How long did it take for flo mo Larry and harry to forgive Norman/goblin for cutting off there siblings head
Quite a while. First Norman had to help fix Flo, but he complimented them so much and called them clever and beautiful so finally the actuators were like “yes, this one can stay.”
Plus they can feel how Norman makes their Papa’s heart rate pick up. At first they were concerned, thinking Otto was in danger, but then they remembered that Otto’s heart used to race the same when he looked at their Mama (Rosie) and realized it’s probably a good thing. And they want the best for their Papa, so they said “Alright…but hurt him and suffer our wrath.”

Aww, thank you for liking my symbiote goblin idea! I like symbiotes, so i have more headcanons about symbiote octogoblin.
-When otto transformed to goblin, he turns into tall, green symbiote with big ears and golden eyes. Goblin is kinda slim but full of muscles, so they're good at fight and handle feral situations. And four tentacles are grow on back, similar to otto's original tentacles. They uses tentacles to combat, climbing wars and carrying some stuff.
-Gobby loves meats and sweet food. Originally gobby's favorite food was human, but they find out donuts and burritos are good too. Gobby is very big spoon, so sometimes otto goes grocery store and buy hundreds amounts of burritos and donut. And gobby just eats everything in one minute.
-Gobby loves to snuggle with otto, sometimes they pops up and rubs their head on otto. Otto smiles and pets gobby back, and gobby absolutely love it.
-Symbiotes are weaks at high frequency, so when high frequency comes in, gobby feel strong pain. So otto quickly leaves and goes to safe place, and tell gobby to everything okay now.
-Gobby hates people who trying to hurt otto. If anyone threatens otto, gobby crush that people like bug. Gobby protects otto every time.
-Symbiotes are reproduce by division, so one day, gobby creates four kids. They are named by flo, mo, harry, larry. Otto created mechanical body to gobby's kids can live in. They're big family.
Aww that's cute 🥺🥺

I like to think, even after Otto is cured, the actuators can still think on their own and that they all have their own personalities. They are very interested in Otto's pregnancy, all in their own way.
Flo is the "motherly one" (per Alfred) I think she'd be very doting and protective. She'd hiss if any strangers came nearby. She'd also nuzzle up to Otto's stomach and purr. At night, she does that thing where just the tip of the claws open up and gives his stomach a kiss.
Moe (or Mo?) is the curious one. They're very observant and the first to notice changes in Otto's behavior. All the actuators are very sensitive to vibrations but Mo is the most. Every time the baby moves or kicks, they get very excited and like to watch Otto's stomach in awe.
Harry is the "big brother." He's protective like Flo, he also is the first to carry heavy objects for Otto. He's also the closest with Norm (hence the nickname). Anytime Otto needs something, he is the one to alert Norm of that need, even if it's forcefully shaking him awake in the middle of the night.
Larry is the tough guy. He gets aggressive when anyone is stressing Otto out, even to the point of picking up people and taking them out of the room if they're bothering him. He and Harry team up to lift Otto off his feet if they are hurting.
I need you to understand how I MELTED as I read this ask. I just adore it~!
I love the idea of each of the actuators still maintaining their own personalities and each of them having a way of responding to and coping with Otto's pregnancy. I'll try to add on to what you have, but let me tell you that what's here feels so perfect.
Flo being so affectionate is beyond real. She's often the one that sits on or presses against Otto's middle as he gets bigger. I'm also low-key imagining a "post- @maybe-a-daisy and I's AU" where after every succeeds in returning to their own universes, Otto finds that he can easily jump from world to world without issue because of the impact the pregnancy had on the baby, and Peter (1) catches Flo doing that and comments on it (because that group of Peter, Ned, and MJ are the only ones I can picture feeling comfortable enough to comment on it, lol).
Moe being the one to act strange upon realizing the pregnancy and thus getting Otto to find out the truth himself. As time passes and Otto gets further along, Moe's the one that toys with the baby in a way, occasionally poking Otto's middle to get the baby to move. Larry probably fights with them occasionally, knowing Otto wants to rest, ha ha.
I'm just picturing Harry grabbing and shaking Norman in the night and it's initially very funny, but then Norman realizing how awful Otto is feeling, to the point that he doesn't even realize that Harry woke him. The baby is fine, but Otto is absolutely wrecked with being sick on top of the pregnancy, so Norman and the actuators step in to help (with Harry being the most imposing).
Larry blocking people from even approaching Otto while he's working - be it on something for his research or something for the baby - as he's all too aware of the fact that Otto hates to be bothered when he's in the middle of a task. Yet at the same time, he's the one to snatch Otto's things from him if he feels he's working too hard. <3

TPYH-Chapter 22: I'm Getting All My Lore Off Wikia But I'm Pulling Most of This Out of My Ass At This Point

I promise this will get better, I promise just trust the process.

*Yesterday night*
Otto turned around and entered the portal, you were being ridiculous and overdramatic. He had done the calculations, and they told him everything would be ok. And he didn’t need your validation, his assistants were right, you were holding him back. He felt a strong wave of heat, but pushed through it, he stumbled onto some sort of surface and gasped, he did it.
“You see my dear? I told you-” he started to turn around, a smug smile on his face. It fell when the actuators pulled back and the portal exploded. He shouted in surprise, he looked down and saw y/n’s severed hand and put a hand over his mouth, he shook his head, this couldn’t be happening. “No, no no no no NO! WHY DIDN’T YOU STOP HER!” he screamed at the actuators.
We were trying to, but she was attacking us. Larry held up a pen, which you had hoped to be a knife. Otto snatched the pen.
“It’s a god damn pen, Larry! You couldn’t subdue her?” Otto sneered, he started to click the pen nervously.
You said we couldn’t hurt her. Mo pointed out.
“This was an exception! And now she’s trapped in that filthy warehouse, no doubt hurt from the explosion, and her hand is gone! Do you realize how much I’ve taken from her? And now I have her hand too!” Otto yelled.
…Do you want to keep the hand? Harry asked.
“No! I don’t want to keep the hand, I want to get the hell out of here!” Otto exclaimed,
We can’t do that. Flo pointed out.
“I know we can’t do that… oh god, y/n was right, we should have waited… Because we were so focused on getting here, we never figured out how the hell we were getting back!” Otto realized his mistake, the actuators did too.
Well… we can’t change anything about it now, can we? Let’s just see what we’re dealing with. Flo rationalized.
“Ok, ok you’re right.” Otto finally looked up and took in his surroundings. He was on some sort of rock… wait no, it was incredibly smooth, he looked up and found several floating orbs, what the hell were those things? Otto stared at his surroundings in awe, he couldn’t believe his eyes.
Ummmm, Doctor? Larry muttered.
“Not now, hand me my notebook.” he reached his arm out, but they didn’t hand it to him.
“Can someone-Woah!” the actuators turned him around towards what they were so worried about.
“What are you-” he started, but he fell silent as he looked up at the looming monster that was approaching them, he suddenly realized what it was, y/n was fascinated with them… It was a Hydra, and it was hungry.
He didn’t need to tell the actuators to start moving, he shoved the pen inside his trenchcoat pocket as they shot forward, dodging the small orbs, Otto started to worry, attached to those rocks and long green stalks, which he assumed to be plants, Hydra were waiting to ambush and devour their prey. He ended up next to a huge Daphnia, who was flitting around nervously, it got too close to one of the Hydras, and it shot out and wrapped its… tentacles around the daphnia, devouring it. Otto shuddered, he had to find a way out of this.
“How the hell do we escape this!” He yelled.
I have no idea!
We’re just trying to get away from here! But so far we’re seeing nothing!
Otto's eyes darted all over the place, trying to find a way out, there was nothing. He yelled out in anger, and then there was a flash, Otto started falling.
What is happening? Larry asked.
I don’t know! Otto? Flo asked.
Otto didn’t respond, he was getting light-headed, he felt his insides turn inside out as they landed onto a platform, hard.
Otto gasped for breath, he looked around, was he back on Earth? This didn’t look like the warehouse he came from, first off it was huge, and he couldn’t see y/n anywhere.
“y/n…” he muttered, he was such an idiot, he should have stayed with you. A woman stood over him, she wasn’t y/n, she had huge hair with purple in it, goggles, and a suit… but the weirdest things were the arms attached to her back, they were like his… but they weren’t metal.
Mine are better. He instantly thought.
The woman scoffed. “Of course, I got it wrong.” she sighed as she left him, he heard typing.
“Where am I? What happened? Who the hell are you?” Otto muttered, but the woman didn’t respond.
“Must’ve been my own hair… I’ll find hers…” she muttered to herself.
“I said-” Otto was picked up by the woman's actuators, and flung back into the portal.
Otto yelled in surprise as his insides turned inside out again, and then he was floating, his actuators were limp at his sides, he felt weak, vulnerable. He didn’t recognize where he was, luckily he didn’t see any Hydra, but unluckily he had no idea where he was, all he saw was a light… and it was getting closer. Otto scrambled away and tried to escape, but he couldn’t move… eventually, he gave up, he must be dying… and he deserved it, after everything he had done… he just wanted to go back, why the hell didn’t he listen?
Uceoscju uwdow? The light asked.
“What?” Otto yelled back.
There was a pause, and then a crackle from the speakers.
I said, do you need help? The light asked again.
“oh…Yes! Yes, I do!” Otto yelled, the light shone brighter and Otto started to get pulled in, he crossed his fingers and prayed, that was all he could do at this point.
A hatch opened and Otto stumbled in, he was greeted by a group of otherworldly creatures, one of them, a tall man with brown hair and a beard stepped forward and offered his hand, Otto took it and shakily stood up, the actuators still hadn’t waken up, that might’ve been a good thing.
“I’m Commander Arcturus Rann, welcome to the Enigma Force.” he gave a coy smile.
Shit.

Made a Clip Studio brush for Doc Ock's actuators so I wouldn't have to draw it all by hand. There are five included. The fifth is a line tool that serves as a reference for the claws, but is not a replacement for actually drawing them. I found it helpful in getting different angles.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)
🕷👱‍♂️🆚👨‍🔬🦑
This sequel to director Sam Raimi’s film version of the Marvel superhero sees Tobey Maguire reprise the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The movie focuses on Peter going through great difficulty balancing his personal life with his duties as a hero.
For this particular film, Peter’s secret identity represents his obligation to keep New York City safe from criminal activity, while he’s torn with putting his superhero responsibilities aside to live a normal life. The stress of being forced to make a choice results in Peter’s powers fading away. In fact, the movie is mainly based on the comic book storyline Spider-Man No More!.
The returning cast includes: Kirsten Dunst as love interest Mary Jane Watson, who Peter does not pursue a relationship with to protect her from his enemies, James Franco as best friend Harry Osborn, who loathes Spider-Man, believing he was responsible for the death of his father Norman Osborn (who was also the Green Goblin), J.K. Simmons as pompous Daily Bugle editor-in chief J. Jonah Jameson, whose son, astronaut John Jameson, is engaged to Mary Jane (she only accepted his proposal because she didn’t want to wait any longer for Peter, who’s always dashing off to be Spider-Man), Elizabeth Banks as secretary Betty Brant and Rosemary Harris as Aunt May, whose house is under foreclosure. They are joined by Alfred Molina as nuclear scientist Dr. Otto Octavius, who, after a life-threatening fusion experiment, becomes a dangerous villain with artificially intelligent mechanical arms known as Doctor Octopus (Doc Ock for short).
While the original actors still have the perfect qualities to bring each respective character to life, Alfred Molina’s got both the physical and maniacal attributes to play such an evil genius. Once he puts on the scientific equipment, he eagerly grasps the role of a multi-armed foe. His full on-screen appearance in the film even looks exactly like the villain’s original comic book appearance.
The visual effects include a spectacular combination of stunt coordination, puppetry and CGI. The robotic gear on Alfred Molina is created with a metal harness, reinforced spine, serpentine appendages with individually crafted pieces made to look metallic and automated claws. In fact, each mechanical arm is designed to appear life-like and threatening. However, whenever the tentacles would carry Octavius off his feet, Molina glides on a motion control rig and the arms would be digitally replicated in the computer, creating the illusion the tentacles are supporting his weight. The fusion power project Octavius plots to start again is accomplished with computer animation as well. While Tobey Maguire does a lot of his own stunts, Kirsten Dunst and Rosemary Harris also take part in some of the stunt work when Aunt May and Mary Jane are in peril by Doc Ock, forcing Peter to save their lives as Spider-Man. A special camera called the Spydercam is used to follow Spidey swinging through the city with his web. On top of that, an intense fight occurs between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus on top of a moving train, where Ock sabotaged it to speed out of control, forcing Spidey to stop it from falling over the end of the track. Ultimately, the scene involves digital compositing of both the New York skyline and Chicago footage against green screen shots of both actors performing the majority of the action. All together, those special effects won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
As Sam Raimi (who really outdid himself with this film) is known for having directed classic horror films such as Evil Dead, he devised a frightening moment specifically for this movie. It happens during the scene in the hospital where Otto Octavius’ tentacles went berserk, killing the surgeons as they attempt to remove them. Interestingly, the scene alone is so extreme, it leaves you wondering how that stunt was pulled off. Rest assured, no actors were harmed, although Tobey Maguire once had back pain, which almost cost him the opportunity to play Spidey again. At the same time, Maguire’s pre-existing injury is briefly featured as a joke. Quote: “My back! My back!”
Several references of certain scenes from the original movie are depicted in this sequel. One example is Peter taking out the trash and talking to Mary Jane in the backyard. Another is a point of view angle of Peter seeing a blurred vision in his glasses (which happens whenever his superpowers come to him).
The soundtrack has an impressive collection of both classic and original hit songs. The following list includes: “Hold On” by Australian rock band Jet, BJ Thomas’ “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”, “Woman” by Maroon 5, “This Photograph is Proof (I Know You Know)” by Taking Back Sunday and “Ordinary” by American rock band Train. But one original song that serves as the official theme of the film is “Vindicated” by Dashboard Confessional.
Finally, the message of this particular movie is to deal with personal conflicts before making decisions that could affect other people. What’s more, as long as we’re able to take the best part of ourselves and improve it, heroic deeds are not as problematic as you might think. In conclusion, I recommend this emotional, thrilling superhero movie to every fan of both Spider-Man and Tobey Maguire.
“GO GET ‘EM, TIGER!”

“Here he is, the man of the hour!” Harry called as he threw open the doors. “One Dr. Octavious and his fusion studies for your paper, Pete.”
Peter kept his groan internal as they clearly interrupted whatever lab-work was being done. It was polite to Harry since he was doing him a favor- if, in his own way.
All thoughts of that vanished though when he saw what was happening in the room.
A glowing fiery plasma was suspended in a metal cage, four people turning from where they’d been looking.
Three in lab coats. One in a strange beige suit with a large stomacher and four metal structures connected to it. They fell slowly downward from the plasma, and the man wearing them frowned at the intruders.
His eyes were hidden behind goggles, but his expression was clear enough.
“Cut the power.” He ordered, then stepped away. “Mr. Osborn. You should wear eye protection when you’re in here.”
“Won’t be long.” Harry promised. “This is the friend I was telling you about. Peter Parker.”
“Curtis’s student.” he nodded.
“Ah, Dr Connors, yes sir.” Peter wiped his hand quickly on his pants before holding it out, hoping it was a smooth enough motion no one noticed. “It’s an honor.”
“Peter. I’m Otto Octavius.” Dr. Octavius shook his hand with a little smile. “And these are Harold, Lawrance, Florida and Morticia.” With each name, one of the metal appendages bobbed, tri-grips clicking open.
Peter stared, his arm still out after the doctor let go. “I- Harry, Larry, Flo, and Mo?”
Dr. Octavius just kept smiling the same way.

Doc Ock’s tentacles
SPOILERS
It happens so fast it’s hard to see, but I am 98% sure that the tentacle that gets sheared off by the Goblin is “Larry” the lower right tentacle. “Harry” the lower left tentacle is hanging onto the Statue, and at first I didn’t understand why the two upper tentacles (”Flo” and “Mo”) were raised, but then it occurred to me that Ock probably has them on guard to deflect any bombs the Goblin might lob at him.
Not sure, but it may be that the two lower tentacles have greater grip strength while the uppers are faster and better at fine manipulation.
I also forgot until I rewatched the scene in SM 2 where Ock is showing them off for the first time that the tentacles have cameras in them. I'm not sure he can SEE through them, exactly, but probably their AIs communicate what they see to him. Or maybe I'm wrong and the images from the cameras do go directly into his brain. If so, he has a range of vision no creature on Earth could possibly have. This has some nutty porn possibilities: imagine being able to see your partner from five different angles at once. With your human eyes, face to face, and then with four cameras that can be behind or under your partner.

Otto having severe back pain in the last few months makes so much sense given the amount of metal fused to his spine :(
I read a fanfic where it was a minor detail, but the actuators don't like water, like at all (probably due to a comment certain someone made about belonging at the bottom of the river?). So Otto would have to do some negotiating, as warm baths/showers would help loosen tension and relieve pain, but the actuators would hate every second of it
Awww, poor Otto!
I agree with your ideas. His back is an absolute wreck during the pregnancy; he and Norman probably joke that his posture is immaculate because of the balance of his middle and the actuators, but under all the jokes is some serious discomfort. Otto takes a lot of time to convince all four of them to let him take more significant time in the shower or a bath to ease his pain, knowing they won’t like it.
On the first occasion, there are definitely “tantrums” - Harry (actuator) keeps knocking items around the bathroom, Larry keeps trying to turn the water off, Flo and Mo try to pull Otto out of the water. But then Otto focuses his entire attention on keeping them still as he’s in the bath and when it’s over, the actuators sense the ease in his body and the lessened discomfort. After that, they reluctantly allow for such relaxation methods to continue.

Lost and Found, Part 3
Tumblr media
Part One | Two | Three
Description: After Otto destroys his experiment and sinks to the bottom of the river; he ends up in a strange world, almost identical to his, but slightly off. Burned, bleeding out, and cold, the reader finds him and is determined to nurse him back to health.
Warnings: Swearing, a little blood, semi-graphic description of injury.
Thank you all so much for your kind comments and all the love on the last chapter! Like promised, this chapter is around 2k words. As I said last time, feedback is greatly appreciated, and if you see any mistakes, whether it be plot inconsistency or typos, let me know :). Enjoy!

Secondary Drowning. A potentially fatal medical condition that occurs when water enters the lungs and causes them to swell, eventually restricting the ability to exchange oxygen. Unlike normal drowning, this can occur hours after inhaling water.
Oh shit.
You quickly rush to his side, shaking his arm and calling his name. His eyes flutter open slowly, and he blinks a few times. His breathing is labored and he falls into a coughing fit, which is followed by a desperate gasping for air. Grabbing his arm, you help him sit up, grabbing pillows from the small basket in the corner of your small living room and creating a sort of support around him so he doesn't have to spend too much energy sitting up on his own. His eyes fluttered shut again and he took wheezing deep breaths, wincing with every inhale.
“How are you feeling?” You ask, getting another blanket and throwing it over his shoulders.
“Cold. Dizzy.” He rasps without opening his eyes, shivering despite the blanket wrapped around his legs and now shoulders.
“You weren’t breathing…”
“I noticed.”
You stand there for a moment, waiting for him to say something else, then leave, grabbing the first aid bag and preparing to redress the numerous cuts and large burn across his body. After filling a bowl of water and collecting clean washrags from the bathroom, you make your way back to him, finding him in the same position you had left him in.
You kneel next to him and pull out a small black box. “This is a Pulse Oximeter, it’ll measure your blood oxygen levels.” You clamp it onto his finger and wait. The black box beeps and numbers flash across the screen, it’s low, a mere 89%. Anything below 91% is typically cause for hospitalization.
You pull the box away and sigh, “I know you were adamant about not going to the hospital, but please.” You take his hand, feeling how cold and clammy it has become.
He shakes his head, “I won’t. I can’t.”
“Please.” You beg, gripping his hand tighter.
“Do you seriously think that once the hospital has me, that they’ll let me go? You can’t drag a monster into the hands of the people and expect them to loosen their grip!” He snaps, and a wild look comes across his face; anger, and what you swore was a hint of fear. The expression soon morphs into one of realization when he sees you recoil from him and hears the metal arms rattling off the floor beside him, desperately trying to activate and hurt what was making their host so angry. His eyes soften, “I’m sorry…” He speaks barely above a whisper, shame apparent in his voice. “I can’t. Please just-”
“Alright. I’ll do as much as I can. But if you die I will call an ambulance.” You try to play it off as a joke, but he just sighs.
*
You redressed his injuries, made him a light breakfast, and put something on the TV for white noise; not that it mattered to him since he spent the majority of the day resting. For you, it was a rather boring day. The day off allowed you to catch up on homework, even getting a headstart on the reading for your calculus class.
After a few hours of work, you decided to do something nice for Otto. Pulling up a few sites, you begin to compile a list of the major events that have transpired in the past 20 years so you can give him a rough recap of what he missed. After a few hours of this, darkness began to fall, seeping into the room, forcing you to flick on the harsh artificial lights of your apartment.
The man on the couch stirs, his eyes opening. “What time is it?” He rasps, voice still raw from the coughing.
“Sevenish.”
He grumbles, “ Sorry I slept so long. Could have at least helped you with laundry or something.”
“No, no. You need rest.”
You walk to the kitchen and hear him huff, quickly preparing two bowls of soup and putting the kettle on for after-dinner tea. One of the bowls is passed into his hands and you settle onto the couch next to him.
About halfway through dinner, you finally speak up. “So, you mentioned that the arms are, like, stuck to you. Well, I was thinking, since technology is a lot more advanced than it is in your world, maybe we can find someone who can remove them?”
He’s quiet for a moment. “They don’t exactly like being messed with. When the accident first happened they sent me to a hospital, where they tried to cut through the harness and remove the wires…” He stops, “They didn’t enjoy being touched. A lot of people got hurt. I haven't tried since because I feared what they would do to me.”
“But they don't work right now.”
His eyes lit up, “I suppose you're right. Now would be the perfect time to make alterations. If not, I’m not certain that I'll ever get a second chance.” He turns to you and smiles, “Thank you, dear. I’ll start devising a plan to do so immediately. But, there is the issue of money” His smile fades a bit.
“Well, maybe you can just fix the chip thing you talked about? I can't imagine something so small being that expensive...”
He laughs, “You would be surprised. However, that is a good idea. Smart.” His smile returns and your chest swells with pride. He called you smart, such a brilliant man thinks that you are smart.
“Oh, do you need a notepad or something? I have plenty.” You set your bowl onto the small coffee table and grab a blank notebook from your small dining-table-turned-office area.
He watches you the whole time, a slight smile on his face. “Excited, are we?”
The notebook gets placed on the coffee table along with a few pencils. You take the bowl from him and place it in the sink along with your own.
“Please, allow me-” He starts to slowly stand, then stumbles forward, catching himself on the arm of the couch.
You step close to him, “Hey take it easy.”
“I want to help you, I've been a burden for the past twenty-four hours, let me make it up to you.”
“You can make it up to me when you can walk. I don’t want you to fall and hurt something I can't fix.”
He huffs and sits back down on the couch. “I suppose.”
The two of you sit in comfortable silence, him intently watching the documentary on TV, something on the recent discoveries in the field of cytology, and you going back to working on your laptop. It was nice being close to him, just being in his presence made you feel calm, warm and fuzzy, it felt almost domestic.
An hour passes. Two hours. Three. Finally, after sitting there in domestic bliss for four hours, fatigue begins to pull at your eyes, forcing a yawn from your body. Otto had long since fallen asleep, quietly snoring beside you. You gently drape a blanket over him, careful not to wake him.
You slip away into your room and fall into bed, butterflies in your gut and warmth spreading across your chest as you fall asleep.
*
You awoke again at seven-a.m. sharp. But this time you could hear water running and soft clanking of plates. You open the door to your room and you see Otto standing in the kitchen, and when he catches your eye, he smiles.
“I made breakfast, and did the dishes.”
Your heart leaps, how was it that the man you pulled off the street also happens to be the kindest person you’ve ever met?
*
His injuries were redressed again and you called into work sick, despite Otto protesting and claiming that he would be fine. He could walk now, although, ‘walk’ may be too generous a word; he could slowly shuffle around using tables or counters as support. The arms on his back seemed more lively, they would jitter and click when Otto seemed happy and would attempt to grip the floor to support the man when he walked, however, they still couldn’t lift themselves off the floor except for a few inches. You decided to spend the day on the couch with Otto, TV buzzing with the most popular movies of the past decade, while he slowly worked out a way to fix the chip. Between the movies, the two of you would chat about a variety of topics; you would tell him about everything that had happened in the past few years, with the Avengers and the Snap, and he would recall ridiculous stories from his days as a college professor;
“It comes to the day of the final, and this young lady, who hadn’t turned in a single piece of homework all semester, comes up to my desk, and she’s bawling. So I ask her what’s wrong and she told me,” He raises his voice a few octaves to mimic that of a woman, “‘Professor Octavius, last night my mother was in a horrible car crash, and she's in the hospital, please excuse me from today’s final so I can go see her’ However, her mother lived in the apartment next door to me. It was an insane coincidence and I never really mentioned it to the girl. The night before she invited me over for tea and went to bed immediately after. I was incredibly suspicious, however, I didn’t feel like embarrassing the poor girl infront of all 50 kids in the class. So I just said, ‘Oh no, poor Rita.’, which was her mother’s name, ‘How awful. She lives right next door to me and is such a lovely lady, once you’re feeling better, can you send me an email with the hospital and room? I would love to send her flowers.’ and the girl’s face went stark white.” He laughs and smiles, wider than you've ever seen him; happier than you’ve ever seen him.
All you can do is smile back, too in awe of the beaming expression on Otto’s face. You thought he was gorgeous when his eyes were heavy with sleep deprivation and pain, but now he seemed godly, almost glowing with joy.
He catches your eye and his grin turns into a soft smile as blush spreads across his cheeks. There was this look in his eyes, one you’ve only heard described in fairy tales and seen in romance movies. But that couldn’t be right. You're seeing things, probably misinterpreting what he means by that look.
You look out the window of the small apartment to avoid his gaze and hide the dark crimson that found its way to your face. The sun had started to slowly dip below the horizon of the New York City skyline.
“How about I make dinner? I have some frozen salmon fillets that I’ve been saving for a special occasion...”
“Can I help?”
“If you can stand up that long~” You tease.
*
You stand in the small kitchen over a pan on the stove. Otto stands beside you, skillfully chopping up vegetables.
“I can’t thank you enough, dear.”
“Don’t worry about it.” You smile and yawn, stirring the mixture in the pan.
A hand meets your waist and you shiver, he turns you to face him. “My dear, please.” His other hand comes to your chin and gently tilts your face up. Blush spreads across your face as a soft smile pulls at his lips, he leans in, leaving less than a centimeter between the two of you. His lips barely brush your own and he whispers, “Please, let me show you how grateful I am.” Then closes the gap.
His lips are rough, chapped from the past week, but you melt into the kiss nonetheless. You throw your arms around his neck as the hand previously on your waist moves to your back, pulling you closer to him. He separates for a moment, catching his breath. The hand that was holding your chin drops to his side. “I-I’m sorry, it’s not like me to be so… brazen… I don’t want to take advantage-”
You move one hand to cup his cheek and smile, “Otto, if anything I’m the one who should be worried about taking advantage of you. But I’m not.”
He chuckles as you stroke his cheek with your thumb. “I suppose. But I’d hate to burden you with… everything.”
“I would feel worse if I just left you to navigate this world alone.”
He grins, and kisses you again, deep and slow. It was warm as he pulled you closer to his chest, placing his hands on your waist, so big that they almost completely encircled it. He pulls away and presses kisses all over your face, smiling wide before kissing your forehead and pulling you into a hug. “Thank you.” He whispers as he holds you.
For a moment, nothing else mattered. The worries and stresses of your classes and work melts away into pure bliss. His arms around you, the warmth of his body, and the pillowy softness of his skin.
Then the smoke detector began to beep as the smell of burnt fish and garlic glaze begins to fill the air.
“Damnit.” You say, suddenly pulling away, removing the pan from the stove. “So uh, how does Chinese takeout sound?”
He laughs, “It sounds amazing, my dear.”
