#he should've been just unhinged for three seasons

I wish we got a scene in the show where Darkling strangles and kills Vasily with his shadow powers...except he does this without moving a muscle and he looks slightly bored while doing this because he's absolutely fed up with the monarchy and being treated like a second class citizen that he's just like "fuck it, Genya killed the king, I'm going to kill Vasily. For fun." They already made him an unhinged cartoonish villain in season 2, they should have let him go all the way.
Honestly, Vasily's death was so immemorable I couldn't say how it happened in the show at all.
Which sucks, because when you have the "villain" do the dirty work for your "heroes", at least make it look ✨spectacular✨!
To use this ask to ramble a bit about him in general- I have three points I'm strongly upset about, regarding Vasily:
Nikolai should've been the one to dispose of him. I want the "better" choice for the Throne to face the reality of the powerful being unwilling to let go of their power, even though they don't intend to take on responsibilities tied to it. I don't care if he'd have to kill or otherwise incapacitate his brother, but Nikolai should be the one working for the prize.
Nikolai should have died at the end of Siege and Storm and Vasily should have led the investigation and frame Alina. I want ossified monarchy vs. newborn religious cult face-off!
I'll never forgive them for recasting the perfect bored spoiled Heir from season one. I don't care about the real-life explanation- this was the cunt I've always imagined!

It had been a stressful season so far for the boys, as every match weekend dampened morale more and more. As a team physio, you bore witness to this firsthand. It was more personal when you saw your boyfriend, Alejandro, struggling with it.
He had been at the club for about a year and felt that he wasn't doing anything. You had tried to talk to him, tell him it was still too early to judge his performance but he barely listened. Much as you loved his dedication to his job, it's hold over him frustrated you.
That weekend, the team made its way to the mereyside for the match against Everton. Historically, you should've been optimistic about the forthcoming match but it was like you were dreading it.
The match started off well, with both sides having enough chances to score, but frankly, it could've give either way.
That's when it happened, however. You turned away to speak to your supervisor about something when the entire stadium erupted into cheers. Your confusion gave way to joy when you realised that it was a goal for United.
One that was scored by none other than Alejandro Garnacho.
You immediately stood and cheered with everyone else as tears filled your eyes.but when you caught his eye, he smiled at you as kissed the tattoo of your name on his arm, dedicating the goal to you.
The rest of the match went on with everyone feeling a lot more hopeful for a win. And two goals later, you were returning to Manchester with three more points under your belt.
On the bus ride back, half of they team was either asleep or too drunk to be aware of anything beyond their arms reach. This gave you an opportunity to be with your boyfriend without anyone noticing.
"how do you feel?" You ask, wanting to know what's on his mind.
"more confident than I did four hours ago, that's for sure," he replies as he runs his and through your hair and kisses your forehead. You lean further into him.
"you are a good player, alejandro. I don't know why you doubt yourself," you say, seriously. "Today just proves that. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you."
He smiles at your words, grateful for them and for you.
"gracias, mi amor. I don't know what I'd do without you. I love you," he whispers as he holds you closer.
You smile to yourself as you lean against his chest, eyes droopy with sleep.
I think we are in particular need of this one after what the fuck was that Burnley game???? It's like when you remind United of how much progress we make, they just want to take it back to zero. Anyway, I'm stuck with this until tennis starts again. Apologies for not writing sooner and for writing shit. I'm going through it.

Okay okay okay, Rebels thoughts:
I think Kanan and Ezra are the best depiction of a mentor and student in the whole series. The movies never have enough time to really develop that relationship, and even in the other long running cartoon Ahsoka felt more like an intern than a student most of the time
Kanan in general is one of the most compelling Jedi, because he carries this very real self-doubt about how good of a teacher he can be. He's very much not a strict adherent of the Jedi code, and I think that makes him a better teacher and a better friend because he allows himself to care. His development after he's blinded into someone more centered and reserved was good, and he didn't give up what made him him in that process. I do think it probably shouldn't have been so easy for him to overcome his lack of sight, but I do appreciate that even with the force he still has to adjust to things, like not being able to see distant objects that others easily can
Zeb very easily could've been a grating character, but I think they dodged that by making him a caring person under the prickly exterior. He takes responsibility when he messes up, and he knows how to turn it off when it's not the time
Sabine! I heard some pretty mixed stuff about her before I started the show but I'm not sure why? I think her arc of coming to terms with how she was tricked into doing something that hurt her people really landed, especially since she wasn't an adult who should've known better like most scientists who inadvertently build horrific weapons. Another W for Mandalorians
Chopper is truly unhinged
Hera is good, but I think she probably needed a couple more arcs! She's the glue that holds the team together, but she also feels the least developed out of all of them.
The inquisitors were fine, they felt like more of a real threat than most antagonists in the clone wars but were really just completely flat
Darth Vader though. God. Not only is this the best he's ever looked but he really does feel like this unstoppable force when he gets a walker dropped on him and just shrugs it off. He's used sparingly and it is weird how he doesn't ever show up again after season 2, but I think he's used really well for the time he is there
Speaking of, the buildup to Ahsoka and Vader's confrontation is. so good. She knows deep down who he is, but can't bring herself to believe it until she sees his fave for herself, because how could the person she trusted and admired be capable of that? And he wouldn't be, but it's like Vader keeps saying -- Anakin is dead. Any issues I have with this are less the show's fault and more RotS's for making Anakin's characterization feel like nonsense, so I'm not holding that against it
I'm not sure if they planned it from the start because he feels very 1 dimensional in the first season but Kallus actually had a competently handled defector arc? Like one where they laid the foundation and made it believeable? Hux could never.
Thrawn is great, obviously. He's got such a threatening presence that you just know the air gets colder when he walks into the room. He's got a respect for the rebels and the people the empire is subjagating that nobody else seems to, but rather than making him less of a threat it only makes him more dangerous! I think they needed to push him just a tiny bit further, give us just a bit more of a glimpse behind the curtain to really make him fully three dimensional, but what's there is good nonetheless
It's cool to see the force at work outside the main factions in the form of Bendu and the Lothwolves! We're always told the force permeates everything but we're rarely shown it in a way where it genuinely feels like a natural part of the world
I do not like the World between Worlds. Something like that needed more buildup, and to just say "time travel exists!" and then shove it into a corner forever 2 episodes later feels like wack pacing. If it was a contrivance to bring Ahsoka back I'd get it, but they already showed her alive after that fight so it just felt pointless? It also could've explained why she wasn't involved in the original trilogy at all, but it didn't do that either. It did help Ezra process his grief but there are other ways that could've been done. Also wild that the Mortis family was relevant again. Anyways, I think it totally messed up the pacing of the endgame devoting episodes to this.
Maul was more engaging here than he's ever been, but it sort of felt like they didn't know what to do with him? His role as a foil to Kanan was interesting, but his story ended so abruptly that I'm not quite sure what the point was.
Rex c: That's my guy! Him being around facilitated some very good closure for the clone war (the in universe event), but I would've been happy just having him around even if it hadn't.
Ezra has probably the most real feeling brush with the dark side out of any Jedi -- he wants to protect hus planet and the people on it, and doesn't care where the power to do that comes from, or the toll it will take on him. That's real! That's powerful! He deals with loss, and pain, and grief in a very human way, but he holds on to compassion the whole time despite it, because he remembers what it felt like for someone to look out for him and wants to make sure everyone else can feel that too
Thanks for reading my dissertation

How i'd improve Isabella (as a person who likes unhinged, dangerous women)
So my problem with Isabella is that she wasn't at all likable. For example, Kristen wasn't really that interesting, but she didn't really do anything wrong - she just tried to live her life
And then, let's say, Barbara, while she's done some horrible shit, DAMN was it entertaining to watch. Isabella tho? She was just a regular woman who was abusive to her boyfriend. A bad person and a boring character.
So the first and the most obvious way is to remove the abuse and just make her a boring girl who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but..... where's the fun in that, right?
So, what if, we made her WORSE instead?
I think the writers should've leaned into her obsession with Ed more, kinda like Myrtle but even more dangerous and with more relevancy and drama.
So. Get this. Season three - Oswald's first attempt to kill her FAILS, however she quickly realized it was Penguin who tried to get rid of her. But, she knows that if she told Ed he wouldn't believe her, at least not yet. So, she plays the long game instead.
She tries to show Oswald that Ed is hers and hers alone, almost showing their relationship off to him. I imagine there could be a scene where they're all eating dinner together and Isabella and Oswald are both being snarky and passive aggressive, and Oswald says something that makes her cry and she puts a whole show of being insulted by Oswald, so Ed comforts her and is mad at Oswald. And she could continue doing things like that, driving Ed and Os apart, taking Edward all for herself.
And then, maybe she invites Oswald somewhere or they're just left alone together - doesn't matter, but once they're alone she tries to kill him. Oswald, of course, fights back and kills her for real this time. Ed, having been manipulated by Isabella, still tries to kill him and Oswald still confesses his love to Ed, only a little bit later.
I don't know where Barbara, Tabby and Butch fit into all this but it's not about them. Idk I just wish Isabella was more of a character. I realize my suggestions don't explain why she looks exactly like Kristen, but if Gotham's actual writers couldn't be bothered, neither can I

Hey saw you rb and i wanted to ask about your fics! Is there one you are working on currently :o?
-cupsmp
Hey, Cup! :D I have three WIPs that I'm developing into longfics at the moment.
The first is Gone Away, which is a c!Tubbo-centric intricate longfic exploring an AU where c!Punz never shows up to the Disc War Finale. c!Dream kills Tubbo in the Trophy Hall, but then decides he hasn't run out of use quite yet and brings him back. :)
I've been planning the story out since the Disc War Finale premiered, and it's quickly becoming the longest work I've ever written. This next chapter is going to be kickstart the turning point of Act I, and I'm so excited to write it. This fic is my pride and joy, and it's my favorite I've ever written.
My second fic is A Warden's Secrets (Are Too Tough To Hide). It's another Bad Ending for the Disc War Finale; however, this time it's a c!Sam-centric fic that focuses on c!Tommy's time as the prisoner in Pandora's Vault.
Currently, I'm editing Chapter 2 and hope to have it out this week. Like Gone Away, this is a story I've had planned since the Disc War Finale aired, but it took a full year to hash out the details and separate it enough from Gone Away to allow it to flourish into its own fic. I'm ecstatic to reveal the plot twist that kicks off the start of Act II; I've set down breadcrumbs of foreshadowing since the Prologue, and the few people who know the twist have lost their minds. /pos It's going to be great. :]
My final fic is Pandora's Locked Tight (Elpis Is Never Getting Out). It's a S4 c!Sam-centric fic where he respawns in the prison after his death, and c!Dream decides to show him what Pandora's Vault always should've been: c!Tommy's house of horrors.
I've had this general concept since c!Tommy was first locked in the prison, and while it shares the same dynamics as A Warden's Secrets, I love exploring how they've changed since late Season 2. It's a nice break from the in-depth lore I've built up for both of my other fics. (I also just love writing unhinged c!Dream. He's terrifying.) I currently only have two chapters out, but I plan to work on the third after I update Gone Away. I like to rotate through my works so I don't burn out on them. :]
I love talking about my fics, so if you have any questions about them, feel free to ask!
