The history's thick;
Tumblr media
Summary, Ever since Hannah was little, she knew she was different from her siblings. Different in the way that she wanted to be a hero do the right thing. But it had never been a problem until she had come to Auardon and been forced to make the hardest choices of her life that left her heartbroken. Now she's stuck trying to control her powers while thinking back on her past with her siblings.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
A wise person once said "Sometimes you think that you want to disappear but all you really want is be found". And it seems that alot of people agree with them, because that quote can be found everywhere. On the internet. Graffitied on walls. In books.
It was one that had always resonated with Hannah. Always. Ever since she was a lonely little girl with only one friend in the world who couldn't understand those around her as clearly as she liked. Ever since she had found it in a book while snooping through Harriet's things when she was 3. And it had never stopped because Hannah understood that quote more clearly than she had ever understood anything else.
She understood it because she had felt both ways all throughout her life. She felt like she wanted to disappear sometimes and like she wanted-- no needed-- to be found other times. She had never stopped feeling that way-- either way. Not when she got her own crew and made her own reputation on the isle. Not when she started getting along with her siblings. Not even when she made it to Auardon and found that fitting in there was easier than she had originally thought it would be.
But now? Now at 13? She was feeling it more strongly than she ever had before. And she wasn't even sure which one she truly wanted at the moment. Because feelings weren't always that easy to understand. Especially not the ones she was currently feeling.
Hannah took inhaled deeply, leaning back and resting her against the tree she was sitting against. Doing her best to calm herself as she hugged her knees tightly. She didn't want to loose control of her powers again. Not after the last couple of times. She didn't want to hurt anyone again. Especially if they were innocent or a kid or someone she actually cared about. It couldn't happen again.
Hannah took another deep breath as her hands began to shake and squeezed her eyes shut a barrage of memories assaulted her. Both positive and negative that she couldn't block out. Which only caused her to panick more.
Someone was gonna notice she was gone soon and come looking for her, and they'd get hurt if she didn't stop acting like a baby and just calm down. Why couldn't she calm down?! Hannah pressed herself back further into tree as her eyes started to water. No no no...
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
"Come here, Hannah. That's it. You got it" 7 year old Ginny encouraged, holding her arms out towards her. She was kneeling on the ground infront of a few barrels on the Jolly Roger, trying to get Hannah to walk. Not that Hannah knew that at the time.
Harriet sat behind her on one of the barrels, reading a book. Not even acknowledging what was going on. She had already given up on trying to get Hannah walk at this point, deciding to let her walk in her own time. Which was proving to be difficult since Hannah could barely hear or see them. Luckily for Ginny and by some mere miracle of fate, Hannah finally noticed her.
Hannah squealed happily and began to reach her, but Ginny didn't move any closer. Hannah didn't like that-- at all. She wanted to be picked and she wanted it to be now.
So, she continued to reach out to her. Waiting patiently but growing more frustrated by the moment when Ginny didn't get any closer.
And for the first time in her life, Hannah decided to do something herself. She crawled towards her determinedly, being stopped several times by crew members tripping over her-- only for Ginny to keep backing up the closer she got.
Hannah's eyes began to water as she scrunched up her face. "Ginny, stop it. You're gonna make her cry" Harriet said, wincing as she looked between the two. " No! She'll never learn if I don't push her!" Ginny snapped back stubbornly, not wanting to give up just yet.
"She'll never learn if you traumatize her!"
"Oh please, I am not traumati--"
Hannah pushed herself up-- with much difficulty-- and stood up for the first time. Causing her sisters' argument to halt as they stared at her, stunned.
Hannah took a wobbly step forward and then another. And another. And another. And didn't stop until she was infront of Ginny, who was beaming at her And picked her up immediately-- lifting her as high as her little arms would allow "You did it, Hannah! YOU DID IT! HAHA, I TOLD YOU I COULD GET HER TO DO IT HARRi--" Ginny was cut off by a swift, painful punch to the eye from her scowling baby sister. "MY EYE!" She wailed, dropping Hannah almost instantly to cover it.
Luckily, Harriet caught her. "You totally deserved that".
"Oh shut up!"
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
Hannah bite back a sob as she thought back to the moment that she could barely remove. Her mind was quick to compare it to the last time she had seen her big sister.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
"I'm giving you one last chance, squirt. Step away from Dragon Breath" Ginny said, grinding her teeth. Grip tightening on her sword as she stared her youngest sister down.
Hannah shook her head, trembling slightly as she stared back stared at her. Not moving away from where she stood in front of Mal, even as her hands shook so badly she nearly dropped her sword. "No. I can't let you do this, Gin. It's not right. This isn't you"
The older girl's eyes darkened as Mad Maddy and Mal argued from over Hannah's shoulder. "Alright then, you asked for it" Ginny swung her sword at her legs without warning-- slicing through her jeans and into her leg.
Hannah cried out in pain and shock, stumbling back as Mal cried out in outrage and tried to jump at Ginny-- only to get pushed into the water by Maddy. Hannah quickly reached out and tried to catch her, nearly losing her balance-- only to be pushed in by Ginny.
As the small pirate plummeted backwards into the deep water where the crocodiles were waiting, she looked up at her sister-- eyes wide with fear, confusion, shock, and anger. Slightly wondering and asking how she could do this. She didn't recognize Ginny in that moment. Though that didn't last long, since she hit the freezing water not long after she was pushed into it.
The next thing she remembered was Haul giving her CPR as Jay looked for something to bandage up her leg.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
The cut Ginny gave her, along with several more cuts from a glass she landed on when she hit the water, scarred. Hannah stopped wearing shorts. She couldn't stand the looks people would give her when they saw them. Hannah wasn't sure she'd ever forgive her sister for what she did-- even though she still missed her dearly.
Though she supposed they were techinqually even since she was pretty sure that her powers had lashed out at Ginny when she pushed her into the water. The fact that Ginny was scene with a large scar on her arm afterwards only confirmed her suspicion.
Amber started to grow around her as Hannah wondered what Harriet thought of all this. Ginny was her crew but Hannah was her littlest sister.. was she angry at her like everyone else seemed to Be? Or was she angry at everyone else for being stupid? It had been awhile since she had seen her.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
Hannah looked up from her book when she felt the vibrations of footsteps enter her room, slightly annoyed and ready to tell Cj to Buzz off. She was still mad at her for sticking gum in ger hair. Only to immediately perk up when she realized that it was Harriet and Not Cj that had entered her room.
The five year old smiled at her and waved as she gave the 11 year old her full attention. 'Come. I got something for you' Harriet signed, smiling back before her eyes drifted to her satchel. If it was any other sibling, Hannah would have been nervous. But since it was Harriet, she didn't even hesitate to do as was asked.
Feeling both excited and curious as she watched Harriet fish two small boxes out of her bag. She titled her head to the side, wondering just what was happening. The older girl noticed the curious look she was being given and smiled, signing at her once again. 'Hold out your hands'
Hannah did.
Harriet reached into one box and pulled out a funny pair of red goggles that she immediately dropped into Hannah's hands. Then she moved forward -- after signaling for her to stay still-- and attached something to both of her ears....
The entire world came to life in that moment. The floor boards creaked under Harriet weight. Birds were croaking. Crickets were cripping. And the woosh of the sea. Hannah could hear it all. She spun around to stare at Harriet, startled by the unexpected change as the older girl smiled a bit mischievously at her. In a good-natured way. "Hunter De Vil owed me a favor. Don't go into the water with them in--" Hannah nearly hugged the life out of her that day. Infact, she had to call in reinforcements just to get Hannah off of her just because she was so happy.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
Hannah puckled her hearing aids out of her ears and set them aside, covering her ears immediately after. The amber continued to surround her. She was in so much pain. But her mind didn't care. Her memories didn't care. Just like Cj didn't.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
1 year old, Calista Jane stared at the squirming intruder in her crib curiously as it cried and cried. It was small and red with brown hair and brown eyes, and it was wearing one of her dresses.
She didn't like that. And for the first moment in her life, she felt spiteful. So she gave the little crib snatcher a kick. Just to see what would happen. It wailed loudly. Hannah wailed loudly. Calista paused, staring at her. And then kicked her again.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
Hannah choked on her tears as they finally fell, remembering her sister's old nickname for her. Crib snatcher. Alot better than the new nickname she had for her.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
"You aren't my friend anymore and you aren't my sister. You're nothing but a dirty little traitor! " The blonde had snapped, not at all pleased with Hannah's inferring in her plan. Hannah reared back as if she had been slapped, grip loosening on her sword. "W-what?! No! What are you talking about?! I'm not a traitor!"
"Yes, you are!" Cj said, standing her ground. "You abandoned us so you could stay here and live the high life! You turned your back on us and the isle. On your family. Your friends. Your crew. Your people. You're a traitor!"
She swung at her with her sword-- and Hannah just barely deflected it as anger overcame her. Neither of them noticed the blue light seeping out of her and into her sword.
"I'm Not!"
"You are! You're a spineless traitor! A backstabber! You're no better than that blasted Brat, Pan!"
Something in Hannah snapped when her big sister said that. And she felt all the searing hot anger that had been building up inside of her since she found out Cj had taken Ben explode out of her as she screamed. "NO. I'M NOT!"
Spikes of black rock spouted out of the floor and shot towards Cj. Slicing into her hand and wrist, causing the elder girl to scream in pain and drop her sword.
"CJ!" Hannah yelped, quickly reaching out to try and help stop the bleeding-- only for her sister to flinch away from her. "Get away from me! Y-you monster!"
Hannah took a step back, feeling sick. "Cj, I didn't-- I didn't mean to!"
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
She hadn't cared. Hannah hadn't meant to hurt her and she had provoked her, but Cj didn't care. Cj still thought she was a monster. Hannah wondered if she was right. Because she sure felt like it.
Hannah wished Harry was here. Wished that he and her were on good terms. Because he always gave the best hugs when they where on good terms...
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
Harry (age 8) and Hannah (age 5) sat in a rickety old rocking chair together, side by side as Harry read to her. He didn't need to, of course. She knew how to read-- had known how since she was littler. But he liked to read to her anyway and Hannah liked to let him.
Mainly because he would do funny voices and hug her close as he did so. Their favorite story was a tattered, old copy of 'The Adventures of Flynn Ryder' that they had found while dumpster diving. "And you'll always remember this as the day that you almost caught the man, the myth, the legend! Flynn Ryder!" Hannah rested her head on Harry's shoulder, smiling softly-- fighting to stay awake. It was a battle she ended up losing.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
But they weren't anymore. Hannah didn't notice that the amber was still growing. And growing. And growing. Too lost in her memories. Her hands didn't leave her ears.
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
"Please Harry, just stand down. Don't do this! It isn't you!"
"Don't tell me what to do!"
"Ben has nothing to do with this!"
"He has everything to do with this !"
"Just let him go!"
"No!"
"Please! I don't want you to get hurt.. I love you!"
"Well, I don't love you, you bloody traitor!"
⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️⚓🦴⚔🏴‍☠️
The amber encased Hannah. But she didn't notice because her hands never left her ears and her eyes didn't open. It was hollow on the inside though, so she was okay. Physically at least. Mentally? She was breaking down.
She finally let herself cry freely. Screaming as loud as she could-- trying to get out all the anger and hurt and hate she felt. Trying to stop everyone from hurting so bad. It didn't work though, cause the history was thick. And Hannah would never be able to escape it or the memories gained from it. Even if she wished she could.
She wished she had never found out she wasn't a hook. She wished she never came to Auardon. She wished she had chosen evil or stayed on the isle. But she didn't. And that decision would forever haunt her because the history is thick.

Headcanon that the Isle kids have no clue of what emotions are appropriate for what circumstances, or how to interpret others' emotions.
The Hook kids see yelling and screaming as a completely ordinary form of communication; their father raged so often that they barely even register it.
Carlos finds it very difficult to tell whether he's in trouble or not. Someone acting kind and sweet makes him feel uneasy; when his mother acted like this, he could never tell if it was genuine or merely a facade.
And that's without even getting into Claudine Frollo.

Dunderback, oh Dunderback…
Somewhat graphic descriptions of injury, isle-related violence. Not actually that dark despite this.
+
"Dizzy," Evie asks sweetly. "You've been on the isle more recently than us. Do the twins..."
She trails off meaningfully.
Dizzy blinks up at her like a little red-headed bobble toy. "Do they what? I was thinking about the best ways to starch cobweb lace into shape for a hair bow and I think I stopped listening at the end there. Sorry. What did they do now?"
Oh, little Dizzy. Never change.
Mal puts down her spoon, and actually swallows her mouthful of cereal, instead of talking with her mouth open and full, because despite her insinuations otherwise she is aware that it's a disgusting habit and Evie hates it. "Do they talk, Diz? Because from where we are, it looks like they've been here for a week, and the only people we've seen them talk to is each other."
They do talk!" Dizzy says quickly, putting down her own spoon as well. "Just. Not to other people."
Great. Perfect. They'll have a great time explaining that one to Fairy Godmother. Their new kids, who are supposed to be a hand-picked selection of model citizens, fresh from the ferocious claws of Harriet Hook herself, only talk to each other. That'll go over great, Mal's sure of it. Nothing at all to make FG absolutely nutty there.
Still. Mal's old and wise now, and the twins' issues aren't Dizzy's fault.
"Do they talk to you, Diz?" she asks, trying to emulate Evie's sweet tone. "We thought maybe they like you better than us."
Dizzy frowns. Her whole face scrunches up when she does it. It's cute, but it's also a reminder that they have got to get that girl a new pair of glasses that aren't so broken they're falling off her face. Maybe there's a special Auradon glasses store out there somewhere, where they'll be able to achieve one of Evie's lifelong dreams and get glasses that are actually cute and functional for Dizzy.
And maybe sheep will fly, and the twins will start talking, and they'll all get a pony.
Dizzy pushes her glasses back up her nose with a practiced flick of her fingers. "Well, no. They used to talk to me more, but...  Evie, do we have to talk about it?"
"We want to make sure they can communicate with us, Diz."
Dizzy sighs. Her sharp little elbows are resting on the table, which is another thing they're going to have to train her out of before the fall. Fairy Godmother is nuts about table manners. "They used to talk more, but there was a fight in March between Hook's crew and Harriet's crew, and it got so loud that a bunch of the unaffiliated pirates decided it was their problem to shut them all up before they all started burning buildings again, so they stepped in with their swords, which were fresh out of Gaston's fight club, the one he fired Gil from, remember?"
"I remember.”
Spirits bolstered by the acknowledgement, Dizzy nods, and flicks her glasses up her nose again. "So their swords were really sharp, and Mister Smee, he's the one who always tries to step between pirates and talk them down when they're getting loud, because he knows how mean the neighborhood is. But this time, the unaffiliated gang didn't let him get a word in, and they--" She stops. "Do I have to say it? I don't want to remember."
Mal looks to Evie, who shrugs, and looks back to Dizzy again. They're not really equipped to deal with something so bad that even Dizzy won't talk about it, but if they don't know what they're dealing with, they're not going to be able to make a plan of action. "You can summarize."
"They made him into meat." Dizzy says bluntly, shuddering. "It was awful. Like sausages were spilling out of him, only it was just guts, and I had to go wash the blood off the front steps after, because Harriet dragged him out and brought him to the house, because she knows that Anthony keeps a guts needle in the house, and the twins were there when they were stitching him back up, and I don't think they saw everything that happened, but they were there when-- when he started dying for real, and I think that's when they stopped talking to other people."

Things I learned about the sea three from Uma’s wicked book
Which I bought with my own money despite being in high school and very much not the target demographic
Uma:
- her love of sea ponies wasn’t just a fannon thing, she actually loves them and it’s adorable
- she’s had some pretty dark thoughts (for a kids movie franchise) while on the isle
- has saved Gil from drowning
-considers Harry the exception when it comes to proving of worth
Harry:
-His dad gave him both his original D2 jacket and hook
-his guyliner is very rarely actual eyeliner…it’s just soot he rubs on his eyes and occasionally old eyeliner from Auradon if he could get his hands on it
-very much values his father’s approval
-he got Uma a cracked crystal ball for her birthday
-once ate a ton of sour candy in one day and then couldn’t talk for a week
Gil:
- has a stepmother
-can sew and makes clothes for his brothers
- Ursula has beef with him
-didn’t know what grass was until he saw a photo of Auradon (that tracks, honestly)
Do with information what you will

So I had this one idea for a scene with the Hook siblings, including your character Hannah Hook:
.
.
The sky was a bright, hot blue. Here by the port, the barrier was weaker, since it had to be opened every month for the barge deliveries. The sky was brighter here than it was in other parts of the Isle, and on clear nights, you could almost see the stars.
As if the proximity to the weakened barrier had awakened something in her, Hannah could almost feel...something...stirring inside her, something swimming in her blood and deep within her bones, something that just wanted her to let it out, to grasp the thin lives of what plantlife existed on the Isle and let them wither and decay in her hand. Beside her, CJ was jumping up and down, higher and higher, looking as though she was about to take flight if only she had the wings that their fairy mother had once had before being trapped behind the barrier forevermore. Harry, his sword raised in the air, had gotten distracted by a single dust mote floating in front of him that was glowing in the light, an otherworldly look in his eyes, and waves curled around Uma's bare feet where she stood at the edge of the beach.
Harry and Uma. Right. The reason they were here.
Uma and Harry had decided to teach Harry's little sisters ("YOUNGER, not LITTLE!" CJ had protested) to sword fight. Despite the fact that they already knew how to sword fight, because they were pirates, and you didn't grow up on a pirate ship without knowing your weapons.
"So we'll teach you new techniques," Uma had said. "Sharpen your skills."
"That's stupid," CJ had said. "This is revenge for that time we covered your ship in seaweed, isn't it?"
"So it was ye!" Harry had yelled. "I knew it!"
Hannah had kicked CJ's ankle, rolling her eyes. CJ theatrically rubbed her legs, looking very innocent. She was good at that.
So now they were standing on the beach watching Harry and Uma wave their sword around in techniques and movements Hannah knew how to do but couldn't name. All the Hooks were skilled, and Uma of course-you didn't win your own crew and ship when you had pirate blood by not knowing your way around a sword-but who had time for fancy footwork or using swordwork as an art? Move quickly, go left when your enemy goes right, stab the shoulder, and run.
Like Uma was doing now, except without the stabbing part. Instead, Harry's hook flew out of his hand and landed on the sand.
"And that's how you do it," Uma said, curtsying in Hannah's and CJ's direction, allowing herself a rare moment of levity near those she trusted.
"I could do that in my sleep!" CJ yelled back. "Some first mate you are, Harry! First mates are weaklings! Well except Sammy! But besides him! No wonder you lost! Captains are way better! First mates are-"
Harry threw his hook at her, then ran to retrieve it before CJ did and caused all of them some problems.
"Wouldn't you have had a better chance of winning if you fought Uma with a sword instead of your hook?" Hannah couldn't resist asking. "Uma might have accidentally cut off your hand."
"I wouldn't have," Uma objected. "My aim is much better than that."
"She could've cut off your hand and saved Tick Tock the trouble!" CJ yelled at Harry, cupping her hands around her mouth to make extra sure he could hear her.
Harry rolled his eyes and waved his reclaimed hook at Hannah. "Don't you start, too."
"Start what?" Hannah asked innocently.
Harry's eyes widened. He and Uma exchanged looks.
Harry pointed at CJ. "She's becoming too much of an influence on you!" he declared with mock horror. "She's molding you into an exact version of her! One day we will all wake up to find two CJs running around, and then where, oh, where, will we be?"
Uma clapped slowly to show how unimpressed she was. "Bravo, Harry. Well done." She was smirking, amused.
If Serpent Prep had a theater class, Harry would have done well in it.
Hannah was giggling, and CJ wasn't even trying to hide her grin. "Thank you, thank you!" CJ bowed.
"Hey, that should be my line," Harry complained.
"Anyway!" Uma clapped her hands sharply, to get their attention. "Now you'll practice what I showed you-"
"What we showed ye," Harry put in.
"-one on one. You'll pair up with me and Harry, and we'll practice that way."
"What's the point of practicing with Harry if he doesn't know how to do it anyway? He lost to you!"
"Oi!" Harry yelled at CJ.
"Chil-dren," Uma sang sweetly.
"Hey!" Harry, CJ, and Hannah complained.
"I'll pair up with CJ," Uma decided, "and Harry will with Hannah. Any questions?"
"Yes," Hannah said, who was hot and tired and hungry and missing something she hadn't had since she was born, but that she could sense faintly here, near the weakened barrier, and who wanted to go home and rest and eat something and hang out with her friends, and who didn't want to wait until Harry and Uma decided they were finished to do so, and who wanted to leave now, and who had indeed been taught by CJ everything she knew, including what to say -not even to do, just to say, depending on the circumstances- to cause the most disruption possible.
"Well?" Uma asked, waiting for Hannah's question.
So Hannah asked it. "If a half-fairy and a half-cecaelia have kids, what are they?"
.
Harry Hook chasing his sisters around with his hook was a common sight around the Isle. Right now it was Hannah he was chasing, while CJ perched atop a rooftop to get a good view and shouted advice at Hannah. "Turn left! Go faster! He's right behind you! Jump over that dog! Good, he tripped! Ooh, Cruella's after him! Go right! MY right!"
"Normal siblings," Harriet muttered as she took in the scene. "That's all I ask for."
"A bit too much," Uma, red-faced and bearing a fierce expression that would have scared off anyone but Harry and her future sisters-in-law said as she joined her.
Both of them watched Hannah trip Harry and scramble to freedom, vanishing inside a rickety building and climbing out the highest window to join CJ on the rooftop, her blue streak of hair almost glowing.
"Do I want to know?" Harriet asked as Harry began collecting small rocks to throw at his sisters.
Uma shook her head vehemently, teal braids swinging. "Nope."
Tumblr media
I love this. Especially Hannah's question. She knew exactly what she was doing. So how old are they in this, anyway? Hannah might not have survived asking that question...

The VKs and Games
It doesn't matter what kind of games they like to play. It doesn't matter what kind of game it is. The very notion of a game is warped, for some of them.
The last time Harriet Hook played a game, it was in an attempt to keep her barely-out-of-toddlerhood siblings quiet and occupied as they crouched in a small dark place on the Jolly Roger and their father rampaged in a drunken rage.
The very idea of playing a game is completely foreign to Claudine Frollo. She genuinely has no idea what it is.
The only games Mal, Uma, Evie, Ginny Gothel, and anyone else with fairy or witch blood have experience with are word games, riddles, where one misspoken word costs you a lot more than the game. They are experts in wording things very carefully and finding loopholes.
The only games Freddie and Celia Facilier have ever played are card games. And they're always for something, even something small and useless. Games are never for free.
When Carlos was younger, Cruella sometimes played a game with him. Usually it involved Carlos having to pretend to be a puppy and Cruella hitting him with her cane if he forgot.

Language Headcannons
All the VKs speak multiple languages due to the fact that the Isle is a cultural melting pot, because even villains care about their culture. Most people speak 3-4 languages fluently, it is one of the advantages the VKs have over the AKs.
Everyone knows at least 2 languages fluently.
Everyone knows random words and phrases from languages they don't speak.
The most common languages are English, French, Chinese, German and Arabic
The least common are Faire Speak, Latin, Greek and Atlantican due to the lack of speakers on the Isle.
The Pirates know the most languages out of everyone because their parents wanted them to be able to travel anywhere. They also know Atlantican, Greek, Latin and Faire Speak because Uma, her cousins/siblings and the Hook Siblings taught them.
Freddie and Celia speak French and Creole
Most VK’s just speak their parent’s language as a first language

What FC do you use for Harriet and CJ? Especially with the new picture of Captain Hook out
For Cj; i was always a fan of the Sabrina Carpenter face claim, which was mostly a fandom face claim that most of us jumped on
i usually use this picture if I'm making a Cj mood board or fic board that includes her
Tumblr media
i dont have another face claim for CJ lol but i do have arts of her with a more-clear vision for her face
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
yeah i gave her a jinx vibe-which is funny becuase-well, you'll read it lol
