my chanukah gift for you! this headcanon: when steve and bucky were kids, steve sometimes came with the barneses to shul for shabbat service! george had sewn the two boys matching kippahs so steve wouldn't feel left out 😌 (steve then asked why george's kippah didn't match as well, so papa barnes did sew himself one as well 😤 matching kippahs with your best friend and best friend's dad??? steve was so happy!!!)

when steve and bucky start attending shul again (up to you if steve's a jewish convert or just there to support bucky. jewish convert steve is very important to me though) in the 21st steve gets matching ones for him and bucky, partially because cute, but also to see if he can trigger some memories of bucky's 🥺
