Just got to thinking about things and realized my brother and I were in the local newspaper as kids, we’ve met 2 different news reporters, I had James from Royal Pirates respond to my question during his Instagram live once, and the Harlem Globe Trotters came to my elementary school when I was probably between 2nd and 4th grade (and I have a copy of one of their signatures).

The Globetrotters originated on the south side of Chicago on January 30, 1926, where all the original players were raised. The Globetrotters began as the Savoy Big Five, one of the premier attractions of the Savoy Ballroom opened in January 1928, a basketball team of African-American players that played exhibitions before dances due to declining dance attendance. In 1928, several players left the team in a dispute. That autumn, those players, led by Tommy Brookins, formed a team called the "Globe Trotters" and toured southern Illinois that spring. Abe Saperstein became involved with the team as its manager and promoter. By 1929, Saperstein was touring Illinois and Iowa with his basketball team called the "New York Harlem Globe Trotters". Saperstein selected Harlem, as part of their name since Harlem was considered the center of African-American culture at the time and an out-of-town team name would give the team more of a mystique. The Globetrotters did not play in Harlem until 1968, four decades after the team's formation. Many famous basketball players have played for the Globetrotters. Greats such as "Wee" Willie Gardner, Connie "The Hawk" Hawkins, Wilt "The Stilt" and Chamberlain, and Nat "Sweetwater" Clifton went on to join the NBA. The Globetrotters signed their first female player, Olympic gold medalist Lynette Woodard, in 1985. The Globetrotters have featured thirteen female players in their history. What about the movies the boo brothers is amazing and ghoul school is a master piece a work of art is you will

All this to say appreciate scooby doo and all it is because it is the greatest piece of media in my life at the moment and yes this is my opinion don't come for me it's just too great to not appreciate

Does anyone remember the series “The New Scooby Doo Movies?”

In it Scooby and the gang crossed over with various celebrities and fictional characters like The Harlem Globe Trotters, Dick Van Dyke, Batman and Robin, and Josie and the Pussycats.

You know who needs a show like that (who appeared in The New Scooby Doo Movies themselves)? The Addams Family. We are all constantly talking about seeing the Addams family interact with the Batfamily or The O’Connells, or Harry Potter or any other franchise so why have they not done this.

Harlem Globetrotters x UNDRCRWN

New York-based heritage basketball label UNDRCRWN as led by designer Kari Cruz, has announced plans for a collab with the legendary Harlem Globe Trotters. The capsule highlights the team’s storied history whil also shining a light on Olympic gold medalist Lynette Woodard with the Lynette fleece hoodie and sweatpants. Woodard is the first woman to play for the Globetrotters, making her the first woman to compete on a men’s professional basketball team.

The first all Black professional sport team, the Harlem Globe Trotters were established in 1926. Cruz previously worked with the team in 2021 as the designer behind their on-court uniforms.

Commenting on the effort, Cruz stated, “I am truly honored to represent women in sports and design with this collection. The Globetrotters have always innovated. It’s an iconic team that set out to break racial and gender barriers. And I’m grateful to build upon the legacy of their brand and tell women’s stories, like Lynette’s, in the process.”
