notes to the fic: reader is written as gn (one mention off y/n), but pls don't read Nico's part if u identify as female! :)

he's always barefoot during spring and summer

you'll never catch him with shoes on because he things that they are "blocking the fresh air his toes need"

at least they never get that dirty because he can't survive five minutes without jumping in the sea

when he was younger sally had to force him wear shoes to school, to the parkt et cetera and he was always so angry at her after that because he hated it with all his passion

that anger quickly faded after she baked some blue cookies

after growing up he learned that he should wear shoes to school et cetera but the second he is at camp he gets rid of them

after you dressed it he delegated that he always washed them and kept them clean so there was no wrong doing it and that it's actually healthy for your feet

Annabeth

listen, I love annabeth

but she's always mansplaining

Like u could be talking about ur close family that she only met once and she‘d say something like „actually, i had the impression that…“

It’s so annoying

she doesn't even mean it mean or something

but it also could be just a conversasiation that she isn't even involved in and she'll just randomly pop up and mansplain the topic

jason

That boy doesn’t have any basic knowledge

Like he is at camp jupiter since he’s three or something

I‘m not sure if they even knew what they where teaching him

Like that boy doesn’t know algebra

You could be talking about something in history and how deeply that event infected the way society lives now and he‘d be like „what do you mean?“

And he’s serious

Everytime Percy and Leo make fun of him for not knowing something he‘ll run to you and beg you to explain it to him

Most of the time you make a bit fun of him too because a 17 year old boy who doesn’t know what the french Revolution was is kinda funny

He knows that you‘re just joking though

I love her but she's like one of the extra careful mom's whose world break when their child hears a swear word

every time you are someone near both of ou swears she has this weird shocked and impressed look and looks around the room

you had to stop swearing around her bc she always starts blushing and looks at you in awe

they don't even have to be the "bad" swear words, it could be something like shit and she'd still be shocked

you had to learn to find alternatives like fudge or fox

she made you browse for the alternatives to swear words for around two hours at midnight and made you subscribe to the mommy blogs incase they had "more cool little alternatives"

piper

she's a die hard romance book hater

she always gives you the weird look when you read one or even only look at one at the bookstore

like she doesn't even have a plausible reason besides that they "always have the same ending and are very predictable"

I mean she's right but still

when she was 14 she had an instagram where she just talked shit about romance books because she was bored

it's not even that she doesn't like reading or books that much, she just doesn't like them because they (as already said) have the same ending and because she gor sick of the perfect romantic ending after drew talked night in and out about it

you once convinced her to read your favorite romance book and she tried her best to be nice

she actually didn't find it that bad and liked the ending but she would never admit that to you

leo

that boy either doesn't shower for one week or takes two hour showers

it's a bit better in the summer but especially in winter he never shower because he "would just get dirty later again"

you have to force him too properly shower because he would just forget it again

and when he actually showers for once he takes two hour showers

but especially in summer he's just gonna swim in the lake and call it a day because he basically "got clean already"

frank

I love frank sm but he would 7 in 1 shampoo

he doesn't get why it's bad and insists that it makes his hair shinier

you try to explain it to him once but he just doesn't understand 😪

he also tries to convince you all the time that it's so much better than owning body wach, shampoo and conditioner

nico

is a pop music hater

he always has this annoyed look on his face when you play pop music

he always makes this disappointed dad sigh and says "again?"

nico sounds so disappointed

he secretly loves it about you tho

reyna

she's like a confused mom and never gets jokes

"what do you mean by that, y/n? I never do that"

you try to explain the joke to her but give up after 10 minutes

she's grumpy for the rest of the day because you wouldn't finish explaining it to her

eventually she gives her pride up and asks you again

and after another ten stressful minutes she finally gets it

she kept arguing that what you said doesn't make sense

i feel like when cuddling w/ annabeth that there's not really a big spoon or little spoon posistion

it's mainly just your arms wrapped around each other, just a tangle of arms and limbs

dosen't really hug you too much in public but always needs a goodbye hug from you before you go somewhere

she also likes acting out as your pillow with you head on her chest/lap (she probably reads you a book too :))

her hugs are really comforting and warm

she always knows when you need one

she can just tell

she's memorized your body language to a t

might whisper some comforting words here and there

could make any surface feel soft when her arms are wrapped around you

i think she likes to be held more than to hold someone

she can hold you tho, and she's great at comforting you

likes to hum or sing you little songs and melodies

she likes when you play with her braid too

i feel like she gives good bear hugs

she has some meatystrong arms so her hugs are kinda firm, like she's reminding you that she's there and no one can hurt you

her hugs are also surprisingly warm so they're extra comforting

connor's hugs are a little more firm then travis's but still all the more comforting

he likes taking his time with hugging and cuddling

he likes spinning you around too when he gets excited

travis hugs are very playful and warm

likes to come up from behind and give you a surprise hug

also moves around a bit when cuddling but it's fine, he just wants to get in a comfy position :))

i kinda feel like he's a side hugger

so not too big on cuddling

he's not exactly avoidant of pda but he's not looking for it

might put his arm around you every once in a while

when cuddling he likes to be the big spoon, he finally feels like he can be of use and protect you from the cruel world :')

gives the best bear hugs (both literally and metamorphically)

at first he's pretty awkward w/ hugging but grows to love it

he can shapeshift into just about any animal to have a different cuddling arrangement

one day you're being snuggled by a dragon, who's wrapped protectively around you, and the next you're holding a cute lil labrador puppy in your hands

needless to say it's an overall wholesome expierence :)

-He’s hard at work in bunker 9, finding himself drifting off in thought. Mostly of you. Alright, almost all about you.

-Your laugh… Your smile… How you scold him for working too hard…

-He’s so shy about it… He really doesn’t know what to do…

-He recognizes right away that he’s more protective over you…

-She was a blushing mess the rest of the trip and only sighs in relief once she’s back to her room.

-She slides down the door covering her face, feeling just how hot her face was.

- Was that a date? Did you like her? Did she like you!?

- She’d be up all night debating these questions.

Jason Grace:

-Honestly so clueless it’s painful.

-He’d think you guys are just great friends and buddies! No matter how much you flirt with him.

-Kiss on the cheek? Just some friendly affection! Clinging to him and hiding into his chest while he flies? Well you must be scared of heights! He felt bad for that one though.

-He wouldn’t realize it until you stand him still and confess to him.

-He’d take a few seconds to process it, he has a lot on his mind after all but he can’t help the smile and blush that crosses his cheeks as he thinks back and realizes all the flirting. -He’s so embarrassed he didn’t realize sooner, but thankfully you find it cute.

Piper Mclean:

- You’re both on the Argo ll watching the clouds go by. Just enjoying a peaceful moment.

-She glances over at you and sees your calm expression soaking it in. But she feels her cheeks heat up.

-??? Why was she blushing!? She quickly excuses herself and rushes off to her room, quickly closing the door.

-Her heart was pounding, cheeks were heating up… She takes a look in the mirror to make sure.

-Oh no… She really was falling for you.

-She sighs heavily and plops down into her bed thinking about all the moments you shared together… Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to fall for you…

He’s a horrible sleeper

I mean sure, you can sleep and cuddle like the couple you are

However, that doesn’t stop him from sleeping wildly

Limbs sprawled all over the freaking place and the only reason you know is because of the concerning amount of times you’ve woken up under some of them

To make it worse?

He’s a blanket hogger

He doesn’t rlly hog it in the sense that he steals it all

I mean he does, but he sorta just slides off the bed and takes the rest of the blanket with him

The urge to just 🔫

But yea 😞

Nice to cuddle with but not to sleep with sorry not sorry

The first way is pretty compacted

What I mean is, he sleeps he sleeps bundled up by the blanket in a blanket burrito

The other one is where he sleeps sprawled out, limbs all over the place, blanket discarded

Just like Percy

So when he’s in a blanket burrito best believe he’s taking you with him

He usually does this during winter because he naturally runs hot

Anyway, he pulls you in and kinda bundled the blanket around you two for you guys to cuddle and be as close as possible

But when he’s sprawled out with his limbs everywhere he likes to cuddle with you on top of him

That or you’re abused and crushed by him in your sleep

Plus yknow how he runs hot? Well it’s absolute hell

It’s so hot and honestly suffocating when he’s sleeping on you 💀

He’s the best

Sorta…

He’s obviously huge so

He fully embraces you and hugs you so it’s pretty comfortable

𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: following their fellow hero’s death, the remaining seven have to face their decade long feud at the grave.

𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: heroes of olympus x fem!reader

The last thing any of them wanted was to go to the funeral. It wasn’t that they didn’t care; to say that would be the biggest lie any of them would say. No, they didn’t want to show up because the grief they felt was too great. Y/N shouldn’t have died, not when each of them had unsaid words to say to her.

Yet each demigod sucked up their sadness, dressed as nice as they could, and made their way back to Camp Halfblood, where Y/N was to be honored that evening.

It’d been seven years since the Second Giant War, and five years since any of them had met face to face (the exception was Percy and Annabeth, who'd gotten married just before the seven’s falling out). The great heroes of Olympus were nothing but a campfire tale at this point.

Jason was the first to arrive. Silently he stood at her grave, his throat burning with the floodgate of tears he held back. Years ago, when he’d first arrived at Camp Halfblood with no memory of his old life, he found Y/N sitting here with a book.

He’d learned very quickly that it wasn’t smart to disturb her when she was reading…

Under the shade of the big oak tree sat a girl, all alone save for an open book. While the other campers hung out with their siblings and friends, playing varying games and sports, she seemed perfectly content under her tree.

He wasn’t trying to be a creep, but Jason couldn’t help but watch her from afar. He’d seen her in action during last week's capture the flag game. Y/N had scared the shit out of him when she’d come running at him with a sword; Looking back on it, Jason swore he saw death in her eyes.

So when Jason found the angry warrior girl who’d almost skinned him alive trying to get his team's flag looking so peaceful with her nose in a book, he became curious of her.

Annabeth was quick to warn him against going up to her. After he insisted on getting to know her, she grinned and said, “Fine, it’s your death wish.”

It turned out that she was right.

“Umm, hi. You’re Y/N, right?” Jason asked when he was standing in front of her. She wasn’t quick to look up from her book, an eyebrow raised as she sized him up.

“Yeah,” she said, unenthused. “And you are?”

“Jason Grace.”

“Ah. Son of Zeus. I’ve heard about you,” she said, her eyes drifting back to her book for a moment. “Is there something you need?”

The boy scratched at his neck, trying to look casual and not terribly awkward. “Not really. I just remembered you from the game last Friday. You almost maimed me.”

A small grin pulled at the girl’s face, but still, she seemed eager for him to leave her alone. “That was you? Heh, sorry. I’m a tad bit competitive.”

He was about to compliment her sword skills when the grin fell from her face and she looked back to her book. “Listen, you seem nice, but I’m kinda busy in case you can’t tell. Please leave me alone. Thanks.”

And that was the end of that conversation. The next time he held a conversation with her was after his quest to free Juno. She was certainly more kind when she wasn’t in the middle of reading, that was for sure.

The more he got to know her, the more he appreciated her love of books. On more than one occasion some random fact from a seemingly irrelevant fantasy novel saved their asses.

Sighing deeply, Jason rested a blue flower that he’d picked earlier on top of her headstone. He sat down in front of it, finally allowing himself to cry over the loss of his dear friend.

Next was Percy and Annabeth.

Hand in hand, they approached the site. It was on the edge of camp, on a hillside that looked over the cabins. It was surrounded by trees, and Y/N’s favorite flowers were planted all around.

Annabeth stopped at the treeline, her eyes landing on the headstone, and the blond boy kneeling next to it with his head in his hands. She’d told herself she wasn’t going to cry, that she’d cried enough, that crying wouldn’t change the fact that she was gone.

But then, the burning in her throat grew all so worse. Her Hand flew to her mouth, and she choked on a sob. Percy turned, her stationary figure tugging him back. Jason’s head snapped up, his eyes widening upon seeing the two standing there.

He wiped at his face, but his bloodshot eyes gave away that he’d been crying too. The silence was thick, mixing with the surrounding humidity, making the air difficult to breathe.

It’d been some time since they’d crossed paths. “Hey.”

Percy nodded. “Hey.”

Another sob choked Annabeth as she ducked her chin. “Oh, shut up! We’re awful people.”

Jason and Percy turned to her, shocked by her outburst as tears trailed down her cheeks. “What?”

“Every last one of us,” she cried. “She was the only one who tried to keep everyone friends, who could stand to be the voice of reason! And we all... we all abandoned her just because of a stupid argument!”

Before anyone could respond, the wind picked up, blowing their hair all around. Jason looked up, and his throat went dry at the sight of a giant bronze dragon lowering form the sky.

Leo and Piper appeared on its back, both solemn and silent as the dragon landed and they slid to the ground. Piper locked eyes with him, and she nodded without a word.

Annabeth just turned around, wiping furiously at her face. Meanwhile, Leo stared gaping at the grave, as though he hadn’t really expected it to be there. “She’s...”

“Yeah,” Jason snapped. “Yeah. She’s gone.”

Piper shot him a nasty glare as Leo recoiled into himself. “Back off.”

“Listen, I’m just--”

“You’re just not. Okay? Shut the hell up.”

The daughter of Athena whirled around and pointed form Piper to Jason, silencing them in an instant. “We are not bringing this here, to her grave.”

No one dared to bite back. Percy rubbed circles into her shoulders, hoping it helped.

Next thing any of them knew, another figure appeared, closely followed by another. Frank and Hazel, walking at least seven feet apart from each other in awkward silence.

Hazel’s eyes made it to the headstone, and she lost all her breath. Her knees started to give out, and Leo was the only one who thought to run to steady her against him. She buried her head in his shoulder, though not a tear fell. Something about the redness in her eyes said she’d run out of tears.

Annabeth felt a burn of anger rise up wihtin her, and with her hands fisted at her sides, she began again in a broken voice, “We can barely look at each other! We... We left her alone, after all she did for us. She died alone.”

Frank let out a shaky breath, his eyes on the ground. “Annabeth... what were we--”

“What were we supposed to do?” she spat back. Her hands were shaking. “Anything. She was a fucking daughter of Eris. The goddess of strife. She was the only one who tried to get everyone to fucking get along!”

Ten years ago, the eight Heroes of Olympus had gathered at Percy and Annabeth’s wedding. Frank and Hazel were newly separated, Piper and Jason too, and no one was really over how Leo didn’t hurry to come back after Calypso revived him.

It was,

“I bet you loved her attention! Was her head enough to make you forget us?”

“I had died!”

And,

“We were tricked into liking each other by Hera!”

“I loved you, Piper!”

Then,

“Why couldn’t we make it work? Why?”

“You know why!”

And finally,

“Stop fighting at our damn wedding!”

And in the middle of it all, there was Y/N. She stood between everyone, hands raised warily, as she tried to make everyone apologize. It didn’t work. She always blamed herself too; Eris kids only ever make things worse.

Nobody had had a kind word for another of the eight since then. After a while, Y/N stopped reaching out. She stopped trying to get everyone to meet up. She stopped attempting an intervention. She gave up.

And now she’s dead. Killed by a minotaur.

Percy felt it was payback.

In the thick silence, only broken by Annabeth’s heavy breathing and the occasional sniffle, nobody dared to say a word.

Until... “I...” Piper sighed. “I spoke to her. A week ago. She... she tried to get me to call Jason. I refused.”

She closed her eyes, embarassed and ashamed, but then Jason looked up, eyes wide. “She called me too. Asked me to talk to you.”

Leo began to tap his chest with one hand and wipe his face with the other. “Me too. She called me to call Jason and Frank.”

“She wanted me to call Hazel.”

“And me to call Frank.”

Every one of them had refused.

Annabeth just stared at Y/N’s grave, Percy mirroring her, their hands finding each others. “She wanted us to get everyone together, at camp... today. Oh, gods.”

Piper’s eyes widened like saucers. “You don’t think she...” She couldn’t finish.

“I don’t know,” said Percy, eyes unfocused. “I don’t know.”

Hazel shook her head frantically. “She wouldn’t. She was killed by a minotaur!”

Another silence took a hold of them and wouldn’t let go. One by one, each of them haunted by what ifs and worries, one by one they came to sit around the headstone.

Not another tear was shed. Hazel took the blue flowers all around and made anxious little flower crowns, passing them around the circle like some sort of machine, until Leo grabbed her hands and made her stop when everyone had a flower crown, a necklace, and a bracelet to don.

From across their little circle, Jason looked at Piper, finding her eyes already on him. He shivered, and she pursed her lips. He broke the silence first. “It was Hera... I shouldn’t have felt I had a right to tell you how to feel.”

Piper shook her head. “I shouldn’t have assumed we meant nothing to you.”

“Guys,” Leo blurted, plucking petals off his crown. “I... I should have rushed back to ya’ll the moment I could... but I was scared. I didn’t know if ya’ll would want me back.”

Hazel gaped at him. “Why wouldn’t we want you back, Leo?”

“I don’t know.” He rubbed at the back of his neck. “I was the eighth wheel, you know? I didn’t think I mattered to anyone.”

Percy cracked the stick in his hand. “You mattered the world to us... to Y/N.”

Frank nodded. “She was beside herself when you died. I’d never seen anyone so... so...”

“Hopeless,” Hazel finished, locking eyes with him before she quickly looked away. Something in Frank’s chest squeezed.

Leo’s eyes went somewhere behind them all, as if he’d never even played with the idea that he could mean so much to someone. None of them doubted, in that instant, that that was true, and suddenly they wondered for the first time if Leo was as all right as he appeared.

The sun continued its journey across the sky, now hiding behind the trees to offer the group some shade.

Out of the shadows, literally, came Nico and consequently, Will. Annabeth was the first to notice their new matching wedding bands, putting a light smile on her face.

For a moment, all the pair did was stand there, staring at the grave, not saying a word, before Nico tugged on Will’s hand and they were gone nearly as soon as they’d appeared. Everyone pretended not to hear how Nico broke the moment he turned his back.

Some time later, Chiron trotted up the hill, greeted each of them, and lade a laurel wreath on Y/N’s headstone.

Grover and Juniper came up soon after, but they too could only stand to look at the grave for so long before they turned back.

The seven remained, as though intending upon a vigil, in silence. Perhaps to honor her. Perhaps because no one knew what to say. One thing was clear, though, if nothing else: they were done fighting.

“I...” Percy spoke up, sniffling. “We...”

Annabeth took his hand. “Do you guys wanna come for dinner one day?”

She was afraid no one would answer, but almost immediatley Piper leaped at a reply. “Where’s your place?”

“Not far,” said Percy. “Still in Long Island.”

he squeezed Annabeth’s hand, shooting her a teasing look. She only grinned back. “And... well, uhm. We never got to tell any of you... thought it was always too soon--”

“What? What is it?” Leo demanded, on the edge of his grassy seat.

Annabeth and Percy locked eyes in a silent gleeful exchange, before Percy said, “We’re parents.”

Not a jaw was still shut.

“Dude,” Piper gasped. “What--Oh my gods.”

Hazel clapped her hands, a smile to bright that Frank buffered a moment. Leo pointed a thumb at the married couple and said, “Oh, you better bet we’re coming for dinner. Gotta meet tiny Jackson-Chase.”

Laughter bubbled up from the circle, and suddenly, the conversation wasn’t so muddled with bitter memories. Plans were made, silent apologizes given, and hope spread around.

It’d been just five hours since they’d first arrived, yet it felt as if a whole decade was occured. The decade they wasted.

So as each of them stood (Hazel offered Frank her hand, and he gladly took it, towering over her like he always had. Leo and Jason shook hands, before the latter pulled the former into a rib cracking hug. Annabeth wiped at her face, locking eyes with Piper, and threw herself into her arms.) they tried not to dwell in the simmering past.

It was the least they could do for Y/N, who believed they could forgive, even in her last days.

Which is why, hidden in the trees, shrouded by a cloud of mist, tears streaked down a young woman’s cheeks. Her lip trembling and her heart sang at the sight. Perhaps a child fo Eris didn’t have to ruin everything.

She wanted to run, to jump out of the trees before it was too late, to hug them at long last, but the grip on her shoulder made every attempt send shooting pains up her spine.

“It seems,” said Y/N’s mother. “You were right about them, my sweet.”

Y/N glared up at Eris, taking in a deep breath to calm herself. “Please. You’ve had your fun. Your hypothesis was wrong.”

The disapointment all over Eris’ face only made Y/N’s impatience grow. “I’m... surprised. I thought nothing could bring them together again.”

“You don’t give them enough credit,” said Y/N, a small smile gracing her face as she turned back to the seven.

“Or,” said Eris, brows raised. “I didn’t give you enough credit. Certainly, as my favorite daughter I thought for sure your death would only drive them further apart...”

Y/N didn’t like the calculated look on her mother’s face, like Eris was wondering what had gone wrong, and she tugged at her hold on her shoulder despite the pain it brought. “Let me go?

“Aren’t you afraid they’ll be hostile when they see you deceived them?”

The daughter shrugged. “A little bit. But after I explain that you forced me into faking my death for the sake of testing them, I’m sure all their anger will find a much better outlet.”

With a scant smile, Eris ruffled her daughter’s hair. “Good. Now run along. They shouldn't grieve any longer than they have to.”

So she did, sprinting into the clearing without much thinking, not even blinking at the unsheathed weapons that followed her swift appearance.

Breathing heavily, Y/N’s eyes scanned over her friends, still blinking away tears, as one by one their guards fell crashing down. She waved a little. “Hi.”

Hazel broke first, her weapon falling to the grass as she bolted at Y/N, nearly taking them both down with the power behind her hug. The rest didn’t take long to follow, wrapping their arms around you in a stuffy yet welcome group embrace.

“But... how?”

She could only look toward the forest, glaringly so. “Turns out I’m my mother’s disappointment.”

My main struggles with the percy jackson fandom, but its an ADHD rant, that ended up being wayyyy longer than i meant it too.

I can't wait for them to do a heroes of olympus show (I hope so), and most of these leo girls are so surprised when he isn't this super hot, conventionally attractive guy, because in the book he isn't supposed to be conventionally attractive. He's supposed to be kinda ugly, that's one of the reasons he's so jealous of Jason.

It's one of the things that frustrates me most about the percy jackson fandom, is some of the erasure that goes on, in lots of characters. I mean so many. Not only Leo, but also Nico, Piper, Hazel, and Frank. People think of these characters in such ways that are so base level.

There are probably many others, that is just off the top of my head. Now there is things that are understandable, like how Hazel is just a cutie pie, but even then, I feel like people erase how truly powerful she is.

Also, minus nico, this happens mostly to the characters that are people of color, and I'm white, so I don't want to speak to much on something I don't understand. But it is something that happens very much, is that people see these characters as what they are on a base level, but not on a deeper level. Whether that is Piper and how she is barely brought up to be Native American anymore, and Rick Riordan hasn't done this, but I feel like this fandom has majorly white washed her. This has also happened with Frank, who, yes, in the book he does say many times "I'm from Canada, I'm not really Chinese" but thay doesn't mean as a fandom we erase that from him entirely.

This also happens with LGBTQ+ characters, I STILL find people writing nico di angelo x FEMALE readers. Which is unexeptable and not okay. That man has been out as gay for 10 YEARS, and people are erasing that as such a huge part of his character. What is wrong with u, there is a whole chapter that made me SOB as a 13 year old, that you people are not going to take away from me. Especially from someone who was outed.

Also, there are so many fanfictions I read where I feel like everyone's ADHD is just gone, like not there at all. What happened to that? That's such a huge part of how people discovered they were demigods. That's coming from someone who struggles from ADHD, also, if you don't know how to write it, do research, Google is free, and easy to use, and there is many good resources for ADHD research.

So, yeah, as a whole for such a wildly inclusive book series, that I love so much, I feel like this fandom needs to work on the erasure of minorities, as a whole.

annabeth had a teddy when she was younger, but pretty much left it behind and never thought about it again. it’s never bothered her that you go to sleep with them, it’s never bothered her if you’ve brought one on a quest, but she’s never really thought about it much. until she was waiting for you in your room and, out of sheer boredom, began tossing them between her hands and examining the stitching and design. she’s also found that if you’re away from her, the teddies are something that connects her to you. she’ll never tell you, but she may borrow one when you’re on quests or visiting home.

frank zhang 🐻

human teddy bear. that’s why his emoji is a bear and not one of the many other animals he shifts into. frank is a teddy in his own right, but he honestly finds it cute that you have them littering your bed. will absent mindedly tidy them/line them up if he’s alone in your room, probably in height order, or with the smallest in their own row. he’s so interested in everything about you and will ask their names, where you got them, when you got them, what they’re wearing and why, ect. when you’re in that semi-peaceful, post-quest delighted phase of having nothing to do, and more importantly nothing to worry about, you and frank may lay and give them back stories and lives. when he’s a praetor and his responsibilities are almost never ending, it’s a fun pass time that helps him relax.

hazel levesque 💎

honestly, she’s never seen someone with more than one or two rag dolls. like most things in your modern life, it’s a learning curve for her. what she does know is you like them, and that’s all that matters for her. she doesn’t mind them herself, and if you ever gave her one, she’d be such an adorable mess of hardly contained glee. tries to give arion one, but he pretty much just eats it. she was horrified. never again. on nico’s next birthday, she does give him a skull teddy, having discovered they make great gifts, and although he just smiles and rolls his eyes at people laughing, he loves it. it has a prized place next to will solace on his pillow.

jason grace ☁️

bless his soul, he was raised by wolves. he did not have access to any aspect of a regular childhood, nor did he ever resent that. but he did have a scrap of a thing he received from thalia as a baby, almost losing all of it’s stuffing over the years and a single button eye left. but he kept it the whole time, and it brings him a lot of nostalgic comfort. now, as for your teddies, he has no problem sharing your bed with them. they’re comfortable and cute. they aren’t the strict upbringing he experienced at camp jupiter, but he’s discovered many things he’s enjoyed outside of that part of his life. and he’ll make sure to keep you as far away from octavian as possible, and his bloody stuffed animal massacre. puts his glasses on them as placeholders.

leo valdez 🪛

doesn’t see the hype. kidding - kind of. the concept of stuffed animals don’t bother him. they’re cute, they’re fun to make interact with each other (+ put in weird poses because let’s be real if rick’s target audience wasn’t children there’d be twenty sex jokes per any chapter featuring leo), and he has nothing against them. but he does have an innate desire to make them “more interesting”. this includes a lot of lasers and fire and weaponry. “leo, i do not want to lay in bed with my head against a bunch of cogs and risk accidentally shaving my eyebrows off, or worse.” “... no fun.” he will buy/find you more and more, regardless, the pile everygrowing.

percy jackson 🐳

sally jackson got percy some kind of fish teddy the second he was born, partly as a joke, partly as a small vice for her mild disgruntlement at the god’s customary absentee parenting style. he was never particularly attached to it, but i think he’d take it to camp in the summer - he’s got no teasing bunkmates to worry about, tyson’s too much of a sweetheart, and it’s a connection to his mum more than his dad. he may gift it to you at some point. i can see him always checking on your teddies before leaving your room, just to make sure nobody’s been knocked to the ground. he knows you wouldn’t let him hear the end of it if they had. he thinks it’s pretty sweet, your collection, and will buy you one or two before it grows so big he insists you don’t need anymore.

piper mclean 🤎

as a kid, she got iphones and designer handbags, not teddy bears. she never really cared for them, maybe charming her way into stealing a couple, for the kleptomania. it doesn’t, at first, cross her mind when she sees them all on your bed. when she sees you with them, curled up after a hard quest or a long day, however, she finds herself thinking how genuinely nice it is to relax with fluffy things and not much to do. when you gift her a few, she doesn’t necessarily name them or form an emotional attachment, but she does think they’re nice, and will frequently curl with them if she’s tired.

Note : I find him hot... sometimes. I know, I have a problem. Octavian likes you back, by the way. For those who have no idea what Amokinesis means, it's the ability to control emotions of love and desire.

Annabeth Chase

You are a child of Athena but she will look at you like you're the dumbest idiot she knows.

Just kidding, Annabeth is intelligent and will analyze this situation logically.

Best believe this Wise Girl will interview you. However, instead of an employer to an employee, it's more like a lawyer questioning a witness.

What qualities of Octavian do you like the most? When did you start liking him?...Do you love him? DO. YOU. LOVE. OCTAVIAN? Gods, answer (Y/N)!

After her interrogation, she will want to know what are you going to do about it.

Annabeth will give you the pros and cons of dating Octavian if you want to ask him out. She has long list of cons; he's arrogant, condescending, cruel— and many more.

"And the pros, Annabeth?"

Her face morphs into this 'zoned-out' look as she tries to think of any desirable qualities Octavian has, making you laugh.

"Wow, I can't think of anything."

Whether you like it or not, Annabeth will be there when you tell Octavian about your feelings. She'll be hiding (with the help of her invisibility cap), carefully watching his reaction.

She is flabbergasted when a sweet smile slowly forms on Octavian's lips before takes you in his arms, whispering into your ear promises of love.

She is happy for you but she will not hesitate to put Octavian in an onager catapult and throw him across Camp Jupiter if he screws this up.

Piper McLean

To be honest, Piper will genuinely think that Venus cursed you.

Her initial reaction is this; "What in Jupiter's name is mom planning now? Is she insane?"

Will she call out to your godly parent? Hell yes.

Venus appears right before the two of you with an intrigued look on her face. Being the goddess of love, of course she knows of your feelings towards Camp Jupiter's augur!

"Cure her of whatever curse this is."

"Our darling (Y/N) is not under any enchantment."

"It's Octavian, what is there to like?"

"Even the most dreadful of creatures deserve love, my dear. Besides, apart from me, no one else can control where love grows or where it falters."

This reminds her of Jason, silencing her.

Venus, realizing this, gingerly kisses Piper's forehead before placing a hand on your shoulder, telling you how Octavian feels the same.

"He does?"

"Of course, you're my child! Now, go and get him."

You look at Piper for support, you look unsure.

While she doesn't look as enthusiastic as your mother, she nods in encouragement.

You hug both of them before exiting the cabin. By the window, Piper and Venus sees you approach Octavian.

A few minutes later, you kiss him (something that still makes Piper want to barf) and he eagerly kisses you back.

"I will make his life a living hell if he hurts her." Piper whispers to Venus before your mother disappears into the thin air.

This made Venus proud. No matter how beautiful her children are, they are capable of terrifying things.

She just hopes that day will never come or else Octavian will surely meet his end.

Hazel Levesque

We all know Hazel is a very calm, sweet girl who will do no wrong unless she really has to.

But once you tell her about your feelings, she may act on impulse and confront Octavian immediately.

Why, you ask? Because like Piper, she'll think your under some spell. Except it's his doing.

Octavian has an evident malicious nature, a person who's willing to do catastrophic deeds to get what he wants.

You try to reason with her but she was determined.

She finds Octavian having a conversation with Reyna at the Garden of Bacchus.

Hazel promptly aims her spatha at his chest, demanding what he had done with you and how she will kill him if he doesn't solve it.

"What is going on?"

"(Y/N) likes him, it must be Amokinesis."

Both Reyna and Octavian's eyes widen as they look at you for further explanation.

Hazel didn't miss the blush on Octavian's cheeks and how the way the corners of his lips quirk into a small grin as he looks down, flustered.

"It's not Amokinesis, Hazel!"

"And I wouldn't do anything like that to (Y/N)."

Octavian replied, looking at you with such sincerity Hazel hasn't seen before.

Reyna looks back and forth between the three of you, delicately thinking of what to do. She settles the issue by getting you checked.

If there were no signs of Amokinesis then your feelings for Octavian are true.

After it was confirmed that it is, he didn't waste time and told you he shares your affections.

As much as Hazel loves you, she can never accept Octavian.

The two of them will remain in a bitter feud, only tolerating each other's presence for you.

And if Octavian hurts you? Let's just say Hazel (+ Nico) will make sure he spends eternity in Tartarus.

Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano

Reyna will say she's happy for you and urge you to speak more about your feelings.

As you ramble about; from when you realized you like Octavian to your daily interactions with him, Reyna will look for anything suspicious.

Octavian may be obnoxious, though no one can doubt he is a brilliant orator that can manipulate and charm people in his favor.

What if he used the same tactic on you?

Once your done, Reyna will just observe. She will take note anything; how Octavian acts, speaks, or talks about you.

After some time, she concludes that Octavian appears softer with you. Despite his reputation, you bring out another side of him; clement, calmer, more humane, and less evil.

I don't think any of them will particularly approve of him, especially Reyna.

Dating you will not completely change him. In fact, this makes her even more wary than ever.

What will she do if Octavian hurts you? Well, nothing really.

She would just smile, sit back, and enjoy the sight as you destroy him. You're a child of Bellona, after all.

Helping Reader With Insomnia

Leo Valdez:

-I feel like he’s often up late at night too, his mind is just constantly working to the point that he doesn’t want to lay down! But once you two do eventually hit the wall you’ll both pile into bed. The best way to get you both to sleep is for you to mess with his hair as he holds you close, you’ll both be out like a light in just a few minutes. Frank Zhang:

-He is easily the best person to go to if you’re having trouble sleeping. He could transform into any fuzzy, fluffy or soft animal that you’d want. Do you need a big old bear hug? He’ll give you a bear hug, literally.

Percy Jackson:

-He’ll put on a 24/7 whale call stream and fill you in on the gossip of the ocean. It never fails to make you laugh hearing the stories that Percy tells you, honestly you’re pretty sure half of them are false because they’re so crazy but you still love it either way. Annabeth Chase:

-She’s another person I could see being up late, but she knows it’s bad and gets to work on looking up ways to help herself and you.. Any caffeine was cut from your diet before bed, much to your misery. The two of you would make time before bed to just cuddle and read a book. Unfortunately you both end up just staying up even longer getting absorbed in the book. Hazel Levesque:

-She’d bring you tea before bed time to help soothe your nerves. She’s always so kind to you. If you're hard at work in your room she’ll come in with some healthy snacks and tea to help get you to sleep. If you end up crashing at your desk she’d bring you a pillow and a blanket to make sure you’re comfortable. Jason Grace:

-He’d offer to work out with you before bed, that’s what always helps him out! Of course you’d be tired after a hard workout, it always works for him! You cave and give it a try, Jason pushing you to your limit and beyond as he cheers you on every step of the way. Of course you were utterly exhausted and ended up falling asleep before Jason could even finish his workout. Piper Mclean:

-A nice warm bath, there’s nothing better to help soothe your nerves and honestly it’s nice to enjoy the warm water with her. You two both just relaxing and enjoying this moment of vulnerability between each other. Nico Di Angelo:

-He’s always up late at night, honestly if you thought your sleep schedule was bad it made you feel ten times better seeing Nico’s. You start by sleeping whenever he does, just wanting to snuggle with him. Eventually you find that the both of you had ended up sleeping through the night. By helping Nico with his sleep schedule you ended up saving your own as well! Reyna Ramírez-Arellano:

-It’s only once you two start to date do you realize Reyna had a gentler side. She of course had trouble sleeping with her work constantly on her mind. But she also couldn’t afford to not sleep and she was very intent on getting you to sleep as well.
