It’s time for the Potted Fanon History One True Heir, Robin V: DAMIAN WAYNE!
Damian, conception: Talia seduced Bruce and they were married under Special League of Assassins Law. Talia got pregnant and hid it from Bruce. She may have told him she had a miscarriage or she may just have not mentioned anything.
Damian, birth: might be natural, might be an artificial womb. Either way, immediately inducted into the Order of Assassins.
Damian, small child: Damian is raised in Nanda Parbat speaking Arabic. He may also be called Ibn al Xu’ffasch by ordinary assassins. Talia is highly involved in his training and he is learning to assassin.
Damian, small child: Talia either tells him stories of his noble father in Gotham City who he must earn his right to meet OR won’t tell him anything until he earns his right to find out.
Damian, small child: being a small assassin in training involves many terrible tests he must face, most of them with the word ‘Blood’ or ‘Shadow’ in the title and which involve people beating him up or him killing small animals. Damian refuses to kill the animals.
Damian, 6-7: encounters Jason while Jason is also with the League. They train together with knives. May call each other brother.
Damian, child: Damian is taught many things by his tutors and has a university level understanding of dozens of different topics. He’s just that smart. (If it’s convenient for the plot he knows it)
Damian, 9-10: finally he is told he has met enough tests to deserve to meet his father. Talia takes him to Gotham.
Damian, 9-10: anxious to price his worthiness to be Robin and his father’s heir, Damian immediately sets out to kill Tim to prove his superiority and right to be Robin. That’s how it works in the League of Assassins after all!
Damian, 9-10: Ra’s Al Ghul tries to kidnap Damian to take over his body. This fails and Damian is rescued by the Bats. (It is unclear where Damian has been living)
Damian, 9-10: Bruce dies. Dick is worried Damian will run back to the League as Bruce isn’t around so he makes Damian Robin. If we do Battle for the Cowl Damian rescues Tim and Tim is ungrateful about this.
Damian, 10: Dick and Damian are Batman and Robin. They save each other a lot. Damian comes to trust Dick and think of him like a father. They’re the greatest team ever.
Damian, 10: Tim comes back and Damian discovers Tim still does not trust him! This is unfair! He’s worked so hard with Dick to learn to be Robin! Damian immediately starts trying to kill Tim again (cuts his line).
Damian, 10: gets injured and his spine is replaced with METAL.
Damian, 10: Damian gets his own Batgirl, Stephanie. She is now acting as his babysitter every time they have to do anything public, but she acts fun about it.
Damian, 10: Bruce comes back. Initially Damian stays his his real father, Dick, but Bruce eventually takes back over as Batman. Damian resents this. Dick stays living at the Manor to smooth things over.
Damian, 10: Damian gets a pet cat Alfred and a pet Dog Titus and a pet cow Batcow and a pet turkey Jerry and he’s a vegetarian and he just loves animals so much. Nobody else (except Dick and Alfred) are allowed near his pets.
Damian, 10: Damian is now getting along with Jason, who is now an anti-hero, or he’s excited to be reunited with Jason who he recalls from the League of Assassins. Jason has never tried to kill Damian. Damian still gets into constant fights with Tim.
Damian, 10: Damian dies as Robin. It was heroic. Everyone mourns him deeply. Bruce immediately starts trying to resurrect him.
Damian, 10: Damian is resurrected. Dick cries a lot and they hug.
Damian, 10-12: Damian meets Jon Kent! They are immediate best friends called the Super Sons who hang out together all the time and get into trouble and go on adventures. This is far cooler than the Teen Titans.
Damian, 10-12: Damian has an adventure where he meets Goliath, a furry red dragon bat.
Damian, 12-13: even though Super Sons is cooler, Damian ALSO leads a Teen Titans team despite being the youngest by a very long way. How hard could it be? Dick and Tim have done it. Who is on this team? Big shrug, they’re not Jon.
Damian, currently: Damian is Robin and working in Gotham with Bruce as his Batman. He goes out with Dick to patrol quite often. His single only friend is Jon, who is also still a teen, unless someone has decided Colin Wilkes is around. He still considers that his life goal is to grow up to be Batman.

I think a lot about how much emotion plays into all art. Everything from video games to paintings to music. Now, to be good, a piece doesn't need to have any emotions. A fruit bowl painted well is still a good painting. Call of duty clone 18 is still fun. But it's emotions that make all the difference. A piece of art with that ability to convey any emotion, raw and primal makes all the difference. A painting's ability to convey joy. A song's ability to touch your soul with grief. A game's ability to fill you with despair at the plight of some pixels on a screen. A movie's ability to pluck at your very soul and ignite wrath. That's what makes art beautiful. That's what makes art Great.

REALLY want a story with the justice league where the villain has some power that uses their loneliness against them. superman gets fucked up because he’s the last kryptonian man, wonder woman gets hit with the fact that she’s a demigod while all the other themyscarians are normal-ish, GL is the loneliness of space, aquaman the loneliness of a king. It all comes down to batman, Mr. I work alone, Mr. We’re a team, not friends, so they all think the fight is over. then batman just ignores every single attack and beats the stuffing out the dude. everyone is rightfully confused, and he just hits them with “vengeance is never alone.” then vanishes. The whole team is speculating on what kind of cryptid he is, or what his deal is

Just remembered I had a plot so oops
Marinette wasn’t stupid. Nino had a brother only a few years older than Robin, and that brother had never acted so young or clingy at Robin’s age (and it surely wasn’t a thing about Robin, because she had yet to see him cling to anyone else). She knew that Robin was just using her to mess with Red Robin.
But she didn’t particularly mind. It was kind of funny to watch Red getting all worked up over his little brother and friend being close. She was glad she had her mask, because otherwise she definitely would have given away the act by this point.
Robin, for his part, had been upping things more and more every time he saw her. She wasn’t sure whether this was because he knew that she knew or because he was testing the limits of what he could do without her saying anything.
Red looked like he was at his wit’s end with Robin held out a hand for Marinette right before crossing a street. She took it, which was when he finally snapped:
“He’s twelve, not five!”
She pulled her face into a mock frown. “Are you saying that twelve-year-olds should get hit by cars, Red?”
Red Robin sputtered.
“Miss Ladybug, why is he so mean to me?” Robin asked with wide eyes. She could see the corner of his lips twitching in an effort not to smile.
She winked. His eyes narrowed just slightly then he widened them back to their wide-eyed sadness.
“I don’t know, sweetie. He’s just a meanie, I guess.”
Red Robin threw his hands up in either anger or defeat. It didn’t really matter which one it was, they counted it as a win.

Tim wasn’t surprised to walk into the Batcave one day and see Marinette’s face on the Batcomputer. The only thing he didn’t know was whether she was up there because they had figured out her identity or because Tim had started hanging out with her as a civilian.
He took a long sip of his coffee as he considered this, then he trudged over. Might as well find out.
“Hey guys,” he announced his presence.
He watched Duke out of the corner of his eyes. Duke was the newest of them, he could usually count on him to have more pronounced reactions.
Duke didn’t seem all that awkward. So it must have been them finding out her identity.
Tim sidled up beside them. “Sure that’s her?”
Bruce, never one for using his words when he didn’t have to, held up a small container of blood.
He hummed his understanding and intended for that to be the end of the conversation… but it was getting increasingly hard to ignore the eyes boreing into the side of his head. Tim fought to keep a straight face and unclench his jaw and ignore the stupid ‘d-d-don’t be suspicious’ song playing in his head.
And then Cass tapped him on the shoulder and he cursed quietly.
“Fine. Fine. I knew. Happy?”
Cass was not. She narrowed her eyes at him.
“I saw her run into an alleyway and I followed -- obviously, it’s Gotham and alleyways are dangerous -- and she transformed right in front of me.”
She nodded and let it go.
Bruce, however, did not.
“You knew her identity and didn’t think to tell us?”
“I thought to tell you, I just didn’t,” he said with a cheeky grin.
Ah. The Disappointed Dad Stare. He had certainly not missed that.
His grin melted into an awkward smile. “It felt weird to reveal her. She clearly cares about her identity since she hasn’t told us herself yet, I figured I’d respect that as long as I could.”
“... you weren’t making progress on her identity on purpose. God, that makes so much more sense,” muttered Steph.
He shrugged. “Easy to avoid someone’s identity when you know who it is.”
Bruce was still looking at him disapprovingly.
“Don’t worry, I have contingencies,” Tim said.
His father relaxed, finally. He motioned for him to go on.
“Well, a few need confirmation. I still don’t know if her yoyo can be cut and it’s hard to tell if other people can unzip her hood or not. But if the hood is open then The Flash or Superman can easily get the earrings from her -- beyond those she’d just a normal person with some fighting skills, same contingencies as The Arrows or any of us. If not then Green Lantern can probably neutralize her.”
Bruce nodded.
The other kids looked mildly concerned.
“Wait, he has contingencies for us?” Duke said.
Bruce was back to looking dismayed. Tim showed them all where their files were (he wouldn’t hack them for them, obviously, he didn’t want to break the news of exactly how messed up Bruce’s contingencies were). He could practically see all the sweat beading itself on his forehead beneath his cowl.
(Tim hid his smile. He’d finally gotten revenge for the time he’d made him stay inside after The Chloroform Incident. And revenge was sweet.)
… it wasn’t until he started seeing his siblings on the rooftop across from Marinette’s apartment that he thought that, maybe, he should have gotten them into their files. It definitely would have distracted them from the Marinette Is Ladybug situation.
At least Cass trusted Marinette -- she would have slipped up and showed her intentions at least once by now -- and therefore wasn’t likely to come by. Cass would be the one to figure out that Tim coming up to the roof was more than him just checking on his siblings.
The first person that came by was Damian. Fair enough, he’d been around Marinette the shortest amount of time and what little friendship they had was based on his lies.
Now, the youngest sibling sat, cross-legged on the rooftop. He was sketching in his sketchbook between quick glances over at Marinette. He looked up when Tim pulled himself over the side and squinted at him.
“Drake.”
“Dami,” Tim greeted, because it always annoyed his younger brother when he used the nickname. “Having fun spying on Marinette?”
Damian was silent for a few moments before clicking his tongue. “She needs to close her blinds more often.”
“Aw, do you care about her?” Tim teased, reaching over to ruffle his brother’s hair.
He pushed his hand away. “She’s a Gothamite and is therefore under our protection.”
Tim snickered and shook his head, taking a seat beside him on the rooftop. “We can tell Duke about it once everyone else has had their chance at checking her out. He’s the only one that can get away with asking her to close it.”
Damian nodded firmly.
Tim hid the fond smile on his face by diverting his brother’s attention: “So, what’re you sketching?”
Damian’s eyes lit up.
The next person to drop by was Bruce himself. He was sitting there, in all black despite the fact that it was less useful during the day, with full spy equipment.
Tim dropped down beside him and was offered a set of headphones. The two of them stayed there in silence for a long time, listening to Marinette going about her day. She was currently cooking something and singing along to a song:
“I always feel like... somebOdy’s watching meeEe… andIhavenoprivacy~.”
Tim was choosing to ignore the song choice in favor of giggling about her inability to hit the notes. He could feel Bruce watching him out of the corner of his eyes, but he didn’t say anything and neither did Tim.
Next was Steph.
Steph raised her eyebrows at Tim when she saw him.
“Come here often?” She asked in a tone that was only half-joking.
“Only recently,” he lied. “Trying to figure out if any of you trust my judgement.”
“Doubtful.”
“Yeah, Duke is my last hope.”
She snickered and shook her head. “To be fair, you’re whipped. You could have been biased.”
“But I’m not.”
“But you’re not,” she conceded, then turned her gaze back on Marinette. “She’s cute. I approve.”
“Glad to know you trust her.”
“I wasn’t talking about it like that and you know it,” Steph said with a wink.
Tim blushed and pushed her face away. “You’re the worst.”

Marinette was having a little difficulty figuring out the not-quite-a-language that the bats spoke with her. She wanted to learn it because she cared about Black Bat and, though she could use ASL, it was clear that she wasn’t comfortable with any particular language… but wow was it hard to learn a language when there wasn’t any actual language involved.
Thankfully, Signal had said he would teach her since he had learned it the most recently and therefore might have an easier time teaching it.
Now, it was just after they had finished their lessons for the day and the two of them were relaxing together between their patrols. He had his head in her lap as they both scrolled through Twitter, occasionally laughing and showing each other the dumb things that the other bats had supposedly done. Her favorite so far was the picture someone had discreetly taken of Robin while he was petting their dog.
And then Signal suddenly sat up straight, eyes so wide beneath his domino that she swore that the lenses were going to pop out.
“Uh --?”
“We need to go,” he said.
She felt his hand wrap around her wrist and now she was being dragged somewhere else --.
There was a rush of air and next thing she knew she was being held just barely off the ground.
She blinked all the dryness out of her eyes and then looked up to see that her captor was none other than Superman himself. He had grabbed both of them and taken them to where the Batcomputer was, holding her by her hood and Signal by the back of his shirt. He looked angry, but not particularly at her. She followed his gaze to where Batman was sitting in his Batchair.
“B --.”
“Batman,” said Batman sternly.
Oh, so Superman got to know his secret identity and she didn’t?
(She was ignoring the fact that Batman’s civilian name started with a B.)
“Batman, what do I have here?”
“Two children?”
“Two. Metas.”
“Technically, Ladybug isn’t a meta. Her powers were given to her by a god that lives in her earrings,” Batman informed him.
Marinette tried not to smile too much. Look at how much he had grown. He was using her excuses now.
Superman’s eyes narrowed. She’d say something about how ‘if looks could kill, Batman would be dead’... but, considering the fact that Superman could kill someone with a single look, it didn’t really work.
“And is the god allowed in Gotham?”
Batman didn’t have an excuse for that one. He just grunted a specific grunt which Marinette had learned meant: “What’s your point?”
Superman also knew this specific grunt, apparently. “My point is that the last time I was in Gotham you put kryptonite in my coffee! You said no metas, and we listened, but now you have two!”
“They’re my kids.”
Marinette blinked. “News to me.”
Signal tried to reach across Superman to punch her arm. Superman was a very wide not-man, so he came up short.
“Do you want to be kicked out of Gotham?”
“Guess I’ve always wanted family here,” she said quickly.
Superman squinted at them for a long time before, finally, dropping them.
“You’re lifting your no meta rule.”
“No --.”
“Yes. If even you’re not going to listen to it, neither should we.”
Batman didn’t seem happy. Superman didn’t seem to care. Probably because he was a good head taller and had far more superpowers than Batman did.
Superman left soon after.
Marinette knew it wasn’t the time, because Batman was back to his Batbrooding, but she couldn’t help the grin slowly spreading across her face.
“So, Dad, can I have the new Xbox for Christmas?”
~
Duke had visited Marinette. Tim hadn’t seen him visit, but he definitely had because Marinette had closed her blinds and they hadn’t been open in days. She was still in Gotham, though, she had gone on patrols and, as far as he could tell, she didn’t have any places in Gotham in her name. She had to still be in the apartment, so Duke must have visited as Signal and told her to close them.
And he should have been happy about this. It was far safer that way. The less people knew that there was a woman living alone in that apartment the better.
… but he couldn’t help but be concerned.
The blinds being closed was his best indication of when she was about to leave or currently not home. He didn’t like that he no longer had a way of figuring that out. How was he supposed to watch over her while she was getting groceries if he never knew when she was going?
He gives her a necklace with a tracker in it the next time he sees her as Tim.
She raised her eyebrows at the box he was holding out to her. “Don’t you think it’s a little early to propose?” She joked, but he could hear the slight wariness bleeding into her tone.
He grins easily. “It’s just to thank you for the outfit you’re making me.”
“You pay me,” she said. “That’s thanks enough for me.”
“Maybe I just feel a little bad about guilting you into making it in the first place.”
She hesitates, but he could see the shiny red gem inlaid in it winning her over. It doesn’t matter that she wasn’t a gold digger, she was a fashion designer and he had purposefully chosen a common gem color so she’d be more inclined to wear it more often. It worked with a lot of outfits and it came from someone she -- hopefully -- considered a friend? There was little reason to say no.
As expected, she gave in.
She turned around and he carefully clasped it behind her neck. He pressed a tiny kiss to the back of her head.
When she turned back around her face was redder than the gem. He couldn’t help but smile.
“Ready to go?”
She nodded, taking his hand and allowing him to pull her along to the newest attraction.
~
Marinette fell back on her bed with a huff.
“Tikkiiiiiiiii,” she complained.
The kwami slipped out of her purse and came up to float above her face. “Did you enjoy your date?”
“It wasn’t --!”
Tikki laughed at her dismay. Because Tikki sucked.
She dropped the pillow back beside herself and curled up in what had used to be Tim’s jacket (she wasn’t joking when she’d taken it, he was never getting it back).
“Tim better be Red Robin. I’m not doing the whole ‘two crushes at once’ thing again.”
~
You know, there were actually times where Tim felt bad about chipping Marinette. He wasn’t out of it enough to think that it wasn’t messed up, he knew that there was a reason he didn’t want the other bats to know.
And he knew that, if he had to keep his habits from fellow bats, his habits had to be pretty bad. Every single one of them had a tendency to watch over their loved ones from time to time, it just came with the territory of having friends that are a) vigilantes/heroes/Rogues, b) stupid enough to live in Gotham, or c) an unfortunate mix of both. And, really, when you have the entire world at your fingertips it’s hard not to cross a few lines from time to time.
But Tim couldn’t bring himself to care about that line when she didn’t seem to care about her own safety.
She left the house constantly. Tim was beginning to suspect that she’d had her blinds open so often in order to feel closer to people rather than because she liked sunning herself. This would be fine… if she wasn’t leaving as a civilian. Marinette cared about her secret identity almost as much as Bruce did, so he knew that she probably wouldn’t try too hard to escape attackers for fear of them finding out who she was through her very particular fighting style. The bats had drilled her on the best ways to deal with being held at gunpoint and everything, but not every criminal was completely predictable. Bruce’s parents were a prime example of that.
She also had a tendency to take food without checking to see if it was laced. She did it especially when Tim handed her food and, while he liked that she trusted him, he didn’t love that she was as trusting of him as she was.
Marinette had trouble detecting when people were watching her, too. He figured it was just a byproduct of having most of the stuff she did as Ladybug filmed by tv crews and random civilians… but understanding why she was like that didn’t make him any less concerned about it.
Most damning, however, was how she dealt with catcalling.
Tim never felt a need to intervene when any of his siblings got catcalled on the job. He could trust them to tell whoever it was to stop with however much politeness was correct for the situation (usually not that much).
(The only exception was Damian because, unlike everyone else, Damian was still very obviously a minor. And even then the temptation to beat them up was mostly sated by the fact that Damian knew far more nonlethal ways to hurt them than he did.)
But the few times Marinette had gotten catcalled in front of him she… had just very politely asked them not to say that? And, when they didn’t stop, she had just sat there in her discomfort until they were done?
And Tim had done nothing but watch in stunned silence the first few times. It hadn’t been on purpose, he had just… not been expecting it. She usually acted far more confident, usually had some sort of retort on her tongue, why was this any different?
He didn’t know. Both he and Steph had tried to ask but she shut down both times and they didn’t want her to be more upset than she already was so they’d stopped trying.
The bats just silently agreed to check in on her through comms when she was quiet for too long and, if she didn’t respond, head towards her last known location and start looking.
So, yeah, his paranoia wasn’t completely unfounded.
~
Marinette blinked at the envelope Black Bat had handed her.
She turned it over in her hands, wondering if it was some kind of test, but that wasn’t really as much of a Black Bat thing as it was a Batman or Red Robin thing. So, she figured it probably wasn’t dangerous. She still found herself examining it. It was done in an old style, with a rough and slightly yellowed paper, a red wax seal with a pointy hat emblem she didn’t recognize, and ‘Ladybug’ written across the front in gorgeous calligraphy.
“Uh…?”
Black Bat only smiled at her and made a motion to open it.
Marinette hesitantly opened the letter and pulled out more weird paper. It was splattered with something that looked suspiciously like dried blood. In the same elegant script that had decorated the front, it read:
Your spirit has been summoned to my annual Halloween Party!
Dress to kill!
This was followed by a bunch of directions and timings and stuff about RSVP-ing.
Marinette looked at Black Bat, somehow even more confused than she had been before.
Thankfully, Red Robin chose that moment to run down the stairs, waving his invitation excitedly.
He stopped short when he saw Marinette already holding her invitation and huffed, sending Black Bat a halfhearted glare. “I wanted to tell her.”
Black Bat’s smile morphed into a smirk.
“Rude,” Red said. Then, he turned to Marinette. “We got invited to his Halloween Party!”
“Yeah… whose Halloween Party, exactly?”
“Scarecrow’s, of course!”
… what?

Damirae Week 2021 - Day 7 (part 1)
“Finding Our Happily Ever After: Part 1” Day 7: Soulmates
All Raven could recall was standing before Damian about to confess she wanted to stay with him and his family, if he allowed her. The moments that followed after were in a blur, she had felt a pull from the skies and before long she was rising in the dark grey skies at a rapid speed. Raven looked down to see she was being pulled away from her friends and Damian. Scared, the young maiden called out for him, she heard him call back and bark an order towards her captor. Raven could also faintly remember seeing Sombra, trying to attack her captor but was wounded. The next thing she remembers was trying to punch and free herself from her captor, but she was then struck on her head rather hard making her lose conscious throughout the flight.
Overtime Raven would briefly wake up catching glimpses of the surrounding lands, as they approach a mountain.
When her senses came back and she fully awoke, Raven found herself to be inside a dark cave. It was too dark for any mere mortal to be able to look through but the part of her that held demon blood allowed her to see in the darkness. Raven slowly turned her head, skimming the area, as she tried to stand, she notices a tug come from her wrists and ankles. Looking down on herself, Raven had been tied onto a wooden chair, her wrists and ankles were tied rather very tightly, she notice red bruised marks stain her wrists . Raven tried to wiggle from her chair, when from the darkest part of the room, she heard the grunts of an older man.
The cave was lit with floating wax candles holding a green flame on them, making the room glow in green. Raven managed to see two figures standing close together from the direction she had heard the man come from. One was tall and well built, a man with his face hidden behind a black and orange mask. Next to him was an old woman, though she had a devil look in her eyes as if she shouldn’t be easily trifled with. This woman was dress in grey rags, almost appearing to be her dress, her long grey-hair was in locks pointing in different directions. She wasn’t pleasant to the eyes and might as well frighten any child.
Raven exhaled carefully, “Who are you and what do you want with me?”
The man laughed lightly, he took a step toward Raven, “my… you really cut to the chase, my dear.” He then bowed towards her, “I am Slade Wilson, and I have a proposition for you.”
Before Raven had a chance to inquire, the old woman next to him, place her weary old boney hand on Slade’s arm, “my lord, I must advice not to deal with the likes of her. Contracts with them come at a price, perhaps-”
“Quite hag,” Slade hissed through clenched teeth, then glanced at Raven who had her brows lifted, he gave her a gentle laugh, “apologies my dear. Like I was saying I have a proposition, if you choose to accept it, and I will free you from those binds.”
Not allowing herself to falter, Raven held her head high and spoke with a stern voice. “Listen, I don’t have anything to my name, if you know who I am, I’ve been exiled from my father’s lands. I hold no value-”
“Oh, but you do my dear, you absolutely do and that is why you should be wise to choose this offer of mine.” Slade clapped his hands together, looking over to the older woman, who mumbled some incoherent words and a large wooden chair appeared right in front of Raven, Slade then sat down, she could feel he was studying her through his mask.
“Which is?” she then asked him.
The masked man, sighed heavily, “you have been staying with a certain and very peculiar family,” She could feel her heart picked up speed as she listened, her chest rised with disdain, and her face was starting to flush with anger as Slade continued, “the youngest child of said family… well he was given a birthright he did not deserve, well to make it short I want to employ you to help me bring him to ruin-”
Enrage, Raven glared and spoke the truth in her heart, “You are wasting your time with me; I will never turn against Damian or his family! They have given me more than my own father ever could… besides Gotham has been with the Wayne’s for generations, its Damian throne to take-”
“Shut her up.” Slade commanded with a hiss, the old woman who stood behind him muttered some words in another language Raven didn’t understand and her lips were sealed, Slade then rose from his chair and walked around her.
“Apologies but I hate interruptions. Yes, the little brat is the heir to rule over Gotham, but he was also given another birthright one he very carelessly gave away to his cousin. The kingdom of Nanda Parbat, a land inhabited by the world’s most elites of assassins, it’s former ruler was Ra’s al Ghul, had chosen his grandson, the one you know as Damian Wayne to take over his kingdom!” Frustrated, Slade then kicked the large wooden chair, across the room with a powerful kick.
The noise frightened the harpy as it screeched and flapped it wings from a corner, hoping around the room. The old woman hissed at it to quiet down, with a flick of her fingers tips the chair was rebuild and place across from Raven. Slade grabbed it and sat down, he clasped his hands on his lap and studied her, noticing Raven had her brows knitted together.
“You must wonder why I hate him so much, correct? Well I was the ‘Demon Head’s’ right man, he almost treated like a son… he once told me I was going to marry his daughter Talia, but what does he do instead? Create a ridiculous alliance with the kingdom of Gotham, King Bruce takes Talia in marriage and she gives birth to the little brat. That boy has stolen what was rightfully mine and gave it away like nothing.”
Slade then stood up, remove his mask to reveal a dark skinned man, with short white hair and a left eye covered by a piece of black leather, placed his hands on either side of Raven’s chair leaning ever so closely to her face, “I needed to have my revenge. That boy took everything away from me, so I took away everything he came to love. I had a cursed place on him, his family, and soon everyone came to forget that the kingdom of Gotham ever existed. Its people became like wind, it was like they never existed. I found pleasure knowing he would never get to experience true happiness… that is until…you came along.”
Raven’s chest was heaving as she strained to breath steadily, she could feel her blood start to boil and her head throb with rage. “You somehow manage to worm yourself into the castle and lighten the darkness I so perfectly designed for them. I had to come up with something else, something that would really bring that boy to his knees, and that is making you my bride.”
Slade started to caress her cheek with his hand, she turned and tried to lean away from his vile touch. Her mouth was beginning to fill with saliva and just for a split-second Raven felt strange. She had a feeling like she could overpower whatever had been placed onto her lips, she locked gaze with Slade’s, glared at him from underneath her lashes and then spit at him.
The older man groined and wipes his face with the back of his palm, the old woman gave out a horrible angry cry as she screamed, “you filthy wench! How dare you break my enchantment?!” Raven’s chair was lifted and flung towards the ceiling of the cave, Raven cried at the impact as she was dragged to the floor and up again. Then she was floating just above the old woman, with a flick of her old wrist, Raven was thrown across the cave, causing the chair she was tied on, to break at the impact.
“Stop it!” Slade yelled as he lifted his servant by the throat, then releasing her harshly. He turned and pointed his finger towards Raven. “You! Do you think you could ever live happily alongside a beast like him? Don’t you want to live a normal-human life with someone like me? I can give you that and so much more.”
“No… you can’t.” Raven strained to speak as her whole body was aching, she lifted herself off the ground with great difficultly, “Damian may be trapped in a beast’s body but even he has shown more compassion and kindness from any demon I have ever met! He is no beast, you are!”
“Enough! I employed this witch long time ago to curse him, now for being a thorn on my side you will perish!”
The old woman cackled and her fingertips sparked with green magic, “oh, what great pleasure you give me my lord to slay a sorceress of Azarath.” Azarath?
“Don’t you dare, hurt her!”
That voice! Raven turned around to what was hopefully the cave’s only exit and to see him magnificently riding on Titus, like a white knight riding on his noble steed. Damian hopped off from Titus, as they both snarled and growled at Raven’s captors.
“Damian!” Raven cried happily.
Slade laughed, “Well now, isn’t this a sight! The beast man with his beast dog!” He then unsheathes a sword he had on his hip and pointed it towards Damian, “You want the girl, you will have to go through me!”
“You will pay for what you did to her and to my family!” Damian yelled. He leaped towards Slade, swinging his claws to land a hit.
The harpy who had been standing nearby flew up and dive to attack Damian but was interrupted as Titus manage to bite one of its winged arms. The harpy cried out and kicked Titus on his muzzle, then tried biting him in return. When she missed used her clawed feet to puncture his shoulder. Titus effortlessly evade each attack, then lodged its fangs onto one of the harpy’s foot and swung it in his mouth like a doll. He then let go, causing the harpy to be thrown across the cave, it shrieks and cried painfully flying away, abandoning it mistress.
Titus barked proudly and ran towards Raven as they watched Damian continue to battle Slade. “You cause me my pet!” Raven turned around and notice the witch was flying towards her, Raven through herself away from the attack and Titus tried to swing his paw at her. The witch shot a bolt of her green magic and Titus whimper as he was struck. Angry, Raven stood and ran towards the witch as she managed to tackle her to the ground. They rolled on top of each other, Raven had the upper hand given to her youth and her own will to survive this terrible ordeal. But the witch had magic and she started chanting some words making Raven float away from her and then launching her like she had done before with the chair. Raven rolled a few feet away, she glanced up as the witch floated slowly towards her.
“Your mother turned me into this! She took away my beauty because I used it to lure men to their dooms, now it is time for me to have my revenge!” She raised her hands up, green sparks going off as she chanted a spell. Raven lifted her hands to shield herself, when she heard a whoosh sliced through the air. Slowly Raven, opened her eyes and widen them when she saw that the witch had been impacted by Slade’s sword. It had entered through her back and the tip managed to pierce through the front of her chest. She slowly floated down to the ground, standing still. The witch then slowly turned around still with the sword embedded through her as she glanced towards Slade. “My lord? Why…?”
“Our deal is off; you are no longer any use for me.”
Damian quietly moved around Slade as he approached Raven, he used his body to shield her from their enemies. He slowly pushed her towards the path he and Titus had come from. The witch continues to walk towards Slade, then pointed her long pointy finger. “You traitor,you dare double-cross a witch, all of you will never see the light of day, I cursed thee all to be buried in this cave!” Her whole body illuminated and burst into green and black ashes, the cauldron started to boil and erupted around the entire room. Which cause the cave to rumble and some stalactites fell all around them.
“Let’s go!” Damian yelled as he grabbed Raven’s hand and together ran along the path to exit the cave. Titus ran up ahead, managing to evade pillars of rocks tumbling down, at some point Damian lifted Raven in his arms and carried her off most of the path. As they near the exit, some rocks came lose, falling right at the foot of the entrance to the cave. Damian stopped, placed Raven down and then jumped on top the nearest boulder, he turned and reached for her hands to help her climb. Titus effortlessly jumped and stood near an opening big enough for them to pass through. When Raven reached the top, she reached out her hand to grab Damian’s paw, for a second her looked at her and couldn’t help but smile towards her.
Then out of nowhere Damian screamed out a roar of pain, one hand clawing the air around him. Raven glanced to Damian’s side and saw Slade had reached them and had use a dagger to pierce Damian. The young curse prince had lost his footing and grip, causing Raven to hold onto him as tightly as she could and not let him fall. Slade used this opportunity to stab Damian again, but he too lost his footing and pulled Damian down with him.
“Damian!” Raven cried as she watches him tumbled down and roll a few feet away from where they had started to climb. She and Titus hopped down the to the floor and running to Damian’s side. She knelt down and gently picked up his head in her hands, trying to shield him from the small debris. Titus stood next to them, using his own large body as a shield for his master and the young girl. The only entrance they had was covered by more rocks, trapping them inside the cave.
“You lost, you lost it all!” Slade exclaimed happily as he tried to stand up straight, with shaky legs started walking towards them. “I was never going to let you live a happy life! You deserved this; oh, you so deserve this!” Slade chanted madly, all reason was gone, now before them was an old man filled with utter madness. Above them a large cracking sound was heard, gazing right above him a large stalactite broke from the roof and landed right where Slade had stood.
The cave continued to crumble around them. Damian was heavily panting, trying to minimize how much in pain he was in. “Save yourselves,” he whispered through painful breaths.
“I am not leaving you.” Raven answered him as she cradle his face. There has to be a way. Raven thought. She turned and turned her head all around her hoping to see something that could save them. But there was nothing, all was truly lost as Slade had said, was this truly what they were fated for from the start? Was the grand design of the universe this cold-hearted towards them in wanting to have a happy life? Wanting to hold on to what had brought her happiness for a short moment of her life, Raven felt that feeling again when she had broken the witch’s enchantment on her lips. It felt peaceful and warmth almost, just like when she had been visited by that strange woman cloaked in white. Without even knowing it herself Raven whispered;
“Azarath… Metrion… Zinthos.”
A dark purple circle suddenly appeared on the ground around them. As more cracks were heard from the cave’s ceiling, she saw some stalactites break, coming down rapidly targeting them. The circle then emitted dark looking shadows that looked like black tentacles wrapping around Raven and her friends. She closed her eyes waiting for their death but then opened them and looked at Damian. If she were to die, she wanted to see him one last time. Then they were  all engulfed by  shadows.

Mismatch- Part 6
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month 2020
Sibling bonding at its finest, fighting and breaking rules
First< Previous> Next
----
“Maman, Papa, we’re fine,” Marinette holds the phone between them.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come home?” Tom asks through speaker phone.
“No Papa, Nette worked hard for this trip,” Marion insists, they are sitting in the back of Bruce's car with him and Selina in the front.
“We both work-”
“Both want to stay, that's right,” Marion cuts her off, grinning at her glare, “Besides we have things to do here remember ?”
“Ok, but if you change your minds,” Sabine frets, they do have a concert coming up.
“We’ll be on the first flight back,” Marinette agrees, Aunt Selina leans back and she holds up the phone for her.
“Don’t worry Tom, I’ll keep them out of trouble,” She tells her brother.
“You’re the last person I trust to do that,” Tom laughs from the other end of the line.
“Rude,” She glares down at the phone.
“I’m sure you’ll do just fine,” Sabine speaks over her husbands laughter.
“Thank you Sabine, you're my favourite person in Paris,” She winks at the twins, whispering "Right now,"
"Hey!" Tom shouts from the phone.
“Of course,” Sabine chuckles over her husband,“We have to go back to the bakery now,”
“We’ll talk later,” Tom promises, "Have fun,"
“See ya,” Selina sits back upright.
“Bye Papa, Maman,” Marinette moves to hang up
“Also we met Aunt Selina's fiance! Bye!" Marion blurts, everyone in the car freezes.
“WHA-” Marion hangs up.
“Marion! That was…..” Their Aunt shouts before giggling, turning into full blown laughter,“... That was so…”
The twins start laughing as well, making her give up on whatever lecture she was going to launch into.
“Selina, your phones ringing,” Bruce says, as she calms down.
“Yeah, it’s probably going to do that for awhile,” Selina turns it to silent and ignores the call, then turns to Marion,“Don’t ever do that again,”
“Are you planning on getting remarried?” Marion asks cheekily.
“Quite the thing to admit in front of your fiance,” Marinette adds, glancing at Bruce to see he is also smiling slightly. Years with Kagami had trained her to notice those hints of emotion.
“Brats,” She huffs turning back around.
“We love you,” They chorus.
“Brats,” Selina shakes her head fondly just as they approach the gates.
Marinette stares in awe at the large estate. The architecture and gardens immediately had her pulling out her sketch book to jot down ideas. She gets pushed out of the car by Marion and keeps drawing as they walk towards the Manor doors.
"You're home is beautiful," Marinette compliments Bruce.
"Thank you, I think so too," Bruce says as the doors open.
“Welcome home, Master Bruce, Miss Selina,” Alfred stands in the doorway, “And you, Miss Dupain-Cheng and Mr Cheng-Dupain, welcome to Wayne Manor.”
“It’s good to see you again, please, just Marinette's fine,” Marinette puts away her sketchbook.
“Yeah, I'd rather you just call me Marion,” Marion beams at him, before whispering, “Did we even tell you our last names?… witchcraft,”
“Very well, please come this way,” Alfred guides them into the Manor, stopping outside a door, "Master Damian is waiting, I must be off to prepare dinner,"
"Thank you Alfred," Bruce tells the butler as he leaves.
They enter the living room type area. A boy who couldn't even be thirteen yet stands. 'He's so small' Marinette thinks to herself.
"Father," He glares at her and Marion.
“This is my son Damian,” Bruce introduces, “Damian met Marinette and Marion,”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Marinette smiles, holding her hand out.
“Tt” Damian looks away, getting a glare from Bruce before taking her hand, “... Likewise,”
Selinas phone buzzes again. Drawing attention away from the insincere tone.
“I should probably answer them, or they’ll never leave us alone,” Their Aunt sighs taking out her phone, “Bruce come with me, I’m sure they’ll want to meet you,”
“Is this going to be a pleasant conversation?” He asks.
“No its going to be very painful,” Marinette smiles, knowing they were about to have a very long conversation with her over excited Papa. He would probably have planned their wedding by the time they manage to hang up.
“Right,” Bruce says hesitantly, he turns to Damian with a pointed look, “Behave,”
"Tt," is Damian's response as he is left alone with them.
Marion sits down. Marinette follows sitting next to him on one of couches, surprised at how soft it is. Damian sits down on an armchair, picking up a book.
“So, Damian how old are you?" Marinette asks, after a full minute of silence
“12,” He doesn't look up from his book
“... We’re 18, twins if you couldn't tell,” Marion steps in gesturing between them.
“I could,” Damian answers shortly.
“Right... so what are your hobbies?” Marinette tries again.
“... painting,” Damian concedes under her expectant gaze.
“Oh, can we see?” She asks excitedly.
“No,” Damian snaps. She doesn't let that discourage her, she doesn't like showing strangers her designs. Apart from the millions of strangers who see her designs anyway.
“Alright, I get that," Marion shares the sentiment, "What about-Oh my god,”
“What?” Damian finally looks up from his book, scanning the room for the cause of his outburst.
“Kitty!” Marion practically leaps from the couch to get a better look at the cat sauntering across the room.
“Oh no,” Marinette sighs watching her brother melt over the cat.
“That’s Alfred,” Damian tells them eyeing the cat and Marion with mild amusement.
“After Alfred, Alfred your butler?” Marinette tries not to snicker at the name.
“Yes, pennyworth is his namesake,” Damian nods, glare daring Marinette to laugh.
“Can I pet him?!” Marion pleads, with baby-doll eyes  that could put Manon to shame.
“You can try, Alfred is very selective about who pets him,” Damian grants, and Marion sits on the ground, inching closer.
“I wouldn’t worry, Mari has a way with cats,” Marinette smirks, thinking back to the time she had to fight an Akuma alone because he was being smothered by cats.
“Come here Alfred,” Marion rubs his hand on the ground, Alfred watching closely.
“Do you have any other pets?” Marinette asks, Damian puts down his book.
“I have Titus, a great dane,” Damian watches as Alfred gives in and pounces on Marion’s hand, “Batcow, self explanatory,”
“Bat-cow mutant?” Marion guesses letting Alfred sniff his hand.
“No,” Damian's irritation shows, “She has patch shaped like the Bat symbol,”
“Oh, that was my second guess,” Alfred lets Marion scratch behind his ear.
“Can we see them?” Marinette excited over meeting Batcow.
“They’ll be around here somewhere, roaming the manor grounds,” Damian responds, non committaly.
“Alfred the Cat, feels weird to call them both Alfred,” Marion muses, Damian looks surprised as the cat climbs into this lap.
“Have you any pets?” Damian asks his first question about them.
“No, we live in a bakery so it would be a health code violation,” Marinette answers sadly. She doubts a box of animal type Kwamis are regulation either but no one has to know about that.
“Al-at? no,” Marion talks to himself, or more likely the cat.
“That’s a shame,” Damian acknowledges monotonously, watching as Alfred the cat starts to purr as Marion scratches his chin.
“We did try to sneak strays in when we were little,” Marinette is unwilling to let the conversation drop.
“Ca-Fred, Cat-Fred!” Marion exclaims, apologising seconds later to the newly dubbed Cat-fred for startling him.
“Try?” Damian sneers.
“The first few times were a disaster, we didn’t get past the front door,” Marinette explains, “Maman and Papa would send them to the shelter straight away,”
“At least they didn’t put them back out on the street,” Damian muses.
“They would never,” Marion responds, in baby talk directed at Cat-fred.
"You don't have to use that ridiculous voice," Damian scolds.
"I know," Marion answers, in the same voice, Damian glowers.
“As we got older we started being able to actually get them inside before being found out,” Marinette distracts him from Marion's taunting.
“One of us would be the distraction and the other snuck in, with a sleeping cat or dog, that one we learnt the hard way,” Marion uses a normal voice, still showering Cat-fred with attention.
“I think that is how I got my reputation for being clumsy,” Marinette sighs, it was always left up to her to distract their parents by knocking something over while Marion snuck in.
“What can I say? Cats love me,” Marion proves his point as Alfred turns over, letting him see his belly.
“I can see that,” Damian seems amused as much as he is surprised.
“At first, they’d find them in a few hours, so we learnt by trial and error,” Marinette continues, relaxing into the couch. "We must have taken in at least a hundred strays,"
“I think the last one we had managed a few months before we go found out,” Marion guesses, they hadn't tried again since the received their miraculous.
For one because they couldn't afford their parents searching their room regularly and coming across the Kwamis. However being the heroes of Paris had also proven effective in getting people to adopt. Usually the first person they asked would immediately agree, if they were suited up.
“So how many more pets have you managed to smuggle in?” Marion stage whispers to Damian, the gap between them being too big to actually whisper, “In a place this big should be easy,”
“I’ve tried… Pennyworth has caught me each time,” Damian admits, looking down at the almost asleep Cat-fred.
“That man is a witch,” Marion declares with certainty.
“What?” Damian seems taken aback.
“He appears out of nowhere and knows too much,” Marion provides what Marinette is sure he considers evidence.
“Hn, that is true,” Damain starts to share his multiple accounts of such behaviour.
The three fall into easy conversation after that listening to and sharing stories.
“I must be going insane,” All their eyes snap to a man standing in the doorway “Demon spawns actually getting along with someone,”
“Todd,” Damian acknowledges coldly.
“Hi,” Marion waves with far more friendliness, “I’m Marion, this is Marinette, your names Todd was it?”
“Jason actually, I lived here and drop by every now and then, mainly when Alfred asks," He explains, sitting on another couch near Marion, "Heard about you had a run in with a villain today,”
“Did you?” Damian asks, the two having avoided it in their conversation so far.
“Yeah, got an earful from Aunt Selina,” Marion laughs nervously.
“Did you get hurt?” Jason looks over Marion, concern written all over his face.
“What? No I’m fine thanks,” Marion smiles, Marinette rolled her eyes she stretches her leg to press to his bruised side, "Ow! Nette!"
"No lying," She shrugs as Marion turns to her. Cat-fred runs at the sudden movement, making Marion pout.
"Rich coming from you," He mutters, turing back to see the look on Jason's face, "My side just a little bruised, doesn't hurt unless someone, oh i don't know, kicks me!"
"I didn't kick you, you drama queen," Marinette sticks her tongue out at him and he copies.
“Did Selina train you?” Damian reverts the conversation.
“A little when we were younger, we still to spar together,” Marinette pretends to go for a kick to his side again, expecting the easy block.
"One of the few instances we're allows to punch each other," Marion jokes, "Although I think I'll hold off for now, you're not above using my injury to your advantage,"
"I'm resourceful," Marinette corrects, "Also, now you're hurt when you're afraid to get you're ass beat?"
"Such crass language, young lady," Jason teases, Marinette pokes her tongue out again.
"I can spar you if Marion is unwilling," Damian offers, Marion grumbles something along the lines of 'I never said that'.
"Right now?" Marinette sizes him up, she could tell he had some training.
"If you want," Damian also starts to size her up.
"Hold up now, you can't do this," Jason steps in, Marinette starts to deflate, "In here, Alfred would stop you, lets go outside,"
She perks up, following Jason, Marion and Damian outside to a clear area of grass. She toes off her shoes and socks, knowing they were steel capped and would cause some serious damage. She also pulls off her scarf, not willing to give him any advantage. Damian keeps his shoes on, clicking his tongue. They start to circle each other, waiting for someone to make a move. Marinette feels the grass beneath her feet, she feels more like Ladybug in a way.
Damian breaks the standoff, lunging at her. Marinette side steps at the last second, reminding herself to tone it down. She tries to make use of the opening by getting behind him, but Damian instantly pivots to keep her in front of him. Marinette takes note he's a lot faster than anticipated and decides to test it. She makes the next move forward throwing a few punches to see how he reacts. Damian easily dodges each one, Marinette realises that she is unprepared to fight someone smaller than her. They did occasionally have to fight Akumatised children but that was with superpowers. She had never actually gone hand to hand with someone smaller.
Taking this into consideration she adjusts to a style she uses more when sparring Marion. They're both about the same size and he's fast so she can rarely use his weight against him like she usually would. Marinette stops trying to get behind Damian, instead planning to send him to the ground, knowing she had the size advantage. Damian seemingly notices this change and adjusts his defences.
'how well is he trained?' Marinette asks herself. Damian tries to goad her into attacking, throwing out punches. Marinette doesn't rise to the bait, dodging and blocking. Marinette dances around their sparring area, testing Damian's stamina while waiting for an opening. She sees her chance and is about to move into counter attack.
"Damian!" They both pause looking toward the manor to see Bruce and Selina.
"Marinette! what do you think you're doing?" Aunt Selina storms towards them.
"Uh... bonding?" She laughs nervously.

"You'llalways be my daughter Y/N"
Green lantern!Batsis! Reader
Y/N, leaves against her adopted dad's wishes. He refuses to give her his blessing. Both pained by hurtful though untrue word's.
Tumblr media
"I will not allow it!!" Bruce yelled anger in his voice
I put on my ring revealing my green lantern uniform

"I'm a adult I was Robin I was trained by you, you taught me everything I know!" I brokenly said
He scoffed with a grunt "I forbid it! has long has you are my daughter and are of this family you will not join the war!!"
I scoffed and shook my head "I'm you're daughter fine by me you love me great but not letting me go and you will lose me has your daughter!"
"I'm not letting you leave" he said folding his arm's
I feel tears stream down my face I flew off
"where are you going?!" he asked
"why do you care I'm not you're daughter anyway"
I left to go fight in the War of the Green Lanterns. I hated leaving on bad terms with Bruce. I knew he only was trying to protect me. Finally after four years the war was over. I broke my left arm and I lost my ring. I sacrificed my power's to save earth. I made it to Gotham 4 year's. I didn't know it would hit me this hard. I sat on the bench at the park. I felt ashamed, guilt. I told Bruce I wasn't his daughter it broke my heart. I feel tears stream down my face. I miss you're siblings, Alfred and Dad. I never even told them goodbye. I took a deep breath and got up my arm in a lot of pain. I whistle for a taxi I went to Bludhaven to see my little brother. I went to his house, I slowly nocked. The door opened tears already streaming down my face. Dick looked at me shocked
"I was in town and I wanted to see my brother" I said crying
Tears started to fall from Dick's face. He touched my cheek
"Y/N.. You're home. What happened to you're arm?" he asked
He wrapped his arms around you gently. I rub his back remembering when his was Robin.
"daddy whose here!?" I hear a little girl say
I laughed crying and saw her she had Dick's hair and Barbara's eye's. I knelt down to her
"hi I'm Y/N" I say softly
Her face lit up
"you're my aunt! I have you're middle name!" I looked at Dick he shook his head yes still crying. I looked back at my niece "my name is, Mary!"
"oh Mary I love that name" I said
She ran off "mommy! mommy! Aunt Y/N is home!" she said
I laughed and stood up
"she's adorable, Grayson"
He smiled and dried his tears. Barbara rolled in, in her wheelchair! I had no idea she was in a wheelchair. I covered my face. She started crying I slowly walked to her and knelt down. I hugged her with my right arm
"oh Barb's" I said full of remorse
"it's OK you didn't know" she said crying
"I should have never left" I rasp
"hey you did the right thing besides I had, Dick"
"I'm glad for that"
I stood up Dick hugged me again. Mary, hugged my leg
"have you seen anyone else?" Barbara asked
I shook my head no unable to speak feeling so much emotion
"I probably should" I manage to say
"I can give you a ride" Dick said
"you know yeah that would help" I said
Dick and I went to the Manor he dropped me off. Dick left to get Jason. I walked to the door and knocked. Alfred opened his face shocked
"Miss Y/N!" he said
"hello Alfred I'm glad to see you're still with us" I said
He shook his head at my comment and we embraced
"would you like some tea" he asked
"hmm that sounds wonderful but first I need to see my siblings" I said softly grateful to finally be home
Alfred gently nodded I walked to Stephanie's room. I took a deep breath and nocked
"come in" she said
I opened the door and saw her listening to music on her bed. She didn't notice me I grabbed her pillow and hit her
"hey!" she said mad
She saw me she covered her face crying
"Y-Y/N you're alive" she said crying
She hugged my waist crying. I kissed her head and rubbed her head
"I can't believe it you're here you're alive and what happend to you're arm!" she said
"I'm ok" I said
She let go of me and stood up you touched her cheek crying
"we have much to catch up on Sis but I need to see our brothers"
"no!" she said and hugged me
"later tonight will talk"
"yes!" she said exited
I laughed and walked to Tim's room I knocked
"come in" he said
I opened the door and saw Tim glued to the computer, has he usually is
"haven't I told you to take a break from that stupid computer"

He hugged me crying "I forbid you from leaving" he mumbled
I smiled and hugged him tight crying. I walk into the study with my younger siblings
"Y/N Jason's here and he refuse's to believe me!" Dick yelled from the living room
We all walked to the living room
"I'm telling you Dick it's impossible Y/N has been gone for 4 years and she suddenly just--" he stopped when he saw me "shows up, Y/N what the hell happened to you're arm?!" he said
I walked to him "just shut up and hug me Jaybird"

"believe me little brother I'm staying for a long time"
I heard the door open I took a deep breath knowing it was Bruce. He saw me Bruce froze my siblings left the room, I started crying
"will you'll be happy to know I lost all my powers you were right I did get hurt" he walked closer to me "if you want me to leave for good I will. I wanted to say I'm sorry I left like I did" he touched my cheek
I started sobbing he hugged me. I hugged him tight with you're right arm
"I'm so sorry dad" I said
"you'll always be my daughter Y/N" he said with genuine remorse

I Will be Your Tim Drake for Tonight (1) (Jason Todd/ Reader)
Summary:  Preferring to do anything but your physics project, you decide to accepts Tim’s proposal. It’s simple. He does your project, you try to figure out whether Jason Sionis is criminal. Easy, right?
masterlist
A/n: This takes place in a world where Jason is adopted by Black Mask. Inspired by Building Interest by Zoeleo.
The events and characterization in this story are very heavily based on Zoeleo's Long Term Investment series. It is fantastic and I really highly recommend all of her fics.
a/n: For clarification, Reader does have psychic powers but it only lets her sense people's emotions physically. No mind-reading. Her power is more like an overactive sense of empathy which may force her to dissociate into someone else.
There will be violence and mentions of alcoholism (used as coping mechanism for physical pain) and chronic pain.
As for the additional warning, an animal is harmed but it is barely described. I could not bring myself to actual describe it but the aftermath is described.
I also just converted this from an OC so I apologize for any grammatical mistakes.
Without further a do:
Your skin itches as you make your way through the crowd. It wasn't the suit. After all, Alfred Pennyworth was incapable of doing wrong. It was the sea of hands patting your back, petting your head, and pinching your cheeks made every inch of skin want to slough off. Tim owed you. He owed you big time. Then again he's back at the manor tackling your physics project and making sure Gotham doesn't set itself on fire while Batman is on  ‘vacation’.
You should be fine. It’s not like Brucie asked you to investigate a suspected criminal who also happens to be Roman Sionis’ heir. Nope, no pressure there. Thanks Bruce. You’re clad in blue contacts, a black wig, makeup, and a stolen suit. As safe as you felt in someone else's skin, you still felt like you were gonna fall over. Maybe it's because you were dumb enough not to bring your cane.
The room was dizzyingly full of people. Your mind goes haywire. Jumping from one mind to the next. Dipping into every emotion it could stick itself into. It was almost overwhelming enough for you to forget about the ache in your leg. You knew this night was gonna be far longer than you could stand.  You needed a drink. Or 9.
"Hey, no drinking! You're underaged!" Dick nearly shrieked, plucking your fifth(?) flute of champagne. You wouldn't be in a few months. Really he was being quite unreasonable to the drunk person in front of him. Looking him dead in the eyes,  you wave another server over and take 2 flutes of champagne.  "I'm fine Dick. I've drunken harder stuff than this."
"No," Dick said firmly snatching the 2 flutes from your hand.
"Big bro pleeeaaasee" You drawl sweetly knowing Dick was a sucker for that move.  Dick tries to look unmoved but you could see in the slump of his shoulders that he wanted to give in.  "I'm having an episode," The word episode felt strange and wrong but there really was no other way to describe it. "and I don't have any painkillers on me." You added hastily.
"Fiiine-" Dick whines, resolve crumbling to dust. Handing back only one flute of champagne, he scolds: "Just don't get shit faced. We're here on a mission."
"Yes, motheeeer,"
Without missing a beat, you down it, feeling the tearing in your head beginning to fade.
"Jesus, calm down," Dick said taking the now empty flute from you.
You are less than surprised by the fact that he isn't fazed by being called mother at this point. It might just be the alcohol. The Powers might not understand the concept of fun but they sure do have taste in alcohol.
While Dick lectures you on safe alcohol consumption and Babs laughs unhelpfully, You feel the press of another person's mind.  The other 2 seem to notice it too. Being pulled out of their reverie, they turn to greet them.
"Target at 2'oclock" Babs whispers but your mind had for some reason forgotten how English worked. Instead, it drifted to the simple mind coming closer to them. Almost too quickly,  you dropped down to your knees. Your joints complained but you could feel your mind smooth as you placed a gentle hand on the dog's fur.
The dog whuffs with glee as if to say "Yes! There! Pat there!".
Absorbed in the dog's uncomplicated happiness, you began to piece yourself back together and the pain in your head receded.
" Who's a good girl? You are! You are!"
The dog yips happily. Its smooshed face pressing into your hand. You forget the party until-
Dick coughs clearing his throat, laughter bright in his blue eyes.
You, for the first time, notice the person beside the dog. It was their target, Jason Sionis,  stretching out his hand to shake yours.
"Oh- Uh- it's just your dog- She's- Hi, I'm Tim Drake." you shoot up to shake his hand. You notice the patches of scabs and scars on his knuckles. You’re pretty sure Dick or Tim could give him a run for his money if they didn't have makeup on. Though that just might speak more to their-as Damian puts it- incompetence.
Your eyes flicker to Dick momentarily as he tries so hard not to laugh.
"Well, it was nice to make your acquaintance," Jason says flatly as he turns his attention to Dick and Babs for a more coherent discussion.  You weren’t entirely certain that you offended him but you were probably close.
You want to say that it's his eyes that you notice first. They were a striking shade of ultramarine,  a terrifying facsimile of the ocean. They made you shudder. You would have rather noticed how nicely he filled out his suit. The man was made of muscle under that well-tailored suit.  You file the image for further appreciation later.  But, unfortunately, you are far too accustomed to checking your brothers for wounds for your eyes to not immediately flicker towards the scar on his face. It takes everything in you not to stare at the scar cleaving down the flesh of his cheek rigging the right side of his face into a permanent grin. Thankfully, he leaves them saying something about having business somewhere else.
Sure, the guy falls into Gotham’s pattern of ruining your face and turning to a life of crime but so far he hasn’t really shown anything concrete.   Plus, he’s really nice to his dog. No one that nice to a dog could possibly be the Red Death, Black Mask’s shiniest, and rumored to be his most brutal, new enforcer. Then again, your mother always did treat Anatoli like a king.
"Tim was right. You can act like him. You even got him shoving his own foot in his mouth down pat. Great job. " Dick chuckles patting you on the shoulder jostling you out of your thoughts.
You sigh. "The next time I go undercover I'm going alone. I don't even know why you're here."
"I think you've demonstrated why."
You- annoyed, embarrassed, and feeling the marching in your skull coming back- jab "Alright Fabio , you befriend Mr.Pretty boy-" .
"That's pretty mean eve-"
"I didn't mean it to be mean-"you honestly didn't but you were byelingual at this point.  "-I think he's pretty. Scars are sexy and all of that carp. "
"I am very concerned."
"You should be. I'm out of booze and the dog just walked away. " you hissed rubbing the side of your head before stomping off to look for more drinks.
You feel your head jack rabbiting again. The staff had, as per some evil person's request (Likely Dick or maybe Babs), cut you off from the booze. You find yourself wandering around until your feet take you outside. The cool night air and the nearly freezing bricks sooth you warmed skin as you slide against it.
"What? Did you come out 'ere to watch my dog piss?" a slightly familiar baritone voice chuckled.
"As fun as that sounds, I just escaped Dick Grayson. I believe that, in itself, is reason enough to go outside and take in the 'fresh' Gotham night air. " you snark, looking up expecting him to grin at you but was greeted with a look of concern. You’ve seen it before. Your hand almost automatically makes its way to your nose.  You felt a thick liquid brush against the pads of your fingers. If you looked at them, you’d likely see them covered in blood.
You shrug and brush your deep red sleeve against your face. You probably didn't get all of it based on the crooked grin on his face.
"Shit kid, they'll think I punched you." Jason chuckles good-naturedly. You know he's not nervous. He’s charming enough to talk his way out of it.
"Relax, Dick will likely say I deserved it if they do think you punched me but that is highly unlikely seeing these episodes are an open secret after I bled on Mrs. Yavorski's satin dress a few years ago. "
"Well, in that case, you want a smoke? Should take the edge off." Jason says it as a joke holding out a pack of cigarettes to you. Everyone knows Wayne kids are good kids.
You, feeling particularly cheeky, take the cigarette between his lip and take a long drag, inhaling and letting your eyes slide close.
He makes a quiet choking noise. Away from the sea of minds, you can feel his eyes on you. Wide and disbelieving. A cocktail of interest, embarrassment, excitement, and delight swirls in his mind. It might have been attraction or it might just have been amusement. You shouldn't be too surprised by the reaction. Tim is quite the knock out even when he looks dead on his feet. His confusion only lasts five seconds before you cough out   "Christ, it's just as bad as Bruce said it was."
You hand him back the cigarette laughing and coughing into your sleeve.
"So, did your brother tell you to apologize?" He says, clearing his throat not really looking you in the eyes. You can still see the faint speck of color on his face.
"Well,  he didn't say it. He doesn’t really have to and I do have manners contrary to popular belief. Plus! In my defense, your dog is cute. "
"Lizzie is, isn't she?" Jason smiles patting Lizzie on her head. It was a soft gesture. Something you really didn't expect from a supposedly hardened criminal let alone someone raised by Roman Sionis.
You crouch down to Lizzie's level and put your hands on the dog's face. Lizzie happily nuzzles into your hands.
"You have a dog?"
" Depends, does Dick count?"
Jason snorts. "Do you ever think before you speak?"
"Not when I'm drunk and bleeding, no."
"How drunk are you?"
You mime counting.  "As far as Dick knows, I'm 1 to 2 flutes drunk. As far as the staff knows, I'm 7 flutes drunk."
"I should probably get you back to your brother then" Jason laughs, pulling you by the arm. You notice for the first time just how big his hands really are.
"No, I-"
Gunshots. Pain. Panic. They ring in equal measure to you as a black van pulls up in the alley.
"Fuck! Box!"
A man in a dark suit crumples to the ground. You recognize him. He was part of Jason's security team. In a flurry of movement, Jason's by his side. You think he's checking the injuries- which in your opinion is at once the smartest and dumbest move you could do in this situation- but he-is in fact-checking for a gun.
Gun in hand, Jason begins shooting at the men.
You think to grab a stray brick or something but you knew your best chance was to crouch low and maybe convince Jason to do the same. But based on the murder radiating from him, that was highly unlikely.
Lizzie runs out in front of them to protect Box and Jason. It goes as well as expected.
Lizzie whines into your touch. The tendrils of your mind desperately trying to keep Lizzie there. You want to scream. Your mind surges trying to dip into someone else but Jason's anger and grief consume you. You want to charge at them, rip their throats out, tear them limb from limb. But it's Jason who does it. His body launches forward faster than you could speak.
The men in masks were just as fast. One of them incapacitates him with a well-placed metal pipe to the head. His whole body hits the pavement with one loud thud. Your breath catches.
"There's two of them,"
"What do you mean there's two of them?"
"The boss said black hair, blue eyes, and a fucked up face"
"Did he say what kind of fucked up?"
"Not really"
You want to squawk about how nosebleeds don't really count. Given,  it is bleeding like it’s auditioning to be the next Niagara falls.
"Just take them both!" barks a rough voice from the van.
You think to make a break for it but fast as you are(not really). Your head was still ringing and you couldn't really take them out on your own.
You hold your hands up in surrender. "I'll go quietly. I know the drill. "
The men look at each other clearly confused by your cooperation but not really willing to question it.
They throw cuffs on your wrist and literally throw you into the van like a sack of potatoes. Not that they treat Jason any better. He looks dizzy and pale.
"Are you-"
With a heave, he throws up on "your" shoes. You want to laugh. You really do. You also just want to cry.
Tim is going to kill you. No, Alfred will. If you’re lucky-which you never are- Dick will suffocate you with a hug before they ever get to you.
Maybe just maybe, the kidnappers will do it for you.
Yeah, right.

What if Marinette had a Retired Police Dog as a Pet
@ozmav
This is going to be another Daminette with an au of an au, but Damian doesn't come in until a ways in the story just bare with me.
It's been 2 years since Lila the Liar came back to class and she has successfully turned all of Marinette's classmates against her
Her crush on Adrien has officially fizzled out thanks to him doing absolutely nothing to stand by her as he once promised
She couldn't even turn to Chat because of his increasingly bad attitude towards her when ever she rejects him
He's not even showing up to half the akuma attacks
It's a good thing the attacks are becoming more spaced out
But the Akumas seem to be stronger the more time that passes between attacks
On the bright side with all her new free time she was able to work more on her designs that lead to more work worh Jagged Stone and Clara Nightingale who after seeing Marinette's work with Jagged decided that she needed a piece done by her too
Her parents noticing that their lovely daughter who once was full of sunshine was getting duller by the day so they wanted to try and do something a little bit crazy to cheer her up a bit
So one Saturday they went to the local animal shelter to get Marinette a new friend
Marinette didn't know what to expect when her parents were going to take her but she wasn't expecting the animal shelter
She has to say she's not mad about it
Her life has gotten really lonely lately
She usually would just hang out with Luka and Kagami her only true friends but they've been pretty busy lately
So when she saw the animal shelter she got pretty excited
Marinette: really?
Tom: Really you can get any animal you want?
Tom and Sabine were expecting her to get a cat or maybe one of the rodents that people dropped who didn't realized how much work they were but know so some reason she went to the scary looking German sheperd that was laying in the corner
Marinette couldn't explain it but she just felt drawn to this dog
He seemed just as sad and lonely as she was
Marinette slowly walked up to the giant dog
Marinette: hey there buddy
The dog just raised his head gave her an unimpressed look before laying his head back down
Marinette: I guess you've been here a while huh. I've been alone a while too, but maybe we can be alone together.
The German sheperd looked at this funny little girl that's sitting next to him, not many people even bothered giving him a second look.
They mostly just want to see the puppies the older dogs rarely get adopted, and he wasn't sure he wanted a human not after what happened to his last human
But looking into this girls eyes he saw something in them that was similar to his own. She has seen some much stuff just like him
So even though he may not have wanted a human but it looks like he has one now
He gave the girl a lick on the cheek to show that he wanted to be her dog
Marinette: I'll take that as a yes
Marinette gave him a big hug
Tom and Sabine could see the writing on the wall Marinette has found her dog and he's huge
Sabine waved down an employee to let them know they found the dog they wanted
Employee: oh are you sure? That's Captain he was a police dog.
Tom: Was? What happened?
Employee: He was on the force for 2 years before he lost his partner in a drug bust gone bad. After that he kinda just shut down he wouldn't work with any other officers. And nobody would take him so he ended up here.
Tom and Sabine were a bit worried after hearing that but hearing their daughter laugh as Captain plopped down on her lap washed away all their worries
Tom and Sabine: We'll take him
Captain's bond with Marinette only grew since that day
They did everything they could together
He would even wait for her outside of school when they got out for lunch and to go home
Tom even put a doggy door in so that Captain can pick up Marinette from school
He even has his own dog bed in the bakery where he would lay down while Marinette was at school
Marinette would make him tons of bandanas
Each of them different
A lot of them are police themed
His favorite is a black bandana with a yellow sheriff's badge on it but instead of saying sheriff it says Captain
Captain enjoys just laying on Marinette's lap as she sews and design new clothes
He can always tell when Marinette is down, and would give her a kiss to cheer her up
Captain has tons of toys
He loves squeaky toys and hard toys
He does have a few plush toys but he is a known toy destroyer when it comes to them
Kagami and Luka love him
He tolerates them in return
They make his girl happy so they're okay in his book
Captain loves Tikki though and vice versa
Tikki loves cuddling on top of him and Captain enjoys her belly rubs
She also sneaks him treats when Marinette isn't looking
The class also knows about Captain but they don't like him because he growled at Lila once
Captain can tell a bad person when he sees one he spent his whole puppy hood learning to do that.
He also really doesn't like Adrien
A year and a couple of months after Marinette and Captain found each other Marinette's class was chosen to take a class trip to Gotham
They'll be there 2 weeks at the end of the school year so that they wouldn't miss much work
Marinette was so excited
She gave Luka and Kagami their miraculous to hold for the 2 weeks while she was gone just in case an akuma shows up, but that would be unlikely considering there was an attack just the weekend before she left
The only downside is that she couldn't take Captain with her
They really haven't been separated from her for more than a couple of hours apart, and he is super protective of her so that might stress him out if she just wasn't there one day.
It was decided that Captain would come with her parents to say goodbye at the airport
Captain knew what was going on
They were sending away his girl for who knows how long, and he wouldn't be there to protect her.
Well Captain wasn't having it. His girl isn't going anywhere without him
While Tom and Sabine were distracted he slipped out of his collar (keeping his favorite bandana on) and slipped onto the plane with the TSA agent that was walking on the plane.
He made sure to stay close enough to make it look like he was with the agent but far away enough that the agent didn't notice him.
After he hid under the table in the back of the plane
Captain didn't make his presence know until 2 hours into the flight
If asked he would say it was his plan so they couldn't turn around and take him off the plane but in reality he fell asleep back there and just woke up at the time.
There was chaos when Captain came out
The class was not happy and Lila was crying about how Marinette was just looking for attention and snuck her dog on the plane
Marinette: He's more than half my size how exactly would I be able to sneak him on the plane? How did nobody notice a big random dog on board?
The flight staff feeling a bit embarrassed about being called out on such a big mistake decided to leave it there for now, and luckily for Marinette she had an open seat by her that Captain could sit on.
Once they landed Marinette had to be held back at customes the make sure Captain wouldn't cause a plague to any dog he met while there
One of the teachers stayed behind with her so she wouldn't be alone at the airport in a foriegn countey
After 2 hours and a fax from her parents, and a bathroom break for poor Captain she and Captain was free to go, but thanks to the hold up Marinette missed not only the group dinner they were going to have but was also forced into a room by herself cutting herself off from her classmates even more.
After Marinette had everything unpacked she found her teacher and asked if she could go to a near by pet store so that she could pick up stuff that Captain needed
Ms. Bustier said she could go if she got a buddy to go with her
Marinette tried to ask her classmates
She thought for sure Adrien would at least come with her but no
Everybody said no
Nobody took pity on her
They all agreed with Lila and thought she snuck Captain here for attention
Adrien even lectured her about trying to cause problems for Lila
Well fine then she'll just go by herself
Captain WAS a police dog
He would be able to protect her if something happened
Not the mention she was ladybug she could take care of herself
So leaving the hotel with Captain by her side Marinette felt no fear going out on the night
It was a bit of a walk to the closest pet store, but when they got there it was worth it
The store had absolutely everything that Marinette needed, a collar, leash, dog bowls, dog food, poop bags, dog shampoo, and even had enough money to get him a squeaky toy in the shape of a robin
Marinette spent a lot more time in the store then she thought she would so by the time she left it was way past the time it was consider safe to be out on the streets of Gotham especially when you're a 16 year old girl with her dog and arms full of bags
That's what Damian Wayne was thinking when he saw her walking on the street
He was on his patrol root when he saw the most beautiful girl he ever seen with a dog connect to her hand via a leash
Well Damian couldn't just let a beautiful girl like this walk to wherever she's going by herself so he swung down to the alleyway so he could escort her
Marinette was on high alert
Gotham was a lot different then Paris, while she felt safe even comforted walking through the Parisain nights
But here all she felt was jittery and scared
While passing one of the many dark allies in the city Captain started growling
He got in front of Marinette and growled at the person in the alley
Captain refused to let anybody harm Marinette while he was still around
Damian: Hold of your dog I come in peace.
Damian walked out of the alley with his arms raised to show that he didn't mean any harm
Captain kept growling
Marinette: Oh your Robin aren't you one of Gotham heroes
Captain kept growling
Damian: yes can you please call off your dog
Marinette:oh of course! *Marinette bends down to pet Captain* it's okay Captain he's a good guy. You can stand down
Captain stopped growling but he made sure to stay between his girl and the boy in tights
Damian: you know miss it really isn't safe to be wondering the streets alone at night maybe I can walk you to where you're going
Marinette: Well I wouldn't say no to the company
As they walked back to the hotel the talked about everybody and nothing the conversation just seemed to flow between them. Though Captain made sure to stay between them he was happy that Marinette seemed to found a companion even if it was just for one walk
They said goodbye once they reached the hotel as Marinette went up to his hotel room Damian raced home to hack into her school's itinerary and see if he could somehow meet her again
Jason: What are you doing Demon Spawn
Damian: None of your business Todd
Tim: it looks like he's hacking into some sort of school's schedule
Dick: A French school at that. Are you planning to leave us little bird?
Damian: No and it's still none of your business.
Dick: I know let's hack into into the street cameras and and see if something came up on his patrol
Damian spun around
Damian: YOU SHOULD NOT SO THAT
Jason: Now we have to do it!
Damian: No!
Dick: I'm in! Oh ho who do we have here a little girly stole dear Damian's heart
Tim: Oooo a pretty girl too, and french going by the schedule
Dick: and with a dog definitely an animal lover
Jason: What's her name Demon Spawn?
Damian: Stay out of it you idiots!
Dick: Wait I recognize that school I'm giving them a tour on Wednesday of Wayne Enterprise
Damian: So she's going to be at the building this Wednesday?
Jason: Aw Demon Spawn so happy to see his girlfriend
Damian: SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!!!!
Tim: but you want her to be
Dick: you know since she has a dog with her she'll have to walk him, meaning she'll head to the closest park which is just across the street
Jason: And according to this schedule they have a free day tomorrow probably to sleep of the jet lagged
Damian got a look on his face like he was coming up with an evil plan
Bruce who has been in the bat cave with them all this time just shocked his head
That poor girl has no idea what she's accidentally got herself into
The next day Marinette took Captain to the park across the street to give him a nice walk
There she ran into one Mr. Damian Wayne who have been there for an hour now hoping to run into her.
Captain recognize this boys smell from last night and was a bit more calm around him
Damian and Marinette spent hours in the park talking a getting to know each other
It felt like they've know each other all their lives, and not just a couple of hours
Captain even warmed up to him enough to let Damian pet him on the head
For a minute
That's it
Their meet up at the park lead to a coffee date, which lead to an exchanged of numbers
Marinette: Maybe this trip won't be as lonely as I thought
Bonus
Of course Damain's brother were spying on him at the park
Jason: OMFG I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW WELL THIS IS GOING!!!
Tim: I know it seems like she really likes him
Dick: Shut up they're going to hear us!
Damain did hear them and when Marinette wasn't looking he glared in their direction with the clear message that they needed to leave
Bonus Bonus
At one point Marinette and Damian were in a mugging situation with 2 guys
Tumblr media
Captain looked down one and Marinette took down the other
At that moment Damian knew he had to marry this girl

You Deserve a Love...Chapter 9
Damian Wayne x reader
Tag: @slowlydrowningme @hhhellish
Link to Inspo Post: Post
Summary: Questions, questions, only one could shock you quite like this
Word Count: 1626
You woke slowly, something that’d become more and more common in the several last several months since your relationship with Damian became more serious. Your personal favorite mornings were exactly like this: slow morning, waking naturally, snuggled up in the arms of the man you loved, in a bed that felt like it was the size of your entire bedroom back at your apartment. The gentle hand running through your hair told you that Damian was awake and also enjoying the lazy atmosphere.
“G’morning,” you muttered, palm running up the length of his back as you hugged him close.
“Good morning, habibati.”
Oh, the things that sleep-rough voice of his did to you.
“Sleep well?”
“I always do when I’m with you.”
There was a pause. “Then why don’t we make it permanent?”
You could feel your eyebrows scrunch up as you leaned back enough to look at him. “Care to run that by me again?”
He moved to press a kiss to the underside of your jaw. “We hate being apart, I love you more than anything, and you have never backed down when I’ve told you the truth about me. Even Father’s other wards cannot say the same about their paramours. Be with me forever.”
He looked a little startled when you jerked forward to press a hard kiss to his lips before answering. “Yes,” you breathed. “A bazillion times yes.”
A rare, broad grin spread across his face. “So how do you want to do this?”
“How have we done everything else? Act then tell. Though I suppose they’re gonna freak if we just do it.”
“Do you really care?”
“Not really.”
“Exactly as I thought.” A sweet kiss was graced to your forehead. “Then we will spend the day making preparations. What do you need to accomplish?”
“Assuming we’re going on a trip, I’ll need to pack and get my cat to someone who can watch him.
“We are. We can take him at the same time we take Pennyworth and Titus.”
“Pet bonding,” you laughed. “Here's hoping they get along.”
“Moving into a new apartment shouldn’t be too difficult,” Damian mused. “A moving company should be able to get everything packed and here by tonight.”
“Fair point. I love you, but I’d rather not live with your dad, and Titus won’t fit at my place. Wow, they really are gonna throw a fit when they catch wind of this . . .”
“You like seeing them squirm.”
A sadistic grin made itself present on your face. “Yep! But we should probably get up. Apparently we’ve got a lot to do today.”
Eight hours later, flights and lodging were booked, a (shockingly large) penthouse was bought, everything was at least in your new home, and the pets were getting along surprisingly well. Exhausted, you flopped onto the bed (the only piece of furniture that was actually setup) face-first. You only enjoyed the peace for a few brief moments before a heavy weight settled on your back.
“What--” a look over your shoulder answered that question before it fully left your mouth. Titus had dubbed you as his bed, and was now pressing you into the mattress. “Comfy there?” you chuckled. The presence of the man-sized dog did bring to light an issue that you hadn’t considered before. “Hey, D?”
“Yes?” he called from across the apartment. Just how muffled the sound was really drove home the scale of your new home.
“We’re gonna need a bigger bed! Mine isn’t big enough for the big baby!”
“We can look into that when we get back.” Now his voice was much closer. And there he was, smiling from the doorway at the sight of the two of you lounging. “Jason agreed to take care of them while we’re gone. He will be setting up and staying in the guest room.”
“He ask where we’re going?”
“I told him the truth; he will run interference for us. Keep Grayson and Olivia from getting too nosey. Drake and Gordon will likely respect our wishes for privacy on our trip.”
“We’ll be lucky if they don’t realize we moved.”
“I would expect nothing less--”
“From the family of Batman, I know,” you rolled your eyes. There was a certain tightness in the set of your fiance’s shoulders that made you frown. “What’s wrong?”
“My father knows. He called after I talked to Todd.”
Referring to Jason by his last name, not a great sign considering how much closer they’d gotten in the last few months. “What did he say?”
“He has . . . differing opinions about romantic attachments than the rest of us. He views them as an--”
“Unnecessary risk. I remember.”
That opinion had proven to be quite the issue in the early days of your relationship. Bruce’s unwavering view about how dangerous it could be to have such attachments nearly drove Damian to cut his ties with you altogether. One of the only ways you’d gotten his (in the loosest definition of the term) was to have Damian start teaching you self-defense, and even then he only admitted that you helped temper Damian’s ego. Nothing more. Alfred was the one that made you welcome at the manor when you crashed there with Damian.
“He was surprisingly in favor of it,” only his green eyes showed his shock.
You blinked in surprise. “What?”
“He said his gift would be to help make any changes to this place we wanted.”
Your eyes narrowed. “Why do I feel like Alfred talked down his initial reaction?”
“Because I wouldn’t love you if you were an idiot.”
“Gotta be smart to keep up with a family of detectives, I guess,” you smiled. “Love you too, baby.” You blew a kiss in his direction. “So now that we’ve got your dad’s approval, is there anything else we need to worry about before we leave?”
“Jason will be by in the morning to stay, we’re all packed, people think you are busy this week, making you unavailable, we will pick out rings when we get there . . .” Gently, he pulled on Titus’s collar to guide his off of you. “I can only think of one more thing.”
“Hmm?” you hummed at the question as he pulled you into a seated position.
From his pocket, he pulled out a small velvet box.
Your heart skipped a few beats. “Damian, you didn’t . . .” Your eyes flicked up to his face to see that he once again had that smile that only aided in the newfound arrhythmia in your chest.
“Technically, it was Pennyworth--the man, not the cat--that helped me decide. Well, him and Jason.”
“When did you have the time? I was with you all day!”
“Two weeks ago.”
You blinked blankly, once again stunned.
“Habibati, you know I’m not one to make rash decisions--Are you crying?”  He laughed a little. “You haven’t even seen it yet!”
“Shut up! It’s your fault for being so sweet!” The gesture was rough as you moved to wipe your tears.
Jason snickered when he saw the post you just made on your Instagram. It was sure to send the rest of the group into a tizzy, and it was his job to fend off their questions. He was looking forward to that part. He jumped at every opportunity to mess with his makeshift little family. They may have made up for the most part, but he had to get his kicks somehow.
It was a picture that could have been posted at literally any time because it was such a normal image. It showed a pair of hands holding each other; anyone could guess that it was you and Damian. Jason was amused to note that your hand was carefully turned to hide the ring he knew to be there. His littlest brother was driving (his Mercedes judging by the emblem on the steering wheel.) And that’s all there was. There was a vague sense of normalcy to it that made it such a precious picture.
The caption was what made it a bit strange: [@therealwayne and I are unplugging for a spell. We’ll see you all on the flipside]
Already, there was a comment from Cass, [What?! You guys just got back from the LAST trip!!]
Then Jason’s phone went off. That was fast.
Of course it was Dick in the massive group chat they had made a while ago. [Where are you guys going?!]
Steph: [Yeah, I didn’t even get to see you!]
Huffing a sigh, Jason typed, [They’re not going to answer, guys. They said they were going radio silent ‘til they get back, and their plane took off ten minutes ago]
[Wait, you KNEW they were leaving?!], Tim.
[No fair!], that would be Olivia.
[They needed someone to watch the children, and I’ve got the space] They didn’t need to know that he was staying at their place.
[And you’re their favorite] Jason could practically see Dick’s pouting face.
[Maybe that’s because I don’t constantly give them shit, Dickiebird]
[Mean.]
[They just want some space, guys] Jason was serious now. [Just let them be alone for a bit. They haven’t really had that since we met her.]
Barbara: [I hadn’t thought of it like that . . .]
[Exactly. Now, I’ve got a gigantic mutt to walk. All of you, leave them alone.]
That was a bit of a lie since Titus was perfectly content to lay on top of Jason as he lay on the couch, but Jason did want to lavish the Dane with attention. He’d spent the first thirty minutes after their departure sitting by the front door waiting for Damian to come back, and Jason’s heart just couldn’t handle seeing him stay that sad.
“They’ll be back before you know it, buddy,” he promised with a few head scritches.

A Parent’s Misadventures
So... someone asked and they got a sequel (of some sorts) to Dada?
Enjoy :D
-----
AO3
-----
Being a parent had its woes, but if you asked Jason and Marinette, watching their daughter grow up was rewarding, many firsts being the everlasting, heartwarming moments for them.
Her first steps brought tears to their eyes.
Jason was cleaning his bloody gear in the living room, Bridgette playing with her toys when she eyed something even better than the bean-filled water bottle- a knife.
However, the knife was on the coffee table, higher than what Bridgette can reach… unless she stood up.
So after six attempts on trying to balance herself, Bridgette stood firmly, noting her father was gawking at her, his mouth opening and closing before he scrambled to grab his phone.
Hoping it would work, Bridgette placed one foot in front of her, hearing gasps as she almost fell back, but quickly balanced herself.
It wasn’t hard. She can do this. Taking several steps towards the coffee table, she heard her parents scream and cry as she finally made it to the table, grinning as she got hold of the knife and turned to her parents for appraisal.
Her parents quickly praised, squishing her cheeks Bridgette noticing their faces pale considerably.
They ripped the knife away from her hand, Bridgette wondering why they took it away from her and proceeded to cry.
——-
Her first friend, a boy named Evan Johnson
The Johnsons had finished moving in next door, Marinette jumping up and down, excited to finally have a neighbor after the apartment next door being vacant for a whole two years.
She quickly prepared a quiche, blabbering to Jason how it was a family secret, giggling when she told Jason he couldn’t have some and watched as he and their daughter pouted in unison.
Of course, that pout turned into a frown when Marinette dragged him to help welcome their neighbors, a nice couple from New York.
Maya and Kyle had recently obtained a new scoop at Gotham, having to move Gotham to get it.
However, seeing as the two couldn’t find a sitter nor relatives who can watch over Evan, they brought him along, worried to death about his safety.
“Don’t worry about a thing.” Marinette stated, cutting up the quiche. “You’re in the luckiest place in Gotham. No crimes here in two years.”
“Because you made sure- hey!” Jason yelped when Mari slapped his hand as he reached for a piece.
“The Johnson’s first.” Mari growled, something in the corner of her eye catching her attention. “Is Evan still learning to walk?”
“Yes! Even though he knows how to balance himself perfectly-“ Kyle started
“He still hasn’t quite got the confidence to walk on his own.” Maya ended.
“Well,” Mari pointed towards the kitchen doorway, the four adults turning to see Bridgette guiding Evan, holding his hand.
Mari stifled a snort when she saw Jason narrow his eyes and grumble something under his breath.
“His first steps!” Maya and Kyle rejoiced, Mari smiling as she watched them fish for their cameras, praising their little tyke.
“Look at these-“
“I bet we were like that when Bridgette learned to walk.” Mari said softly, relaxing into Jason’s arm. Resting his head against Mari’s, Jason sighed.
“I bet we were… with the exception of panicking because she had a knife in her hand.”
“Well she only got it because someone thought cleaning blood covered equipment at the coffee table was a good idea.”
“Listen, there was a table. All my equipment needed cleaning. You were cooking at the kitchen table. Where else did you expect me to clean?”
Mari raised a brow. Jason gulped.
“You could’ve cleaned them outside.”
“And risk getting caught?”
“Since when did you care about that?” Jason opened and closed his mouth to fight back, but nothing came out. “I thought so.”
———
Her first pet -courtesy of Uncle Damian- a Doberman Bridgette had named Bunny.
Bunny was an energetic one year old girl, but three-year old Bridgette didn’t care
“Bridgette honey, Bunny isn’t a horse.”
“But I fit.” Bridgette reasoned, laying on top of Bunny, who simply let the child be. The tiny human was a walking heat pack after all.
“Damian, thank you for the gift.” Jason said, ruffling Damian’s hair. He wondered if he should ask Damian about any dog trainers to train Bunny into becoming a guard dog.
“Bridgette said she wanted a dog, so of course I complied with her wish.” Damian said, smiling as his niece decided to close her eyes for a quick nap.
“Damian, you’re spoiling her.”
“Mari has a point.” Jason grinned, Mari narrowing her eyes even more. “Does the animal shelter you fund have any rottweilers or pitbulls up for adoption?”
“Let me check.”
“DAMIAN. YOU BETTER NOT-”
“We do and they’re currently on their way.” Damian said with a smirk, a smirk that easily rivaled Jason’s own.
“Mon Dieu.” Mari cried, dragging her hands down her face.
------
But one of the things Marinette and Jason both wanted and yet didn’t want was that dreadful first phone call from school.
Marinette was in the middle of a consultation, already wrapping it up with her client when her two phones started to ring simultaneously.
Apologizing and quickly shoo-ing the client away, Mari picked both phones up, having her personal phone on speaker while she held the other one close to her ear. As soon as she heard Jason speaking on her private phone, she quickly told him to be silent for a while when her business phone started to speak.
“Is this Miss Todd’s number?”
“Speaking.”
“I apologize for disrupting your busy schedule-”
“Don’t worry about that.”
“Thank you, but I still do apologize for your first phone call from your daughter’s school to be about… this.”
Now worried, Marinette quickly starts packing her things, muttering a few words to Jason before making handwritten notes for her secretary, giving it to her as she left.
“Did something happen to Bridgette? Mon Dieu! Is she okay?”
“She is, but the other child isn’t.” A scream was heard in the background, causing Marinette to quicken her walk towards the elevator. “Can you please come to the school as soon as you can?”
“Of course! I’ll be there in 15 minutes!”
-----
Jason howled with laughter, Marinette flushed with embarrassment, slapping Jason’s arm in hopes of calming him down, but it had the opposite effect. His howls grew louder.
“I-I see… so that’s what happened.” Marinette said quietly, wondering where they went wrong… or rather right...
“We know that it was an accident and apologies were exchanged, but we want to prevent this from happening again in the future.”
“Of course, Madam Daichi.” Marinette got up and bowed, gesturing Jason to do the same. “We’ll talk with Bridgette to prevent this from happening again.”
With that, the two parents left the principal’s office, picking up Bridgette from her classroom along the way.
“We’re going to have a long talk Catherine.”
-----
“So Bridgette, did you really punch Olwin square on his jaw?” Jason asked sternly, Bridgette fidgeting under her father’s gaze.
The trip home was quiet, Bridgette possibly able to hear one of her mother’s sewing needles if they dared drop inside the car. Not a single word was uttered as they made their way to her room.
“I didn’t mean to, but he didn’t want to lend Petunia the paint brush and he even pushed her. So I punched him.” Bridgette pursed her lips, retraining herself from crying, baring the stinging of her eyes. “I’m going to be grounded, aren’t I?”
Jason’s attitude quickly flipped, picking up his daughter, spinning her around, laughing as he did. Bridgette was left dumbfounded at her father’s behavior. Didn’t she do something wrong?
“That’s my girl!” Jason praised, putting Bridgette down, ruffling her hair. “Your form was great! Really proud of you!”
“Jason!” Marinette cried out, standing next to him with her arms crossed. Jason sheepishly smiled, yelping when Mari pinched his arm. “You weren’t suppose to talk about her stance. Yes it was perfect but we didn’t teach her to punch properly if she was going to punch a classmate.”
“But Maman! Olwin-”
“Bridgette. Catherine. Todd.” Marinette sternly said, enunciating each name. “Yes, he did something wrong, but that was not the way to handle it.”
“So what did you want me to do?”
“Speak up.” Mari said softly, wrapping her arms around her girl, feeling Bridgette do the same. “You could’ve gotten a teacher to help you mon chou. That’s what they are there for. To help.”
“What if that didn’t work.”
“That’s when you take it upon yourself to act.” Marinette said, gently pushing Bridgette away from her, noticing tears stream down her cheeks.” Promise me you’ll talk with a teacher first before you decide to punch another child again.”
“I promise.”
-----
Oh how Marinette wished to have made Bridgette also promise to not talk about her side job as well as Jason’s.
“-so it caused us a great amount of concern when we saw her drawing.”
“I understand.” Marinette said, looking at the picture in her hands. Oh how she wanted to curl up and stay hidden forever.
There on the white sheet of paper was Jason and Marinetter, or should she say RED HOOD and LADYBIRD!
Oh mon Dieu!
“So why exactly did Bridgette say-”
“My husband and I helped out a close friend of ours with a short film in regards to the two vigilantes of Gotham.” Marinette said in one breath, giving the principal a smile. “I think you’ve heard of him, Nino Lahiffe?”
“That’s right!” The principal said, clapping her hands together. “He did mention making a film with Red Hood and Ladybird as his next project!”
“That’s right!” Marinette said through her teeth, glad that Lady Luck hadn’t left her side. “He needed to someone to do a quick visual for his project and seeing as he needed help, we offered him our help, so-”
------
After giving Bridgette an earful as to why she couldn’t talk about their jobs as vigilantes to her friends, Marinette and Jason had to leave to go to ‘work.’
Tying up the criminal with zip-ties, Ladybird let out a sigh.
“What’s wrong this time mon lutin?” Red Hood asked, throwing the other criminal over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
“Do you think I went too far on Bridgette?”
“Of course not.” Red Hood said, noticing that his words had no effect on her. “Okay, maybe a little.”
“But she can’t speak about this.” Ladybird motioned to her getup, to her black leather jacket and all black spandex suit. Five red dots laid on her chest. The mark of the ladybug Jason called them. “We can’t make her a target for the criminals of Gotham.”
“I know sweetheart.” Red Hood said softly, nudging his helmet against her forehead. “But Bridgette doesn’t need to be sheltered and protected like some fragile jewel. She’s strong. She can protect herself. She has us, the rest of my family, ready to have her back if anything were to happen to her.”
Ladybird let out a sigh, a small smile gracing her lips.
“You’re right. We’ll always protect her.”
“Always.” Red Hood repeated, hauling the criminal Ladybird had tied up onto his other shoulder. “Though, you have to admit, Cathy talking about us as her heroes was kinda cool.”
“You mean adorable.” Ladybird corrected, smiling at the thought. He was right. Bridgette thought they were heroes. She loved them. They were her heroes
“Now come on. We have a tiny robin awaiting us back at the nest.”
With a nod, the duo disappeared into the night, not being able to bare another second away from their robin.
.
.
.
What happened earlier that day...
Bridgette watched a shadow loom over her, already knowing who it was. With a grin she looked up at her teacher.
“What did you draw Bridgette?”
“My family!” Bridgette said with a smile, the teacher giving her a nervous laugh. Why was one of her ‘parents’ drawn with what appeared to be guns at each of their sides? And why did the other figure have a person under their foot?
“I-Is that so?”
“Yeah!” Bridgette smiled even more as she intensified the red on her father’s drawing, but shortly stopped. Was there something wrong with the picture of her parents?
Sure, they don’t look the same, but they were still the same people, with or without the masks.
They kept her safe, they kept others safe.
They protected everyone in Gotham…what was wrong with that?
“Who are they supposed to be?” Olwin scoffed, looking at her drawing with disgust. Standing up in annoyance, Bridgette lifted her drawing into the air, catching the attention of her classmates.
“This is the drawing of my parents! They’re my heroes! I love them a lot!” She smiled when her classmates ‘ooed’ and ‘awed’ at her drawing. “After tucking me into bed, they become your heroes too!”
“W-what do you mean by that sweetie?” The teacher asked, only to be ignored by the tiny girl.
“Do they fight bad guys?”
“You bet they do! They go pow!” Brigette said, punching into the air, making Olwin flinch. “And bam! The bad guys never cross them twice! Maman and Papa are too strong to be taken down!”
Her classmates cheered and made a racket with their toys, the teacher attempting to calm them down, but to no avail.
“Do they have cool powers?”
“No, but Maman uses her very,very,  heavy -hundred times heavy- yo-yo and knocks their fu- frogging lights off.” Bridgette exclaims, quickly remembering what happened when her mom caught her saying something her dad usually says. “Papa has these really, really quiet guns that when he goes pew, pew, it’s really hard to hear them. But that makes the bad guys super scared of him and they shi- slip on their own pee-pee and run away!”
Oh god. She almost cursed again. She will not suffer through that punishment ever again. Ever.
The teacher began to panic when a cult started to form in her classroom, the children cheering as Bridgette continued to answer questions, the teacher finally deciding to call for backup.
Oh how Bridgette wished she kept quiet about her parent’s hero jobs.
Little did she know she knew she was going to get an earful from her mother that evening and have to clean her neighbor’s apartment as punishment.
And no, she wasn’t referring to Evan’s house. She was talking about Mr. Perri’s apartment…
Mr.Perri… the many with two rooms filled to the brim with insects from all around the world…
Insects that terrified the shit out of her…
Oh how Bridgette wished she didn’t let Olwin get under her skin… if only she kept that secret to herself.

J is for Judgement
This is a part 2! Comes after a part 1, and a part 1.5!!
You smile at Dick when he darkens the pet stores doorway.
“Hey baby, hey baby,” he greets and you snort, coming around the counter to give him a hug. You’ve never been much of a hugger, but hell, he’s just the cuddliest.
Also he smells like a tasty man.
Pulling apart, he leans against your counter, an attempt at being casual and you hide a smirk.
“So, bestie,” he begins and you waver in place. Luckily the space is empty apart from the two of you. “I’ve got a thing tonight, if you’re interested in coming.”
“Going out on the town with my bestie?” You begin, about to rain him in stupid compliments.
“Ah- not, the town…” He cuts in and you hum, wrinkling your brow. “Dami is throwing the dog a birthday party,” his tone drags the words as if it’s a chore, even though it sounds like tonight might be the best of your life, “and it’s just a small gathering, family and close friends. I was wondering…”
He gives you a sneaky look.
“Yeeees?” you sing-song back and he licks his lips, trying to hide smile.
“If you were interested…” His mouth drags the words out and you feel like you’re vibrating from the inside out.
“Innnnn?”
“Coming with me to the party tonight?”
“Yeah!” You shout, throwing your fists in the air and bouncing around in a circle before pulling up in front of him, dropping your excitement and blanking your face. “Yeah, sounds cool, no biggie, if you want, no prob, Bob.”
Dick beams at you, still leant against the counter. “They’re going to love you.”
“You bet your ass they will, Richie!” Your bravado has his expression softening with affection, even as your stomach flips with a sudden and crushing panic. Hiding this, you catch his hand in one of yours and swing them. “I am excited to meet Barbaraaaa.”
He scoffs, rolling his eyes and grinning, before pushing off the counter and dragging you about the store.
“Help me get the damn dog a present, it can be from both of us, obviously,” he says, before muttering. “Dogs birthday party, Jason didn’t get a birthday party last year but the dog does?”
You don’t tell Dick about the guy today. You know he notes the scrawled number on your hand and he smiles a little, but when you don’t mention it, he doesn’t ask.
As you’re walking home, Dick having promised to pick you up later, you stare at your phone.
Debating.
Screw it.
Me: Hi, this is Y/N from the pet store, I didn’t get your name today
You wait ten seconds before shoving your phone into your pocket out of anxiety and instead focussing on tonights hellscape.
You have to make these people love you. You have to!
Ignoring the silence and stillness of your pocketed phone, you instead focus on reviewing what you know about Dicks family.
Surprisingly- little.
Honestly? You barely know anything about them.
Except:
               He has two dads, Alfred and Bruce
               He has four brothers, Jay, Tim, Duke and Damian
               He has two sisters, Steph and Cass.
               He has one not sister, Barbara, also his unrequited love
               He doesn’t have favourites between any of them.
Luckily, as you start up your stoop and your chest starts to heave, your phone vibrates in your pocket.
Unknown Number: I’m Jason
You wait. For something, anything.
After two minutes, you’ve entered your apartment and, phone still in hand, made your way to your closet.
After ten, you’ve set the phone back on your bed and are deciding between a red bodysuit and a yellow crop top.
After twenty, you’re in the shower and anxiously shaving your legs even though you’ve decided to wear long pants.
At the thirty minute mark, out of the shower with your hair wrapped but before you apply moisturiser, you pick up the phone and give in.
Me: What do you do, Jason?
Putting it back down, without much expectation, you pick up the moisturiser once more but pause when the device beeps again.
Jason: I’m a freelancer, mixed martial artist.
Jason: Do you like lunch? Or breakfast food.
You try to grin too wide at the messages. He seems a little… unsure, maybe. You’re into it.
Me: I love lunch, and breakfast- for lunch or breakfast. What do you think about dinner?
You nab your red bodysuit and slip yourself into it, then fight on your favourite pair of pink corduroy pants. Gazing at yourself in the mirror, you frown, look at your closet, frown harder.
No.
“You’re hot.” You growl to your mirror self. “I am hot. And I am loveable and tonight is going to be great and tomorrow you can go out with Jason and kiss that gorgeous face.”
His visage pops up before you, scarred and unusual.
You hope his scars are more innocent than- well, than other scars in this city.
Maybe he got them in the womb, or terrible acne that forms perfect lines.
Oh boy.
Jason: I usually work nights, late, and I’d hate to cut our night short because I need to get to work
Your lips purse.
Oh shit!
Dickard: I’m coming up, you better look hot
Shoving away your awful, awful, just awful realization, you look back up at yourself in the mirror and grimace. Throwing on a light coat of lipstick and a layer of mascara, finishing off the makeup you’d been wandering through while texting with-
No.
Leaping up, you grab your jacket- that guys jacket-
Oh hell, you’re so dumb.
Pushing out every thought to do with night time activities and vigilantes and, worse, villain criminals, you throw on the jacket, put your phone and wallet in the pockets, slip on some shoes and snatch your keys.
“Shit,” you murmur, spinning around and nabbing your perfume from the table and spritzing yourself and the jacket. “Shit, shit, shit.”
Bounding for the door, you wrench it open just as Dick raises his hand to knock. You stare at each other, for a moment, while you pant.
“Running late?”
Shoving Dick backwards into the hall, you lock up behind yourself and turn back to him with a cheesy smile. “Show me your Daddy, Dicky.”
His expression goes blank and you hiss out a breath.
“No. No! Don’t-”
“I think maybe-”
“Oh shut up,” you growl and he laughs, throwing an arm over your shoulders and leading you out of the building. “Y’know, I’ve don’t know that much about your family. Like I know the cast, obviously but you’ve literally never told me where you live, and you’ve never-”
Dick grimaces, and you can tell he’s unsure and maybe embarrassed.
“It’s fine, it’s fine, I’ll figure it out, I doubt they know much about me, anyway!” You laugh, your throat tight and panicked and he offers a weak smile and a quick squeeze.
  “Oh, f*ck me, Dick.” You stare at the gates.
The Gates.
Not to heaven, or arkham, or anywhere so pedestrian, oh no.
“F*cking Wayne Manor, Grayson? As in Dick Grayson, adopted son of Bruce Wayne?”
Dick shrinks in his seat, driving up the lane, since the gates had opened automatically, for him.
“I’m going to kick your god damn ass, Grayson, I’m going to end you, you’re the worst, literally the worst,” the car stops, “you’re so f*cking dead, you dumb bitch, I can’t believe you’ve done this,” your door opens, “and I’m just so excited to meet your family, Dick! Hahaha!”
You take the hand proffered through the car door and rise to come face to face with- shit- Tim Drake.
Recognisable, famous Tim Drake.
“Hi! Dicks brother Tim! He’s so proud of you,” you greet and Tims lips twitch upwards at the sides, though his slightly warm, slightly protocol expression changes little beyond that.
“Welcome, Y/N, Dick’s mentioned you a lot and we’re all so excited to finally meet you. In the flesh.”
You try not to frown at his weird phrasing, only for it to get worse.
“Oh. Did Jason leave his jacket in your car again, Dick?” Tim asks, his gaze moving from the jacket on your shoulders to Dick, who is sidling up beside you.
Jacket. Jay. Jason. Phone number. Freelancer. Night time work.
Shit, shit, shit, please be a coincidence, please be a coincidence. F*cking Dick, f*cking shit, damn, heck.
You smile absently at the pair.
“Oh, no, this one is apparently very similar to Jasons but Y/N has assured me she found it in her building,” Dick assures him, and you look between the two, gauging their reactions.
Tim grimaces, and Dick frowns at him.
A vigilante gave you this jacket. You just got the phone number of a possible vigilante named Jason. Dicks brother Jay is named Jason and he’s got a jacket like this.
Please.
Hell.
You spot others emerging behind Tim, from the gigantic Wayne Manor doors.
Dick’s eyes dart to them and he slings a comforting arm over your shoulders.
“Let’s get in and out of the cold, hey Tim? C’mon, lead the way.” His voice is jovial but he holds you back a second as Tim sends him a look then starts toward the doors. His face tilts toward yours, a soft whisper coming through your hair to your ear. “I’m so sorry, I should have said something sooner, it’s a- it’s hard to explain, you know I’m adopted, we’re all pretty adopted around here and it’s such a difficult situation and its not like I have the greatest relationship with Bruce and- I’m sorry, Y/N, I should have said something sooner.”
The apology brushes over you and you tilt slightly against him, your forehead setting against his shoulder and he presses a kiss onto the top of your head.
“Thanks, kiddo.”
“We’re two years apart, you galumphing oaf.” You growl back, just as you step through the doors and come face to face with a group of people staring at the pair of you.
Your eyes lock on a beautiful red haired woman, her face stark for a long moment as she takes in the pair of you before everything on her face is hidden with a blink of an eye.
Oh crap.
You step out of Dicks grasp, pointedly, and offer a weak smile to the red haired girl. Barbara.
Shit, hell.
Everyone stares at the movement and it takes you a second before you see him.
“Is that Jasons jacket?” A kid asks loudly, Damian, hopefully, but your eyes don’t stray from the man at the back.
Jason from the pet shop.
“Relax everyone,” Dick laughs, his eyes moving from you to Jason and the pair of you stare at the obvious expression on his face. Dicks voice trails off. “It’s not Jasons…”
“Jesus and the Joker,” you gripe, your eyes darting from Barbara to Jason to Dick.
“So this is your jacket?” Dick asks, gesturing to the beat up brown coat on your shoulders. “How’d she get it? How’d you get it?”
Jasons head twitches in a shake, eyes locked on yours and you squint at him.
“No! Jason. Don’t make her lie. How’d this happen? Why’s she still got it?” He glances at the staring group and sighs. “She got it like a week ago.”
“Three days.”
You grit your teeth, glaring at Jason.
“Shall we, everyone, head into the living room? Alfred, dinner?”
Your eyes dart to Bruce Wayne, his voice and face clearly recognisable from several television segments, and you watch as the group silently and with thick tension move single file through a door. Beside Bruce, another man, Alfred, you guess, steps up close to him and murmurs something before Bruce nods.
Beside you, Dick tangles your fingers.
“Hey, best friend?”
Your eyes slide up to his and he offers you a pathetic smile.
“Dick,” you say softly, as the others exit, leaving the pair of you a moment. “Cards on the table, a group of those people who run around at night visited me and then that night you were out with Jay one of them visited again and he gave me his jacket and then he took it back but then he gave it back and then Jason came into the pet shop today before you did and I got his number and I texted him and I realized that hot guy Jason from the store was some kind of vigilante guy because of what he said and now I get here and they’re the same person and your brother Jason is the Red Hood? And he’s running around with other vigilantes who have hair the same as these people we’ve just walked into and please call me crazy, Dick, that I’m a big ol’ loon, please?”
You don’t mess with the f*cked system in Gotham and you certainly don’t get involved with someone involved with the f*cked system.
“I’m Nightwing.” Dick says in a rush. “And kinda Batman.”
Your nose wrinkles as you try not to burst into tears.
Just… One thing after another.
“It’s okay, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Dick pulls you into his chest and you don’t resist. He’s Nightwing but he’s still your Dickie, your platonic soulmate. “I was going to tell you soon, but I know how you feel about all of it and I didn’t want you to hate me or my family before you met them.”
“Dick!” Someone yells obnoxiously before being loudly hushed.
“I didn’t know about this Jason thing, I wish he’d have spoken to me, this is my fault for mentioning you to them.”
You hug him tight before pulling back and shaking out your hair. Pasting on a smile, you beam at your best friend.
“It’s a party, Dick, for a dog, I think we should focus on that for now and hope I haven’t ruined any chance to make Barbara like me.” You laugh half-heartedly, before taking his hand and stepping purposefully toward the doors everyone else waits behind.
Heck this was a heck one like just definitely took a while and quite stressful to write idk what was going on

Satisfied, Part 35

She let Robin turn in the criminal for two different reasons. The main one was the fact that her suit was falling apart by the second and the only reason it hadn’t disappeared already was she was pouring her own energy into maintaining it. The other reason was that the sight of the man made her feel sick; she couldn’t look at him without remembering exactly what she’d done, how he’d looked, and how it made her feel in the moment.
She clenched her fists tightly, letting her nails dig into her gloves as she ducked into an alley.
She brought her hand to her ear.
“Me and Robin are leaving patrols for the night,” she said. Her voice was much harsher than she’d intended. Maybe that was why no one argued.
“Robin and I,” corrected Nightwing.
She took a deep breath, ready to curse him out despite the apparent rule against cursing, but Robin cut her off before she could say anything: “Not the time, Nightwing.”
“Definitely not. I’m behind the building, come find me.”
“What happ --,” began Red Hood, but she turned off her comm.
She let her costume drop.
Tikki fell from her earrings and Marinette had to dive across concrete to catch her. Her elbows and knees were scratched and bleeding, but she couldn’t care as she examined the kwami.
Tikki wasn’t moving.
She felt tears well in the corners of her eyes and she forced them back. Robin would be there soon. She didn’t have the right to cry when he had just --.
A hand rested on her shoulder and she looked up to see him.
She sniffled and gently set Tikki in her bag. She pushed herself to her feet and took him by the arm, dragging him through the streets.
It was a bad idea to go out like this. No one knew who Marinette Dupain-Cheng was, but from the amount of people snapping pictures of her she would be pretty well-known by the end of the week. She found she couldn’t care less.
“What’re we doing?” He asked quietly.
“I’ll tell you when we get there,” she muttered, her grip tightening on his arm.
He didn’t respond, just allowed her to pull him along.
She got to her apartment and practically tossed him inside, slamming the door behind them.
Plagg was sitting on the bed and she rolled her eyes at his disapproving look. The kwami opened his mouth but she beat him to it: “Don’t. Not right now. Just get the ring.”
Robin eyed the god and Marinette, as if he wasn’t yet sure which one he was supposed to be more wary of. She didn’t know if she wanted to take that as a compliment or an insult.
The kwami dropped the ring in her hand and it pulsed with power. A blinding green light emanated from the tiny ring, and both humans had to shield their eyes a little.
She forced it into Robin’s hand before it could mess with her. Having both the ladybug and cat miraculi on hand at the same time was known to corrupt event the most pleasant and mentally stable people. She already had committed a murder. Who knows what she would do.
He frowned as he toyed with the ring. As they watched, the white plastic ring morphed into what looked to be industrial steel.
Marinette smiled tensely. “Congrats, ‘Robin’, you’re now the owner of the cat miraculous.”
Robin tipped his head to the side as he considered it, then shook his head slightly. “I don’t want it.”
“Too bad,” she said. Oh, there was that harsh tone again.
He winced.
She crossed her arms over her chest. “What you did was absolutely stupid and reckless and, unfortunately, that seems to be the main two necessities for getting the cat miraculous.”
Robin raised his eyebrows and set the ring down. “Marinette, I know --.”
“Don’t ‘Marinette’ me! You were dead!”
“And why do you care? I thought you hated me!”
She groaned. “So did I, really. But apparently not! I never react like that! Apparently I care about you, who knew?”
He frowned. “React like what?”
Right. He hadn’t been alive to see what she’d done. She swallowed thickly. “It doesn’t matter.”
He looked like he was going to protest, but she didn’t let him get a word in.
“What does matter is that you’re doing stupid things that are getting you dangerously hurt -- for no real reason, mind you -- and if you’re going to do that then I may as well make sure you’re protected.”
“It’s fine, your yoyo brings everything back to status quo at the end anyways --.”
“Not anymore it doesn’t!”
His eyes widened.
“I need an active cat to maintain balance, and since I’ve been using Tikki for a month now without one, I’m pretty weak. I wasn’t even sure if I could...” She sighed. “I didn’t know if I could do it this time, and now...”
She pulled Tikki from her bag and let him see the kwami, who was still completely immobile.
Plagg darted to the other kwami and took him from Marinette’s grip, sending his guardian a glare as he carried her to the fridge to try and force Tikki to eat.
“But you shouldn’t have been relying on my ability to fix it anyways. It only fixes physical damages, but mental and emotional ones can’t just be taken away.”
He scoffed. “Yeah, I figured that one out for myself, thanks.”
She winced. Not at what he’d said, but at how he’d said it. The slight tremble of his voice, the way his eyes finally looked away from hers for the first time that night, the clenching of his fists. She walked over and, hesitantly, wrapped him in a hug.
He tensed up. “Um...?”
“Just let me have this, please,” she mumbled.
Robin nodded slightly and rested his arms around her.
She concentrated on her breathing. She had a lot of experience dodging negative emotions from her years of fighting Hawkmoth in Paris, she knew strategies to keep them in check. Usually this meant that all she had to do was distract herself. This would be fine.
Or, at least, it would have been if she hadn’t felt Robin bury his face in her hair.
A sob built in her throat as she tugged him closer. She blinked rapidly in an attempt to push her tears back. He was the one in trouble, he was the one who needed help, he...
Was crying.
Her own tears forced themselves to be known. She pressed her face into his chest, bunching up his costume in her hands.
She didn’t know how long they stayed like that; leaning into each other, sobbing over their shared experience, holding onto each other like their lives depended on it. But, eventually, she ran out of tears. Eventually, she felt him relax into her and begin to sleep.
Marinette gently detached herself and set him in her bed. She pressed a kiss to his forehead and went to drink some water. After a bit of considering it, she walked over and set some stuff out on the nightstand and wrote a note.
She sat down at the bedside, leaning against it and closing her eyes.
~
She opened her eyes to shifting behind her and looked over blearily.
Damian was crying silently, his hands covering his mouth to stifle the noise.
She hesitated, unsure if he’d want her help. Still, she reached up and rested her hand on his arm, giving him a gentle squeeze.
He stiffened slightly, then relaxed a bit. They sat there in silence for a while. Him crying, her staring off as she tried her hardest to push the events of the previous night from her mind.
“Marinette?” He whispered. “Are you awake?”
“No,” she mumbled sarcastically.
He gave a laugh, broken and sad as it was. “Right... I’m going to head home.”
“You sure? You don’t want me here to help?”
He rested his hand over hers and gave a gentle squeeze. “I have a dog. Besides, this is your bed.”
She didn’t bother to argue. She knew he was scrambling for an excuse to leave, and she wasn’t going to keep him. You can’t force someone to open up to others, it’ll only make them clam up more. So, she pushed herself to her feet and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
“Okay. Give them a pet for me.”
He gave her a small smile before heading out.
~
Damian smiled awkwardly at her, waving.
The bags under his eyes were extremely prominent and she frowned at the sight of them. Marinette was used to getting only a few hours, but Damian (for the most part) seemed to find time to sleep.
“How’re you feeling?”
“A little better,” he murmured. “And you?”
She winced at the lie on her lips and forced her mouth closed before she could dismiss the question like she wanted to. He seemed to understand anyways.
He reached over and gave her arm a small squeeze.
She looked away. “Does your family...?”
“No, they don’t know. And they won’t. Ever.”
Marinette didn’t know whether this was a good thing. Despite how much she hated it, she knew they should be leaning on others after what had happened the previous night. Still, the idea of telling someone what she’d seen, what she’d done, so soon was enough to make her breath catch in her throat.
She nodded to say she understood and changed the subject: “So, did Plagg explain everything to you?”
"Yep.”
“And?”
He seemed hesitant. “I think I’ll try it. It’s coming time for a new Robin, anyways.”
She nodded and reached into her pocket and pulled out the ring. She’d wrapped it in layer after layer of fabric to make sure she wasn’t tempted, but now it was going to be hard to get it out.
After a bit of digging, Marinette handed over the ring.
He slipped it on his finger.
“Plagg, claws out.”
With a bright flash of light he stood in front of her. She raised an eyebrow at the costume, which was exactly the same as his normal Robin one but this time in black.
“Creative.”
“Shut up,” he muttered, giving her shoulder a shove.
She grinned. “Right, I’m explaining everything to you myself, because Chat Noir had no clue first day even when Plagg tried to help.”
She was going to get lectured about that when Plagg got out, but until then she smiled and tapped the wall of the building.
“This is an abandoned warehouse. I checked to make sure there wasn’t any kids or Rogues, it’s completely empty. Cataclysm it.”
He looked at her like she was insane.
She sighed. “Listen, you’re too powerful right now, especially for a newbie.” She motioned to his costume. “I couldn’t get details in my outfit for about a year, and yet yours is pretty much fully-formed.”
“I’m powerful, so what?”
“It’s not good. If you used cataclysm on something small who knows what would happen. I’d prefer to stop that disaster before it happened.”
He frowned slightly. “But, if that’s the case, shouldn’t we be teaching me to control my powers?”
“We can when you’ve gotten most of the extra stuff out. Right now we’re avoiding a disaster. Sound good?”
He hesitated, his eyes finding their way to the building. “Who does this belong to?”
“It’s completely abandoned, said to be haunted because a guy died there. Legal fees made it shut down, and the people who owned it have been trying to sell it since. If you really care we can reimburse them however much they offered, but really it’s whatever.”
His eyes narrowed slightly. “You’re acting different.”
“Shocker!”
He winced and looked away.
“Sorry. I’m trying, it’s just...” She clenched her fists. “Yesterday was a lot. Doesn’t mean I can take it out on people. Especially not you.”
He nodded softly and raised a hand. “Cataclysm.”
She stepped away from the building to make sure she’d be fine and he pressed his hand to it.
It was gone in seconds. There was no gradual rusting, no time for it to spread. It simply collapsed into dust.
She looked at Damian and smiled faintly at the sight of his costume. It was fading rapidly, until it was back to the suit Cat Noir had used originally.
“Good. Now, we should get you used to your weapon...”
~~~
You know the last chapter was actually supposed to be just fluff of Marinette and Damian bonding but then I thought ‘naaah ive written too much fluff recently’
Damirae - Vet AU
A/N: Hi! Welcome to my page this is my first ever Damirae fanfic, so I hope you enjoy!
-- -- --
“Thank you again for what you did for Titus, Dr. Roth.”
“It’s my job Mr. Wayne. Please stay safe. You be a good doggie, okay Titus? You were the best patient I ever had.” Raven knelt down to pat the great black Dane on his head, he barked at her happily before his owner Damian Wayne click his tongue to signal Titus to follow him. Raven looked up to the young man dressed in a fancy black suit as he gave her a small smile. Both dog and owner exited the clinic.
Not turning her back toward the two girls that worked the reception desk Raven crossed her arms over her chest, “can I ask why his paperwork was thicker than what our patients usually sign after discharge?” Earlier when Raven had come out of the examination room to say her farewell to Titus, she found that Damian was signing off the discharge papers, but he had a bigger stack than what was usually the norm. She eyed the two girls, with a stern look letting them both know she wouldn’t like whatever they were going to say.
“Girl, we all just added some blank papers with a signature box in the bottom for him to sign!” Roxy exclaimed unashamed she cost the young man much valuable time.
“What for?”
Roxy only gave Raven a dumbfounded look, like she couldn’t understand why Raven would be surprised at her actions, “what for? What for? Girl, he is Damian Wayne! Like the hottest, most eligible bachelor in Gotham! His dad is Bruce Wayne, one of Gotham’s multi-millionaire and owns Wayne Enterprises. I can die happy having the chance to be in front of a god like Damian!”
The second receptionist, named Mayra only snickered before looking up to Raven, “don’t mind her Rae, she just one of those crazies calling themselves a member of the ‘Damian Fan Club,’ but seriously you never heard of the Wayne family?”
“I’m not much for social media or newspapers articles, besides the last nine years I have been focusing on completing my veterinary degree.”
“Well now’s a good time to get out then,” Mayra stated, really hinting on the idea that she should get out more.
“Sounds fun, but I rather focus on my patients right now.” Raven said as she left them both to go back into the procedure room and look at the animals they were caring for. She had entered the room and looked through various folders they had on the counter, she found the one belonging to Titus. Raven opened the folder and reread his report for what felt like the hundredth time.
Damian had brought his three-year-old dog in an emergency, Titus was shot during a drive by. The poor young man was devastated that his animal friend had gotten hurt and didn’t know what to do. Raven who was on duty when Damian came in holding Titus in his arms, took Titus from him and reassured she would do everything in her power to care for his dog. Luckily the bullet only managed to graze over the dog’s shoulder. There wasn’t too much damage, all she needed to do was clean the wound to prevent any infection and help him get out of his state of shock. As a precaution Raven held Titus for two nights to observe him and make sure there wasn’t any other dangers. Now three days later Titus got to return home with his master. It warmed Raven’s heart that she was able to reunite them again.
-- -- --
It’s been over a month since Raven met the infamous Damian Wayne. Well Raven hadn’t really spoken to him personally since Titus was discharged. One of the main reasons she kept hearing the young man’s name so often was thanks to Roxy who couldn’t stop talking about him. She would speak of the countless rumors the media had written about him. The girl sounded she was under a love potion of sorts, speaking of her fantasies she had on Damian. Immediately, Raven would leave the lobby of the clinic whenever Roxy would start her fantasizing lectures. To make matters worse Roxy had the audacity to build a small little altar with Damian’s picture cut out from a magazine article with pink hearts doodled around him.Of course, this didn’t bode will with Raven, this was a pet clinic and if their patients ever saw Roxy’s little corner of honoring the young Wayne; let just say they would be losing some credibility that the staff took their job seriously.
Raven was in one of the examinations room, cleaning the counters and all the surfaces to have it ready for their next patient, when she heard Roxy literally scream. “Oh my god!” Raven dashed out of the room as quickly as she could wondering what the hay Roxy was screaming for this time. Thankfully when she reached the lobby room, the clinic was empty, today they didn’t have as many patients as other days. “He’s here!” Roxy squealed.
“What’s wrong with her?” Raven asked, she didn’t care that her voice sounded very irritated at the moment. She wanted to make her point across to her coworker that this behavior wasn’t acceptable at the clinic.
“Damian is back. He is just been standing there for over half an hour.”
“What?”
Mayra who had her arms crossed over the reception desk shot Raven a look before motioning with her head towards the door. “Yeah, I thought he was going to come in and have us check his dog or something since he brought his pooch along. But they are just standing there. See for yourself.”
Raven cautiously moved behind the receptionist counter and shot a quick glance through the glass door to find Damian, leaning up against a light pole looking down at his phone, while his dog sat beside him. Damian was wearing a black turtleneck, paired with a dark grey jeans. God he was very handsome. Raven couldn’t help but continue to stare at the young man, as he glances away from his small screen to kneel before his dog and pet him lightly on his head. A smiled crept up her face when she saw Damian give his dog a most genuine smile, before Titus moved in to lick his master’s face. Raven could see how much the young man loved and cared for his dog. This is why she choice this career, she wanted to be someone to help and care for people’s animals’ companions because these beautiful creatures are part of a family. It brought Raven joy to see Titus was doing well, he will live many years to come along his benevolent master.
Raven sighed and looked back at Mayra and Roxy. “Well pay it no mind, we have work to do. For all we know he could be waiting for someone and that just happens to be the meeting spot.”
“You don’t think he is out on a date?!” Roxy practically yelled; thankfully the glass was thick enough to minimize her cry or else Damian could had heard her.
“Why should we care if he’s out on a date or not? Roxy go back to work and leave the poor man alone.” Raven added.
“As member of the ‘Damian Fan Club’ it’s my responsibility to make sure no harm comes to Damian and make sure whoever becomes his wife is right for him!”
Raven couldn’t believe this girl, she raised an eyebrow at her, “Seriously?”
“She’s serious.” Mayra who was keeping quiet during one of Roxy’s little fangirl phase. “It’s actually a thing. The club exists and all, bunch of crazies like Roxy here that want nothing more than to go to bed with Damian.”
“You witch! We take our role as Damian’s fans very seriously!”
Raven couldn’t help but feel flabbergasted at the little brunette, “Roxy, I have heard you speaking of the fantasies you have about him.”
“Well Raven, we are allowed to dream, aren’t we? Besides I know very well I am not meant for such a handsome prince like Damian Wayne.”
“Go back to work, I am gonna go finish up room 3 and 5. Then check on the animals we have staying overnight.” Raven said as she looked back out the door and found heat creep up to her cheeks when she noticed Damian catch her gaze towards him. Quickly she turned around and walked towards the door that led to the examination rooms.
-- -- --
It was now 6pm and everyone had already left for the day. Raven was busying herself making sure she jotted down any new appointments on her agenda. Afterwards the young vet made her rounds around the kennels. There were a few animals staying overnight at the clinic, she pulled out their files and adjusted them on a shelf organizing so the overnight staff knows which patients needed more attention depending on their case. There was a back door the overnight staff used to enter from. Soon enough Garfield Logan, the supervisor of the night shift had arrived; Raven went ahead and handed him the full reports on their overnight patients. After she discussed what they were monitoring in each of their patients, Raven went inside the staff’s locker room and changed from her work clothes to her civilian clothes. Raven finally called it a night and said her goodbye as she went for the front door with her shoulder bag.
Once exiting, Raven found Damian was still leaning up against the pole, she was grateful he hadn’t noticed her due to the fact he had his gaze pinned to his phone. Though Titus recognized her, as he stood up and started wagging his tail. Raven quickly turned around; locking the glass door, afterwards she then reached for the metal folding security gate and pulled it towards her to lock the clinic. Unfortunately for her, this gate was due for some maintenance and sometimes instead of smoothly sliding along, the bottom part of the gate would always get stuck. Today of all days the damn gate decided to mock her and really give her a hard time as Raven kept tugging the gate; mentally begging it to obey her. She cursed under her breath, giving in to her defeat. Raven pulled out her phone and was about to call Gar to come help her with the damn gate.
“Here allow me to help.”
Her finger was about to press the call option, when Damian stepped from behind her. She looked up to him and just realized how his eyes were a beautiful emerald color, they held so much warmth in them. Damian gave her a soft smile, before handling her Titus’ leash. Raven had to blink a few times to remember where she was before grabbing the leash, as the young man before her stepped up and gave a good hard tug onto the gate sliding all the way across the door. Needless to say, Raven was impressed how strong Damian was, she noticed how his black turtleneck was tight and his tight muscles were begging to be free from the cloth containing them. A light blush managed to creep onto her cheeks at the idea of a shirtless Damian. What was she thinking?! Raven shook her head a couple of times to get these wild thoughts far away from her mind, she then looked up to Damian gesturing with her head to allow passage towards the thick key lock. Damian side stepped, taking back Titus’ leash as he allowed her to open the lock and passing it through the slotted area to secure the gate.
When Raven finally locked the gate, she looked up to the man beside her and gave him a small smile, “thank you, Mr. Wayne.”
“Please call me Damian, Dr. Roth.”
“Then you may call me Raven, what brings you here? Is Titus unwell?” Raven asked as she bend down and patted the dog’s head, he responded back her gesture by licking her hand. His tongue was very ticklish that Raven couldn’t help but giggle, she looked up to find Damian was smiling down at her. She looked away from him when she could feel heat worm it way towards her cheeks, she prayed her face wasn’t flushed that Damian would notice.
“No, he is doing well. Actually…” Raven looked up to find Damian was looking to the sides as he rubbed the back of his neck. It looked cute nevertheless to Raven, she couldn’t help but snicker very silently at the very nervous young man before her. Finally, Damian turned too face her and extended his hand towards her to help her stand up. “I was wondering if we could invite you out to dinner? As a thank you for what you did for Titus. There’s this restaurant down the street that offers outdoor dining… I mean if that’s all right with you and if you aren’t busy tonight?”
“Actually, I had nothing planned for the evening. I would love to join you both.”
- -   - -  - -
That was five years ago when Raven had gone out on her very first date with a guy. The sun was coming up over Gotham’s skyline as she looked out the window thanking the universe for the life she had received. Raven had gotten up just a few minutes before the sun was even up, she was wearing a light blue tank top, with a pair of cotton navy blue very short shorts. Just then she heard a stir come from the bed, Raven turned around to find her husband was moving in his sleep. The covers covering him had slipped down his body, exposing his sculpted chest and abdomen, gosh he was so handsome. He was even more beautiful under the sun’s morning light as it highlighted his perfect face. Even after all this time Raven couldn’t help but blush whenever she saw him naked. Her female coworkers -especially Roxy- at the clinic wouldn’t like to admit it but they were jealous that the fact Raven didn’t even try but manage to bag Gotham’s most eligible and hottestbachelor.
Closing her eyes, Raven turned around again to stare out the window as she continues to hear Damian stir in his sleep. Still keeping her back turned she could hear him groining and moving the sheets to the side as he steps closer to her. Damian walks behind her, placing his strong muscular arms around her waist, then pecks her on her cheek before resting his chin on her shoulder. “Good morning Mrs. Wayne,” he says into her ear as Damian begins to trail the tip of his tongue along her neck down her shoulder, just the way Raven liked it. She couldn’t help but blush at how he addressed her. They been married for over two years and she still felt like their relationship was still new to her, exactly like how she felt five years ago. “How long have you been up?”
“Mm…not too long,” Raven answered him as she turned to face her husband and wrap her arms around his neck. She looked him up and down seeing he was only wearing his black cotton boxers’ briefs. Raven then met his emerald gaze she was so entranced with. He gave her a warm smiled before leaning in and placing his lips softly onto hers.
The kiss was soft much like their first kiss, when Damian had come to her apartment to pick up Titus after she dog-sat for him while he was away on a business trip. He was acting very nervous and after being decline of receiving the payment he was offering Raven for her service. He muttered something under his breath in another language and leaned forward to steal her first kiss. Afterwards Damian confessed to having feelings for her since the moment they met and asked if she would give him a chance. Raven answered him she started developing feelings for him as well, before she could say anything more Damian captured her lips once again. One thing led to another that they made love to each other that night. Since then Raven knew she wanted nothing more than to spend her life with Damian.
Now coming back to the present Raven pulled away from their kiss and lightly trail her fingertips over his bare chest; tracing a scar that was over his heart. Damian mentioned to her that as a child his grandfather would make him train day and night just to teach him self-defense. Some trainings were very brutal that most of his scars came from his own grandfather’s hand. It saddened Raven the least to know Damian has been hurt by members of his own family. All she could do for her husband now was kiss his healed scars and hope any painful memories could be covered by her love for him.
Raven wrapped her arms around his waist, then buried her face onto his hard chest; slowly pushing Damian towards their bed. When he was stopped by the foot of their bed, Raven let go and took a small step back before pushing Damian to fall on the mattress. Her husband sat up giving her a sly smirked she so loved. Raven then moved closer to him swaying her hips very seductively. She placed her hands on her hips before finding the waistband of her shorts, Raven never once let her amethyst gaze leave her partner’s emeralds. Keeping her movements very slowly Raven pulled down her shorts. Stepping out of them she walked over to Damian who reached for her waist and bringing his wife down onto his lap. Raven rested her knees on either side of his hips, she then gave him a devilish smile before she pulled her tank top off, now only wearing her cobalt blue lace undergarments before him. Raven could see Damian’s eyes were filled with hunger and desire, he started trailing hot messy kisses just beneath her collarbone. Lightly leaving bite marks to signify she belonged only to him, which Raven didn’t mind at all. Damian then lightly started kissing the top of her plump bosom, she knew she was playing with fire when she was seducing him a few seconds earlier now as punishment Damian was teasing her. Raven didn’t know how much longer she could last.
“I love you beloved,” Damian whispered as he continues to caress her skin with his lips. His hands were running circles on her bare back, before resting and gripping her hips.
Raven let out a moan, before grabbing either side of her husband’s face having his emeralds looking into her amethysts. “I love you too, Damian.” She said softly as she pulled his face to have their lips meet once more. Raven felt an immense happiness consumed her as she shared these moments with her husband. She thanked whatever universe or destiny had made their paths crossed five years ago.
She couldn’t imagine her life differently.
A/N:
Hello!! If you reached this far first all… THANK YOU!!! I found many amazing completed fic and ongoing fics here on tumblr and wanted to try my hand with my own ideas to show my love for Raven and Damian. I am currently writing two other fics for a separate fandom but will probably start sharing one-shots of Damirae here on tumblr. I have a couple Damirae fics that are on the longer side, those will be posted on my Wattpad page under my user: s03Rose .Those fics are still in development because they will have a plot line to follow so when I get halfway the storyline I will post little snippets here.
On the side note, I started writing fics for my own enjoyment because I want to be a writer, I have original ideas already started but first things first I must practice my writing to see first if it makes sense and if it’s entertaining to read. Also this was my first ever writing a fic filled with some small ‘smut’, I read fics that were on the mature side and wanted to try my hand at writing these sort of scenes. Again I am no good but practice will aid me. I don’t know when I will upload another Damirae fic since I have work and other ongoing personal projects. Please bear with me but do know I will try to update every second week. Till next time!
Halloween AU (Kinda)
I made this a few months back and completely forgot about it, maybe I’ll finish it next year or something, but as of right now I’m done with it. Note: it’s not edited so everything is lowercase and there may be spelling mistakes.
“this is a spectacular party, isn’t it damian” olivia garcia, the daughter of gotham’s mayor, asked the young man. bruce had taken it upon to host a halloween party. he claimed that it was for fun, but considering that he wasn’t even there, damian suspected that it was for something else. even though he had been living with the titans for awhile now, and he had grown quite a bit from the demon brat he was when he first came to the manor, he still lacked basic social skills. even raven, a child who was raised by monks that kept her away from society, could interact with teenagers better.
it had become apparent to people that damian wayne wasn’t much of a talker, except to teenager girls apparently. when donna had first arrived at titans tower, she had found damian in the training room and tried to have a conversation with him. of corse he was cold and gave curt replies so after a while she gave up. she attempted to do this a few more times until she got the memo. that was until kori had raven help donna with her flight. although the amazon warrior had made impressive improvements since being with the titans, her flying was still a bit weary.
as the end of their session came she noticed damian standing on the roof watching them, waiting. he wasn’t in uniform, rather a red hoodie with black jeans, and had a slightly less than medium sized dog by his side, with a leash in his hand. as donna and raven descended down she greeted him with a wave and bright smile. he nodded at her in acknowledgement before turning to raven
“i was planing on taking titus on a walk, would you like to join?” he asked the demoness, raising an eyebrow. looking at the dog for a moment she nodded. “just give me a minute to change” she said walking pass him. donna found the integration strange. mainly because she he had attempted to cut off garfields hand when he first tried to pet him. now he was asking someone if they wanted to take him on a walk with him. smiling, donna decide to heed her mentors advice about metalling in people’s lives. so she sat back and watched as the two birds danced around each other.
yes, it seemed that most teenage girls just didn’t understand that he liked his space. either that, or they knew and wanted to get in his pants. so here he was, with olivia by his side the entire night. she had came dressed up as a black cat, but at this point damian had seen twenty black cats. he was dressed as an angel, at the request of dick. jason found it ironic that the demon spawn was dressed as one, and honestly he found it a little funny too.
after not getting a response from him, she decided that she would leave his side for a bit, and hang out with a boy in a karate gi, in attempt to make him jealous. another girl had came up to him, asking him if he wanted to fuck. quickly realizing she was drunk -jason had brought drinks- he helped her find a place to sit and handed her a bottle of water. it was then that he felt a hand wrap around his shoulder, stiffening a bit before realizing who it was.
“how’s it going amigo” jaime asked. the older teen was dressed as a mummy. “fine” damian replied. “are any of the others here” he asked looking around. “yeah, they’ll be here in a second. the girls went to the washroom and gar’s by the snack table” he said, pointing to a man in a joker costume. garfield loved halloween, but there was only so many costumes one could use when he was green. the white face paint helped cover his skin so it was logical decision on his part.
as he looked back at jaime he realized he was no longer alone. beside him was a young girl with pale skin. her black hair grown to shoulder length and down, her violet eyes staring at him with a smile, even if her face was blank. this was a sight he had seen time and time again, although he doubt he would ever get tired of seeing raven. however, it was her costume that had shocked him.
she had a headband with devil horns on it. a red dressed hugged each and every one of her curves and stopped around mid thigh. red heels giving her an inch or two of height. looking at her up and down, he couldn’t help the blush that was forming on his face, glad that it was too dark to see it.
“what are you supposed to be” damian asked her, his tone monotone not giving up his real desires. coming up behind her, donna -who was dressed up as a cheerleader- answered for her. “she’s a demon, duh” she said pointing to raven’s horns. turning her head to the youngest wayne she smiled while raven sighed. “i lost a bet” she said flatly. “you? losing a bet? i find that hard to believe” the current robin said in disbelief. the small raise of he mouth let him know that she agreed with him. “tip of advice, amazonian food is worse than tamaraian” the empath told him.
noticing the way she was hugging herself damian came to two possible conclusions. she was cold, which was unlikely in the stuffy, sweaty room; or that she was uncomfortable. “are you okay” he shouted over the blaring music. “you look uncomfortable” “i am uncomfortable” the purple eyed girl responded. he felt a pull at his heart strings for her. he didn’t like that she was uncomfortable, but there wasn’t much he could do. he was damian wayne, robin, an al guhl, there was rarely ever a time that he felt powerless. but looking at the girl who had captured his heart long ago he was upset that there was nothing he could do for her.
they had talked for a few more minutes until donna had pulled raven to the snack table. amazons became pretty aggressive when they drink and always needed someone to stop them, so who better then a demon. as he watched the girls walk away he grabbed a beer. “damn...” he heard a vice behind him say. turning around he looked at grant and chris, seniors that he went to school with.
“you know her” grant asked. “i know both of them” he responded, taking a sip of his beer. “man, could you hook us up with them, we’ll like, do your homework” chris offered.
If you’re curious in what was suppose to happen.
Raven, who had drinked a little too much, would have been dared to go up and either hug or kiss Damian. He would have helped her like the gentleman he is, and then say “I though we agreed not to do anything in front of the others?”
