Gran Blue Fantasy Conlangs

So, I have been playing around with this idea of creating a set of conlangs inspired by each of the species mentioned in the GranBlue series. I will admit that I am not familiar with the series as a whole, and in fact have only seen enough of it to be interested and inspired to undertake this project. (alongside others of a similar nature)

I will be taking artistic liberties when creating these languages. it's just more fun for me that way. all that said let me give the quick-and-dirty rundown of what I have in mind:

Draph:

an unironic set of words relating to different types of breasts (including a distinction between female mammary and large male pectorals) and breast coverings. If the designers want to make that feature prevalent, then I will take that ball and run with it to the best of my ability.

(like another project of mine) horns will be referenced a lot. especially in metaphors.

Erune:

something about tails.

Harvin:

words that group creatures bigger or smaller than themselves. with humans, Draphs, and Elerunes included in the former category.

Human:

TBD

Primal:

In my head canon, a way of speaking that developed so that they, the servants, can communicate with each other outside of their masters' direct instruction. even after the Astrals disappear they continue to use this language of theirs as a way of reinforcing their bonds in their shared predicament, and keep unwanted ears from listening in.

Astral:

something eldritch and mind bending. like Babelingua's Seraphim.

Disappeared for some days (and probably will continue to do so) because I played and finished Relink!!! I pre-ordered on the PS4 and was able to play it a few days early because of early access. It was really good and quite worth the wait in my opinion, one of the few games where the delays did it good because it's quite polished. The story was predictable in some portions but I overall enjoyed it and love the Relink-only characters. The boss fights were very interactive and the whole game a very cinematic and movie-like experience, it makes me very excited for Cilius' fight in the future update!!!!

Realized what niche Harvin aka Dicemaker fills that I don’t yet have: tired old man.

Don't think I've mentioned it here before, but I had Wind Catura for a good while and tried her out again after her recent update and god. Wind Kengo is so goddamn fun with her. I love her 10+mil nukes every couple of turns. And with wind Charlotta, once turn 10 rolls around the team starts throwing out ougis like girl scout cookies. It's so fun to have guaranteed 8 chains every 4 turns. so funny. I love ougis.

I remember when I first tried her in the past. I saw her high gear and thought it'd be useful for a gw otk. Only issue being that fa didn't work for 0-turn skills at the time, which made it impossible to use. I wonder if it'd be worth it now (if I didn't already have better, faster otk teams). The skill still sucks even now and kinda makes no sense with the rest of her kit, but whatever. I'm going to enjoy tossing out damage numbers that my dark ougi team struggles to keep up with.

I would lie if I tell you that I'm surprised, but no. I was expecting Trubisky and Okorafor to be released, you saw it this last season 🤷. Pressley Harvin, he had good things to notice but inconsistent, so hope they find a team -or practice squad- to continue.

By the way, I'm excited to know who the Steelers will get as a 3rd -or backup- QB, I think they might need one.
