wyllstarion is everything to me because they both get what they need. astarion needs sincerity and romance and softness. wyll needs someone who is willing to be a MASSIVE fucking cunt on his behalf and encourage him to be more selfish.

God... how Mouse and Bad started sniffing eachother, bad asking mouse where she was from, and when she said "not around here" he said he could tell, and looked at her horns. I love it when demons demon. They smell like sulfur and their horns bump when they get near each other and theres an innate sense of familiarity in someone not quite like you and not like anyone else but you, claws that dont pierce thick skin and odd ways of expressing and experiencing love. Im always so ill about the demons..... i wish we got demon trio more often.....

Was AJ justified or not?
not justified. understandable, but not justified
the situation was a bad one. marlon Was trying to kill clem. aj was ready to do whatever he needed to to protect her. but hes a young child. either through fighting or talking marlon will stand down. the threat has been dealt with but aj doesnt realize that. marlon drops the gun and aj takes it because he still feels threatened and is ready to do what he thinks he has to to protect clem (whos life WAS on the line twice that night). he doesnt know the difference because hes never been taught the difference. all he knows is danger and survival. hes unsocialized and doesnt know what its like to be a part of a larger group. he was already biting and hitting anyone who would come up behind him reflexively because hes a traumatized little kid who doesnt know anything besides protecting himself first and asking questions later
he messed up. he thought he was helping. he wanted to protect clem. he was scared. it was a horrible mistake, but its not like marlon was completely innocent. marlon Was a threat, he just wasnt anymore when aj finally got his gun back. aj just couldnt recognize that because hes 5 years old and doesnt know any better. louis yells at clem asking her what the hell she taught him, but its more about what he Wasnt taught. he only knows survival and to eliminate threats. no room for nuance because its just been him and clem and a fight for survival for years. ericson is the kind of environment aj desperately needs, where he can be Safe, where survival isnt the only thing he needs to focus on. he needs socialization and support and patience, otherwise he will only get worse. clem knows this. its partially why shes so desperate to find a home for them. she sees what the world is doing to this little boy and so desperately does not want that for him, even if it keeps him safe
i do not like a justified aj. for me teaching him to be repentant and to know the difference between a threat like marlon and a threat like lilly is important. marlon wasnt a monster, he was a scared kid just like aj is, and they both make mistakes that cost people their lives. but lilly IS a monster, in the sense that she is a legitimate threat that cannot be reasoned with. so teaching aj that him killing marlon was wrong, but still telling him to shoot lilly, i have confidence in him that he Can tell the difference, it just needs reinforcing in the cave for him to Get It. to steer him away from that anger. hes learning when to make the hard calls. and because of that i believed him when he gave his little speech in the cave. i Did trust him. but seeing other routes and other cave speeches i can def understand why some people didnt trust him. raising aj into a person you can trust feels like the whole point to me. people will teach aj that he was justified and then hate him for his actions like YOU TAUGHT HIM THAT

thinking about pre canon andrew meeting kevin who has just lost everything he’s ever had over his abuser who asks please don’t let him take me away who says stop you’re hurting me who still believes if he asks riko will stop andrew will stop anyone will stop and i’m thinking about andrew who wants to crush him who wants to protect him who can’t believe kevin is this fragile who can’t believe he is this naive who can’t go to sleep without checking in on kevin every night but can’t keep from wanting to wring that innocence out of him like water from cloth. anyway

Trans!Hiccup later in life becoming more confident in himself and coming to terms with the fact knowing how to and doing things traditionally viewed as 'feminine' doesn't make him any less of a man my beloved.
He canonically knows how to sew. Like his attempted cover was he was 'making outfits' so why not? He definitely made his own armor, he probably makes his own clothes when he has the time. He said he wanted to he a 'bread making viking' (and yes i knoe it was a hasty lie but hear me out) so I'd like to think he knows at least how to bake and probably how to cook as well. And he enjoys these things and indulged in them when he's able to.

ive been thinking about what characters would know sign language, bc despite never being mentioned i can't imagine teyvat wouldn't have an equivalent version.
alhaitham (partially deaf/goes nonverbal) obviously and by extension kaveh (kinda hard to chew out your roommate when they cant understand you), but also collei (goes nonverbal when triggered) would have been taught by tighnari (who knows it bc its useful for communicating silently w other rangers)

I don't know how I'd ever convey this in art but. Thinking very deeply about how in boy king au, a very crucial part of characterization is that Seb is a wolf in sheep(or lamb more specifically)'s clothing and Fernando is a sheep in wolf's clothing.
Seb is very unassuming, very delicate, seemingly very vulnerable and malleable. But, deep down, he can be very ruthless. It's in the the way he hesitantly declares war, with a spark in his eye and a suppressed smirk. In the way he challenges someone to a card game or a horse race, proclaiming that he's not great, but winning every round and prancing around the room and mentioning it ad infinitum. The way he's able to instantly turn the tide in a debate in one fell swoop. By showing all his cards constantly and letting himself be vulnerable, he's making himself invulnerable. No one would ever consider him to be able to make big moves, so he wins every single time, because no one even thinks to expect it from him.
Fernando on the other hand, is constantly committed to having a looming presence and harsh reputation, but deep down, he's soft. He knows what happens to people when they're vulnerable, and he's not going to let himself be taken advantage of. The way he keeps a brave face when being informed of the marriage proposal, but goes back to his room and cries. The way he proclaims that he was always going to be the rightful ruler of Spain, but confides to Flavio that he never thought there was any real chance of it ever happening. The way he takes himself so seriously in public, but inside feels so giddy whenever he can make someone laugh. Everything to him always feels unstable and ready to crumble at any moment, and he's not willing to contribute to that by letting himself relax.
I think thats why it's very difficult for them to get along at first, because they have completely different approaches to how they carry themselves and make their way through life. Seb is confused at Fernando because he feels that he's very bland and overly serious at first, but truthfully he's not really seeing the actual Fernando. And Fernando finds Seb to be naive and easily taken advantage of, but that's because he's never seen Seb at his most cruel. Seb really loves when he eventually gets to see Fernando being vulnerable, and Fernando really admires and respects Seb when he sees him being serious. I think it just takes a while for them to show the other their full and complete selves, even the parts they can sometimes be ashamed of. There's this very compelling dichotomy in Seb laying out all his cards, but still being very difficult to read, and Fernando keeping his cards to his chest, but his intentions often being easily seen through.

PJO AU where Luke is really just THAT silly all the time, not even evil, he's just that dorky older brother who hypes up his sister to every new kid(&Kronos is still trying to channel all that towards getting him&his bros outta tartarus)
Luke who causes trouble or watches some other kid cause trouble and hightails out of there (dragging other kid behind him).
Everyone is so sick of him cheering on Annabeth, he will tell everyone she's the most powerful ever (he beats her in 9/10 bouts) (Clarisse beats her 8/10 bouts and holds such a grudge but Luke also beats Clarisse 10/10 bouts so Clarisse can't do shit)
He offers snacks to campers annoying his cabin, no one outside his cabin accepts them more than once (they're poisoned in some way, nothing deadly just uncomfortable)
Every new kid in his cabin he takes through every activity, he never gives any instructions cause how can they see what they're naturals at if they give instructions? There have been more than a few injuries cause of this but his cabin finds it hilarious
Other cabins beg Chiron to put someone less silly in charge, Mr. D thinks it's hilarious too so refuses to allow it

i am going to say something controversial here. i don't think Ed is that happy to sit and fold laundry. I don't think Ed is happy to be sitting in a place with nothing else to do. I think he would get bored real quick again of these repetitive tasks.
I am not entirely convinced with "I'm folding socks. And that's completely okay." I don't think it's that okay with him. At that moment, he's trying more than anything to reassure Stede that this is what he wants, that this is a choice he made and Stede shouldn't feel guilty for it - and at the same time he is worried that without his beard, now visually stripped of that persona, Stede won't find him exciting anymore. I think in this scene Ed is trying very much to overcompensate, as he is trying to seek Stede's approval that this is something they can both settle for, that he's content here and hopefully Stede is too, right? This is a best-case scenario for the two of them, given the circumstances.
He folds the socks then unfolds them and then folds them again. His hands are itching for something more to do. He wants the finer comforts of life but he loves the seas too much to settle for no adventure at all. He didn't think he was allowed to want anything more. His eyes light up at the idea of inventing new names, escaping to China, a new hope blooming at the prospect of a new life where he is loved by Stede and it fuels his energy his shoulders don't slump and he gets so excitable at the prospect of the escape he was all meh about until a moment ago. He wants another adventure, he wants the seas he wants the piracy of it all.
He just doesn't want it to be as rough and cutthroat as he is used to. He wants to mellow out. He wants to be able to pirate merchant ships and then welcome Stede with loving arms on their shared ship. He wants the middle ground, the sweet spot where things are fun to loot and pirate when he's doing it with Stede. That's the most fun he's had in years, maybe ever. He wants the loving environment Stede creates for him to explore these softer parts of himself, something he has been missing all along. I agree that he feels the need to sever himself from "Blackbeard" in this process but I feel like if he retired completely he would be unsatisfied, it would not keep his soul still. He would love folding laundry if it wasn't the only thing he does.
I feel like the ideal way for Ed to be happy is if he gets to be a pirate, have his adventures on the high seas, where he lets Stede take the lead in the looting but without feeling the need to contribute to the looting to feel happy about this shared equality of co-captaincy. He wants to be seen as soft, as loving and be soft and loving. He doesn't want to be a pirate from the necessity of it as he had been pushed to before because of poverty, among so many other things. He wants to be able to enjoy his life, finer silk and marmalade on toast. He also wants to get to choose when he wants to be "the dread pyrate Blackbeard" for shits and giggles bc planning the theatrical antics of their piracy makes Stede laugh, but not have to perform this role in a way that is taxing and all consuming, like it had gotten for him until he met Stede and found a respite; and realized he was allowed to want something more, something different.
