ngl the appeal of harvey from stardew valley to me is just, you really don’t notice him in the first few seasons of gameplay because he keeps to himself. it’s one of those “oh, i didn’t notice” and the more you sort of pay attention, there’s so much to unravel. (i’m a fan of “Oh!” moments in a lot of things so this was really an interesting experience) he’s slowly opening up to you (the failed dreams, the insecurity, the constant anxiety) and when you get to the 10 heart event which i think sealed him for me is the way he’s willing to step out of his comfort zone and experience something new with you. because you know, facing terrifying things aren’t terrifying when you have someone’s hand to hold. it’s romantic to me, and he’s just the epitome of there can be no other greater dream than to be loved and simply be loving.
