show! I'll try to draw more of it (as soon as I'll be done with my college work), and shere more of my thoughts about it 🐢💙🧡💜❤️
20 years of influence, success, creativity, hard work, and talent are what has allowed TVXQ to continue to survive in an industry where most don't make it past 7 years. They set the standard of performance and professionalism and were the catalysts behind most of what we now consider normal kpop things (multiple version album releases, photocards, etc).
So many newer fans don't seem to care about kpop groups who debuted before 2013 - but I dont think they understand that without that foundation built by legendary acts like TVXQ, BoA, BigBang, Super Junior, etc....kpop would not exist. And TVXQ was the start of that shift, they started the 2nd gen and brought kpop even more into the international limelight. They set a standard in performance and vocals that has still not been topped or bettered in kpop. They are the idol of idols.
HERE IS TO ANOTHER 20 YEARS TO THE LEGENDS, THE GODS OF KPOP, TVXQ!
