finally got my hoss in my harvest moon: save the homeland playthru

mixed media, experimental process

the process was this:

make a good sketch, decide to color it and leave it at that

color in sketch with crayons i wish i liked better but unfortunately are not very pigmented and smear the pencil like crazy

late to meet a friend; try inking on tracing paper

finally get an ink i like. set over night - no reason, just no more time to draw

get an idea and experiment. it works!

color on back side of inked tracing paper with color pencil and better crayons

modge podge a piece of white paper and glue above to it ink side up

spray w/ fixative

varnish with a different matte varnish - more liquidy

gesso blanks around figures

crayon on top

lots of touch ups and modgepodging and varnishing ensues

fixative was not strong enough to lock down water soluble crayon which smears with varnish layer. Whups!

let flatten out, scan, post
