Oh, seriously? 👀 I mean, I saw them liking comments and commenting, but with someone who addressed the topic with Jake’s make? This is quite interesting. Very interesting. I mean, we know Everbyte is good when it comes to hints. Of course, it can also be a coincidence, but it is bold. Hehe.

But, I mean, I'm pretty sure Jake will be back in Moonvale.

Why should they mention him in such an obvious way when he won’t be in Moonvale? That wouldn’t make sense to me. And if we are honest, jake is one of the biggest reasons why there is the duskwood code option. Jake was the most popular character and even though we like the others, we all wanted (needed) Jake back. In some way, jake will still be there. And nobody can change my mind. xD So I can really imagine that it is another little hint from Everbyte, just a little extra. To make the waiting a little more exciting but also more bearable.

Nevertheless, I have to mention again that it was just liked by chance because they liked a lot of comments. Even if I'm almost 100% sure Jake will be there, I don’t want to spread false hope.

But thank you very much for sharing this with the Jake comment, you never know where the next clue is. Everbyte wanted detectives, they got detectives. 🤭

Let's see what happens next. Maybe there will be another little clue before Moonvale gets released. I really hope so. 💚

I keep imagining that Jake and MC became so famous that people created FANFICS about the two of them or about the Duskwood case itself, I was surprised by this decision by everbyte and I believe that they read a lot of fanfics from extremely talented authors in the fandom and want to somehow reproduce it in the new game.

(I imagine Jake reading these fanfics in the game and being embarrassed when he finds a hot one)

Well, yes! Absolutely needed to remember. Tbh, after finishing episode 10, the last few days I really had to think about it excessively, I still don’t know what to think about it. I mean, I don’t know any game or similar that that has ever done this. It's so, wow. And also 'wtf' xD

And in fact, I have the same theory as you, which would definitely make a lot of sense, if not most sense. And that’s why I don’t know exactly what to make of it, especially, what fanfictions will they use? And how exactly it is going to be, ahhhh. It's crazy, definitely.

Another possibility would be that it is something like another forum, only this time for writers or something. Or another library-like thing. I mean, had this two things in duskwood. And finding some 'books' aka fanfictions there would be interesting as well. Or yeah, like in the forum, people shared their written things.

This is a huge mystery, tbh. I can’t believe Everbyte just dropped that question and then didn’t mention it ever again. How can they do this to us? 😭 It's truly tormenting my thoughts. xD

However, I am also a bit afraid of how it will be and how exactly it will turn up. I mean, this could get a lot of people into fanfiction who don’t know or appreciate this kind of creativity. I feat it could also lead to hate for the authors or for people making jokes about it etc. So I really hope everything is going to be careful with it.

And also, gosh, if they read fanfiction... PLEASE NO. I mean, I don’t know if they know about tumblr and the fandom but just imagine it is... WAHHHHH. A bit embarrassing, tbh. But also kinda cool. Because it's absolutely right, we have so many amazing writer in this community and I would love it when Everbyte knows about them. They writer deserve to be appreciated for it.

And, Jake reading some smut about him and MC... I LOVE THIS so much. It would be so funny and well, hot. This imagine is incredible. Also that other people around MC would know about these type of fanfiction and that people wrote some including MC. Call me weird but I love that as well. Hehe. It is definitely a slightly different way to show off. But it's a good way.

First time interacting with you (well anonymously anyway!) but I needed to share something about Moonvale!

I got the feeling that we will see a news report somewhere in the first episode where they will talk about the fire in the mines and/or how the FBI is still hunting the hacker that was in the fire as he successfully escaped the fire and them! As for the people who never played Duskwood it won’t really matter but to those who played it will be a hint that he is still alive and that he will contact us if we have the code !

anyway! I can’t wait for Moonvale to come out as I am playing, AGAIN, Duskwood for the nth time now.

And damn, woah, I love this idea! To be honest, I never thought about it but it could really fit. Especially since we already had a news report in Duskwood. And after that happened at the end.. I'm pretty sure there will be reports about all of it. Simply because of the old mine. Something terrible happened there before and now once again. For news it would be an amazing story.

And maybe Moonvale-only player wouldn't even have to watch it. We have to enter the code right at the beginning, so maybe it will only be shown to code-player. For us it would definitely be a great way to inform us and to got us into the side story. And to start Moonvale with a huge bang. 😌

Hello hbj, I saw that you are going to episode 10 again and I reached Jake's final conversation for the thousandth time and the feeling of agony and tightness in my chest continues, parting with Jake is inevitably painful, I honestly don't see a way out for Jake, based on his description, he's either arrested or killed, I cling to the idea that everbyte wouldn't be crazy enough to kill Jake but arrest him... maybe?

I agree Everbyte wouldn’t do that. We have often talked about how many reasons there are that it will not happen. Simply from a business perspective, that would be unwise. However, in my opinion, there are pretty obvious clues that Jake will be back in Moonvale.

I’m one of the people who would find it very interesting if Jake were actually arrested. I think you could make a lot of cool things out of it. And I think 'just' an arrest still gives us enough opportunities to get back in touch with Jake. There’s still a theory that MC has to help the FBI, along with Jake, after an arrest. I don’t know if that would be a bit too much for a game, but the possibility exists. But the main thing is that I’m absolutely sure that Jake will come back in some way. If not... But I said, I find it very unlikely. And I don't want to think about other options xD

But yes, the emotions while playing episode 10, especially when you reach the last conversation with Jake, it gets me every time again. Heavily. I always try not to think about it so much, what I ignore is not really there. ;)

And I’m happy to be able to restart the game every time, if you start everything from the beginning it’s almost like nothing happened. Almost. 👀 Anyway, I hope you could overcome the end of episode 10 well and it was bearable. This messanger - chat - concept gets you extremely much. It's special but makes games even harder, haha.

Well, yes, in fact, I choose this option every time. It's much more exciting. So, no, you absolutely do not lose the relationship with others, no one is angry or similar. Lilly asks you to not let it happen that one of them goes into the wood. But even she understands why we said yes to Thomas. Of course, nobody thinks it's a good idea, especially Dan, as always, is against it, but nobody gets mad.

Imma done with duskwood lmao 😂 Too long waiting, I wrote my own ending and now I lost interest in duskwood xD I know they are a small group of developers but they must realize their fandom is slowly dying :( It's sad but it is the truth 🥺 I see so many duskwood writer going quiet or writing OG works....

Well, that's very sad. But I don't think the fandom is dying. Not at all. First of all, it's January, trust me when I tell you, it's always very quiet in January. It's a stressful time. While December for example is more way more active. People have more time and winter makes more people to stay at home etc. It's not unusual for this time. Nevertheless, I do understand a bit what you mean. Of course we're waiting for Moonvale for a longer time now, but I think it's understandable. At least, I was expecting a long time for it to come out.

And I'm pretty sure they're aware of it... I see enough people starting to hate on them, leaving mean comments on Instagram etc. They know we're all waiting and they also know people become more and more inpatient. And I guess it's for them as hard as it is for us. I don't know what is going on there at Everbyte, but I'm very sure if they could they would work faster. But I think they already use every possible second to work on it. I mean, for them it's their income, their way to earn money, I don’t think they can just put Moonvale aside and chill, haha. Maybe they even have a second job, I don’t know, we don't know about the circumstances. I'm repeating myself, but I am convinced that this situation is difficult for Everbyte as well. And I don’t think they themselves expected it to take that long.

Still, I understand what you’re saying and how you mean it, but now, I think losing interest in things is normal. It happens all the time. And especially since Duskwood has been finished for quite some time now, the hype disappears at some point, but with luck it comes back. I mean, have you ever watched a movie you really liked but then you had to wait 3 or 4 or even more years for the second part? You’re not as excited about the movie every single day as you were the first time. You wait, maybe you lose interest in time, as I said, it’s normal. When the film is released, when it is finally ready, the joy often comes back. The movie was released and then you can decide if you want to watch it anyway, if it is worth trying, or if you are not interested anymore. Both is possible. Of course it's sad if you're absolutely done with it but it's simply normal and I don't think you can do anything about it.

And whether there is a connection between Moonvale and the more frequent occurrence of original works that I can not judge. I rather think it's simply because it's way easier to reach people with writing fanfiction. So, you can write fanfiction, write things you enjoy a lot and then you're interested in writing something made by yourself from top to bottom. You already reached some people so if you're lucky, maybe they will also be interested in an original work. I know many writers who simply never dared to publish original stories. But if one persons starts to publish their work other might get the missing courage to do it as well.

And yes, it’s also true that many Duskwood writers don’t post that much anymore. Of course, it will also be due to the fact that everyone’s joy and the excitement decreases a little after a while. Just like it happened with you. And that's okay as well. But I can also tell you that some people don’t read as many Duskwood fanfictions as before, which can be very demotivating for writer. But it’s also that the time we live in is nothing but hectic and exhausting. So much is going on. Everyone has so much stress. Health problems became much more present. Time is simply the enemy for many, the exhaustion does not allow people to write because something else is always going on. But in every other fandom it is no different, absolutely not. But because the Duskwood fandom is so much smaller it just stands out much faster. It's much more visible.

It's just a hard time in general. :/

Please don’t get my words wrong. I don't want to sound mean or rude or anything. Really. And I do understand what you mean and sometimes I even feel similar. It's a pity you're feeling this way by now but as I said, it's nothing unusual. It's sad when you lose things that used to bring you happiness but I think you can do nothing about it. I just hope at some point your excitement will be back and maybe you're even going to play Moonvale. I think it is not good to force yourself to like something if you have really lost interest. And instead of Duskwood and moonvale, I hope you find something else to enjoy. 💚

I'm crying. This song is actually one of my top Jake x Mc songs. But rather this one tiktok (?) version (1:20 time) instead of the original, because I have so many imagines for this part. It just fits too well to a moment when Jake and MC meet and look into each others eyes for the first time. I mean..

Imagine..

... A moment after episode 10. Richy was saved from the mine with most serious injuries. Hannah is also being examined and the group has been in the hospital for hours waiting for information, either about Hannah or about Richy.

All of you are waiting next to the door leading into the operating room area. It is a square, bare and of course, kept in all white, room, however, is open from all three remaining sides and serves as a small intersection of the hospital. You sit in the right corner of the room on blue and incredibly uncomfortable plastic chairs. Directly opposite of you is the white wall on which only a small empty picture frame hangs that you have been staring at for 20 minutes.

About two meters next to the picture frame on the left side is the passage from which you also came when you all followed the hospital staff when they took Richy to the operating area. You all haven’t spoken a word for about an hour. You all hang on to your own thoughts, trying to process and understand all that has happened the last hours. The mood is depressed and none of you would have the right words, if you wanted to talk to each other.

Of course you are also concerned about Hannah and Richy. Even if everything that happened is terrible, none of you want to lose Richy and the concern for him is big. As for Lilly and you, you’re also worried about what happened to Jake. Whether he was arrested or whether he managed to escape. All the uncertainty is eating you up and you feel like you’re starting to lose your mind while you’re waiting here and can’t do anything. Alan left you again because of course there was a lot of work for him and also he could not answer you to your questions about Jake which worsened your mood even further.

Now you have also widened your eyes and you definitely need a moment longer than Lilly to realize that Jake is standing here in front of you. You stare right into his eyes, he stares back . And even if Lilly clutches him tightly, he also puts his arms around her, his gaze never leaves yours. His look is so intense that you get goose bumps on your back, but that could also be due to his whole appearance. His clothes, his attitude and his incredible aura give such an extreme contrast to the white hospital walls.

Now the others finally seem to notice what is going on as well and while you get up from your chair you hear Dan murmuring "Well.. look at that, hacker man is here" But the voice of the bearded one sounds so far away from you. All you perceive is Jake, who you confessed your love to a few hours ago after he took the first step.

This is the last piece you missed until the final realization. Some of the tears that you have held back so far now flow over your cheeks and just like with Lilly, an automatically breathed "Jake" escapes your lips, which breaks off at the end, hoarse by all the emotions that flood you.

Jake’s voice is also just a whisper as he lets go a "MC", which Lilly probably sees as a sign to detach and step aside to finally give you both the opportunity to be close to each other. And you don’t let any chance pass, but walk towards him with quick steps. As if it had been agreed, you wrap your arms around his neck while he wraps his tight around your lower back and your lips collide with each other.

You tremble in his arms from the sudden and extreme release of happiness hormones. His own breath also trembles between his lips and mixes with yours. Your kiss is short but the most beautiful thing you have ever experienced.

Lack of air is the reason you have to separate, but none of you want to interrupt the close contact of your bodies, so Jake leans his forehead against yours. Your noses are touching, his breath touches your lips and you both can’t help getting another quick kiss.

To be honest, you had always expected that your first personal contact would be much more difficult and you both would be a little uncomfortable.
