Cannot be ever lasting

You cannot be ever lasting

Nothing lasts forever

No matter your endeavor

Everything must come into a close

But knowing ending everybody knows

That something bright anew

A beautiful new hue

A color I cannot yet see

But my friend if you ask me?

I was just happy to have known the lovely people that I have

Everyday the gravity, nuclear war, human tragedy we never know if it’s ending or going on

But maybe with this song, we’ll find the strength to carry on

As it’s been said for every downpour leaves behind a rainbow

And sometimes breakdowns come from breakthroughs and with blood and sweat and tears

But it’s just the little death, the human race we’re destined to conquer our fears

I love how my “happy playlist” which was auto-generated by Spotify only features songs about having to pretend to be happy and not actually being happy. It’s like Spotify whispers in my ear “you’re a mentally ill bitch and will never be truly happy” 🥹😂

Like the algorithm filters “happy” in the songs but can’t understand that these songs are about actually being unhappy.

Usually once a week, if the weather is decent, I find myself outside, laying out with a few stiff drinks, listening to music. My music of choice mainly is the 80s. I actually have a playlist of over 400 songs, just from the 80s. I like to hit shuffle and just see what comes up. When a particular favorite comes up, of which there are many, I like to share them. This song Id heard a long time ago, but had forgotten about until the movie Jersey Girl came out. At the end of the movie, just as the credits are about to roll, this song plays. It’s been on my playlist ever since.

The weather is wonderful here today, btw. It is currently 71 degrees with 64% humidity. There is also a strong breeze of 11 mph blowing directly at me bringing another nostalgic thing, the smell of burning firewood from somewhere off in the distance.
