La mulți ani, România!! ❤️🎉🎁
Mmmm....
Cum sărbătoriți această zi frumoasă??

That spring, Steve’s mom finally gets tired of getting cheated on and files for divorce. His dad is a dick about it and hires a bunch of lawyers to ensure that she basically leaves with nothing. Worse, he fights her for custody of Steve and taunts her with the fact she’ll never see him again - because why would any teenager want to give up everything, just to rough it out with their train-wreck of a mother? But jokes on him cause the judge basically leaves it up to Steve, and Steve would rather stomp on his own balls than get stuck with that asshole. Even if it means having to leave the big house and his car and starting over in a new place where nobody knows him.
Steve never met his mother’s side of the family in California. All he really knows is that the family disapproved of her marriage. There’s a story about his aunt coming to visit once on his birthday when he was like five, but she got in a fight with mom and she’s never been back. So Steve doesn’t even think about them when he tries to imagine what he and his mom are going to do on their own. He imagines her selling her car and the other gifts dad put in her name over the years to rent a decent apartment somewhere, maybe in Indianapolis or Chicago.
He’s really shocked one night when she announces that she’s been in touch with her family, and she she asks him about how he feels about moving to California to some sleepy little town called Moonwood. She tries to enthuse him about it by going on about how beautiful it is there, right at the edge of the national forest, but Steve’s more concerned with the fact that they’ll be living with people who hate them - and in the sticks too! Its two hours to the nearest mall! How’s he gonna find a job in this place? And what about school?
But Steve looks around at the hotel they’ve been staying in and the paper thin smile she fixes on her face to try and hide her broken heart from him and how fucked everything is, and he just wants her to be okay.
They move to California, and the one bright side is the relatives turn out to be not all that hateful. There’s awkward tension and a shit load of history there for sure, but from the minute they pull up to his grandparents house the door is thrown open and they’re welcomed with open arms. His grandpa seems a little stiff at first, but Steve gets the impression its because he doesn’t know what to do with himself as Steve’s mom and his grandma hug each other and cry. The weirdest part is when they start speaking in a language Steve’s never heard his mother use before.
Later his aunt tells him it’s lythan, but she just laughs when Steve asks if that means they’re from Lithuania. Apparently lythan is a very old language that started in romania and is only spoken today in two places. Here, and some village in romania that an ancestor immigrated from.
None of this is making sense to him but he’s just happy his mother seems happier and that he has help taking care of her, since she’s still pretty broken up about the divorce. She’s always been a passionate woman his mom. The kind of person who believes in soulmates and love at first sight. She’s always told him that when he meets the one for him he’ll know it in an instant and that he should hang on to that person with his whole heart. Which sounded great and all when he was a kid, but honestly just makes him sad now when he looks at how things turned out with her and his dad.
The first week after they get there, Steve cant sleep and catches his mother, his grandmother and his aunt talking in the kitchen late one night. He overhears her say that she knew it was a risk being with his dad, but that she’d have regretted it more if she didn’t follow her heart. Even if she wasn’t the one for Steve’s dad the way he was for her, she’d always be grateful because she has Steve. But she doesn’t want him to grow up feeling like he has to change who he is and like he always has to be the one giving to someone else just to be loved.
For the first time since the divorce Steve is almost mad at her - wants to shout it’s too late mom! - but the feeling passes as quickly as it comes. He’s just sad, for them both. But he hopes things will be okay here and that this can be a new start. It could be worse right? At least he gets a room to himself. Yeah it’s kinda weird that his aunt still lives at home and nobody seems to have a problem with that, or is talking about what his moms plans are like they expect that she’ll just be there forever now. But he figures they’re all just focused on making up for lost time right now.
And his grandma says that people in Moonwood stay close to home anway, and that most of them spend their whole lives there without leaving. It shocks him to learn that she’s never been further outside of town than to the edge of the national forest.
His second worry, about finding a job, gets resolved by his his grandfather - who runs a soda shop on the beach. There’s not much traffic durring the off season, but in summertime the redwoods draw a fair number of tourists. Steve’s kept very busy scooping up ice cream and making root beer floats while he flirts with the gap year girls who come through in groups, to backpack through the forest. He’s just turned eighteen and he’s never had much of a problem picking up girls so he has a few flings. He gets invited to parties on the beach and ends up doing a lot of hiking that summer in his downtime. But then fall rolls around and with fewer and fewer groups of tourists passing through Steve finds himself at loose ends.
School starts up again and he realizes that maybe it was a mistake not to put more of an effort into meeting local kids and making a few connections beforehand. Schiller High is over in the next district, and Moonwood is so far out the kids have to be bussed in. Steve’s a little nervous about starting a new school in his senior year but he tells himself it’s just one year. One year and then he has no idea what to do with himself after that, but at least he won’t be forced to attend school anymore. Still, he begs his mom to let him take their car to school the first day so that he doesn’t have to be the oldest kid on the bus. He’s pretty sure that’s a social constant even out here in the middle of nowhere.
Schiller seems pretty normal at first. It’s about the same size as his school back in Hawkins was. The school receptionist calls in some guy named Tim to show him around his first day and make sure he gets to all his classes. Tim’s alright, but Steve can see the neon nerd sign blinking above his head and plays it cool. He’s not an asshole or anything, he just doesn’t want to close any doors before getting the lay of the land. Steve just wants an easy year and he’s not gonna get that if he’s hanging out with a bully magnet - sorry Tim. Plus, Steve’s not exactly thrilled about the way Tim talks about ‘moonies’ - which is apparently what other people call people from Moonwood, instead of hicks or whatever. Steve doesn’t bother telling Tim that he’s technically a moonie now too.
His aspirations to plant himself firmly in the middle of the student social hierarchy and go unnoticed for the next ten months involve finding a group - or a pack as his grandfather weirdly put it when he assured Steve he’d find his in no time and start to feel more at home once school started. He asks Tim about the school’s athletic teams because being on a team with a bunch of other guys will basically do the work for him. There’s a swim team that Steve is definitely going to try out for. He’s not sure about basketball. He only got started back in Hawkins because his dad thought it was manlier than ‘playing’ in the pool. But he likes it okay, and Tim says the Schiller team has actually won a few regional titles.
Even though it’s his last year Steve figures it can’t hurt his college applications to be on a winning team for once. He probably won’t to start or anything but he thinks he has a good shot of seeing some playing time.
“I would stick with swimming if I were you. There’s no way you’re getting on the team.” Tim laughs. “The head coach is a moonie and he only ever picks guys from Moonwood.”
That doesn’t seem very legal, but that’s not Steve’s problem. He figures Tim is probably exaggerating anyway, just salty that the coach is giving a little extra focus to the guys from the less privileged side of the tracks.
Until Steve actually sees Billy and some of the other guys from the team.
It’s just before lunch when Steve and Tim have stopped by Steve’s locker. A blond kid in a red and white letterman jacket appears at the mouth of the hall, flanked by two other guys. It’s like something out of a movie the way the hallway clears for them and the other students gaze at them with awe filled expressions as if they’re watching a parade of olympians pass through.
“That’s Billy Hargrove. He’s captain of the basketball team.” Tim answers the unspoken question in Steve’s glance. “Don’t get on his bad side. He’s pretty much the top dog around here.”
Steve doesn’t need Tim to tell him Billy runs things around here. The guy is built like the terminator. Like someone who has ascended above mere mortals and wouldn’t be out of place among the gods. He’s built like a man, Steve finally settles on with an prickle of embarrassment hot in his chest. Steve’s a guy and he doesn’t go out of his way to look at other guys a lot, but he appreciates the things about them that are enviable.
Only envy is the furthest thing from Steve’s mind when he first sees Billy. It’s like time slows for Steve. His mouth gets dry, and he thinks to himself that Billy Hargrove is beautiful, and he wonders what that’s like. Steve knows he’s good looking. This isn’t some self depreciation bullshit, it’s just inexplicably different somehow the way he looks at Billy and thinks he finally understands what real beauty is. The way he instantly wants to get closer to him, reach out and touch. Billy has none of the unfinished awkwardness of a teenager. He’s a poster child for physical perfection that Steve is convinced walked off of a poster taped up on somebody’s wall, and has no business walking down the halls of an American high school. Seriously. How is this guy real?
He spares a quick glance for the other two guys with Billy - Dave & Chet - just long enough to confirm that he’s fucked. If these are the kinds of guys they’ve got on the team, Steve has no chance of seeing anything but a bench all year.
Billy and the other two stop at a locker not far from Steve’s on the other side of the hall, but not before Billy’s gaze does a casual sweep around the hall - very much a king surveying his kingdom. Steve fully expects that gaze to pass right over him just as unimpressed as it does everyone else, but to his surprise Billy’s gaze locks with his and sticks.
A little tingle dances up Steve’s spine and he sucks in a breath. He can’t tell what color Billy’s eyes are from this distance - at first he thinks they are something light, like a blue or grey, but then the corner of Billy’s mouth tilts up in a smirk and the light hits them a certain way and they look almost gold as he runs his tongue over some very white fangy teeth. Jesus the guy has some chompers on him.
Steve’s not afraid of a fight but it’s profoundly unsettling to have some dude literally licking his chops at him like he can’t wait to take a bite of the fresh meat. He’s pretty sure he just landed himself on Billy Hargrove’s shit list and he has no idea why. Fuck his life.
But he figures there’s nothing he can do about it but ignore it and hope that Billy decides he’s not worth the trouble. Steve turns to shut his locker, sending the message with his back that he doesn’t care about the dude giving him the crazy eyes and that Billy doesn’t intimidate him. His sweaty palms tell a different story, but that’s for Steve and only Steve to know.
As he leaves, he can feel Billy’s eyes burning into his back like lasers.
So much for going unnoticed for the year.
Now with Part 2

Headcanon that Bucky LOVES LOTR. Like, OBSESSED with it kinda love.
He doesn't know that The Hobbit had a sequel: he avoided bookshops altogether while hiding in Romania because it reminded him of something painful.
So when he finally gets to know is POST Endgame when Steve lovingly hand paints dust jackets for each volume and surprises him with it on his 106th birthday.
Bucky goes CRAZY. The rest of the Avengers have never seen the quiet brooding Bucky like this. Ever.
He's holding his head in his hands and jumping about yelling things like "APPENDICES, STEVE, THE APPENDICES!" and "THERE'S AN ELVISH ALPHABET???" and "BILBO HAS A FUCKING SON FROM THORIN? - oh no that's just his nephew."
Steve's pulled into a passionate kiss, but it lasts for barely a second before Bucky goes back to the books, sitting on the backrest of the sofa instead of anywhere normal. Sam is chuckling in awe because the grumpy old man he knew was literally giggling and kicking his feet as he started reading right away.
And Steve, his lips are red from the kiss and aching from grinning so widely. Bucky was trigger happy and not triggered, for the first time in 70 years. He's close to tears because this was the happiest he'd seen Bucky since before he got drafted.
Bucky calms down from 100 to an 89 before he kisses Steve again, more properly this time.
"Happy Birthday..." Steve murmured into his lips, smiling.
"What do you mean? Do you wish me a happy birthday, or mean that it is a happy birthday whether I want it or not?" Bucky smirked. "Or that you feel happy this birthday; or that it is a birthday to be happy on?"

MIDNIGHT RAIN.
Georgie Farmer x fem!reader
summary: when you noticed how Georgie started to ignore you, you decided to go and see him.
WARNINGS! angst, rude!Georgie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHEN YOU MET GEORGIE, it was like that the whole world lighted up, he wasn't famous or anything, he was just Georgie.
Your Georgie.
When he called you telling about his role on Wednesday you almost teared up, of course you were happy, he was your everything and you just wanted to see him shining.
But then, the things started to slip, after two months that he went to set, he called you.
"Hey, I'm sorry... can we... uh, can we leave our relationship as a secret? You know, I just don't want anyone hating you and everything..."
Of course, you agreed, you never cared about it anyways. You were happy with him and hopefully he was happy with you too, also, he was just being a caring boyfriend, right?
Weeks passed and he started to ignore everything you sent, from messages to know if he was okay to birthday videos you always sent to him. He never answered them, but you thought that it was because of his job and that he was busy so you stopped sending messages and waited until he was free again.
When he finally finished filming, you tried to call him to ask if he was okay, how it went and everything, but again, no answer. So you decided to surprise him, booking a flight to Romania.
You were so oblivious about the fact that he didn't wanted anything with you, that you thought that it was a good idea to go to his apartment. With a beautiful wrapped present in your hands and his favorite hoodie, you knocked on the door.
Who opened it was one of his cast mates, one that you didn't even know the name.
— Oh, hello?- the boy asked confused.
— Hi! I'm Georgie's friend, I don't think he mentioned about me though...- you nervously said, hoping to not sound like a crazy fan- You don't need to let me in though! I just wanted to see if he was okay, he didn't responded to my messages and I got worried- you smiled shyly.
— Oh, yeah, I can get him if you want...?- he waited for your name.
— Y/N! Are you one of his friends?- you asked and he chuckled.
— Yes! I'm Oliver, wait a second, I'll get him- he left the door open and went inside, you waited patiently.
A girl stopped on your side at the same time you tapped your phone to see the time, a photo of you and Georgie kissing and smiling on your lock screen.
— Oh my! That's cute! Are you Georgie's girlfriend?- the girl smiled and you turned around.
— Oh! Yeah, but I don't think he talked about it, you're very pretty!- you said with a smile on your face.
— Aw thanks! I'm Emma and yes, I don't think he mentioned about having a girlfriend- she said and before you could talk more, Georgie appeared on the door- You should come in! We are having a dinner and you seems pretty cool- she said.
— Hey Em, can you go inside? I'll talk to Y/N really quick- Georgie said softly and Emma looked between them.
— It's cold Georgie, you shouldn't leave her here- she frowned but Georgie completely ignored it.
— Oh no, it's okay, I didn't expected him to have guests! I'm probably interrupting something anyways- you said and Emma laughed.
— Oh please, you're not interrupting anything, Georgie wouldn't mind it! Come on- she dragged you inside and you heard Georgie sighing- Hey guys! This is Y/N, she is Georgie's girlfriend!- she excitedly said and everyone turned to look at you, making you wave shyly.
— Hi! I'm sorry, I was just supposed to see if Georgie was okay and give him something- you said and turned to look at Georgie who didn't had the greatest face.
— Georgie why you never said that your girlfriend is so pretty?- that person you knew, Jenna Ortega, one of your favorite actresses.
— Yeah, yeah, give us a minute- Georgie pulled you into the kitchen- What are you doing here?- he asked closing the door.
— I-I-I mean, you... you never texted back and I was worried and your birthday passed and I wanted to give you your present- you stuttered, he never seemed so angry before.
— I guess that if I didn't texted back it means something! Are you stupid?- he asked and you froze- And we're supposed to be a secret, why Emma knows about us?- he questioned.
— It was an accident! I didn't saw her and I went to see the time and my lock screen is us!- you defended but you were also on verge of tears- What do you mean it means something? I... I don't get it- you whispered.
— We're over! We're over Y/N! That's it!- he exclaimed throwing his arms in the air, you swallowed your tears.
— Oh- was the only thing that came out of your mouth- I'm sorry... I just thought that- he interrupted you.
— Well thought nothing Y/N, I'm trying to take my career seriously and you just annoy the shit out of me, can't you see it?- he scoffed and you simply nodded.
— Okay, I'm sorry- you muttered and looked at the present in your hands- I guess I'll go now, happy birthday by the way- you smiled sadly and put the wrap on his hands.
You open the door and starts to walk, but Emma jumped in front of you.
— Are you going? I thought you would eat with us, it's pretty cold outside- she said and you smiled.
— I'm sorry Emma, I would love to but I have a flight today, like I said, I just passed to give Georgie something and I would be going- you lied, you were supposed to go back in the next week.
— Oh, that's sad, did he liked the present? I bet he loves it!- she clasped her hands and you wanted to break down right there.
— Oh, he didn't opened it, I think he'll open later, thanks for the offer though, you're really sweet- you said and she laughed.
— Oh Y/N, I really wanted to know you better since Georgie never talked about you, but you're really sweet too! I hope we have another chance to talk!- she hugged you.
Georgie watched you walk out of the door and the clock hits midnight, the smile you gave to him broke him completely.
You were his sunshine.
You brightened every room you walked in and he just broke it because of his selfishness, you never wanted anything but his happiness.
— What the fuck did you do dude?- Oliver asked- She was all bubbly and nervous when she came in and she walked out of the kitchen with a raining cloud over her head- Georgie gulped down his own words and gripped tightly the wrapped box on his hands.
— Nothing, just... nothing- he whispered and walked to the couch and opened the gift.
Of course you bought him the watch he wanted for so long, he took it and noticed how shaky his hands were, you two never fought, you were the total opposite of him but you were always there cheering him up.
You were so calm while he was a pile of anxiety, when his days were grey you painted it with the brightest colors existent, when he just wanted to disappear you pulled him back up.
They looked outside when it started to rain badly and he grew worried, he left you alone in this cold and rain, he felt so stupid.
You were his sunshine, unfortunately, he was only the midnight rain.

THISTHISTHIS!!!
Like, I personally don't consider myself a "Zionist" in the modern sense. I have several disputes with the secular Herzli-esque Zionist movement (both political and theological), but I certainly wouldn't consider myself an anti-Zionist. I have a lot of respect for much of what the Tzionim have accomplished for the sake of Jews, and for Israel, even if we might disagree over correct methods and motivations.
And I definitely associate myself with the traditional Zion-loving Jewish beliefs (what you called the "Zionist nature of Judaism"). Of course I do. These are core tenants of Judaism that have been around since the days of Avraham, and they're so central that I don't really understand how any Jew couldn't believe them. Wherever in the world we might reside, the piece of land now known as Israel has always been Home.
 אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני
Hi, lovely to meet you! ^u^
I wanna reinforce your last paragraph SO MUCH. Judaism is so fundamentally tied to the Land of Israel, to Jews loving it, to sanctifying our bond with this place, and I have always felt exactly that: when I'm abroad, I'm never quite at peace, not until I'm back on Israel's soil, and have that sense of I'm home. And it always makes me so happy whenever I hear from non-Israeli Jews, that they feel something similar when they come to visit Israel. It's what I believe all native people feel when they get to experience standing on their ancestral land, whether they live there or not. It's something that allows us to feel connected, not just to the earth beneath our feet, but also to our ancestors who lived here, and to generations upon generations of our people who yearned to return here.
As for the modern political movement that is Zionism, maybe I'll just mention my personal story. I was born in Communist Romania, at a time when the financial situation was incredibly dire, food was rationed, and generally speaking, the regime had control over everything. Its power over the citizens was limitless, and quite a few people who were a part of this regime, were antisemitic. They used that limitless power to persecute Jews, even as Communism supposedly vowed all its citizens would be treated equally. Some of what was done to my family was actually described by my great uncle, Norman Manea, in his memoir, The Hooligan's Return. My life was in danger at one point. At the time, no citizen of a communist country could leave for a western one, which Israel was. Jews could be jailed for simply expressing the desire to leave for Israel (officially recognized here as "prisoners of Zion"). But in Romania, there was a unique agreement achieved thanks to the chief rabbi of Romanian Jews at the time, Rabbi Rosen (who my grandfather and his brother worked with, so he was also the rabbi who married my parents). Israel paid Communist Romania for every Jew allowed to make aliyah. IDK how much Israel had to pay for my parents, for my grandparents, and for baby me, but I know Romania demanded a higher price for people with higher education, which all of the adults in my family had. Most importantly, being brought to Israel, and getting here proper medical and nutritional care after the regime's antisemitic abuse, saved my life. I celebrate my aliyah day every year as my second birthday, because I got a second chance at life on that day.
And at the end of the day, that's what informs my personal view of Zionism, this personal experience. It leads me to feel that if Zionism saved even one Jewish person, it's the right thing to support it. And Zionism actually saved so many more than that, Jews and non-Jews. It still is! We don't talk about it enough, but when Assad regime in Syria butchered its citizens during the Civil War there, Israel got the last of the Syrian Jews out. When the war between Ukraine and Russia broke out, Israel helped to get out Jews from the war zones in Ukraine, as well as Israeli non-Jews (and even a few Arab friends, including from enemy countries, of Israeli Arabs, who the latter asked for Israel to save), as well as the families of Ukrainian Righteous Among the Nations (non-Jews who risked themselves to save Jewish people during the Holocaust). And when the Houthis, the Yemenite terrorist group funded by Iran, endangered Jews in Yemen, Israel got them out.
No political movement is without fault, obviously. But I think all of the above makes Zionism worthy of support. At least mine.
You said, "These are core tenants of Judaism that have been around since the days of Avraham, and they're so central that I don't really understand how any Jew couldn't believe them."
I agree so much! To remove the many Zionist elements of Judaism, right down to its holy language being Hebrew, which is tied to Israel, is to distort it so much, that it's no longer Judaism.
Whenever I come across an anti-Zionist Jew, I try to keep in mind the following things:
They might be pretending to be Jewish. I've seen more than one anti-Zionist online, claiming they can't be antisemitic, because they're Jewish themselves. Beyond the fact that as a statement, that's NOT true (someone can be gay with internalized homophobia, a woman with internalized misogyny, and in the same way, a Jew who has internalized an antisemitic narrative), it turned out in some cases, it was also factually untrue, as the person was eventually exposed as lying about being Jewish.
This phenomenon has also made it into the news at least twice relatively recently, once when high profile anti-Zionist "Jews" from Germany were exposed as non-Jews.
Another is connected to the Twitter account of "Jewish Voice for Peace," an organization that, despite its title, doesn't actually require its members to be Jewish, but uses its title to present itself as a Jewish organization.
Tumblr media
A member who operates the Twitter account of JVP accidentally tweeted from his personal account, and so ended up exposing himself as a Muslim tweeting, "As Jews..."
Tumblr media
2. Those who actually are anti-Zionist Jews often turn out to be very disconnected from their Jewish identity, except in order to use it to lend their anti-Zionist statements "more weight." (as if a gay man's homophobia should be listened to more, or be more acceptable, just because it's not homophobia coming from a straight person) A really funny example is Ariel Gold, who keeps trying to flaunt her "Judaism" as meaningful to her identity, but in doing so, keeps accidentally exposing how ignorant she is regarding some really basic Jewish concepts. Like that time she was in Iran, and gushed over a picture she took of a menorah... except she didn't know that a menorah wouldn't have 19 branches. She was just gushing over a random, Iranian candelabra.
Tumblr media
3. And then to some anti-Zionist Jews, their Jewish identity does matter, but... the sad thing is, they're either very ignorant over what it entails (so they buy into the antisemitic anti-Zionist narrative without knowing better), or they just don't feel they personally need Israel, so they have no issue being anti-Zionists, to be "good Jews." In this context, I always think about this documentary I saw called "Gay Republicans," where they interviewed an openly gay man, living with his boyfriend, who didn't wanna be a dad himself, so he had no issue insisting that gay people shouldn't be allowed to become parents. I guess some fellow straight republicans would say he's a "good gay."
There's probably more to be said about this, but I think this kind of covers a big part of the people I've come across online. But here's the thing: I believe in the value of Jewish solidarity, I know how many Holocaust survivors talked about how that's what saved them back then, and I am gonna stand by that value, and care so much about the safety and well being of groups 2 and 3, even if they don't give a shit about mine.
Take care, and feel free to write me again, if you feel like chatting some more on this. Chag Sameach and Am Yisrael Chai! xoxox

Ok idk why I avoid so much to start talking more about Romanian culture because I also want to show the small drawings that I do but I always go like "Nah my drawings suck" but like- I'm always going to think my drawings suck???? And also- an artist never stops learning and improving?????
So here
Tumblr media
This is like random things I did (mainly sketches as you can tell) but I actually like them so much and I have so many ideas for stories and stuff and I want to share them aaaaaa
Tumblr media
Anyway here is the middle picture which is like a painting I did a few weeks ago based on an old picture from pinterest of a Romanian lady. This was supposed to be like an experiment but it came out way better than expected idk idk
Tumblr media
This lil sketch was inspired by the hairstyle of Romanian women from last century I thought it was pretty cute but perhaps back then they didn't have time nor the products to better take care of hair :/
(also idk if you noticed but her ie is the same as the top-left drawing from the collage)
(if you don't know what an "ie" is, it's a Romanian traditional blouse. The plural is ii btw :))
Also I feel like I got a lot inspired by Rada Niță but I have no complains 'cause she is amazing if I were to meet her I think I'd die
If you want to check out what she does, her ig is @rada.nita
Also I would write whole paragraphs about my Romanian OCs because we deserve some attention but like when am I supposed to so that :///// school is killing me
But just to throw it out there the girl from the sketch above with the braids and ceapsă is called Doina (I love this name idk)
And since it's the 1st of December HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROMANIA

Sometimes I need to vent into the void. To let my frustration out. Every day brings more and more disgusting, frightening, rage inducing or simply absurd news. Trauma makes you vulnerable. Being Ukrainian nowadays mean having some degree of trauma. And suddenly you find yourself in a world full of triggers, a world you want to escape from. Just one day of news:
"The UN International Commission for Investigation of Violations in Ukraine has no available evidence that genocide is taking place in the conutry"
2. "The Ministry of Security of Romania stated that the falling of a Russian drone on the territory of the country "did not constitute a direct military threat to the national territory or territorial waters of Romania."
3. And this.
Tumblr media
This is a billboard in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk, annexed by Russia since 2014, with the "Prayer for the Head of the Republic". Who, by the way, is extremely hated by literally everyone there. The biggest Pootin fan and any deeply pro-russian moron in Donetsk will tell you that they hate Denis Pushilin and wish him only horrible death.
My city...Sometimes I feel so homesick it hurts, then stuff like this reminds me why I hate it so much. I remember how a few years ago they made this whole campaign with dozens of billboards around the city. There were photos of happy smiling children, first graders, with the inscriptions "I am six years old, I was born in the DPR." Like, yes, six years ago russia occupied this land, killed a bunch of people and stole the future of thousands of Ukrainian kids. Those billboards were driving me insane...and they came up with this shit right on my birthday. Those years felt like the worst years of my life, but clearly I underestimated life back then. Or russia.
don't know where I'm going with all of this. Sometimes I want to write hundreds of such pointless posts, but I try to refrain from doing this too often, it only upsets me more and also attracts individuals who comments something like "glory to russia"
