Plot: The soldiers’ attitude forces your father to make a decision, and you finally see an end to your engagement. Only that, when presented with the chance, you’re not so sure.

Warnings: mentions of the last chapter harrasment, death and blood.

Thankfully, his brothers weren’t far.

They never were when it was necessary, and that time wasn’t different. Ubbe was getting more worked up with each step, watching you try to get away from him. You didn’t listen, you never did. And that was something he hated about you. Because even if it felt nice to listen to other opinions, and you were kind of funny sometimes, it led to situations like that.

He had seen every look they gave you, had heard every word they said. Judging by how you looked down and said nothing, he guessed it wasn’t the first time. Ubbe knew you could outrun him anytime, and even put up a good fight against any of those men. But they were too many and it was too crowded, so he ended up catching you.

He watched as a nameless soldier tore your skirt, as he gripped your hair. He watched proudly as you kicked him in the face and tried to move on. And before he could develop more any of the feelings bubbling in his blood, he reached your side just in time to watch the soldier try and hit you.

That punch came from the bottom of his heart, where he kept locked any feelings towards the weeding, you and your presence. He knocked the man to the ground while his brothers took you between them.

When the rest of the soldiers noticed Ubbe, they all stopped cheering and became quiet.

Only the sound of bones hitting flesh could be heard.

“Ubbe” Hvitserk was on him suddenly, as the prince knelt in front of the unconscious soldier. “Ubbe, stop. It’s enough. It’s over”

He couldn’t stop, because if he did, he would have to face the situation. That his soldiers, the army he had raised in battle, where willing to do that to a woman. To you. He didn’t know what to feel apart from anger and disappointment, so he punched him once more.

“Ubbe. She’s fine”

When Sigurd put an arm on his shoulder, he finally stopped, looking at his brother. Blinking, he saw himself reflected in those blue eyes, that they all shared.

Hvitserk helped him get up and dragged him away from the unconscious soldier. No one helped him, not even the ones who were cheering with him moments ago. If he was lucky, he would be dead by then. If not, only a worse fate waited for him.

Ubbe turned around and saw you, with your ripped dress and stained cheeks, looking at him already. There was no disgust on your face, not fear, just a deep sadness that had you chocking back sobs.

Covering your mouth and nose with a shaky hand, you looked to the ground, your whole body shaking with silent cries. He guessed the soldier was dead, as no one would meet his eyes. Ubbe felt his split knuckles, the blood on his naked chest and face. Rubbing a tired hand across his face, he took a step towards you and nodded to Hvitserk. Without saying anything, the prince disappeared into the crowd to call for a servant.

They would clean the mess, they always did. And after hearing a few complaints from her mother, it would all end.

Thinking about her only made him angrier, so he tried to avoid it. Of course, she would try to something like that. Maybe not to the extent of you getting hurt or someone getting killed, but to make Ubbe realize others looked at you. Saw you.

“Come on” he spoke through gritted teeth, turning you away from the crowd.

That time, there were no inappropriate names or comments, no spits on the ground or laughs. Ubbe grabbed both of your shoulders and turned you around, away from the people. Everyone moved to let you through, and for some reason, he kept one of hands on you shoulder.

He hated how the peaceful, relaxed training had been stopped, but he couldn’t blame you. Not when he knew that it was his mother’s doing, when he knew it was her way of paying him back for not being at the port the previous day.

For the past year, he had been a witness of her mother’s low patience. She didn’t like you or your father more than Ubbe himself, but the longer he was unmarried, the less control she had on the castle. With Ragnar slowly drifting away and Ubbe taking more responsibilities, she had been relegated to a back-up plan. He was old enough to rule on his own, with or without a bride, and his mother hadn’t made an effort to fall on his good side during the years.

So, her last resource was controlling you and having access into your marriage. Or, at least, rushing the wedding and making sure she still had influence to control it.

“I can take it from here” you broke him out of his thoughts once you went back into the gardens, moving away from his hand. “Thank you”

“I’m not leaving you alone”

He could, and he should. A king’s value was built on respect, and he needed his army to understand that Ubbe didn’t tolerate that type of behavior. Not against any woman, especially if that woman were you. He had to deal with them and could only rely so much on his brothers, but he didn’t want you.

And the fact that you wanted him to leave only made him want to stay.

“I’m perfectly capable of – “you stopped to take a deep breath, blinking fast to stop the tears. “Of taking care of myself. You can go”

“Not so capable, it seems” he scoffed. “Why didn’t you listen to me? All of this could have been avoided if you waited”

“Waited for what? For my betrothed to walk me back to my chambers, because I can’t even do that much alone? That much I can still do on my own”

“And look at how well it ended”

You didn’t say anything else, just bit your inner lip to stop another sob. He watched you try and hold it together, and felt bad because he had no idea how to comfort you. Ubbe had caused you more tears than anyone else, and for each one you shed, he had cried two. Because that was your relationship.

Not you crying because something he hadn’t done.

Without saying anything else, you turned back and made your way to the chambers. Yours, his, or whoever they belonged now.

He followed you trying not to look at your ruined dress and with his arms crossed, so he didn’t feel the temptation of fixing your hair.

“It is unacceptable, Ragnar! Unacceptable! You thank your son that – that blockhead is dead because if he wasn’t you’ll have my army knocking on your door by night time!”

Your bad luck proved to be abiding when, before you reached your rooms, your father found you. He had been looking for you apparently, as he felt responsible for the previous night argument, where you begged once more to go back home. Instead of finding you asleep or doing needle work, like you were expected to, he found you crying openly with your dress torn, a shirtless Ubbe behind you.

It was easy to forget that you were the daughter of a powerful king, when you spent nights taking care of him and were treated like a rag doll in Mercia. But you were, and in moments like that, your father proved his worth.

After taking his sword out in front of Ubbe and a rushed explanation, he had demanded an urgent meeting with Ragnar. By midday, you found yourself sitting in a velvet chair, in a room you hadn’t seen yet – the king’s personal chambers – with a new dress. Ubbe had changed too, and was standing next to his own father, in silence.

“I’ve been over indulgent with you, and you know it. Not showing up until now, turning away from the comments of other kingdoms. I was even willing to let the chambers situation pass” Ecbert pointed an angry finger at Ragnar. “But I will not stand here and watch my daughter be assaulted in your goddamn house! Where we are supposed to be estimated guest, not common peasants!”

“My friend, she couldn’t be – “

“Give a good reason not to go back to Wessex and call everything off” he ignored Aslaug, who was standing in a corner. “I’ve been more than patience, but I will not allow anything like this happen again”

The room was silent as both kings stared at each other. Even if your father was older, Ragnar looked worse. He had shaved all his hair, grown an untamed, long beard and had all but given up on appearance. Two kings that used to be big but now were withering away in their own way.

You looked down, because that was what you had always wanted. For something to happen that forced any of the parts to break the agreement. You had tried, both Ubbe and you had, but it just didn’t work.

Ragnar got up leaning against the table, and walked towards your father. They started at each other in silence, trying to come up with a solution. Because while Mercia only faced the indiscipline of a soldier, Wessex had been attacked. Back home, your dignity and integrity were worth wars, and what had happened that morning called for retaliation.

The only possible solution was breaking the engagement and go back to Wessex, or reach a peaceful agreement. You looked at Ubbe, who didn’t meet your eyes.

Part of you was glad he had reacted the way he did, but you knew the burden of guilt was on his shoulders. Maybe he didn’t know the man, maybe he did. Either way, he would have died sooner or later. And if he was still alive, your kingdom would be responsible and owner of his fate.

You were glad, because at least it had been quick.

“I’m sorry, Ecbert. I really am. What happened today is unacceptable and denigrate. My wife shouldn’t have left Y/N alone, and she will apologize, I can promise you that” Ragnar said. His voice echoed the room and Aslaug looked away, not expecting the blame on her. “But I beg you, for all our years of friendship, not to jump to a decision. Let us talk about this. There will be a hunting raid soon – “

“We have been humiliated and degraded since we came here. Why weren’t you at the port, Ragnar? What was so important that you couldn’t spare a morning to meet an old friend?”

“It’s been difficult times. I will tell you about them. Wait a week, until the hunting raid” Ragnar placed a hand on your father’s shoulder, and instantly his body relaxed. “Please”

Then, Ragnar looked at you, and you felt frozen in your seat.

Your relationship with Ragnar had changed through the years. At the beginning, he had humored your witty and attitude, winking at you when your father scolded you. When you were left in your rooms to think, he would casually walk by with a new book you had never seen. And when Ubbe and you got into a bad fight, he only laughed and ruffled your hair.

The good memories disappeared and he was gone. He didn’t accompany his family the last time they went to Wessex, and in Mercia, he was never around. When he was, it was in the company of a younger woman or around the edges, never talking to you.

As he walked closer, you were suddenly aware of how much time had gone by. How many years had passed since the original arrangement, how patient both kings had been with you and Ubbe.

Calloused, cold fingers cupped your cheeks and made you look up. His eyes, always blue, were then lighter than before, red-rimmed. The eyes of a sick man, you thought, that had seen too much. However unpleasant his face was, you found yourself returning the smile.

“I apologize, Y/N, for my wife and my people. They do not represent the country we are, and certainly not the country one day, if you want, will rule” he said, and everyone in the room looked at you. “I ask you too to wait a week. Let me undo the harm that has been done, think about it. And I promise, if by then you haven’t changed your mind, I will escort you myself back to Mercia and you will never hear from us again. As a king and friend, I promise”

Everyone waited for you to answer, and you realized that was what you had always wanted.

For your opinion to matter, for your rights to be recognized. You could say no and you were sure your father would pack your things before the sun went down. You would be home in time to see your own flowers grow, and you would be free to consider other options in marriage.

It was your call, to stay or go. And you had the chance to finally leave Mercia and Ubbe behind, what you had wanted since you met him.

You looked at Ubbe, who was looking at you. There was no way of knowing what he thought. You guessed he would be happy, finally free from a marriage he didn’t want, but he just started, no sign of emotion on his face. Then, you looked at your father, the opposite. He wore every emotion on his eyes.

He had done so much for you, and he was willing to enter a war against his only friend. His relationship with Ragnar was complicated, deeper than friendship, and you only wished you could find something like that in your life.

For him, and for everything he had given up in the last sixteen years, you were willing to wait another week.

“We can stay until the hunting raid”

One of the things that annoys me the most about the current Kate situation : The Meghan comparison Kate is literaly being harrased worldwide for actually trying to be private about a health issue and photoshoped picture while H&M have done nothing but talked about their private lives for the past 4 years while simultaneusly claiming to have been harrased by the press because of racism, and somehow these situation are made to be similar by the Sugars.HOW can that be similar?They are trying so hard to still make Meghan a victim and trying to keep her relevant when nobody is talking about her now that they keep inserting her in narratives that have nothing to do with her, like the current medical situation of Kate. They are so vindictive that you can see them saying Kate deserves this bulling because she was racist and mean to Megahn ( for ...* check notes* not wanting to share her lipgloss with her ) so she isn't allowed to privacy or complaint because to them Meghan faced the same and nobody did anything for her because of racism.In the past the montecito duo have relesed multiple photosoped pictures ( and its true, some of them where made fun of) but nobody question the motives of such corrections, nobody said they were dead or beaten because they added hair on their heads or erased wrinkles. Why with Kate has to be a hidden dark secret, and not maybe that she didn't feel great phisicaly after the surgery so she altered it so it could look better? is it really so strange?If anything this controversy has proven a point that has been made in the past but conviniently ignored in order to push the "racist royals bullied Meghan" narrative: the palace can't really control social media or what people say or what the press publish worldwide.There have been so many things said about them lately, William has a misstress, is a beater husband, is holding kate captive, etc, so, is this so diferent to the level of speculation that a newbi royal suffered when she arrived to the Royal family? was it really for her race or because she was the hot new thing of that moment so it was more profitable to talk abour her? I'm probably going to regret this but what have people been saying about jimin? I haven't been on Twitter all day.

im not on twitter at all but still i read about it i cant seem to escape the drama 😩 apparently (cuz i went looking into it a bit more and nothing has been confirmed by hybe or the sk ministry of defense so it might be false in the end and we'll probably never know anyway) some jk solos/taekookers have addressed a formal complaint to the ministry of defense towards jimin, arguing that he is gay and should not be put in the same baracks as jk for the later's safety (completely bonkers, they literally lived in the same cramped dorm room for years. ANYWAYS). since there are laws that discriminate against queer ppl in the sk army they have to investigate that claim (if you are known to be queer the army will categorise you as having a mental disability, you can also be dishonorably discharged... also if i understand correctly, if you have sex while in military facilities and while not being off duty, it's authomatically considered sexual assault/harrasment). anyways all that to say that if the rumours turn out to be true i hope hybe will take legal actions against those ppl. i mean they never have before no matter how far solos/shippers/stalkers have taken things but this is endangering jimin on a whole new level. cause it doesn't matter what his sexual orientation is: what matters is that there's a doubt, that's plenty enough for bullies, they don't need you to actually be queer they need you to be an easy target. the good thing for jimin (which isn't the case for most kpop idols who experience a lot of bullying and harrasment during military service), and for bts as a whole, is that they are so famous and so indispensable to sk as a political weapon now nobody will let random men bully them. but you never know yk? and the same ppl who claim that two members are queer and in love are being the most queerphobic pieces of shit possible. i hate shippers with a passion those ppl have always been on another level of queerphobia and queerphobic violence.

I was thinking having her to get in trouble for something like the field trip. But not like how I see it from the last prompt I read about the class glaring at her and sent a complaint. But this is different, maybe forcing Marinette to finish making the school field and inform her but sadly Marinette can't she was in theraphy session at the moment so it would be impossible for her

Sabrina somehow clicked to her mind that Bustier is doing a horrible job as a teacher and went to investigate on her case to send this to her father so that way Marinette can get out of this toxic classroom to Mrs. Mendeleiev's class instead.

Get someone to hack into the school system to read on Caline Bustier's background.

While Bustier is at lunch, let one of the students find anything secrets that Caline is hiding from her students

One of the students from Mrs. Mendeleiev's class heard the whole drama but one of her close friend Marinette got expelled without a hearing as she also notice that Marinett's parents were present while Lila's mother wasn't there.

Marc decided to do something about it and took the aliments and lies of Lila had stated to his boyfriend Nathaniel in his class and inform this through email by Lila's mother who had recieved it in the middle of work. Then also made a complaint to the School Board about his principal expelling a student without hearing. -- you can do whatever you want on the rest.

ALYA SALT (pairing: no pairings)

Alya was walking to school and hearing rumors about being a tabloid reporter since her blog wasn't popular anymore they have stopped going there and went for Aurore's blog who does much better job than her. Aurore did something right she film the bullies and harming against her friend Marinette and post it on her blog that is when the parents of Alya got their attention and the school board also happen to be watching it as well they were not very happy it also involves the rest of the class except for Nino Lahiffe, Nathaniel Kurtzberg, Alix Kubdel, Le Chien Kim, Rose Lavillant, and Juleka Couffaine.

As the mother of Alya demand her own daughter to shut down her blog for disgraceful as reporter.

LILA ROSSI SALT (pairing: Felinenette)

Lila did something stupid claiming to be the daughter of Audrey Bourgeois right in front of Chloe who went into tears and ran off this put few classmates on edge. Even though she was supposedly to target Marinette but she went for Chloe instead which was a big mistake for her. Sabrina wasn't very happy with Lila targeting her sister figure Chloe like that so what she did she shoved Lila to the ground and went to follow Chloe to comfort her.

Many stared at Lila in disgust leaving Alya and Adrien who seems well okay with it. They moved out to find Chloe making sure she doesn't get akumatized. While Marinette exited the room to call Audrey Bourgeois to come in urgent matters about her daughter crying and a certain liar decided to target Chloe for it which really put Audrey on edge.

Marinette was Felix's girlfriend after she told him what happen to her the past couple of days. Felix was livid towards his cousin who would sexually abused her. He told this to his uncle Gabriel what information he recieved from his girlfriend. Gabriel was not happy hearing this.

At the end Lila got arrested for defamation, bullying, and etc being yelled at Audrey Bourgeois of hurting her daughter claiming to her daughter as well along with Lila's mother who looks hurt by this claim and apologize to Audrey Bourgeois and Chloe Bourgeois for her daughters action that she never knew about. (you name any crimes she has causes) along with Alya getting sued for lawsuit of defamation, vandalized theft, harrasment, physically and emotionally bullying. Then lastly Adrien was arrested for sexual abuse on Marinette and Kagami, stalking Marinette as Chat Noir to this point Chloe took the black cat miraculous away from him and gave it to Marinette.

ADRIEN AGRESTE SALT (pairing: Gabenath, Felinette)

Marinette explain to Gabriel Agreste on Adrien's action towards her without this high road advice which really made Gabriel frozed he recongized that advice it was for tabloid reporters only. But also take notice that he didn't defend his mother when Lila lied about Solitude which really put Gabriel to be furious at her for lying about his former wife who had passed away but now married to Nathalie who is happy with him by her side.

Gabriel knew that Marinette is Ladybug and Guardian he gave up his and Nathalie's miraculouses to her. Gabriel decided to give his company to Marinette to make it as hers which he gradually accepts it. Gabriel is planning to disown Adrien soon and soon realize that Lila Rossi was a bad influence to his son not Ms. Dupain-Cheng.

Enough.

After so many complaints and some nasty private messages, I have decided that I'm not gonna share any of my future builds for the time being.

I'm a very small content creator. I have already talked about this previously but I just had enough. I don't think I deserve to be treated like this just because I use exclusive cc on my builds. I don't need to justify myself but I'm gonna do it anyway: building in the Sims is my only hobbie. I don't party, I don't buy expensive stuff, I don't even have Netflix. I decide to spend my money in the game and getting cc that I like because I enjoy building and it helps me to distract myself when I'm feeling anxious. I know not everyone can or want to pay for cc and that's totally fine but attacking others who do it is crossing a red line. I'm getting private messages in some of my social media saying not very nice things just because I use exclusive cc or because I don't want to share cc that I PAID FOR with them for free. And if this was not enough, I'm also getting complaints about not posting all links to all the cc that I use in my builds… I use A LOT of cc, it takes me hours to find links and it's literally impossible to find links for everything. I do this for free to help people. I'm always willing to help others when they ask me where did I find x item. I also shared my builds FOR FREE unlike other builders that charge you money just for their shells and yet, I'm the one being harrased by anonymous accounts and getting complaints… so I had enough, sorry.

So, as I said, for the time being, I'm not gonna share any other build. I might even stop posting my builds cause all this is making me sad and I'm also worried about not being able to keep my sims accounts separated from my personal ones cause I already had someone stalking me in my private life years ago and I don't want to risk myself again.

You still didn't mention the issue with Apo, the fact people are ignoring how shitty he is treated by his agency is amazing. BoC hasn't RT or mentioned anything where he is involved in his social media, not tagging him, they just posted a video where they tagged the wrong account and YES they know about that account that uses Apo's face to sell products yet suspiciously they haven't done anything about it? If you do not see how the marketing team is burying Apo's popularity is because you really do not care. People are mad about how Apo is again being bullied. Look at the Weiboo issue, their oficcial page turned out to be biased because Bible's gf was behind it. What managing agency allows that? The same people that left out Apo from the book cover, who had made racis remarks, who sexually harrased him, who are friends with people taht started rumours about Apo is in charge of his promo it is not coincidence there. There is probably some entitled people who just care about the ship that is truth but most of the people I've seen really upset is because how they're trying to bury Apo. I work on Marketing and we have to post post post and tag correctly to promote, you do not need to have new material. If they are working you can still use other stuff to promote them like all those brands mentioning them or the awards just mentioning them. The issue indeed is with BoC Marketing team who are in charge of the actors promotion and their personal agenda.

Anon, you said it yourself, people are ignoring what is going on with Apo. I am not BOC's defender. They are not paying me. I try not to expect too much from these companies (or people) because they all suck in one way or another.

But the issue still remains that people are more interested in MileApo content, than anything that's going on with Apo. At least from what I've seen. Which was what I was talking about. The voices calling for justice for Apo are quiet and far-between. I hear more people complaining about the lack of MileApo content than anyone screaming for justice for Apo.

BOC protected Build, so we know it's possible for them to care about their artists. But there have been complaints about the issue with cast members being harrased and BOC being quiet about it. And these are things that we are made aware of, by fans who catch these things for the rest of us. But it doesn't always get to the rest of us.

In fact, some of what you just mentioned, such as the weibo issue and the fake account, I'm only hearing about them for the first time.

Responding to your last ask re zandvoort - lewis was treated in zandvoort the same way max is treated in silverstone. I’m not agreeing with it at all but that’s not special to just one place (ie zandvoort).

Also regarding the treatment of women, zandvoort organizers have worked really hard this year to prevent it by taking lots of measures and no police reports or complaints were filed this year regarding harrasment/assault.

I mean it still sucks that some people yell things at the drivers (I haven’t seen the vid but someone said they said some things in dutch to charles) but those are not real fans and not a good reflection of what real fans are and sadly these “fans” are not just in zandvoort/dutch but also in silverstone/british and any other circuit. Just blaming zandvoort for these problems is unfair when they sadly happen everywhere and I think an alcohol ban would be beneficial in general in sports to prevent these things

Agreed - Zandvoort isn't the only place where this type of stuff happens (source), but the ask was specifically about Zandvoort.

I know measures were taking this year after some awful stuff happened to women last year (source). And that things were significantly better this year (source). No doubt the rain helped: according to Svenja TIllemans, who runs a Facebook page for female F1 fans, this led to less drinking, plus women bundled up in rain gear as opposed to a cute summer dress also resulted in less harassment (source).

Alcohol definitely plays a massive role in fan misbehavior (not just at sport venues, but concerts, festivals, etc.). There were a lot more restrictions on alcohol during the Dutch GP in place this year and Zandvoort also prohibited alcohol sales after 15:00 (source). I'm sure that helped as well and it's wonderful to see things moving in the right direction. Everyone should feel safe and not have to worry about getting harassed during a GP weekend.

Unforgettable night on July 22, 2022, at about 10:40 p.m. outside the bus station in Ludhiana, Punjab. I schedule separate rides from the Ludhiana bus station to various locations on the rapido and ola respectively. Rapido came in first, followed by ola. Rider calls me right away after accepting the ride request. He kept demanding for the payment listed on the booking right away. Both riders spoke at the same label repeatedly. same exact thing. Perhaps i guessed they were in the same location. I initially refrained from telling him, but he kept pressing me to do so. He wasn’t prepared to come unless I gave him extra cash. I refused his command. I ended the call. He contacted me again, this time pleading for more cash and verbally pressuring me to do so because it was late night. I now began to feel uneasy about traveling with him, despite having more money.He started harrasing me, arguing and being rude/arrongant and un polite with me. He didn’t cancel the ride,i had to cancel it from my side waited him long to cancel from his side. At the same time, nearby taxi drivers are also urging me to take a trip.I still recall being pulled forcly into an auto, yet at the quick time,I immediately leaped out of auto.I stepped closer to the police officer outside the bus station in Ludhiana as I began to feel terrified and helpless at this point. I immediately dial RAHUL,one of my close friends,to ask for assistance in escaping this predicament.Finally,he arrived on a bike with his brother.Three of us traveled to Jalandar Bypass to board a bus that would take us to Khanna, Punjab. Heartfelt gratitude to Rahul and his brother for their gracious hospitality made me feel so relieved after getting on the bus. The very following day,I filed a complaint against the driver in worry for my safety and security. After a few days,I received calls from both Rapido and Ola.I repeated what had occurred to me the night before. in addition, requesting them to take action against the driver. Finally, they mailed me to let me know that legal action had been taken against them. This is one of my worst days to remember till date.
