Kate Bishop blushes despite herself when you flirt back and it causes her to miss, cursing under her breath as she loads up the next arrow
Kate Bishop wishes you were on this mission with her, she loves to see you kicking villain ass and then taking you to dinner later, burgers mostly because nothing else is open so late at night
Kate Bishop can't help but break in through your window after her mission, with said burgers in hand because she was absolutely craving them, and more then that she needed to see her girlfriend and kiss her after a mission well done

Thawing the Widow: Chapter 3 - The Interrogation
Chapter Summary: Cat is interrogated, which is mildly annoying. And the redheaded lady won't stop pointing a gun at her. Rude. Do they think she's a terrorist or something?
Chapter Warnings: Hints of child abuse flashbacks, guns, swearing.
Notes: Thank you for such a positive response on the last chapter! Please keep reviewing/liking/reblogging if you enjoy! Next chapter is posted Thursday 5PM PST! Happy reading!

December - Safehouse
The first thing Cat noticed was that she was tied to a chair. It was a really uncomfortable wooden chair, which didn’t make sense because all of the furniture in the room had been cushy and well-made. Did they reserve this chair just for tying people in? What made it more uncomfortable was that her hands were bound behind her back and her legs were each tied to a leg of the wooden chair. Another rope wrapped around her torso, binding her to it completely. She felt helpless, like a trapped fly stuck in a web.
And yet, the most noticeable part of her predicament wasn’t the chair. It was the muzzle of the gun, which was focused right above her left eye, obscuring half her vision.
Cat’s breath quickened. She could feel her heartbeat in her ears. Her insides were trembling like Jell-O. For a few seconds, fear was so overwhelming that she couldn’t move.
The only thing she could think of was Trevor had a gun, Trevor had a gun. He’d kept next to the liquor cabinet, behind the tequila. That made her think of the time she’d spilled one of his beers on the carpet. She’d realized her mistake before the bottle hit the ground. Trevor had been yelling his head off about a stain. With shaking hands, she’d tried to mop it up but only succeeded in spreading it. That crazy look in his eyes— wild, furious, insane. One second he’d been beside her, the next she was staring at the unfriendly end of a gun. Her entire body had frozen, locked in place. She couldn’t move. She’d thought for sure he’d shoot, and for a moment welcomed the darkness—
Cat squeezed her eyes shut, trying to forget. Except she couldn’t forget. She could never forget. Instead, she pushed the memory away— by now, she was a master of this— and shifted her attention to the voice behind the gun. It was a woman’s voice. Low and raspy.
“...come in, Barton. There’s an intruder in the safehouse.”
The woman seemed to be talking to another person, but as far as Cat could tell, she was the only person in the room. She hadn’t seemed to notice that Cat was awake yet. She stayed very still, heart pounding against her ribcage.
The woman’s voice paused. “Yes, I’m sure, because I’m pointing a gun to her head.” She glanced down, saw that Cat was awake, and muttered something unintelligible in another language, sounding like either Russian or Ukranian. (Cat had learned both one time when she was bored.)
Cat struggled wildly in the chair, trying in vain to escape. She couldn’t, of course. The ropes held strong.
“Rise and shine,” the woman said, bending down so that her piercing green eyes bore into Cat’s own.
Still shaky from the memory of Trevor, Cat hated that her voice trembled when she spoke. “W-what the hell, lady! Why do you have a gun?”
“Don’t move,” the woman ordered with an off-putting calmness.
This was no time to be scared. Cat counted off the beats of her heart as it slowed.
“How can I?” Her voice was even again. “You tied me to a chair. You couldn’t have tied me to one of those nice sofas?”
Taco, she remembered. Where was he? While she spoke, her eyes did a quick scan of the room for him. She was relieved to see him dozing behind a corner, hidden from view. She prayed that he stayed that way, and maybe the woman wouldn’t shoot him. Cat didn’t know what kind of psychopath would shoot such an adorable beagle, but she wasn’t about to take any chances with this woman.
She was clearly dangerous. Dark red hair, intense eyes, prominent features. The way she held the gun told Cat that she likely had shot many things before, perhaps beagles even more adorable than Taco. She was wearing some type of strange black leather catsuit, like spies did in movies.
“Are you a spy?” Cat blurted, then thought, Damn. ADHD impulsivity.
“I ask the questions here.” Her voice now had an edge to it; it was low and threatening. “Now, I’m only going to ask this once. Who do you work for?”
Cat was caught off guard. “Huh?”
The woman rolled her eyes, momentarily losing the edge. “Did I or did I not just say that I was only going to say it once?”
“Okay, no offense, but what’s the point of only saying it once? Is that like, a power move or something? And it seems kind of inconvenient, especially when you insist on asking vague and confusing questions. Those should be asked at least twice!”
The woman shoved her gun into Cat’s head. (Cat fought down a sea of memories. Trevor, Trevor, Trevor.) “Answer the question.”
“I don’t work for anyone! I’m ten. Who’s gonna hire me to do anything?”
“How did you get in here?” the woman demanded.
“I— what? I don’t know— I used the door, I guess.”
“It was locked. How did you break in?”
“What is this, an interrogation?”
The woman looked at her like she was unbelievably stupid. “Yes. That’s literally what this is. Did the gun and the fact that you’re tied to a chair not make it clear enough?” She leaned in closer. “Do you need me to break a bone to prove it to you?”
Cat leaned as far away as possible. “No! No, please don’t do that!”
“Excellent. So you should have no problem answering the question.”
Cat squirmed uncomfortably. “Uh, well— I wouldn’t say I broke in. I feel like that’s a strong phrase, you know? Kinda makes me look like a criminal…”
The woman’s gun clicked against her head. Involuntarily, Cat flinched. “Talk, or I shoot.”
“Jesus! I picked the damn lock, okay? Look, I’m sorry. I swear, I didn’t steal anything— I mean, I did steal some things, but technically I haven’t stolen anything because I haven’t left this place yet, which means that the things I stole— I mean, didn’t steal— are still here. Making them unstolen.”
Cat’s gaze landed on the empty tray of peanut butter chocolate cookies. She felt a stab of guilt. Maybe it was best not to mention that specific part of her breaking and entering. Not that it mattered— the woman looked like she was going to kill her anyhow.
“What did you take?”
“Nothing!”
“You have ten seconds to tell me the truth.” The woman started counting at an alarmingly fast pace. “Ten, nine, eight, seven…”
“Those aren’t mississippis!” Cat protested.
For a second, the woman paused. “Excuse me?”
“In school, you’ve gotta go, ‘One-mississippi-two-mississippi-three—’”
“I’m going to shoot you.”
Cat caved. “It’s all in the bag!”
“What bag?”
“It’s a hideous pink backpack, covered in stupid butterflies!”
The woman’s arm reached out, and for a second Cat thought she was going to slap her— Operating on instinct, she flinched, hands going up to cover her face, only to be restrained by the ropes binding them to the chair. But the woman hadn’t laid a hand on her. Instead, she’d grabbed Cat’s backpack from the couch behind her. Although, she did frown at Cat’s reaction.
“You mean this one?”
“Yeah,” Cat said, relieved.
The woman stared at it a moment. “You’re right. It is hideous.”
“I didn’t pick it. My uncle did.”
“Your uncle has terrible taste.”
“Thank you— hey!”
The woman was emptying out the contents of the backpack on the floor. All the first aid supplies, snacks, and clothes she’d carefully positioned so that it just fit inside spilled out. Finally, wads and wads of money spilled out from the bottom. Twenties littered the floor. The woman didn’t seem to be finding what she was looking for— what she thought Cat stole.
“I didn’t steal all of that!” Cat said quickly. “Only the food and the rest of the supplies. The clothes, the money are all—”
“Money you stole?” the woman demanded.
Cat instantly backtracked. “No! Well, yes, I stole it— but not from here! I took it from my uncle Trevor’s apartment when I ran away. Trust me, if you knew him, you’d steal his money too.”
“What did you steal from here?”
“Just food, band-aids, water— that’s it, I swear!”
“Let me rephrase myself. What else did you steal from here?”
Suddenly, the door flew open and a man barrelled through the door. He was dressed in a black uniform as well, but it was different from the woman’s. His was a bulky vest, with only one sleeve covering an entire arm. His exposed forearm on his other arm had an armguard. He held a compound bow in his hand, with a quiver of arrows slung over his shoulder.
“Help! Help!” Cat yelled at him. “This crazy lady’s trying to kill me!”
The woman frowned at her. “That’s a little insulting.”
“You know what’s really insulting?” Cat fired back. “Pointing a freaking gun at me!”
The man pointed at her with his bow— Jesus Christ, what was it with today and people pointing dangerous weapons at her— and glanced at the woman. “Please don’t tell me that’s the intruder.”
“Of course it’s the intruder. Why else would she be tied to a chair?”
The arrow man paused. “You’re kidding, right? Natasha— she’s just a kid, barely out of kindergarten. She’d can’t possibly be the target. If anything, she looks like a homeless kid, who accidentally got inside the safehouse. ”
Although she didn’t have the slightest idea what they were talking about, Cat felt a spurt of indignation. Barely out of kindergarten! She knew she was on the smaller side, but why rub it in?
“Just a kid! I’m not just a kid. And what makes you think I can’t be the target? If I wanted to be the target, I would be the target! Only, I’m not the target because I don’t even know what that is!” Then, unable to suppress a dig at his garb, she smirked. “Nice outfit, by the way. Is it Halloween already?”
Arrow Man gaped at her. He turned to Natasha. Cat turned to look at her as well, just in time to see her wiping a faint smirk from her face. “Did I just get insulted by a kindergartener?”
“She’s not just a kindergartener,” Natasha pointed out, face stony once again. “She’s an intruder.”
“I’m an intruder, and I’m not in kindergarten,” Cat interjected. “I’m in the fourth grade.”
“I don’t give a sh—”
“Natasha!” Arrow Man protested. “She’s a kid! You can’t swear in front of a kid.”
“Stop calling me a fucking kid, please,” said Cat.
Natasha raised an eyebrow at Arrow Man, who was slack-jawed. “The kid just swore in front of the kid.” Then she told Cat, “You know, people generally stop talking when a gun’s being pointed at them.”
“Right, sorry.” Cat stayed silent for two seconds before piping up again. “Speaking of guns being pointed at heads— can you, like, not? You’re making me uncomfortable.”
Natasha sighed to Arrow Man. “I hate children. Let’s gag her.”
“Then how would we get any intel from her? How did she get in, anyway?”
“Claims that she picked the lock. She’s obviously lying, because we just got the new high-security ones installed.”
Arrow Man coughed, and did a very bad job of pretending he wasn’t avoiding eye contact. His voice had notably raised in pitch. “ Well… ”
Natasha’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Her expression read You idiot. “Is there something you want to tell me?”
“Not really.”
Her tone sent a shiver down Cat’s spine. “Barton.”
Aha! So his name was Barton. Cat filed that away for future reference. Probably a last name.
He winced. “Okay, so there’s a slight chance that I forgot to—”
Before he finished his sentence, Natasha started cussing him out in a language that Cat recognized as Russian. Violently. And quite graphically. To put it lightly, some of the things she was saying were not PG. She’d lowered her gun, gesturing wildly in the air, but Cat was too open mouthed to even think about making a run for it. The whole thing probably lasted twenty seconds.
“Jesus, Natasha!” Barton gasped once she ran out of air. “There’s a kid right there!”
“So? She can’t understand it.”
Cat scoffed at her. “Shows how much you know. I understood every word you said.”
Barton shot Natasha an I told you so look.
Natasha was more skeptical. “Oh, really? What did I say, then?” she challenged.
Cat repeated it back to her.
Natasha and Barton both stared at her. The woman regained her composure first. “How do you know Russian?” she asked suspiciously.
“I learned it.”
“Why?”
“I was bored.”
They exchanged a look. Neither looked like they believed her.
“If anything, this proves my point,” Natasha told Barton quietly. “Why would a random kid off the street know how to speak Russian if she wasn’t…” She trailed off, exchanging a meaningful expression with him.
A new understanding flooded into his face. “You don’t think she’s…”
“Maybe,” Natasha muttered darkly. “They have been known to take in kids.”
“Wait a second,” Cat said. “Who’s ‘they’? You think I’m a terrorist, or something?”
“Or something.”
Arrow Man regarded Cat thoughtfully. “She’d have to be a pretty amazing actor, if she is what you think she is.”
“But I’m not!” Cat exploded. “I swear I’m not!”
“Then prove it,” Natasha said coolly.
“How can I?” Cat asked desperately. “It’s not like I have a sign hanging above my head that reads ‘Not a Terrorist!’”
“Sounds like a you problem. Whatever it is you’re going to do, you better do it fast. You have two minutes before I decide to kill you.”
Barton leaned into Natasha to whisper, but Cat still caught what he was saying. “You’re not actually going to murder her, right?”
The woman elbowed him hard in the ribs. Cat could tell it was painful because of the way his face twisted. She was a better whisperer, because Cat couldn’t make out what she said in his ear.
Natasha frowned at her. “What are you waiting for? You have a minute and forty seconds now.”
Cat started spilling her entire life story. If there was one thing she was good at, it was talking and talking fast. “My full name is Catalina Gray. I’m ten years old. I’m not a terrorist. I used to live in California but then six months ago I had to move in with my uncle Trevor in New York. And New York is horrible because everyone’s mad all the time, except for Trevor, who was drunk all the time, and that lady Kimberly tried to get me to a foster home, but I was like ‘No way Jose’ and I ran away. And for like a week I was homeless but I think I’m getting better at it. And then yesterday I was looking for a place to sleep and then I found the alley and that’s how I found the door.” She stopped for a breath.
“It was pitch-black outside,” Natasha pointed out. “And the entire wall is painted black. There’s no way you saw it.”
“No, wait, I didn’t! Taco did!”
“A… taco told you where the door was?” Barton asked dubiously. He turned to Natasha and whispered conspiratorially, “Sounds suspicious to me.”
Natasha raised her eyes to the ceiling.
“No, Taco’s my dog!” Cat suddenly had an idea. She called out excitedly, forgetting that there was a woman pointing a gun at her. “And he’s right there! Taco! Taco! C’mere!”
Taco’s head lifted. He bound up excitedly and ran over to Cat, leaping into her lap. He didn’t seem to grasp the seriousness of the situation.
“Aww,” said Arrow Man. “It’s a beagle! I’ve always wanted one of those.”
Natasha looked like she wanted to elbow him again.
“Yeah, aren’t they adorable?” Cat beamed at him for a moment, recognizing a fellow dog person, before remembering that they were both trying to kill her.
Natasha snapped at her. “The dog’s adorableness is not relevant. How did you get past the door?”
“Right, so after Taco noticed the door, I picked the lock with my knife—”
Natasha glowered darkly at Barton. He made a face at her.
“—the door opened, and I just assumed no one was in here, so I thought it wouldn’t do any harm to take a long around—” She paused. “And you know what? I ate every— single— freaking one of those peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious.”
“What did you say?” Arrow Man demanded. He seemed to notice the empty tray of cookies. “There’s not a single one of them left?” He turned to Natasha. “Who does that?”
Natasha sighed, finally lowering the gun and jammed it into a holster. “This is ridiculous.”
Cat wondered how long she’d been holding it up for, and how sore her arms must be. Was she even human? Despite this unanswered question tugging at her, she felt like a huge pressure had been lifted off her shoulders. Now that the threat of the gun had drained away, she could feel the tension in her shoulders loosening.
“Does that mean you believe me?”
“It means that the probability that you’re a sad little orphan who just happens to know Russian is higher than the…” She paused. “...other alternative.”
“What Natasha means to say was,” Barton corrected, “she was wrong and I was right, as always, and she’s very sorry and won’t threaten to shoot you ever again.”
“Well, she’s very annoying, so the probability that I might shoot her in the future is actually quite high. Plus, she ate all of the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, and that’s an offense I’m not sure I can forgive.”
Cat smiled uneasily. “That’s a joke. You’re joking, right?”
“I take peanut butter cookies very seriously.”
“She’s joking,” Barton reassured her, then added under his breath, “Probably.”
“So… can I be untied now? This chair really is uncomfortable.”
Natasha and Barton exchanged a glance, like What are we supposed to do with her?
Cat groaned. “You’re not seriously going to keep me tied here? I already told you, I’m innocent!”
“Except for running away, breaking and entering, and admitting theft,” Natasha said.
“I never admitted to stealing.”
“You did. Several times, but that’s not the point.”
“We still have a mission to finish,” Barton muttered to Natasha.
“There’s only one more target. It’s not crucial. Only one of us needs to go,” Natasha said, straightening. “So one of us can stay behind and get rid of her.”
Get rid of her? What did that mean? Kill her? Sedate her? Throw her in the river? Cat wanted to know. She didn’t voice her questions; she doubted they would answer her anyway. The way they were talking about “missions” and “targets,” it was safe to assume they were either spies for some covert government agency. Which made them a) dangerous, and b) slightly impressive.
Which probably meant that their definition of “getting rid of her” was definitely leaning towards the “killing her” side.
Which was bad. Obviously.
Cat needed an escape plan. Her eyes darted around the perimeter of the room, seeking sharp objects she could use to untie herself. But even if she did manage to do that, how would she escape without them noticing? By the looks of them, both were well trained and had a large number of weapons. She wasn’t even armed. It was hopeless.
Barton and Natasha were too busy staring at each other to notice her looking around for an escape route, seeming to communicate solely through their eyes.
Suddenly, Barton yelled, “Not it!”
Natasha groaned. “The rules of ‘not it’ do not apply here.”
His voice lowered, so that Cat had to really focus in order to hear it. “You know I’m the better choice. We both know long distance isn’t your thing.”
“I can handle myself with a gun.”
“Yeah, but face it, I’m better. I’ve got these babies.” Barton patted the quiver of arrows. “What, are you scared of me leaving you with some kid?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. I’m not scared of the kid.”
“You totally are, though. You’re scared of the kid.”
“Shut up, moron,” Natasha murmured in Russian, so low that Cat could barely pick it up. “I’m not.”
Barton slipped her a cheeky grin. “Sounds like everything should be fine, then. See you in a bit.”
Natasha grabbed for his wrist. “You can’t just—”
Barton was prepared. He yanked his arm back just in time to escape her grip, dodged the punch she threw at him, and backflipped over the couch. It happened so quickly Cat barely had time to register that it happened until it did. Within seconds, he’d swiped a can of Pringles from the mess left on the floor that Cat’s backpack had made, and was out the door.
Natasha swore angrily after his retreating back, this time in a language Cat didn’t recognize. She could tell she was swearing because of how she said it, though, like the words were something disgusting that she was spitting out.
“Um, hi,” Cat said, in case the woman had forgotten about her.
Natasha’s gaze flitted back to her, but it was so furious that, for a moment, Cat’s words got stuck in her throat.
“Any chance you’ll let me go now?”

BOYFRIEND
Tumblr media
PAIRINGS: Kate bishop x reader
WORD COUNT: 1,149
WARNINGS: smut, cheating (R had a husband), kitchen sex, breeding, Kate has a dick, being caught, blood kink, knife kink, use of knives, kinda playboy!Kate, degrading, praise kink, think that’s all :)
NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO STEAL, COPY, OR REBLOG MY WORK AS THEIR OWN!!
Your walls clamped tightly around the younger woman’s cock as she drove into you, forcing her hand over your mouth in order to silence your loud moans. Your eyes squeezed shut while your body continued to rock back and forth, her smirk only bringing you more annoyance combined with a sick pleasure. Your husband was sleeping a singular room away, your body being placed on the cold counter of the kitchen as Kate stood in front of you. Her clothes had been discarded previously along with yours, creating a small pile of fabric by her feet but neither of you could care less about the mess.
“You need to be quiet, slut. Weren’t you just worrying about him hearing you?” She muttered in a hushed tone, yet you could still hear it loud and clear as the words seeped into your mind, the degrading nickname sending you into spirals. She picked up on this.
“Awh, you like it when Daddy tells you how bad you are? You must fucking love it, I can feel you clenching around me.” She moaned lowly, goosebumps traveling across her body as a chill went down her spine. You weren’t the first to be panting beneath her, but you were definitely her favorite sight out of all.
“C’mon, tell me, tell me how much you love it.” She removed her hand from your face, and before you could even process what she had done, whimpers were escaping you faster than the speed of light.
“I-I love it, Daddy.” She slapped your cheek, causing the rising tears to suddenly fall onto the now reddened skin.
“You love what, baby?” You threw your head back, hands fumbling to find her biceps as you held onto her for dear life. Her grip landed on your thighs as she held you firmly, her face close as she created marks of her arrival on your neck.
“I love it when- fuck! I love it when you treat me like a bitch, wanna be your slut.” She groaned, chuckling darkly in response. You should’ve never let her back in, but when she came to your door late at night after sending you a quick yet truthful ‘I miss you’ message, you knew there was no hope. You felt so shameful for acting on such sins, but it felt so heavenly when her cock would tear you up in ways your husband could never do.
That’s when it all started, her pinning you to the wall as she groped you through the loose pajamas you had worn for your partner, only to receive a small compliment before he went to bed, not even registering what you were ensuing or just not wanting it. Kate would never. She’d never miss an opportunity to worship your body in all the ways he failed to do. She thought, no, knew he was a fucking idiot for not falling to his knees and begging to make sweet love to you right then and there, so it was her job to make up for it.
“Maybe I’ll get you on your knees to suck me off like a dirty whore. You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” You nodded sharply, placing your chin on her shoulder as she inhaled your scent. It was her favorite perfume, the one she bought you during her shopping spree where only you were on her mind, resulting in thousands of dollars worth of clothing, expensive jewelry, and slutty lingerie, none that were meant for your husband's eyes.
She fluttered her eyes open as her sight landed on a knife holder placed on the same counter you were just on, now you were in her arms and it was even better.
“Here’s the deal, baby,” She started. “You’re gonna cum all over my cock and in return, I’m gonna fill up this pretty cunt. Then, I’m gonna take that knife, and ‘ima carve my name on your beautiful body. So whenever Steve wants to fuck you, he’ll see that you’re all mine.” There was a part of you that feared the pain she’d cause, but the other side of you craved it. You craved her touch, whether it was sweet or painful, you wanted it all.
“Please- need your babies, Daddy.” You pulled on her long, black hair that caused an ache in her scalp, but she didn’t mind. Your feet dug into her ass, your legs around her waist starting to become sore.
“I’ll make you a Mommy, baby girl, I fucking promise.” She grabbed the sharp object, now holding your entire weight in just one arm. Her strength had always amazed you.
The blade sunk into you, causing you to let out a silent scream. She bit her lip as blood seeped out of you, droplets landing on the counter and floor. It hurt so bad, but it felt so good.
“You doing okay?” She asked in the heat of the moment, and you could feel the care she held for you, creating a puddle of warmth in your heart.
“Yeah, ju-just keep going…please?” She didn’t give a worded response, only continuing as you asked. You looked down, noticing the letter being carved into your soft skin. It was a K, and you realized there would be no hiding it from Steve. This was it. This was the moment when everything would change for better or for worse.
Her thrusts weren’t as fast but exchanged for a deep, powerful desire. She didn’t want to ruin her creation, she wanted it to be perfect, it’s what you deserved.
“Nothing but the best for my princess.” She admired her work before disposing of the knife, letting her thumb brush over the open wound. Now she could fulfill her promise, now she could release her finish deep inside of you like both of you had been wanting for months now. Ever since you two slept together for the first time, it all changed. You couldn’t get enough of one another, you’d grown addicted as if she was some sort of drug, a highly illegal drug that is.
“Cum.” A small phrase did so much as your release instantly hit, bringing Kate even closer. She wasn’t letting you go, not even when her thrusts stilled in response to her cum filling you up, a few drops leaking out of you and joining the mess on the floor.
“Take it. Fucking take it, whore.” You choked out a sob as you felt your womb being filled to the brim, just like she planned.
“I hope you get pregnant, just so I can show that bitch you’re mine.” There was a small moment of silence between the two of you, the only sound being your shared pants and your winces whenever she brushed over your torn skin.
“Y/N? Honey, is that you?” You both shared a look of fear when the deep voice was heard.
“Shit.”

Falling asleep waiting up for them
Staying up for them can go into the late hours, and before you know it, the sandman has casted his spell on you. When they come home to find you passed out on the couch, they feel a twinge of guilt.
Cross Guild
CW: SFW, headcanons, gn!reader, fluff
Mihawk: He'd sigh upon first seeing you. You knew he was coming home late, so why would you exhaust yourself waiting up for him? Looking down at your sleeping form, your chest rose and fell with each soft breath you took. You'd curled yourself in a ball and had a blanket wrapped tightly around you.
Gently picking you up, so as not to wake you, he couldn't help noticing how peaceful you looked as you slept. Changing your position made you stir a bit, but he held you close, admiring your sweet face.
Carrying you off to bed, he eased you onto the mattress. Turning over, you dreamily asked him how his day was. He assured you that it was fine and told you to go to sleep. Brushing your hair aside, he placed a kiss on your forehead and hoped he'd be able to join you shortly.
Crocodile: When he noticed you weren't in bed, he assumed you'd fallen asleep on the sofa. The light for the hall casted on your face, making you stir. Not wanting to wake you, he brushed past the creeky door and left it slightly ajar.
"You silly thing," he mumbled to himself. How could something like passing out on the sofa warm his heart this much? Easing you into his arms, he was trying not to let your gentle expression lure him into kissing your cheek.
You were curled up close to his chest when he brought you into the bedroom. Still clinging to his collar, your small hand was reluctant to let go. Despite feeling slightly annoyed, a part of him didn't want you to leave his embrace—deciding that it couldn't hurt to take a few moments to rest beside you.
Buggy: Finally returning home, he wasn't expecting to find you passed out on the couch. Even though he hmphed at you, he couldn't fight off the affection that was stirring: your gentle breaths that puffed your hair off your lips and the slight twitches from the dreams you were having.
Unfolding his arms, he attempted to find the best way to pick you up without disturbing your slumber. Having you in his arms brought on a sense of tranquility. Seeing you this peaceful felt like he'd found something that was once lost.
Taking his time back to the bedroom, he wanted to soak in each moment of you like this. Placing you on the bed, you lazily wrapped yourself in the covers and stretched your legs. You were too precious to leave; he thought it'd be best—for you of course—if he stayed with you. The work he still had would be waiting for him in the morning.

make you mine this season [K.Bishop]
Tumblr media
pairing: kate bishop x barton!reader
summary: a badly timed snowstorm leaves you unable to make it to the barton farm for christmas. thankfully, a certain archer shows up to keep you company.
warnings: none, i think? just really cheesy, holiday rom-com type of fluff [i say this as if i've watched any holiday rom-com besides happiest season and the holiday 😶]; kate's a dork [wow, what a shock]; idiots in love; past mentions of bishova; bad jokes?; snowstorm; cheesy gifts bc kate can't talk about her feelings
wordcount: 1.5k
a/n: HI, EVERYONE, I'M ALIVE! and it wouldn't be a rubix fic if it WASN'T posted a little late 😅 i hope you all had a fantastic holiday season and that you'll accept this very cheesy Christmas fic <3 [and maybe that last line is very self-indulgent but that's none of your business, if you know you know]
* * * * * * *
You’re no stranger to loneliness but things were bordering on ridiculous. Not only have you spent the past two years ridiculously in love with a certain purple-loving archer, you’re also on the verge of spending Christmas by yourself thanks to the worst-timed snowstorm of all time.
And maybe the first part of your unfortunate situation is your fault but that doesn’t stop the waves of disappointment from crashing into you.
This year was supposed to be different.
That’s what you had told yourself in an effort to convince yourself to tell the young archer about your feelings for her. It was a strategy that almost worked…until a certain blonde decided to accept Kate’s offer for drinks…which turned into a date…which turned into a second date…which turned into the longest four months of your life.
You could never be one to be mad at someone else’s happiness but that didn’t stop you from feeling absolutely defeated every time you saw them together. There was no one to blame except you for the brunette’s lack of knowledge about your feelings and that only made everything worse.
It was impossible to ignore the ache in your chest when your eyes met Kate’s or the heavy jealousy that clouded most of your interactions with her. Maybe if you had been less into your head about the whole thing, you would have realized the way the archer’s smile never seemed to reach her eyes.
Eyes that followed you every time you walked away.
You never noticed the traces of darkness that clung to her usually radiant persona but you were the first person at her side when the break up happened. She offered little to no details besides an awkward joke about the relationship ending almost exactly where it started right at the Rockefeller tree.
It was messed up in a way that made Kate want to make as many jokes about it as possible which resulted in you laughing at things that definitely weren’t funny and were just sad. Not as sad as spending the holidays completely alone and hopelessly in love with your best friend, though.
You were sure the archer was already well on her way to your dad’s farm which leaves you completely unprepared when the door to your apartment swings open to reveal her. She almost drops the key in her hand the second she realizes you’re home.
“What’re you doing here?” You question, doing your best to pretend you don’t see the gift bags she tries to hide behind her back.
You can practically see the wheels turning in her head before she’s finally able to respond. “What am I doing here? What are you doing here? Why aren’t you at Clint’s?”
It’s hard not to laugh at the incredulous look on her face. No matter how many times you see it, it’s still as endearing as the first time. Back when she was just your dad’s protege and you hadn’t spent so many of your days learning the ins and outs of her complicated personality.
“Did the incoming snowstorm happen to slip your mind?”
“No, I just thought you’d want to go anyway,” she replies with a small shrug.
“I’d rather not crash, Lila will never let me hear the end of it.”
Your words make her tilt her head to the side, the slightest hint of a pout on her face. “So…what, you’re just going to spend Christmas alone?”
“Yup. Kate, I’m not a kid anymore, nothing will happen if I spend one day by myself.”
“But it’s Christmas!” She exclaims, looking borderline offended that you’re so comfortable spending the holiday alone.
“Is that why you’re breaking into my apartment?” You ask in a foolish attempt to stop yourself from asking her to spend the day with you.
Just because she thought about you long enough to come drop off her, no doubt ridiculously expensive, gifts for you does not mean she wants to spend the holiday with you when she could easily spend it with anyone else.
The pink hue that overtakes her cheeks is a better gift than anything that could be inside the bags in her hand. “Well, uh…maybe…”
She finally gathers enough courage to get rid of the distance between you with a bright, albeit nervous, smile on her face. You half-expect her to launch into some long ramble about why she just couldn’t stop herself from buying an insane amount of gifts for you this year but she doesn’t.
For once in her life, Kate Bishop makes things easy for herself.
“I didn’t think I was going to make it to the farm on time so I was just going to drop these off for you…” She holds out the bag for you and you do your best to calm the rapid beating of your heart as you take it.
“Can I open it right now or will you get embarrassed?”
“Both,” she replies through a chuckle. “I would leave but I don’t want you to be lonely.”
“Right, because I’m the one who gets lonely.”
“Shut up.”
It’s both a blessing and a curse to have broken through the archer’s defenses and right now, her cute reactions are beginning to feel like a curse. Although, that might just be your unrequited feelings talking.
A slightly awkward silence settles over both of you while you rifle through the overwhelming amount of purple tissue paper until you find your gift. You’re expecting another expensive necklace, maybe a bracelet this time, but what you’re met with is the most thoughtful gift you’ve ever received…and probably the most thoughtful gift Kate has ever given.
What you end up pulling out of the bag is a leather journal with a beautiful engraving of yours and Kate’s initials. “Kate…is this-”
“Yeah, I, um…I couldn’t find a photo album that I liked so I sort of…made my own.”
You can’t stop yourself from flipping through the first couple of pages, caught somewhere between the euphoria of being given something so beautiful and the disappointment that comes with knowing it all only serves to fuel your love for the archer.
Love you can’t express the way you want to.
Love that’s hidden between the pages of the journal you hold in your hands.
You don’t notice and Kate isn’t really in a hurry to watch you read the series of rambles that make up her overdue confession so she lets the moment fade like she always has. It’s not like you can blame her for wanting to move on to something else, her lack of focus isn’t necessarily a secret, and you let yourself get carried away by her jokes and her stubborn need to make mac and cheese for you.
The archer manages to cook without setting your kitchen on fire and the two of you settle on your couch to watch the first cheesy Christmas movie you find. In all honesty…the movie is awful but the corny jokes make Kate laugh so you can’t find it in yourself to be too grumpy about the shitty writing.
Until the scene in front of you reminds you of the archer and her ex. You’re unable to hold back the jealousy-tinted snarkiness said reminder brings out of you. “I think Yelena watched this movie and then decided to be a dick just like the main character.”
Kate instantly turns toward you, staring at you with wide eyes that barely hide her amusement. “What?”
“What?” You feign confusion to avoid having to repeat yourself.
“You know what,” she replies with an eyeroll. “If I’m the one who got broken up with, why are you the one that’s still upset?”
“Because- wait, why are you not upset?”
Your uno-reverse of a response leaves Kate speechless for a few seconds and you prepare yourself for the series of jokes that will no doubt leave her mouth next.
But Kate’s never been predictable.
“Because…she didn’t break my heart. She didn’t even own it in the first place.”
Her words spark the low flames of hope hidden in the depths of your heart. It feels impossible and if you were a believer, you might even say Santa’s on your side, helping to give you the one thing you’ve wished for more nights than you can count.
And yet you hesitate.
“What are you trying to say?” You ask, your voice so soft it borders on cautious.
“That I’m an idiot,” she replies with that same bright smile that made you fall for her so long ago. “And…I’d really like to kiss you.”
The world seems to slow down to a complete stop at that moment.
You almost don’t even know what to do with yourself. Thankfully, you manage to kick yourself into action before the moment passes.
Kate’s awkwardness seems to disappear into thin air as she leans in toward you, meeting you halfway for the softest, sweetest, kiss you’ve ever had. And maybe nothing about it is perfect but it’s you and her and that’s all that matters for now.

Would you be down to do a Kate fic where reader is a new transfer and Kate keeps seeing her all over campus and is quickly crushing on her (like she’s down BAD) Then one day when she’s going to meet Caitlin for lunch/coffee/something lol she sees her walking with r laughing then saying goodbye. Kate immediately starts interrogating CC the second she’s within earshot because she wants to find out everything she can about her mystery girl. CC laughs and says she transferred to play soccer and they’re in x class together. Then she’s like as fun as this is I’m starving so can we go eat now. From there she literally sees her everywhere because her and CC start to hang out outside of class, once she finds out r also played basketball in high school and college (focusing on soccer when she transferred) she invites her to pickup games or practice when she knows they’ll be using the managers to scrimmage and this is where Kate finally meets her and is officially smitten. R thinks she’s absolutely adorable and hopes this is the girl Cait said she wanted to introduce her to.

Everywhere. You were literally everywhere. She was definitely not complaining about it though. You were actually so beautiful. You were everywhere but near her. You took over her whole mind since this morning.
She saw you on what she assumed to be your first day. You looked like a lost puppy walking around looking for your class. "Hey, you doing okay?" Kate approached you, sliding one of the sides of her headphones behind her ear. God, you looked even prettier up close.
"Uh, yeah? I don't know where the science building is. I've been looking for about twenty minutes and no luck." You sighed, checking your phone, your friend Caitlin texting you while you pulled your schedule up.
"I can help. If you want?" Kate gave you a warm smile, looking down at your phone. She recognized the professor, having had him her sophomore year. It was a general education requirement for her major. "Oh, I've had him before. I can walk you and show you."
"That'd be great, thanks." The walk was quiet, kind of awkward. Kate was nervous to make small talk. She never thought this far ahead. Hell, she didn't even know she was walking up to you until you responded to her.
Kate thought about it the whole way to her next class. She thought about it the whole way back to her home. She thought about you. The way you smiled at her when she offered her help. She didn't know what was happening.
She's seen many pretty girls before and felt attracted to them but not like this. She's barely known you—talked to you for a total of three minutes...It wasn't possible. It wasn't going to be a thing. She'd probably never see you again. This campus was too big.
Kate had thought about you, and she wouldn’t lie and say that she didn’t try looking for you either. She’d take her time walking to classes throughout that day and to Carver Arena. She’d stop to get coffee and snacks she wasn’t going to finish. She just wanted to see you. You were the most prettiest girl she has ever seen. She tried to find you all the rest of the day. With no luck, and her taking her sweet time to get to practice, she didn’t see you.
When she left for a later class, right after practice, after practice had ended at six pm, she had finally seen you and Caitlin walking together. It was the most shocking yet, anxiety inducing thing she’s seen since she left you earlier that morning.
She was a ways behind you both, recognizing Caitlin first, still in her practice uniform. You were both heading the same way she was, so she just decided to stay behind instead of going to talk to Cait. She wasn’t going to go anywhere near you both, scared of being that close again and having to introduce herself. She’d be an absolute mess. It barely worked this morning, and she was not taking her chances.
It wasn’t until she saw you walking away, meeting up with this other girl, and saying goodbye to Caitlin, that she decided to catch Caitlin before she left. “Caitlin!” Her walk speeding up, looking in your direction making sure you didn’t hear her.
Caitlin looked behind her to see her frantic teammate running up to her. “Yes, Kate?” She smiled nervously, watching the blonde dart her eyes between you and her.
“Who is that?” Kate looked to you, blushing. Pointing subtly towards you to make sure Caitlin knew exactly who she was talking about. That’s when Caitlin smiled. “That’s my friend! She just transferred here. She’s playing soccer now.”
“What do you mean ‘she plays soccer now’? What did she play before?” Kate wanted to know everything about you. She already knew you were the prettiest girl she’s ever seen. But she wanted to know more.
“She played basketball too. Got a full ride to UC Berkeley with it.” Caitlin nodded her head, continuing on the path she was headed to. “We were on our way to our class, but her soccer teammate needed her for a minute so I said i’d meet her there.”
“Oh, okay. How do you know her? Has she always been that pretty? How many classes do you guys have together? Maybe I can “walk” you to it?” Kate started to ramble any question that came to mind about you. All of which were about anything and everything besides your name.
“Oh, my god. Kate. Slow down. Why so many questions?” Caitlin laughed, already having a small idea as to what was happening. “Just ask her tomorrow.”
Kate’s throat went dry. What did she mean? “I’m sorry, what?” Kate choked out. Caitlin gave Kate a blank stare.
“I invited her to our pickup game tomorrow. Just talk to her then.” Kate was already so excited but dreading tomorrow.
She really really wanted to see you, but she started to think about how you’d see her play and she’d have to possibly guard you. This was a lot. Kate definitely did not let this go. She was starting to get too nervous. She was getting self conscious. She wanted to impress you.
Kate got up the next morning to a text from Caitlin asking to get there earlier than planned for a shoot around before the pickup game. The reason why was very vague but she decided to go early. Caitlin had asked her multiple other times to meet up and practice shots. That’s where Kate had developed better confidence in her far-range shots. Her three game improving significantly.
But the more Kate thought about it, she didn’t even get your name yesterday. Not even from Caitlin.
Her nerves were through the roof as she walked out the house and set on her way to Carver.
Her face grew hot and red, suddenly her relaxed and otherwise friendly demeanor turned shy and antsy as she got closer and closer to you both, standing on the court while she set her stuff down. That’s why she wanted her early…forgetting to mention the why.
“Hey, Cait.” Kate walked up to Caitlin, her eyes darting between you and her. She was so nervous. You were just so pretty and so close she just couldn’t take it.
“Hey! This is my friend, y/n.” Caitlin looked to Kate, and then to you. You shook Kate’s hand. Immediately recognizing the pretty girl who had helped you find your class yesterday.
You smiled. Yesterday after she walked you all the way to your class, before you had walked in you thanked her and watched her go on her way. She looked nervous but so did you. You walked up to the door but stopped to look behind you. What made it more awkward is you both caught eachothers eye at the same time.
Cait💕
“You find your class okay?”
“yeah! some really nice girl helped me find my class.”
“Oh, awesome! The people here are way nicer than the people from California huh?”
Caitlin and you had grown up together. Two girls who loved the game of basketball. You got a full ride to UC Berkeley. Iowa skipping over you for an offer but getting Caitlin. You honestly wouldn’t have had it any other way.
You got to experience life outside of Iowa. It was a fun experience. You loved California but still keeping in touch with back home. You would’ve stayed if your injury your sophomore season didn’t pull you out of the sport completely.
Tearing your meniscus, ACL, PCL, and MCL. You tore them over a span of a couple years. Your ACL and PCL being the first to go in your junior season of highschool. The MCL your freshman year of college. You had been halfway into your sophomore season at Berkeley when you tore your meniscus.
You were told you were able to recover and go back, but your coach didn’t like that you were getting injured and submitted an appeal to have your full ride taken. That’s when the dean advised you to find a different career outside of basketball. So, you entered the transfer portal, losing your full ride, and ended back up in Iowa for senior year. You had played soccer growing up as well with your brother. You kept up with it outside of basketball only small scrimmages, nothing too serious so you weren’t injured for basketball. But Iowa had a great soccer team and you missed home, so you decided to come back and come back to soccer.
“They’re way nicer for sure…and wayyy cuter😉”
“Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy”
“you laughed at, ‘Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy’ ”
You were excited to meet the friends Caitlin made here in Iowa City after you left. Wanted to meet the women she talked so highly of. So when she texted you last night asking if you wanted to shoot around before doing a pick up game, you immediately said yes. Something about wanted to introduce you to a friend, hence having to get there early.
“Oh, you walked me to my class yesterday!” You stuck your hand out and waited for Kate to shake it.
Kate had been staring at you. She didn’t mean it in a rude or freaky way. She just was in shock. There was no way you knew Caitlin. “Uh, yeah! I’m Kate. I don’t think we formally introduced ourselves yesterday.” Kate giggled.
Caitlin raised her eyebrows. There was no way Kate was the cute girl you mentioned to her yesterday. No way. And there’s no way you had Kate Martin giggling at a handshake. This elicited a random giggle and ‘no way’. You and Kate turned your heads and looked at her confused. It finally clicked to Caitlin.
“Oh! Nothing nothing. Just that—Oh! Look! My ball!” She walked away to the ball she left at half court, leaving you two to stand in awkward silence before opting to get started. You guys were going for about an hour before Caitling and Kate walked up to the small team Caitlin put together. You watched them two walk away, shaking your head before walking over to your team.
That’s when Kate turned to look back at you. Watching you immediately make friends with the girls in your team. Which happened to be her friends too. Kate turned back to the team, a huddle being held…Kate’s face grew even more rosy when she saw her best friend caught on to what was happening. Caitlin had been giving her the biggest smirk when they made eye contact. Was it really that obvious that she had a crush on you? Could she even call it that? She just met you formally seconds ago.
The shoot around is where you and Kate really got to know each other. Exchanging stories and experiences, her asking all kinds of questions of what it was like in California.
How you knew Caitlin, which she was shocked to find out that you grew up here. That you and Caitlin were neighbors. She learned more than what Caitlin had been willing to tell her. Something about “you’ll know soon enough,” or “i’ll let her decide.”
It didn’t help that she had to guard you during the whole game, even though her being absolutely smitten from the moment Caitlin told her your name wasn’t already awkward enough.
The small praises you gave her while playing went immediately to Kate’s head. A pretty girl like you complimenting her. She returned them back, feeling less scared of her antics when she saw how you reacted to them too. It was the most nervous and overall mindfucking pick up game she’s ever played in her life. And she grew up with playing with bigger and stronger boys. Hell, she’s made it to national championship games and this by far took the cake for the most absurd and anxious game.
But you, made her immediately nervous. And she knew you knew. The small smiles and giggles you gave her whenever you saw her reaction to your compliments and praises, your touches to her body when you would pivot around her while dribbling, your hands brushing her hips when trying to blow past her and cut to the basket.
Needless to say, you both knew the effect you had on eachother. Which is why it was the longest yet shortest game ever. Because when it ended, and you had work to do and practice to attend, so you started to say your goodbyes to everyone.
You said goodbye to the new girls you made friends with, getting their numbers and then pulling your oldest friend aside. “Please tell me that’s her.” Your face burning up from the exertion and the thought of the tall blonde you could feel was looking at you from behind Caitlin.
“Possibly.” Cait raised her brows, mischevious smile on her face.
“She’s possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen, Cait. Please tell me that’s her.” You glanced behind Caitlin again, catching those oh, so pretty blue eyes. You both looking away immediately, you both blushing.
“I’ll talk to you after your practice.” She hugged you and you started on your way to your practice. Looking back to catch one last longing look to Kate. It was definitely her.
She was already standing and talking to Caitlin, big smile on her face, hair now down. God, she looked good.
“Please invite her to more of these.” Kate pleaded with Caitlin. That immediately earned a loud chuckle from the brunette. This was so entertaining. Her best friends having the hots for eachother was the most interesting thing to happen to her.
“I will.” Caitlin patted her hand on her best friends chest, starting to walk away. “I fucking knew it.” She said while she was a good distance from Kate.
“What?” Kate asked, already wishing another pick up game would happen or that she’d run into you soon.
“Oh, nothing.” Caitlin walked away, knowing she had to do something to keep you guys interacting. This game of trying to get you both together was more fun than, dare she say, the final four tournament??

Post Hawkeye (Deaf Female Reader X Kate Bishop)
Summary: Your cute new friend Kate learns ASL for you.
Word Count: 4.4K
Content None I think... just cuteness.
Tumblr media
Two weeks ago, Kate Bishop saw you across the library.
She had just finished classes and was rushing to pick up a book she needed for an essay she HAD NOT started when she saw you.
She hadn't seen you around before, and Kate was instantly mesmerized by how your cute face scrunched as you kept your head low to read. Kate couldn't take her eyes away, and she got to see your smile when you enjoyed a particular moment of your book.
Kate loved seeing your smile and how your eyes lit up.
Kate looked at her phone and truly needed to find the book and leave now or never. But on that day, Kate Bishop was feeling bold. Blame on the need for a certain thrill since Clint took her off Hawkeye duties to focus on school, but Kate started walking towards you.
You, however, never saw or heard her coming. Not when she tripped over her own feet. And not even when she stumbled sitting down next to you.
You had no idea Kate Bishop existed.
Maybe you would have if you had your aids in, but they made you feel embarrassed and inadequate, something you've struggled with for years. Something a certain someone would help you with in time. But, for now, you choose to go without them 99% of the time.
So when Kate started with a simple greeting, that turned into an overcomplicated rambling where she gave you numerous unwanted compliments.
You didn't hear it.
In fact, you didn't even look over to the now slummed-over pretty girl with the blue-grey eyes until she slammed her head on the table in defeat.
The vibrations of the repeated knock of the head against wood alerting you.
You put a bookmark in your book before closing it to look around, hoping maybe someone lost their friend because you had no idea why she was sitting at your table.
But at last, no one had lost the captain of the archery team. So you waited for her to look up, hoping to get an answer, and when she did, you're lucky your mouth didn't drop open.
She was gorgeous. Stunning actually. You had no idea why she was sitting here, but now you didn't want her to leave. You were about to lift your hand when you saw her eyes open in shock before her pink lips started speaking a hundred miles per minute.
Too fast for you to keep up.
You tried to get her to stop, but before you knew it, the last thing you saw was her black ponytail bouncing away.
You didn't know what to make of the last two minutes, but there wasn't much you could do. So, with a frown and shrug of the shoulder, you returned to your book. Wishing you got a chance to say anything.
Exiting the library, Kate Bishop was red in the face. You had just sat there ignoring her as she tripped over all of her words and called you beautiful and babe within two sentences. She didn't know what was wrong with her. She wanted to stab herself with an arrow. Badly!
Kate shook her head because that wasn't even the worst part.
The worst part was when you finally looked at her. You acknowledged her. Kate was already embarrassed enough. So she apologized and claimed that she would never bother you again.
But yet here she was two weeks later. Spotting you from across the library just like before.
"Go!" Kate felt a nudge on her arm from her friend Laura Kinney—a fast friend of Kate after transferring from Canada a year prior.
Kate looked back at her friend. "Stop that! I'm not going." Laura rolled eyes. "You talked about this one chick not stop-"
"No! I talked about how I embarrassed myself once! You're the one who keeps bringing it up!"
Laura shook her head and nudged her friend again. "Go! She's cute, and if you don't go, I will." Kate turned her head to her friend, surprised, but saw that maybe her friend wasn't kidding. "Ugh." Kate turned back to look at you. "Fine! Okay! I'll try again!"
"Good luck!" Laura called out, knowing Kate would need it. Kate sent a thumbs up and did her best to calm her nerves. "Just apologize and don't ramble," Kate whispered to herself as she reached your table.
However, before Kate could do anything, you closed your book and turned away from Kate to put it in your bag—the action meant nothing to you. But to Kate, it would appear you didn't want anything to do with her.
That thought was further cemented when you got up without looking at her and started walking away.
Without realizing it, Kate began to walk after you.
Her walk turned into a quick jog when her brain finally caught up to what was happening. She was right behind you when she said: "Excuse me! Hi!"
Yet you kept walking.
Okay, the library is busy, and maybe Kate could've spoken up a bit louder, so she tried again, HOPING that you weren't actively trying to get away from her.
"Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I..." She trailed off when you kept moving forward, keeping your head staring straight ahead at the library's exit doors. Kate was growing embarrassed and did the one thing she could think of.
She ran ahead and turned around, stopping you in your tracks.
"Hi!" Kate breathed out with a wave, coming face to face with you for the first time. You looked up from her lips, surprised at who was standing in front of you.
It was her!
Hi. You waved back with a questioning look to Kate's beautiful eyes before looking down to her lips—something Kate noticed.
"Sorry to bother you, but I don't know if you remember me but..." That was all you caught reading her lips before Kate started speaking quicker and quicker than you could process.
In your defense, even Clint Barton, an Avenger, said Kate had more speed talking than Captain America did running.
You held your hand up, shutting Kate up. She looked at you with curious eyes and waited to hear your voice, but instead, you started signing.
I do remember you.
Kate immediately felt embarrassed. She knew very little to almost nothing of what you were saying.
She promised Clint she would start learning when he began teaching, but for someone who helped save the world, he could still be stubborn. But now The Archer regretted not learning ASL.
Kate awkwardly smiled, making you smile back, in turn, causing Kate's face to flush red. You caught it. While looking at one another, you both thought the other person was beyond cute.
"I'm sorry," Kate spoke slower than she usually would. You tilted your head as she continued. "I don't know ASL."
You made a flat smile and nodded. Most people didn't. So it wasn't surprising that the first new cute girl to talk to you in some time didn't know it either. It just meant it would be harder to forget her when she inevitably didn't want to make the effort.
But you had never met Kate Bishop till before this moment. You didn't know that she was just as stubborn as her mentor but a thousand times more annoying when she needed to be. She wasn't going to give up.
She was going to learn for you.
She was going to speak to you.
Kate watched you nod and go to walk away, but she stepped in front of you again. "Wait!" She held her hands up and quickly pulled out her phone, handing it to you. You took it as it sat on the New Contact screen and looked up with furrowed brows. "Please?" Kate asked, making you nod and blush.
Kate watched your fingers fly over the keyboard before you handed it back. You watched Kate smile and try not to laugh at your contact name: Y/N 👂❌
You bite back your own laughter. Having been used to not everyone being comfortable with something you lost at a young age.
Kate looked up to see your smile and finally broke laughing. Her pearly whites were on display until she closed her mouth and started typing in her phone.
A few seconds later, yours buzzed in your pocket. Pulling it out, you looked up and smiled. The text read: "Hi Y/N. I'm Kate Bishop 🏹!" You nodded and made that her contact name.
"So Kate Bishop... what can I do you for?"
You typed and immediately regretted sending because you sounded like someone who was a boring attorney. But Kate found it kind of charming.
You looked down from her as the three dots popped up and down, but nothing happened. You looked back up at Kate, who was nervously biting her lip.
"You ok?" You typed to Kate, who stopped biting her lip, avoided your eye contact, and replied: "Yes. Sorry!" But Kate wanted to say more. She wanted to say: "I was going to ask for your number earlier, but we kinda blew through that quicker than I imagined. So now I don't know what to do?! Do I ask you out now? Is that allowed? Would you say yes?! You don't even know me!?"
But Kate didn't say that. Instead, she wrote: "I tried talking to you a couple of weeks ago because you seemed like a really cool person. Which you are! Ugh sorry. This is so embarrassing as I type this, but I wanted to know if you wanted to be friends? 😅"
Kate added the emoji, hoping to relieve any awkwardness. And it did. But Kate asking you to be friends wasn't where you thought this was going.
Truth be told, it wasn't.
But Katherine Elizabeth "Kate" Bishop wasn't going to ask you out over text. She was going to ask you face-to-face, and she didn't want you to read her lips to make it happen.
Yet you didn't know that. All you knew was that a cute, friendly girl was choosing to seek you out and wanted to get to know you. So you smiled and nodded to Kate, whose eyes lit up. "Great!" She audibly yelled, earning a fury of looks from people around.
But a smile from you.
"Sorry." You read Kates lips as she looked around at people shaking their heads and looking away.
Kate looked down at her buzzing phone to see a message from you. "Maybe we should leave the library. Are you busy rn?" Kate froze as she looked at the words on her screen. She was supposed to be courting you. Asking you out in time. Were you flirting? No. This is just what friends do. Hang out! The two of you were now friends! Right?
Kate's turmoil-struck brain could only process so much so fast before she decided to actually look at the time and realize, yes, she was supposed to be somewhere right now. Kate sent you a frown. "I actually should be on my way to archery practice."
That made a lightbulb go off above you. That's why she wanted her name like that in your phone. You thought Kate was being cute and was saying she was Cupid or was sent by Cupid or something. However, her being on the archery team made a lot more sense. You felt silly for thinking it was the former. But you pressed on.
"I have a free period right now. Can I come?"
Kate looked up from her phone and nodded with glee. "I'd love that!" Kate yelled once again, earning glares from everyone else in the room, but the two of you paid them no mind as Kate started leading the way.
On the walk, Kate and you enjoyed one another's company while also learning about the other one. It was new and slightly awkward but adorable to any outsider looking in. Like when you asked Kate if she took up archery because of the Hunger Games, she laughed and said no. She did it because she was saved by Hawkeye during the Battle of New York.
The very same battle you lost your hearing.
But Kate didn't know. She would in time.
Not right now.
The conversation about Hawkeye led to the two of you talking about your favorite Avengers. Kate's being obvious, and yours surprising her.
You said Natasha Romanoff—the Black Widow.
When asked why, you just sadly shrugged before replying through text: "The Avengers were all great. Most of them were role models. But none of them looked as good as she did in her uniform." You laughed to hide the tears in your eyes.
But Kate saw, leading you to type: "Plus, I bet she gave the best hugs." Kate smiled at that and could agree. Her and Wanda Maximoff probably gave the best hugs.
Where was Wanda, by the way??
Kate's phone buzzed, bringing her back. "Sorry... I could give actual reasons, but I don't want to cry right now." You smiled and swallowed the lump in your throat when Kate looked over at you.
Because Kate could relate, she had only gotten to hear Clint share less than a handful of stories about The Black Widow, and each time, they ended with the man in tears.
"I have a friend who's the same. It's okay." Kate sent back to you, making you feel better before you asked her if she had read Scott Lang's book, to which she said not yet.
Meanwhile, it was in your backpack.
Three weeks from now, she would borrow it and read the chapter dedicated to Natasha and cry.
As you and Kate walked up to the field holding practice, you had Kate lead you to a spot where you could safely watch from. Unbeknownst to you, the other girls around you were friends or girlfriends of the ladies on the team. So when people saw you walk up with THE Katherine Bishop, everyone started talking in hushed whispers.
But not that you knew.
However, you couldn't lie. Watching Kate's arms and fingers hold and mess around with something that's basically string and wood never looked so hot. On top of that, the shy, awkward, almost annoyingly cute girl you had become quick friends with didn't exist anymore. When the arrow flew from her fingers, she was confident, cocky, and dominant.
Also, she was easily the best of the team. Hot.
The warmth rising in you hit a tipping point when she pointed at you and then to the bullseye on the target before mouthing, "watch this." You expected Kate to turn and look to where she was shooting, but she didn't. She looked straight at you and let the arrow go. Your eyes went from Kate to the target.
Bullseye.
The girls around you erupted into a mixture of cheers, shock, and jealousy. They all turned to you, confusing you before you saw a couple of them smile and point back to Kate as if they were praising the two of you.
You're fairly certain you saw the word "girlfriend" being thrown around, but you just shook your head and waited for Kate to come to your rescue.
_
Over the next couple of months, as the season of spring was winding down to make way for the heat of summer, you and Kate had only grown closer. Your friendship had turned the two of you into being the best of friends.
Often being mistaken for girlfriends.
A mistake that always left you and Kate blushing but never saying how awful it would be if that was the case.
It was like there was a silent understanding. Kate knew what she was waiting for, and you were too nice and kind to even think about jeopardizing what you two had.
It was expected that if one of you was around, the other one had to be within ten feet. And this was true—most times. But there had been times in the past where if you woke up in the middle of the night after passing out while reading, you'd discover Kate gone. Her bag and clothes would still be there, but she was just gone. Well, herself and... her archery equipment.
That part confused you.
You wanted to bring it up to her. Because for one reason, whatever she was doing was making her exhausted. You could see it on her face better than anyone. She was tired mentally and physically. You didn't like seeing her like that.
The other reason is that it hurt you to see someone you cared about lying to you. You hated it and didn't want to hate the girl who started holding your hand on your walks across campus. The one who never missed a bullseye for you. The same girl who decided to read The Hunger Games instead of just watching the movies for you.
So when you couldn't bear yourself to bring it up to her, you decided to wait up and catch her.
Kate had no idea you had started to catch onto her. But it's not like Kate enjoyed sneaking around. Well, she did, but that was when she was chasing bad guys and doing some recon. But she hated it when it came to you. Sneaking around behind your back felt wrong, no matter the cause.
So, as Kate quietly picked up her bow and quiver, she looked over at your sleeping form and made a motion with her hands.
You didn't see it as you faked sleeping. But if you did, you would've understood why Kate was being sneaky.
Kate turned away from you and took a few steps towards her window. Kate opened it and reached back behind her when suddenly you flicked on the light in the bedroom of her dorm as she looked ready to jump out of her window. A labeled arrow prepared to fire.
Kate slowly lowered the bow and turned her head to you. You stood wearing her high school archery t-shirt and a pair of black shorts.
Kate couldn't help but smile. She loved seeing you in her clothes.
And you loved seeing her in yours, but right now, that was the last thing on your mind as Kate sheepishly said: "It's not what it looks like."
You threw your arms up at that and ran up to her, smacking your head as if to say, "what the hell are you doing?"
Kate sighed and knew that now was the time to say one thing or the other. Or maybe both?? Kate weighed her options before gently placing her bow on the bed you two had come to share. As friends of course.
You watched Kate let go of the bow before her hands found their way to yours. Taking them from your hips.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." She started as you watched her pink lips speak. Tilting your head at the words she spilled before she softly let go of your hands to unzip her purple hoodie.
You gasped and covered your mouth when you saw what she was hiding. You looked from her guilty eyes back to her purple suit. Kate watched you step forward and raise a hand to her hip. The touch making her stomach flip while two of your fingers danced along the edge before gliding up the lining of the suit before they floated away.
Kate missing your contact already.
You couldn't believe what you were seeing. But yet, it made sense.
You'd been to enough practices to know the only match for Kate with a bow and arrow would be an Avenger. You looked to Kate's downward face and put your finger on the underside of her chin. Lifting it up. Her eyes meeting yours. You weren't mad. Well, you were, but if anything, now you were just shocked.
Are you Hawkeye? You signed without realizing it.
Yes. Kate signed ba— KATE SIGNED!
You took a step back in awe. Did that happen? You swallowed and stared at the girl, holding back a smile dressed in a purple superhero suit. Slowly, you raised your hands and, with a deep breath, signed: You can understand me?
Yes.Kate signed the exact same way as before, surprising you once again.
She was communicating with you in ASL. Your best friend- someone you cared for- No someone who you loved was signing!
Tears were threatening to spill as you ran into Kate and wrapped your arms around her. Your head burying its way into her neck. Kate wrapping her arms around you, holding you tight.
As Kate held you, she heard your sniffles and felt a few tears spill from your eyes. Kate bit her lip to keep her eyes from spilling.
It was then she decided she would keep the night of surprises going. So, after some time, she patted her hand against your back and removed her hold from you as you moved back to look at her. Your eyes were a little red, but Kate could see what was holding in them.
Kate smiled and started moving her hands. Since I met you, I've been learning ASL.
Your mouth dropped. With who? You could've asked me!?
You would've loved to teach Kate. But it had to be done this way.
Kate didn't answer you. Instead, she pulled out her phone and went to a secret photo album you had never seen before. Inside were pictures of her with Lucky, a family, some friends, and lastly... Clint Barton.
You looked up from the phone to Kate and back to the phone—Full-on, yanking it from her hands. You zoomed in on his face and then Kates before sliding through other pictures of the two of them together. A lot of them were unflattering pics of the grown man while Kate smiled brightly. But then there were some where Clint smiled and posed ridiculously for his mentee. You laughed and smiled at each one, including the ones of his family surrounding Kate.
You swiped once more, and a video automatically started to play. You felt the vibrations in your hand but couldn't make anything out. However, Kate knew exactly what was happening in the video.
It was Kate's first ASL lesson months prior. But that didn't start till ten minutes in. Instead, what was playing right now to the room was Kate in the video going on and on about this new friend of hers named Y/N. Kate mentions that you are the reason that she wants to learn sign language.
Slightly and purposely offending Clint.
"Okay, so let's say I manage to teach you, and you manage to learn, then what?"
Clint asks in the video.
"Then I ask her out."
Kate replies.
You looked up from the video to Kate. Asking why she is blushing, Kate takes a step closer to you and asks for her cell phone back. You place it in her hand. She hits the button on the side before putting it in her pocket.
I learned for you.
You watch Kate sign and mouth simultaneously, the feeling of wanting to cry from pure happiness returning. Why? You asked Kate as you smiled.
Kate lifts her hands and stops. She starts to sign but stops again.
The Archer breathes in and out.
Because ever since I met you, I've wanted to do one thing. Kate waits for you to nod back to her. I- Y/N... Y/N, do you want to go out?
She signs with a nervous smile.
Together? Sometime, like on a date. A real date! One where we dress up and go out on the town, not just eat junk in my-
You surprised Kate by jumping into her arms. Cutting off her ramblings in ASL. Kate barely had time to register to catch you before she felt just how soft your lips were.
Kate closed her eyes and melted into you. She marveled at the feeling of your smile as the kiss deepened. You pushed further into her and felt butterflies flutter inside of you at what you've wanted for so long.
Kate felt the same and would vow to always hold you closer than anyone ever could as she pulled you into her. Taking you all in.
Eventually, air had to return into your lungs.
You blushed harder when you and Kate separated. The heavy breathing between the two of you being the only noise in the room.
Yes, you signed when Kate placed you onto your feet. "You want to go out? With me?" Kate said, knowing you were watching her lips. But maybe she was wrong when she saw you shake your head no.
You moved back a bit as Kate kept her arms around your body.
I want to be your girlfriend.
Kate looked at you, making sure she saw that right. "Girlfriend?!" She asked with a glint of hope. You smiled and brought your lips to hers as you nodded before moving your hands down to hers. Taking them off your body and placing them in yours as you moved them.
You kissed Kate again as she traced her fingers over your left hand, discovering the pinky and index finger were raised. She moved from your index finger down to your extended thumb.
She pulled back and looked at your hand watching it move towards her.
Kate brought her hands up to your face and quickly kissed your lips before she moved onto your cheeks and nose, forcing a giggle out of you.
When she let go of your head, she looked into your eyes and said with an unmistakable smile: "I love you too. I love you so much!"
Kate wrapped you into her arms and held you close before she could feel you patting her back.
When she let go, you smiled and asked: So girlfriends?
Kate nodded.Girlfriends.
A million more questions ran through you as you stood in Kate's arms. But before you could stop yourself, you started with: Oh, and Kate... You laughed and signed to her before continuing. Since I'm dating Hawkeye, do I get a cool name?
Kate laughed back and raised an eyebrow. "Sure! What would you want to be called?"
You tucked your bottom lip into your mouth as you thought. An action making Kate pull your lip out of your mouth with her thumb before bringing it to her lips, almost frying your brain to the point that you nearly didn't say your answer. Bullseye.
"Why is that?"
You shrugged but hid behind an innocent smile. Your eyes briefly darting to Kate's closet before looking back to Kate.
Because I want to be the only thing you can stick your arrow in.

Imagine with me a moment...
Say Buggy pulls a Shanks some time after the redhead meets Luffy. He finds the poor reader in some unfortunate situations and decides to have a kind heart for once. Buggy takes you under his wing, but somehow, you still end up a decent human being despite being raised by the clown captain and his crew. * You thank Shanks and Benn for that and their copious amounts of visits.*
Say you and Buggy reunite with one another after Marineford, then later when the Cross Guild is formed, Buggy grows a bit of a backbone when it comes to his kid. Actually, standing up to Crocodile and Mihawk when they show interest in you, even though he's shaking so hard, his body threatens to come apart.
Tumblr media
“_ is like my kid to me, and I- I don't give a damn if you two can kick my ass. You best not lay a finger on them!” He shrieks, red in the face as courage wars with the fear that thurms in his chest.
Crocodile and Mihawk share a look of muted surprise. They hadn't thought that there was anything in the world that would get the cowardly pirate to stand up to them.

THE SUN AND THE MOON
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Demigod!Reader
Summary: Kate makes a visit in your universe after weeks of not seeing eachother.
Word count: 2.5K
Pure fluff. Kate is such a dog mum. This is taking the sapphic long distance experience on a whole other level. Reader is a daughter of Apollo.
a/n: there might be a prequel of this on the workings. It's still an abstract idea but I already got something laid out.
————————————————————————
"Okay, I'll come and pick you up tomorrow morning at 10:00. And if I find you two doing cheeky stuff again you can say bye-bye to your personal multiversal taxi." America warned Kate as she was opening a portal right on the fire escape outside your bedroom window.
"Just to clarify, we were just making out." Kate points out. "We were half naked but only making out." She adds mumbling to herself. She took a step forward, finding herself in your universe. "Whatever. You own me so many pizza balls for this." America grumbles before closing the portal.
You were sitting at your desk, music was blasting through your headphones as you were finishing up an assignment on your computer.
Kate opened your window and jumped inside your room. She smiled as she saw you concentrated on your work. Her backpack slips out of her shoulder, hitting the hardwood floor. She sneaks behind you and takes your headphones off.
"Whatcha listening to?" She whispers in your ear. You jump on your seat and turn around.
"Oh my god!" You whisper shouted. "Kate? What are you doing here?" You stood up from your chair, a smile plastering on your shocked face. You weren't supposed to see her until next week, so this was certainly a very nice surprise.
"Hi, baby. 'Was just popping by. Wanted to see what my beautiful girl was up to." She shrugged as her hands found your waist, immediately connecting your lips in a sweet kiss. When you draw back you notice she has cuts and bruises all over her face and probably on her body too since her suit was all ripped and a bit bloody. You tilt your head. "Did you come here because you wanted to see me or because you want me to be your personal nurse again?"
"Both?" She raised her eyebrows and made her famous puppy eyes at you. You shake your head and chuckle. "Take off your suit." You step back, crossing your arms under your chest. "Eager, are we?" She teases as she peels off her archery suit, throwing it on the floor. Now she's left with a black tank top that accentuates her muscular form and some boxers that had purple hearts on them. Of course she was wearing something like that.
You roll your eyes. "Just stay still." Your hand reaches her jaw, where a fresh and deep cut was glaring at you.
You took a deep breath: a golden aura began to shine around your body. Kate felt your warmth streaming from your fingers to her jaw. In a matter of seconds the cut disappeared. "Who did you fight this time?" Your hand moved to her forehead. "Just some thugs that were trying to steal some kind of dangerous substance. It was a pretty cool fight, actually. I knocked out three guys with only one shot." She says proudly. You smile at her being all cocky of her actions. "That's amazing, love."
As your hands were moving all around her body, healing her from every single bruise and cut, she rambled on and on about her mission. You had to force her to stay still because she was moving around trying to demonstrate how she back flipped and knocked a guy out kicking him in the nuts with her left foot.
Once her skin was smooth again you removed your hands and returned to a normal non glowing human. "Thank you, princess." She smiled at you and gave you a quick peck on the lips. "You knows you're always so hot when you do that. Literally and figuratively."
You chuckled and sat down on the bed, reaching for a bottle of soda on your bedside table and drinking it to get your full strength back.
Kate crawled on the bed, laying on top of you. Her arms cradled around your hips and her chin rested on your midriff as she gazed up at you with her dazzling angel eyes.
"I missed you." She whispers and leans her head forward. She starts to leave a trail of butterfly kisses from your collarbone to your lips. You can't help but giggle at that sweet action.
"I missed you too, Katie." Now her face is right above yours. Your hands find the small of her back and caress her there, your touch is as soft as a feather while you draw heart shaped figures on her bare skin.
"Lucky misses you too." You could feel one of her calloused hands sliding up your back and reaching your neck. "He's always so excited whenever I say your name." She then lets go of you, and goes to retrieve her phone that was in her backpack. "I've got a few videos of that, actually." She crawled back next to you, opened her gallery and pressed play on a video of Lucky being all happy and stomping around as his tail was wagging like an helicopter. You chuckle at the adorable sight.
For the next few minutes Kate proceeds to show you every single video of Lucky she had. (even the ones that you had seen a million times already) "Wait! I almost forgot." She reached in her backpack, taking out a small folder. She opened it and inside there were dozens of pictures of her, Lucky, and a couple with her team too. "I printed some more pictures for you." You melted. Kate knew you couldn't have a phone (being a demigod was really shitty sometimes.), and every time she made sure to print a lot of pictures (and yes, some of them were spicy too). You, in the other hand, were more prone to writing. So while you had an album full of pictures, she had a folder with all your letters and poems.
You couldn't help but to lean forward and kiss her on the lips. "Thank you." You looked at the pictures for a few moments and then looked up. "I got something for you too." You stretched your arm to open the drawer of the bedside table and took a small notebook, handing it to her. "It's a small scrapbook I've been making for the past couple of weeks." There's all kinds of things: poems, flowers, pictures and small things that remind you of her.
The corners of Kate's mouth reached her ears. "You're amazing, princess." She took the scrap book in her hand, starting to open it and flip through the pages. You stopped her. "Nah uh." You put your hand over hers, shutting the scrapbook closed. "That's for later. When you're back home."
Kate rolls her eyes. "Fine." She carefully puts the scrapbook in her backpack. She crawls back to you, fully laying on you and burying her face in your neck. She starts giving you little kisses on the same spot. "Come with me." She says in between kisses. "Come back to my universe."
"Katie, you know I can't." You sigh. Being long distance was certainly not easy. Especially if you both live in different universes, and don't have any type of communication besides iris messages, that you discovered can work between universes, but those can last just for a couple of minutes. (One time you left the "call" go on for the whole night. You had to toss 15 drachmas to pay for it. The inflation has reached the mythical world too apparently.)
"Please." Her soft voice was humming against your skin. You wanted to. You wanted to be with her, be close to her, falling asleep in eachothers arms and waking up to Lucky jumping on the bed and licking your faces. But you had your family to take care of. You were the oldest of the family. Your mum worked all day long, leaving you to take care of your two little siblings. And also you had college. You had missed the whole first semester due to the whole "disappearing into another universe thing" and now you had to catch up.
"I promise that I will, just not now. I have so much going on right now. I can't just disappear again after being away for months." You made her look at you, cupping her cheeks. "You promise?"
"I promise." You whisper, a small smile tugging on your lips.
She leans in and kisses you. She wants time to stop. Tomorrow morning she'll have to go back and it's going to be another couple of weeks until she can see you again. So she doesn't dare to pull away from you. She wants to be in your arms forever.
Soon her tongue slides in your mouth, sinking into you. But it's not enough. Touching you isn't enough. Her hands move up and down your sides, squeezing your waist over your sweater. Or better, her sweater that you stole the last time you went to visit her. Her fingers graze your stomach and slides her cold hands under the soft fabric. Your skin perks up, a shiver running down your spine to Kate's electric and intoxicating touch.
"Katie..." You whisper when her lips detach for a millisecond. She just hums against your mouth, her hands sliding upwards. She knows you're not wearing a bra underneath.
"Darling..." You say again a bit louder but she continues. And right when her fingertips are about to reach your breasts, you stop her. She leans back from your face, her hands don't move, they're warm, now having stolen the heat of your body. She's looking at you with her mouth agape, she's slightly panting, her pupils are blown out and tendrils tickling your now rosy cheeks. "We can't do that right now."
She furrows her eyebrows and she's about to ask why when someone knocks on your bedroom door. "Y/N?" It's your mum. You totally forgot that on Sundays she only works in the morning. Shit. She tries to open the door. This is the only time you thank the gods for having a crappy and old apartment. The handle of the door is almost broken, so it's pretty hard to open it unless you know the right mechanism to not tear the knob out.
"Quick. Hide somewhere!" You tell Kate as she panics and jumps out of the bed. She looks around and then she hears a click. The handle slightly turns and the door opens. Kate crouches down and slides under your bed right before your mum walks in your room.
You quickly put all the pictures that were next to you on the bed under your pillow and smile innocently. "Hey, mum. What's up?"
"I've made tea, do you want some?" She asks.
"Uhm- no. Thank you. I'm fine." You fold your arms under your chest.
"Are you sure? You've been in here for the whole day. You need to take some breaks from those books." She points at your messy desk.
"Yeah, I know. I'm taking one right now. You know, laying in bed and- looking at the ceiling." Kate has to hold in a laugh for your lame response. "It's very relaxing. You should try it."
"Alright." She says reluctantly. She takes a step back when she notices Kate's backpack on the floor next to your bed. Fortunately her suit was on the other side so she couldn't see it. "What's that?" She points at the black backpack.
"Oh. That's uhm- Will's. He left it here yesterday." You lie. But it was pretty effective because Will actually came to visit you the previous day. He would never own a backpack like that but your mum buys the lie and nods. "Hm. Okay. Well, if you need anything I'll be in the living room. Your siblings want to see Cars again." She states and closes the door behind her.
"Okay. Cool, thanks. Have fun!" You hold your breath until you can't hear her footsteps anymore and pat the side of the bed. "Coast is clear." Kate rolls out from under the bed and lays on your bedroom floor, a smirk on her face. You sit criss cross on the edge of the bed and look down at her. "What?"
"You're right. It is relaxing watching at that nice and smooth ceiling." She mocks.
"Shut up." You dangle down one foot and lightly kick her on her hip. She fakes a hurt face and pouts. She stands up and now she's the one looking down at you. "So, I gather you haven't told her yet?" You shake your head. You did want to tell your mum about Kate. But you know she would freak out. She's... very protective, to say the least. The first time you heard of camp half-blood or the term 'demigod' was when you were 15. You didn't even suspect anything since monsters wouldn't attack as you weren't as powerful as some other demigods. So she took that as an opportunity to keep you safe next to her. But the time comes for everyone and one day, after a big fight with her, you sneaked out, walking all the way to camp. And it wasn't a nice little promenade at all with monsters attacking you left and right every single step.
You only reconciled after the whole thing about your dad getting transformed into a teenage boy. Now you were on pretty good terms again, but her protectiveness hasn't ceased that much.
"I want to. I really do but... She'll definitely ban me from going to see you." You look down. "If she even finds out that in those months I've been in another universe and not at camp she'll probably get into a coma." You scoffed.
"Yeah, but you're an adult now. You are way capable to make your own decisions." Kate sat down next to you and wrapped an arm around your shoulder.
"I know. But the past months we became so close, more close than we've ever been and I don't want to ruin that again." Your eyes are fixed on your lap. You stop the urge to take your fingers to your mouth and bite your nails. Kate sees you getting anxious and she places her hand that wasn't around you over your hands. She speaks with a calm and smooth voice. "Hey, get those bad thoughts out of your head. In the first place, you didn't ruin anything. And secondly, I'm okay with you taking your time. I won't push you to do anything you don't want to." She kisses your temple and then presses your forehead against it.
You lean into her touch and exhale deeply. Then you turn your head, your eyes fix on her collarbone, the sun necklace you gave her is shining on her toned skin. You had a matching one, but with a little moon charm instead of the sun ("That way, it's like we will never be apart." Kate said when she gave it to you.). Then your gaze travels along Kate's features until you meet two oceans rumbling in front of you. "I really love you."
She smiles. "I love you too, baby." She pauses and her sweet smile turns into a cheeky grin. "So no head?"
You chuckle and shake your head. "Can't risk having my whole family hearing your pretty sounds." You peck her nose, making her scrunch it in an absolutely adorable way. "Those are only for me I'm afraid. I can propose some cuddling with a little make out session if you'd like." You suggest.
"Okay. That's fair." She nods in agreement. "Let's get started then, we have so little time and I have to tell you so many things." She climbs on top of you and gently pushes you down the bed. You giggle and your lips press together.
You stayed up all night. Talking about random stuff, taking breaks to make out, and chat again trying to maintain your voices and giggles as quiet as possible.
And it's in these moments where you understand that whatever happens, you won't ever let go of eachother. Because despite the distance you need eachother. The sun and the moon will always need eachother.

hi hii! not sure if requests are open but could i maybe get some mihawk with a (fem) reader that draws him a lot in her sketchbook? like her sketchbook is filled to the brim w drawings of him? in headcanon format if that's alright w chu?
Mihawk x fem!reader sketchbook
AAAAH I LOVE THISSS TY FOR THE REWUEST!!! Let me know if I should add anything Ty for the request! ><
Mihawk is either so busy he can even eat or he’s never busy to the point where all he does is sit there and drink wine for a week and a half, but even though if he is either busy or not, there is one thing he noticed about you, you always have your sketch book and pencil near, or your always doodling away
At first he didn’t know what you were doodling away, your thoughts on a piece of paper in drawing form, honestly he found it cute how you can sit there for hours, with a cute face, doodling.
And every time you finished a sketch, doodle, painting, drawing or whatever you always run up to your boyfriend/husband, Mihawk. And show him the master piece you made, he always react the same way, with in shock and awe at your amazing art skills
” y/n you have amazing talent- is that me? You made me look more handsome “ he say chuckling a bit, who knew a hard core guy could be so soft, but only with you and you only
if he walks by, or he simply watches you doodle, he always love when you draw him, and blushes when you do draw him
one time he went through your sketch book and found tons of sketches of him, honestly he blushed like crazy, he finds it cute and generous that you care enough about him to draw him, of course you care about him but he takes it to heart, and he will make sure these drawings stay safe
he gives you extra cuddles and kisses when you draw him, complimenting you and your talent, and maybe some wine for just for you, who knows. 😝
you like to draw him with his sword, or posing with his sword, he doesn’t necessarily pose for you, he just looks like that naturally, you find it kind of cute and silly and draw him in the pose
at the end of the day he loves you and he loves you even more when you draw him
EXTRA 😈
“ y/n can you draw me in this pose? “ he says as he puts on foot on a barrel and the other on the floor, him holding the cat high in the sky with a serious face, of course he looked silly but you had no choice but to comply
okie dokie that’s it, I hope you like this let me know if I should add anything or if it’s good enough, this is my first time writing a request for someone! Hope I did good!
