A while ago, I commissioned the wonderful and talented @nae812 to draw a scene from my YOI novelisation Can You Hear My Heartbeat. The scene is part of the Tanabata* chapter, set during the summer of mutual pining, and I'm very proud to share the absolutely gorgeous result with you:
Tumblr media
Posted with permission from the artist because commission conditions and stuff. Do not repost.
They fell silent, watching the stars. But Yuuri’s heart refused to be still.
“O-hoshi-sama,” Viktor murmured, gazing at the sky. “I get it now. How can you look at the universe spinning in the sky and simply call them hoshi?”
Yuuri smiled. “Yeah. The stars are that majestic.”
“I like it. This is the most beautiful night of my life so far, Yuuri. Not even the White Nights can compare to this.”
The warm, reverent nuance in his voice made Yuuri tremble. This night, this place—it created a closeness he had never felt before with Viktor. As if a bridge had emerged from the sea of stars between them.
“Um, Viktor. There’s something you should know.”
“Huh?”
“There’s an even larger Tanabata festival held in Fukuoka.” The words welled out of Yuuri, encouraged by the darkness engulfing them and because they were not facing each other. “It’s because they have a huge Tanabata shrine there. I… I didn’t suggest it because you wanted to see the fireworks, but we wouldn’t have been able to stay that late because we’d need to catch the last train back. And I didn’t want to take the van because I wasn’t sure if I’d want to drink and I also don’t like to drive at night.” And because it would have been a date then. “My apologies.”
“No, Yuuri,” Viktor said softly. “I’m glad we stayed here. Fukuoka is likely overcrowded tonight and I don’t want to do that to Makkachin. Besides, here we have a better view of the stars because of less—how did you call it?”
“Light pollution.”
“Right.” Viktor’s voice was warm in the night as if he was smiling. “Thanks for introducing me to this festival, Yuuri.”
Yuuri thought back to the wish he had written on the red tanzaku. I wish that I’ll figure out my feelings for Viktor. I wish it to be love.
“I’m glad we came here, too.”
A reddish shine illuminated the lookout, followed by a cracking noise that ruptured the silence. “The fireworks have started!” Yuuri said. “Let’s watch!”
They hurried to a spot where the trees parted. Orange sparks rose into the sky and blossomed into colourful stars, illuminating rooftops and the people cramming on the beach and along the bridges, glittering on the bay. A sudden giddiness rose in Yuuri.
“When I was younger, I often imagined what it would be like to celebrate Tanabata with you,” he said. Each year, he had written a wish for it and hung it on a tree. “I didn’t ask you because I didn’t know how to do it without things taking a weird turn.”
“Really?” Viktor’s voice was hushed with an undercurrent of excitement.
Yuuri nodded. “The last weeks were very nice. I would have hated to ruin that.”
A hand touched Yuuri’s shoulder, stirring a swarm of butterflies in his stomach. “I enjoy our time together very much, too.”
“Yeah,” Yuuri said. His heart fluttered.
They fell silent, watching the colourful sparks blossoming above the town, mirrored on the silent river. The hand remained on his shoulder and Yuuri found he liked it being there.
“Yuuri?”
“Hum?”
“Will you tell me what you wished for?”
“No, Viktor.”
“I’ll tell you what I wished for in return.”
“It won’t come true when you say it aloud.”
“But if a wish isn’t voiced no one will know and they won’t do anything about it.”
“The gods will.”
If I were already sure of my feelings, this would have been the perfect date, Yuuri mused.
“Will you tell me your wish when it comes true?”
You will know when it comes true, Yuuri thought, struggling to tame the tempest of emotions raging within his heart. “Yes,” he said, leaning his head against Viktor’s shoulder. “I will.”
-- Chapter 17: So close and yet a universe apart
*On Tanabata or the Star Festival:
According to a legend, Princess Orihime fell in love with a cow herd named Hikoboshi, and their love was so great that both neglected their duties whereopun Orihime's father, the Emperor, banished the pair to the heavens with the Milky Way separating them. Orihime became the star Vega and Hikoboshi became the star Altair. Only once a year, in the seventh night of the seventh month, they can meet--but only if the skies are clear.
Tanabata (七夕) is celebrated in July, but in some regions, it's celebrated in August (depending on whether the Gregorian calendar or the lunar calendar is used). The stars Vega and Altair are visible in Japan from July to September. There's a couple of customs surrounding the festival, one of them is to write your wishes on paper strips and hang them on a bamboo tree. These trees are set afloat or burnt during the night. Tanabata is a very popular festival in Japan and often referred to as the most romantic night of the year. However, since in most regions, the rainy season lasts until August, the chances for clear skies are 30% on average and thus people pray for good weather several days in advance.

Go Yuri Go!!!, Yuri!!! on ICE official fanbook, Ise Mariya interview
Part 3.
-- What would you like to say to Yuuri, now that the GP series is over?
I: You've worked so hard! You were a crybaby, but seeing you so brisk, heading to the rink before that big event, with eyes full of unwavering determination and readiness, left such a strong impression on me. Your skating has only just started!! Me and the rest of Ice Castle Hasetsu gang will continue to support you always with pounding hearts, more than anyone else do!!
-- Please, give a message to all fans that support the show!
I: I'm glad that despite how many charming male characters we see in the series, the girls received an equal amount of love from the fans. As one member of the cast, who could be a part of this project, I'm really proud that not only anime fans, and not only from Japan, but people from the whole world love and support the show. Thank you for so much for the support!! I'm praying that we can see the next stage of Yuuri and the others... I'll be really happy, if you continue to support the series! Looking forward to it!
[Notes: Ends are always so sad... This fanbook was published in the middle of 2017 - the movie had been announced and it seemed like the most obvious thing in the world that the continuation would happen... Looking back from 2023... 💔💔
Would love to translate an interview with Sara, Milia or Lilia's VA, but unfortunately only Minako and Yuuko are in this book. ]

Passion
Hoo boy, this @viktuuri-week prompt was rough! But I think I wrestled it into shape! I hope you enjoy a dose of Passion!
⚬❀⚬
It started with a girl. One he admired, one who skated like an angel on the ice. Yuuri wanted to be Yuuko, so he laced up his skates and practiced endlessly, until he could match her every move.
Yet he never could quite figure out if his passion lay on the ice. Was it for the joy of feeling the glide of blades under his feet, or was it for the pride of skating on the same ice as the Madonna of Ice Castle Hasetsu?
It continued with a boy. On a snowy locker room television, watching the Junior World Championships and seeing the most beautiful thing he could ever imagine, silver hair flowing and perfect lines as he possessed the ice. Yuuri stared enraptured at Victor Nikiforov, and for the next 12 years of his life he never looked away.
It ended with a man, one Yuuri had chased for so long. Yuuri laced up his skates and poured his passion onto the ice, skating an ode to his idol, to Victor.
He never imagined that his solo skate would morph into a duet, or that he would show his passion for Victor to the world, hand in hand.

In celebration of their birthday, here are some Crispino twins-centered (or Mickey-centered or Sara-centered) fics. Happy birthday, Mickey and Sara! 🎉
Anastasis by SharkGirl / @jubesy [T, 10K]
If Sara wanted someone to grow up with her and give her unconditional love…couldn’t that be him?
He scowled, sulking as he stared out the window. “Stupid doll…” he muttered.
And from that moment on, Michele developed a severe distaste for the androids.
another girl in another time by cityboys [G, 11K]
Wouldn’t it be cool if there really is another version of you out there?
Beautiful in Knowing by @val-creative [T, 1K]
Sara knew she was a girl, even if nobody else did or believed her.
She ordered Michele to call her "Lady Sara" from now on. He would roll his eyes and grumble, but never attempt to misgender her. She liked "Sara" — it meant "lady, princess, noblewoman". And she would never go back to her deadname.
The Other Crispino by Songbirdsara [G, 2K]
Being a twin isn't all its cracked up to be, but Sara is used to living in Mickey's shadow. Still, if the world is going to ignore her on her birthday, at least she can have a good time with the rest of the skaters still hanging around Hasetsu...
If only she knew why everyone was being so nice to her!
***
A post-canon birthday fic for Sara Crispino; starring one oblivious Italian skater, a ninja castle, and the skate crew!

As the train gradually slows down, the familiar landscape of Hasetsu unfolds before them. The station platform welcomes them with its usual array of advertisements plastered on the walls—there’s that same stupid dating app for soulmates, among others. Yuri spots the worn benches where he often sits before departing for competitions, occasionally tossing bits of his breakfast to hungry birds.
“See you tonight, then,” Viktor says.
Yuri gathers his belongings, exits the train, and without looking back, sets off on a slightly longer route. He knows the house will be empty—they opted for the 4:30 train, a mere 90-minute journey to Hasetsu. Viktor will freshen up at the Ice Castle’s bathroom, change in his office, and join the team for training. Yuri, on the other hand, is excused for the day, instructed to rest after NHK.
Yuri’s thoughts drift as he imagines the lukewarm sand beneath his sneakers, and remembers the warmth of Otabek’s sun-kissed skin beneath his fingertips. A hint of salt infuses the air, carrying the invigorating essence of the ocean. He hasn’t messaged Otabek during his time in Fukuoka. Wasn’t he supposed to talk to him later?
Admittedly, it feels like a cowardly move, especially considering Otabek’s consistent messages. There are pictures of his bike, partially overgrown with weeds since he’s taken to running with Yuri instead. Then there are snapshots of the old cat, which—according to Otabek—resembles a wizard from Lord of the Rings, with its enormous white whiskers and graying fur. They made it a daily ritual to greet the cat on their way to the Ice Castle. Moreover, they’ve stopped taking the bus altogether, choosing to walk everywhere, prompting Otabek to send pictures of the sunset, the clouds resembling wild dogs with open mouths and dull teeth, painted in hues of pink alongside red.
The last message displayed on Yuri’s phone reads: congrats on silver. proud of u.

Across The Universe
Detroit: Yuri’s done the math. He done the research and the consideration and the planning. This will be his last year of competitive figure skating, and this time next year, he’ll be moving on to grad school. No matter what, though, Yuri hopes to hold onto Victor in any way that he can. Even if he has to compromise and change his own dreams to do it.
St. Petersburg: Victor is tired of compromising. Tired of having dreams deferred, of stealing moments in the off season and after competitions to spend time with Yuri. The way he sees it, there are only two options: keep Yuri in competitive skating, or find a way to stay by Yuri’s side after this year is through. Because if there’s anything that Victor knows for certain, it’s that he’s never letting anything come between him and his soulmate ever again.
But how far are Yuri and Victor willing to go to protect the other’s dreams? And with a whole universe separating them, will a soulmate bond really be enough to hold them together when it matters most?
**Part Three of the Defy the Stars Trilogy**
Soulmates!AU • College! AU(kinda) • Happy Ending
Read Chapter Twenty-Five here!
In which Yuri makes a friend while drifting aimlessly through Nationals.
Posting every Friday (ish), chapter preview below the cut
Celestino was back in Detroit. With nowhere to stay in the interim between the final and the Japanese National Championships, he’d elected to return to Michigan, spend the holiday with his family, and help give Phichit a little extra one-on-one time ahead of the Olympics in February. Which meant that Yuri was alone in Hasetsu to fend for himself, training wise. He knew what he needed to do to prep. He had already made arrangements at the Ice Castle to get ice time to train, outside of the odd hours he was inclined to show up.
Admittedly, though, he wasn’t overly inclined to go skating at all these days. He’d had slumps, sure. He’d had moments of doubt and indecision when it felt easier to give up than it did to keep going, but in the end, a thirst to prove himself had always prevailed. As a kid, he’d admired Victor enough that he wanted to skate on the same ice as his idol, and then, once he met Victor himself, and Victor had shown an unwavering faith in his abilities, his motivation had changed to showing Victor he was worthy of that faith. And, he’d wanted to show himself that he was worthy of his soulmate, that he could stand on equal footing with Victor.
But now he had skated with Victor both in competition and in practice, so he couldn’t fall back on his childhood motivation. And after fighting with Victor and losing Victor’s faith in him, he couldn’t continue towards his aspirations of proving himself to his soulmate, or worthy of his soulmate’s love for himself. He had nothing left to skate for, and with his season already on the downswing, he wasn’t sure it was worth it to keep trying.
Hobble through nationals, sure. Limp through Four Continents if he was unlucky enough to be sent to represent Japan. Resign himself to the Olympics if he was assigned to the team again, fine. But World’s? He didn’t want to go unless he had to. He just wanted to do away with all of it. Tuck Victor and this love affair into his past like his favorite old skating costumes were tucked away in a box in the attic. There for him to examine on nostalgic days, but never to be picked up and worn again.
In the end, he only went to the rink to practice because Minako burst into his room four days after he got home from the final and demanded to know why he wasn’t preparing for Nationals. So Yuri went, albeit extremely reluctantly. Practiced diligently without any heart. Yuuko kept giving him sad looks. Minako said outright that his programs had lost some spark, and poked and prodded to see what had happened to him at the finals, but Yuri always waved her off.

He felt lost, like he was drifting out in space like some forgotten satellite untethered from gravity, beyond his use, unable to send information back to Earth, unable to receive future direction. He wasn’t excited for Nationals, but he went. Got through practice on the first day, and then the second, and then survived the positions drawing on the third day. There were a lot of people there who were excited to see him. He smiled and took photos for them only because he knew Minako would yell at him later if he didn’t. But he felt guilty about it, because with all of their excitement and gushing about the Olympics, and where his career could go, and their unwavering faith that it would go on, he didn’t know how to tell them that he felt done. Dried up. Washed out. Ready to let go.

I'm having a déjà-vu that I've already posted about Yuuri's inner monologue at the beginning of episode 3 when he agonises about the stakes the Onsen on Ice has for him, but it's so hilarious that I need to pick it up again.
Tumblr media
What cracks me up is that right after explaining that Viktor will return to Russia if Yurio wins, Yuuri goes like, "If I win, Viktor will stay in Japan and be my coach." But Yuuri doesn't think of Viktor skating in Ice Castle or accompanying him during his workout—no, he thinks of Viktor flirting with him on his first night in Hasetsu.
Yes, you've read that right: While Yuuri explains what is at stake for him at the Onsen on Ice, he thinks of Viktor flirting with him.
Note also the warm colours and the blurred lines of the image that add an atmosphere of nostalgia to the scene, like a memory Yuuri holds dear...
...compared to the actual scene in episode 2:
Tumblr media
Seems like Yuuri isn't that opposed to Viktor's courtship endeavours, right?
Which leads me to the question: Is there anything else Yuuri wants Viktor to teach him except figure skating?
At this point, Yuuri is far from understanding sexual desire (that will come along with the discovery his Eros over the course of the story). He is also still far from being romantically interested in Viktor. To him, Viktor is a god-like creature he admires and has a crush on since he was 12, an fellow skater Yuuri copied over and over because he secretly craves to become his equal. And that is absolutely enough to be flustered when Viktor becomes flirty, even if the poor boy has no idea how to respond. (for clarification: crush, i.e. superficial fancy ≠ being in love, i.e. butterflies, wanting to date the other person, I had people trying to split hairs over this, no kidding)
Yuuri has been obsessed with Viktor throughout puberty and his entire adult life. That's long enough to have a whole library of fanboy fantasies in his brain. I believe that Viktor becoming his coach is a dream that formed in Yuuri long before the fateful banquet where he made Viktor crush on him. And what would be a better way to catch up to your idol than having said idol teach you? Where this fantasy is, there are bound to be others. After all, fantasies are a safe space, untethered from reality in the sense that the unhinged things Yuuri and Viktor would do in these are entirely decoupled from the things Yuuri would want from the real Viktor at some point in his existence because that fictional Viktor would be an abstract entity to project his fantasies upon, an ooc version of the real Viktor, and the fictional Yuuri would be an ooc version of the real Yuuri (I'm no longer talking about coaching figure skating. I'm talking about "Viktor-sensei, please teach me how to kiss!", or maybe even "Viktor-sensei, I want to do unspeakable things to you, please teach me how!", depending on how you headcanon Yuuri to act when he gets horny)
Yuuri's desire to emulate Viktor (and not necessarily being able to tell this apart from have Viktor around—yes, these two can be intertwined, and there are many hints in YOI that this is the case for Viktuuri), describes a characteristic of same-sex relationships that are depicted in other pieces of media, e.g. Bourne's Swan Lake or the novel Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman (I'd like to point you to that wonderful quote from this book).
I've digressed. My point is that Yuuri has still a long way to go until he figures out his feelings for Viktor. But this scene strongly suggests that he wants more from Viktor than keep on winning and keep on eating katsudon together, even though he might not yet be aware of the full extent of his wish.

Jackie in Japan - Karatsu
I was thinking of doing something a bit more interesting, like going to an onsen, but either they were far away or difficult to get to due to damage caused by the latest typhoon, a but further south from here. I'll gladly spend one hour in public transport to hang out wherever for about an hour, but I will not spend three hours in public transport each way only to stay someplace for an hour, especially not when I'm going alone.
So instead of going to Yufuin or Beppu, which both happen to remind me of a series that just make me annoyed, I went to Karatsu. While this has an even clearer link to an anime, it's at least one that doesn't make me mad. One is Zombiland Saga, which I haven't watched. The other is Yuri!! on Ice which I happen to actually like. I don't know if it got another name in Zombieland Saga, but in Yuri!! on Ice it is called Hasetsu, and part of the anime takes place there.
Don't get me wrong. The reason why I went there had only very little to do with anime. For one, thanks to the anime, I knew there is a castle there, so I can claim I went there for a tourist attraction. Another reason is that it's quick and easy to get to from where I live. A third reason is a festival that sounds interesting that takes place next month, which I might want to go to if I have time.
For those of you who don't know, Karatsu is located on Kyuushuu in Saga prefecture by the ocean. It classifies as a city, but is way smaller than Fukuoka and maybe it's because today is a Saturday, but it didn't feel anywhere near as lively. For starters, it wasn't crowded at all. I could go down some streets and not meet a single person. Also, some of the shops were clearly closed, or at least they looked closed to me. I think that was about 50% of them.
Other than that, my general impression was that I liked the city. It seemed peaceful, with the ocean nearby, and it looked very beautiful in the sun and the blue sky above. I didn't actually go to the castle tower, but I went for a walk in the park that surrounded it, which was also very nice and with a lot of ocean view, and you could see a few islands out there.
As for anime, there wasn't much to speak of. I found a Zombieland Saga poster in a tiny mall and that about sums up what there was.
Overall, I really liked Karatsu. If I had lived there and had to commute to university, I wouldn't have minded at all. It's not the most inconvenient place in Japan and I wouldn't mind going back.
Is there any place you have visited, Japan or any other country, that you wouldn't mind going back to?

Today's translation #597
Yuri!!! on ICE MAPPA Select book, Making of the animation
Part 6.
Ekonte of episode 2. and episode 12.
On these pages, we showcased mainly the process of production of episode 12. Bridges are one type of place a scene in Yuri!!! on ICE can take place in, that are used symbolically. Lets now compare the ekonte from episode 2. and episode 12. The top rows on the right side show a bridge in St. Petersburg that appeared in c4, c6 cuts of episode 2. Victor decided that he is going to take the next season off and he is saying goodbye to his coach, Yakov. It's a scene that depicts an important change. And to the left of that, we see cuts c268 and c269, in which we see Yuuri running. Yuuri is thinking about the distance between Yurio and Victor compared to the distance between him and Victor. "That Yuri has a greater chance to be successful and he is so self-confident in front of Victor...". Yuuri is running towards Ice Castle Hasetsu alone, as if running away from Victor and Yurio. He is crossing a bridge, but there is no-one there waiting for him on the other side. That time, Yuuri couldn't face with Victor and Yurio. After that, he polished his skating, working with Victor, and he developed as a person, getting his self-confidence and love, while competing with Yurio on the ice. In episode 12, we were shown that change that occurred in Yuuri over time. If you look at the cut on the bottom left, you can see that Yuuri is running in the opposite direction, compared to episode 2. and the two cuts create a pair. In episode 12. Victor and Yurio are waiting for him on the other end of the bridge. Yuuri's monologue is very memorable. "There are places that you cannot reach, if you don't carry a dream that is too big to carry alone. We call it love. Everything that happens on the ice." Yuuri, who was running across a bridge alone in episode 2. is now together with Victor and Yurio. The bridge in the last scene of episode 12. is carrying this kind of story. This scene, in which you can see the development that Yuuri have gone through, as he's depicted crossing a bridge, is particularly moving.
[Notes: How ingenious Sayo is as a director just never ceases to amaze me...]

Was that [KENTO YAMAZAKI]? Oh no no, that was just [YUURI KATSUKI], a/an [CANON CHARACTER] from [YURI!!! ON ICE]. They are [TWENTY-ONE] years old, use [HE/HIM], and [ARE] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
Tumblr media
Hi, welcome to Yuur’s introduction. He hasn’t been in Washington D.C. for long, barely a few months.
He is a competitive figure skater, still doing it in town and managed to get a job at the local rink.
Yuuri remembers not being from this town and is confused as to why he is even here, considering the last thing he remembers was getting ready for a new competition.
He remembers everyone from his past, before coming to town.
Yuuri has short, messy black hair and brown eyes. Yuuri wears half-rimmed blue glasses, but while he is skating, he removes them. He combs his hair backward when performing his programs before a crowd.Yuuri wore layers of clothing to hide his weight gain from binge eating. His warm-up outfit is usually a jacket and black pants with a stripe down the side. He wears gloves while skating and uses skates with standard blades.Yuuri gains weight easily, but when he is in top form, he also has slight muscle due to his exercise and ice skating. Nonetheless, his body, especially his face, maintains a soft appearance, regardless of physical form.
Yuuri is known to be "the figure skater with the world's biggest glass heart." He is soft-hearted and easily devastated in the face of failureーso much so that he can slip into a depression for months at a time. He is a kind, quiet and easily embarrassed boy, but he is also shown to be stubborn and extremely competitive.
Yuuri was born in Hasetsu, Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, where his family owns and operates the last bathhouse inn remaining in the town.Yuuri began figure skating as a child at Ice Castle with his childhood friends, Yuuko Nishigori and Takeshi Nishigori. His ballet teacher, Minako Okukawa, was the one who had recommended him to learn figure skating.Currently, Yuuri is a top figure skater certified by JSF (Japan Skating Federation). When he was 18, Yuuri moved to Detroit to train under Coach Celestino Cialdini and ended up staying there for five years.

Hello! Thank you for everything you do it’s been a blast reading thru the things in the master list. I was wondering if you had any fics about outsider POVs on the characters of YOI? Like if they go to university and their friends just don’t notice that they’re famous figure skaters, or their neighbours are like huh what’s up with that well dressed couple with the weird pet names and the angry blond teen. Really anything with outsider POVs is fine !! Thank you !!
Hello, nonnie! If you go through the ao3 tag (or search within results) Skygem retirement AU, you'll find lots of fics with a similar premise as your request. Here are the ones I rec, both in the context of retirement AU and ousider POV in general:
"Unfairly Beautiful Japanese Boy" by @diedraechin [T, 4K]
Sofia was sure of a few things in her life, two of those things were:
1) Even though the dog was cute, she was sure the owner was taking advantage of her abuela's kind heart
2) The 'Unfairly Beautiful Japanese Boy' she kept seeing on campus had to be an angel because look at him.
Only one of them was true.
An Introspection of Life and Love by awesomecookies [Not rated, 16K]
Alice really didn't expect to ride a bullet train to some sea side village when she accepted her editor's advice. But she needed space. She needed a place to think. And maybe Hasetsu was just the right place.
and a look that could just hypnotize by @forestealites [G, 4K]
They say that a demon stole away Victor Nikiforov.
Misha, Petro, and Sonya of the Novice group try to figure out the mystery that is Yuuri Katsuki. It goes about as well as you'd expect.
And the answer is... by nessiesaur [G, 2K]
Yuuri Katsuki is adorable, but also one of the most mature people in their class. Yuuri Katsuki is in her study group, which definitely saved her ass on the midterm. Yuuri Katsuki is…wait, who is he!?
Clippings by @radialarch [G, 3K]
Four seasons, four articles — and one future.
five theories about victor "my husband" nikiforov (+ one fact) by @dadvans [Not Rated, 2K]
No one knows the truth about the strange, well-paying man who comes into the bar three times a week and only talks about his husband. But everyone has their theories.
icebreaker by @codenamecesare [G, 6K]
Yuuri's husband is possibly not as oblivious as he seems, because he grins and asks, "Have you never looked up Yuuri?"
"There's a porn actress with the same name who went into politics," says Nate, "so she's most of the results, and some stuff about figure skating."
"Some stuff about figure skating," Victor says ruefully to Yuuri.
Jason's Master Plan (to dating the Cute Asian Guy) by Qwertzu [T, 10K]
Jason Hesling, young ice hockey prodigy, rising star of Detroit Ice Tigers and part-time model, had a smile that made women and men alike weak at their knees. It’s been a while since anyone managed to catch his attention – until he met the Cute Asian Guy at Detroit Ice Castle and decided to become his next boyfriend.
Meanwhile, the actual Ice Tiger™ is having the time of his life watching the pretentious JJ-wannabe trying to charm the pants off the completely oblivious, happily married Katsudon.

Just because Yuuri isn't big on social media, doesn't mean his fans aren't.
My fun fact is: by stillmadaboutpetra [G, 6K]
Yuuri fails to mention to his new non-skater friends who he is or who his husband is. Or that he even has a husband.
Queer Club Surprise by DancingInTheSliverGlow / @art-in-the-sunlight [G, 5K]
The door at the front of the class opens. A tall Russian man, probably in his late twenties walks in. He has ash blond hair that’s half in a messy bun and half spilling down his shoulders. He’s wearing a suit vest, dress shirt, dark jeans and a messenger bag. He’s definitely the professor.
Although it is strange, a Russian with a Japanese last name, Katsuki. Eileen mentally shrugs. She’s seen weirder things.
Eileen watches as the Russian looks at the front of the classroom, checks his phone and frowns. He climbs up to the third row and smiles. Eileen distantly notices that his lips are heart shaped. “Hi! Is this, Japanese 101?”
Eileen nods. “Yeah.”
The man smiles again and Eileen blinks. “Great! Mind if I sit next to you?”
Despite asking, the man barely waits for Eileen to nod before he slides behind her chair and sits in the empty one on her right. Huh. Guess he’s a student then.
