Shatabhisha & The Rahuvian Urge to Lie
In the light of several of you guys telling me about your experiences with Shatabhisha nakshatra natives who were pathological liars and overall terrible people. I thought I'll do my research 🤪😌and what I found astounded me.
Shatabhisha is ruled by the planet Rahu, which is known for its mysterious and unconventional nature. Rahu is associated with the shadow, the unknown, and the supernatural. In Vedic astrology, Rahu represents desires, ambitions, and illusions. It can bring both good and bad results, depending on its placement and the overall horoscope. Therefore, the lord of Shatabhisha can bring a mix of energies and influences, such as intuition, creativity, eccentricity, and spiritual growth, but also confusion, deception, and hidden enemies.
Shatabhisha is the final concluding Rahuvian nakshatra and I feel like the concluding nak of each planet is the most extreme manifestation of its energies but also the point where it transcends beyond itself.
Shatabhisha is associated with the deity Varuna, the god of cosmic and moral order. Varuna is also linked to water, emphasizing the purification aspect of this nakshatra. The connection with a thousand flowers signifies the blossoming of spiritual potential. Varuna (god of the rains/ cosmic & terrestrial waters, sky and earth). also, the mystical healer and the lord of “maya” or illusions. varuna is also sometimes referred as the “dark sun”, he influences the west direction and is active after sunset.
Given that the deity of Shatabhisha is the Lord of Illusions/Maya and Rahu is itself a shadow planet associated with deception, lies and illusions, its no wonder that these natives are often prone to lying.
Pathological lying is defined as "the compulsive urge to lie about matters big and small, regardless of the situation."
Tumblr media
SZA, Shatabhisha Moon, Vishaka Sun is known for being a pathological liar
Here is a video exposing her lies. Tbh SZA lies about things that are so unnecessary and obvious??? she once said that BTS ignored her at an event when there's video proof of them interacting and hugging each other 😭😭She has lied about her real hair, fake freckles, her age, used to say she was a marine biologist, being allergic to fruit & more. It’s mostly little lies that literally don’t even make sense why she is even lying about it.
I feel like being dishonest is a broadly Nodal trait (no offence u guys lmao) and SZA's chart is dominated by Nodal naks. She has Venus in Mula, Mars in Swati, Jupiter in Ardra to make matters worse she has Ketu in Ashlesha (Ashleshas can be hella manipulative) and Vishaka Sun & Mercury (Vishaka is a rakshasa gana nak which means these natives are veryy self serving)
Tumblr media
Jameela Jamil, Shatabhisha Sun, Ketu in Swati
Tbh I can't keep track of everything Jameela has lied about because she lies a lot. Here's an article that goes into it. She has a thing for claiming she has suffered from or is currently suffering from a ton of different illnesses (mercury poisoning, celiac disease, a rare tissue disorder, a breast cancer scare, she's deaf in one ear, severe peanut allergy etc) and just a ton of other sketchy stuff in general lol
Tumblr media
Halsey, Swati Rising & Mercury (She also has Hasta Sun)
Halsey has always claimed to be half black when in reality she is 1/4th black (her dad is half black), she allegedly suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren's syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, POTS etc i don't want to speculate about someone's health but whenever someone talks about having more than 2 serious chronic conditions, it just feels hella sus??? She said she was kicked out of her house as a teenager by her parents but someone who went to highschool with her apparently exposed her saying that wasn't true and that she left on her own to pursue music. Halsey also claimed to have been some sort of edgy misfit outcast in highschool and the same person said she was actually pretty popular and was very good at Art
Tumblr media
Victoria Beckham, Venus conjunct Jupiter in Shatabhisha and Ardra Rising
She is certainly not the only one who has tried to convince us that her chest looks the way it does because of a push-up bra. But Victoria Beckham overdid it with her lies. She had been denying for years that she had undergone surgery for a breast augmentation. But then, one sunny day in July 2009, she slipped up. It happened before an L.A. Dodgers baseball game, where Victoria was given the honor of throwing the first pitch. She walks off the field, and says loudly in her mic that she is a bit worried her pitch would displace her implants. Boom! The truth was out! Her D-cups remained intact, but the damage to her reputation was done. Some years later, the former Spice Girls member had a reduction, and she now claims she regrets of having had the surgery in the first place. She also very recently claimed she grew up super working class when its pretty much public knowledge that she's from a vvv wealthy background (her nickname is literally Posh Spice?? like girl???)
Tumblr media
Taylor Swift, Ardra Moon, Ketu in Ashlesha
This has turned into one of the biggest social media scandals in Hollywood in the past decade. It all started with the notorious line in Kanye West’s song Famous: ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b**ch famous”. Swift’s reaction to these derogatory lyrics was …well… swift and brutal. She complained about being victimized by West and him taking the credit for her success. But then the Invincible Kim took matters into her hands. She broke the internet by posting a Snapchat video of a conversation between Swift and West, in which Swift was saying she had no problem with the lyrics. That was a huge blow as Swift had been whining for weeks about how she had insisted on being “excluded from the narrative.” Sister, if you really wanted to be excluded from the narrative, you should have said that first thing when the rapper called you to ask for your consent!
She also acts like some country gal when her dad is a stockbroker and she grew up on like a 200 acre farm and had her career handed to her lol
I feel like Nodal girlies love to play victim, along with Moon dominants & Ashleshas
Tumblr media
Tyga- Ashlesha Moon conjunct Ketu
He grew up in a rich family in LA but claimed to be from the 'hood lol
Tumblr media
Robert Pattinson- Ardra Moon
He has admitted that he lies all the time in interviews lol tbh its kinda funny
Here's an article about it. my fav bit is the one time he lied about hating the circus because he saw a clown die as a kid lmfao
Tumblr media
Grimes, Shatabhisha Mercury
Grimes lied about throwing a snowball at Queen Elizabeth II's motorcade when she was visiting Vancouver. Somebody pointed out that on that day there was no snow in the city, so it was impossible for her to make a snowball, let alone throw one.
She lies about bizarre things that she doesn't even need to bring up. Like, telling Rolling Stone magazine she had to get over her fears and conceive X by having unprotected sex and letting Elon cum inside her. Later, the Isaacson book proved it was IVF 🤡🤡
She has also been accused of having lied about being homeless in the past
Tumblr media
Lana Del Rey- Ardra Sun
There is an old interview with some guy who studied with her and he said she used to lie all the time lol It was really interesting to see someone in her inner circle kinda reflect on that. His name is Ron Pope. He said
“Actually, I knew her in New York many, many years ago, when she was still going by her real name, Lizzy Grant. And I thought that she was endlessly fascinating, because she was always kind of expressing herself by being a character. She would tell you a story and you're like, "I don't think that's true, but I don't care."
Well, after we were introduced, she told me that she grew up in Arkansas in a trailer park, and was raised by her grandmother. But I'd already known that she was from a family of means in New York. So I was just like, "Huh, you don't say, Arkansas, trailer park." But it was like being around a performance artist. It's not like they're a pathological liar or something, they're just a person creating a character.”
Lana lied about her age at the beginning of her career and to this day she says she grew up poor and is "white trash" when she went to a private boarding school as a teenager ???
Tumblr media
Lady Gaga, Swati Moon conjunct Ketu
Gaga once told that she was bullied in school to the point of being thrown into a trash can because she was "eccentric and theatrical", when in fact she went to one of the most expensive schools in New York (which makes unlikely that something like this would go that far).
There was a bit that she claimed her aunt possessed her and wrote a poem, which she showed to her fans on live stream; someone googled that poem and found it online.
When Amy Winehouse died, Lady Gaga told a reporter she couldn't speak a thing for 48 hours.
When recording the scene where Maurizio is killed, the only thing that went through her mind was "What did I do?"; also, she claims that she spoke with Italian accent for 6 months after the footage was finished.
Tumblr media
Kylie Jenner, Ashlesha Sun, Swati Moon
she lied about not getting plastic surgery for yearssss, claiming she just gained weight or whatever lol
Tumblr media
Sara Ali Khan, Ashlesha Sun, Shatabhisha Moon
She's descended from royalty on her father's side, her mother comes from a very influential family, both her parents are successful actors, she went to fkn Columbia University for her undergrad yet she claims to be a "normal middle class girl" and says that she does not pay for mobile roaming cause its too expensive?? 😩😂and she is known for her PR stunts lmao, just a few days ago she was "spotted" helping underprivileged people when its sooo obvious that she called the paps to film her lmfao
Tumblr media
Zayn Malik, Shatabhisha Venus & Rising
When Zayn Malik quit One Direction, he claimed it was so that he could shy away from the spotlight and lead a normal life. I don't know about you, but most 22-year-olds aren't releasing solo albums. Considering Malik debuted his first solo track only a week after leaving the band, it appears as though he lied about the reason for leaving. Especially since he's released a lot of solo music. In an interview with Billboard, he came clean about One Direction not being what he expected. So, I guess he just got fed up with the boy band life, huh? He could've just been honest from the beginning, though.
Tumblr media
Steve Rannazzisi, Ardra Sun & Moon, Venus in Ashlesha atmakaraka
The League actor Steve Rannazzisi lied about being in the World Trade Center on 9/11. He originally had an elaborate story about that tragic day prompting him to pick up and move to Los Angeles to pursue his comedy dreams. But in September 2015, Rannazzisi said:
I was not at the Trade Center on that day. I don't know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry.
As he says himself, this is a pretty "inexcusable" lie. I will say, though, at least he came clean about it. When it comes to honesty, better late than never.
Tumblr media
Galileo Galilei- Shatabhisha Sun, Ashlesha Rising
Galileo was more convinced that Earth revolves around the sun. This led to his trial in 1616. Galileo obeyed the church order to end all discussion on the matter. But after 16 years, he published a book that the Catholic Church could not accept at the time.
I thought I should include him because this is such a huge example of telling the truth?? even at great personal odds?? imagine being the one to stand up to the goddamn church in an era where everyone was convinced the sun revolved around the earth lol??
it goes to show that not everyone with certain placements will turn out to be liars and deceivers.
Tumblr media
Kurt Gerstein- Shatabhisha stellium, Saturn, Ketu and Rising
Kurt Gerstein was a deeply contradictory figure, who's life and work bear examination as an example of how a deeply flawed person can still try to do admirable things.
Born to a virulently authoritarian and later aggressively pro-Nazi father, he grew up in strongly ultranationalist circles. At university, at his father's behest, he joined a far right student association/fraternity.
At the same time, he became involved with the Confessing Church, an organisation dedicated to fighting back against Nazi influence in the Protestant churches, who's membership included a number of prominent German resistance figures. He spent a small amount of time in prisons and in camps for distributing anti-Nazi material, but his father's influence allowed him to escape serious punishment.
In 1941, he joined the SS, in his own words "acting as an agent of the Confessing Church." Shortly beforehand he discovered his sister in law had been murdered as part of what we know as Aktion-T4, the genocide of the mentally ill and physically disabled. His plan was to get inside, find whatever evidence of crimes and atrocities he could, and get them published for all the world to see.
Due to his experience in pest control and water purification, he was made head of the subsection of the SS responsible for supplying Zyklon B, an industrial rat poison, to a variety of sites in Poland. When he asked what the obscene quantities of poison gas could possibly be being used for, he was invited to witness the camps himself.
He attempted to tell the world of what he had seen at Belzec and Treblinka, telling a Swedish diplomat, a Swiss diplomat, A Dutch resistance man, and anyone else he could get his hands on, but nobody really took notice.
He spent years trying to get the story out, until in 1945 he surrendered to a French officer, telling him everything in the hope that his testimony could be used to prosecute senior Nazis and camp officials. He was given a hotel room and a typewriter and told to write his report.
After he was done, he was treated as a war criminal and transferred to a military prison where he was found hanged in his cell, likely driven to suicide by what he viewed as the final failure of his task.
After his death, his report has continued to be used as one of the definitive accounts of the Holocaust, being used in the Nuremberg Trials, the Eichmann trial, and the trial of David Irving.
Once again, it is possible to have these placements and still tell the truth and stand up for the truth. our birth chart reveals our natural tendencies, what we must do is rise above them. and contrary to popular belief, we can rise above our nature.
I hope this was interesting xx

Pertaining to the last few asks, how would you rate Macaque and Wukong as a parent/uncle for MK? Do you think he was relieved to find some other influence in Reader and the other Pigsy’s Noodles people?
eh, wukong isn't a bad dad. he's very concerned about mk's welfare in a world full of powerful enemies that would jump at the chance to hurt the monkey king through his son. his training regimen is brutal, but it's good bonding time for the two of them. wukong is comforted by the fact that mk can keep up with him in a fight; means the other guys don't stand a chance. wukong knows his son wants to be a hero, and dreads the day mk may challenge him as a real opponent.
outside of training, the adopted father and son hang out together, have fun with the monkey subjects, go on adventures, and just generally get along well. mk knows his dad is a villain, but... he has a hard time believing that the one who raised him, the king who loves his subjects and his home, and the monster who destroys cities and countless lives are the same person.
a solid 7/10 on the caring parent scale. would tear the world apart for his son.
macaque is the cool, somewhat standoffish uncle who cares for his nephew, but isn't too terribly involved in his upbringing. of course he looked after the kid, watched him when his dad was busy, told him stories when he was little, took him on adventures he probably shouldn't have gone on...but he always handed him back to his dad at the end of the day.
he believes the kid should be able to make more of his own decisions and make his own way. he wants mk to be safe, obviously, but he also wants the kids to be more independent. macaque, since he doesn't have as much of a vendetta against mortals as wukong does, periodically visits the mortal cities throughout the centuries to keep up on modern human/demon culture. sometimes he would take lil mk with him whenever he'd visit human markets and stores (which would inevitably lead to lil mk's fascination with the mortal city). he figures the kid needs to know about the big wide world and all who live in it, not just enemy immortals and the mountain they call home.
a 6/10 on the cool uncle scale. he taught mk a lot of magic and shady fighting tactics, and was generally a bad influence (though seeing as his dad is one of the most notorious villains in the world—)
(don't know if ill draw it, but the cute thought of lil baby mei and lil baby mk passing each other in the street only to become friends later on came to me while i wrote this)

Single Dad Simon Riley
Tumblr media
A request for Single Dad Simon from @buzzyb33 I hope this is what you wanted, I kinda just went with what my monkey brain came up with.
SINGLE DAD SIMON
Single Dad Simon has twins. A boy who is docile, shy and hides behind Simon's legs around new people. His daughter is bold and boisterous. Sometimes he swears she almost bounces off of the walls. Their mother has been out of the picture since not long after they were born, she pays child support but has otherwise severed all parental support and interactions with the twins. The boy twin is named Theo and the girl is April. The names are the only two things their mother left them with.
Single Dad Simon used to hate her for abandoning their children but in time he accepted it as being the best. Forcing her to stay would likely have just hurt the kids more. Simon gave up his career in the military to take care of his kids and be a present father. He works as a plumber, a pretty good one at that. He makes enough money to provide for his kiddos and put money aside for emergencies and/or their futures. He wants to have enough money put away for them if they decide to go to university. Giving up his career was difficult but it had to be done, he was all they had and he wants to give them a childhood so much better than his own.
Single Dad Simon finds being a dad almost as stressful as being in the SAS and doing all that sort of thing. Raising the twins on his own through their infancy to toddlerhood was mentally and physically exhausting. There were nights when both of the twins were teething, would not go to sleep and just kept screaming where he felt like running away. But he never did of course, our Simon aint a quitter ESPECIALLY when it comes to his kids.
Single Dad Simon is still in contact with 141, they come to visit when on leave. Soap and Gaz like to spoil the twins. April LOVES uncle Soap. She calls him a "pretty princess". She also makes takes Gaz, Soap and Theo out into the garden where she likes to play construction work barbie, digging up the garden and making "roads" for her and her brothers cars. Theo, the sweet little boy really opens up around Price. Something about Price brings out his bolder side. He's always tackle hugging Price and asking lots of questions about the cool planes and other vehicles he's been in. Neither of the twins really believe that their father was big and tough like their uncles. Simon honestly prefers that they don't believe that he was a big bad military man, he tries to keep as much of his personal military career from them.
Single Dad Simon who frets when the twins first go to primary school and after school care. He doesn't like being away from them for such long periods of time, deep down he knows that they will be just fine and they will be safe but the other part of him frets terribly. What if they get bullied? What if they hurt themselves? What if they get mean teachers? After the first year he calms down considerably with his worries but there is a side of him that will never relax and be wary for danger.
Single Dad Simon who finds himself getting lonely as the kids settle into school life and his business does well. He finds himself wishing for romantic companionship and a feminine influence for his children. He worries that only having military men for family will stunt their mental growth. He promises himself to open himself up to the possibility of meeting someone new.
When Single Dad Simon does find someone he clicks with, he doesn't hide that he has kids and is a single parent. But he makes clear that it will take an extended period of time before he introduces them to her. He needs to be sure that he can trust her around them. If she already knows them through some outside of school place, like the bakery they always go to on Sunday or the Librarian at the library where the after school program is held, he will be less wary of having her in their private lives but will still TAKE HIS TIME.
Single Dad Simon is a good dad. He struggles with the stress and isolation sometimes but he has 141 as his brothers and maybe one day soon he might have a lady in his life who will welcome his kids and him with open arms into her own life.

Tumblr media
Backdrop: You and Miles have been best friends since you were babies. Doesn't mean that the friendship never faced hardships. Pairing: e!1610 Miles Morales x fem!spider!reader Warnings: none, probably some grammar errors and my attempt at fluff with the characters. y'know before the inevitable has to happen A's notes: apologies for this not coming out sooner. also, i don't think i clarified in the first chapter that reader is also hispanic. i'll be sprinkling in some spanish words moving forward. if you'd like to be tagged, do let me know in the comments. Translations: a comer = time to eat | amiga = friend (feminine) | mi vida = my life, darling, dear etc. | lo adoro = i adore/love it Word count: 2.5k PREVIOUS | NEXT
After that, you brought up the subject every now and then. You had spotted on his notebook once a quick doodle of you swinging around. It was from a clip he’d seen on the news and thought it was cool. When Araña was brought up, Miles never had anything but good things to say. Always commenting on how cool she looked on a video he’d seen of her stopping robbers or the one time he heard her speak Spanish to an older woman as she was helping cross the street. His words were indirectly helping you to keep going.
You tried harder to salvage the friendship you had with him as you came up on two years of fighting alongside Peter. You had more study sessions together (which you were still sometimes late to) and you did your best to keep him involved in your life.
The study sessions that the two of you had were also becoming more frequent as you were gearing up for entry exams for Brooklyn Visions Academy. If you did well on the exam, you would be entered into a lottery that could land you the opportunity to attend the school. You were naturally academically gifted - didn’t mean you never studied, though. You knew that this could be great for your future. You wanted to make a difference in the world and while Brooklyn Middle had great programs, BVA would be a step in the right direction to get you where you wanted to be for college. Two students would be selected from the lottery after the school year ended.
You and Miles alternated study session locations; the last one being at his place before the entry exam. Mrs. Morales adored having you in her home. She was worried when you didn’t stop by as much; going as far as to ask your father about your well-being (he claimed you were going through puberty and all that ‘teenage angst’). Mr. Morales breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed you and Miles were studying together again; he always thought of you as a good influence on his son. You complimented him in areas where he wasn’t the best and knew him a lot better than they would these days.
The two of you had been studying for the last few hours and you had informed your family that you would be eating dinner at Miles’. Peter also knew that this was an important time for you and let you have the night to study, rest and enjoy your time with Miles.
“I think I’m going to pass out if I have to look at another page of equations.” you groaned on his bed, falling back onto the pillows. Miles could only laugh on the floor, agreeing with your statement completely.
“¡A comer!” Mrs. Morales yelled from the kitchen. You silently thanked the heavens for her impeccable timing.
As you two set the table, the TV flashed to a picture of Spider-Man and ‘Spider-Girl’, reporting on an update of the Green Goblin you two had thwarted the previous night. You didn’t pay much attention to it once you heard them refer to you as Spider-Girl. Oh, how you dreaded them calling you that.
“It’s terrible that he’s gotten a young girl believing that she can just swing in and not take responsibility for her actions!” Mr. Morales hollered at the screen as he helped bring the food to the table.
Miles rolled his eyes at his father, never really agreeing with his dad’s opinions on the superhero. He mumbled under his breath about how he didn’t understand. You quietly chuckled at his statement. He was a cop after all. What you and Peter were doing was helping but technically illegal.
The conversation was quickly squashed before it even started by Rio when she looked at Jeff with a look. She didn’t want to hear any talk about work or superheroes at the table. Dinner was spent eating and catching up with the family that hadn’t consistently seen you in a while. Rio had expressed that you could talk to her if you were going through something, appreciating how much she cared about you like you were her daughter. She always looked out for you. Jeff had asked the two of you about studying for the entry exams. You had shown more enthusiasm for the opportunity to study at BVA more so than Miles. Before the two of them could get into it, you mentioned how much you appreciated Miles helping you study. You knew how hard his father could be, despite meaning well. You always tried to make Miles look good in front of his parents to spare him. Miles bumped his knee with yours under the table as a ‘thank you’. It seemed like the two of you were getting back into the swing of things like before. That night, you ended up sleeping over for the first time in a little over a year. It warmed your heart knowing that your friendship with Miles was settling back to the way it was.
When you were chosen in the lottery with Miles to go to BVA, you couldn’t be happier. You felt as if it was a sign that life wasn’t going be terrible. It signaled to you that you could handle your school and spider-life. Or so you believed.
After you turned 14, you had begun pestering Peter to start trusting you to tag along with him to fight more of the big bad guys he was always on the news about fighting. He didn’t want you messing with the ‘big leagues’ yet as he was worried about your safety. 14 still meant you were a kid, after all. Even if you were 21, Peter would’ve still been hesitant. Last thing he needed was to further traumatize you or possibly get you killed. It wasn’t until you bothered him beyond belief and pinky swore that you’d get out if it got too dangerous. It meant that you’d leave Peter to fight for himself if it got to be too risky to keep you safe. You and Peter both had families that cared about you but his family wasn’t in the dark about the crime-fighting. He’d rather risk himself than have to explain to your family why he couldn’t keep you safe.
Meanwhile, Miles didn’t enjoy being at BVA. He quite loathed it. While he had you there with him, your schedules weren’t the same; three classes in total you had together. The school load was also stressful and it felt as though he didn’t belong. Didn’t mean that you weren’t stressed either. You were practically drowning in your own thoughts of your future on top of the work load from school and your spider duties. You were barely getting any sleep and had debated on letting a few classes suffer for the sake of lessening the stress of your life. You just seemed to have a better way of hiding your stress than Miles - something he commented on when he realized that you were just as stressed but didn’t show it. Thankfully the two of you had lunch together to connect and stress together. It hurt to see that your best friend didn’t see himself fitting into the school. You always told him to give the school a shot because maybe, just maybe, he may like it. He often wished to be back at Brooklyn Middle. He described the school as ‘elitist’ and that neither him or you belonged because it was always going to be you two against the world.
It was a saying the two of you bonded over - especially since it was the name of one of your favorite songs. You had originally voiced the phrase when you were both 10. Already feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders. Miles knew that your home life wasn’t always peaceful and that you took on more than you should’ve, emotionally speaking, for a 10-year-old. Miles always did his best to let you know that he was there for you. Whenever your family stressed you out, you would find yourself on the roof of his building, staring at the sunset, waiting for the sky to turn navy. You two had managed to keep a giant sleeping bag stashed there to lay on and go under when the nights turned cold. It was your own private hiding spot from the world. On particularly stressful days, one or both of you would bring food to eat your feelings.
“Hey Miles,” you turned your head to look at the boy who had just listened to you ramble about what was going on in your headspace for the last 30 minutes.
“Yeah, Y/N?” he kept looking up at the sky.
“Are you scared of the future? What may happen to us?”
“Yes and no,” he chuckled, finally turning to look at you, a small smile creeping in.
“Why’s that?”
“‘Cause, you and I are bound to change and yeah, I’m scared that you won’t want to hang around me at some point buuut,”
“But?”
“I’m also sure that you and I will always be in each other’s lives - can’t get rid of me that easily, Y/N.” he reached over to tickle your side, earning you a laugh as music softly played along with the natural sounds of Brooklyn. Your favorite, 2pac’s ‘Me Against The World’ started playing in the air.
“It’ll be us against the world”
“Always, amiga”
You smiled across the table at the memory. You knew that he could succeed in BVA. He didn’t get lucky, both of you deserved to be here. You didn’t want him to quit when there was a possibility for him to do great things and prove himself to all the other snobs that he was just as smart, if not, smarter than all of them.
“C’mon Miles, you’ve barely given it two weeks,” you started as you played with the food in front of you.
“Now you’re starting to sound like my dad,” he groaned. The comparison stung a bit but you kept your face neutral.
“Y’know you deserve to be here just as much as these other richy-rich kids” you started, not wanting your frustrations to shine through.
“Y/N, if I flunk a couple more tests, they’re sure to kick me out and back to Brooklyn Middle,” he was growing frustrated at not being understood, “all our friends are there.”
“Your friends are there, Miles. Not mine…not anymore.” you were now getting a jump start on an assignment, trying to distract yourself from the loss of a few friends because of your crime fighting. It was a painful reminder of how quickly people were willing to let you go.
“Y/N, I don’t know why you want to stay here so ba-“
“Because I care about my future Miles,” now you were yelling, “you’re not the only one who has had to sacrifice so much to get here!” a few sets of eyes were staring at you and Miles. Not wanting to make more of a scene, you grabbed your belongings and walked out on your best friend who sat there hurt and embarrassed for the second time since arriving at the school (the first being when his dad dropped him off at the beginning of the week).
You didn’t speak to Miles for the remainder of the day. You didn’t mean to yell but you knew what you needed was to patrol with Peter to get away from your schoolwork and all your other stress. It was good that you lucked out and didn’t get a roommate. Well, you did for two days and then she was gone - you don’t know if she couldn’t handle the pressure or something else had happened.
“Tough day at school today?” Peter started from your dorm window.
“Don’t wanna talk about it, Pete.” you grumbled as you pulled your mask on.
He didn’t bring it up for the rest of the night.
The following day, you had run late to your first class and tried multitasking during classes. By the time lunch rolled around, you and Miles still sat together, just didn’t say a word. He was listening to music as he ate while you worked and ate. You know Peter would’ve laughed if he saw the two of you. You were both mad at each other but you were still sitting together eating lunch. It was a testament to your friendship. The two of you could argue and yell at each other but like you both had said various times, you couldn’t get rid of the other easily. It would take a lot to leave each other. You knew in your heart of hearts that you could never leave Miles, no matter what he did. You loved the boy so much and considered him a lifeline. If you cut that, you don’t think you’d survive the world. Miles felt about the same. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the two of you would be in each other’s lives forever; even through the ups and downs of life.
You had your final class of the day with Miles. It was an English Literature class and you had been assigned a personal assignment that your teacher decided was a good way to get to know the students. You were allowed to work alongside a partner for the remainder of class to brainstorm and start the assignment. Quietly, you and Miles made your way to each other, sitting in the back corner of the room on the floor. Miles had taken out his sketchbook to start brainstorming some ideas for how he could title his paper. You had forgotten your sketchbook in your locker. Regardless, you weren’t as skilled as Miles when it came to art. You mainly did little doodles in the margins of your notebooks. Which is why Miles referred to your sketchbook as a ‘doodle book’.
“I’m sorry for losing my cool with you, Miles” You bumped your shoulder with his as you aimlessly doodled on your notepad.
“Don’t worry about it, mi vida.” he was already writing something out on a page that had a few drawings. One that particularly stood out was a side profile of Araña. “I know how hard you worked to be here and I’m more than happy to have you here with me.” he smiled as he continued sketching.
“What’re you going to title your essay?” you rested your head on his shoulder, a natural position the two of you were often seen in.
“I’m not sure yet but I thought of one for yours,” he mindlessly spoke, his attention on getting the design just right for you, “if you like it, of course.”
Your eyes started focusing on the word he had spelled out, the lettering he kept simple, almost delicate.
“Hummingbird?” you eyed him, brows furrowed.
“Yeah…I read somewhere that they bring good luck if you’re visited by one,” he stated as he continued detailing around the lettering, “I think it suits you.” he sheepishly smiled.
You couldn’t help but smile and placed a quick peck on his cheek, “I don’t like it, Miles.” you state with a smile on your lips as you bring your focus back to your notepad.
“Lo adoro”

I'm so pissed at Gideon dad (not at his mom cause it so obvious Bill manipulated her). He was guilttripping his 11 year old so hard. No way he didn't know what he was doing
I think he doesn't want to guilt-trip Gideon, but he ABSOLUTELY knows that's what he's doing. And I think he feels guilty about it; but I think he also feels like they, collectively as a family, have no choice. To him the guilt is an accidental, unavoidable side-effect of the "necessary" action of explaining the family's situation to Gideon.
That doesn't make what Bud's doing okay, but it's an important to his characterization. He's not callously uncaringly manipulative to his son; he's just a coward.
Less than a year ago, Gideon WAS the family's income, and in turn the family poured their finances into Gideon's career: the equipment and staff at the Tent of Telepathy, the tour bus, the merchandise (which is unsellable now). There's no evidence that Gideon had any other manager or agent, it was all his dad.
You don't just accidentally stumble into a 10-year-old bringing in all the family's money. MAYBE Gideon initially drove his own career forward while mentally under the influence of the magic bolo tie, and his family didn't want to end up in that position but buckled under the force of his insistence; but, however it happened, they did buckle under. They got used to their child being the breadwinner.
His parents aren't capable of simply raking in the dough like their kid is. They can't just BECOME celebrities that people throw money at. So what do they do when they have financial troubles? When the dad's income stream has been disrupted because they put everything on hold for Gideon's career and it didn't pan out? When they might have debts left over from Gideon's career (did they pay off that tour bus? how much money did they put into merch expecting to make the money back on sales)?
If the choice is between "don't make enough money and get your family into serious financial trouble" and "ask your child to help make more money," and you feel like there isn't a viable third option... well, sometimes you pressure your 11-year-old to make money and lie awake at night feeling like a terrible father, because you are.
There aren't any good options in that situation. I think leaning on your child to help make money is the worst option; but it's also the option the Gleeful family is used to.

“he / she / they / you didn’t protect me from that.”
“i’ve never not been a mom / dad / parent.”
“that’s the only time i ever got to be a kid.”
“don’t be a little shit.”
“you never forget the lesson that they would rather destroy you than let you inconvenience them.”
“it’s hard, and you’re doing it anyway.”
“fucktrumpet! shitgibbon! cockwomble!”
“be serious for once!”
“i need to know what happened to her / him / them / you / us.”
“anyone who was looking for you, anyone who took the trouble to find you: they’re not your friend.”
“you have to get out of there. now.”
“you can’t get better until you’ve hit rock bottom. you know that.”
“what if forgetting is a gift?”
“i wish i could forget it.”
“we missed you, name.”
“you didn’t give up, even when it got hard and a little scary. sometimes things are a little hard and scary. that’s when we need each other the most.”
“i am losing my mind.”
“i missed you the most.”
“i want it back.”
“i can’t force you to do it. but i need you to do this for me. for us.”
“weird vibe in here, you guys.”
“please, come with me. nothing here is good for you.”
“i know that sounds sad but it wasn’t.”
“don’t look at me like i’m the one who’s being a bitch.”
“what the hell? how is that possible?”
“tell me whether i saw what i think i saw.”
“how long have you been down here?”
“we don’t say that.” / “why not? they’re just words.”
“so really, all words are magic. something from nothing.”
“you were always good at words, weren’t you? good at making the others do what you wanted.”
“i’m tired of talking.”
“nothing is more powerful than imagination.”
“we all chose what to remember. or what to forget.”
“maybe it’s a deepfake.”
“fuck me. fuck me, fuck me. fuck all of us.”

“i’ll see what they want.”
“name. fuckface. fuckface junior.”

“i’m going with you. we do this together.”
“you all realize this is insane, right? this is how we die.”
“at least i’ll go out doing what i love: being an absolute fuckwit making the worst possible choice.” / “no. being an absolute fuckwit making the worst possible choice in the best possible company.”
“is that how it was always supposed to feel?”
“i’m ready to break things.”
“i never would have left you.”

“you haven’t forgotten who you were, but you’re even better at it.”
“name is fucking with people who don’t have his / her / their best interests at heart.”
“that’s gotta be driving them insane to watch.”
“i’m nothing without it. i’ve never been anything without it.”
“you’ve always been enough by yourself. no one has ever been as loyal and smart and funny and fierce and deeply, deeply annoying as you.”
“i want to be a person. whole. happy with just myself. but how do we do that?” / “therapy.”
“in today’s session, i’d like to revisit the period of your childhood that was controlled by a minor deity in a pocket universe.”
“you’re all so stupid.”
“i love you, and i’m so proud of you.”
“you came back for us after all, name. i always knew you would.” / “really?” / “no. but i love being wrong. i’m really good at it.”
“he’s / she’s / they’re gone. you’ve always been good enough. you can do this alone.”
“i would have loved you so well.”
“you stayed.” / “i stayed.”
“go on. i believe in you.”
“you know what that’s like, if you let yourself remember.”
“it’s not perfect, but it doesn’t need to be.”

can you pass the golden duo headcanons i think you would have good ones
🤲🤲🤲my hands are open ready to catch them
RUBS MY FUCKING HANDS TOGETHER IVE BEEN THINKING ABT THEM SM UVE COME AT THE RIGHT TIME
echolalia. i already said that but. ECHOLALIA. shit gets tossed around. funny words youd find in a dr seuss book.
holding hands, leaning on each other, and lots of hugs!!!! best friends 2 me :(
cassidy wasnt super nice to him when they were alive and she regrets it a lot because of how things turned out and shes super defensive of him now
that being said, she never bullied him and was actively rude to anyone who did. she didnt particularly like him but she wasnt gonna stand for the harassment. if shed known about his party, she couldve saved him and i think she thinks about that a lot
i think eventually she apologized formally and he assured her it was fine and that he forgave her. because she of all people deserved it
he listens to her vent her frustrations. sometimes she reminds him of michael with how angry she is, but he knows how to calm her down and he always remembers shes nothing like michael was
he keeps her company in ucn when being around everyone is too much. hes forgiven them but sometimes things are hard still. sometimes he cant be around them. and she really needs company too. he knows she wont come to him, so he goes to her.
he doesnt like the gore or blood so cassidy will talk to him when theyre stuffing nightguards
hes still scared of animatronics so none of the kids greet him as animatronics. they care about him sosoososo much
evan would do fucking anything for cassidy. anything.
she knows his anxiety triggers pretty well by this point and she knows how to distract him. and vice versa.
casisdy doesnt panic as much as she gets over emotional and freaks out. does that make sense? she has more anger than fear and it fucks her up and hes always there when she gets tired of it.
he does her hair because he died before he could ever do his own. he wishes hed grown out his hair before he died
she encourages any behaviors he hid because of michael. she encourages anything that goes against michael.
shes a terribly influence on evan but its because she lvoes him and thinks he deserved better. he thinks she has enough anger for the both of them. she knows hes right and she hates it because HE deserves this anger.
they fight a lot but its never like cassidy and charlie. if cassidy fought with evan like she fought with charlie itd ruin both of them.
if theyd lived they probably wouldve run away together and been roomates
they like to joke that theyre soulmates (platonically) in both a figurative and literal sense. get it? because their souls are connected in golden freddy? they are my world
when they first meet in GF its tense. they end up caring about each other but theres lots to figure out and understand. she cant yell too loud at him because it reminds him of his dad, she cant play certain pranks on him like she might with her friends because it reminds him of michael.
she learns when to be loud and open with him and when she has to be gentle. he gets used to her shenanigans but sometimes things are too much
shes jokingly mean to her friends but not as much to evan because he doesnt always get its a joke
shed have loved to do his makeup and his nails. if theyd lived and moved out together the first thing they wouldve done is dye their hair and paint their nails and do their makeup and buy clothes they KNOW their parents would hate.
thats all i have in my brain rn they make me sad

As much as I really dislike Willy. It makes sense if he would be a veteran. Especially with the way he acted and everything. Especially about masculinity and everything. It also makes sense if he was also a victim of abuse too. Because people don't just. Randomly do that. Abuse doesn't just come out of nowhere.
That's literally what the story is about. That's literally why we've gotten such a human side of everything with all of these characters. They are human. They are victims. Intergenerational trauma is a very real thing. Evil doesn't come from nothing. That's WHY the Doodler is sympathetic. Because it's a story about how those evils come to be. That so much of hate comes for ignorance and misunderstandings.
This is why Anthony always tells us that everything Willy is doing comes from fear. When we look into the motivations, it's always some he's terrified of. Because that is the source of hate. This is why Daddy/creator magic is fear and love and not hate and love. Because Willy, The Doodler and everything other villain aren't just doing this out of hate. But fear. Whatever that fear is. It's scares the shit out of them. And it's very real to them.
I think what is happening to the forgotten realms is a really good example of this. Obviously when dood was still above the world it was heavily influencing everyone, but I don't think that was everything. The people are doing everything down there not just from the corruption, but out of fear and survival. They are doing all these terrible things because they need to live and they are scared. And it makes them fearful of others. It makes them invested with hate.
But all of this is human. Even if people are aware of their terrible actions and continue to do terrible things. I think it's important in this story to understand that every villain has been incredibly human. Because even humans can be terrible and evil. Ordinary evils happen more than we might understand.
I think it's why it's important that we knew the S1 Dads. We know them. We understand what they have been through. We understand what has been unleashed because of them. We understand the mistakes they left for their kids to clean up, and then now their grandkids are cleaning up.
We know them because it makes us understand the kiddads. We can look at them through a sympathetic lens. All of them. And understand why didn't just randomly turn out this way.
You traumaize your kids whether you want to or not. I think even in the best relationships in the world. That there are ways you traumatized your children. No matter how gentle it way or how many books you read or if you went to therapy. You will fuck up. That is just the reality of life. But it's not something that means that it's a failure.
We know the kiddads are traumatized. We know that their parents tried their best. We know that the kiddads after everything they went through tired wjat they could and Still fucked up. But these relationships aren't damaged forever. We know this. We know that Grant loves his dad despite awaking something in him and probably scarring him forever. We know that Ron probably fucked up thousands of times, but Terry Jr loves him so much. We have an example of a parent that fucked up more with Glenn, but we know that he cares deeply about Nicky despite what happened. We know Nicky loves his dad even if it will never be the same. Even with Jodie we know that there has been mistakes, but he's tried a lot with son. We know that sometimes it's as good as it gets. With Henry we don't know everything that happened. We don't know why the twins stopped talking to him. But everything we saw and some of the flashbacks we knew that he'd do anything for his boys and the twins love their dad, and their is no denying that.
These relationships are complex. Probably the most complex and sibling relationships following. These traumas don't just happen. These are things that build up over time. We see that with the doodler. This story is about intergenerational trauma. The doodler is literally a representation of all the emotions that come with childhood and adulthood of being a parent and being someone's kid. That's what the story is about. That's why we literally have this story in the point of view of the dads and the teens. Because that's what it's all about. How family can be our own villains, but also our heros. They every part of the story. The middle, the end and the beginning.

In honor of Halloween, which character(s) of LMK gets super extra about Halloween? Like the go all out, which decorations, elaborate costumes, and the like? Also, if a character would dress up for Halloween what they dress up as? I feel for some reason that Mei, or Red Son or both, would legitimately prank houses that don't give out candy, or give something dumb like toothbrushes, and go all out like their live or family honor depended on it.
Oh gosh both of the Monkey dads are terrible influences. Wukong hears "free candy" and he's pretending to be a child in a costume. Even worse in the Au since he demands "dad tax" for chaperone the kids, or might just pull a "dad outfit" for his own snacks. Probably the only one who actually likes getting fruit.
Tumblr media
Macaque is super into the costume aspect, so he's up all night making custom outfits for the kiddos to wear. Stuff with practical effects that leave all the other kid's costumes in the dust. Bai He asked once for help choosing a witches' outfit, and Mac had to be talked down from giving her an actual enchanted broomstick.
MK is a sweet-fiend all throughout the halloween season. Gets really sad when all the halloween stock gets cleared out for xmas stuff. Was ok to stop trick-or-treating around the time he was old enough to chaperone the Eclipse Twins - still gets given candy sometimes by people who think he's just a tall teenager.
Mei and Red have a battle strategy for each place they hit up. A pre-game map of each available door since its harder to trick or treat in high-density areas. They negoiate homes that give out "bad candy" with good faith (dentists or old people) vs homes that are clearly just not in the spirit. Red misunderstands the level of "trick" at times, so Mei has to reel him back from breaking windows. Their "calling card" trick is a little graffiti of a dragon done in sugar syrup on the "bad houses" doors and/or walls. Their family honor is on the line if they dont' at least send a message.
Pigsy probably would close the shop for the night if not for little kids and their parents dropping by the shop for treats/dinner. He's gotten "too old" for the holiday and candy, but he still his a trick left up his sleeve. Probably helped Mei and red organise their first Big Prank.
Tang is deep into the horror media and telling the kids all the spookiest folklore stories. Probably even does a special reading corner event at the library to get his crypt-keeper vibe going.
Sandy loves the childhood aspect of halloween, but the gory stuff makes him quesy. And loud poppers/fireworks scares his cats. He'd probably stay indoors most of the time, but is happy to give out candy - most likely saltwater taffy.
The spider gang and the gold-silver twins, as you can imagine, are all running about having a terrific night of mischief and partying. Halloween is a BIG event in the demon world despite it's foreign influence. It's a night for cutting loose and letting your more trickster side out.

Hi! 3, 13, 15, and 22 for the snape asks?
3. Do you consider Lily a good friend?
I don't think we know enough about Lily to consider her a good friend or otherwise (side eyeing JKR for all her flatly written female characters, but especially for throwing any hope of character development for Lily under the bus for the sake of the big reveal at the end of DH). What I do think of Lily is that when she and Snape were friends they were very young. They were only 15, maybe 16, when their friendship ended. You're still figuring out who you are at that age, and friendships often fall apart then. Sometimes they heal, sometimes they don't. I had two friendships come apart at the seams when I was 16; one never recovered, and the other did and ended up becoming stronger and we're still very close.
I think Lily didn't understand what Snape was dealing with at home and at school, and wouldn't have had the emotional intelligence to, at that age. That isn't to say 16 year olds aren't emotionally intelligent by any means! Rather that, at that age you're still learning about the world, about yourself, and if you haven't experienced abuse then it's really really hard to understand it. Even kids that age who are experiencing abuse don't really understand it yet. It takes years to process and really comprehend how abuse works, how and why it's insidious, and what it does to a person. It says a lot that before it was revealed on Pottermore that Snape's dad beat him with a belt, there were people who read about his dad shouting a lot and understood the allusion to abuse, and others who read it to mean his dad was just cranky.
Abuse gets downplayed easily and often, sometimes even by the people suffering from it. I don't think Lily had the ability to be the friend Snape needed; I don't think anyone did. And he certainly didn't know what he needed from a friend either. The two of them were also of an era when the understanding of a home life like Snape's wasn't, "that man is terrible, he hits his son" but rather "behave yourself and don't anger your father, you know how he gets." In other words, there was a lot more victim blaming. The same goes for being bullied at school, especially at a British school. The mantra was "keep your head down and don't let them know they're getting to you and maybe they'll leave you alone," whereas now the onus is on bullies to stop their behavior.
As little as we know about Lily, I don't think she was a bad friend to Snape, she just didn't know what he needed, or what danger he was in from radicalization. What we can infer from the books, though, is that she defended him to her friends for some time and stayed his friend even when her other friends tried to dissuade her, so there must have been a good amount of affection there. I think the anger we see her show him is more about a feeling of disappointment or betrayal than any kind of hatred. The way she stands up to James, even though it has an element of sexual tension between the two of them, also speaks to a fierce loyalty with which she defends her friend. It seems like there was probably tension between Lily and Snape by then, since he lashes out at her and their subsequent argument has a very "the last straw" vibe, but that loyalty, and the love underlying it, is there.
13. How do you think Snape treats his own House?
I think he treats them like every other Hogwarts teacher treats theirs. We're told by Harry in the books that he gives his house preferential treatment, and he hears this from one of the Weasley brothers when he arrives at Hogwarts, but we mostly see Snape give Malfoy preferential treatment, not his whole house. Even when he gives the Slytherins that note that they can use the Quidditch pitch to practice, it's because Malfoy is on the team. This can be for a number of reasons, but likely because of his personal relationship with Lucius Malfoy and the latter's extent of influence (which can go both ways - people like that can make your life much easier and more comfortable, but can also ruin it if you anger them, especially if they have direct power over you such as being on the board of governors of the school you teach at and having a personal relationship with high ranking government officials).
Giving his house team permission to practice on the pitch is also a much less consequential move than McGonagall bending school rules so Harry can play on his house team as a first year AND get a free broomstick (an expensive one at that, when the school has a set of brooms already that he could have borrowed - and we know from PoA that he could have just ordered one for himself). Snape doesn't hand out praise to Slytherins, he's just more likely to overlook their mistakes. But again, we see this through Harry's biased lens - and he's always in class with Neville, who melts so many cauldrons and explodes so many potions that he shouldn't be allowed into class without a fire extinguisher strapped to him.
Overall I think Snape is a generally strict teacher. As has been pointed out by others, he never awards points, he only deducts them, yet his house won the house cup for something like six years in a row before Harry came along. Every Hogwarts teacher favors their own house in one way or another, Snape is just cast in a bad light because our narrator is Harry and he sure is biased.
15. If he’d lived, how do you think he would have gone on with his life?
I answered this a few months ago apparently, here. Tl;dr he would have led a quiet life developing cures at St. Mungo's - it would have allowed him to indulge his intellectual curiosity, have status, and assuage his guilt since he would be helping people.
22. If someone put a gun to Snape’s head and told him to pick a favorite out of the Golden Trio, who do you think he’d pick?
Someone else just asked this one too! I answered it here.

what story/book has impacted you the most?
Ohhh good question!! I get a lot of my personality and influence from various books, mostly ones I read with my dad when I was definitely too young for that kind of genre fiction and he was frantically trying to read aloud the sweary bits so he could edit round them rather than leaving me with them (hhgttg my best friend and only fond memory of one terrible holiday). I think in regular life, one of the books I reach for most is Night Watch by Terry Pratchett. There's a huge emphasis on social change, revolutionary ideals and the radical idealistic spirit facing up to the reality of everyday issues of keeping everyone fed, clothed, and healthy ["You'd like truth, justice, and freedom, wouldnt yoy Sergeant?" "I'd like a hard boiled egg."]. There's a lot of reflection on your own history and your own future. There's a major subplot about the slide of civil society into fascism and about the vital importance of keeping a close fucking eye on yourself to make sure you never let yourself leap to that kind of extremist blinkered violent position. There's a recurring phrase in there which is to the effect of "the world is huge, and horrible, and terrifying, and incomprehensible, but there's one good deed that is the next thing you can do, and all anyone can ask is that you do it, and all that needs to drive you is that you must do it, you must take the next step with the thought in your mind of trying to make this next bit hurt the least it possibly can" - You Do The Job That's In Front Of You, and sometimes that job is defusing a riot and getting scared angry people a safe haven with soup and hot tea to keep them warm and maybe giving some of them arms to take up against tyranny, and sometimes it's training honesty into the new kids on the job, and sometimes it's standing up for what's right even if it gets you a beating, and sometimes it's sending everyone else to safety and staying back just to make sure the fascist burns to death in agony, because someone has to, and it shouldn't have to be anyone else. We're slowly approaching the annual reread for the 25th of May and honestly one day im gonna get a tattoo for it

This is probably an unpopular opinion among Ted Lasso fans, but the whole Nate storyline has both bored and irked me. Don't get me wrong, I adore this show and how sweet and wholesome it is, and I totally understand if people don't want to read any complaints about it. If that's you, stop reading here. 👍
Anyway: I have issues with the recent emphasis on forgiving someone like Nate.
I loved him at first, but then when he started to show his true colors I was very much in agreement with Coach Beard. Ted was always kind to Nate, always supported him, and the Nate turned on Ted because... his own father is a dick to him? My father was a much bigger piece of shit, but I don't treat people who constantly go out of their way to be kind to me like that.
I am not a forgiving person because I've seen over and over and over what happens to people when they keep on forgiving others for terrible behavior: they become welcome mats. That doesn't mean I dwell on the people who have wrong me—I just cut them off, don't let them waste my time, and my life is much better for it. So the whole 'forgive so-and-so for your own good' thing really doesn't make sense to me. Forgiving someone who has repeatedly wronged you or done something Very Bad to you opens you up to being treated like shit again—because, lbr, unlike in stories, most people don't completely change their personalities for the better. Yeah, it happens sometimes, but it's pretty rare.
So, back to Nate. Since the beginning of season 3, the audience has seen him... develop some? He's got a girlfriend, his dad was not mean to him once, he quit working for Rupert, and he's inexplicably a good waiter when just a few months ago, he was really into demeaning people and bossing them around. I haven't seen any explanation for why he would suddenly tolerate being a waiter, which—newsflash for anyone who hasn't done it—sucks. A lot of customers treat wait staff like garbage and I cannot imagine Nate handling that with a Customer Service Smile™, you know?
So all of that is kinda weird and not really super well explained, imo. But even weirder is that, unlike the audience, most of the other characters never saw any of these changes. For all they know, he's still the same Nate who was utterly awful for all of season 2. Characters like Jamie, Rebecca, Colin, and Isaac, who were varying levels of dicks at the beginning, showed the other characters that they wanted to make amends and worked to do so. They showed that they wanted to be better and gave others a reason to eventually trust them.
But Nate hasn't done any of this with the Richmond crew, so when Isaac, Colin, and Will (who Nate was particularly vile to) show up to invite him back to Richmond, I seriously thought the show was doing a weird dream sequence or something. My partner was equally baffled because it made NO SENSE. And yeah, I get that Ted has influenced people around him to be more forgiving etc. etc. but why would they invite Nate, who was horribly abusive to so many people on the team, back??? It would be like Sam inviting Akufo to dinner at his restaurant.
Anyway, I'm really not looking to argue with anyone. Sometimes you just need to vent, you know? And I just needed to vent about the Nate storyline, which I think has gotten really lame, and about how I take issue with the insistent forgiveness message of this last season. Yeah, I know it's fiction, but they are framing the show's messages as pretty explicit life advice. And the 'always forgive no matter what' message is simply not a universally good policy.

i'm in desperate need of funny/cute/wholesome tooru or suzumutsu headcanons please😖🙏 i made a terrible mistake and started rereading :re, i just got to rushima today and i'm NOT handling it well at all💀 i love reading your rambles so please just go on about whatever you have in mind<3
I hope you know this is a bood for every time I pick a section to reread and get in the same situation, anon. So, obviously, at this point I have a hoard of fluffy Mutsuki things to share with you. ANYWAY here are some of my favorites!
Mutsuki likes to wear cute, quirky socks when he's relaxing at home. Like the novelty ones that have cats with moustaches and stuff like that on them. (Suzumutsu addition: Mutsuki has a giraffe-patterned pair that he wears a lot because he loves how happy Suzuya gets every time he notices there's giraffes on his socks)
We know Mutsuki is one of two Quinx Squad members who can cook, but he is a big time stress-baker as well. Best not to even step in the kitchen when he's agonizing unless you're Suzuya and you're here to idly decorate while listening to his problems.
He is a plant dad 100%. Unlike Suzuya's revolving door of messed up foster cats, he seems like the type to have one plant that he is very attached to and passionate about taking care of for a long time.
He loves a rainy/gloomy day. Even walking down the street under his umbrella on the way to work is pleasant for him, not that he doesn't also like to spend the time curled up with a good book/movie and a cup of sugarless coffee.
As much as he cannot handle horror, especially the gory zombies and slashers Suzuya likes, he does read and watch a lot of mysteries! Even a light murder mystery from time to time. (Not that he wants Suzuya to be proud of him when he gets through the latter, except maybe he does a little bit)
They have to be written to exacting specifications to win his ace heart over and he is super picky, but he also has a slight guilty pleasure for romance novels. His other guilty pleasure is being sucked into basic nerd-adjacent millennial TV (think Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Vampire Diaries, shows like that)
He is a nutty professor drunk and his approaching Nutcracker in canon is actually on the tame side of his reactions to alcohol. This boy would break into shirtless karaoke if he was left to his own devices under the influence. (Yuri!!! on Ice AU anyone? definitely not soft-launching my new writing obsession)
He actually tells really funny stories and jokes when he wants to. They're just reserved for people he feels safe to let go around. Sometimes he can't get through them without making himself laugh.
He seldom swears and unless he's doing it because he's overcome with vehement anger or similar emotion, he stammers as soon as he decides he's going to hesitantly drop an f-bomb
Suzuya starts giving him little sticky notes with cute doodles and kind words when he realizes words actually do speak to some people, and Mutsuki is one of those people.
His favorite kinds of kisses are cheek and nose kisses. They turn him into a blushing, fidgeting puddle every time.

Sincerest & Eternal Thanks To @loveshotzz A magnificent writer & phenomenal human who sparked my Eddie love. I never would have posted this without her.
Inspired by @loveshotzz & notes by @eddieandbird
The week after your sixteenth birthday, you return home after school to find your dad standing in the driveway, smiling, beside a mint green Volkswagen Beetle. Steve had received a BMW the month before and chauffeured you back and forth from school every day. You excitedly sit in the driver's seat and turn over the engine. It loudly rumbles to life, making a high-pitched sort of jeet-jeet noise.
"Christ, that things loud."
"Watch your mouth, son." Your dad warns him.
"Thank you, Daddy. I love it!" You jump out of the car to hug him.
"She will be lucky if she doesn't wind up stranded on a deserted road, where some creep will find her." Steve rants.
"Who's the father here?" Your dad asks, rubbing the roof of your car. "I wouldn't put my little girl in something unreliable."
"I don't see why she needs a car. I'll take her wherever she needs to go."
"Son, she needs her own life. She can't keep following you around everywhere. You're not always going to be around." An uncomfortable silence falls over the three of you. "Go on, take it for a spin," your dad encourages. That car was your first taste of freedom, and you drove it for years until it was beyond repair.
During the summer before Junior year, one name changed your life forever. Jackie Taylor. What she lacked in brains, she made up for in boobs, and you hated her with an unbridled passion. You may still consider running her over if given the opportunity. She had a terrible reputation. Of course, Steve was obsessed with her. Nicole and Carol hated her too. She had slept with Nicole's boyfriend at the end of last year. The three of you froze her out of your social circle, but Steve was persistent. He climbed into your window the weekend before school started.
"You know I could be naked in here." You point out. You were lying on your bed with a stack of Teen Beat magazines. He sits on the stool of your vanity table.
"I keep trying," he teases. "I need to ask you for a favor."
"What?" you ask, suspicious of his tone.
"It's about Jackie."
"No!" you cry and hide your head under your pillow.
"Come on. It's for me" You feel the bed dipping beside you as he sits. He peeks underneath your pillow, giving you his best puppy dog face. "You love me. You will do anything for me." He says in a sing-song voice.
"Ugh! What? What do you want?" He smiles, knowing he's won.
"I just want you to be friends with Jackie. Nicole and Carol are so mean to her. If she had a nice girl to be friends with, I don't think she'd be so-"
"Loose?"
"Hey, that's my girlfriend you're talking about." He warns. "I just think you would be a good influence. And if you accept her, the other girls will too."
"Please don't make me do this," you whine. "This is going to end badly, I know it. Besides, she hates me. She'll never agree."
"She's fine with it."
"You already told her I would, didn't you?" You ask, narrowing your eyes. God, did he make you mad sometimes.
"I'll owe you one," he promises.
So you made an effort for him, and he was right. Once you accepted her, so did the rest of the group. At first, she wasn't so bad. You sat with her at a few of Steve's swim meets. She was friendly and complimentary. She sucked you in by repeating the nice things Steve had told her about you. She started sitting with you during the few classes you shared. She was bubbly and outgoing, and you started understanding why Steve liked her. She spent the night at your house exactly once. You were having a great time until Steve knocked at your window, taking her with him. She returned a few hours later with her hair a mess and her clothes inside out. Unimpressed, you reminded him you weren't running a daycare.
Then you realized his ulterior motive. You were supposed to watch her. You weren't the only one she was friendly with. She flirted shamelessly with anyone that gave her any attention. She started talking to you about other boys. It began under the guise of wanting to help you find a boyfriend, but it became pretty obvious she was shopping for herself.
You noticed that she would go missing during parties when Steve was occupied with beer pong or friends from his team. She crossed the line when she practically threw herself at Mike Andrews during health class.
"Hi, Mike." She giggled, blocking the aisle with her leg. "If you want to pass, you must pay the toll."
"Oh yeah? What do you want, Jackie?" He asked, mesmerized by the cleavage practically popping out of her low-cut sweater.
"I'm not sure yet. How about we talk about it at Tina's party this weekend?"
After he was seated. You asked, "What about Steve?"
"Oh, relax, I'm just kidding around." She waved you off.
Between school work and Steve’s love life, it was a stressful start to a new school year, and you were ready to blow off a little steam. Greg Collins was already in the backseat of Steve's car when he came to pick you up for Tina's party that Saturday. You happily bounced to the passenger side, wearing your new navy polka dot skirt and light blue button-up. It's a little shorter than what you usually wear. The flowy material hits mid-thigh instead of just over the knee. As you sank into the soft leather of the front seat, it rode up a little higher. Steve stared down at your legs and then gave you a look you weren't sure how to interpret.
"What?" You ask, buckling yourself in.
"That's what you're wearing?" he asks, pulling out of your driveway.
"Yeah. It's new. What's wrong with it?"
"You're going to have to move to the backseat when we get Jackie's," he says, ignoring your question.
You cross your arm and huff. You always ride shotgun. "Don't worry, there's plenty of room back here," Greg teases.
"You try anything, and you're dead Collins," Steve warns, looking at him in the rearview. That reaction made up for having to change seats. Almost. Jackie came out of her house wearing tight acid-washed jeans and a crop top that clearly had nothing underneath, judging by how she jiggled as she walked. Steve was practically drooling all over his steering wheel.
"Hi Greg," Jackie gave him a little wave and wink after shoving her tongue down Steve's throat as a greeting. You pushed your jealousy and distrust to the back of your mind, determined to have a fun night.
Once you got to Tina's, you went straight for the keg. Steve’s early swim meet in Noblesville the following day meant he wouldn’t drink too much and would be sober enough to drive. You down your first beer faster than usual and go for a second. Raise a little hell by Trooper is blasting through the speakers in the living room, where you join Nicole and Carol to dance. You bounce on your toes and swing your hips, raising your cup in the air while singing out the lyrics. You catch Steve watching you from his spot on the couch where he sat with Jackie and a few members of the swim team. You raise your glass toward him in a little toast before taking a big gulp and turning back to your dance partners. He smiles and shakes his head before going back to his conversation. Madonna is next. You grab hold of Carol to keep her dancing with you. Soon a few more people come over to join you, and you end up dancing until you're sweaty and out of breath. Two beers had turned into three, and you're feeling tipsier than usual.
You refill your cup again, vowing to sip it this time, and walk outside to let the night air cool you down. Tina's parents had recently returned from Hawaii, and her mother insisted on making the back patio into a tiki utopia. Colorful string lights ran along the side of the house, complimenting the pineapple torches that dotted the lawn. There were parrot and tiki god statues next to signs welcoming you to paradise. In the center of all the kitsch, Eddie Munson sits at a table across from Greg Adams.
"Hi Greg," you say, stopping beside Eddie. You dramatically lean across the table towards him, propping your head up on your elbows, bending at the waist with your ass up in the air. From this angle, he can see right down your shirt, and you squeeze your arms at your sides to push your cleavage up even further. "Do you want to take me on a walk?"
Greg swallows, and his eyes are definitely where you expected them to be. Not on your face. "Umm…I would love to.” He glances nervously towards the house. “But Harrington will cut off my balls."
"Too bad. Maybe next time." You say as you plop yourself onto Eddie's lap and take his arm to wrap it around your waist. Greg is staring, dumbfounded.
"Bye, Greg." You give him a little finger wave. He stands and leaves, no doubt going to tattle.
You turn to make eye contact with Eddie. His amused face is inches from yours. "Hi." You push yourself off his lap and take the seat next to him.
"Greg Adams? Really, Princess?"
"Nah. I knew he'd never go for it. Sometimes it's just nice to feel wanted." You kick off your shoe and put your leg on Eddie's lap. His hand wraps around your ankle.
"I wouldn't think that would be a problem for you. Since you're scaring off my customers, what can I do for you?"
"Do you want to have a drink with me?"
"I'm working, Princess. I think maybe you've already had enough for both of us?" He eyes your cup.
You narrow your eyes at him and take a big swig of your beer. "Okay. How about some conversation then. I think you might be the only interesting person here."
"Is the stimulating conversation about balls not to your liking, Your Highness?"
You roll your eyes and start to pull your leg away, but he grips it tighter and runs his hand up a little further on your calf, leaving little tingles in its wake.
"Uh-oh. Here comes Daddy. He doesn't look very happy. I guess I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar." You look over your shoulder. Steve is standing by the door, glaring at you with his hands on his hips. You drop your leg and slip back into your shoe. "You should probably run along before Daddy takes you over his knee. Unless that's what you are hoping for? What do you think, Princess? Would you like a good spanking?"
You finish your beer. Standing up, you place your hands on the armrests of Eddie's chair, caging him in. You lean forward to whisper in his ear. "It depends on who's giving it." You pull away, feeling triumphant that you got in the last word. The look on his face makes you second-guess that as heat spreads through you. You decide to leave before anything more is said.
"What did Munson want?" Steve asks as you join him. "Nothing. I'm just making friends." You tell him, throwing your arms around his neck. His hands land on your hips." Uh-huh," He says, looking behind you, still glaring at Eddie. "I think everyone wants to be your friend in that skirt."
"What does that make you then?" He looks down at you with soft eyes and a cocky smirk. "Me? I'm your best friend." He's smiling. This is the Steve you love, playful and open. "I think it's time to leave. I’ve got to get up early, and I think you’ve made enough friends tonight."
"Sure. I need the ladies. I'll meet you at the car."
There's a line for the downstairs bathroom, so you climb the stairs to use the one connected to Tina's parent's room. At the end of the hallway, two people are leaning against a closed door. It was the noises they were making that drew your attention. Mike Andrews had one hand on Jackie's ass, the other under her shirt, their mouths suctioned together. You clear your throat loudly. When they notice you standing there, Jackie doesn't even have the decency to look guilty.
"Steve is ready to leave," you tell her as Mike pushes past you to head down the stairs.
"Don't look at me like that," Jackie says, ensuring everything is tucked back under her shirt. "It was just a kiss. We aren't married or anything."
"You tell him, or I will."
"You're just jealous. Move on already. He's not the only big dick in school."
"You would know." You say, crossing your arms.
"You just screwed up, Bitch."
Sunday afternoon, you sit on the trunk of Steve’s car in the school parking lot, waiting for him to return with the rest of the team. You tell him what happened at Tina’s last night and your suspicions about the other parties. The pained look on his face breaks your heart. You’re no fan of Jackie’s, but you love him enough that you want him to be happy, even if that’s not with you.
"She's cheating on you. I'm sorry." He nods and leaves you standing alone in the parking lot.
That evening Carol and Nicole wouldn't take your calls. Neither would Steve. You finally cornered Carol the next day during first period. "Jackie told us how you're obsessed with Steve, and you made up that lie to break them up. That's pretty low. Especially dragging Mike into it."
"That's not true. Why would I do that?"
"Because you've had a crush on him since middle school, and everyone knows it. Steve knows it too."
You feel like the room is spinning. You need to talk to Steve. You walk right onto the basketball court in the middle of his gym class, blocking his way.
"I can't talk to you right now." He tries blowing you off. But you stand your ground holding his eyes.
"Harrington!" Coach blows his whistle. "Take care of your business off my court."
You follow him outside, and he repeats what Carol told you.
"And you believe her? You think I would lie to you?"
"I don't know. Haven't you been lying to me for a long time?" He asks with his hands on his hips.
"I knew this was going to happen," you yell.
"Hey, lower your voice. Don't make a scene. She said I have to choose. You or her. I can't lose her. I think I might love her."
"This is a nightmare. I just need to wake up." You say, rubbing your temples.
"Look, it won't be forever. Just give her a chance to calm down. Then you can apologize, and things will go back to normal."
"You want me to apologize to her? What's wrong with you? She's probably cheating on you with half the school." You're yelling, and people have stopped to watch.
He grabs your forearm and pulls you closer. "I think you should take this time and make some friends of your own." He says quietly in a calm voice. "Maybe you'll even find a boyfriend. I want that for you. You're not happy hanging around with me all the time. The truth is you're way too good for me. You should try and find someone better."

I would like to know as much as you're willing to share about the teacher jamie au please
buckle up Anon because I have A Lot To Say!!
So, the teacher Jamie au was born from me rewatching the series and thinking "what if Jamie did literally anything else but a reality show when he left man city" and then I combined it with my personal headcanon that Jamie would be a teacher were he not a footballer.
I have a lot of thoughts and theories about Why jamie quit Man City to go on a reality show when canonically all Jamie cared about in the first season was football, and being the best at it, that can be boiled down to the basic components of I think Jamie realized that he needed to get the fuck away from his dad and Manchester and took the first opportunity that presented itself for him to do so. So then I took it a step further and I thought "hey, what if Jamie quit football entirely because he thought he couldn't play and escape his dads influence"
So in this au, instead of going on Lust Conquers All, Jamie quits Man City, and just kind of drops off the face of the earth? He reconnects with his mum and reevaluates his life and makes the decision that he doesn't want to return to football and has to figure out something else to do with his life instead. SO, after a couple of months of being directionless and essentially hiding out as his mums house he decides to go to university and become a teacher for reasons I'll delve into in the actual fic!
the majority of the fic itself is actually taking place five years later, when Jamie is now a teacher at a school in Richmond and he's been actively avoiding anything to do with football for just as long. So obviously that's when the universe decides to fuck with him, and the Richmond team sign up for a mentorship program at the school Jamie is teaching at, which puts them directly back into each others paths.
So now Jamie is forced into confronting his past that he's been ignoring, and the team is forced with confronting a Jamie that has undergone monumental amounts of character development that they didn't get to witness and don't know if they can trust. The last time they all saw each other, Jamie was still the bully, he was a shit person who treated them terribly and now he is a year three teacher who is kind and trying his best to be a good role model to a bunch of small children. There's a lot of cognitive dissonance there, and I want this fic to really explore the relationship of forgiveness and redemption in a different light!
Jamie decided to be better independently, and he will continue to be better regardless of if the team forgives him for how he acted or not, because being a better person does not hinge on other peoples perception of you and that Is So Important To Me! It's about reconciling with the fact that sometimes, people change when you aren't around to see it and that you cannot always judge them by their worst actions!
I am obsessed with this story and also the idea of Jamie interacting with small children routinely, I think he'd be great at it!
