Don’t Want To Miss
“Jesus knew what they were saying, so He said, “Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don’t you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in?” Mark 8:17NLT
Where are our hearts’ understanding in discerning the times we’re in? Are we blind spiritually to what’s going on around us? Can it be that our spirit’s are dulled and deadened by all the evil and corruption to the point of losing sight to the truth of God’s promises? Is it possible we’re the last day repeats of the Israelites? I don’t want to be hardhearted. Do you?
Yahweh promised— “…the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea” Habakkuk 2:14ESV. The sea is ALL water. We have this promise God is going to blanket ALL the earth with His glory. Will His church miss it? Could she possibly mistake His glory as the Pharisees mistook Him. In our text scripture because their hearts were hard, even His disciples missed His deity while watching all of the miracles He’d did.
The disciples were acting like their predecessors, Exodus 40:34AMPC “Then the cloud [the Shekinah, God’s visible presence] covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle!” These Israelites SAW the Lord’s Presence with their own eyes. V38 “…throughout all their journeys the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.”
Israelites looked out their doors— ‘yep His Presence is still here. We’re not traveling today.’ He’d brought them out of Egypt with all the Egyptian’s wealth, equal to billions of dollars in today’s money, all the Egyptian clothes— they wore those clothes for forty years, everything luxury Egypt had. Then God took them through the Red Sea on dry land— now that’s with around three million people, animals, and all of Egypt’s stuff. Afterwards, He drowned the Egyptian Army in their sight. Brought water out of a rock, not a spring or river, a rock. Try that once.
Where did their hearts turn? Unbelief that He was on their side; would take care of them; always whining and wanting more, or desiring to be like their evil neighbors. (Sound like anyone today?) Those Israelites needed Him more than air, but didn’t have any faith He could give them the Promised Land. Instead that entire unfaithful generation died, missing what they were promised.
When Yah put these scriptures together for me, I cried out, ‘God wake me up! Keep me awake! I don’t want to miss Your glory like the Pharisees missed Jesus, like the Israelites missed the promised land. Forgive my hard heart. Soften my heart by Your Spirit in me. Don’t allow me to be a last day repeat of the Israelites who left Egypt.
Do we have stiffened necks? Is it possible our hearts are too hard to joyfully experience or acknowledge the time of His visitation? We don’t want to hear Jesus say to us as He did to Jerusalem, “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.” Luke 19:42NLT, especially knowing we’re about to fast forward into the tribulation.
Are you so sure of your theology that you’re willing to miss His glory’s arrival, Holy Spirit’s fire and glory? I am not too sure of my theology to risk it. It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Almighty God please cause our hearts to be filled with Your faith. We need you to take us through to victory in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Exodus 34: God Gives Moses His Laws to Rewrite on the Two New Stone Tablets
1 The Lord said to Moses, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. rewrite
2 Be ready in the morning, and then come up on Mount Sinai. Present yourself to me there on top of the mountain.
3 No one is to come with you or be seen anywhere on the mountain; not even the flocks and herds may graze in front of the mountain.”
4 So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the Lord had commanded him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands.
5 Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord.
6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,
7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
8 Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped.
9 “Lord,” he said, “if I have found favor in your eyes, then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”
10 Then the Lord said: “I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.
11 Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.
12 Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you.
13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.
14 Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
15 “Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.
16 And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.
17 “Do not make any idols.
18 “Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Aviv, for in that month you came out of Egypt.
19 “The first offspring of every womb belongs to me, including all the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock.
20 Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem all your firstborn sons.
“No one is to appear before me empty-handed.
21 “Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.
22 “Celebrate the Festival of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Festival of Ingathering at the turn of the year.
23 Three times a year all your men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord, the God of Israel.
24 I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your territory, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the Lord your God.
25 “Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Festival remain until morning.
26 “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God.
“Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.”
27 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”
28 Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.
The Radiant Face of Moses
29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.
30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.
31 But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them.
32 Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai.
33 When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.
34 But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded,
35 they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.

Circula DiveSport Titanium: A Testament to Quality and Affordability
Circula DiveSport Titanium: A Testament to Quality and Affordability
The Circula DiveSport Titanium, a timepiece that hails from Germany, is a testament to the historic brand’s commitment to quality and affordability. The watch, which boasts a hardened titanium case, 500m water resistance, a Sellita SW-200 movement, and a textured dial, surprisingly falls under the $1,000 price range, a value proposition that’s hard to ignore. 5.] Dissatisfied/Embittered/Resentful
[B]  These are people like what Cynthia Heimel was        describing. These are people who got the things        they thought it was in & it wasn't in the things!
There are at least 4 ways of responding to that..
First of all, C.S. Lewis speaks about some of that in his BBC Radio talk & his book: [25:50]
[1] Some people in this category get successful & they       find they are unhappy, and they are sure the real       problem was: "I need to get another set of things"
So I got married, I'm not nearly as satisfied as I       thought, so I need another spouse. [26:14]
So I got this great career, I made this amount of       money, but I'm still not all that satisfied so I will       probably need to make twice as much money!
Ah C.S. Lewis calls these the fools. [26:26]
He says they are fools because they're a nuisance       to most people actually. [26:31]
He says an awful lot of bored celebrities & wealthy       people are like this, and that is they got everything       they thought would make them happy.
They are unhappy so they just keep discarding the       old thing & trying to find the new thing. If I just get       the right new things, then I'll get it!
      He calls those the fools.
[2] There is a 2nd group of people, who get successful       & find that they are unsatisfied; & I call them the       spiritualizing group. They have decided that their       mistake was, thought they were going to find IT in       material things, like money/sex/power.
And instead they decide, I'm going to find my IT       [my satisfaction] in more spiritual things, so I'm       going to work for a better world.
or I'm going to work for social justice, or I'm going       to help the poor, or you know I'm going to work on       meditation. I'll get to that in a minute.
There are some people who might say,
"Well my problem was I thought that success was       everything, so I'm just going to become a better       person. I'm going to start helping people, I am       going to start doing all these things.
By the way, that will not make you frankly all that       happy either because it's hard work to do. [27:40]
It is very draining to do that,       it is not satisfying to do that.
[3] A 3rd kind of person who gets success & finds that       it has not satisfied them. They are the despairing       people, they are the people that kill themselves,       or hurt themselves, or cut themselves. [27:59]
Quite a few people who think that they are going       to find IT in things, & they find they got the things       they thought IT was in & they don't find it there,       some of them just give up. [28:08]
[4] But lastly under this category, this is where most       people I think go. [28:15]
In a place like NYC, where a lot of people have       been successful & they find that they haven't       found that satisfaction. What they do is  they       harden themselves. [28:23]
What they do is they say, "There is no IT! And       these deep desires of mine are just illusions,       they're just illusions!" [28:35]
I think C.S. Lewis actually describes this person in his radio talk, I think he says something like this. If I can remember correctly, this is the self-talk of a person like this:
"Well of course one feels like that when one    is young, but by the time you get to my age    you've given up chasing the rainbow's end."
And Lewis says, "So this kind of person settles down, learns not to expect much out of life & represses the part of himself that used to as he would say, [29:14]
   'cry for the moon.'"
Now on the one hand, a person like that become very condescending. On the other hand, a person like that becomes very hard. [29:23]
You see, if you decide: "Look I wanted so much out of life, but I was crying for the moon, I'm wiser now, I'm more sophisticated now.
You know:
   •  Romance never gives you much.    •  Money never gives you much.    •  Everybody is on the take.
You know nothing really satisfies!"
So you harden yourself, and you become cynical & you become sophisticated. [29:44]
And to a degree it works, but there are two things that are really really bad about that:
[1] You become a remarkable snob, you are so self-       righteous at anybody who still thinks life has       meaning. You look down your nose at them.
You become a stuck up prig. [30:03]
[2] But here's the other thing, which is even worse,       you're hardening a part of your heart that makes       you human: To long for love, to long for meaning       to long for satisfaction & fulfillment--is part of       what makes you human! [30:20]
And by repressing that part, by rolling your eyes at everybody whose idealistic--you have actually hurt yourself pretty badly. [30:32]
You've actually destroyed the part of you that makes you a human being & not an animal. [30:36]
   •  Animals just operate on instinct.    •  Human being have aspirations.

I'll never lose my easy laugh
No matter how many times
The people I love so much
Break my heart,
My humor remains,
To pick me up.
And I'll never lose the kindness
Built carefully within my heart
Even when it's hard to be
I will never,
Ever
Let you take the pieces of me
I spent so long to build.
You cannot win.
I will never let you break me
And make me someone Im not.
