That post about Peeta and Katniss (and Finnick and Annie) only being in a relationship because of trauma is an odd take. Firstly, you could say this about any pairing in the series no? Gale and Katniss /literally/ only met and bounded due to trauma and survival, once that was gone so was their relationship. If Kantniss wanted to be with Peeta because of trauma, wouldn't she have, IDK, done that from the beginning? Like glued to him from the first games on? Or better yet, why didn't she trauma bound with Gale and get into a relationship since he was the first guy to bond with her over trauma, its almost like she has thoughts, feelings, and emotions that aren't dictated by trauma. I 100% think Katniss, Peeta, Annie, and Finnick probably had a harder time getting together and being together due to each of their respective traumas. Anyway, odd take, even weirder to tag Everlark just to get a start things.

(sorry for the rant, i had to talk it out and no one IRL would care)

No worries, this is why fan spaces exist, so we can talk about fandom stuff with people who get it and aren't just (at best) polite about it.

And as always, reminder that "trauma bond" is something an abuser does to the person they are abusing of perpetuating trauma to bind that person to them. It's not two people who went through a trauma together and have a bond.

Yes, I do think just about any pairing has similar traumas to one another/went through trauma together. And of course anyone is going to be close to someone who supported them and they helped support when going through a trauma. Not to say you need trauma to build a relationship, but simply that shared trauma can forge relationships.

Nor does shared trauma decide how that relationship gets manifested. Many soldiers who go through war together consider their fellow soldiers brothers/sisters. If Katniss had no romantic feelings toward Peeta, their bond would have stayed platonic. And Peeta followed through on being a platonic support per Katniss's nonverbal language after Gale's whipping, even after she sniffed his hand and told him to stay with her. The Quell makes them both let go of concerns about a future they won't have and they veer romantic, but once again he's always following her lead.

Whereas Gale is assuming the romantic lead. He ambush kisses her when she gives no indication that's what she wants. He guilts her into agreeing to give him a chance. He gets pissy Katniss wants to bring Peeta and Haymitch to what he thought was going to be their wedding and honeymoon in the forest. And when Katniss was weeks away from going into a death arena for the SECOND time he asks her where they'd be if Peeta had been a jerk and died. In MJ everything he does is to try and one-up Peeta by acting a hero and "convince" Katniss that he loves her (like that's what their issue was???). And despite their shared trauma and all of his insistence on being romantic, she still is not attracted to him! Because she was never going to have romantic feelings for him.

And it's not like Odesta or Everlark sped-run their romances. Finnick says Annie "crept up on me" and Everlark "grew back together" in addition to the nearly two years the books take course over.

It's against etiquette for sure to put in the tag, but who really understands the mind of an internet troll?

I have got to get over my grudge against face filters or face-tuning or whatever it's called when they blur the actor's face so their skin is completely smooth and texture free and very pale and has no dimensionality.

I'm watching Light On Me, and I'm charmed by all the characters, but I keep getting distracted by the fact that none of them look like human beings. grrr. Like, it kind of fits the comic book tropey-ness of the story, but I still would prefer to see their god danged faces.

(Fun fact: Shin Woo's actor's face is the reason I started watching Light On Me in the first place. Kang Yoo Soek has a small part in Beyond Evil, and within a minute of his appearance on screen I was like, who is THAT???👀, and immediately went to MDL to see what else he was in. Turns out he was in a BL! so I decided it was finally time to check this one out. Maybe I'm just resentful about them hiding his face from me. On the other hand, Beyond Evil and Light On Me are from the same year, and he looks a decade younger in the latter, so I guess the filtering helps with that? idk, I'd prefer everyone's real faces. But I realize that with this, as in many things, I am not the target audience.)

My thoughts on Light On Me so far (im on episode 3 oops, actually it was 4): It feels like a high school romance comic book aimed at 12 year olds come to life. Which is not at all a criticism! But the aesthetic—bright, flat lighting, wide open spaces, saturated pastels and primary colors, the aforementioned face filtering—along with the trope filled, bare bones nature of the story give it this artificial feel. I don't read comic books, manga or manwha of any genre, so I could be wrong in this comparison, but it does tell like it exists outside of the real world in the same way that Disney Channel kids shows do (though not in the same world.) The characters, so far, don't feel like they exist outside of the story, not shallow, exactly, just that the rest of their lives and relationships are a vague blur, and the initial conflict—Shin Woo doesn't want Tae Kyung to join the student council!—feels like the sort of artificially induced high stakes of a kid's show. The—gasp—pratfall with a dildo.

I probably sound judgmental, but that's partly because super fluffy shows aren't my thing in general, and partly because I'm in a weird mood right now where even the real world doesn't feel all that real to me, but I reiterate, this is not a criticism. The show is creating a certain feel to tell a certain story, and (so far at least) it's doing it effectively.

And I am intrigued by the story, and the characters! Tae Kyung who has been convinced by the wise teacher to try making friends. Da On, the student president who is so kind and can't say no to anyone. Shiwoon, the class clown who can see what's happening but won't get involved. So Hee, the girl from the sister school, persistent in her three year (!) crush. And of course tsundere Shin Woo, possibly with some internalized homophobia, and who we know, based on Shiwoon's hints and the laws of Romance Tropes, must have a crush on the new boy and can't handle it.

The taundere seme is a trope I love when it works well, and loathe when it's bad, and I think it's working here for me because Tae Kyung is such a weirdo. He's no blushing maiden uke, he's blunt and doesn't care that's he's awkward, and still not sure if he wants to even bother with other human beings. It makes Shin Woo's attraction to him more specific and real, and makes me curious to see how their dynamic develops.

So even though the character don't feel anchored to any reality outside of what we see on screen, in the small slice of a tv world they do exist in they seem complex and worth getting to know.

(They also intrigue me enough that part of me wants to see these same characters and conflicts, but framed in more gritty realism style, like that of Weak Hero Class One. I think there's enough there to make it work! But that's more about my personal taste than anything else.)

edit: not that Weak Hero Class One is exactly realistic. But it's a different kind of fairy tale atmosphere. One that sometimes gets called "gritty realism."

lady gwendolyn viridience morrigan, druidess, esq.: half-elf druid, usually chaotic good, majored in botany, minored in ethically questionable usage of charm spells. tends a greenhouse that holds a portal to the feywild, the stewardship of which she was bequeathed by a very powerful archwizard and mentor and good friend, on his deathbed. she never wanted it but the choice was between her and her evil sister/s so the archwizard gave it gwen. now she uses it to (1) be the best damn florist in neverwinter (2) howl's moving castle her way away from bad fantasy tinder dates because she's a hopeless romantic and terrified of commitment. played her in dnd and bg3.

samson o'dare: human/aasimar paladin, true good, big sword and bigger shield, great with animals, has wings like a mourning dove. he worshiped chauntea as a child and then one day lathander appeared to him in the middle of a field and told him it was his holy holy duty to be a paladin of light. samson was like hell yeah i want a sword. and began adventuring. adventuring quickly proved to be far more unpleasant than he had expected and he prays to chauntea every day like "mom i'm scared come pick me up". played him in dnd and bg3.

nol barrow-bound: undead death cleric, ??? (she is extremely impressionable), sickle and staff/half-caster, uses a human skull as an arcane focus and has 1 million holy symbols on her person. used to be a hag's apprentice and then she woke up on the side of the road one day and was just like, "guess i'm an entrepreneur now". gifted alchemist, even more gifted necromancer, makes her living as an herbalist and medium, lowkey cheats on the medium part because she just tells people what they want to hear (or at least what she thinks they want to hear) but she doesn't see it as cheating because she IS contacting the dead she just isn't letting them be RUDE. collects roadkill. also kind of looks like roadkill. one time i thought "haha what if nol and samson were in an adventuring party together" and now they're tragedy-to-romance endgame lovers. played her in dnd and skyrim. she's usually my go-to for dnd oneshots :')

sigg solveig/sigourney gevaudan: human (? she's huge, there's no way she's fully human)/werewolf barbarian, will change her entire ethos if a hot girl says so, sword/axe/hammer so big it is physically impossible for people other than her to wield. tragic backstory is she contracted lycanthropy at a young age and wound up killing her familar. she went into hiding and became a fighter, a laborer, a soldier, whatever put food on her table, but eventually her lycanthropic bloodlust got hard to control and she became a hermit rather than risk killing her loved ones again. she is not smart or wise or especially clever but why would she need to be when she can crush someone's head with one hand. womanizer but her deepest wish is to get married and be a stay-at-home mom baking for her wife every day. played her in pathfinder and skyrim.

princess daisychain frances van pancypants iii: goblin, class variable but generally support/healing, true good. looks like an albino bat. raised by halflings. the sweetest, nicest, tiniest magical girl you will ever meet. completely filled with love. knows one (1) swear word. played her in dnd.

arkhemites "miette" du bäl: tiefling warlock, something evil but might go on a hero's journey idk, worships whatever tentacled space monster is native to the setting. wants to plunge the world into entropy so it can be born anew. she's noble or royal but has like 16 sisters and most of them are older. played her in starfinder.

He's mixed—Thai on his mother's side, Chinese and Japanese on his father's side

(his grandmother is Chinese and his grandfather is Japanese)

He was born in Thailand and lived there until he was ~9 years old

He moved because his parents and sister, uh. died.

His closest living relative at the time was his grandma, who lived in Japan.

His grandpa had also died (much earlier; of unrelated health causes), so it was just him and Nǎinai </3

She pretty much raised him from then on (along with some help from his cousin, but she mainly just babysat)

Because of. all of that. He speaks a total of three languages: Thai, Mandarin, and Japanese. He also has plenty of influence from all three cultures ✨

He was honestly closer with Tsunagu at UA than he was with anyone in his class.

This one's canon, but he trained with Tsunagu pretty regularly. They were pretty close.

Back to Nǎinai— Her house that she had was pretty big, with a whole garden in the back with a koi pond and a small pavilion and everything.

She lived a long time, but sadly passed sometime in Shinya's 20s. He continued to tend to the house and garden in her absence the same way they used to together.

The house had a lot of strong memories for him though, so they moved in with Tsunagu after they got together. He never sold the property or anything. Continues to care for the garden, visits regularly to clean and reminisce.

Tsunagu helps with the plants, too. He's better with the potted/indoor houseplants, while Shin'ya mostly tends to the vegetables.

In my head they are content with their lives like this (we are Ignoring canon, k?)

He actively changes the.. I'm not sure what word to use for it. Tone? Depth?... He alters his voice a little bit for his hero persona. His natural speaking voice is actually a lot lighter and not as. raspy.?

He does that because it adds to the ✨charm✨ of his reputation a bit, but it also helps keep him fairly unrecognizable when he's not on duty.

he LOVES stories. Urban legends, myths, folktales, experiences, personal gossip—anything of that sort. Nǎinai told him lots of stories when he was younger. His favorites were the ones about ninjas.

He now has a collection of books that could probably be considered a library, featuring both fiction and historical nonfiction. Most of it he keeps at Nǎinai's house, but he has some relevant stuff in his agency's office.

season 4 spoliers!!! OK so MK is a celestial monkey I'd like to lay out all the evidence my sister, My friend, and I have all figured out Starting with episode 0: ~ all the characters were clear descendants or reincarnations of the original JTTW crew even down to Westernized names except MK had no direct connection other than Monkey kings powers (and arguably initials) ~When MK was 'reborn'/survived beign trapped in DBK there were four pulses of light/musical stings with MK falling out ont he fourth pulse | ~MK's helmet has the circlet on it ~When MK was 'reborn' he was a stone egg ~Mk was the only person to lift the staff with ease Throughout season 1 there aren't much more except in episode 8 ~MK unlocks his mind surrounding him are 3 circlets with a fourth ringlike circlet pulsing from him season 2: ~LBD constantly calls MK, Monkey King, and Macaque 'Simian' and 'Monkey'

~In shadow play when Macaqye says "the hero and the warrior were like the sun and the moon" the shadows show the sun the moon and earth and then stars slowly join in. (I think the fourth monkey already exist canonically and we've seen him)

~The form MK takes the most when shapeshifting is a giant ape (not one of the celestial monkey but a monkey none the less)

Based on MK's ability to avoid death (Name any season) , his close connection to humanity (so much so he never questioned who or what he is), the fact he's a delivery boy (adept in daily life), and for yin and yang that's the only I don't have evidence for, Also design wise he has red pants. ~now there is a possibility he could be the long-armed gibbon, but the description doesn't match mk again according to the Buddha: "Seize the sun and the moon, Shorten a thousand mountains, Distinguish the auspicious from the inauspicious, And manipulate planets and stars." Idk that just doesn't fit MK though the stars and moon do work with his love of space the rest I don't know

~Final point I think we've already met the fourth monkey I think it's the mysterious figure who entered the temple at the beginning of season 4 though I can be completely wrong it'd just work if in the same season, MK is revealed to be a monkey we meet the final monkey.

no way the real moss guy in my inbox... heehe... im actually really excited to ramble about this!!! =D back when i first read hs i made many fan characters but i got an idea to make a fansession where, instead of the 12 zodiac signs it was the 22 major tarot cards..... and it kinda went from there!

because obviously 22 character session would be insane i at some point formed out 6 kids who were having The Session, and the rest of the characters were "npcs" made by sburb. but yknow, more humanlike than the carapacians, so kinda akin to the trolls. oh yea i changed some of the sburb worldbuilding for this, so i suppose its an alternate version of the game.... ;p also the session would take place around 2019.

okeeey anyways heres the players!

ester olsen (the star) is a knight of hope from sweden who's foolish and hyperactive but also very hopeful and loyal like a dog, she's internally a deviantart kid who draws exclusively on ms paint and sburb's quest for her is to become a typical hero. her land is a field with a country town inhabited by animal people.

her older brother emil (the chariot) is a rogue of breath who moves trough life very fast and always thrives to make progress by any means, and also takes care of ester... because hes awesome... his land is a giant sea of energy kind of similar to terezi's.

elio cassini (the sun) is the heir of light, he's just a really lucky boy who likes jrpgs and magic spells. he's anxious and keeps to the rules but well meaning; best friend of ester. he learns to accept the dark sides of the world instead of escaping from them. his land is an orange desert full of broken glass, ancient bones and mysteries.

elio's sister is nastia the maid of space (the empress)! she's kind of a snarky girl next door who likes art, gardening, fashion and baking but she struggles with persistence. her land is a field of giant flowers.. and frogs of course ;p

selene's the mage of void (the moon). (no surname i thought of for these two..... whoops....) she's the oldest one and also very lonely, although she isn't expressive she tends to cling to other people. she used to like weird and fascinating things, her land is a broken apart mountainous area flooded by dark water!

then selene's younger brother rasmus the prince of time (the emperor)! hes your average delinquent scriptie kid who tends to get into fights (usually with ester), but he's never completely malicious. his land is a fiery lava pool that's hard to navigate.

the goal is still to make the next universe via a frog, but theres no derse and prospit and instead dreaming just teleports your ghost self to a random location. there's still a fight between dark and light though, but this time it's the magician card (light) and the high priestess card (dark) who have their forces battling it out, which is pretty much everyone else, on a skaia stand in which is no longer a chessboard and now just a black and white planet. they're also the final bosses in place of king and queen, and they get stronger the session goes on so the party needs to act fast!!!

idk how to summarise the whole duration of the session to be honest because too much stuff gets involved.. but basically they do make it out in the end! (with some major character deaths though... hehh..)

well uhh this makes wayy more sense in my head lol, but i hope you like it! =D i have some drawings but i havent really made anything properly rendered that has all of them... also i would love to hear about your fansession!

The Legend of the Seven Heroes

A millennia ago, the world was threatened by the Dread Queen and her relentless army of Termites. In the face of certain doom, Wagnas, a devout priest, and Noel, a formidable and skilled fighter, summoned the finest warriors from across the lands to battle.

To combat the overwhelming army of the Dread Queen, the Seven Heroes resorted to forbidden magic, a power which allowed them to merge with the souls of other creatures, absorbing their strength. Owed to this magic, the Seven Heroes emerged victorious, securing the salvation of the world.

However, the very power that had saved the world soon became a source of apprehension among the other ancients. Fearful of the assimilation abilities wielded by the Seven Heroes, they soon became convinced that the Seven would someday turn their potent abilities against those they once saved. They sealed the Seven Heroes away in another dimension, condemning them to an existence beyond the realms of time and space. The heroes, betrayed by the very people they had saved, vowed to one day return and exact vengeance upon the world that had shunned them.

The one who came up with the idea to band the seven heroes together. A talented swordsman with a thirst for knowledge, a typical knight of chivalry. His best friend, Sazgaar and love interest, Orieve, were opposed to the Heroes being Banished.

His goal is to acquire all knowledge in the universe.

Wagnas' cousin and a laid back carpenter. He wields a spear and has a great affinity for the ocean. Likes to surf. Has a sweet fling with a narwhal at one point.

Rocbouquet

Noel's younger sister. In love with Wagnas, she longs to impress him and to prove herself as a competent warrior to her older brother. She can charm most any man to her will.

A cunning lord who is a master manipulator and strategist. He had a significant following before joining the Seven Heroes. Wields puppets.

His goal is to shape life to his wishes.

A strong mercenary whose goal is to get stronger. He joined the Seven Heroes to fight strong opponents. Likes meat.

His goal is to be the strongest.

He absorbs large monsters and beasts.

Kzinssie

Turned up uninvited to join the seven heroes. The other heroes deem him annoying, but Noel takes pity on him and allows him to join their ranks.

His goal is to take leadership of the Seven Heroes

* The stage show implies that even after their true forms are defeated, they will again be reborn after another 1000 years. Given that a lot of their later interpretations are based on this show, I'm taking this as canon.

TMNT 2012 RANT!! LEORAI SHIP RANT!!

Something I've realized while reading Wattpad (especially the old TMNT x readers don't judge me ok anyways), is that people who actually IN REAL MF TIME SHIPPED (or currently ship) LEO AND KARAI! Like I'm sorry but just no. Just because she's human (at first and even after she's mutated) doesn't make it ok because they're literally siblings.

Like yeah, Karai is Splinter's blood relation whereas the turtles aren't because Leo and his brothers are adopted. HOWEVER!, they are still related in a sense. It's the principle of the matter. If your family/parent(s) adopted a person into their family as their own, YALL ARE NOW LEGALLY RELATED/SIBLINGS!

I do not care if the adoption was before the turtles were mutated. The adoption is still valid. They were adopted so Splinter then became their guardian or PARENT in a sense even before mutation. Splinter still considers and also calls the turtles HIS SONS even after mutation. In turn, they also consider Splinter their FATHER! But then again, and I can’t even believe i’m actually gonna say this-

and here y’all go in comments smh. No i’m not defending his actions or feelings towards Karai. I’m simply just explaining why I feel like he shouldn’t be blamed too harshly for this whole incest ship. I’m going to go about this using logic and maybe a bit of “physiology” (don’t @ me I use that term loosely). I’m going to be mostly referencing Season 1 for this.

Leo has spent all his life in the sewers. When he meets Karai he gets feelings that he’s never felt before. It’s foreign to him. When you spend most of your life in isolation just doing the same routine over and over, with the same people, in the same place, feeling the same feelings, that part of your life is considered your norm. But when he meets Karai? A different feeling appears. She presents something thats new to him. Sure there’s April too but he considers April an ally/friend because she didn’t give him any new feelings of affection or love towards him. Friendship isn’t something new. The way Karai treats him, due to her being female also, is new to him. Especially since April never treated him like that.

If you find something new, you WILL be curious. Leo felt a feeling for Karai and was all like, “Woah! This feeling. I like it! So therefore, I wanna go after this feeling and the person who makes me feel it!” Leo became curious and wanted to experience this feeling more. If you experience in a sense, “true love”, you will try to go after it (in your own way ofc). So as a result, Leo becomes somewhat infatuated with Karai and the way she makes him feel. He might even see this “feeling” as unique. Even more unique due to Karai being a human girl.

Leo hasn’t been exposed to society and their Do’s and Dont’s. Especially the family structure kind. Now some of y’all are probably like: “But they have TV! Video games! and Donnie has the internet and computers! They should’ve known.” Sorry to say this dude, but maybe that’s not entirely the case. Look at it this way: Leo only watches Space Heroes. That show typically wouldn’t show many family structures or how incest and it’s culture is thought of. Hence, the reason why he may think it isn’t bad. Because HES NEVER BEEN EXPOSED IT. Especially not in a negative light. Also, he’s never had a female family member before. He doesn’t really know you’re not supposed to be feeling like that about your sister. But take that as you will.

Leo is kinda naive and inexperienced when it comes to love. Let’s face it, he’s been sheltered from the world most of his life just training. Anything he did learn was from TV and it was all probably very very wrong.

Splinter flopped when it came to this. He didn’t necessarily condemn it. And neither did April??That’s it. (Now idk if they did or didn’t because honestly I wouldn’t know since i haven’t watched the show in a while. Just LMK in the comments.)

But about Karai though…

I feel like she would’ve know if incest is wrong or not. She’s been exposed to more media and social norms than him and should know better. Also she kinda came onto him and exposing those feeling. Yeah she didn’t know they were related either but at some point the ship should’ve just stopped after they found out. So with being said-

Is it really their fault or is it the writers?

At the end of the day, they’re all fictional characters (sadly). At the end of the day, they’re not really in control of their actions or speech, the writers for the show are. So can we really blame them as individual characters? No. But we can blame the poorly written ship that they didn’t consider how well it would age.

So…that’s my rant. Hope you can agree on some points or even have a different opinion on some of these things I said. I don’t mind different opinion because at the end of the day, we’re our own person.

mike looks at will. “she’s not saying anything.”

will laughs a little. “no shit, sherlock.”

“i just feel like…” mike looks down in worry. “she usually has answers for this type of thing. i wish she’d at least be willing to tell me. maybe i could help. i know i’m not much of a hero, but…”

“stop, mike. it’s not personal. you know it’s not, you just said it yourself. she’s never… lost… like this before.”

mike goes to approach el, but will grabs his hand on a reflex, pulling him back. “mike, you can’t,” he says a little too loudly, and jonathan and nancy notice the interaction, so he lowers his voice. “she needs space right now.”

“and you think you know her better than me?” mike looks down and realizes his hand is still in will’s. he slowly pulls it away.

“no, it’s not that, it’s just… she’s my sister, and living with her this past year, going to school together, i’ve realized… she’s just like me.” will sighs… he can’t believe he’s doing this for mike and el again. “remember when i would only tell you when i could feel the mind flayer… One?” mike nods. “i opened up to you because you didn’t treat me like i was different because of it. but el, you… you treat her like she’s different because of her powers. she doesn’t want that. she’s special, but she wants… she doesn’t…”

“doesn’t want to be treated like a superhero,” mike says, face stoic, not looking at will but instead watching the red lightning flash.

“i—that’s not what i said, exactly.”

“no, no, i get it.” mike breathes in and looks at will, and will swears he can see a glint of accusation in his eyes. “but wait. in the van, close to nina, didn’t you say—that i make her feel special, and she likes that? she needs me?”

a voice bellows from behind them—hopper. “el, everyone, let’s go back to the cabin. we’ll make a plan there. if we try to face this now we won’t be prepared.” he takes his and joyce’s intertwined hands and gestures back up the hill. el is hesitant to follow, eyes flitting between her dad and the end of the world, but eventually she does, and the rest trail behind them.

mike shoots will a searing look before following jonathan and nancy up the hill.

ok wait but lets revisit camp camp tim drake real quick bc i have Thoughts:

i was debating between photography camp and like,, hero camp? but the only visual element of hero camp i was sure of was blanket cape, and space kid already has one of those sooooo. photography camp.

i wanted him to start at camp pre-figuring out batmans identity so at the time of the camp camp show hes 8

he signed himself up for camp bc he was bored of hanging out alone in his house during break

he insists on returning every year, even post-adoption

idk what the age brackets for summer camp normally are but ive decided camp cambell is 6-18 which seems unrealistic but shhhhh

tim stops going at 17 bc hes a businessman now :( so he attended for 9 years

the campers figure out hes robin kind of slowly over a couple years (max was first ofc)

in this specific au im going with a “well meaning but distant” kind of batfamily

tim thinks of them as more,, friendly coworkers than “family” (except cass of course. cass and tim are brother and sister no matter what idgaf) so tims much more. polite? stiff? with them.

and tim was just like “i have a lot of friends at photography camp, pls let me go.” and they were like “haha ok nerd”

so what im saying is when videos or photos or stories or whatever the fuck come out about tims time at camp (full of cursing, arson and physical violence) the bats are. Shocked.

if i ever set a story in this au itd probably be pretty far post-camp camp when tims like. 19? and itd follow the batfam slowly figuring out the Wild Shit tim did at camp and how feral tim is naturally, and realising how strained their relationship is

Bakugo,Sato,Sero,Awase,Kinoko - cooking

Shinsou,Bakugo,Deku,Ibara,Kuroio,Manga - art

Jirou,Tokoyami, music

Something about Manga in art class with Deku and Manga thinks that Deku's drawings are so cool

Idk that much about class 1-B so mostly did my thoughts about class 1-A.

A lot of them, I think would try to take courses that'd be beneficial to their quirk so Shinsou; psychology, Denki; welding, Ochako; physics, Momo; chemistry.

Yosetsu reminds Denki of Kirishima and Bakugou a lot, so Denki appreciates being paired up with him on builds. Yosetsu usually has to remind him to put on his helmet. Later becomes comfortable around Denki to jokingly weld a needed tool to the table.

Mina would audition for the lead roles but is stuck type-casted as the manic pixie dream girl characters or characters with bubbly personalities but a tragic past. Mina also helps out behind the scenes, painting backgrounds for sets.

Kaibara can be found in the darkroom, developing the photos he took between rounds during the Sports Festival. Eventually finding enough students who were interested in photography to create a yearbook club for U.A.

Bakugou seems like he'd be a history buff, but not in the WW2 red flag manner. His areas of expertise being radiation accidents, old Hollywood, & the space race. It's bad enough to where Kirishima at times will slap his hand over Bakugou's mouth to shut him up.

Agree that Jirou would do music, learning all the instruments she can to the point she'd have the ability to run a one person band. Ends up being able to play things by ear after teaching herself perfect pitch.

Kirishima takes geography, being a goat at GeoGuessr. It's helped him figure out what jobs he could pursue if he were to retire or decided being a pro-hero wasn't for him. Discovered that it's one of those fields where there's an equal ratio of quirkless to those with quirks.

Kinoko would take biology, mainly participating in U.A's gardening club. Researching mushrooms that can aid in soil growth and composting. It gives her an opportunity to study her own quirk in application that isn't exactly battle focused. Ibara aids in running the club, letting her choose which types of climbing plants to incorporate in the garden.

Iida takes all the math classes he can get his hands on, highest being calculus. Loves whenever his peers come to him to ask questions about the homework problems they're struggling on. He doesn't outright say the answer but will walk them through it, even if they're not in the same math class.

Todoroki's favorite class of the day is Literature, especially when the assigned book is an old classic. He find solace in the words as it brings back positive memories from when his older brother taught him how to read and made little puppet shows to go along with the children's book. Prefers cheesy romance novels, the Brontë sisters being his go-to.

Hey y'all, just got back from watching the rest of manlybadasshero's omori lets play and i thought i'd share some of my thoughts about the game! (NEEDLESS TO SAY, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!)

So let's get one SUPER ULTRA MEGA BIG thing out of the way first, i would've 100% enjoyed my experience a lot more if i wasn't such a huge scatterbrain and spoiled the big twist at the end for myself. Though in my defense i kinda wasn't expecting the game to get so popular so quick when it first came out, i first heard of the game through manly and i thought it was just another obscure indie game like what he always plays. Aside from that though....I LOVED IT!!!!! It tugged at my heartstrings with it's accurate portrayal of mental illness and the heartwarming moments between sunny and his friends, it really reminded me of my own childhood in a lot of ways. I've found myself relating to all the characters in some sort of way, especially aubrey. Idk....just the way she lashed out on others throughout the game really spoke to me in a weird way......either that or it's just because i like rebellious characters in general (the fact that she has a pet bunny is a plus for me, i love bunnies!)

Ngl, i don't cry to video games often....i'm pretty sure the only games i've ever cried to are undertale and pokemon sword but even then, i was crying about pokemon sword because i was proud of myself for completing the game....and honestly, i'm glad omori is one of those games that make me emotional like that...even if i already knew sunny killed mari, even if i already knew basil killed himself in one of the endings. Though that could also be because my dog wouldn't shut the fuck up while i was watching the last few episodes and i was just stressed out about that

If i had to pick: i feel like i prefer headspace over real world, i was an undertale kid back in the day so i love me some quirky characters and fun worlds! Though tbh i feel like omocat WANTED her players to like headspace more since she explicitly said at one point that she specifically wanted to make omori a game so that people would be able to FEEL what sunny was feeling (that's the best way i can explain it i guess) that being said; i'd say my favorite characters are aubrey, spaceboy and recyclepath. I've already said what i've wanted to say about aubrey earlier but aside from that, i think she's really cool and VERY me-core! Same goes for spaceboy, i'm a huge sucker for bright colors and space-themed characters. Not to mention recyclepath is a really unique character, i've never seen a character based ENTIRELY on recycling before! Plus his coat and glasses remind me a LOT of oliver tree and i mean....hey, i like songs like alien boy and life goes on lmao

Ngl while i DID get the endings spoiled for me, there was still a lot of stuff that was a HUGE surprise for me! Like BRO I HAD NO IDEA KEL AND HERO HAD A BABY SISTER!!!! I mean....i DO vaguely remember someone mention sally in a youtube comment section but i had no idea what they were talking about and i was kinda just confused (iirc i may have even thought that kel and hero having a sister was just a weird dream i had) but i mean hey....as the youngest sister of 3 siblings who was born when my mom was in her 40's myself, i appreciate the representation! /hj

I actually first got into omori because a good friend of mine was into it, it started when he changed his pfp on discord to basil and we had a really short conversation about the game afterwards. A while later i saw an omori edit in my youtube rec and i thought "oh yay it's that game my friend likes! Let's watch it!" And the rest, as they say, is history! Dunno why the fuck it took me a whole ass year to finish the damn playthrough though

Speaking of which, i DEFINITELY wish that manly showed the hikkikomori route bosses in his playthrough. Seeing thoses cutscenes of the slime girls creating roboheart, mutantheart and perfectheart REALLY got me pumped to see the boss fights! Oh well....

All in all, omori is a SPECTACULAR game and i'm glad i decided to check it out! 9/10!

If you wrote a Dick Grayson story, what would the basic plot be?

I have like a couple diff fics I’m writing rn but the basics are :

Tony Zuccos kids are in danger-he’s in jail and their mom is extremely ill but Tony can take them to safety in Italy with his contacts away from the mob here so Dick grappling with his oath of there being no orphans and that including his children-breaks him out- Dick reflects on his views of redemption and worth and deals with his guilt about how he does think about Tony differently than other crooks and he grapples with his own hypocrisy while fighting goons-I haven’t decided yet if Huntress or random mob people or the bat family come to try and stop Zucco from fleeing but either way Zucco thinking he’s been betrayed attacks Dick and Dick let’s him and they ask him why he let him hurt him and escape and Dick finally admits that had he raised his hand even once against him he just wouldn’t of stopped. Idk I just think it’d be an interesting character study and I want Bruce to be a part of it because I want to highlight the differences there but I haven’t worked out all the kinks yet

Dick having recently reconnected with his moms family and wanting to do some community work opens a Roma Cultural center and he talks about his family and their importance in their community and legacies in art,music, ect and superhero’s comes to support it and talk about their own experiences (Zee, Tora, and Cindy esp) with their own little sections about them and his family who definitely know set up a section on the legacy of Robin which is introduced by I haven’t decided by the a titan or like Superman but Dick grapples with his legacy and the fact that looking at all the children who became sidekicks, heroes because of him and how he’d never choose it-but it’s his now and idk it ends with him (Nightwing) training a bunch of young heroes in Haven or wherever (paralleled to Dick giving classes at the culture center)

Au where he gets stuck in space and falls in love with Kory and they become like space pirates to help with the rebellion against her sister.

Okay the ending of Dark Phoenix saved it from being a terrible movie. Honestly it was pretty great

I went from hating Jean Grey and not understanding her to feeling for her and loving her and then being sad when she died.

There are a lot of things I wish but overall considering the focus of the film is Jean and her identity, who she is and whether or not she is what people see her as is the core of the film so focusing on other loose ends the X-Men Alternate timeline left would be detracting from the film and would just be random even if fans want Magneto to have moments with Quicksilver... though idk I think the director could’ve found a way to connect that plotline into the Jean plotline especially with Magneto wanting to kill Jean. Hell even referencing Wanda would be great to with Quicksilver seeing Wanda in Jean and also being friends and not wanting Jean to die and to see his father wanting to kill Jean because of her powers would break Quicksilver’s heart because what if he’s like that with his own sister, right?

I mean the lack of Peter made me sad. He just had one great scene in the beginning and then he gets decommissioned all because Jean made his slip on a board.

At least we see him make a quip in the end but seriously I wish we saw more of him.

And also wish we saw more dimension on Magneto’s character. They wrote him as just a one-note crazy character who would go for revenge on anyone who harms someone he loves, which is true but in the beginning when he meets Jean he says he realized that his pursuit of revenge hurt the people he loves

AND FOR SOME REASON THE WRITERS DIDN’T THINK THIS WAS A GOOD TIME TO BRING IN THE PETER BEING MAGNETO’S SON LOOSE END THEY HAD IN THE LAST MOVIE!!!???

I mean what a great way to show how his pursuit of revenge again hurts the people he love

And you know I get not wanting to put Wanda in the movie what with her power being a lot and also the MCU owning her, but she would’ve been a great foil to Jean’s character... though at the same time if they can’t have her in the X-Men series, at least the reference to her character and her bond with Peter would’ve been enough maybe. Or even focus on the X-Men team’s friendship and their bond with Jean

But no... everyone is so quick to demonize Jean all because she blows up especially after this whole blowing up comes after an accident in space that should’ve rendered her dead!!!

This film was disappointing to say the least until the very end where it saves itself.

The one thing it fixes and does better than Last Stand was having Xavier realize how wrong he was. He, at least, aside from Jean became a pretty central character who evolved by the end of the series though he seems more cynical than the beginning sadly.

And Erik coming in to cheer him up was very sweet. I get now why people call it the Paris Proposal. I truly am so for Erik taking Charles to his island and them living together as a couple finally lol. Charles needs a break from trying to be the hero or the leader of the X-Men, the group of heroes that saves humanity when they need it the most. I think also he realized how much he was changing himself in order to be accepted. The President changing his personal access number was a wake-up call to how humans react to one slightest misstep from the X-Men and I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be to keep up a facade and have to constantly prove that you aren’t dangerous.
