I know you already answered an ask about how the crown’s parents would have gotten along w the LI, but I was wondering how the LIs would ‘court’ the crown of their parents were still around? (It’s already hard enough to be in a relationship w the crown but now you have to impress their parents??? The pressure is on lol)

This is a really cute question!! This is the ask referenced by the anon in case some people haven't seen it, btw.

A - They wouldn't try to actively impress the parents, and that's probably why Harun and Nazire end up liking them so much. That's not to say that they treat the parents dismissively or anything like that, A would simply be as respectful and decent as they'd be to any other person.

If anything, it's because they're the Crown's parents that A finds it important not to put on airs or people-please, but to act with modesty and bond with the parents naturally by getting to know them. Even if they end up not getting along, the most important thing is that the parents know how much A cares for their child. This kind of attitude really endears A to Harun and Nazire quickly.

X - The polar opposite of A, they would try to do their best to impress the Crown's parents as much as possible, which is why they'd get some suspicion from Nazire and Harun lol. They'd probably do something over the top during the gift-giving phase you usually have when you meet your prospective promised one's family.

Like hunting down some huge and dangerous animal, then preparing and cooking it for the parents like some very old-fashioned "look how well I can provide for your child" as if the Crown would ever be at risk of hunger lmao. Nazire and Harun would not be impressed with them at first, to say the least, but they'd warm up to them later.

R - They'd be a little nervous to meet the parents, but would be very earnest in their attempts to bond with them. They'd have an easier time with Harun than with Nazire since they're both magi, so they'd get along swimmingly right off the bat.

It would be a bit more difficult with Nazire since I could see R being intimidated by her. Mainly R would ask to spend some time with her to try and find something they have in common and can bond about (which would be mainly the Crown lol). Nazire would find their honest attempts very endearing and would end up charmed by them as well by the end.

D - They wouldn't be nervous at all, and would probably take a more similar approach to A. They'd put effort into building a good relationship, of course, but they're not going above and beyond to please or impress the Crown's parents. They're honestly way too busy for that on a day-to-day basis lol.

And they honestly don't need to, both Nazire and Harun would already be impressed with D due to how they pretty much singlehandedly held Arsur's security together for the past 10 years with what is essentially a crippled army. Their only concern is whether D would treat their child well, and once they're convinced of that, it all goes smoothly.
