i love mr benedict so much. hes this wholesome kind mentor figure and hes also a huge bitch. hes just this really nice sweet little guy and also thinks the height of humor is a little girl being mean to him. hes very polite and also thinks people being snarky little shits (whether that’s him to his friends or. pretty much anyone to him) is the funniest thing on the planet.

i don’t think shirou is the type of person to make dad jokes (simply because that’s not their sense of humour), so naturally that role is taken up by pingua, who will insert “wingman”, “on the fly” and “birds of a feather” into any conversation through extreme means. the fabled “uncle jokes.”

Adair is a pretty happy guy on the outside. He has his hurts like everyone does, and some still bother him now, but most people wouldn't know it.
That is, unless they take the time to get to know him on a personal level and see the bittersweet sentimentality when asked about his child's other parent, or the way his body language closes off when asked about his own history before he became an adventurer and botanist.
Given his past, it would be easy for Adair to be bitter, and he did go through phases where he let those feelings weigh too heavily on himself and consume him. Even years later, sometimes late at night those hurts will still flare up, but a cup of chamomile tea or hot chocolate will help soothe the aches.
So, his positivity is intentional, genuine, and the result of a lot of hard work. It's not that he's choosing joy - it's uncanny to be joyful all day every day. He's choosing hope and love, and those things make it easier to find contentment.
