LGBT+ discourse on this website is so wild to me because we are in the midst of an international moral panic about gay people existing, with countless anti-LGBT+ laws being passed in countless different countries. One of the biggest social platforms on the Internet was bought by a raging transphobe last year and has become more and more hostile to the LGBT+ community as time goes on. Now, more than ever, would be the time to stand together. As like, an actual community

But yeah, let's go argue over who can use what words and pronouns because it's somehow harmful for a gay man to use she/her pronouns. Let's go treat aces/aros like they're "less LGBT+" for some fucking reason. Let's argue about which mspec sexualities are and aren't "valid" instead of letting people identify how they want. Let's go tell some bi lesbians to kill themselves because apparently they are Solely Responsible for creepy, entitled cis men harassing other lesbians.

Let's not focus on actual issues that the community has internally, like racism or ableism. Let's not focus on the fact that gay people are literally being murdered. Gay people identifying in any way that might require the use of a braincell to understand are obviously the REAL problem in the LGBT+ community and the REAL threat to LGBT+ rights

i found some old queerified marauder headcanons, basically just about what i thought they would be in labels and all. i wanna share that with the world

James is gay, and is with Regulus.

Regulus is bisexual and polyamorous, so he has two partners, one is James and one is a girl. also, Regulus uses he/they pronouns.

Remus is genderqueer (AFAB), and is bisexual. he uses they/he pronouns, and they’re with Sirius.

Sirius is a transguy, and is demisexual and pansexual. Sirius also uses he/they pronouns.

Peter is a demiboy (AFAB), and uses he/him pronouns. he’s also oriented aroace, demipanqueerplatonic, and ambiamorous (with a preference for polyamorous relationships). he doesn’t have any partners yet, though.

Marlene is a lesbian, and is in a relationship with Avery (an OC of mine), Regulus’s other partner.

Avery (full name: Avery Clayton) is genderfae (AFAB), and uses they/she pronouns. they’re bisexual and polyamorous.

then there’s one last OC of mine, Cosmos Lovegood. he’s a demiboy (AMAB), and uses he/it pronouns. he’s straight, and has a partner.

two. i a mcurrently reading a fanfiction that is the most play by play of a fanfiction that could ever be done. there's plucky Girl Best Friend. There's slutty Guy Friend who's like thats whats up love is love. what do you mean you're not dating. theres "so that just happened." and dated references . and mixtapes. it is Every Fanfiction. and. i think i am realizing. the reason that i never read plotted fanfiction is because most of the time its this. and it sucks. ive speent the last 100 pages going. ok. and when is it going to get fucked up. one of the characters is #SoNeurotic that he goes to therapy 4 times a week and is on antidepressants but he hasn't said something unforgivably cruel even once? if this was destiel fanfiction* there may not be any overarching conflict but at least ONE of them would be one. unmedicated. TWO. crazier than all get out. THREE. the most closeted man this world has ever seen. FOUR! have the sickest family background invented.

*passable destiel fanfiction. a level above bad and a level below good will hit this mark. good will also obviously hit this mark but the point i am making is that it's a fairly low bar that many destiel fanfictions leap over.
