“Harry said double dialling was a bad look but who can blame me for wanting to hear your voice,” Niall purred as soon as the line connected. The cheeky smile he was wearing could be heard in his suggestive lilt. The side of Louis's neck throbbed. He closed his eyes to it, not sure if he wanted to stop or savour the bright ache. 

“Niall,” he tried, and it came out like a whimper clouded with confusion, his thoughts shutting down into base instincts. Niall’s mark was on his neck. Niall would know what to do. Niall would fix this. 

“What’s wrong?” Niall’s voice went cold, every trace of teasing gone. 

He sounded angry. Louis didn’t want him to be angry. He wanted him here. Because- because he was-

“D- drop- ping.” The word a three part stutter through clenched teeth. 

Niall said something like a swear word, then something else, but it all became noise Louis couldn’t follow. All he could think about was the burning on his neck and the need to go home. Not this impersonal place, not his drafty flat, but somewhere safe and warm and-

“Omega,” a new voice crooned through the speaker. It was smooth and gentle, like a hand stroking over his spine. 

“Please.” The word slipped from Louis's lips before he knew what he was asking for. Anything, he figured. Anything the voice was willing to give him. 

The voice rumbled in a low hum and it washed over Louis like a hot bath, warming him from head to curling toes. “You’re okay, luv, I’m right here with you. Tell me where we are.” 

“Kitchen floor.” 

“Your kitchen?” Louis hummed in assent.  “All right, let’s get you somewhere better, hmm? Put me on speaker. Tell me when it’s done.”

He forced his fingers to move. “Done.” 

“Put the phone in your hand. Is it done?” 

Louis clutched it with a dying man’s sweaty palm. “Done.” 

“Now I want you to get on your knees- Don’t stand, we don’t want you falling. Hands and knees, let’s go.” 

Louis shook his head in denial even as he rolled onto his stomach and slowly, ever so slowly, got his jello limbs to push up. He immediately shifted his weight backwards to his heels like a praying man looking for salvation with his forehead pressed to the cool laminate. 

Trembling from exertion he knew he had to tell Alpha it was done, he had to follow the rules. “D-done.” 

“Good job, Louis. Now go to the sofa.”

A whine peeled from him. Impossible. There was no way he could manage it, he- 

“C’mon, I know you can be good for me.” 

“Trying,” he promised immediately. 

He could be good, he knew how to be good. His muscles tensed, and painstakingly slow he started moving, one shuffle at a time, towards the sofa he could see across the open-plan room. 

It could have taken him hours to cross the floor, all he knew was the constant battle against his shaking limbs and the need to do what Alpha told him. By the time he got to the overstuffed sofa still smelling of the store it was from, he was too tired to protest rolling into it with one last final push to get onto the cushions. He burrowed into the crease of them. 

He was panting hot breath into the narrow space. Eyes watering. If he were clear headed, he’d have been embarrassed. As it were, he was sunk so low he didn’t have the energy to cry propper. 

“Louis, tell me you made it,” said the angel in the phone. 

“Made it,” he whispered, because he knew how to listen, he did. 

“Good boy, Louis. Now stay where I put you.” The world was black. Alpha put him here. Alpha made him safe. 

The silence was too big, it let the fear creep in, fear that despite what Alpha said, Louis hadn’t been good enough.

The world fell away with the urgency of free-fall. His body tensed and curled into the tightest ball it could, hunching into itself with gripping terror that he’d been left alone, falling in the dark. 

He gasped a wet, ragged cry. “Don’t-!” 

“I’m right here,” Alpha crooned. And he was, his voice spun out with words that became a melodious thread, and it wove into a blanket large enough to swallow Louis whole. 

His mind went black.

I meant I am more so disappointed with the interview. It was meant to be this lovely deep dive “no PR” thing from an interviewer who has known ot5 since the very beginning, and it just seemed copy and pasted at the beginning, then 5 questions louis has been asked a million times before, and then… nothing. It was overhyped and underdelivered. We were just hoping for something a bit more exciting than the same LATAM promo questions he’s been having. But he did this interview in feb apparently.

and people are saying that if you believe that Larry aren’t together than why would you stan two people who “larrybait” etc., and Louis being a shit dad and not spending time with his kid and making mildly homophobic comments, and harry dating girl after girl and seemingly being a womaniser, it’s a whole thing that I can’t really be bothered going into but yeah. If you believe their public images, it’s a lot harder to believe they’re the boys we know and love.

Into every generation and all that, Louis knows it, but that doesn’t mean that he has to like it when Liam puts himself in danger every night. It’s bad enough when it’s just your run of the mill vampire, it’s different when words like apocalypse and end of the world get thrown around. Liam takes it in stride, as he always does, jokes about how they need to come up with a plural form of apocalypse because they’ve lived through more than one in their time on the Hellmouth, but there’s always this tightness in Louis’ chest when he watches Liam head out to another battle, unsure whether or not he’s going to come back.

Unsure if this will be the last time he’ll see him and he’ll have to live with his regrets for years to come. With the thoughts of what could have happened.

100% agree with your last anons about Azoff. Last one, do you think Harry had a double agenda? Inisiating the hiatus telling they boys it would be good for all of them while secretly planning/want the hiatus for his solo career.

Also, I think harry and azoff met in 2013 and they wanted harry when the band was over. He stuck with 1d until SC or ot5 decided to go for a hiatus and he signed to jeff. I think if H had the choice he might have continued with the band under better cricumstances. If the reported resigning 1d did in 2013 is true, they originally signed a 3 album deal and then signed for another 3 album deal, then we're due for another album when the hiatus is over (unless they signed a 3+2 or a 5 album deal from the start). We don’t know. There being an album left to make is making sense to me.

Yes, Louis is no longer under a Sony label for his solo music. He is under Sony image clauses and maybe have an album left to deliver for Sony as a part of 1d. Se above.

I don't think Harry had a double agenda. I think he had a plan for life after 1d, whenever that might be. I think he was committed to 1d. He is in a relationship with Louis and was so at the time. They don't kept secrets from each other. I think his hand were forced, due to bg, and he had less agency than people think. I think they all were exhausted and wanted a break, but nobody wanted to be the one saying it to the fans. I think the only one not wanting a break was Louis. Hi Sea. Sorry to continue the topic of Niall if its boring for you and please dont feel you must answer to be polite, but the way Niall fans are behaving to us on twitter isnt nice, so I need to vent to someone with a bigger brain. They seem to think being like Harries is the way to goI'm afraid to ask one of his fans, but from the way theyre gloating Im assuming Nialls world tour is going to be a lot bigger than Louis? Its going to be all big arenas and maybe stadiums? I just dont get why theyre surprised and acting like its all some shocking validation.

This is his third album and they've all had normal to great promo pushes that Louies could only dream about. Whatever his music sounds like, Niall always gets lots of high level Tv and festival performances and shed loads of radio play and all favorable press, obviously with Sony blessing. Handed to him like Harry, just controlled and much less. He's also now been allowed regular US TV prime time promo via the Voice, and unlike Louis XF prison sentence he's actually allowed to use it to promote himself and his music. My feeling is that he's the only 1D boy who's being allowed to succeed to the GPs view as a pale echo of the big superstar, and 'proof' that Sony and HSHQ didnt sabotage the other three, its just they werent talented, except Niall in a minor way. I think its to build the 'Harry was the superstar part of superstar 1D' story that'll become 'truth' in time. And Niall's colluding by playing Harry's stooge friend to help sanitise it, and he's getting his reward.

I think Nialls music safe and boring, but a lot of people like generic, and no one can argue he's a talented musician and he has a charming persona. But I agree with the anon that under the fun surface he comes across as ruthlessly ambitious. Tbh I used to adore him and maybe thats why I'm so disappointed, but I began to be turned off a long time ago by the cynical, shameless way he uses celebrity social media and 'friendships', and the way he let his old friends swing. I guess its everyone for themselves in that industry but Niall's a survivor who does what it takes to clamber over the bodies, even if they thought they were his friends once. Niall wouldnt defy anyone powerful and decide to try to get by as a musician on guts and talent. He plays the clever game of selling out for the big rewards.

Lets face it, he only supports a true friend like Louis when there's no risk in it, only benefit for him, and it does Louis zero good. Same with Liam and Zayn. But Niall manages to appease everyone somehow and come out on top, which is a skill I guess, though not an admirable one. Maybe I'm being unfair, but that's how I see him.

So on his new tour, with all that sucking up to power and all that support and promo plus OT5 fans he SHOULD be charting high and he SHOULD be selling out a big arena tour. The miracle isn't that a Sony and Azoff approved 1D member other than Harry can sell out MSG, it's that anyone can do what Louis is doing as a blacklisted musician against Sony's interference and every industry norm, and still be unselfish enough to reach down to try to help other musicians. Like you said though, there's always the fear they'll interfere in the things Louis is still able to do. Every time he does too well and his potential is too obvious, I worry for him that there's more 'self-sabotage' on the way.

regarding louis and niall's selfie war today and seeing liam's selfie yesterday, i feel like we should settle something once and for all. we have to decide who takes selfies the best. lets go.

first up its everyone's favorite soft boyfriend, niall horan. he deserves first place, and here's why.

exhibit a. look at the composition! the emotion! the tousled hair and blue eyes and scruff! his face is in full view, he's holding the camera up at a good angle, he knows how to take selfies! a master. 10/10

exhibit b. just posted today! another example of his selfie prowess. look at the blue eyes, the angle, the smoulder. he has a cup of coffee in his hand and guitars in the background, and it paints a whole story. i'd wager niall doesnt even have a bad selfie. 100% all natural home grown baby. thats why he's number one.

anyway, onto number two. thats, you guessed it, liam payne everybody!!

starting off with this beauty. listen. this is a man that KNOWS his stuff. you just know that he has several different camera rigs and that he uses a self timer. major art student aesthetic vibes. 100/10.

and this one!!!! what a masterpiece!! he KNOWS his angles he KNOWS his emotion he KNOWS how to work the lighting. the rainbow? chefs kiss but in bold. he's just second place because i found more professional pictures on his insta than natural selfies which like, u do u baby, but not in this competition yknow? i love u mwah

so we have these selfies at first right? beautiful! reminiscent of an angel baby lamb. the curly soft hair, the composition of the picture, the angles he uses. 10/10. but THEN.

we have this one. honey baby what is u DOIN. this selfie has NO flavor. none. the angle is all wrong, the lighting is garbage, hes not even making eye contact with the camera. and its not even a square picture!! i had to dock major points for this one. 3/10. he has some good ones, and some bad ones. which is a shame because as we all know, zayn is the most beautiful human in the world by law. anyway.

next up in fourth place, we have louis tomlinson. LISTEN. before y'all start coming at me with pitch forks, it has to be said. someone's gotta be brave enough to say it and im gonna do it. louis doesnt take good selfies. do i still freak out whenever he posts another selfie? of course. do i feel my life force returning whenever he deigns to grace us with another picture of his handsome face? obviously, every time. but we HAVE to face the facts. let me show you.

Compete Against the Stars by @daggerandrose / amomentoflove (31k, M, Harry/Louis) - omg okay so this one is like ANGSTY AF and i FUCKING LOVE IT because it's one of those fics that you HOPE you have figured out, and you probably do, but also there's SO many twists and turns to it all that you just have NO idea how it's all gonna work out and omg are they gonna just ruin it all for themselves by being stupid and ahhhhh the tension of just FIGURING OUT HOW THEY GET IT ALL TO WORK OUT!!! and of course it does. hahaha but HOW??? this is a RIDE and in my mind feels like a longer fic than 31k in the best of ways, they did an amazing job of packing a LOT of world building and storytelling into those 31k.

the straight for your heart (wolfpack au) series by foreverkneeld and foundfamilyvevo (96k, T/G, Multiple or No pairings including Niall/Louis, Zayn/Liam, OT5, and Shawn/Niall) - This series is the ultimate hurt/comfort and healing pack fic series omg. it was recommended to me when i was in a super hard time and my anxiety was so bad i couldn't focus on anything. These short fics that all focused so much on healing and found family were exactly what i needed. so so soft, so lovely. I still haven't read them all because i'm saving them for when i need them. they're glorious.

when the air ran out and we both started running wild by darlingjustdont (48k, M, Nick/Louis) - OMG OKAY LISTEN THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVS. a tomlinshaw werewolf pack fic?! ahhhhhhhhh i was SO happy when i discovered this one. louis is alpha of the pack and things are... shaky, shall we say. there's a lot going on that he's worried about and then he meets nick and it's kind of enemies to lovers? okay, more than kind of. but omg the FEELS. SO. MANY. FEELS. but also danger and a;lsdgkhas;ldfkja just please read this and rave with me because i don't have many i can talk about this one with and i LOVE IT.

You Smell Like by mystic_believexx (185k, M, Harry/Louis) - i had no idea this fic was so long hahahaha wow ANYWAY louis is human, but he's always been close with harry and therefore basically a part of his pack. but then one day harry leaves and louis kind of accidentally becomes the pack alpha. even though he's human. but there's SO much more to it. there's just sooooo much with the friendship and the pack bond as well as the danger and trying to figure out what the hell is going on... it's just a LOT and one of those epic fics that i still think about even though i read it...a year and a half ago i guess. but it's amazing and i highly recommend it if the word count doesn't scare you away haha

Canyon Moon by @eeveelou / delsicle (41k, E, Harry/Louis) - this is a lion king au, made a/b/o werewolves! i really enjoyed this one a lot, actually, because i could absolutely see the parallels, but also the way it was adapted made it so it wasn't always obvious how it would all play out. it was a really interesting and cool world building as well.

The Truth I Can't Explain (Smoke and Mirrors) by @fallinglikethis / FallingLikeThis (9k, M, Harry/Louis) - ohhhhh this one is SO cool cause it's by tabby so she made it incredibly fun and fascinating to try to figure out. there's magic and mages and werewolves and feuds and they're basically on the eve of battle and holy cow it's just SO cool.

Out of the Wild by @jaerie / jaerie (22k, E, Harry/Louis) - this fic has such fun world building, which is actually a huge strength of jenna's fics and you'll hear me rave about it with all 50 of her fics that will end up on this rec list (not really 50, but ya know lol). louis is a fairly wild and undomesticated wolf and harry's from the city and they end up as roommates during the x factor process. oh my word this fic is so fun because of all the challenges they're going through PLUS the wolf side of things and just... the way they work together and navigate it all as well as falling for each other is pure gold.

Out With The Old, In With The New by, you guessed it, @jaerie / jaerie (7k, E, Harry/Louis) - listen, just. this one is smutty as hell and it's gonna take you some places that some people will be uncomfortable with, which is totally valid and fair. please be sure to read the tags and make your decision on whether or not to read accordingly, but also know that its written in a super interesting way that is also pretty amazing if you do decide to give it a shot. lol

ANYWAY. there's a REASON it was THE werewolf fic and that's because this is amazing. it sucks you in and you feel like you're truly a part of the action. it's filled with the vibe of found family and wanting to figure out what happened while also adjusting to your new life and just... so many feelings. so much angst. Because he’s definitely a ghost, this boy. At first glance he looks normal, standing there pigeon-toed in a band shirt (The Ramones, Louis can’t help but note incredulously), dark jeans, and some boots, with rings on both hands, and tattoos littering his left arm—a sleeve made of anchors and names and roses and other completely unrelated things. But he’s also a little bit translucent; if Louis focuses, he can see the outline of the furniture, the design of the wallpaper through him.

“Hi,” the boy—the ghost—says to Louis. His face shifts; somehow his dimples dig deeper into his cheeks. His eyes flit from Louis, to Niall, to Liam, and finally to Zayn, and his face goes from shocked to elated. “I’m Harry.”

At in that exact moment, standing between three of his best friends and staring at a (quite handsome) ghost, Louis can only think one thing.

“What?” Harry looked around again too, couldn’t see any doors, only knew that they must be there, somewhere. “How do you know?”

Confusion slid over Louis's features.

“Because we’ve been here before, Haz. It’s the O2.”

The show. It must be the first night of their tour. They were too late; they were out of time.

Louis is cursed after a night out with the lads and the five have just three days to figure out what happened and how to break it before Harry and Louis both lose their sanity and maybe something more. Louis can hear everything Harry thinks and Harry isn’t sure he can keep his feelings for Louis a secret from his own mind.

1/6 Larries are so disgusting. How can they explain Harry calling Jay "someone's mom" away?If he didn't remmember who took that photo he would've said someone not someone's mom. If you remmember that it was someone's mom then you remmember who took it,period. And saying that his management forced him to do it is so stupid. I remmember by the time that interview came out i was already done with Harry his whole fine line promo has been 🤮 but i gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he's

just a coward who's ok with anything and everything that his management suggests bc he wants to succeed but can't without their(and his label's) support which is already bad enough but that someone's mom comment made it very clear to me that not only does he greenlight all the shiitty things his management "suggests" but he's an active participant and sometimes these suggestions are his own. I hate Irving Azoff but even the devil wouldn't think of that. Jeff would hardly put a gun on his head to say that. There are other ways to insult Louis which they're pros at as we know. Not to mention that that interview was very edited and staged to make him look somewhat intelligent and not the stupid empty person that he is,he could've asked to cut that part out but no. That bastard,still can't believe someone can be this pathetic and disgusting. Also,following larries' logic for a moment,even if his management told him to he still could've refused. And if it's all built on sabotaging Louis' career (he's literally besties with Rob Stringer, the man who undoubtedly has a big role in Louis' past and current sabotage to the point where he wrote his album at his house and sings happy birthday to his daughter at his concert) and lying to his bandmates then who cares? Harry's too talented for that band anyway (sarcasm that man doesn't have an ounce of talent in his body. Though,i must admit he's a great businessman as in ruthelessly ambitious and is ok with anything as long as there is profit).

And let’s say Larries are right and they are “husbands.”. If Harry had the courage to refuse to insult Louis, what would Sony or Jeff Azoff do— drop Harry as an artist? Refuse to promote him? Refuse to submit him for Grammys?

Harry literally has tens of millions of dollars invested with the Azoffs. Irving Azoff created FSM FOR Harry Styles, so his son could have a springboard into the industry.

Harry Styles is the single biggest earner for Sony Music. His critical acclaim brings in more money and legitimacy. How are they going to “threaten” their cash cow?

Let’s say Sony “punishes” Harry by “punishing Louis,” as Larries ridiculously claim without any evidence.

How exactly would they “punish” Louis even more? By asking BBC Radio to play his music less than zero?

Let me start by saying how fast I finished this fic, probably in less than an hour or so. I just couldn't stop reading once I started, which I guess is the aim of every thriller writer! I love reading thrillers and this story managed to strike the perfect balance between the *thrill* and the romance. It's fast paced, and concise but at the same time it never reads as rough or unfinished.

I don't know how to articulate this but when I read that Louis was bi...that just made me happy. Most fics don't specify sexualities and I understand where they come from but being bisexual myself, it doesn't hurt to see your "idol" being represented in the same community as yourself! It's a little thing, by no means revolutionary, but it still made me very happy. 😊

Although ot5 are featured in this fic, the main focus never strays from Harry and Louis' relationship. The interactions are sweet and friendly but none of them stand out. Harry and Louis though, can best be described as love at first sight.

Louis opens his eyes –he didn’t know he had closed them- and notices Harry looking at him with that intense look again. ‘’What?’’ Louis asks, feeling suddenly, self-conscious. ‘’Nothing,’’ Harry shrugs. ‘’I just have to say; I think you’re quite lovely.’’ Louis almost coughs on the next sip.

They've known each other for a very short time, and the author made sure to put such conversations in the story that makes us aware that they both know it too- yet they do have strong feelings for each other. There's no beating around the bush, which I must say, I appreciate. There's no time for pining when you're running for your life!

Nevertheless, it's understood that the timeframe of all relationships accelerate a bit when you're put in such a situation, but the author did an admirable job at never making it seem unrealistic or too chick-flicky. My favorite line of the work sums it up perfectly :

They kiss for a long time, long enough for the sun to go down and for the sky to turn grey and white and blue. ‘’I’m going to love you so much,’’ Harry says when he pulls away. ‘’I can feel it already.’’

The smut is HOT and intimate yet managed to be playful and not awkward. I honestly loved Larry in this fic so much, it was written perfectly- they were flirtatious and curious but simultaneously protective and so comfortable with each other from the get go. I love reading established relationship fics for this reason, to skip past the initial formalities and read about this aspect of the relationship- I can't believe I found it in a zombie au but I am grateful!

He knows they think he’s pathetic, hung up on a guy he's has one proper conversation with. But Harry is not just some guy. He’s a guy who was willing to help him find his family, a guy who stayed behind on a train because Niall’s leg is weak and James’ back is bad. He’s a guy who stayed up all night to have a conversation with him over a cuppa and distracted him from the world breaking down around them.

Louis has a habit of being nervous in this fic and overthinking, and I absolutely ADORE the way Harry takes care of him and soothes his anxiety. It's just so SWEET and - ugh. Just insert an audio tape of me squealing- you get the message.

Now for the thrill part- in my opinion, there could've been a little more conflict - it seems like our characters were lucky for the main part! Despite a huge chunk of the story being Louis surviving odds to find his family- the actual meeting is kind of anticlimactic. Harry's family situation is left vague and unclear.

Louis finds it odd because he didn’t know that the train had reached a station. And yet, something about the whole thing just looks odd, like there’s something wrong; he’s shocked to note that the people outside…are blood-covered. Their limbs look distorted and yet, they don’t seem to feel it. Their eyes are cold blue and wide, with bags so heavy under them, like that of someone who’s been staying up a lot with nothing but caffeine driving their veins. Their capillaries are almost popping and broken. Some seem to have lost an eye even, empty orbs bleeding down their lids. They seem…unruly, contorted limbs flailing out of control and moving like marionettes. Louis and the people inside the train…are looked at like…prey.

However, the actual description of the zombies and the chase and everything is so charged and chilling, it will definitely give you that nervous feeling you get when you're watching a narrow chase if you read it one go. I know I say it about every fic, but what can I say, it's always true- what a wonderful piece of work and I'm so blown away by authors posting this talent on here for free. I enjoyed reading this so much!

P.S - I would love it if the author could explain the reasoning behind the title!
