But [Rosie] was not very good at maneuvering a spindly British bicycle. As "airplane commander," Rosenthal was issued along with a good deal of other matériel, a bicycle for getting around the wide vistas of Thorpe Abbotts. He found himself heavily burdened by all this issue but somehow managed to get himself upon the cycle. He carried a load of gear in one arm, had draped his life preserver around his neck, and set off in the general direction of his quarters.
Rosenthal managed to do pretty well, for he got some distance away from the supply hut and was pedaling his uncertain way along a little dirt road. A shift in the load contributed to a series of unusual course changes which came to a sudden, damp conclusion as Rosenthal, newly issued supplies and bicycle plunged down an embankment into one of those charming little ditches that run along the picturesque rural English roads.
Lying in the water (which was not deep), Lieutenant Rosenthal felt there was only one thing to do in this emergency as he lay there, face up in the ditch: he inflated his Mae West. This was probably the only time during all of the Second World War that a member of the 8th Air Force was thus saved from British waters.

“He was my best friend,” says Ringo softly. “Yeah. I loved Harry.”
rolling stone interview
“Ringo and I spent a thousand hours laughing,” Nilsson said.
ringo: with a little help, by michael seth starr
Tumblr media
Mark Hudson: “I think that Harry's friendship with John was also very very close, but I - I don't think it was as intimate as his relationship with Ringo Starr.”
Harry Nilsson: “I had a relationship with John - we were roommates a couple of times you know, short times […] But uh, Ringo and I are the, Ringo and I are friends. It's funny I always thought I would be closer to John but then over the years Ringo and I ended up being pals.”
Michael Seth Starr: Harry, born in Brooklyn, New York, in June 1941, was less than a year younger  than Ringo. They were both three years old when their fathers (Richard and Edward,  respectively) abandoned their families, never to return.  They both enjoyed alcohol and practical jokes and were garrulous in nature, at  least early in their relationship. Neither man had completed any semblance of an education. Ringo left school at the age of fifteen; Nilsson, who was extremely  bright, dropped out of school in the ninth grade.
Ringo Starr: “I think I could always call Harry, night and day, and he would come and save me. I'm very lucky with friends like that.”
Chris O'Dell: “They became really, really close friends, and a lot of it was based on how much  alike they were. They shared a sense of humour. You can never  underestimate Ringo’s sense of humour. It’s there, it’s a huge part of who he is.  Harry was also like that. [...] They were like brothers.”
Harry Nilsson: “I saw Ringo in an interview once looking very nervous saying “Well I'm probably the best rock and roll drummer in the world” and the truth is he is. But he looked very scared saying it. I could see him being scared about it, not scared, but not comfortable about it. And I wanted to be right there and say “Yes! You are! It's okay! You are the best rock and roll drummer in the world ever. That's it. Period, the end.”
Doug Hoefer (Harry's Cousin): “They would fight about shit  and hang up on each other. Then time would go by and one of them would call the  other back and they would pick up where they’d left off. I’m not really sure exactly how they pissed each other off, but they would . . . because Harry had a very strong personality as well.”
Stephanie La Motta: “He said, ‘I’m Harry’ and he goes searching all over the  place - and I’m screaming for Ringo - who comes out and hugs Harry, because he  loved Harry. They had a special bond. It was unbelievable this bond I saw between  them. He loved Harry as much as Harry loved him.”  (she was screaming because Harry was barging into their hotel room and she had no idea who he was)
Ringo Starr: “Harry’s no longer with us. He’s been gone 20 years now. I still miss him.”

Music played this way All I need is my imagination Take me far away Where I can be with everyone who loves me
Harry's Song, by Ringo, 2008
There's no more oyster bar There's no more Ringo Starr There's no one left to love but you and me
UCLA, by Harry Nilsson
Ringo paid for Harry to have cosmetic dentistry to straighten his front teeth. [...] Some of Nilsson's closest friends believed that self-consciousness about his crooked teeth had been a significant factor in his decision not to appear in live concerts. Samantha Juste, for example, said: "He didn't have great teeth. I remember when he had his teeth fixed, it did a lot for him. In the early days he didn't smile really. Those teeth made a big difference to him, and to his confidence."
- from "Nilsson, The Life of a Singer Songwriter" by Alyn Shipton
Most commentators have focused on "You're Breakin' My Heart" as the one song that expressed Nilsson's emotional torment about [his wife's] departure. However, there is another interpretation, which was that it represented his first quarrel with Ringo Starr. There are coded references to Starr and their social life together, notably in the lines, "You won't boogaloo - Run down to Tramps - Have a dance or two". The reference to the Beatles' Drive My Car [You won't drive my car, might be a star] is another clue to this possible interpretation.
- again from "Nilsson, The Life of a Singer Songwriter"
For reasons of his own, Ringo did not attend Harry’s funeral, which was held on  January 17, a day that was rocked by aftershocks from an earthquake in nearby  Northridge. He claimed to be too grief-stricken, and Barbara went in his place.
- from Ringo: With A Little Help, by Michael Seth Starr
"We tried every which way to get Ringo to talk on camera. What came back to us each time was that there are three people he just does not feel comfortable talking about in person: John Lennon, George Harrison and Harry Nilsson. It’s just too emotional for him and I totally respect his feelings on the matter. Ringo was, however, tremendously supportive of the film including providing us with photos and making it possible to use Son of Drac, a film that Ringo and Harry made in the early 1970s but has been locked away in a London vault since 1974. At the end of the day, we were happy to have his support and understood the decision he made. Sometime later we had heard that he saw the film and liked it but thought some things were missing from the story. And I said to myself, “Yeah, Ringo, you were missing…” (laughs).
- John Scheinfeld, about making 'Who is Harry Nilsson..?'

(I have found absolutely no evidence that ringo starr knitted this)

Pretty good story, it’s excellent for a biography. In the end, it took family to save Kevin from the family curse. Must Watch if you are into pro wrestling or biographies.
The Iron Claw is a 2023 biographical sports drama film written and directed by Sean Durkin. Based on the life of professional wrestler Kevin Von Erich and the Von Erich family, the film stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Holt McCallany, and Lily James.

The Fairytale of Severus Snape
I made a video based on the song: “Fairytale„ by Alexander Rybak on The Sims 4 featuring the life of Severus Snape, mainly his tumultuous relationship with Lily Evans Potter and how his relationship with mr. Harry Potter is a continuation of that turmoil.
This explores from their childhood friendship, passing through the rough adolescence and bullying, her death, his hard years as the Potions Master in Hogwarts and, finally, his death.
I do believe that his song was perfect for him, only surpassed by “Always„ by Bon Jovi, perhaps.
This video means a lot to me, as it took me about an entire month to finish it. Besides, when I took the decision of making this video I only had I rough idea of what was the Harry Potter saga, so I decided to actually check the source material for a better understanding of what I was doing. During the month I spent doing this project, I watched eight (8) films and read two (2) books. I'm currently reading Prisoner of Azkaban.
I must thank this video for bringing me, definitively, to the Harry Potter fandom.
With all my love and dedication, Rose.
P.S.: Here's all the Custom Content I used in this video with links.

My copy of REVENGE by Tom Bower arrives in US Aug 4th-Aug 8th
Tumblr media
Can. Not. Wait!
Sadly, Lady C already poo poo'd Tom Bower during her YT Q and A. Supposedly someone requested that she read Bower's book. She agreed to read it and provide a review. She also said: Bower isn't always "fair" whereas she tried to be "FAIR" to Harry & Meghan in her own book. I like Lady C but her book was a compilation of online articles and a bit of info from anonymous sources; but some of her sources deceived her into writing incorrect info. I think Lady C expects Bower's book to eclipse her own book in sales & popularity.

Braise’s biography~
"You’re either on my side or in my way."
BACKGROUND
Operator Luna "Braise" Ursi is born in France where she lived for three years before immigrating to Quebec, Canada. There, she developed skills in French and English due to her location which benefited her throughout her social and professional life. She comes form a hardworking family and she knew quite young what she wanted to do; sacrificing herself to help those in need. At 16 she enlisted in the Canadian armed forces (CAF) as an armored officer. That will mark the beginning of her multiples changes.
Later, Luna did one year in the Royal military college before realizing it may not be the right fit for her, she soon changed to the federal police of Canada (RCMP), succeeding in every part of the job including weapons’ training and rapid response situations. She did four years before being able to supervise the newcomers and then got approached by the emergency response team (ERT). There, she served one year. One year where she got deployed all over Canada helping citizens and participating in high danger classified operations. During a joint operation with the JTF2, she met agent Sebastien "Buck" Côté who later introduced her to Rainbow.
PSYCHOLOGICAL REPORT
When I first read Luna’s dossier I thought Côté wasn’t thinking straight. She had way too much expectations on what she could achieve and about the person she would become, but maybe that’s what made her such a good fit for team Rainbow. She would not back down. She was reckless, tireless, rigorous and independent. These qualities interested me, and were a mix I had wished to see on the battlefield for a long time now.
At first, I started to learn about her personal life. She lived with a quite modern family. There didn’t seem to be any problems at first but, as I dug deeper, I realized Ursi had suffered this oldest sibling syndrome. She felt a lot of pressure on her shoulders but managed to control it before she find an opportunity to work on it with the federal police. My several psychological interviews with agent Braise confirmed her immense feeling of pressure when it came to success. A mix of immense guilt and pressure of doing what is right. She had failed to achieve her goals in the army which pushed her into not doing any mistakes again that could make her feel so miserable. Failure is her biggest enemy.
Luna would seem harsh at first but she is liked in the unit by others and seems to have small issues with few of our agents. After some time she quickly grew found of our French and Canadian agents where she seemed to find her place with most of them. Of course, her strong sense of hate towards injustice made her more friendly with Aria "Alibi" De Luca which she described, as my biggest surprise, like a sort of canalisation for her anger. I’m also looking forward to seeing her work with agents Mark "Mute" Chandar as her defensive partner and Jordan "Thermite" Trace during her mentoring time with the agency. They are two strong headed men, who I hope will vandalize their anger and frustration into Luna’s strategic and open mind.
— Dr. Harishva "Harry" Pandey, Director of Rainbow

All was not well there when they arrived, those who were fortunate to make it. No real arrangements were made to house the air crews nor to service the planes. "Strangely enough," Crosby recalls, "my worst memories are not of the incessant beating that the 100th took; instead I remember an incident that happened while we were in North Africa. The mission was so fouled up with poor coordination between the 8th and 12th Air Forces that when we got to North Africa (at Berteaux and Telegerma), the only detachments that were there were a finance corps and some postal clerks. As a result, someone pumped 2780 gallons of kerosene into our B-17 wing tanks thinking it was high-test gasoline. We had to pump a hand apparatus for about fifty-six straight hours before we finally got the kerosene out of our tanks."

Must Watch if you are curious about Stephen Hawking. It’s a good, emotional story. I am super curious about the polyamorous relationship but I think it is in service to the story not to make it play a bigger part.
The Theory of Everything is a 2014 biographical romantic drama film directed by James Marsh. It was adapted by Anthony McCarten from the 2007 memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Hawking. It stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, with Charlie Cox, Emily Watson, Simon McBurney, Christian McKay, Harry Lloyd, and David Thewlis.
