Harley Quinn x Poison Ivy short story
(This is old!)
"No, no, no, no! Ugh!"
She yells and throws her self back on her bed. Harley had spent the day trying to plan a date for her and her girlfriend, but most ideas wouldn't work. She couldn't buy her a bouquet, the flowers would die and Ivy would be upset. She couldn't buy her a puppy or kitten, Ivy didn't like animals as much as Harley did. Seeds for plants? No, she did that last year and Ivy still hadn't used them. Dinner? No, Ivy was picky about food, and most places wouldn't allow them inside, and places that do usually resulted in a fight between villains. Chocolates? Maybe, but that's not much of a gift. She let out a frustrated noise and put her hands over her face.
"Why is she so hard to shop for?!"
She groans and sits up, hunched over as her eyes scanned the room for ideas. Movie night? Neither of them had many good movies, and all of the ones she owned they had watched multiple times, and Ivy liked horrors more than romances. Then her eyes landed on one of the plants Ivy had given her, and some ideas sparked in her head.
"Oh! I know!"
She grins and stands up, going over to a gardening catalog. She hummed to her self as she went through the pages, folding the pages that had items she thought Ivy would like. She soon got dressed and went out, heading to the closest gardening shop. They only had 1 out of the 8 items she wanted; it was going to be a long day.
She spent the next three hours going from shop to shop, finally getting all the items she had seen in the catalog, she headed to an exotic plant shop. She hadn't heard of most of the plants there, but she recognized some of the plants from Ivy's place. She grabbed one of Ivy's favorites, and then some plants she had never seen before. She called one of her friends and told them to keep Ivy out of her house for a couple of hours, and after some minor arguing they agreed.
"This is so exciting~!"
She squeals and starts heading for Ivy's place, humming a tune to her self as she skipped, holding various plants in her arms and bags of tools on her arms. She had spent well over $500, but she didn't care if it made ivy smile. It was almost dark by the time she arrived at Ivy's. She used the key she gave her and unlocked the door, heading inside. She set the plants down on a table, putting little bows on the pots that held them. She got out some of the boxes she bought and put the tools inside, wrapping them up and setting them in front of the plants. She headed out and went to another store, buying various items to try and make dinner for the two, and to decorate the apartment. Once she got back she started the dinner, making a very..odd, meal with random ingredients she knew her girlfriend liked, and while it cooked she decorated the apartment, putting up heart decorations every where. Once she finished the dinner and decorating she set the dinning room table with a blanket, mix matched candles, mix matched silverware and mix matched dishes, and put the food onto the middle of the table, covering it to keep it warm. She texted her friend and told them to bring Ivy home.
As Ivy headed up the stairs to her apartment she muttered in irritation, this guy friend of Harley's dragged her around the city, pointing at objects and telling her about them, and then suddenly said they had to go and left her. On top of that, it was their anniversary, and she hadn't been able to get Harley a gift, and the friend wouldn't leave her alone so she couldn't get it. She just hoped Harley would understand. As she entered her apartment, she noticed that the smell was off; was that the smell of food? It smelled like a bunch of spices and soup, along with her plants-
As she flipped on the light she almost jumped back as she seen Harley sitting on the couch, in a rather short, but beautiful dress, grinning at her. She felt a smile spread across her face as she closed the door and headed over to her blonde girlfriend, wrapping her arms around her
"What are you doing here? And what's that smell?"
She gave a small hum and turned her gaze away from her girlfriends beautiful blue eyes, to the..interesting set up on the table. Their eyes met again
"You..made me dinner?"
She gave a slight head tilt, one of her hands gently twirling some of Harley's blonde hair, who gave an excited nod, a smile appearing on her face again
"And I got you some gifts!"
She excitedly bounced on her heels, heading over to the table to uncover the dishes. Ivy felt a pang of guilt hit her, and her own smile faltered
"Harls..I didn't have time to get you anything-"
She started to talk, her eyes drifting to the ground before returning to meet blue ones
"It's alright! You can tomorrow!"
She gave a happy hum and grinned at her girlfriend, who gave a small sigh of relief before sitting at the table. Harley sat across from her and served them both the food, then took a huge bite. Her face got red and she started coughing, then spit it out. She continued to cough and struggled to drink her glass of water, while Ivy just stared at her with love.
"Eheh, maybe I should go order a pizza-"
she gave a nervous smile, while Ivy gave a small nod.
"While I do that you can open your gifts!"
She jumps up from her seat and drags the table of gifts closer to Ivy, then walks to the end of the room and calls the pizza place. Ivy's eyes widened a little as she looked at all the gifts. She got a faint smile and began to unwrap the times, tears coming to her eyes as she did so. Although she had a few of these gardening tools already, she still loved them. She turned her gaze towards the plants and let out a small laugh as her hand gently reached out and touched the leaf of her favorite plant. Harley knew her so well, it made her feel like a bad girlfriend; but then again, they were only together a year now, they still had alot to learn about each other. She turns her gaze away from the plants and to her little blonde girlfriend, who was happily skipping back over to her. She pulled Harley into her lap and nuzzled her neck, causing her to burst out laughing
"T-that tickles!"
She laughs and squirms, then turns her body to face Ivy, who had a loving look on her face, which caused Harley's face to turn pink. They shared a quick kiss before Harley got up and started to clean up the dishes, while Ivy set her plants up under the lights they needed and watering them.
Although it wasn't a 'perfect' day, it was a perfect day to them.
