[230222] Rolling Stone UK Music News | ATEEZ : ‘We hope to be able to send a good vibe out into the world’
As ATEEZ prepare to play The O2 Arena tonight, the K-Pop giants discuss their biggest UK concert to date, how touring and their fans inspire their music and their 'crazy' next steps
As ATEEZ prepare to headline their biggest UK concert so far with a sold-out show at London’s The O2, the eight-member K-pop boyband have discussed their current tour, ‘The Fellowship: Break The Wall’ and their grand ambitions for the future.
The group, who are signed to KQ Entertainment, will perform at the iconic London venue tonight (February 22) as part of the European leg of their 2023 tour.
The dates follow a big year for ATEEZ in 2022, which saw them score their highest entry on the Billboard 200 chart with ‘The World EP 1: Movement’, which peaked at Number Three and became their first million-selling album. In December, they wrapped up the year with the single ‘Spin Off: From The Witness’, led by the skittering, hypnotic lead track ‘Halazia’.
Speaking to Rolling Stone UK, ATEEZ have discussed holding their biggest UK concert to date, how touring helps shape their music, and why they promise their next steps will be “crazy”.
You’re performing at the O2 tonight (February 22) for your biggest concert in the UK so far. What does it mean to you to be so far from home and know there are so many people connecting with your music?
Wooyoung: “We’re so happy to be performing at a big venue like this. It’s really amazing that people from countries that are far away from us are coming to see us and because of this, we also have a responsibility to these people.”
Hongjoong: “I’m so excited to perform in such a huge venue in London. Like Wooyoung said, I feel a responsibility, too – but I can feel our fans’ support so we can be more energetic on stage here. It’s so meaningful to us.”
What have been your most memorable experience of your visit to London so far?
Seonghwa: “Yesterday we went to Tottenham’s stadium, so we all saw their football game. Sonny scored the first goal, so that was a really good memory for us.”
How does touring and travelling impact and inspire your music? Has there been anything you’ve seen or experienced on tour lately that’s made you think about new song ideas or ideas for what ATEEZ could do next?
San: “Every time we tour, we always see the fans sing along and cheer with us. With each album, we always try to give more and do more for each one to be better. Because of this, there’s a lot more you can look forward to in terms of our music.”
Hongjoong: “When we’re on tour, we can recognise what our fans want to hear and what songs are really good, what they cheer the most to. We can recognise what songs and sounds make the show hot so then we can include those ideas in the next album and next songs.
What can we expect from new music that you have coming up this year?
Mingi: “I think the next song will be ATEEZ’s most famous song ever. We’ve prepared a lot of things for this year.”
Your songs often contain a lot of very powerful and encouraging messages that ATINY around the world have been inspired by and taken a lot of strength from. How do those messages in your songs also impact ATEEZ?
San: “Firstly, for ATINY, no matter how hard it is, we just want to tell you that we’re always going to be by your side, so it’s going to be OK. And when you take a look at the lyrics and the meaning of them, there’s a lot that we’re able to match with in terms of emotions. When we sing these songs, we also get those same feelings and feel good while we’re doing so. When we’re recording, we hope to be able to send that same good vibe out into the world for the fans.”
Late last year, you celebrated your fourth anniversary as a group – from your perspective, how have you grown in those four years, both as a group and as individuals?
Seonghwa: Every concert, there’s something I always say at the end – when I’m with ATINY, I want to be a better person. Because of this, I think that, personally, I’m actually growing up and having growth. As a member of ATEEZ, I think I’ve progressed to become an even better version of myself.”
‘The World EP 1: Movement’ saw you reach even greater heights than before, with your highest entry on Billboard and your first million-selling album. What are your goals for 2023 and the next chapter in ATEEZ’s story?
Wooyoung: “Having a big goal is something I learnt from my mum, and being Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 is the biggest goal that we have.”
Hongjoong: “Recently, I watched Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Wooyoung said we should dream big so I want to go to the Super Bowl Halftime Show with ATEEZ. Not for 2023, but someday. Because of that, our next step will be crazy. I can’t say what, but it will be crazy so please look forward to it.”

fans and antis alike have doomposted about offgun so much, since forever, that it's hard to take seriously. gmmtv has always been a poorly run company, and if gun was gonna ditch the ship or the company he would've done it ages ago. both o and g have a longtime attachment to gmmtv, for better or worse. it's also probably the easiest place for them to stay consistently employed. of course, one day they'll start winding down the ship, but we still have the trainee AND now a babii concert in april!!! so i rly don't see the point in doomposting about their partnership at least for this year, lmao.
yeah I mean I hope people didn't see my reply to this ask as me doomposting tho lol, bc even tho I do have a platform with followers I'm also literally just an offgun fan & also get doubts & fears like everyone else 😅 the babii concert has me GAGGED, that's what I've been waiting all along I'm so fucking happy!!! however I never said I believed offgun were gonna break up this year, but I was more so thinking about the years forward as I said I want them to at least reach their 10th anniversary bc it'd be BEYOND iconic in an industry where bl ships drop like flies every day. so yeah, not doomposting, just voicing my worries & responding to an ask that was even more worried than I was. I understand not wanting to read negative shit about a ship you love, but this is literally the only ask on this topic I've ever received & answered. don't worry my regular content will never become about offgun separating... until they separate lmao. but yeah the concert is giving me some hope, it compensates the lack of cooking crush final ep fanmeet a liiiiittle bit lol

Throwback: Mary J. Blige-You Bring Me Joy
Tumblr media
Mary J. Blige's "You Bring Me Joy" is from her iconic 1994 sophomore album My Life. Sean Combs, Chucky Thompson, and Joel Hailey produced the song, which gets its musical base from a sample of Barry White's "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me." Blige's ability to sing over White's groove epitomized what her hip-hop soul crown stood for. Using a digitized piece of R&B history with Blige's voice combined both genres and set up a blueprint that is still followed in 2024. Marcus Raboy, who had directed Blige's videos for "Real Love" and "Reminisce," returned for the "You Bring Me Joy" clip. Blige was filmed in a blue room with a posse of dancers that she joined in a routine on a shimmering floor. The song was the third single from My Life and another solid addition to the album that quickly became a survival totem for many of her fans.
In 1996, the My Life Remix EP was released with remixes of "Mary Jane," "You Bring Me Joy," "Be Happy," "Be With You," and "I Love You" with appearances from LL Cool J, MC Lyte, Lin Que, Smif-N-Wessun, Keith Murray and Lauryn Hill. The album was remastered and re-released in 2020 to mark its 25th anniversary. The new edition included remixes of "Mary Jane," "I'm Goin' Down," "Be Happy," "I Love You," and a cover of Aretha Franklin's "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman." Amazon Prime Video released Mary J. Blige's My Life documentary about the album in 2021. Blige recorded "When I Can't Do Better" for The Color Purple album of music inspired by the 2023 film.

From Band T-Shirts to Designer Collabs: A Look at Deftones Merchandise Through the Years
Grab your favorite Deftones band tee, because we're about to take a journey through their merchandise over the years! From humble beginnings selling t-shirts at local gigs to collaborating with high-end designers, Deftones have come a long way in the world of merch. Join us as we explore their evolution and some of the most iconic pieces from their collection. Whether you're a die-hard fan or simply appreciate cool design, this is one trip down memory lane you won't want to miss.
Introduction to Deftones Merchandise
Tumblr media
Deftones are a band that has been around since the early 1990s, and they have always had a loyal following. Their music is unique and their live shows are intense. They are also known for their fashion sense, which has led to some interesting merchandise over the years.
The band has always had t-shirts available for sale, but in recent years they have collaborated with designers on some more high-end items. In 2016, they teamed up with Supreme for a line of skateboard decks and apparel. The following year, they worked with Bape on a limited edition t-shirt. And most recently, they have collaborated with streetwear brand OFF-WHITE on a range of merch that includes t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets.
No matter what your budget is, there is probably some Deftones merchandise out there that you can afford. And even if you're not a fan of the band, you have to admit that their merch is pretty cool.
Early Band T-Shirts and Artwork
In the early days of Deftones, the band's merchandise was pretty simple: just a few t-shirts with the band's logo and some artwork. Over the years, as the band's popularity has grown, so has the variety and quality of their merchandise. These days, you can find everything from designer collaborations to limited edition vinyls. Here's a look at some of our favorite Deftones merchandise through the years:
T-Shirts: In the early days, Deftones' t-shirts were pretty basic, just featuring the band's logo or some simple artwork. These days, you can find a wide variety of shirts, including designs by well-known artists like Shepard Fairey and Travis Scott.
Designer Collaborations: In recent years, Deftones have collaborated with some top fashion brands on limited edition merch collections. Highlights include a capsule collection with Supreme in 2017 and a collaboration with BAPE in 2019.
Vinyls: If you're a fan of physical music formats, then you'll be happy to know that Deftones have released a number of limited edition vinyl pressings over the years. Some of our favorites include the 10th anniversary reissue of their classic album "White Pony" and the special edition "Black Stallion" EP.
Evolution of Designer Collabs (feat. Supreme, Undefeated, etc.)
The Deftones are no strangers to working with some of the biggest names in fashion. Over the years, they've collaborated with Supreme, Undefeated, and other high-end brands on a variety of merchandise. From band t-shirts to limited edition sneakers, these collabs have helped the Deftones stay at the forefront of fashion.
The Deftones first partnered with Supreme in 2000, when they released a limited edition t-shirt featuring the band's logo. This was followed by a collaboration with Undefeated in 2002, which resulted in a line of co-branded apparel and accessories. In 2007, the Deftones once again teamed up with Supreme for a series of T-shirts and hoodies. And most recently, they launched a capsule collection with Adidas Originals.
These collaborations have not only kept the Deftones' style fresh and relevant, but also helped them reach new audiences. By partnering with established brands, the Deftones have been able to tap into new markets and gain exposure to new fans. In turn, this has helped propel their career forward and solidify their place as one of the most stylish bands in rock music today.
Deftones x Nike Collaboration
In 2016, the Deftones teamed up with Nike for a special edition collaboration. The collection included a re-imagined version of the Nike Cortez designed by the band, as well as a T-shirt and cap featuring the Deftones logo. The release was limited to only 500 pairs of shoes, making it a highly sought-after item for fans of the band.
This wasn't the first time the Deftones had their own line of merchandise. In fact, they've been releasing merch since their early days as a punk band in the 1990s. Some of their most iconic designs include their "Diamond Eyes" T-shirt from 2010 and their "White Pony" hoodie from 2000.
The Deftones have always been known for their unique style, and their merchandise is no exception. Whether you're looking for an old-school T-shirt or a new pair of kicks, there's sure to be something in the Deftones' merch line that catches your eye.
Deftones’ Latest Merchandise Lines
Deftones are no strangers to offering up unique merchandise designs to their fans over the years. In addition to the usual band t-shirts and hoodies, they've also released everything from coffee mugs to skateboard decks. And in recent years, they've even collaborated with some top fashion designers on limited edition lines of clothing and accessories. Here's a look at some of the most noteworthy Deftones merchandise releases over the years:
In 2016, Deftones teamed up with fashion designer John Varvatos on a limited edition line of clothing and accessories. The collection included t-shirts, jackets, hats, and more, all emblazoned with Deftones logos and artwork.
In 2017, Deftones released a line of coffee mugs featuring artwork from their album covers. The mugs were available in four different designs, each one featuring a different album cover art.
In 2018, Deftones collaborated with skateboard brand Girl Skateboards on a line of decks and apparel. The collection featured several different deck designs, as well as t-shirts and hoodies emblazoned with Deftones logos and artwork.
And most recently, in 2019, Deftones teamed up with streetwear brand Undefeated on a limited edition line of clothing and accessories. The collection included t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and more, all in Undefeated's signature black and white color scheme.
A Look at Deftones’ Live Shows
Deftones’ live shows are as intense and visceral as their music. The band has a reputation for putting on explosive, high-energy performances that leave fans feeling exhilarated. Frontman Chino Moreno is a dynamic performer, and his interactions with the crowd add to the electric atmosphere of the show.
The band’s stage setup is usually minimal, with just a few lights and some smoke to create an atmospheric backdrop for the music. This allows the focus to be on the band and their performance, which is always tight and well-rehearsed. Deftones never disappoint when it comes to delivering a powerful live show.
Conclusion
It's clear that the band merchandise of Deftones has grown in popularity and relevance over the years, from classic band t-shirts to designer collaborations. Whether you're a diehard fan who wants to show their love for one of the most influential bands of all time or just looking for something unique and stylish, Deftones merch has something for everyone. From vintage designs to modern collabs, there is no shortage of great products available out there so be sure to check it out!

Yeah it's a lot going on rn but I'm managing. I also got a raise for working so much so I know what I do is being appreciated and that feels nice (my previous bosses were taking everything for granted so it's double nice lol)
And please send me your cravity content playlists! I enjoy pretty much all variety concepts as long as everyone in the group is having fun and feeling comfortable. I just want to get a feeling for them as people and not just as performers if you know what I mean.
And oh god oh boy I could literally talk for hours about the Baes... okay so their title tracks went from cute (crush on u, loved you) to intense and edgy (jaws) to hiphop (Dash) and I really just love all their title songs so far. Dash has a special place in my heart cause all 3 songs on that EP were written and produced by their maknae Dohyon and they're all amazing!
For bsides I recommend FLY, #Trace (its a duo song from Dohyon and their eldest member J-Min), Green Light, Annoyed, and 걸음마 (get him UGH)
And for all 3 calls I talked to all 9 of them! I had about 1 minute with each member. It was amazing! They're really all so sweet! 😭 Dohyon is so silly, Muzin was hella flirty, Doha has such a gentle and kind personality, Yoojun is aegyo master 3000, Youngseo was so surprised that I was German and the first thing he said after I told him was that he wants to eat sausages here 😭, i told Hangyul that I liked his outfit and that stupid boy just started flexing his biceps at me I can't with him, Bit said he doesn't like their cute concepts at all and he's glad they're doing other stuff now lol, jmin can't really speak or understand English so after the first call I wrote down some stuff I want to tell him in Korean and he clapped so cutely for me, and Junseo omg... I was literally speechless the first time I saw him. He also did a little dancey dance for me one time 😭
Dohyon, Bit, and Yoojun remembered me. Bit was like "didn't I see you yesterday? 🤔" and Dohyon was so excited in the second call he was like "yooo you're back! Now we can talk more!" And Yoojun told me in Korean that he's so happy to see me so many times. My friend had to help me translate because I couldn't understand all of what he said but he was so sweet istg boy stole my heart
Still crying when I think back to it...
Also I'm getting my signed albums and polaroids tomorrow! I hope fedex comes early so I get it before I have to leave for work 🤞🏻
I'm so happy to hear that! You deserve that appreciation<33 I'm glad you have a good boss on this job u deserve !
The playlist is here <3 the boys all like filming vity park because the atmosphere is generally very chill and fun! They stressed more in the beginning because they were babies getting used to entertainment shows but by now they've gotten rly comfortable and it's super pleasant to watch: you can definitely see their own personalities and humour shine thru the eps.
the playlist starts with my fav c-reals (short, usually self-filmed vids of them being silly), then c-records and c-logs (slightly longer vlogs + behind vids etc), then some of my fav vity parks! Then before cravity (footage from their run up to debut- some release at debut (the first vity vids I ever watched!! ;-;) and others on their 1 year anniversary). c-plus+ which are their covers !! (I just picked a few there's loads more<3). Then some iconic non vity-channel vids and edit vids !! There's a lot in it but it's to be perused at ur own leisure<3 hopefully it helps u find content !!! Keep me updated if u wish to<333
(Ps- any vids I have down from 'cravity subs' not the cravity main channel is because they aren't subbed on the main channel<3)
Omg fr dohyon be producing ??? :') what a king we love a genius maknae. He and hangyul I know from produce so it's always nice to see them around!! Ooh thank you for those recs I will give bae173 a proper listen!! (In a little while- I am so caught up with vity I'm behind like 3/4 other comebacks hdjd). Also idk why I assumed so but I thought hangyul would be the oldest fjdj it's cool that he's not tho ! We do love<3
Ahhhh omg u are living the dream. YOUNGSEO I'm obsessed with you. Is that main vocal boyo?? 👀 with the cute nose?? 👀. Hangyul I Cannot JNSNS he has never changed. Lol Bit is so cute I'd never guess that but go off king tell ur truth. !! Ahhh ur boy junseo!!

National Recording Registry has inducted music from several artists including Alicia Keys, Ricky Martin, and Journey in its 2022 class. Alicia Keys' debut album Songs in A Minor, Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" are some of the unforgettable sounds of the nation's history and culture joining the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress. The 2022 class also includes important inductions of hip-hop and Latin music, including recordings by Linda Ronstadt, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan and Buena Vista Social Club. Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden on Wednesday named 25 recordings as audio treasures worthy of preservation for all time based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation's recorded sound heritage.
The Black Crowes have announced that they will release a new collection of covers, titled 1972.
The EP will be available digitally on May 4 as an Amazon Music exclusive. Vinyl and CD editions will be out on May 6 via the Black Crowes' Silver Arrow label. The project will mark a celebration of the 50th anniversary of some of the best rock-and-roll songs, including The Temptations' "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone," which was released along with the announcement of the EP. The Black Crowes recorded the six-track 1972 EP at the iconic Sunset Sound studio in Los Angeles in January. "The year 1972 was a watershed moment, some of the greatest rock and roll songs ever made came out of that year. To get our band back together in the studio, it had to be a celebration of rock and roll," said The Black Crowes' Chris Robinson. "This record is about love and devotion to something that makes us feel good. We hope that it makes fans around the world feel the same."
Kentucky's Bourbon & Beyond has announced a star-studded lineup for this year's festival, scheduled to be held on the Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center from September 15-18.The Danny Wimmer Presents event will feature headliners including Pearl Jam, Chris Stapleton, Kings of Leon, Jack White, Brandi Carlile, Alanis Morissette, Greta Van Fleet and many more. Pearl Jam are returning to the festival after 28 years, while White and Kings of Leon last played at the festival in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
"Bourbon and Beyond is definitely one we are looking forward to," KOL's Caleb Followill said in a statement. "It has amazing food and obviously the best stuff to drink, I love both of those things. And sharing the stage over the four days with friends like Pearl Jam and Chris Stapleton makes us even more excited about it. We can't wait!"

seraphcastiel’s 2021 monthly roundup: MAY                 ⋙  JAN | FEB | MAR | APRIL
hi guys! i wanted to do something new this 2021 and do a sort of “round up” of all the edits i make, as well as some of my personal favorite bits of content (edits, fic, art, etc) that others have made throughout the month. this is largely to keep track of my own content so i can see how my PS skills are improving as i continue to relearn how to make edits, and also i thought it’d be cool to take note of how many edits i do/what kinds of edits i do each month so i can see how i’ve grown as a content creator at the end of the year. (plus, i get to give a quick shout out to some of my favorite content creators as well hehe).
so without further ado, onto the roundup! big thanks to everyone who liked/reblogged my stuff this past month, i really appreciated it! xx
happy birthday sam winchester: tbh i was surprised by how this set turned out bc the final version ended up looking wayyy different from what i had originally envisioned. i knew i wanted to use shots from the earlier seasons bc kripke era sammy holds a special place in my heart, but since i dont usually gif much pre-s4 stuff the graininess and darkness of the scenes threw me off a bit. i felt like the quote i had picked fit that vibe, though, so instead of the orangey-blue coloring i had thought about doing, i switched to more muted browns and grays. especially proud of that middle panel, it came out so pretty.
claire and castiel, “sweet child o’ mine”: birthday set for @clairenatural! i’ve wanted to do an edit using this song for sooo long, and who better to finally make it for than for certified claire girl mae? pulled the pinkish-rose gold coloring inspo from mae’s own mobile theme, then added the splash of blue to emphasize the color of claire and cas’s eyes. i loved making this edit so much, the song fits their relationship to a T and i’m so happy with how it all turned out.
castiel x caitlin siehl: another birthday edit, this time for my birthday twin, @celestialcastiel! may 4 was cas appreciation day (bc i said so), so i saw this quote and immediately thought of my boy, especially that library scene. i tried to pick scenes were cas is shown with flashes of light around him, even though those shots are a bitch to color bc of spn’s inconsistent lighting lmaoo. and of course i was gonna use every casgirl’s favorite scene at least once for cas appreciation day lol.
supernatural | 15.18 “despair”: can’t believe it’s been six months since the confession jfc time is an illusion. not really much to say about this gifset since i hadn’t been planning on making anything until i found myself with some free time at work. i’m obsessed with that shot of cas looking back at dean; i’ve actually used that same shot in a different edit bc i think it’s so heartbreaking. and the middle gif was a spur of the moment decision bc i accidentally imported the wrong frames lol. i think it came out pretty cool though, all things considered.
supernatural | 06.20 “the man who would be king”:  again, wasn’t really planning on making another anniversary post bc i don’t really keep up with ep anniversaries and i didn’t have time that day lol but tmwwbk means so much to me on a personal level so i figured i might as well turn this into a mini series. made this edit in like two hours when i got home, so the coloring is a lil,,,, inspired lol. it was basically me putting layer after layer of coloring until i got to something that looked semi decent. i will say that i did put a lot of thought into the shots that i chose; the cinematography in tmmwbk is so good, so i made use of the tracking shots. i also wanted to juxtapose cas standing apart from the angels with him standing apart from dean, and to juxtapose that with thee iconic quote. tmwwbk fucks so hard yall. i’m really proud of this one.
castiel, “wap”: some purplenatural for @bijoharvelle’s birthday! making this felt like a fever dream, i was running on so little sleep and played the song on repeat for about 3 hours while editing this to the point where i just started laughing and couldn’t stop skdjlsdkhk. literally every single choice i made for this edit, from the coloring to the font styles to the scene choices was me fucking around and finding out, i just wanted it to be fun and silly and also kinda horny bc it’s chayya lmaoo. i think my favorite panel is the femmestiel one. love that bitch.
castiel x c.t. salazar: so many may birthdays oh my goddddd lol. this one was for @gentledomcas! the shots i chose were pretty self-explanatory,,, i mean,,,, fingers. (in mouth.) but in all seriousness, this quote knocked me tf out when i first read it, it fits cas so perfectly it makes me want to cry. this was also fun to color bc the original shots were so so so orange and my only goal was to make it Not That. so the final outcome was a pleasant surprise haha.
deancas x “merlin”: one last birthday post for @itsinjustbeing! i remember merlinatural being a huuuuuuge thing back when i was still active in the spn fandom a long time ago, but since i hadn’t rewatched merlin in a hot minute i completely forgot about this quote until i looked through some merlin blogs lol. still hits just as hard as when i first watched the show. this was also another instance of me having to de-orange the shots (holy fire scenes are always a pain in the ass to gif), but instead of removing it completely i just decided to ramp up the blue and black tones. it ended up looking really cool with the amount of shadows on both of their faces, almost like a shimmery, iridescent effect.  kelly kline, “so big so small”: kelly kline my beloved :(((( i love kelly and jack’s (and cas’s!) lil family, and i wanted to honor her this mother day. ik ik, deh is a lil ehhhh but this song never fails to make me cry and i felt it fit kelly’s character really well. this was a hard set to make bc kelly only appears in a handful of episodes, but i made it work lol.
supernatural | 10.22 “the prisoner”: if your “the prisoner” gifset doesn’t include a shot of cas grabbing dean’s wrist, then is it really a “the prisoner” gifset? idk how to feel about this one tbh, i also made this one during a break at work and rushed it super fast (well, fast for me i guess), so the dark purple gray is less of an artistic choice and more of a “i guess that’s good enough” choice lol.
happy birthday jack kline: it’s his birthday! he’s four! i wanted to do fun colors to balance the heaviness of the quote, and i think i ended up taking 2 hours just to come up with the color scheme of that first panel bc i was so indecisive lol. i actually had to remake this twice bc photoshop kept crashing and corrupting my files, so the circle in the 2nd panel were a last-ditch attempt at salvaging the messed up gifs that i had. i think it turned out alright tho, so no harm no foul hehe.
meg masters, “barracuda”: she is the reason! the blueprint, even! i love meg so so so much, thee original cas girl my beloved, so when i only had time to make one edit for spnwomenweek i knew i had to make something for her. i am also an unapologetic megstiel enjoyer, so yall can miss me with that anon hate :) this actually didn’t take me too long to make, even with the intense coloring and blending. i guess it helped that i knew exactly how i wanted it to look lol. the shot of meg smiling in that first panel lives in my head rent free, rachel miner i am free this saturday if you would like to meet with me this saturday when i am free. supernatural + tarot card series (kaia, alex, patience, rowena, billie): we’re almost to the end! solid roster of women for the tarot series this month, love that for me. ngl, it was a bit a struggle trying to figure out the color schemes for this month’s cards since so many of the characters featured were POC and i wanted to make sure that no one got white washed or anything. i think (hopefully) they all came out alright, and i’m especially proud of how the kaia one turned out! (and as a sidenote, thank you SO much to everyone who’s left nice tags or comments or asks about my tarot edit series, it really makes my day when i read them bc this is definitely a passion project of mine <3)
and now some of my favorite edits, fics, and art from this past month: this hc and ficlet by @acklesy and @bijoharvelle this kaia and jack fic by @transdean freedom is a length of rope by @you-cant-spell-subtext-without no more false heaven by @seffersonjtarship this fic by @deanspurpleflannel this fic by @itsinjustbeing this fic by @subbydean this bess amv by @bibessfitzgerald fingers in my mouth friday amv and bi wife energy amv by @theangelisgay baby hotline amv by @weedsinavacantlot baby shark amv by @hotgirlcastiel saturday night’s alright (for fighting) amv by @chocolatecakecas

How EXO saved 2020 - the EXOL Edition
(Because EXO is home to EXOLS)
Tumblr media
Year 2020 had been an apocalyptic one that has handed over the baton to year 2021 as well. People are living with the trauma of suffering from the pandemic and of witnessing others suffer. Many of them try to hold on to music made by their favorite artists.
EXO is home to us EXOLs, helping us keep strong. EXOLs around the world had the privilege to engage themselves in the various solo and unit activities of EXO in the year 2020. There were no such group activities since 2019 Obsession era because of the mandatory military service the members have to perform. But even while being enlisted Xiumin and DO served us with their amazing acting skills. We were happy to see them appearing the same military musical "Return: The Promise of the Day".
Suho had performed in the musical stage "The Man Who Laughs" until March. He had also released his solo EP "Self-Portrait" as a gift to us before his enlistment. The EP shows a new side of Suho through six rock oriented songs where he also participated in the songwriting process. In his "Heart 4 U" episodes he shared the details and some behind the scenes of album making. (Heart 4 U is EXO's personal relay reality programme). We also watched Chanyeol and Sehun appear in some episodes of his Heart 4 U episodes. During the album promotion he also engaged us to draw his portraits which he would personally check on social media and gift some copies of his album to those fans whose artworks were chosen as his personal favorites. He also re-recorded the OST "Sedansogu" for the web drama "How Are U Bread" where he is the main lead.
Baekhyun blessed us with his vocals throughout 2020. He released his second solo EP "Delight" which sold over 1 million copies, making him the first solo singer in South Korea to earn the title "million seller" in 19 years after the k-pop icon Seo Taeji in 2000. EXOLs participated in the viral "Candy Challenge" where one had to replicate the dance steps of Baekhyun (and his choreographer Kasper). Before that he also collaborated with BOL4 in the song "Leo" from BOL4's comeback album. Baekhyun rendered four k-drama OSTs namely "My Love" (Dr Romantic 2), "On The Road" (Hyena), "Every Second" (Record Of Youth) and "Happy" (Do You Like Brahms?). He released a winter single "Amusement Park" and teased us about his upcoming Japanese release and online concert which made us eager to look forward to 2021. Apart from his official activities we also got several KyoongTube contents on his YouTube channel.
Lay provided us with a lot of contents. He released the single "Love You More" with artists Steve Aoki, Will.I.am, and featuring Jessica Carrie Lee. He won the competition of IQIYI's "I'm a Singer-Songwriter 2". (He later released all the songs he had written and performed in his album "Producer" in 2021). He also appeared as a mentor in the Chinese dance survival show "Street Dance of China 3". He has also been filming for his drama, "Challenges at Midlife". He released his fourth solo album "LIT" in two parts, first part featuring songs having traditional Chinese musical influences and the second part featuring songs with a modern outlook. EXOLs participated in the "Boom Challenge" where one had to replicate the dance steps of Lay dancing to his single "Boom" from his album.
Chen released his own rendition of Park Hyo Shin’s famous ballad, “Breath" on his YouTube channel. He shared with us the good news of his marriage with his partner and that they were expecting a baby. Chen released "You", a collaboration with Dynamic Duo. He also released "Your Moonlight", an OST from the k-drama "Do You Like Brahms?" He gifted us a soulful single "Hello" right before his enlistment.
Chanyeol and Sehun (EXO-SC sub-unit) released their self-written and self-produced full length album "1 Billion Views" featuring hip-hop and R&B songs. EXOLs went crazy with the "1Billion Views Challenge" where they were supposed to hold a mobile phone and perform the dance steps but they ended up performing the steps while holding television, chair, gas cylinder, pets, mattress and what not. (We all know 'Chanyeol started it' because he did the challenge holding a tab instead of a mobile phone.)
Sehun has been confirmed a role in the upcoming “The Pirates” sequel. He was also shooting for "Busted 3" TV show.
Chanyeol collaborated with several artists in various songs namely "Yours" (with Raiden, Lee Hi, Changmo), "Regards" (with the legendary Lee Sun Hee), "Ocean View" (with Rothy) and "Faded" (Devine Channel featuring Loopy). He also rendered OSTs "Go Away Go Away" (with Punch) from the k-drama "Dr Romantic 2" and "Minimal Warm" from the webtoon "She's My Type". His "Heart 4 U" episodes were full of adventures. Chanyeol was back on the new season of the adventure show "Law of The Jungle". He was also confirmed a lead role in the jukebox road movie "The Box" where he will also be performing and singing many soundtracks in the movie. Fast forward to 2021, the movie ranked number 1 in the Korea Daily Box Office Chart in less than 24 hours of its release. He released several vlogs and songs on his YouTube channel. Sehun too was present in some of the videos.
Kai released his debut EP "Kai (开)" featuring R&B songs. His "Mmmh Challenge" saw the rerun of "1 Billion Views Challenge". "Mmmh Challenge" required the participants to balance a small bottle of water on their heads and dance to the song "Mmmh". But as usual the EXOLs (Extra-Ls) balanced anything but bottles on their heads and joined the challenge. Yes they balanced big water jars, pets, a stack of matkas, chairs and so on.
We were beyond happy when Xiumin was discharged from his mandatory military service. He was the first in EXO to enlist and was back with us already.
These are not all. The Instagram lives and posts, vlives, online fan-signs and fan-meets, OP updates from military, and interactions among the members acted as cherry on top. The members continue to provide us with a lot of contents in 2021 as well. DO is also discharged from military. Now they have announced one of the biggest gifts to us - their 9th Anniversary Special Album "Don't Fight The Feeling" and we couldn't be more excited.

Lee Elias Chamber of Chills #19 Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1953). This is one of those small handful of iconic pieces of original comic art that not only define an era in comics history, but have also taken on huge impact in the culture at large. A glass of sparkling champagne, a lit cigarette, and a beautiful lady usually make for a "Happy Anniversary," which is the title of the cover-featured story inside this classic pre-Code horror issue illustrated by Bob Powell. As with many of the greatest pre-Code horror issues, the cover assignment was given to Lee Elias by Harvey art director Warren Kremer, who provided a preliminary layout for Elias to produce the finished pencils and inks. The final result is one of the all-time greatest covers-not only for all Golden Age horror, but for the entire history of comics -- that portends the coming of death and which burned an indelibly lasting impression on the minds of kids growing up in the early 1950s. As one of the most potent images of the era, it was also used decades later by Glenn Danzig as the cover for the 1984 EP Die, Die My Darling by the legendary band The Misfits. And as such, it can be found on scores of t-shirts and posters to this day. This original art has never before been offered on the market, having been hidden away in the same collection for decades, so both comic fans and fans of Danzig and The Misfits should take note! Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board archivally mounted on acid-free board, with an image area of 10" x 15". A scratch art technique was used on the cigarette smoke, the woman's rotting face, and the light flare on the glass. As such, these do not detract from the condition of the piece. There are glossy white stickers on the archival board outside of the image area, and minor light toning spots on the light flare and smoke. Some text is created in white paint, and there are black ink touch-up spots under the first "l" in "Chill". The logo and header dressing are modern day replacements affixed to the board. In overall Excellent condition.
