Like what I find funny about any discourse around Tolkien’s works is that too often they’re views from the lens of the 21st century and not the actual time they were written, which isn’t even that far ago considering he was around when the Beatles were at the height of their popularity and the U.S. were sending actual mentally handicapped men against rice farmers thousands of miles away from home. Next year marks 50 years since he passed away.
Like, the whole “orcs are black people” thing was always in bad faith especially when there is indeed a North African analogue culture fighting on the side of Sauron, tho as with most “evil” men factions it’s basically spelled out they’re either forcibly enthralled by the Dark Master or have historical grievances against Gondor. Really the only actual group of Men you could unambiguously evil are the Black Numenoreans that ironically aren’t black.
Really if you’re looking at something that might be considered “problematic” there are the Far Harard Half Trolls which are basically zulu esque dudes in loin cloths and spears who are so ugly they’re thought to be descended from Trolls, and it’s unclear if they are or not. But even then they’re like a blip in the lore.

₍ᐢ. ̞.ᐢ₎ ʕ•̫͡•ʔ ₍ᐢ._.ᐢ₎ ᐢ..ᐢ
Today has been up and down
Up and down up and down. It hasn't stopped. Not since morning...all i wanted was for you to have the best birthday.for you to be happy on your birthday. I wished and I manifested. And I'm so so happy to hear have had the the happy birthday you deserve.
Aw you looked so cute today...your birthday sash that was completely adorable on you and odlysuited you really well...i thought you looked so so good in it...every day I look at you.
Hehe you really did look like 'the king of the day' , or whatever it said on that sash...
I take a moment (it many) to take in your beauty. I'm always shocked at how much of an immense amount of beauty you posses...its like every day your beauty gets more and more ethereal...
You always just radiate this aura that attracts me so much...whether it's through your beauty or through anything you do...its just wow.
And today your aura was such a beautiful one. It was almost like you were glowing with the birthday fever of happiness and excitement, and as soon as you were in my presence I felt it too.
Seeing your 15 year old self for the first time was....wow.i
was feeling pretty on edge so when you came over to me as calm and as loving and cuddly as ever it made me so happy. That you stiw had time for me on your special day...it was such a huge comfort for me that you still cared about me even though it was your day...your perfect your perfect your perfect...
I said happy birthday to you and then you said it back hehe. It was rly cute and gave off the kinda clumsy almost shy vibes.... I've never seen that vibe comimg from you before...or maybe it was just me that noticed that.
But yes the highlight of my day personally was that moment.when you came over to me excited and in a lil clumsy shy tizz, and I told you happy birthday and you said it back to me. That was one of the most cute things I've ever seen you do irl...i wanna hear you do it again....
The rest of that lesson, which was English went by.
I got the plesure of being able to look at my birthday boy being happy out of the corner of my eye while trying to write something down about lady macbeth or whatever.but ngl I was definitely more focused on you.
English is that lesson of the day where I can look at your side profile for 50 minutes streight. And I love your side profile just watching you talk to someone or look at the bird or my personal favourite thing to watch is you running your hands through your hair, and from the side I get the best veiw.
I swear most of what I do in English is watch you like your something very very interesting on the TV lol.
But your side profile...its like a ethereal painting of an angel...so beautiful...and also kinds hot at the same time...
But yes you are compleatly mesmerising to watch...so interesting...i physically can't take my eyes off you.
I try and look somewhere else but my eyes wonder their gazr to look back at you. And I don't blame them. Your beautiful so beautiful. My eyes just can't miss such beauty.theh are drawn to your beauty like a moth to a flame...
Sorry if I sound creepy...i probably am..its just that my eyes can't stop looking at you...
You make English lessons such a treat to my eyes..and to my imagination. My current favourite fantasy is of me biting your neck like some sort of vampire lol >~<
I can't help thinking it. Ik it probably sounds weird but your neck just seems to be calling me to take a lil bite.... (sorry im weird asf)
But then the bell rang desrupting my vampire ass fantasies and snapping me back into the real world where I needed to get to physics, and biting your neck unfortunately wasn't my main concern...
Pysics...
I got to the class sat down and..wellt thought about you ngl. Just in a general way. Panicked that everyone else had got you better stuff for your birthday, and that I haddnt done enough, since I was the one with the honour of being your girlfriend.
And I mean your basically a god so it's a pretty big honor...
I between these thoughts I was doing the actual work that needed doing, and turning round to cheak the clock despite having a watch on.
Anything to see a glimpse of you, the light of my life in a dull 50 minute gray morbidity that is also known as Pysics.
The main event in physics was when you walked to the front of the class, allowing my eyes to take in your whole immage. I basically held by breath and just focused on you till I started subconsciously fiddling with my stapler again and gazing at you, basically drooling under my mask and then...
I stapled my mf finger. Your mf beautiful self made me staple my finger. It diddnt really hurt, until it started pissing out blood. I put a plaster on it and it was fine, but it shows how much of a klutz I am, and also how much of a sucker for you I also am...
Then it was breaktime. I gave you your present, and told you not to open it in front of me. Ngl it was a selfish asf thing to say...i was really self conscious...beacuse I knew everyone had got you great presents, especially after you told me that naci had made such an effort for you...
[Ngl I envy naci. She what I want to look like. Be like. I mean she has my old best friend and knows you I should stop lol. But just if your ever reading this, I've been envious of her ever since I've first saw her. Life isn't fair why can't I look like her?! I swear you'd be with her if I wasn't there...shes just wow. I wanna me her yknow lol? 🥺😩😩]
But yes I was really self conscious, and feeling in my full on jelous moody people hate mood, especially for the people who you were friends with...
It was probably down to the 3 hours of sleep I'd been getting for the last week each night, and the fact I'd been on the edge. But I feel really bad for saying that... I should have just lrt you open them...
Ngl I wish I'd have been able to see you put on a smile when you opened it. Put on the bracelet I made for you...too late now, but ig this will be a lesson to future me...
I swear allot of the time I use these blogs for getting better. Like being better to you cuz I read through my mistakes and I try to be better. That's why I'm making a note of these things lol.
Then I went with Angel beacuse I knew if I stuck around I could be a harard, being a jelous sleep deprived slightly Yandere aspie girl, I just decided to remove myself, cuz I was feeling like a big angry self concous raincloud and wanted to stay out of your way to give you the best day possible lol.
So then it was biology a lesson of looking at your extreamly attractive back profile....
And half listening to miss heart go on about the heart, ofc. All i knew was my heart circulates my blood around my body for you. Cuz your the one who makes it beat. And you make it beat fast.
I was watching you..ehehe I sound creepy. I pretty much am ngl. Sorry...i don't wanna make you uncomfy but I csnt help it.
I usually see you and fin pissing about during bio, but this time you squeezed his thigh. It made me pretty angry. That you would do this in my full view. It made me god damn angry, ngl. I mf wanted to lean over the best and squeeze your thigh, just so you'd know I'd seen. But ofc I diddnt do that. I'm too introverted. Doesn't stop me from getting angry and kinda hurt about it.
I mean im usually pretty sensitive about stuff like that. When your too close to someone when you know I'm around, watching or could see it. I try and egnore it with you and Sam. I don't like being angry and sensitive, especially not to you.
But sometimes it feels like I need to set some boundaries. Cuz you clearly dont see that there are boundaries of getting a lil too close to someone in the full view of your jelous asf possessive gf!!
Despite her not saying a word about it ever to you, trying to hint it to you, hoping you'd look back on these times and realise how they make me feel you haven't stopped. Ngl it doesn't bother me in the long term at all. I've got used to it. I got used to it with Sam pretty quick. But I always feel a lil uneasy when your too close for comfort or too flirty with someone else where I can see it even if it is just for a joke.
It makes me more uncomfortable becuase then it's like wtf are you like behind my back? If you think it's ok to do that in front of me? Everytime I think about I start crying ngl tears and all. I like to think I'm special to you and get special treatment I have no idea tho.
Your a charming guy with little boundaries. I don't expect much loyalty...i don't need loyalty I just your affection and love . Sorry for mentioning this if you ever see this pls think over what I've said.
That type of stuff really hurts me. When you do it in front of my eyes the thought thya your doing worse behind my back, even if it isn't serious, even if it's just for a joke.
I'm a sensitive little shit in reality, and I actually cried over your Instagram post becuase my insecure selfish ass was getting uncomfortable abt the video of you and naci >~<
Idk it just diddnt sit right with me that you put it on your ig where I could see. Idk if your seeing what I mean. Put yourself in my shoes about it...
But yes sorry.
Bio ended at it was lunch. I tried sitting with the group and it drained me I needed dto be be somewhere else where I could sink into the world of my mind, and the way I do that is through tumblr. Making sense and note of the things in my head.
I sat by jake. We diddnt really talk there was no need neither us us wanted a conversation I just felt comfortable cuz I knew I wasn't comoleatly alone. Jake was there so I spent lunch manifesting you a happy birthday. Obsessing over you and getting jelous. Being pulled into short depressive random states
Thinking about you. Listening to a capella ariana grande until I felt selfish enough to crawl back into people territory, to get some attention. I wasn't quite on jakes level yet I still needed some degree of people. I pushed down all my negative emotions and watched you lie on the grass for a few minutes, before you went, left me and I cried, becuase my self worth had randomly dropped, and I was thinking about the whole thing I explained earlier. I put on a smile and no one noticed. It made me feel numb. But then I saw how much fun you were having and was happy for the rest of the day, had an emotional high during French cuz I knew you were happy and that's all that mattered.
It was end of the day and time to get on the bus. One of the busses had crashed into my grandads car, the embarrasment of the family (according to my mum) and everyone was talking abt it lol.
I talked to a year 9 who knew kally and ened up giving me a hot spot so I could text you. I heard you liked what I'd got you so I ended on a possitive note.
I did two hours studding with my mum and did an orp with you. I was a lil off then tho I'm so sorry. I'm selfish. So selfish. But I gotta tell you how I feel. I can't hold it in anymore. What I've explained here is the only thing I'll shit talk you for
But yes. I' You've had the birthday you deserve. The birthday you really deserve and it makes m e feel so happy that you've got that. You've finally seen how much you matter to people. How many friends you have. How many people like and love you and I'm so glad you've seen that. Seen the amazing person you are x
. Sorry for being a whiny bitch. In a way I almost hope you see this...
But yes for one last time happy birthday my love x

Quarentine blog day 86
Stamford bridge
The year 1066, in England fair,
The throne is empty, the crown lay bare,
Since Edward the Confessor did pass from this world,
Contenders did rise, their banners unfurled,
To claim the kingdom, this island fair,
Green woods and rivers and pastures there.
But who would claim this valued prize,
Which wells up tears in many an eyes?
Proud Harold did then declare his claim,
Duke William of Normandy then did the same,
But Harard Hardraada, from Norway did,
Bring forth an army to stake his bid.
On the western shores did the Vikings land,
Their ships lined up upon the sand.
Fair York did fall, the invaders struck,
The Saxons moved north, prayed for a change of luck.
At Stamford bridge, the two armies meet,
Both forces knew that they could not let,
The enemy deliver a decisive blow,
For it would spell doom, and death it would sow.
The Norsemen were still, within their camp,
When the Saxons they did, make ready an attack.
The bridge was open, and the men did charge,
A vast and valiant host was at large.
But blocking them, right then and there,
A lonely axe man, with a soul piercing stare.
On bridge and in water, were the Saxon dead,
Both weapons and river, were stained deep red.
When at last did the lone man did fall,
His companions were ready to give their all.
For many an hour did the weapons sing,
Spear sword and axe did strike and ring.
King Harard of Norway, was deep in the fray,
And it looked as if the Vikings would carry the day.
But then came disaster, the king did fall,
His warriors knew they lost it all.
Though Harard Godwinson did win this fight,
Another contender did set his sight,
Upon the crown, which he claimed as his right.
The Saxons now marched, to Hastings where
History will be made, in battle there.

1824 Thursday 18 November
8 25/60
1 55/60
Hurried over my breakfast meaning to go as soon as possible to Mademoiselle Victorine (n°number 1 Rue Harard, tout pais la rue de Richelien) to ask the lowest price for which she would make me such and such things – but Madame de Boyve sent for me and I sat by her bedside from 10 to 11 1/2, talking over her household economy etc. etc. advised her what to do –
of Mrs Barlow she said she was quite another person now and had been for the last three months when she told Mr de Nappe that Mrs Barlow had complained of his conduct he said why should she of all people she was much changed   I said I did not like him Madame de Boyve said he declared upon his honour he had seen Mr de Chateavillain or perhaps it Chateavillard come out of her room and he Mr de Chateavillard had slept with her all night   Madame de Boyve said she did not believe one word of it but if well educated people could so scandalize a gentle woman and believe it all well might Miss Page or others in low life scandalize Madame Chenelle   I said Mr de Nappe was a mad man but if what he said was true he was a poltreen to tell it and if not true he was the worst of calumniators his insinuation against Mrs Barlows conduct could not excuse his sso kissing the hand of Madame de Boyve whome conduct had always been proper this was proof he coulor might have so so conducted himself to Madame Barlow even if her conduct had given no licence   Madame de Boyve said she was ssorry Mr de Nappe had spoken if excuse for his conduct to Mrs Barlow before Eugene she Madame de Boyve must say Mrs Barlow was coquette au calme at first when she came the first time   she saw Mr de Cuilly a ta soiree here she took hold of his arm paced about the room and their looks were said to be comme des amants   people said they must be engaged and asked Madame de Boyve but she declared on her honour it was the first time they had met   above the line and more lately when he x had put his arm round her waist and she made a piece of fuss he said what was the matter with her that she was sso altered   regular line Mademoiselle iean was a spy in the drawing room and told Page everything   Mrs Barlow too had far too much communication with her servant   after many apologies for fear I should blame her for telling me she said she was amused to see her always walking with me now after all she said of me at first that she could not be seen with me etc   people would think she was with a man in womens clothes   Miss iane had told Page the tread mill business   Page mentioned it in the little salon and Madame Chenelle had asked Madame de Boyve what I could have been doing in England   a person so liked by everyone in the house so repectable distinguee etc etc   most high praises of my character magnanimity frankness etc   I merely said I neither wondered at nor blamed Mrs Barlow   it was all natural enough xxxxxx   Madame de Boyve made great profession how delighted she should be to be worthy my friendship etc etc   I thanked her – some lady came and interrupted us and I left the room and went immediately to Mrs Barlow and sat with her till very near one   I had called for a moment as I went not having said where I was going before she asked if Madame de Boyve had sent for me   she said why did you not tell me   I now represented everything momt favourably studiously concealing all the rest but happening to try her by saying when I asked what Mr de Nappe said to the complaint made that Mrs Barlow was much changed she caught at this saying she did not believe he had said or would say it   it was a much ancete of Madame de Boyve s   I quieted her by calmly saying it a was probable excuse for him to make whether iust or not and commonly urged on such occasions   it strikes me however there is always ssome iealousy of and curiosity about what Madame de Boyve says to me and Madame de Boyve is certainly iealous of Mrs Barlow   why does she tell me all these things for good or for evil   is she astonished the seem all disregarded   she said too that when Mrs le Marchant was here put under Mrs Barlows care Mrs Barlow was very different from when she was before –
Madame Galvani came at 12 55/60 and stayed till 2 6/60 – all the time spent in conversation – she happening to ask me to cut her pencil gave her the patex silver one that will not want cutting I bought in London thinking it would save me buying anything else   wrapt it in a sheet of paper on which I wrote – ‘à Madame Galvani de son amie A Lister Thurs Jeudi 18 Novembre 1824’. –
went to Mrs Barlow we went out together at 3 – called on Mademoiselle Victorine (vide line 1 of today). She herself was engaged – but learnt that a ball dress tube over satin would be (au plus juste) 228 francs of which the garniture would cost 100 francs the satin would be 12 francs per airne – a redingote (pelisse of silk not trimmed with fur) would be 190 francs and a morning gown of levautine was 160 francs – the one I have had made by Madame Bomatier of gros de naples cost not quite 105 francs – said I, je ne suis pas riche – c’est très chère – j’y penserai – Mrs Barlow and I then went Chez Baudy, rue du coq – to look at his edition of Lord Byron’s works 23 volumes 18 mo printed for himself 30 francs – then went to Galignani’s (rue Vivienne) his edition in 16 volumes 12 mo or small 8⁰⁰ on better paper and more Margin, 101 francs – asked him to abate (pour une diminution de dix pour cent) 10 per cent which he refused – and we came away and got home at 4 50/60 –
she talking whether to give me bracelets or a chain the former would cost eighty five franks   I foolishly told her I meant to give her lord byrons works she mentioned galignanis edition which I knew not of and I must give it –
Dinner at 5 40/60 – stayed down stairs – Mrs de Bellevue came about 9 – came upstairs at 9 55/60 – Mrs Barlow came at 10 40/60 and stayed with me 40 minutes – from 11 1/2 to 12 40/60 wrote the whole of this journal of today –
Very fine day – Fahrenheit 62° when I took it out of the xxxxx stass drawer and looked at it about 12 p.m. – Felt a cold coming on yesterday – it has been bad today –
Mrs Barlow and I flirted this forty minutes but did it gently I speaking a great deal of French let her leave me at once and behaved well –
Miss Pope returned this evening – Miss Middleton and I paid her a 6 or 8 minutes visit this evening about 8 – 1/2 hour eating grapes –
 left margin
I remember Mrs Mackenzie I think it was not her mother one day speaking of Mrs Barlow she did not quite know what to make of her she had always ssomething to say against everybody

Creep Review by NME
ALLISON HARARD
CREEP
7/10
Allison Harvard has delivered us an album that is many things. It's abstract. It's alluring. It's thrilling, and sometimes angering. But that seems to be the point of this collection of songs. This release almost doesn't feel like an album in some parts. It feels more like a compilation of some incredible studio tricks. But you know what? Allison pulls it off. And she pulls it off with gusto and more professionalism than most artists out there today. This album is risky in the sense that it isn't produced to feel all clean and nice and tidy. It sounds gritty and a little rough around the edges. But that's what makes it so identifiable and what makes it have more character than any album that's currently out. The opener "Thrill Me" acts as a teaser for what's what's ahead. This is a simple track with practically nothing more to it than a verse and some interesting music. And it opens up this album better than a loud and bombastic track could have. Here, Harvard shows her gutsy approach to the material, and that works in her favor on down the line. “Say My Name” is the first proper track on the album and it’s certainly different. Harvard’s vocal delivery is quite jarring. She takes on a low cooing set against the wicked music track. And while that works for a bit, by the end it’s a little exhaustive. Had there been a change up vocally, this song could have soared. It flies, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not the best song on the record. Up next we get “Bellyache” which is a stroke of genius. The lyrics to the song don’t particularly make any sense, but that adds an air of mystery to the song. Harvard gives us a lot in the track, but she doesn’t give too much. She knows how to show restraint, and it’s very endearing to see an artist this young manage that. Musically, this song isn’t anything new, but Harvard takes what is familiar and makes it out to be how she interpreted that particular style. This song is really a stroke of brilliance and she delivers it better than some of the vets. Up next is “Think Twice” which features an appearance by Ariana Grande. Now, the song itself is great. Harvard gives arguably her best vocals on the album here. The lyrics are solid, the production is watertight. But here’s the million dollar question: why Ariana Grande? Now, I love Ari, don’t get me wrong. But Ari is way too commercial to be on this record. Harvard would have been better off with someone who isn’t a mega star on the track. Ari does well on the song, but seeing such a big name on a project that is very anti-mainstream, it dampens the effectiveness of the song. A good song marred by a bad decision. But Harvard bounces back on “Honey”. In this song, we get a very airy sound which is something that more pop artists need to learn how to handle. This song is something that was a needed jolt back into Harvard’s world after her dip in the mainstream eh pond. And she more than earns her right to have her music work on her own plane of existence. This song is probably the biggest potential hit on the record, and Harvard will be best off if she uses this song as her secret weapon. Next we have the first major hiccup on the record. “Boys Like U” is one of those songs where you feel like it was just thrown in to pad the runtime. It really doesn’t do much in the overall context of the album and it feels like it’s just there to be there. Vocally, Harvard sounds like she doesn’t really care and that in itself pushed me away from this track. It’s not the worst song in the world, but it is far below the standard that Harvard set with the first section of the album. And then she bounces back a second time with “Mood”. This song is just nice to listen to. Orchestral inspired songs always score points from me and she made good use of them on this song. Harvard strikes me as a woman who totally has a grasp on what her music should and will be like and that is most evident on this track. It’s amazing what this woman can accomplish when she works for it (Boys Like U can’t relate by the way). Next up is a song that can be best described as a mixed bag. “Love Gun” (unrelated to the Kiss track btw) is a song that has good lyrics and good vocals that are totally rendered useless with the most generic beat out there. It’s a beat that exists in practically every radio pop track and Harvard is above that. Her vocals are spot on and her lyrics are great. Why did she have to use this music? Miss Harvard, please stay away from generic. It doesn’t suit you. You are better than that. Next is “What Do You Want”, a song that is built around repetition. Literally, over and over again we get the title. But it’s not too annoying. Harvard made use of all of the other elements that could mesh with repetitive lyrics. She made a good choice putting this song near the end, because it could push people away if it was at the start. Lyrics aside, there is endearing moments in the song, most of which is Harvard’s dedication. Next up is by the worst track on this album and it’s something that I was hoping Harvard could avoid.  “Housewife Spliffin’” (yes, seriously) is just pandering. It’s painfully obvious this song was supposed to be edgy, and it feels forced. Bad lyrics backed by an okay beat doesn’t do anything special. And I hope that Harvard never sinks to this level of trying to hard to be edgy and controversial again because it’s a color that looks terrible on her. Harvard leaves us with the weirdest song probably ever recorded. “Novocaine” feels like a trip on it’s namesake drug. It’s trippy and weird and wonderful all rolled into one. Harvard’s sins of the previous song are almost atoned for on this song. It’s just weird enough to be exciting (the same could be said for Harvard) and this song is just that. It’s creativity and it’s brilliant. She finished the album on a strong note and made me excited for what she’s bringing us in the future. All in all, this album has moments of highs and painful lows. She struggles to find herself through a good portion of the album, but when she does find what she’s looking for, it works. Some songs needed a little more time to grow, and that takes away from the whole album’s effectiveness. But this album is a good album and it’s something that really caught me off guard in a good way. Harvard reached her goals on this record and that’s something that is amazing to see. Had she dropped the weakest links, this album could be a decade spanning classic. It still could be. But for now, it’s a modern classic and an album that people will remember. And that’s something Harvard should be more than proud of.
