Sasuke's birthday ! All about Sasuke! You have to organise the perfect birthday for Sasuke, what would you do? Who would you invite?
!! RULES !!
1. Use the hashtag #uchihaweek2023 or #uchihaweek
2. At least one Uchiha-born needs to be the focus of your art : Main Uchihas : Sasuke, Madara, Itachi, Obito, Fugaku, Mikoto, Izuna, Tajima, Izumi, Shisui, Naori, Kagami, Sarada, Indra (yeah… technically not an Uchiha but he fathered them all!) Minor Uchihas : Inabi, Tekka, Uruchi, Teyaki, Yashiro, three unknown Madara’s brothers
3. Loose interpretation, and/or NSFW version of each prompt is allowed except inc*st and paedo***.
NB: incest concerns family relationship : parent/children, grandparent/grandchildren, sibling/sibling, first cousin/first cousin. A clan is different, by definition it's a mix of different family lineages which see themselves as descending from the same distant ancestor (in this case Indra).
4. If you need help to brainstorm your ideas, join our Uchiha Week channel in our Madara Squad discord HERE
5. Send us comments/asks/DMs or contact directly our mods @al-hekima-madara-blog and @margretesonigiri for more informations !

How do you think Sasuke would've been like if he didn't go through what he did? Do you think his personality would still be similar to how it is now, or way different? I think some things will definitely remain the same, like his personality being the opposite contrast to Naruto's, and being an introvert. But I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thinking about how Naruto would be like is also pretty interesting, but not as much as Sasuke since he's way more traumatized and changed dramatically since he was a kid. There were some fillers that showed that he chased cats and took those cat missions really seriously, which is really cute and makes him seem kinda goofy like Naruto, but they're still fillers so idk how accurate that is. Still, he was very friendly and sweet as a child even in canon. He's such an interesting and complex character!
Hi~
That’s hard to predict because living life without going through what he has in the story is… quite the contrast. He'd still be goal-driven. I wonder if Fugaku would acknowledge Sasuke similarly without Itachi becoming distant. Would Itachi spend more time with Sasuke and allow them to train together had he not been burdened the way he was? There are so many variables to take into account.
And let’s be honest… wouldn’t we want to know how Kishimoto would answer that? Considering people’s belief about the Uchiha’s “evil” destiny-tainted with hatred and all that- being genetic? Oh, there’s so much to say about that alone. Try making that point without Konoha’s elite members ordering his entire family to be murdered by the person he loves and trusts most for the sake of everyone else’s safety. Good luck with that.
One thing Kishimoto has said about writing Sasuke always stuck with me though, which was:
Tumblr media
He’s basically saying that, in order to write Sasuke, he needs to make sure his character image won’t be messed up by putting him in situations where he wouldn’t be in the first place.
There’s a lot of debate among writers when it comes to character/plot driven stories, but Sasuke’s journey is very much character-driven in the sense that plot is/should be changed in order to allow Sasuke to drink the tea that he likes. It doesn’t make sense otherwise. Often, fillers, novels and other material that are technically official, but not made by Kishimoto, completely miss the mark and force him to drink the juice when he wouldn’t ever do that in the first place.
And so, screw up his character entirely. (Not Sasuke alone though.)
If Sasuke didn’t go through these horrible things, a lot will be different, but I’m pretty sure his personality would stay similar when it comes to drinking the tea he likes. He’d still avoid the juice despite different circumstances. He wouldn't ever drink it. And how that would be like precisely… well, your guess is as good as mine, really.
Sasuke can be goofy and playful though. Way more than people seem to think? He’s just selective when it comes to who he feels comfortable enough to show it to. As he should. Again, filler (etc-) also often don't take that into account. A lot of it is either completely exaggerated or they make him into this cold-hearted character without any sub- and/or context that does it justice.
I don’t think Naruto and Sasuke’s trauma’s can, and/or should be, ever measured against each other though. The story made it a point that it’s hard to understand one or the other for good reason. I also don’t think Naruto has changed much as a character? Although he gained better understanding about a lot of things and therefore took different approaches, he’s also repressing a lot of what he’s feeling in order to people please in a way that gains him the acceptance he craved for. Underneath all of that, there’s still that part of him that he’s denying in order to belong in the environment that denied him.
And yeah, how do we feel about that? ;-;

Building from the previous Naruto training ask, red light Sasuke trains with Kakashi but unlike Sakura and Naruto who become better versions of their teachers Sasuke does not become the second coming of the copy ninja. No he becomes the second coming of the white fang. Sasuke who has learnt how valuable those around him are and what its like to lose them being trained by Kakashi “your friends before the mission” Hatake. Kakashi telling Sasuke stories of his father and how he died and Sasuke who lost everyone to a mission (because with Orochimaru’s return and Danzo’s arrest came the truth) Sasuke would admire the man who prioritized his comrades. Slowly Sasuke grows, his hair gets longer and put up into a ponytail, he becomes stronger and skilled with a blade until Kakashi gifts him his fathers blade. A white tanto famed for leaving behind a white slash. Sasuke getting the same summoning contact (wolves) that Sakumo had. Suddenly every nation that once feared the white fang sees him again, this time with black hair and red eyes but with the same amount skill, power and genius behind that white slashing sword and he’s only getting stronger. Sasuke Uchiha, the White Fang Reborn, the man who will protect his comrades no matter what, the man who will confront his past, confront his brother and save him from the darkness he plunged himself into.
Sasuke becoming an avenger of a different sort.
Sasuke baring his teeth at the injustice of what was done to him and his brother, to so many kids like them, and deciding enough was enough.
Sasuke who uses his influence as the technical Uchiha head (a clan in more than name with the confirmation that the only other surviving member of the main line was not a traitor.) to make the world around them change for the better.
Sasuke who turns first to the red light district and the forgotten Uchiha who had helped ease so many of his own hurts when he was young. Who had made him feel less alone. Who had taught him that he could choose his family.
He names them Uchiha in truth, names them his heir while he’s at it, because if something should happen to him in his crusade at least there will be someone who knows, someone brought up in the District that raised him to carry on his dream.
He bares his teeth at the world, with Sakura at one shoulder and Naruto at the other, and together the three of them drag everyone around them into something better.

NARUTO thoughts; team 7
This is vastly different from my usual type of post but I’ve been meaning to post a bit of a rant about Naruto since it’s one of my old favourite’s, and it’s my tumblr, I can post whatever lame things I want. To begin with, I would like to preface that my favourite characters are the original Team 7 (no not the old people, I’m talking about Kakashi’s Team 7), which I think will be kind of obvious throughout this post considering this post is literally about the generations of Team 7 and its reflections on the new gens. Also, yes this post will contain spoilers for everything to do with Naruto and possibly some spin offs. Cry about it.
The general premise of Team 7 as an ongoing generational thing is so interesting to me, because it's like an exploration of generational trauma but for anime dudebros who think that Naruto is just some 2D anime on how Naruto and Sasuke get so many women and fight all the time (even though it technically is 2D). The idea that tragedy follows Team 7 through every generation is incredible, ignoring the fact that Team 7 seems to always have a set archetype with its members, which seriously isn't working but no one thinks to change it. And since a member of Team 7 or perhaps someone related to Team 7 will continue to teach the next lot of them, it very much is a generational thing. It always seems to follow the same kind of archetype, but with slight variations.
Cool and aloof genius who’s just a Little Traumatised (probably)
Hot-headed and emotional loser who has a heart the size of a country
girl.
I have another post planned about sexism in Naruto but for now, simply ‘girl’ seems to fit best in accordance with the introduction of every female Team 7 member (sans Sarada, she was a girlboss from day 1). This dynamic doesn’t seem to be doing pretty well for them because the Cool and aloof genius ends up more traumatised/defects from the village, and the hot-headed emotional loser desperately tries and pulls the team together/grates so harshly against the Cool and aloof genius he ends up tearing himself apart in the process, whilst the girl waits quietly in the background, silently trying to catch-up with her teammates.
I see many people comparing the female team member, specifically Sakura, to the heart of Team 7 but I disagree with that a ridiculous amount because the heart is so clearly Naruto. He’s the one who’s dragging Sasuke back to Konoha, constantly holding onto the idea of Team 7 as a team, a family. Sasuke is the soul, the reason all other team members work so hard, so they can match him and bring him home. And Sakura is the mind, the textbook genius who works the hardest to catch up to her teammates, using her incredible intellect to prop the team up where their lack of other skills becomes apparent.
As a side note, I don’t believe that Konohamaru’s Team 7 adheres to the previous generations of Team 7 and the archetype which is interesting because previously it’s Cool and aloof genius (Orochimaru, Kakashi, Sasuke), hot-headed emotional loser (Jiraiya, Obito, Naruto), and girl (Tsunade, Rin, Sakura), but the new gen of Team 7 differs because they are the amalgamation of 3 whole generations of bad endings for Team 7 and they must eventually learn from their mistake and get their shit together. Boruto, although being the loudest, is actually the Cool and aloof genius. Sarada has a heart the size of a country and dreams to be Hokage. And Mitsuki is girl (not actually but in terms of personality he hasn’t got much going on).
I think my favourite part of this however, is the idea that with each generation, the Team gets better, and they learn from the mistakes of the previous generation, even if they didn’t know them personally. And I think this is best presented with Kakashi’s Team 7, because not only were they taught by Kakashi, a member of the previous generations Team 7, but they were also taught individually by the Sannin, all who were members of the first Team 7, and they learn from both of these Team 7’s and they combine it all into the best possible dynamic for Team 7. Team Sarutobi loses Orochimaru and the team splits off to go their own separate ways, whereas team Minato sticks together as best they can until everyone except Kakashi dies, but with this, he takes the words of his father to heart and instills them in his Team 7. “Those who break the rules are scum.... but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum” he says, and they take this to heart. Where Sarutobi’s Team 7 abandoned their teammate Orochimaru when he defected, Sakura and Naruto never give up on Sasuke, and where Minato’s Team 7 ends in everyone's death after their initial incompatibility, Kakashi’s Team 7 learns and becomes the strongest shinobi like ever.
Yes, this mostly excludes Konohamaru’s Team 7, but I think that they deserve their own analysis, because their parents worked hard so they have the weight of their predecessors' names, but none of the suffering that the previous generations did. The new generation of Team 7 represents the least traumatised Team 7, and also specifically backs away from the generational inheritance that’s prominent in Naruto, probably because of the time gap between Naruto and Boruto.
As a reference to a point I made about Kakashi before, having him revived from the dead was just so stupid. I love Kakashi don’t get me wrong, but having him be revived was weird because like, how come everyone else dies? Lord knows Kakashi probably wanted to die anyway, living just continues to fuel his ridiculous guilt complex.
This post was so mean in places but after years in this fandom, I’ve had to alter my behaviour and writing style to mimic the toxic fans who are assholes to everyone, especially when in relation to women (which I spoke about in a positive light, god forbid). To all those lovely people who probably thought ‘wow, this person is so crass and rude’ I swear my other posts are much nicer in comparison :)

Hope AU where If Ino discovers the real reason of the Uchiha Massacre and about Shisui’s mysterious death, Girl she would do anything in her power to keep Sasuke away from the village. She will be on Sasuke’s side no matter what. Sasuke will be the executioner, Ino is the schemer and the voice of reason. Now thats a ride or die squad that Konoha gonna watch out for.
Imagine they would reunite together. In the Fourth Shinobi War and all of Konoha 12 is there. They would stare at each other first in disbelief. And then went for a big reunited hug. (Sasuke reciprocates of course) Because their brothers are now dead and they are the remaining siblings left and they now will do their utmost power to keep each other safe. Konoha 12 is in a shock (except for Shikamaru and Choji because they know the truth). Damn How will Sakura and Naruto react to this? Sasuke doesn’t react much affection to them. And now they saw these two hugging in a sibling-like manner and Sasuke even reciprocates?
Hmmm I'm not sure tbh, Anon, because the big difference between Sasuke and Ino, of course, is that Sasuke lost absolutely everything and Ino lost one person. She still has her friends, family, and sanity (not to mention the whole bloodline/sharingan/Mangekyou complications with Sasuke, trauma, and Itachi)
The truth to Sasuke made him question his entire life and avenger mentality, that all along he'd been gunning for the wrong (technically) person and that it really was all Konoha's fault, since his clan had also turned against the village before the massacre so he, in a way, is following their footsteps.
Ino, however, still has everything except Shisui, she's likely never questioned her loyalty or her own place in Konoha and she still has a great deal tying her to the village. Sasuke leaves because he thinks there's nothing left for him, even before he learns the truth; I couldn't say the same for Ino.
I've talked about her relationship with Sasuke and their... Understanding, shall we call it, in this post which also has a link to a drabble prompt I did:
Ino and Sasuke don't have a good relationship as kids, Sasuke was raised in a pretty insular way (surrounded by Uchiha cousins, more interested in his brother than making friends, the traditions and expectations on him) and he never approved of Ino's claims that Shisui was basically her brother, believing that blood was everything (the big point in how I look at Sasuke and Ino's relationship).
Similarly, Ino never liked Sasuke - in HOPE AU they're very much rivals and there is no crush - and was extremely hostile and defensive against him, something Sasuke matched blow for blow. I think, post massacre, Ino would try to reach out because, hey, we're both grieving, and Sasuke would absolutely hate her for it because he never thought she had any right to his cousin in the first place.
(There's a chapter in Tomorrowland where Ino processes her grief... Including getting into a very ugly fistfight with Sasuke when he denounces her)
After discovering Danzo's betrayal and the real cause for Shisui's death, the Uchiha massacre, and understanding more about Sasuke's abandonment, I really think the most you would get out of either of them at that age is a grim, hard earned, recognition of the other. They're not friends, no, but they can at least recognise the other's perspective now.
I think, long term, their relationship would go one of two ways;
One, they exist in this unspoken truce. Lots of solemn/hard/knowing eye contact, slow nods, skirted around topics. They never speak of it beyond the necessary, but they exist in a shared kind of silence.
Two, they find a way to coexist with the other's grief. Sasuke might unbend enough to give Ino the Crow Summoning contract, since he already has the Snakes. Ino gets her teeth capped and finally gets to speak to Shisui's Summons, learning another side of him and gaining more allies in her grief. Sasuke might learn to live with Ino's company, in a sarcastic exchange of barbs, he might ease his way into a very strange friendship with her because she, at least, understands a little better and doesn't look at him like he's pitiable or someone to be executed (she looks at him with anger still, and it's so familiar it's almost comforting).
Them having a heartfelt and demonstrative relationship... I think, for that, the key problem is that Sasuke is deeply possessive of his grief and Ino, as much as they have a loss in common, just cannot understand. Sasuke never acknowledged her relationship to Shisui, not until the reality was that Ino was going to Mindwalk him and very possibly lose her shit at what she found there. Literally and emotionally embracing Ino relies on Sasuke thinking that Ino is a valid participant in his grief and loss and Sasuke... Doesn't think that

To He, Who Hung the Stars: Ch 3 Thoughts for the Future
SSBlankPeriod2023
Despite it being the middle of July, the freezing air of Yukigakure keeps the newlywed pair bundled inside their honeymoon cottage. Not even Sakura expected their relationship to progress so quickly, yet it never felt rushed in the slightest. Moreso they’ve been making up for all of the lost time.
Being in love with the same person her whole life; watching him grow from an avenger to a protector, someone who wanted to cut off all his bonds to strengthening the ones he has, who rejected her twice to proposing they get married because he didn’t see the point of waiting when they’re both so deeply in love and their connection is already unbreakable.
It’s a lazy day, a break from their typical routine of being a traveling pair – walking through forests and climbing mountains or touring sights and exploring towns they happen upon. After building them a fire in the fireplace, Sasuke sits on the floor in front of the coffee table while writing what look to be letters. She’s noticed him writing a few times, usually in the early mornings or late at night when he’s on lookout if they’re camping, (although she has never seen him send one throughout the duration of their trip).
Sakura stands in the kitchen, chopping vegetables to use in the curry they’re making for dinner. In exchange for teaching Sasuke medical ninjutsu, he’s been helping her learn a few dishes during their journey. Not only has she noticed an improvement but cooking meals with him has been fun, even if they don’t always turn out the best they’re still able to have a good laugh about it before trying again. Being snowed in has given her ample time to practice a few recipes, and with Sasuke’s birthday just a week away Sakura wants to make him something special.
When she works on the sauce she hears Sasuke’s footsteps come up behind her, placing his hand where the Uchiha crest is located on her back. Sakura notes he must enjoy seeing her wear it; catching him staring when she turns her head or looks in the mirror, and he’ll often place his palm over it as if he’s checking to make sure it’s really there. No longer is he the only member of his clan, even if in the eyes of some she’s only an honorary member, Sakura will carry his family name with pride.
Slipping into their new roles as husband and wife has been flawless, nothing changed between them aside from the nicknames they occasionally call each other.
“Tsuma,” the word rolls off his tongue with ease. Sasuke wraps his arm around her waist and rests his chin on her shoulders.
“Yes, Anata?”
He doesn’t respond right away. Sakura follows where his eyes are looking to find him focusing on the sun casting a warm orange hue across the snowy landscape as it sets behind the mountains. It’s a beautifully breathtaking sight, she thinks. One she could look at all day and never grow tired of it.
“I want us to stay like this for as long as we can,” Sasuke confesses.
“How so?” she asks, indulging him.
“It’s a selfish request, but just you and me in our own little corner of the world. We don’t have to be in Yuki per say but any place where we can be together, where there’s nothing to worry about and no one to bother us,” his embrace tightens as he explains.
“So you basically want to hide away?” she lightly jests, fighting back a grin. Sakura can tell he probably rolled his eyes at her comment. “But seriously, I would like that too. Visiting all of these amazing places has been great and I’ll never forget it, but my favorite part is that I got to see them with you. I feel like I know you inside and out, and yet there’s still so much about you I want to learn. Konoha will always have a special place in my heart, but traveling with you has been like a dream and I’m not ready to wake up yet,” Sakura says thoughtfully, placing one of her hands over his.
They never said when they’d go back to Konoha, technically speaking they could never return – instead become nomads or settle down in a small cottage similar to this one. Could they live a calm, simple life all to themselves? Free of shinobi duties and obligations? Where they can still work their odd jobs, and maybe Sakura could set up her own little private clinic?
They would still need to visit occasionally, she figures, there’s no way Ino would let her miss her wedding and her parents would want to meet her husband at some point; once they actually informed everyone that they got married. She’s been meaning too but for now it’s been nice keeping it a secret from everyone back home.
If they eventually have kids, would it be better to raise them in the village near close friends and family? They’ve talked about the possibility of having children but not in detail.
“Sakura,” he calls, pulling her out of her wave thoughts. Sasuke stands straight, brushing a lock of pink hair behind her ear. Sakura arches her head to look at him more fully. “I don’t know exactly what’s going on in that head of yours, but we can take it one day at a time. It’s worked for us so far, right?”
“Yeah,” she takes a deep breath. He’s always been good at calming her down when her mind starts to run rampant, as she does for him too, bringing her back to reality and assuring her feelings. “You’re right.” Standing on her toes, Sakura gives him a chaste kiss on the cheek. “Thank you.”
“Mhm,” Sasuke hums. “The sauce smells good. Is there anything I can help with?”
“Can you check on the meat? Once that’s ready we can mix everything together and let it simmer while the rice cooks.”
“Of course,” he kisses the crown of her head.

Lot of Sakura fans tend to talk about Sakura’s above NaruSasu because she wasn’t “born” in a precious clan and wasn’t privileged unlike them . Can you break this down cause its really fucking annoying to see this everywhere
Hello Anon. I might try:
First of all, Sakura was born in a clan -there’s no mention of her being born in a civilian family and becoming the first shinobi of her lineage, nor in the manga thus far, and not in the Databooks, so where this conception of her coming from a civilian clan even came from?
Second, the Haruno clan is not particularly prestigious, yet Sakura possessed an advantage not even the “clan heirs” had: Tsunade’s endorsement, the Hokage herself. She and Naruto were taught by Sannin -something no one else, “privileged” or not, can say for themselves (and yes, Sasuke was Orochimaru’s pupil as well, but Orochimaru’s reasoning was because he will later on possess Sasuke’s body -so he was technically preparing his vessel, rather than passing on his knowledge).
Tumblr media
[Top right entrance]
Third, Sakura is naturally good at chakra control, she trained an already latent ability of hers -that is not to say she doesn’t deserve recognition, but isn’t that on the same level as Sasuke developing his own doujutsu or Naruto taking advantage of Kurama? How is this exactly different? She was able to use Tsunade’s techniques because she was already gifted when it came to control her own chakra, unlike Shizune -and again, this is not to diminish her merits, but she’s compared with characters like Lee who was canonically awful at Taijutsu and trained so hard he became an expert.
It’s true that Naruto came from a prestigious clan, since Minato Namikaze was the Hokage, but there's at least two things to point out at this:
Naruto, at any point, was able to grow up with that privilege nor the knowledge of his own identity, to think that being the Fourth’s son was a privilege in itself is to be too naive: he became the jinchuuriki because Minato chose to sacrifice his own son, and he was shunned away for this same reason. It’s true that Naruto has Kurama’s help which gives him an immense advantage, but he had to train to be something else besides a ticking bomb. How come his efforts are diminished only to uplift Sakura’s whose training -might I remind you-, didn’t put her life in danger?
It was because he was Namikaze that he grew up as an orphan and was lied to during his whole life -in that sense, Naruto had to take care of himself from a very young age, which probably influenced his [poor] academic development, something Sakura didn’t have to worry about. Furthermore, there’s no mention of the Namikaze clan being important before Minato, meaning, it was his father who put the family name in a higher status (similarly to the Hatake clan, whose raise and fall were on Sakumo's shoulders). The relevance of a clan changes constantly, even the Senju were wiped out of the map, Tsunade being the last descendant.
About Sasuke:
I'd like to ask what is the actual privilege of being an Uchiha inside Konoha's borders. If they're referring to the Sharingan, then it’s something other members of the clan possessed (and other non-members, like Kakashi, aswell). Let’s remember that all of them (including children) were massacred in the name of peace just because they possessed the Uchiha last name.
Doujutsus are not exactly different from being naturally good at something, like Sakura’s case with chakra control -both Sasuke and Neji had to train in order to develop their kekkei genkai further and complement them with good techniques. It’s mentioned in the Databooks that Hinata has a Byakugan that could rival Neji’s, yet we never see her coming even close to his skills.
Similarly, we have Kabuto -an orphan who was taught by his adoptive father medical ninjutsu and who was able (might I dare say) to surpass Tsunade in that field -without her being his mentor and without using her techniques, but creating his own. Kabuto is simply incredible when it comes to medical ninjutsu, which is why Orochimaru became interested in him -but, for some reason, his abilities are quickly forgotten and fans just remember both Tsunade and Sakura as the only powerful medic-nins.
Are Sakura’s abilities to be diminished? No. The three of them (Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura) took advantage of their natural skills, yet, both Naruto and Sasuke easily surpass her as ninja for this simple fact: Sakura copy-pasted Tsunade’s techniques, while both Naruto and Sasuke learned and developed further the jutsus they were taught.

Rishi's Time Travel Fic Recs
im bored and my meta type thinking only ever comes right when im about to fall asleep so instead I'm going to recommend some of the best time travel fics out there for series I like because I'm a sucker for fix-its
I'm only gonna confine myself to 6 fics per fandom at most (3 completed & 3 ongoing) no time loops because I personally dont see that as time travel each fic has to be over 10k words and im not going to put doormat fics that haven't been updated in the past year on this list either
anyways buckle up it's gonna be a long ride boys
Naruto -
Complete
Sasuke's No Good Very Bad Teammates by GwendolynStacy
Info : gen, 74k words, author's tumblr @xxgwenstacyxx
Summary :
Naruto and Sakura have gone insane.
Or : Just after becoming Team 7 Naruto and Sakura go through a massive shift in personality, leaving Sasuke out of the loop and wondering what in the name of sanity could have happened to them. His only consolation is that Kakashi is just as weirded out as he is.
Thoughts : I'm usually not a fan of outsider POV time travel fics but this one is so good we as readers have a pretty good idea what's going on and it's extremely hilarious to see Sasuke be like wtf is going on just an overall very well written fic that will definitely give you giggles
Stumble by writer168
Info : gen, 285k words, rape/non-con warning
Summary :
Sakura wanted to die.
Sasori was fine with staying dead.
But it seemed fate had other plans for them, because when they both wake up younger with blood pulsing through their veins, they had to remember how to live again.
Thoughts: While not the darkest Time Travel fic I've read from Naruto, it's definitely up there and it's a rare sasori and sakura team up that doesn't end with romance for anyone who has a lot of time on their hands and doesnt mind reading graphic rape this fic is a must read
Mangekyou Sharingan by Wingwyrm
Info : gen, 60k words, rape/non-con warning
Summary :
Sasuke wanted to be able to use Tsukuyomi. He didn't realise how bad pretending to get the Mangekyō would affect the members of his family.
Thoughts : while it has another fic called Team Tensai tied to it, it's not needed to understand and enjoy this masterpiece even though it was written before canon ended causing certain things to get jossed the underlying darkness of this fic is something I have yet to see anyone replicate
Ongoing
Life as a Nukenin by JKblue
info : gen, 35k words
summary :
Kakashi wakes up in an alternate dimension .....shenanigans ensue
Thoughts : a lighthearted kakashi centric time travel fic where he's as confused as we are, it's amazing to see the author's growth in writing as time goes on and kakashi just going fuck it time to adopt every single child I find no idea why I'm a nukenin tho lmao

Thoughts : while the fic is nearly done TECHNICALLY it's still ongoing so cut me some slack Kakashi having to choose between what is morally right and what would keep his future safe is amazing and team Minato cares so much about Kakashi here it's too cute

Haruno Sakura made a promise. Looking in the eyes of her Shisou and the reanimated Hokage, she took on the most important mission of her life.
Go back in time and try to prevent the 4th Shinobi War.
Now, Sakura is back to her 5-year-old body, with all the knowledge and haunting memories of the future. She vows to keep her precious people safe and stop certain events from happening, without altering the timeline too much. The trials her emotions and logic puts her through have her questioning her very existance, but for the sake of peace she has to push forward. No matter what.
Thoughts: I hang onto this fic every week like a vulture, Sakura isn't out of character, she doesn't seem like a self insert and she's got such a strong bond with so many characters the story is multilayered and you genuinely feel like sakura's doing justice I hope to write a time travel fic like this some day

He couldn’t turn around to look, couldn’t see anything beyond what very clearly, very obviously wasn’t there.

Uchiha Week 2023 - Our Intention + Rules
from the 17th to the 23rd of July
Tumblr media
Our intention for this event is to put some light on the Uchiha clan and celebrate all its members. The Uchihas are not only a shinobi clan but also a group of families, and like in any family gathering there is always the popular one, the prettiest one, the black sheep, the weird one, the problematic one, the one that no one remember the name, and so on and so forth...
We, as a fandom, act kind of the same way towards each other. Yet, this summer we wish to reunite the whole Uchiha fandom under the same positive task of creating more contents for our blorbo and why not creating also more content for some Uchiha that you usually don't pay much attention. Let's bring everyone together and celebrate what set them aside as the most popular and powerful clan of the Narutoverse.
Full Prompt HERE
!! RULES !!
1. Use the hashtag #uchihaweek2023 or #uchihaweek
2. At least one Uchiha-born needs to be the focus of your art :
-Main Uchihas : Sasuke, Madara, Itachi, Obito, Fugaku, Mikoto, Izuna, Tajima, Izumi, Shisui, Naori, Kagami, Sarada, Indra (yeah… technically not an Uchiha but he fathered them all!)
-Minor Uchihas : Inabi, Tekka, Uruchi, Teyaki, Yashiro, three unknown Madara’s brothers, Madara's mum.
3. Loose interpretation, and/or NSFW version of each prompt is allowed except inc*st and paedo***.
NB: inc*st concerns family relationship : parent/children, grandparent/grandchildren, sibling/sibling, first cousin/first cousin.

Okay odd question but: Do Sasuke and Sakura give you divorced couple vibes, too?
I’ve just started to watch Boruto since I’ve caught up with the manga recently, and SS gives me MASSIVE divorced couple that are forced to interact purely to co-parent their kid; only, Sakura still can’t accept that they’re divorced, so their interactions are disgusting sad. Like...Does Sasuke even sleep/stay in the apartment Sakura and their daughter live in? In the manga and anime, I believe we only see Sasuke in the house to eat, and maybe talk to Sakura about their daughter.
Idk if it’s just me, but that’s how typical divorced families tend to work. Like, we at least see Naruto sleep in his house (maybe not in a bed that looks like it might be shared by a Husband and Wife, but that’s a different discussion for another day) and act like he lives there, or at least feels comfortable enough to treat the environment as one he feels welcomed in. Sasuke walks into his apparent house and acts like a guest - like someone who needs permission. And he is somewhat treated as a guest as Sakura has to constantly ask if he’s coming over for dinner, thus giving him an invitation or “permission” to enter his own house, or directly asks him to come over due to the bequest of their daughter. This may be due to him leaving the village and his oh-so happy family for 12 years and not knowing how to interact with them or a family environment in general (even though, when it comes to Naruto’s kids, he seems to easily fall into a parental role and loses all tells of awkwardness) but still. Some could argue that due to Sasuke’s occupation, it would be a normal thing to ask your husband if he’s going to be able to make it home for dinner. But that isn’t the tone the scene between Sakura and Sasuke sets up when they interact.
Side part: (But even so, the respective writers of the manga and anime could easily add small details into each media that Sasuke’s making some effort to feel at home again. But the very few interactions Sasuke has with his “wife” and their “house” seems so...lifeless and dutifully in the sense that they’re (mainly Sasuke) putting in the basic effort for their daughter’s sake.)
Besides, since his “missions” tend to be information gathering and assessing of threats to the village for Naruto, thus, why he’s always on the road. Why would Sasuke need to work when in the village? Why wouldn’t he be with his “wife” and child when technically “off” work? If he had a meeting with Naruto, the Hokage, to further discussion his findings on said missions, that would be fair and reasonable as to why Sakura feels the need to ask him about dinner. But not once did either Naruto or Sasuke ever establish a reason to meet (even though Sasuke eventually finds himself in Naruto office to talk and bicker about trivial things 👀). So, if your apparent hubby wasn’t on leave or working for the hokage, why would you need to specifically ask him to dinner? Due to your “marriage”, wouldn’t it be assumed that he would attend a family dinner?
It’s not like Sasuke has a clan or any living family members to run off to. Technically, if excluding Naruto, Sakura and their house is the only place Sasuke has to turn to when in the village...
Idk about you, but that screams divorced parent struggles to me 🤷‍♀️
Woaahhhh!!!! Anon.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Reading your ask was really funny and I cackled a good 5 minutes. 😂😂😂😂
I don't feel divorce vibes from Sakura's side, anon. She will never do that considering her toxic obsession🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
But, I have to tell you that I never watched Boruto anime apart from Gaiden arc and Time travel arc. So, the scenes you are talking about, I assume they are anime only???
Because in the Manga, they never had any conversations yet. Apart from Naruto Gaiden. So the dinner scene you are talking about, is the anime only scene i assume.
Since, I never watched those episodes, I really can't comment about it.
Why don't you pinpoint the specific episodes in which they make conversation, and send me another ask, anon?? Because I don't have a heart to watch that nonsensical series that has 200 episodes in which 77% of them are fillers. 😏😏😏
From what I saw, I feel like Sasuke is feeling guilty about Sakura for whatever reasons. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Why feeling guilty after 12 years of marriage???
Maybe after watching the episodes you mentioned, I can form an opinion.👍🏼👍🏼

Shisui didn’t bother to acknowledge the guards as he strode into the estate. Even if the guardsmen hadn’t been able to recognize him on sight, they would have immediately noticed the scent of Itachi’s mark on him. No one would dare to question the one hand selected by the family heir about his presence or intentions.
As dusk approached, the compound beyond the gates was just beginning to stir. Kushina, chosen of Lady Mikoto, was in the garden with her boisterous golden-haired son while Minato, chosen of Fugaku, instructed several of the newest guardsmen in their duties before the sun set and the family within the manor emerged. Shisui offered them both a smile as he passed.
Shisui was surprised as he entered the main house to find that Sasuke was already about, lounging in the far corner of the sitting room with his pink haired doll curled up and sleeping peacefully in his lap while he carded his fingers through her hair. By the pink tinge to Sasuke’s cheeks and the satisfied look in his eyes, Shisui was certain that the youngest member of the family had already fed.
Sasuke glanced up at Shisui as his movement disturbed the silent stillness of the room. His gaze quickly changed from contentment, to irritation, to flickering anger that would have made anyone but Shisui shrink back in fear.
“You’re late.” Sasuke spat, although he kept his voice low so as not to wake the girl nestled against him. Despite knowing that no member of the family could ever harm him while he held Itachi’s favor, Shisui couldn’t help but reach down to where he usually kept his kunai. There was nothing there, it was forbidden for anyone to enter the compound with a weapon, but under the powerful glare that Sasuke leveled at him, the instinct was nearly impossible to fight. It struck Shisui how despite being the youngest member of the family, Sasuke already had an impressive mastery of their powers.
“I ran into complications.” Shisui kept his voice impassive. Although his position technically put him in service of the entire family, everyone knew that he would defer only to the heir. To his prince. Sasuke’s eyes narrowed further, his lip curling up into a slight snarl at Shisui’s disrespect.
“He’s been refusing to feed since you left. Last night he didn’t rise at all. You’re lucky your complications didn’t keep you any longer or my father would have been forced to intervene.”
Shisui’s stomach clenched. Hasn’t fed since you left. That was nearly three weeks ago. Shisui had told Itachi that he would have to be gone for some time. Damned fool. Shisui turned on his heel and quickly began making his way down the familiar corridor towards Itachi’s chambers. Damned fool.
The door to Itachi’s chambers was nondescript, save for the raven symbol etched in just to the left of the frame. Shisui pricked a finger on a small needle he kept tucked carefully into the hem of his robe, then reached out and clutched the handle, feeling a spark of electric energy jump into his hand and travel through him before returning to the handle, his blood acting as a key to allow him entrance into the chamber.
Once inside, Shisui had to allow himself a moment for his eyes to adjust to the deep darkness of the room. Thick curtains shut out any light from the outside world. No torches flickered, as the family heir had no need of them
Once Shisui could make out the shapes of the furniture around him, he made his way towards what he knew to be the prince’s bed. When he had first been brought to the chamber, there had only been a long stone box...a coffin...but Itachi had seen to it that a bed was brought in for Shisui’s comfort. And once Itachi had laid his claim, he had abandoned his coffin to share the bed with Shisui.
Sure enough, as Shisui approached and his eyes grew more used to the darkness, he could make out the still form, alabaster skin kissed by death. Shisui frowned, as he noted the was Itachi’s cheeks had sunken in, how there was a dark shadow beneath his eyes and his skin looked thinner, as fragile as paper.
Lieth as a cat, Shisui climbed into the bed. Itachi didn't so much as stir, even as Shisui climbed over to straddle him. Shisui bit his lip, hard enough to break the skin and draw blood and he leaned down, gently capturing the hair's own lips in a kiss.
Red eyes fluttered open. A steely grasp captured Shisui by the back of his neck, holding him in place as Itachi's tongue flicked out, licking the blood from Shisui's lips. Shisui could feel the blossoming of hunger and desire from the heir.
"Welcome home, precious." Itachi purred, voice as smooth as silk. Any plans that Shisui had of scolding Itachi for neglecting himself vanished at the sound of that voice. Certainly Shisui would have to address that before he could leave again, he couldn't accept the idea of Itachi suffering because of the loyalty he felt toward Shisui. Perhaps he would talk to Sasuke's doll and see if she could show him how to save his blood in vials for when he had to be away from the prince. But in this moment, all that mattered to Shisui was that wonderful silken voice and those blazing red eyes.
"I'm sorry I'm late." Shisui murmured, leaning his head down to press his forehead against Itachi's cold, porcelain skin. Itachi released Shisui's neck and instead snaked his arms around Shisui's waist.
"Don't apologize my love. You returned. That's all that matters." Itachi nuzzled against Shisui. They remained like that until Shisui felt Itachi start to squirm underneath him, his hunger becoming more than Itachi could stand. Shisui shifted off of Itachi to lay beside him, cocking his head to the side to offer the smooth skin of his neck. Itachi licked the crevice over Shisui's collarbone, sending a shiver of pleasure down Shisui's spine. He waited a moment for the anesthetic in his saliva to take effect while letting his hands explore, igniting a fire across Shisui's skin that made him whimper and moan.
"Please," Shisui begged, his need growing to match Itachi's hunger. With how long it had been, Shisui knew Itachi would be rougher than normal and he was eager to be able to see Itachi's marks all over him.
Itachi pressed his lips against Shisui's neck, his posture becoming more predatory as he savored the heat coming off of Shisui's skin and the pulsing of his jugular vein just beneath the skin.
Then Shisui felt the pinprick of Itachi's fangs sinking down into his skin and his world exploded with ecstasy.

Chapter 11 - Student Council President Sakura / Graduation Chapter
SCPS AO3 | PREVIOUS CHAPTER
Youtube playlist for your reading accompaniment
They held a run-through of the graduation ceremony on the last day of class and technically the last day of the trio’s high school life. Unlike their first general assembly, Uchiha Sasuke was to deliver the graduation speech but not without great sulking from Haruno Sakura who landed a close second despite ranking first in their final exams.
And obviously, not without Sasuke trying to give up his speech privileges by campaigning instead for Sakura.
In the end, all three of them were granted speech slots – one for Sasuke as valedictorian, Sakura as student representative, and Naruto as the school’s first national MVP. It was this debacle that led the three of them to brainstorm in an empty AVR after the dry run.
“Done!” Sakura yelled like the diligent student she was. “Let me look at yours!”
Sasuke presented her a blank paper while saying, “It’s all prepared in my head”, and Naruto showed her his baseball doodles.
“Oh God, you’re all so hopeless.”
Then the electricity suddenly got cut off in the AVR. Sakura expected the boys to screech in surprise and cling to each other, but she only heard silence in the dark. She jumped in her seat when the doors opened with a loud bang, a confetti splash, and the lights coming back to life.
Sasuke and Naruto were still in front of her, holding two bouquets of irises and yellow roses. Behind them were the old and new student council members with other students holding a large banner saying Thank you, Student Council President Sakura!
She started to leave her seat to come to them, but they gestured for her to stay on her seat. In front of the room, the large monitor beeped and showed a compilation of videos.
Sukehiro Aoi, an alumni and currently an intern in an animation studio. “Hello, Ms. Pres. You once asked the body to submit a publication material for an event of the student council, and I sent mine through a dummy email with no expectations of winning. I wasn’t comfortable with the public seeing my art. I was afraid of the unsolicited remarks so sending it anonymously gave me some relief. You chose it however, and you knew how big a credit was to an artist. I was really scared when you were able to hunt me down just by my watermark, but my name in the info blast caught the attention of a school board member and referred me to this animation studio. It was the littlest thing, but you handed me my dream.”
Watanabe Kota was a year below them. He has a small frame, round thick glasses, and battled with face acne. “Ms. Pres! People never had much confidence in my physical appearance, so I don’t know what you saw in me when you asked me to take over the school radio. But here we are – we’re airing daily and we even produce documentaries and radio programs. Thank you for seeing what I didn’t.”
Ito Amanaya, a typical jock in the football team, muscular and came across as intimidating, but he had the gentlest cadence. “I was bullied by the same group that bullied your dynamic duo. When you ran them off, you also saved my life. Thank you, Haruno.”
Kimura Shinze, a classmate in third year, beautiful, popular, and the captain of the cheering squad. “Hope you’re having a great day, Ms. Pres. Remember that time when the class was guessing who were our crushes and I blurted out that it was a girl, you told me thank you for telling us. That was…a big deal to me. Thank you for that gesture.”
Himurata Aoi, president of the koto club. “Sakura, I know you had many people come up and confessed to you so when I did try, I was glad that you didn’t give me a bullshit reason like you’re not into girls. You turned me down because you have someone you already love. I am thankful for your honesty.”
The biology teacher, Takahashi Kande. “Student council, thank you for your mental health program. As a single father to twins, I don’t have the luxury of time to sit in a couch and sort out my issues. To be able to do that in my workplace during breaks is a heaven-sent gift. You saved me and my family. Thank you.”
Many more messages came on, from a classmate she lent spare change to, from a staff she helped clean, from countless students who she wasn’t aware she gave kindness to.
“Why….” She asked breathlessly.
“You’ve been beating yourself lately. We thought you needed some reminding,” Sasuke muttered, under his breath, the bouquet still in his hands. “You left some pretty big footprints, Ms. Pres.
“You might not have noticed,” Naruto jested. “But this is always innate and natural to you, isn’t it?”
“Why did you bother so much?” She was reduced to tears.
“It was Naruto’s idea.”
“Huh? You did all the compiling though!”
“Shut up, it was me,” yelled the current president.
“Thank you, everyone.”
--------------------------------
It was a weekend, but Sasuke requested Sakura and Naruto to meet him at the school gates. He only gave the time and place, and he knew well enough that they would be there – no questions asked.
They stood there, minutes earlier than planned, a first but nothing more unusual than homebody Sasuke asking them to go out on a weekend. Sakura wore an oversized rust shirt over a pair of muted cotton blue trousers tied with a brown leather belt and tan fisherman sandals, her long hair kept in one single braid at the back. Naruto probably expected a fancy lunch with his outfit – black silky long sleeves over gray pants and black loafers.
Sasuke, high on impulsive decisions, wore bright colors, a complete departure from his usual neutrals; mustard vest over a deep violet polo, baggy pants, off white converse, and a white fanny pack. “Well, we’re mostly dressed for comfort, except for that idiot beside you.”
“What do you mean dressed for comfort? I borrowed these loafers from my vice-captain and my feet aren’t used to them,” Naruto whined. “Besides, aren’t you taking us out to a five-star meal, Mr. Valedictorian?”
“Wow, what a way to show off.” Sakura pursed her lips in annoyance. “Don’t worry Naruto, I got your next café order.”
“Ah no. It was just something we heard from the grape vine.” Naruto scratched his head and carefully glanced at Sasuke. “Grumpy got his trust fund today.”
In bated breaths, they waited for him to respond with a scowl or a retort, but he just nodded. “Come on, we’ll miss the train.”
They traveled for three stations and disembarked on the fourth, Sasuke sandwiched in between the two, his shoulders pillows again to their heads and yet such burdens were light as cotton. The surfacing emotions since last week were taking hold of him, but he needed to pull through somehow because breaking down while commuting was one thing he did not really see doing.
“Word just got in. The house was turned over this morning,” Itachi told him over the phone.
“Impeccable timing when I’m also moving abroad next week.” Sasuke pulled out his Bleachers vinyl and anticipated another lonesome lull for the night.
“Do you miss the cream puffs?”
“Nothing comes close.”
“Hmm. I’ll pay for the rental fee of your car.”
In Itachi’s defense, while he was an afficionado of escapism, he also knew how to read between the lines. “Watch me get a Mercedes-Benz.”
“I have a good driving playlist.” This only meant math rock, and Sasuke wanted something to scream his lungs too.
“Don’t need one.”
“Treat your friends to dinner, okay? Gotta go.”
“We’re walking?!” Naruto almost limped out of the train. Sasuke took one look at his heels and saw that they were bruised red. He took off his converse and socks and gave them to him.
Sakura whipped out a small first-aid kit and covered the rash on Naruto’s heels. “Hey don’t look at me like that. Brought it just in case we’re going on a day survival tour. A camping would be nice too.”
“Did you scrub your feet, idiot?”
“You think so low of me grumpy. Of course – last week!”
With Naruto now comfortable, the three resumed walking on the unfamiliar residential area. Sasuke gestured for them to enter a bamboo forest on the far side of the main road. Hidden in the shadows of the clumped stalks were a small opening, the growth hampered and ground rid of grasses and weeds; many people have also chosen this shortcut, walked through the forest, did a little nature bathing, and emerged behind the bakery, still there, still standing, still operating.
Sasuke tapped on the large glass window cum counter on the front and bought three sets of cream puffs.
“Oh, it’s you,” the old baker greeted. “You brought your friends over? You always buy one set.”
Sasuke offered her a smile, briefly glancing to his periphery where Sakura was fussing with Naruto’s feet, and nodded as he accepted the paper bag. “It’s on the house, kid.”
“You brought us to stalk someone’s house?” Sakura dug in one paper bag, bit the puff in one bite, and with full mouth, she sighed. “This is heaven.”
“It’s our old family house, before the accident that is.” Sasuke also took out one puff and munched on it, ruminating on the sight before him, a two-story house with an imposing façade, his mom’s climbing hydrangea gone and cut by the new owners, beds of roses and daisies already withered, but the wisteria tree on the vacant lot beside continued to grow and shade what he supposed were the children’s rooms. It was in his third bite that he saw the tomato fruits he planted, alive and full with harvest. “Do you think my parents know?”
Naruto slid an arm across his shoulder and grinned sheepishly. “Then they would be happy ghosts or maybe they would voluntarily move away to give the new owners the opportunity to make it a happy a home like yours.
“What part are you gonna miss?” Sakura asked, halfway through her set of puffs.
“The sight of the wisteria before I sleep and after I wake up, and the sunlight in my parents’ room. My dad liked to make these suncatchers for my mom. The play of light was a good morning greeting, she said.”
“What’s your funniest memory?” Naruto sat on the grass, uncaring for the stains that would taint his good pair of pants.
“It was probably Christmas when I was seven, and Itachi had this big idea to bake a cake, but he swapped the sugar for the salt and we were wondering why it wouldn’t make a custard. Our parents still ate it, saying it was a very salty version of dark chocolate cake.”
“It was a good home,” Sakura patted the space between her and Naruto and Sasuke sat down cross-legged too, dipping his hand on the paper bag with the last cream puff.
“It was a good home,” Sasuke agreed as he bit into the last vestige of his family memory. He was suckling the powdered sugar off his fingers when he realized he was already crying, and the two were downright sobbing on his either side.
Such an embarrassing sight to see; he wondered what would the new owners feel if they looked out their windows this instant and saw three teenagers breaking down on the road across. It was honestly stupid and laughable to a point, considering how funny it was for grief to become lighter when someone else cried with him.
Naruto was sniffling so much that he had to offer his handkerchief to him. “I forgot to tell you guys. Hinata confessed to me during the cultural festival.”
“Oh my god. What did you say?” Sakura took a tissue out of her bag and dabbed her eyes. She flashed an apologetic look to Sasuke who already offered his hanky to Naruto’s fluids.
“Ah, what else? I had to reject her.” Naruto sneezed on Sasuke’s handkerchief again. “I told her I was in love with someone else.” He slyly glanced at his raven-haired friend and pursed his lips which Sakura quickly caught.
“Who is it?”
“Sasuke also likes someone.”
“Shut your mouth, blondie. Point is already moot. Besides, we’ve already been rejected.”
“Who are these people and why don’t I know them?” Sakura genuinely looked offended. “I could have vetted them!”
“Exactly why it was fortunate you didn’t meet them,” Sasuke said as an excuse though he pegged Sakura for not being that naïve. She, thankfully, let it go and gathered their trash. She dropped the bomb as she was brushing the grass blades from her trousers. “My parents are divorcing. Such a travesty not to have them show up on graduation day, and I thought I did a great job.”
The two, ever so sure, held onto her hands in case she was trembling again.
“Let’s get that five-star dinner,” Sasuke suggested, “and we need to rent a Mercedes-Benz.”
--------------------------------
Graduation Day
“Let’s welcome to the stage, class valedictorian, Uchiha Sasuke.” Kakashi was the officiating faculty today so she expected difficulty going through the event, but for some reason, he slipped into her mental back burner, no longer taking up room in her active consciousness. That was a good step, she smiled to herself. Her smile became wider as Sasuke got up the stage.
His fans club’s cheers were heard outside the auditorium, and the graduating class chuckled at the quick interruption. He cleared his throat and started his piece.
“Please get it on record that I was coerced to do this speech. Then again, I also had a hand on the turn of events that led me here today, in front of you. And it’s a little too on the nose, but I came to high school with a clear set of goals – have high grades and lead an uninteresting life. I accomplished the first one rather easily, and it’s a good metric for the future that’s upon us right now. Good grades land us good colleges. Good colleges land us good jobs. Good jobs land us good life.
But it’s not the sole benchmark as I have learned lately. You see, my second goal really missed the mark. Good life can also mean good friends, fun experiences, a caring environment, a complete family. If you ticked off each one, then that’s very notable. You have the four-leaf clover, and it’s a rare blessing. I only ticked off three, but that goes without any regret. If you only have one silver lining in your high school memory, then that makes us all the more human. And if there’s none, there is still is still a whole stretch of possibilities we can discover to find one. Thank you for your kind attention.”
Sakura was pretty sure she heard several sniffles across the student body. “The bastard delivered a good speech,” she muttered to herself.
“We would like to welcome our first national MVP, Uzumaki Naruto.”
Outside, the school band played the cheering anthem for his last national games. The cheerleaders also did a routine in tribute to him. That made him well up when he got to the podium.
“Wait oh my god, I’m tearing up so much.”
Sasuke grunted loudly and went back the stage to hand him a handkerchief which Naruto quickly used to wipe his snot.
“Thanks Sasuke. How can Kakashi-sensei let me follow after that rousing speech, and before Sakura too. It’s kinda evil.”
Laughter broke out.
“Well, this one’s a bare minimum. I didn’t have any goals or expectations, unlike genius grumpy over there. I just wanted to live my life like an ordinary boy. Someone said that how you spend your day is how you live your life so I did just that – ate ramen, slept in class because I am a growing kid, and played each arcade game until I won them. I also believe in serendipitous – thanks Sakura for this word, for the spelling and meaning – serendipitous coincidences. I just pitched and batted for former captain Haru one afternoon and now we landed in the national finals. I had loneliness for a friend, but now I’ve got all of you. And you know what else, the magic of working together. We wouldn’t have stepped foot in the nationals if it weren’t for your collective help. When we work towards a common goal, that also gives us common happiness, right? It’s infectious, a bouncing energy that gets thrown around and still makes it one piece. So wherever you will be after this, believe it!”
When Kakashi called her name next, she thought she was deaf, the noise around her collapsed in muted decibels. It took a minute before her fellow classmates shook her and motioned for her to quickly come up the stairs. Her silver-haired teacher looked so concerned in the shadows, but for what it was worth, she was civil and calm enough (at least in the matters concerning him) to nod at him in quiet exchange of assurance.
It was because she saw both of her parents at the side with a bouquet of roses. She struggled with the paper she brought with her although she had it memorized in her head; she even went through it flawlessly for three times last night. Tears blurred the words and the mere shock of the sight of their togetherness disabled her mental function to string coherent thoughts. She also started hyperventilating, her breaths coming faster than what her lungs could pump.
Then she felt Kakashi’s hand on her shoulder, a steady presence, and it reeled her back to reality. He tapped the mic and the feedback echoed. “Ah, Ms. Haruno had some technical issues. Again, let’s welcome former student council president, Sakura.”
Sasuke and Naruto in the front were almost standing, but she flashed them a smile as if to say she was okay now. “Hello, good day to our honorable guests and graduates. I think it’s safe to say that Sasuke and Naruto provided really good words of advice. So I have nothing more to offer, but to share my gratitude. Everyone was saying the student council did a good job in its programs, but it was actually the lot of you who made this possible – from your activity suggestions to participation and feedback. After all, you were the makers of your memories.
Earlier last week, my councilmates and friends reminded me how small actions go a long way – a smile, a wave across the hallway, a short exchange of good morning and see you soon, and I thought, aren’t we all just an accumulation of these small, little things? As such, it was what you think your insignificant moments were that pushed us to deliver you the best. It was the passing comment, the top-of-your-head tips, the interlude stories we hear during lunch breaks that allowed us to give you grand gestures and memories we hoped were worth keeping. And if we could start to use that perspective as well in our lives then maybe the uncertainties of a future wouldn’t be so heavy on us. We will face tomorrow with a lightness in being.
In behalf of the student council, thank you for allowing us to serve you.”
She bowed at a level where her torso was almost aligned at her hips, and she was confused with the lack of reaction. Sakura sighed, mulling over the deficiencies in her speech, but she straightened her back to a sight of a standing ovation and a thundering applause.
Then, she let her tears fall.
--------------------------------
“Why would you let Kakashi-sensei take the pic?” Sakura hissed at them.
“Just this one time, Sakura!” Naruto grinned.
“Sakura, you’re out of the frame,” Kakashi remarked. “Okay good. Say cheese.”
In spite of her recent heartbreak with him, she permitted herself to bask in fleeting cordiality. “Cheese.”
“Grumpyyyyyy.”
“Idiot blondie.”
Kakashi took three more shots and handed the camera to the trio. He almost turned away when Sakura caught his sleeve.
“Just one more,” she said. “With you.”
Sakura shifted to the front, almost kneeling with the camera angled for a selfie, her two friends beside her looking equally annoyed as the other, and Kakashi behind them, his hands on either head, smiling with his deceptively charming beauty mark.
It was the last picture of their high school life.
--------------------------------
The three were rushing through the airport crowd fifteen minutes before the immigration closes gates.
“Here!” Sakura slid a folder on the large pocket on Sasuke’s bag. “It includes your passport, your flight details, your valid IDs, your itinerary, and letters from us! Don’t forget our Friday video calls!”
“I can’t see. These tears are bullies,” Naruto said through tears. He was continuously wiping his eyes with his sleeve.
“And If I don’t get on my flight because you made us eat ramen for one last time and the orders took too long, I’m gonna have you cursed by a witch and a shaman!” Sasuke growled. The guards were starting to close the gates when a sobbing Naruto sprinted and basically tackled the guards on the floor.
“Sasuke come on, hurry up!”
“Drink your vitamins! And if you miss cream puffs, I’ll teach you how to make them.” Sakura was trying hard to keep pace with Sasuke’s brisk walking, but she ended up breathless anyway.
The three of them finally reached the immigration entrance, and Naruto was profusely apologizing to the guards for the interruption. Sasuke showed his documents, wheezing as they looked at it. They gave him a thumbs up and opened the gates.
The two were already slumped at the floor, waving without words, and exhausted from the clock race. Sasuke was almost through when he remembered something he forgot. He muttered a quick sorry, ran through the opening, and hugged his two friends.
“I’ll miss you.”

HIIIII!! I really realllly love reading your tags on your retweets! It's one of my favorite things to see while scrolling down my TL. I was wondering if you have any of your fave TEAM 7 gen fics you could recommend? 💖💕 preferably no ships and just something that focuses on their dynamic and growing solidarity with each other!
HELLO! thank you so much omfg 💖 i’m so so sorry it took me so long to respond, i had the answer all drafted out and ready to go and then my dumb ass CLOSED THE TAB and i lost everything 😭 i had to rewrite the post which took a while FJDFSJ but it’s here now!! i really hope these are fics you haven’t seen/read before (omfg could you imagine if you’ve read every fic on this list i’d feel so bad 😭) but yeah!! i hope this helps!! 💖
(also side note, your icon is SO cute, i always see it in my notifs but i never got the chance to tell you until now LOLOL)
MULTI-CHAPTER
komorebi by tomorrowsrain ─ okay, i know you said preferably no ships (we’re already off to a rocky start FDJFKSJ) but this is literally my favorite team 7 fic ever, it’s impossible for me not to include it. it’s kakaobi, and team 7 doesn’t come in until ch. 3 of the first part, but i highly HIGHLY recommend it. seriously, this is my absolute favorite characterization of the members of team 7 & their dynamic, the author does such a good job of building their relationship from teammates to family. i will say the first chapter is a little disorienting (it’s in first person POV, which i usually tend to avoid when it comes to fanfiction, but the author does it so well and it does shift straight back to third person POV for the rest of the chapters). the author is currently writing the chuunin exams arc and it’s literally everything i wanted.
tides by edenfalling ─ omg, this was one of the first team 7 fics i ever read waaay back on ff.net when i was like, 12 years old. unlike most of the fics on this list, this is set in shippuden, but it’s very much AU/canon-divergent. good character dynamics with team 7 learning how to work together again<3
how to make a team by Pleasedial123 ─ basically, kakashi gets his head out of his ass and actually invests time into strengthening the bonds between the members of team 7. don’t get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE canon!kakashi & i know he did his best (he was traumatized + not ready to be a teacher, i get it)... plus, if he was a good teacher in canon, there literally wouldn’t have been a plot. basically this is me saying fuck kishimoto because LOOK at what we could’ve had!!
and so, the sensei supports his students by ihopethelightwillshineupon ─ this is really more kakashi-centric and it focuses more on his relationship with each of his students than on the dynamic between naruto, sasuke, and sakura (but kakashi is technically part of team 7 so it still counts!!)
ONE-SHOTS
for warmth by magnificentbirb ─ a scene i wish we would’ve gotten in canon.... like you’re telling me there are literally HOURS of filler episodes and we couldn’t get ONE soft, genin team 7 moment?? kishimoto & studio pierrot, you’ll be hearing from my lawyers.
believing in heroes by guycecil ─ another moment i wish we got in canon because like... can we talk about how, in their genin days, these kids are 12 years old. are you fucking kidding me. also, now that i’m skimming over the fic, this may be more sakura-centric than team 7 centric, but i’d still highly recommend!
the pretty one by theformerone ─ it’s tagged as ot3, but i promise there are no ships! like maaaybe if you squint? but i honestly read it as platonic. one of my favorite fics ever tbh. answers the question that i’ve been thinking about since the manga was released all those years ago: what could have happened if kakashi was too late?
take the fight from the kid by theformerone ─ someone tell me why these 12 year old kids aren’t allowed to process anything on screen.... like, right after the wave arc, everything just went back to normal. like okay, yes, naruto had that moment to grieve for zabuza + haku, but i really just wanted to see a shift in the team 7 dynamics and we never really got it. so take this beautifully written fic instead!! god bless fanfiction.
pray my name by Chancy_Lurking ─ ok so this is a fic that i found today and i’m OBSESSED. i do want to warn you, since you asked for no ships: it’s not tagged as ot3, but it could be if you squint. or, you could argue that team 7 is just very affectionate/very codependent. either way, right after i finished reading it, all i wanted to do was curl up in my bed and cry (but like, in a good way).
just killing time by edenfalling ─ a very short but cute little one-shot that i also just found today! same author as tides, so if you read that first and you like their work, you should check this one out! (or vice versa)
did you inherit a sickness? did you blame god? by hotgirl ─ i literally recommend this fic to anyone and everyone because like?? it doesn’t exactly match what you’re looking for but it does have team 7 moments (heads up: it’s implied sns). this is honestly one of the best sasuke characterizations i’ve ever read. 10/10 would recommend.
of bruised brains and dog baths by sweetpotatopie ─ okay so these last three fics might not be exactly what you’re looking for but i’m adding them if/when you’re in the mood for cute, feel-good team 7 one-shots. this one is just a happy, post-canon piece where they actually get along<3
another day in paradise by ohthelinsanity ─ modern au where sakura and naruto bully sasuke, sakura and sasuke bully naruto, and kakashi is weird as shit. the friendship between naruto/sasuke/sakura that i wish i got in canon. hints of past itasaku and implied inosaku, but it’s very much a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.
gotta see! finally know! kakashi-sensei’s true face! by Lolistar92 ─ my FAVORITE face reveal fic EVER. episode 101 from naruto is the only filler that deserves rights (and maybe the curry arc because i love team gai, the ramen episode, and all the episodes with konoha 11. but mostly ep 101.)

all of team 7 in the atla au here's some of the cringe lore under the cut
naruto is the avatar and the son of the previous firelord (minato lmao). when he was a kid an assassin started killing members of the royal family so he was sent to the western air temple for his safety. he was raised there and doesn't know he's technically the crown prince
sasuke is part of one of the fire nation's noble families. the uchiha were wrongly convicted of assassinating the prev firelord so they were collectively banished and he wants to clear their names and bring his family back to its prev honor
sakura is a regular participant in earthbending tournaments across the kingdom to support her family. she wants to make her name as one of the greatest benders of all time
kakashi is a former member of the royal guard that was dismissed from duty after the war between the fire nation/earth kingdom ended. he's currently a firebending tutor and sasuke's unofficial guardian
yamato was an orphan raised by danzo (became the firelord after minato's death and is also evil) and became part of the army. he deserted the nation about a year in for the north pole after discovering he could waterbend
sai was an orphan from the war also taken in by danzo and was raised to become his heir. he's a nonbender and also a master swordsman and painter because he's talented like that

Sssh, ssh, nobody talk about Nobunaga, or else it will really start to become annoying to see his name being mentioned everywhere. That, or accidentally make him look even more like the ninja-killer everyone think he is, even though he isn’t.
I kid. It’s just that the people of Kouka eventually aligned themselves with the Oda, so Nobunaga is actually relevant to matters of the Kouka region.
The Rokkaku clan was lord of the Southern region of Oumi province, where Kouka happens to be situated in. Technically Kouka is a separate entity from Rokkaku, but they do have close relations. When Nobunaga came into conflict with the Azai-Asakura alliance, being that the Azai were lord of Northern Oumi, eventually conflict involves the Rokkaku clan. After being defeated by Shibata Katsuie, the Rokkaku effectively surrendered (on paper it’s a “peace treaty”). Later on, some of the clan members tried to rise up again, but was suppressed and the Rokkaku clan was ruined. Some of the remnants actually took refuge in Kouka, until Hideyoshi came to power and these men were called to enter his service.
Now, onto Kouka. Long-time SLBP players, or players reading Saizo’s route, might remember this region being named as “Koga” before. Koga/Kouga is what this area is classically known as in texts and in various older mainstream media, but more recent research found that the proper reading is “Koka/Kouka”, and so a lot of newer materials made the switch.
As I said, they’re a separate entity, to the point of being able to shield the Rokkaku family members and not fall into ruin alongside them. In the early days of the Sengoku, in the 1400s, many clansmen of Kouka supported the Rokkaku in battle, and their prominence rose through this connection. Possibly due to the Rokkaku’s high standing in the shogun’s court. Among these “53 Kouka clans” associated with the Rokkaku, a number of them ended up being direct shogunate vassals themselves. The people of Kouka aren’t “nobodies”. Historical research has found numerous ruins of castles in the area, and some even boasted incredibly large earthen fortifications that are much bigger than castles in the more “metropolitan” areas.
Much like its neighbour Iga, it’s believed that the people of Kouka were jizamurai who were governed by a council of clan elders. I’m not really sure who are the members of this council, though, and whether the 53 clans hold more prominence in this council or not. Funny thing, the man often believed to be “the real life Sarutobi Sasuke” was from the Mikumo family, who is in fact one of the 53. Another of the 53 clans was the Ban family, also sometimes known as the Tomou family (sometimes they’re counted among the more elite “21 clans”). They were thought to be related to the Takigawa family, where Keiji is from before his adoption into the Maeda.

My headcanon for that itachi swap is that after he came back he decided to have a fam with his alpha and libe happily ever after
Ah, this is the best take, all other endings don't count now, this one is canon! @queenondeezmatatas
So, canon Itachi goes back to his own universe, and he has a crisis. For weeks, he can't forget that life, and some of it is already out of his grasp (his clan aren't going to suddenly resurrect themselves), but technically... he could have some of it...
He has a breakdown and probably shares what happened with his alpha and they at first are like... oh that makes a lot of sense, you were acting really weird that day. Then they see a golden opportunity. They've been trying to convince Itachi to abandon his suicide plan for years, and this is an opportunity.
They comfort him... but they also bring up how he could have some of that. How they could run away and be gone before anyone could catch them. How they could build a little cottage and hunt and grow their own food far away from any wars of people that would recognise him. How they could look after his health for the first time, and maybe he'd be able to carry to term.
And Itachi is so torn, he really doesn't know what to do.
Sasuke is his biggest concern. What would he do with Sasuke? I don't think Itachi could be convinced to abandon his plan to allow Sasuke to avenge their clan and return to Konoha as a hero... but he might be convinced to fake his death.
And if you pushed and pushed and convinced him. He would go. And he'd have a few breakdowns about it, but he would. And eventually he would get better, and he would start a garden, and you two would take trips to nearby towns to pick up books and games and seeds and blankets. You build you own little wooden cabin over time, somewhere so far away from every major country in the world. So far. It takes you two months of running at shinobi speed to get there from the Akatsuki main headquarters, but you're too fast and too far gone for them to catch you.
And eventually you have an adorable cabin with a huge garden and a random collection of books and plates and things you had found around various towns and trips. And eventually, Itachi starts feeling unwell, and he finds out he's pregnant, further along than he's ever been. And then you have another member of the family. And it's rough for him sure, and he can only have one, but it's so much more than what he thought he'd get.
And he's happy.
