decided in my secret good spn rewrite chuck wouldn't Be God all along; in s4 he really is just a prophet channeling the inspired word, the narrative is exactly as terrifying and out of his control as it seems. prophets are not just vessels for the word of god, but also vessels of god. the first hint of this we get is in season 8, when something possesses kevin to protect him from gadreel, but we don't find out what. kevin doesn't remember anything, and gadreels only recalls seeing an incredibly bright light. chuck's appearance in fanfiction is exactly the same, as is don't call me shurley. we only learn about the prophets being god's vessels in all in the family, when kevin steps out from behind chuck and tells us about it. kevin's not a prophet anymore for Reasons

some thoughts on mag 200
i’ve been having trouble articulating this, but i wanted to get some thoughts down on mag 200, and the ending of tma as a whole, now that i’ve heard the finale twice and had some time to process it all. putting this under a cut in case people don’t wanna see it -- there’s gonna be a lot of praise here, but also some legit criticism. this is a way to sort through my feelings more than anything else.
first off, relistening to the finale, and sitting on it for a while, has made me feel a hell of a lot better about the whole thing. the episode comes off a lot better when you’re not vibrating with fear and anticipation, in my opinion. the final statement was very fitting and cool -- not my favorite ever, but i can appreciate it a lot as a final closing for the fears. and i don’t have an ear for soundscaping but the sound in that statement was cool as hell. the jonah magnus gets fucking murdered scene is incredibly satisfying. a lot of other people have said this, but i love that jon finally got his revenge, and was able to lash out against jonah for all the years of manipulation and beng used, and for tim and sasha and everything else. that was perfect. i genuinely thought we might not get a scene like this after 193 but i am so glad we did. incredibly satisfying. the girls made it out!! i am very glad that they’re ok and moving on and seem to be leaning on each other. (By God I Will Wring Found Family Out Of This Podcast If It Kills Me.) and the admiral’s okay. love that
and the jonmartin ending. oh my god. while i was never the biggest fan of the possibility of martin having to kill jon, the way it went down was so painful and good. i loved that final scene. i love the ambiguity -- that they might have died but maybe they didn’t, maybe they’re all right and happy and we can decide for ourselves -- i love that i got exactly what i wanted, that i get to have my cake and eat it too, all the angst of a jmart death and still the possibility of happiness... i am going buckwild. i love it. the longer i spend with this ending, the happier i am with it. i really really loved it
on another note... i do have some reservations about the finale and the season as a whole. i understand peoples’ irritations with the finale, and while i’m trying to focus on the things i did like, i definitely have some irritations. for one, i definitely wish the finale had been longer. i would’ve loved to see more of what wtgfs and basira were doing, and the actual lighting of the archives, etc. and while i completely understand why the scene at the panopticon went as quickly as it did -- it comes off very much as wild, frantic impulse in the heat of the moment where they’re in danger and trying to protect each other -- i do wish it had gone a little slower.
in my mind, the biggest issue in season 5 ended up being pacing. and this might be a personal preference thing -- there’s a lot of things within the show that i don’t personally vibe with, but i don’t necessarily think they’re badly written. but i do think season 5 was slow. and while slow things can certainly work in a certain context (season 4 comes off wildly slow til you listen to 160), i wish more of what actually happened in season 5 had been baked into the end game. the season felt like it had a lot of filler, which drives me mildly crazy, because the end game feels rushed and i don’t think it NEEDED to be. i liked a lot of what season 5 did -- there’s some impeccable episodes, the character interactions are weirdly lighter and softer than they have been in previous seasons, and i wouldn’t trade a lot of the things that it’s given us (all the jonmartin interactions, jon and georgie briefly rebuilding their friendship, martin and melanie friendship, wtgfs scenes and intimacy, backstory, lore, etc) for anything. but i do think it could’ve been structured and paced a little differently. i also think it could’ve given some more screentime to the character stuff we got from episodes like 161, 170, 186, 190, 191, 192, 199... i absolutely love both martin centric monologue episodes, but i hate that we didn’t get anything like that for jon. (or for melanie or georgie or basira...) the best episodes of the season, imo, are the ones that broke from traditional form of domain statement domain, and the ones that focused in hard on backstory, lore, character introspection, character interaction... i wish we had more of this.
when it comes to the jonmartin arc... i know this has been a point of contention with a lot of people, but i don’t hate it at all. maybe it’s just because i relistened to the majority of the season back in january, but a lot of the more grating moments that seemed large week to week (martin pressuring jon to smite people, the disagreements they had earlier in the season, jon using martin as bait in 176, etc etc) come off a lot more minor when you’re binging. personally, relistening to act i made those interactions come off as things they were struggling with through continued support and reassurance. there were absolutely things i wanted addressed, especially with the “kill bill arc” -- the disagreements early in the season, and how it seemed to turn on its head in the argument they have in 194. (i didn’t like martin blaming jon for the kill bill arc and i was hoping it would get brought up.) i also wanted to see a discussion of martin going with annabelle in 194 -- i wasn’t really ever mad at martin for doing it, but i did want to see them talk it out.
but! after relistening to 200, i think i have a better handle on why that couldn’t have happened. martin goes behind jon’s back to go with annabelle and they don’t talk about it; jon goes behind martin’s back to sabotage the plan everyone agrees on in order to prevent the fears from spreading. if they’d had a big talk about trust, and working through martin going off with annabelle, and then jon turned around and did the same thing, more or less... it would’ve completely soured that discussion. jon and martin needed to be in a place of discourse for this ending to work.
honestly, the more i’ve thought about this final JM arc, the better i feel about it. sure, jon and martin are in a bad place, and they’ve gone behind each other’s backs and been somewhat selfish, but i don’t think this ruins their relationship. for one, martin’s break in trust comes from a place of wanting to save jon and the world. and for another, jon genuinely feels he is doing the right thing, making a decision he can live with. (i have my own opinions as to how ethical jon’s decision was, but that’s another post. and i think the muddy ethics of this ending are on purpose -- it’s horror, a genre that often doesn’t offer ethical decisions.) their final decisions and final moments come from a place of love and protectiveness, and they change their decisions for the other. they still love each other, through all of it. i don’t think these late stage betrayals equivalate jonmartin necessarily being doomed as a couple (not that anyone has said that, but it’s worth saying). and i think it’s important to remember that this is still a relatively new relationship. it existed for approximately three weeks before the literal apocalypse, and it’s been under an immense amount of stress, as well as the constant fear that one or both of them would die. (which they did.) i’m not saying that excuses certain things they’ve said or done, but i am saying i don’t think the relationship is doomed. i think, if jon and martin have survived, they’ll need to work through things. they’ll need to talk it all out. and they’ll be able to! they’ll heal from this one way or another. the tragedy isn’t that jonmartin is doomed, or toxic. it’s that these moments of betrayal are what dooms them. and the beautiful undercurrent of it all is that they still manage to come together, and make decisions that mean they stay together. and that wherever they are, they’re still together.
all in all, i don’t think season 5 has been perfect, and i can make my peace with that. (tma’s worst is a hell of a lot better than most shows’ best.) (i also think it might be worth considering how covid could have affected certain aspects of how the season was written -- pandemics are stressful, and i can’t imagine what it’s like to finish an enormous, in the works for years project like this in the middle of that. personally, i’m impressed they’ve managed to finish the show through all of this and keep it to a similar quality.) i think critiques are valuable and worth discussing. and i think plot aspects aside, there are several other critique related things that could be brought up about this season that people have articulated much better than i ever could. but i also, personally, want to walk away from the show feeling satisfied. i tend to be weirdly positive about things i love (the x files finale was horrendous, but i managed to get to a place where i was happy with it, for example), and i think that applies here -- even more so because i really did love so many aspects of that finale. i don’t necessarily want to linger in my own mind over what i disliked, especially considering the show is over. although i did want to air out my thoughts.
i still love this show. i loved a lot of episodes this season, frustrations aside. season 5 will forever be my only live tma experience, and it got me through one of the worst years of my life, and i am very grateful for this. i genuinely did just want to air out my thoughts and get them all down on paper. these are just my opinions -- i don’t want to criticize anyone who feels differently about the finale, or the season as a whole. everyone’s opinion is their own.
i feel a lot, lot better about mag 200, to the point of genuinely loving it. i hope my appreciation only grows as i get further from that frenzied first day and have more time to sit with it. and i can’t wait to see all the art and read all of the amazing fics that are going to come out of this ending (and write some of my own). it’s been a wild ride. i’m glad i was here for it.

Lol even though this is like only a day late I still feel kinda bad. But I also like had to study for a midterm all day yesterday and this morning sooo. Okay I didn’t even think of Mike coming out as his monologue but that could be soo cool and interesting. Because they kinda keep doing the same thing with Mike in a way now (he hangs out with el, he is incredibly loyal to his friends to the point of death (everyone is like that but..), he loses his friends or he’s wary of everyone else, he has bitchy moments, and is like the leader of everyone). Idk I’m kinda just realizing that now that I think with multiple characters they kinda do the same thing in a way. Which is why I actually love the development of Dustin having a crush on max and then being in a cute and loving relationship with Suzy in the next season. Cuz I feel like even though that does involve his romantic relationship I feel like him and suzie just fit so well together and honestly they are so cute. Everyone was hating that never ending story song but I loved that scene! I feel like they needed that bit of funny in there especially since the stakes were higher. Like I got the vibe of Steve freaking out in season 1 type of funny. Like yeah everything is serious and stuff but that just adds to it. And I think that it adds to Dustin’s character especially because he was so hesitant to do it but realized that they couldn’t save the world if he didn’t do it and satisfy suzie. He knew all of his friends would hear it and they were in a dire situation. And then it was so cute how he just got so into it after that like he really enjoyed singing with her. And you can just tell that the two of them had such a fun time with that. Dammit now I really wanna know how they started singing it and how that came to be.
Also I loved everything that you said about Nancy! I have like nothing really more to add except the same thing. Sooo. Yay! I am so glade you agree with me in the el and max thing. Because I see so many people hating that storyline just because of they want to see ‘girl power’. And I guess maybe when we didn’t know how that storyline was going to go it was a little bit worrying and off putting but it’s been a few years now and we know how their friendship goes so idk why anyone still upholds that heavily. And somehow they still hate it even though it’s ‘girl power’. It legit just confused me some of the fandom say they want el and max to be friends but when they actually do it’s just viewed as a forced girl relationship. I love el and max’s relationship/friendship so like I’m kinda biased and get annoyed when people are like ‘but it wasn’t done right’. Idk if that’s just me but also I’m sorry if not articulating correctly I am soo sleepy.
Okay I legit just came up with that reasoning for Steve on the fly. Idk why but my mind just somehow thought of the cheating and what we know about what Steve said with his parents and I was like wait what if he helped out his mother when he was younger. Because also Steve has so much experience with kinda just shrugging topics of and his emotions off. Like he kinda just keeps that to himself and we even saw that with ‘it’s okay Nancy’ which I think even though it’s just three words it’s kinda poetic. The way joe just says it and the way Nancy and Steve look at each other in that moment speaks volumes!! And they’re barely even talking!!! They don’t have that much communication in that scene and yet they’re able to understand what is happening! It’s an amazing scene and gets overlooked with the babysitting line. Also another line that gets not enough attention from Steve is ‘nobody is leaving anyone.’ God it is such a good line! Also the best part is that the lines aren’t even that long and yet it gives you so much insight into Steve.
Okay another paragraph for this because I don’t want to get it confused with that last one. Okay the line you said about Steve not knowing whether Jonathan would actually spread that around!! I never thought of it like that. Like what was he actually going to do with it?!? He kinda just says that he likes looking at the small details and what people are like underneath. But he only tells that to Nancy and not Steve. Which stills brings up the whole Jonathan also violating Steve’s property and just Steve in general. Honestly steve had a right to be pissed about that. (However what he said in alleyway is still awful and I don’t want to make it seem like I think Steve can do no wrong). Like Steve was with his friends and in a very private place. Because also it was a very private together: it was legit just 5 people if you include Steve. Jonathan was not invited at all and Steve was legit just trying to protect himself, Nancy, and his friends. Which something I also kinda find interesting is the fact that the Nicole girl I believe she was a redhead. She saw the photos and just brought it up to Steve (assuming here) but she also didn’t even say anything. But like she goes to Steve and I don’t believe carol or tommy even knew before the confrontation. Idk what I think this means but kinda interesting. Also about the whole how the supposed cheating thing hit hard with Steve in season 1. I honestly feel like they could have developed that so much. Cuz I kinda feel weird with how they treated everything. Like Nancy and Jonathan weren’t cheating so Steve did unforgivable things. And when they do actually cheat on him (knowing that they’re cheating as Nancy even had the most guilty face while also not even looking that guilty at all) Steve has to just take it. And also it is legit when the entire world is resting on their shoulders and they’re all gonna die. And the whole thing blew up on Halloween too. So like Steve would legit have to spend his night feeling so upset (which even though Will’s Halloween was way and much worse I kinda just was like parallel in my head even tho it really ain’t). Anyway sorry if I either rambled or didn’t address some things I am just like so tired but I also wanted to send this and come up with everything sooo.
don’t feel bad!! I totally understand I was studying all last week for midterms and it was rough lol, but I hope you did well :)
yeah you’re right, a lot of the characters do kind of have the same pattern that they follow. but I think with the whole growing up and things changing we’ll get to see new sides of characters and hopefully new storylines that really expand on what they’re capable of. I actually liked the never ending scene too lol! like yeah it was weird and out of left field but it really added some lightness and humor to the scene. like it (and Dustin’s whole thing was suzie) was cute and funny! and I hope they bring it up next season bc if my friend did that shit I would ever let them live it down lol. I also liked dustin’s arc with max and I hope they make them into close friends next season (if they add in romance between those two I will pay the writers a VERY unpleasant visit). because max isn’t that close with mike (and I don’t think he’ll be with the hawkins gang for long anyway), she and lucas are dating and having their on-again-off-again situation (which I have a lot of feelings on how their relationship was treated in s3 but that’s a whole other conversation lol), and el is gone. so max doesn’t really have any like close friends. and we were robbed of a dustin and max friendship in season 3, so I hope they give us that this season.
I think max and el’s friendship was done right and like you said, I don’t really get why people don’t like it? like it doesn’t feel forced, it feels like two girl who haven’t really had close female friendships finding their way together. like el has so much to learn about the world and not all of that can be taught or helped by the boys or hopper. she needs someone like max to tell her that it’s okay to dump your boyfriend if you’re not happy, it okay to be your own person and stuff. and yeah, was all of her advice sound and did it take into account the fact that el has difference circumstances compared to max? no. but like we said max is a child, like she’s only telling el what she knows. and max is still technically the new kid in a sense and there’s a lot she has to get about the party and hawkins as a whole. that’s were el comes and plays an important role in her life. I think they compliment each other nicely and they make a good team.
steve definitely is the kind of person that just shrugs off his own emotions, and I know I sound like a broken record but hope we see more of that next season. like eventually that’s gonna come back and bite him in ass, and he’s gonna have to face all of the shit that he’s been through (along with every other character). but that conversation with nancy really does tell a lot about steve’s character and especially his growth from season one. like yeah, he realized he’s good at watching for the kids, but more importantly that conversation really shows up where his priorities lie, you know? he really does love nancy and he just wants her to be happy, even if that’s not with him. and he knows that she’s struggling with everything with barb. so when she says she’s not leaving mike, like how she “left” barb, steve, in a roundabout kind of way, reassures her that it wasn’t her fault and helping jonathan deal with will doesn’t mean she’s abandoning mike.
yeah the way they made the steve, nancy, jonathan ordeal revolve around steve thinking nancy’s cheating on him but they were really only monster hunting, and they they turned it around and had her actually cheat on steve in season two. like that was so messed up and could have been handled differently. even if they would have had steve and nancy break up for real on halloween instead of making steve still think he could fix it and change her would have been better and wouldn’t have changed much to their plot. because at the end of the day everything that steve thought was happening in s1, happened in s2. and obviously what steve did in retaliation was totally wrong on his end. like I’m not justifying the movie theater thing or what he said to jonathan at all. but it was like...they made it out to be a whole ordeal that was resolved by the end of s1 (even though it was pretty clear that nancy had some sort of change in feelings for jonathan at the end of s1). then they turned around and both threw steve’s feelings under the bus while trying to make him into the very lovable character. and that worked, obviously, he’s a fan favorite now. but I hope they pull him out of his whole relationship slump and give him some kind of promising relationship before the series ends. not that characters need to have some sort of love interest, but I feel like after everything steve deserves that much.

The Joker x Reader- “The Work Wife” Part 6
You’ve been working for The Joker for the past 10 years: you speak and act for him and no matter the circumstances, Y/N is always there to take care of everything he needs.  The King of Gotham might not be married, yet he has a perfect partner: his work wife.
Tumblr media
Starts HERE
After 1 Month
The Joker circles the warehouse, inspecting the boxes and crates full of ammo and smuggled goods received with last night’s shipment.
“Hmm…” he eyeballs a decorative vase engraved with gold and silver, wondering if the extravagant object should become part of his collection at The Penthouse. His cell start vibrating and J takes it out of pocket, impatient to hear about his wife’s routine checkup:
“ ‘ello,” he kicks two packages out of the way.
“Hi,” you greet your spouse. “Just got out of my appointment; the doctor said all seems fine. He ordered some lab tests to make sure my blood levels are within the normal range; I should get the results in about 3 days.”
“That’s awesome!” he grumbles while bending over to grab some papers scattered on the floor. “I’m glad you’re ok, I should have come also for moral support.”
Y/N smiles at the confession, choosing not to disclose it makes her happy:
“You have to sort out the cargo; the buyer will be there shortly.”
“Yeah, but this could have waited.”
Your smile gets wider as J fumbles around with several items.
“Tell you what: I’ll finish up some stuff here and I’ll drive to pitch in.”
The King of Gotham wouldn’t normally decline yet he’s actually worried after everything that happened.
“Nope, I want you to rest; you’ve been too active lately and you need to slow down. Why are you giggling?” he smacks his lips, displeased four trunks look like they’ve been tampered with.
“Nothing in particular,” the bubbly Y/N keeps the best for last.
“I’ll see you home; I found something I don’t like,” The Joker grunts as the heavy lid is lifted from one of the containers. “Stay put and relax!” he orders and you nonchalantly drop the bomb:
“Maybe I will,” and after a small pause: “Oh! By the way, I was given green light for sex.”
“ ‘kay, see you in a couple of hours,” J struggles with the box and waits for your long “Byeeeeee” before hanging up. A few seconds into his task and it hits.
“Holy shit!” he exhales and holds his breath, startled. “Jesus!!” he abandons the precious merchandise, running towards the exit. “Froooossst!!!” he gets his henchman’s assistance. “Take over!!”
“Yes sir!” Jonny emerges from one of the SUV’s parked inside, not understanding why his boss is in a hurry. “Anything wrong?”
“No!!! I have a personal emergency!!” The Joker shouts and pushes the heavy metal door to the side, wishing he was already at his destination.
*************
J enters the code on the pin pad and he is granted access into your apartment. He went to The Penthouse first: you weren’t there and he figured you must be on the 29th floor. He storms inside and rushes towards the bedroom when his enthusiasm is abruptly halted by no other than Jonathan Crane coming out of the kitchen.
Scarecrow almost drops the fresh coffee mug you brewed for him; The Clown Prince of Crime was certainly not informed you had company. Doesn’t matter though, he’s not one to be embarrassed by his current situation:
“May I help you Crane?” a high and mighty J sassily blurs out wearing nothing but his birthday suit.
“I doubt it,” Jonathan is quick to respond. “I dropped by to bring you extra ampules of Liquid Dream like you wanted and pain killers refill for Y/N in case she needs more.”
You suddenly pop up from behind Scarecrow, not being able to stop the question:
“Why are you naked?!”
The Joker opens his mouth because he has a cool explanation, yet the guest doesn’t care about it.
“I think I should bail,” he smirks as he passed by J. “I’m taking the cup, I’ll bring it back next time,” he announces and can’t contain a smartass remark: “Nice attire.”
Your husband bitterly growls and as always, you have to be the catalyst for a better outcome:
“Thank you, Jonathan!”
Scarecrow waves without adding extra comments, 100% positive you’ll burst out laughing as soon as he vacates the premises.
And he’s correct.
“Oh my God,” you snicker since you didn’t expect such a funny coincidence to unfold within today’s schedule. “That was hilarious!” the amused Y/N finds herself in The Joker’s arms moments after Jonathan’s departure. “Where are your clothes?!” you kiss him and he yanks at your waist, purring.
“The jacket and shirt in the car, pants and boxers in the elevator,” he admits while guiding you towards the couch in the living room. “The socks and shoes are somewhere on the hallway.”
“I was wondering when you’ll realize about the news I shared,” you whisper in his ear as he takes off your summer dress, aroused.
The two bodies plunge on the sofa, Y/N enjoying the intimacy as much as he does:
“J… … J…” you cling to him when his left hand slips in your bikini.
“Mmm? Does something hurt?” The Joker pecks the tip of your nose, ready to quit if you say yes.
“No… it’s not that,” the seriousness in your voice makes him pay attention.
Maybe you shouldn’t bring up the past in these circumstances; here it comes anyway:
“If the Las Vegas events repeat themselves… I won’t forgive you again,” you stare in his eyes without blinking. “I won’t return… ”
The Joker is silent and you wonder what’s going on in his mind; it’s not a secret he was miserable after being abandoned in the City of Lights due to his despicable conduct.
“They won’t.”
“Are you sure?” the doubt in your tone forces him to reveal:
“I’m sure because it felt horrible when you weren’t around.”
You caress J’s hair and remind him you won’t compromise for less than his total commitment:
“You’re either mine or you’re not, ok?...”
“I’m yours,” he grumbles and it’s not very difficult since the woman asking is no casual fling but the only one he ever wanted to marry for reals. “I want the special treatment,” the immediate request makes you snort: it’s so like him to articulate crap like this in the middle of a serious discussion.
“Do you?!”
“Yes!!” The Joker nibbles on your neck and underlines his affliction: “I’ve been so horny I’m not sure how I still function; I behaved though, I swear!” he’s fast to emphasize while pulling on your bra strap. “You know why?” J throws the question out there, aware the statement will please his wife. “I tolerate you… even if you’ve been nagging me for almost 12 years.”
“Careful,” you admonish. “Uttering such words makes you sound like you’re in love.”
“God forbids! You think so?!” the painful grimace on his face prompts more teasing from your part:
“Yeap, no cure for this terrible disease.”
Your bra ends up on the floor and he’s not content with the epilogue.
“I’m screwed then.”
“Noooot yet,” you wink and his purring intensifies when your teeth sink into his shoulder. “We’re getting there.”
************
Same morning, 11:47am
“There you are!” J exclaims discovering you on the terrace. “You disappeared on me Y/N: I thought you said we’ll have lunch,” the hyper spouse recalls. “What’s wrong?” he frowns seeing you wiping your tears and doesn’t stress the lack of an answer when he notices the ultrasound picture. The Joker quietly sits by you on the swing, kissing your scared cheek in the process. “You ok?”
“U-hum,” you nod. “I wish I didn’t have the miscarriage, you know?...” your bottom lip quivers while placing the image in your robe’s pocket. “I really wanted a baby…”
“My poor old girl…” he sighs and doesn’t expect you to agree.
“I am old!” you keep sobbing and he squeezes you closer to him. “It was probably my last chance to have a child and I blew it!”
The King of Gotham sucks at cheering; he attempts nevertheless:
“Mmmm… You’re supposed to say you’re not old and then I reply that you are old for my standards, which should prompt you to fight back and highlight my standards are crap. Am I to carry on these sort of conversations meant for two by myself now?!” he huffs. “People will think I’m crazy!”
You snort at his monologue and it’s the perfect opportunity to make it clear your opinion is unchanged:
“Your standards are crap!”
“There you are,” the delighted Joker reckons. “I got nervous for a moment,” he chuckles and you elbow him, smiling through tears. “What about we eat something and then we can plan our location for the honeymoon we didn’t get to enjoy?”
J’s plan is working: the little surprise proposition is distracting Y/N and she carefully weighs in his sentences.
“Would you like to elope?” he pushes for a decision and you play with your wedding ring, mumbling:
“I don’t wanna go to Vegas.”
“No Vegas!” he’s fast to consent. “Where to then?”
“Well…” you sniffle, “…what about Reno? We could stay at Solaris Casino; Mark Nessi would accommodate us.”
“He would. If we pack and leave, we can make it there by 7:30-ish pm.”
“You want to leave today?! What about your meetings? You actually have one tomorrow.”
“Meh, Frost can postpone them,” The Joker dismisses your concerns. “I vote we bail and have fun, hm?” he lifts your chin up. “Let’s get the hell out of here, yes?” the impatient Clown wiggles next to you.
“OK…” Y/N elects to grant his plea because escaping town couldn’t have a better timing: it will be nice to spend time together and try to get over the disappointment of his past mistake.
**************
Reno, 8:42pm
You and The Joker are strolling towards the gambling area, excited to have made it here an hour ago. The traffic wasn’t bad and you took turns driving, that’s why you had dinner first and then changed clothes in order to enjoy the night properly.
“I liked the lobster,” you pull at his arm since he’s distrait. “How was your stake?” you seek to chat when he suddenly opens the door to one of the storage closets and shoves you inside. You get trapped against the wall as J claims his special request for the evening.
“I want the special treatment,” he growls and you smirk.
“You didn’t do anything to earn it! This morning I made an exception because it’s been weeks since we had sex. Don’t let my lenience trick you!”
“Don’t nag me!” J cuts you off. “This backless red dress of yours is doing things to me so I want the special treatment,” he slides his arms around your waist.
“Surrounded by shampoo bottles and toilet paper?!”
“It’s quite sexy,” The Joker grins and you compromise a tiny bit:
“I’ll only do the first part! That’s it! I want to go and play poker.”
His face comes close to yours and you start kissing every inch of it, ogling the door instead of paying attention to him.
“You’re not doing it right!” your husband complains. “You’re supposed to look at me!”
You switch your concentration and keep staring in his eyes, abandoning the project when you consider it done.
“Where are you going?” J stops your movement. “Thanks to you I can’t walk now,” he lifts up your short dress and you dodge his touch, opening the door in order to escape.
“Of course you can! Come on, stop sulking,” you drag him out and he follows, bickering at your indifference.
“You’re mean!” The Joker admonishes and you intertwine his fingers with yours, guiding him in the direction of the VIP room.
“No, I’m not,” you defend your actions. “I’ve been around you for so many years that those blue eyes and long lashes don’t have any powers over me,” Y/N teases. “I’m immune.”
“Bullshit!” he mutters and you steal a kiss, inviting him to enter the poker room.
“Do you want to sit by the bar?” you point and J doesn’t oppose the choice. “I’m getting a cocktail. Grape juice?”
“No,” he pouts and makes himself comfortable while you fetch your drink.
“Hello Mister Joker,” one of the dolled-up girls swiftly pops up at the table. “I didn’t see you in forever!”
“I’ve been busy,” he avoids the subject and barks when she tries to collapse on the chair next to his. “This seat’s taken!”
“Oh,” she straightens her back. “By whom?!” the envious Ella inquires.
Did another girl get to him first?! It’s common knowledge he’s generous with his flings and she can’t believe another will cash in the benefits.
“My wife,” he taps his fingers on the table, annoyed the interrogation continues.
“You got married Mister Joker?!” the woman doesn’t hide her astonishment: it’s not that his nuptials were broadcasted on the news. Plus… he’s a very weird man, totally not husband material.
“A few months ago,” he sneers and she’s not smart enough to take the hint.
“Who did you marry Mister Joker?” she giggles, more and more convinced he’s bluffing: The King of Gotham is probably messing around to make her jealous.
“My best friend and main nagger,” J bitterly mentions. “Isn’t this what people do? Marry their best friends?”
“You almost got me Mister Joker,” she laughs at his strange acknowledgement, reassured he’s messing with her: an individual like him would pronounce such nonsense only to initiate flirting.
“Excuse me!” you bump into her on purpose, aware why she’s there. “I got you grape juice on ice,” you place the glass in front of your spouse and he opens his mouth in amazement.
“I was literally about to order this! How did you know I changed my mind?!”
“Best friends know,” you bend to kiss him and J pouts, annoyed you overheard his childish affirmation.
“You have such a cool tattoo on your back!” Ella exclaims. “Is that Japanese?”
Y/N turns in her chair, confused to notice the lady is still standing behind them.
“Yes.”
“What does it say?”
You take a deep breath, fed up by her unwanted presence.
“It says that if you don’t get lost, I’ll make sure your body is never found again! And if it’s eventually found, it surely won’t be identifiable!!”
You reprise your position at the poker table, patiently waiting for the dealer to finish handing out the cards.
“I’m so hot and bothered,” J brushes his lips on yours. “Your attitude begs for my undivided eagerness to peel you out of this dress,” he lustfully glares at your cleavage.“What do you say we leave and have a party on our own? We can play strip poker in the honeymoon suite.”
“We just got here minutes ago,” you fix a rebel strand of hair then whisper: “Table seven, white shirt guy.”
“Do you ever take vacations?” The Joker grinds his teeth, nonchalantly gazing at your suspicious target.
“I like to mix business with pleasure,” you wink and accidentally spill a little bit of your cocktail on his pants. “Oops, pardon me; I assume you have to come with me if you need help stepping out of your wet garment.”
“As that old Arkham report specifies: I need all the help I can get,” The Clown reveals to an amused Y/N, excited she’s receptive to his innuendos.
**************
You emerge from the walk-in closet in your skimpy purple lace attire and The Joker gasps, enticed at the view.
“Oh my God! Com’ere!” he gestures for your company and you crawl in bed, pushing aside the items scattered on the sheets:
“What’s with the shampoo bottles and toilet paper rolls?!”
“I’m attempting to recreate the seductive atmosphere in the storage room, maybe it can convince you to continue the special treatment.”
“You don’t give up, do you?” you scoff and straddle his lap, conflicted if you should grant his wish.
“I usually don’t… Are you gonna help like you promised and take off my pants?” J gropes you and the knock at the door interrupts your answer.
“Room service!”
“Did you order from the menu?” you ask and your husband purrs:
“More champagne.”
“Maybe our new friend has arrived,” you wink, hopping out of bed.
“Why don’t we find out?” The Joker spanks your butt as you cover your body with the bathrobe.
Y/N grabs the bottle of champagne from the ice bucket and hides around the corner while he shouts:
“Come in!”
The waiter pushes in the rolling cart in the middle of the lobby, greeting his grouchy customer:
“Hi Mister Joker, would you like one bottle or two?”
“One!”
You creep beyond him and smash the glass against his skull; the man falls on his knees and you take advantage of his dizziness to switch him face up: it is the guy from table seven!
“Who send you?” you ferociously punch him and he struggles to escape when The King’s gun ends up one inch away from his temple. “Who send you?” Y/N shrieks and she’s so absorbed into her job she can’t discern the mesmerized Joker staring at her. It’s not that he didn’t see you in action before, but it finally clicked:
It sure pays off being married to your work wife!

Top 10 Movie Characters That Should Start A Vlog Channel
Tumblr media
Here are some movie characters that could inspire you to something different with your vlog!
Okay, so obviously, it can’t just be any characters. That’s way too broad. Let's narrow down the list to characters who have shown a habit of addressing the audience directly.
So the picks will be based on how consistent and creative they do this.
Extra points for ideas that could inspire YOUR VLOG today.
Read on for the full transcript or watch the video here.

If you’re just starting to vlog or want to get better. Consider joining. I make weekly videos about getting better at vlogging through storytelling.
With that said. Let’s get right to it.
10. Jordan Belfort - The Wolf of Wall Street
Tumblr media
Ok, he’s a real person I know. So I can’t really put him any higher than this.
But he’s got legit bad boy rep, he was pleaded guilty to fraud and manipulation of stock market back in the 90s.
Lambos? Check. Recklessness? Check. Big parties? Check. Hungry followers? Check.
And since he wasn’t exactly an honest guy, he probably won’t care about exaggerating any of the things that happen on his vlog.
Lessons Learned:
If you entertain people by being obnoxious, be sure to invite friends to be reckless with you.
Dial everything to an eleven
9. Rob Gordon - High Fidelity
Tumblr media
While this one not as well known as the others, it is one of the few movies on this list that's almost completely told in this 1st person perspective.
He owns a record store and is obsessed with making top 5 lists.
Here are a few highlights
Rob's desert island, all time, top five most memorable breakups
Your top five worst things that you have done to your partner, even if – especially if – your partner doesn't know about them
Rob's top five angry songs about women
Since he turns to us throughout the movie telling us his most inner thoughts of his relationships, maybe that’s great idea for a relationship channel? Or, at least, a comically look at what not to do when looking for love?
Lessons Learned:
Make top 5 lists of everything can be fun
Study the way the pieces together his monologues while going about his life.
8. Amélie - Amélie
Tumblr media
Speaking of love, she’s probably the most charming French character in search of romance.
It’s a shame she didn’t speak to the camera enough, but whenever she spoke to us, it’s always a treat.
If you’re looking add a more whimsical perspective in life. She’ll probably be able to show you how to deliver content like little pranks, little delights in small pleasures, and little adventures like returning a lost tin box to a man who hasn’t seen it for 40 years.
Lessons Learned:
Make the mundane magical.
Find adventures in the world around you
Stay curious
7. Harry Lockhart - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Tumblr media
Here’s a more story driven vlog. A guy who is a thief mistaken for an actor, who then gets mistaken to be a killer... or something like that.
You’ve probably haven’t seen this movie.
But he gets extra points for some clever idea in addressing the audience.
First, he doesn’t just tell the whole story with narration, he also speaks directly to the audience directly.
“How ‘bout it filmgoer? Have you solved the case with the dead people in L.A.?”
Secondly, wondering aloud whether a scene should’ve been included or not.
”Ok, I apologize. That was a terrible scene. It’s like, why was that in the movie, geez!”
He also tells people to move over while visualize a memory from the past.
Now, it’s questionable whether all this is sustainable, because it’s not every day you stumbled upon a dead body.
Lessons Learned:
Use narration to add another dimension of your story, revealing either your thoughts that you had, or thoughts that you had while you edit your vlog.
6. Deadpool - Deadpool
Tumblr media
This guy can do no wrong. And, you’ve got give it up to his social media campaigns. Being self-aware goes a long way.
We can also learn a thing or two about slowing down, and not take yourself seriously, and no matter the situation.
If all else fails, he can just cut off his arm and he’ll probably get a bajillion views.
But one does have to wonder though, does vlogging kill off the whole 4th wall break that he’s famous for? If speaking to the camera is the norm for vlogging, then there are no 4th walls to break then?
Lessons Learned:
Make jokes about everything.
Remember there’s no need to be stressed when trouble comes your way. In fact, those make the most interesting vlogs.
5. Alvy Singer - Annie Hall
Tumblr media
OK, I’ll admit, I didn’t know this one. This is from 1977. I mean I wasn’t even born yet, but it turns out to be pretty good. I guess you don’t win 4 Oscars for nothing.
One thing I know for sure is he’ll have no problem vlogging because this guy just keeps talking non-stop. Quipping about anything and everything on his mind.
Another thing that’s kinda cool is he’ll also re-enact scenes in his story.
Then at any time, he’ll stop his re-enactment to tell us exactly what he’s thinking.
And even bringing real people into the show. Collaboration at its finest.
But, I guess I’m not sure kids these days can relate to a guy from the 70s.
Lessons Learned:
Re-enact your stories, only to pause everything while you give a monologue
Or, bring in a collaborator during one of these pauses to explain for comedic effect.
4. Tyler Durden - Fight Club
Tumblr media
While he doesn’t address the audience enough in the movie nab a top 3 spot.
One thing we know is that Tyler Durden has no problem with creating a following.
While it might be interesting to see the inner workings of their underground boxing club, it doesn’t necessarily promote a good message.
The last thing we want is millions of subs getting an assignment to start fights with strangers.
But expect a lot of pranks, that’s always entertaining.
Expect motivational philosophies
And lastly, expect corporate sponsorship, lots and lots of ads.
But with that said, if he vlogged though, does that mean he’ll figure out his identity twist right away?
Lessons Learned:
Pranks are always fun. Find some pranks you can do to your close friends.
Articulate your worldview. Figure out what is that message you want to get across.
Start incorporating brands into your lifestyle
3. Wayne Campbell - Wayne's World
Tumblr media
These guys have an identity crisis.
They’re definitely not shy from being goofy, and they’ve already got the experience of starting their own show.
There’s something to be said about the ability to publish content that’s cringe-worthy, that’s how we get better right?
Not taking themselves seriously enough is what leads to a creative ending where they change endings on the fly.
And if their jokes aren’t landing, at least it’s super easy for to shameless plug sponsorship as a joke. Savvy move.
Lessons Learned:
Don’t take yourself so seriously.
Joke about sponsorships, it’ll be easy to digest.
Keep publishing and challenging your creativity.
2. Ferris Bueller - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Tumblr media
There’s a reason that you’re spoofed and referenced by 2 other movies on this list.
Even though this cult classic character is from 30 years ago, he encapsulates so much of how we understand online video today.
He finds adventure in the tiniest and most boring town.
He shows you how to do “How-to” videos
He does light-hearted pranks
Underneath the rebellious facade is a warm heart that looks out for the well being of his friends.
And if you’ve heard of this movie, you’ve probably heard of the amazing post-credit scene. That’s what you call connecting with your audience.
Lessons Learned:
Talk to your audience, and move around. Connect your shots to keep things interesting.
Take ideas on how you can turn a boring day into a fun one.
Insert random how-to videos.
You don’t have to vlog alone, find a friend!
1. Peter Parker - Spider-Man Homecoming
Tumblr media
He’s got a photography background, so you’ll know his vlogs will be pretty.
He can probably get shots that drones can’t
Plus, his commitment to always looking for action, is sure to bring a lot of interesting episodes.
But the most exciting thing about his vlog is probably the message, a daily vlog about him trying to help and save people every day.
And he IS the only on this list that has actually done vlogging.
BUT he only did it as Peter Parker, so let’s hope he figures out what to do with his secret identity, cause he’s got a message every should hear.
Lessons Learned:
Have a positive message
Use your actions on daily basis to convey your message. (No one wants to hear “With great power comes great responsibility” repeatedly. Let your life speak for you)
Instead of walking around, jump around.
Summary
So there you have it. I hope that you’re inspired with some ideas to try in your vlogs.
Is there any character that should’ve been on this list? Let me know below.
