He doesn’t really understand the feelings he’s having until someone points them out

It’s during a practice match with Date Tech that it first happens

You are busy running around, doing your job when Koganegawa intercepts you

“Hey YN! Could you maybe help me for a second?” He asks, showing you his finger tape that is falling off

“Sure!” You say cheerfully, helping him fix it

Meanwhile, you are joking and laughing with the giant setter, talking about nothing in particular

However 👀 a certain someone is literally GLARING at you

Kageyama doesn’t even try to hide it, his staring holes right thought Koganegawa’s head

Everyone notices it, looking between you and Kageyama until it’s finally all falling into place

The majority of the team is simply flabbergasted that Kageyama has feelings for anything outside of a volleyball

“Oh my god, are you guys seeing this?” Suga says as the team nods in agreement

They aren’t sure what to do because this is completely uncharted territory

Leave it to Hinata to blaze the trail 😌

“Hey crappyama, why are you glaring at Kogane like you want to murder him?” Hinata :D

Kageyama’s neck snaps to Hinata, exorcist style

“This is my normal face dumbass!” Kageyama growls as Hinata stares back

“LIAR!” Tanaka screams

“Looks like the great king has a little crush,” Tsukishima teases

Meanwhile Kageyama is now glaring at his team when you approach

“Hey guys what’s up?” You say as everyone looks to you

“Nothing,” Kageyama says before turning to leave

Poor bby is feeling so much right now ☹️

Sure he finds you cute and fun to be around

But these aren’t feelings he’s had before

And what do we do with new feelings?

That’s right 👏

We push them away and pretend they don’t exist 😃

Ok maybe not but that’s what Kageyama does

Soon he’s ignoring you, literally walking the opposite way when you approach

It’s weird and you start to feel ignored and a little sad

In fact, you even ask Hinata what’s up

“Hey Shoyo, did I say something to upset Tobio? He isn’t talking to me anymore,” you ask

So he goes with neither and acts completely oblivious

“Umm sorry Yn, I don’t know what’s up with him,” he says before running 🏃‍♂️ away from his problems

You are extremely confused and hurt 😔

This continues for a while, still unsure of what you’ve done to upset Kageyama

One day, you as Yachi to take over for you with helping the super volleyball idiots

“Are you sure Yn?” Yachi asks

“Yeah, I don’t think Kageyama wants me around anymore,” you sigh

Yachi is literally ready to just tell you what she and everyone knows but she knows it’s not her place

So she agrees

When Yachi shows up instead of you, Kageyama is so confused

“Where’s Yn?” He asks as Hinata finally loses it

“Kageyama you really are stupid,” he says as Kageyama grabs him by the collar

“What did you say dumbass?” He says, getting in Hinata face

“You’ve been ignoring YN and now they don’t think you want them around you, that’s why they asked Yachi to be here instead of them!” Hinata yells as Yachi stands there, nodding her head

Without saying a single word, he RUNS from the gym to find you

He finds you cleaning up in the main gym, as he bolts towards you

Their parents are serious, somewhat boring people and they don’t really get Aedon’s whole idol thing, but they do their best to support all of their children in the pursuit of their passions. Aedon is the middle child of five, and gets along quite well with all of their sisters. They all bond over each other’s artistic endeavors. Their oldest sister is their manager for their idol career.

They like watching people and imagining their stories, and takes inspiration from the people and things that they see happen around them for their songs. They try to keep their inspirations vague and uses a lot of creative freedom, both to keep their stories widely appealing and as to not put anyone on blast, but has occasionally fumbled it and nearly gotten in trouble. Their sister often has to remind them to be more mindful. (They wrote The Rogue Daisy about one of Philly’s particularly bad “mini breakups” and it became the hit breakup song of the summer, which resulted in them having to lay low for a month until Philly and his boyfriend go back together.)

Though they're generally an amiable person they’ve had to become more careful of the people they let close. They like to keep their daily life separate from their idol persona so they’re very wary of people who treat them like a character regardless, and of people who only approach others to see what they can get out of them (of which there’s no shortage of at NRC lol). They became friends with Xander, and by extension Lucas bc they could tell they’re both very genuine puppies without a single ill meaning brain cell in their bodies. The pups call them Ai-chan (an in jest nickname that stuck).

Calliope’s music is a little niche, but they’re a popular singer among Ignihyde students. Not everyone in the dorm knows/believes Aedon is Calliope, and the ones that know are too intimidated by them to approach them lol

Daichi’s Birthday “Wake”

↳ I had this idea and couldn't wait 8 months for Daichi's bday so fuck it, here it is. Happy early birthday to Daichi.

↳ Notes/Warnings: timeskip!Daichi, Daichi is 21+ years old, playful/joking mention of necrophilia, death and death-related themes (fucking spoilers), those with a distaste for morbid senses of humor are likely to find this reprehensible, otherwise you're welcome.

You and Suga are the masterminds behind it all

Old teammates and friends are invited

Hell, y’all even get his siblings in on it (his parents think it’s a hilarious scheme but decline to attend since it would be too difficult to play along. Understandably so.)

When Coach Ukai caught wind of the plan he insisted on being there

All in all, about 30 people gather inside your and Daichi’s shared home

Everyone’s wearing black and several of you have handkerchiefs

There are drinks and refreshments

Everyone chipped in to buy a cheap urn and one of those huge funeral wreaths and a tripod with a tasteful plaque that reads “In Loving Memory of Daichi Sawamura”, compliments of Hisoka

You and Suga lay down the ground rules: “Absolutely ignore Daichi, no matter what. If he starts getting to you, excuse yourself to the restroom so he’ll leave you alone. Try your very best not to laugh, but if you do lose your shit and start laughing, pretend you’re crying really hard. We’re going to keep this up for a half hour, minimum. Or until Daichi starts getting mad, whichever comes first. When (Y/n) gives us the signal, we’ll all turn to Daichi at the same time and yell ‘Happy Birthday!’ What’s the signal, (Y/n)?” “The signal is…CACAW CACAW!”

Daichi comes home from work, expecting a party when he sees everyone’s cars in the driveway and parked along the road. But his big grin falters when he walks through the door and sees everyone moping around, talking in hushed tones about what a great guy he was, just…

KAGS: “Daichi was always so good at pulling people together. He truly was an excellent team captain.”

SUGA, fake-sobbing: “He was my best friend. Oh gods, I already miss him so much!”

DAICHI, his expression knitted in confusion and concern: “Suga. What’s going on? Who died?”

SUGA, fake-sobbing (read: laughing) harder: “It’s like I can still hear his voice…”

TSUKKI: (legit laughs)

COACH UKAI: “Tsukishima, you sick fuck, why are you laughing? This is serious!”

DAICHI, chuckling: “Okay. Alright, I get it. I’m dead ha ha.”

TANAKA, shaking his fist and gritting his teeth with tears in his eyes: “I’ll never be able to forgive myself…”

KIYOKO: “That you didn’t call the receive that day will haunt you for the rest of your life…”

TANAKA: “Savage woman!”

DAICHI: “Yeah, Tanaka. You asshole.”

TANAKA: (buries his face in his hands, racked with laughter guilt)

…Daichi notices the memorial plaque with his police academy photo in it, along with the giant wreath hanging from the fireplace just below where the urn sits on the mantle. He opens it with great curiosity…”REALLY, YOU GUYS? RICE??”

DAICHI’S 4 SURVIVING SIBLINGS: “The best big brother we could’ve ever asked for.” “He always took such great care of us.” “Yes. Made sure we always did our homework and brushed our teeth. It was like having a third parent.” “Maybe that’s why Mom and Dad had so many of us. It really takes a village, doesn’t it?” The others hum in somber agreement. His youngest sister runs to the bathroom when Daichi waves his hand in front of her face.

ASAHI, legitimately crying: “My heart goes out to you and the rest of your family. Daichi was like a brother to me, too.”

NOYA, rubbing Asahi’s back: “There there, Asahi.”

HINATA, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder and handing you his handkerchief: “I am so sorry for your loss, (Y/n). Daichi-san really was such a good man.”

YOU: “Thank you, Hinata. I know I will never find a kinder, more loving boyfriend. And our wedding was only just a few weeks awayyyyyy…” you trail off, laugh-crying into the handkerchief

being in a relationship with nishinoya yū is spontaneous, a wild ride, and always living on the edge. he loves to explore, adventures, acitivities that require lots of energy as well as the thrill.

but for this very special day, he'd like to take his time with you and spend each and every second that he can because you deserve the whole world, if not more.

he knows today is your special day, of course. so, naturally, he'd let you sleep in as much as you want — watching your steady breathing, admiring your sleeping face that always takes his breath away, and the fact that your hair is splayed all over the pillows and even some on him.

nishinoya can't help but tighten his hold on you, burying his face in your hair and placing a kiss there.

he wants to let you have your beauty sleep, but he just can't wait for you to wake up and do the things he has planned.

not being able to help himself anymore, he pecked your nose, then your cheeks, your forehead, until you let out a rumbly laugh at his attacks.

“yū! that tickles...” you weakly pushed his face away from yours, smushing it in the process as he makes kissy noises.

“but, baby, today's your special day! i want to give you the special treatment. starting with my love attack!” nishinoya exclaimed and went back to peppering your face and neck with kisses, your uncontrollable laughter filling the room like warm sunlight and if nishinoya could, he'd want to wake up to that sound every day.

“okay, okay! that's enough, yū!” after coming down from your laughter, you breathe out a sigh of relief. noya's kisses surely did woke you up as he intended. you stared up at your lover who's gaze is as soft as yours, his beaming smile blinding like the sun.

“hey, i have a surprise for you!” was the only thing he said before he pushed the sheets off him, getting up and out of bed and out of the room.

“what is it? yū!” when he didn't respond, you got up off the bed, curiosity filling your mind.

tiptoeing out of the room, you're immediately met by small orange arrows pointing to the living room. you followed it closely and cautiously until it led you to the coffee table where a gift is questionably wrapped. sure, it's not perfect, but it's the thought that counts.

nishinoya is nowhere to be seen, but you figured you should open the gift. upon doing so, it revealed a keychain of matching charaters from the show you're currently bingeing with him. inside the box there's a note saying:

no matter how many shows we watch, i'd gladly stay up with you throughout it all.

heart thumping, you admired the keychains and slung them on your fingers to avoid it from getting lost. you noticed the note included the next clue to the next gift.

heading to the kitchen, you opened the cupboards and sure enough there's a neat box this time, one that you recognize was from your favorite store. attached on the box was another note:

i love it when you cook me/bake me food, even drinks! i'd gladly eat it for the rest of my life! i wish i can do the same for you but this is the best thing that i can do for now.

the note made you chuckle. before moving on to the next clue, you decided to eat the food, wishing that your boyfriend is sharing it with you right now, but you're sure he'll show up after all this.

once you're satisfied and had your delicious breakfast, you head to the backyard where the last gift was supposed to be.

you opened the door to the backyard, and there, you can see nishinoya with his back to you, seeming like he's reciting lines. to what, you didn't know.

slowly, you approached him, hugging him from behind.

“thank you so much, yū! you're so sweet, did you stay up all night coming up with this?” you asked, nuzzling your face on the crook of his neck. you can feel his bashful laughter from his back, his hand coming up to hold your arm against him.

finally, he turned around with teary eyes and a big smile on his face.

“yū...? why are you crying, baby?”

nishinoya didn't say anything. he gently knelt down on one knee as he looked up at you like you hung the sun, the moon and all of the stars in the sky. it was overflowing with love that you can't help but gasp, feeling the sting of fresh tears at the corners of your eyes.

“i'd gladly binge every movie and show with you, eat as many food that you make, but most of all, i'd love it even more if i can do those things and many more with you for the rest of our lives.” his voice cracked at the end of the sentence, pausing to compose himself as tears escaped his eyes.

he pulled something out of his pocket, and it was a heart shaped box, revealing a ring. nishinoya looked up at you with hopeful eyes full of love.

“will you do the honor of being my wife?” he finally uttered the words he wanted to say for years now. at first he was unsure, but this time he knew — you're the one he wanted to spend his forever.

you lunged at him with a bone-crushing hug, making you both fall over into a crying and laughing mess as you crashed your lips in his.

“yes! a thousand times yes! i'll marry you.” noya smiled in relief and overwhelming happiness. he hugged you close, kissing you deeply, his heart soaring to the skies as he can't wait to make you happy for the rest of your lives together.

“happy birthday, baby. i love you.”

Heyoo!! I'm here with a cute little Asanoya drabble for Noya's birthday!

Thanks to my dear friend @nedryn-laughs for reminding me of this adorable pickup line for the second year in a row :P Enjoy!!

"Asahi. I'll buy your lunch for a week if you go downstairs right now and say this to Nishinoya."

Sugawara held his phone out to show him, and Asahi almost choked on the bite of food in his mouth. His face began to flush from the force of coughing and the sheer embarrassment of just the thought of walking up and saying something like that to Nishinoya.

It was common knowledge to Asahi's two closest friends (and at least half the team thanks to one of those close friends being so chatty about other people's love lives, Suga,) that he had a rather incurable crush on their team's dependable libero, and that made this little bet all the more difficult. But a challenge was a challenge, and if he shied away he'd have to deal with their teasing, anyway.

Asahi stood up, trashed the wrapper from his sandwich, and squared his shoulders with a huff. To anyone who didn't know him, the determined look on his face as he pushed open the door for the stairwell down to the second years' floor would be terrifying, but Sugawara and Daichi both knew Asahi was barely holding his composure together beneath his intimidating outward appearance.

He found Nishinoya easily enough, and great, he wasn't alone. He almost never was with how magnetic his personality was, so he guessed he couldn't blame- Focus, Azumane. You're here to do this damned dare, run away, pretend it never happened, and collect your reward of a week's worth of free lunches.

"Asahi-san! Here to wish me a happy birthday? Did you get me a present?!" Noya was practically vibrating in his seat while Tanaka and Ennoshita sat on either side of him, and they both wore curious expressions while also trying to pretend they weren't paying attention past a polite greeting and a nod in Asahi's direction.

Asahi all but choked on his own spit. "I uh, I do have something for you, yes, but it's in the clubroom, sorry. I just..." He wrung his hands nervously, glanced down at his shoes, and snapped his attention back up to Noya's face. Now or never. Just get it over with. Then you can all laugh about how ridiculous this is, and that'll be that. Easy.

"Noya, are you today's date?"

Noya blinked back at him like he was speaking a foreign language. Ennoshita snorted beside him a second later, and desperately tried to cover it up while the gears in Noya's head were still visibly turning.

Asahi's shoulders slumped. "You know...because you're uh, a ten out of ten," he mumbled, face burning like he'd fallen asleep in the sun.

Before he could suffer the inevitable ridicule from his crush and underclassman, he waved goodbye, mumbled out an apology, and barely kept himself from stumbling out of the room, up the stairs, and back to where Suga was already cackle-laughing when he saw the mortified look on Asahi's face.

"Oh my god, Daichi. He actually did it! Guess lunch is on me next week. How did it go? Asahi, breathe! You're starting to freak me out!"

Asahi crumpled into the seat beside them, and let his forehead hit the desk with a thud. Once his breathing evened out, he lifted his head just enough to explain.

"I said it and left. I couldn't just stand there and wait for it to click, Suga! It was embarrassing enough as it was!"

Meanwhile, a floor below them, Noya sat shocked in place while his friends began to lose their shit beside him. "Noya. My dude. I think Asahi just tried to hit on you. Hellooo?? Earth to Noya? I think that killed him, Ennoshita."

Noya snapped out of his daze when Tanaka began to wave his hand in front of his face, and lunged forward to try and bite it. "If you guys weren't here I would have sworn I fell asleep and that was some sorta dream." He laughed, the faintest hint of a blush on his face, and scratched the back of his neck with a smirk.

"Happy damn birthday to me, I guess."

first, a celebration

I've decided, against my better judgment and at the horrible enableationing of a certain @ezzydean, to write and post 365 ficlets this year, again. I've got a nifty little spreadsheet to keep track and everything. Each one of these will be a different sort of funness. Some will be ceated using the random fic generator I made a while back. Some will have to do with specific numbers or prompts. I'm not promising to post every single day, but I will have 365 by the end of the year. This one in particular is *apparently* the poly karasuno bug coming back to bite me once more, so enjoy!

"God damn you, you stupid motherfucking cunt waffle!"

Asahi smiled, not even bothering to open his eyes as the melody of profanity drifted through the house. It was a beautiful sound, the sound of his love and all the happiness she could bring to his life. There was a long pause of silence, long enough that Asahi could fully wake up and realize just how big and empty their bed was.

When she started shouting again, he grinned and threw the covers off.

"What are you cursing at today?" he asked, padding up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist. He had to stoop to bury his nose in her soft black hair, but it was worth it for the scent of her floral shampoo and the way she leaned back against him with a happy little hum.

"These morons don't know how to play," she groused, and clicked away at her controller some more.

"Why are you playing standing up, you weirdo?" he laughed, and she just shook her head.

"Gotta concentrate," she said, and then immediately shouted, "You fucking piss ant, my grandma could play better than that and she's fucking dead!"

Asahi shook his head with a chuckle and padded off to find himself some coffee. When she finished her round, she shut down the console and followed him into the kitchen.

"Happy birthday," she said, her voice soft and melodious as it always had been. She stepped up behind him, copying the pose he'd used a moment before, and nuzzling between his shoulder blades.

"Thank you, Kiyoko," he said. He patted at her hand until she let him turn around, but she never removed her arms from his waist. "What time does the chaos start?" he asked.

"I told the others to be here around noon, so any time between an hour ago and six this evening," she said. He laughed again, just in time with the pounding of fists on the door. She hummed, swatted him on the ass, then swiped his coffee cup from the counter and nodded toward the door. "Well?" she taunted. "Go on. You know they won't wait for long. They love you too much for that." There was a double meaning in that, but Asahi ignored it for the time being.

"Brat," he laughed, and went to face his fate. As he opened the door and several members of the old Karasuno team tumbled in in a pile, he couldn't help but think that this right here was exactly how he wanted it.

"Asahi-san!" Nishinoya shouted from his spot on the top of the heap. "What the hell are you still doing in your pajamas?"

"Well, Noya, I just woke up, having spent the morning of my birthday lounging in bed, but a certain group of miscreants decided to interrupt me," Asahi huffed, and Nishinoya grinned up at him.

"I don't think they know what the word 'miscreants' even means," Tsukishima drawled. He was the only one who had avoided the pile, and he stood with his hip leaning against the doorway and his arms crossed and a smile on his face.

"Probably not," Asahi agreed, and hauled Nishinoya out of the doorway so that the others could start standing. He counted six: Nishinoya and Tsukishima, Tanaka, Hinata, Kageyama, and buried all the way at the bottom where Asahi hadn't even seen him, Kinoshita, who turned and glowered at Kageyama as soon as he was freed. "Are the others coming here, or are we meeting them?" Asahi asked.

"Daichi-san and Suga-san said they were coming here, but Yamaguchi and Narita-san are picking Yacchan up and meeting us at the shrine," Hinata chirped in answer. Asahi glanced at the clock on the stove and nodded.

"We should probably get going as soon as Daichi and Suga get here, then, to make sure Tadashi and Kazuhito don't break anything," he said.

"You gonna go in your boxers?" Tanaka asked with a waggle of his eyebrows. Asahi glanced down at himself and hummed.

"I would, but you know how I feel about free shows," he answered, turning down the hall to the sound of Tanaka choking on his own laughter. Kiyoko met him in the bedroom, leaning up on her toes to press a kiss to his cheek.

"Are you going to do it this year?" she asked.

"We'll see how the shrine visit goes," he answered. She nodded.

"I'm with you either way."

"I know."

Suga and Daichi were just arriving when Asahi emerged, dressed this time. Suga hadn't removed any of his layers, but at the sight of Asahi coming down the hall, Daichi groaned and started pulling his coat back on.

"Do we have everyone?" Suga asked. "Who's got the child leashes today?"

"It's my birthday, so not me," Asahi said serenely.

"I lived in a foreign country for--"

"Two years, we know, Shouyou," Nishinoya interrupted. "I've set foot on six different continents. It's not gonna stop them from trying."

"You're both so small. We just don't want to lose you in the crowds!" There was absolute innocence in Suga's voice, but they all knew by then not to trust that. Hinata just rolled his eyes and stomped out the front door.

As Asahi walked through the streets toward the nearest shrine, he turned the same thought over and over in his head like a shiny stone. Kiyoko held one of his hands, muttering obscenities under her breath as they walked arm-in-arm, but the other hand was swinging back and forth in Suga's grip. Kinoshita had Noya in a piggyback hold, while Hinata tried to cajole Tsukishima into the same. Tanaka and Daichi were talking in soft tones at the front of the group.

"You know," Suga said, quiet enough that Asahi could pretend not to hear, if he wanted, "It doesn't need to fit in a box. It doesn't need a label that anyone else understands. If it works, it works, and that's all that matters."

Asahi hummed, squeezing his hand. They were just coming up to the shrine, their missing three waiting for them at the bottom of the steps. Asahi took a deep breath of the cold air and looked around at all of them, chattering and laughing and swearing and hanging off of one another, moving in a synchronized orbit like they had for years now. Suga was right, he thought, and smiled. What did it matter what anyone else thought, when he had this? Good fortune was already his, and had been all along. He just had to reach out and take it.

So he did.

don't worry, i noticed that tumblr is being weird with asks but i've only gotten this one from you. and sure thing, i do! so—

oinoya & birthdays, huh?

okay, psa that in the long-chaptered fic that plays in my head like a movie they meet by chance, fall by accident and get together during the time-skip. which means, long-distance relationship.

they try their best to make plans and accommodations so that they can be in the same place for oikawa's birthday in july and noya's in october.

best case scenario: they spend oikawa's birthday in san juan, then noya leaves, and when october comes along — and if oikawa's schedule with the volleyball team allows it — they spend noya's birthday somewhere else. as in, oikawa flies himself there.

a personal example of mine? ireland. during the fall season. they had so much fun!

of course, it depends on schedules and finances. traveling isn't cheap, noya works around backpacker-level earnings, and oikawa is a professional athlete. if anything happens, even though obviously it is sad, they still text and video call each other.

no timezone will stop oikawa from being the first to say happy birthday to his boyfriend and shower him with love and a certain kind of attention, just like no distance will stop noya from ordering a huge-ass bouquet or cake or breakfast to be delivered to his boyfriend from literally the other side of the ocean, either.

speaking of, noya is very extra and spot-on with gifts as in general, but he also has a witty and mischievous sense of humor so joke's on you i'm positive oikawa got serenaded by a music group under his window once. it was fucking hilarious, especially because of the words, but he also kind of wanted to go become a hermit lol.

he shouldn't have introduced his bf to his team's libero. libero affinity knows no border, you fool!

another thing i'm sure of is that noya popped up at oikawa's doorstep unannounced to surprise him even though they were both sure he wouldn't make that time around.

also, i mentioned cake before, didn't i? well, let it be known i have the hc that for noya's 26th birthday last year they did celebrate with a homemade cake at oikawa's place. it was made by the old lady who lived next door, to be clear, as tooru is a hazard to any kitchen. and it also... well, it only had six candles because he only had six in his house. noya literally didn't give a shit though, if the kisses he gave him were anything to go by.

last but not least, not to be crass — and mind the nsfw here! — but their libido is so high birthday marathon sex is 101% their thing.

all in all, they're two stupid mfs who try their best to celebrate each passing year together. because they are in love, obviously, and also because they don't want the other to feel lonely with how far their families and friends live. they'll never say this but heh, i know it. you guys know it too now.
