In motion question for purely research purposes-

how easily can bunny be pursuaded into dying her hair to the timberwolves colour (blue I believe) after a good season? And

1) whose gonna encourage her (in my head alex is def one of them)

2) whose gonna begrudgingly help her apply it on while shaking their head

3) on scale of 1-10 is how bad is her meltdown after she realises that its not.. the best colour to have on your head (oscar's definitely trying to be empathetic but he cant stop laughing)

OKAY i love this!!! but i read it and sort of could imagine it having happened in the years before Oscar joined the team. and then i got carried away so. a lil in motion blurb perhaps? set during freshman year!

“This is a bad idea,” Max says from the doorway, nose wrinkled.

“It’s a little late for that opinion,” Lando snarks, brows furrowed in concentration. “The dye is already on her hair.”

Alex, who’s sitting in the countertop in the bathroom, is grinning. “It’s a great idea!”

His hair is freshly bleached, a bright blonde shock atop his head. Hs’s next in line for dye after you. Lily’s going to scream, for one reason or another, when she shows up and sees it. You don’t have a boyfriend to disappoint, thank god. Lando spreads a bit more product onto your hair. There’s no going back now.

“Does anyone in this house think through their impulsive thoughts?” Max asks, voice full of disapproval. “Yesterday Charles almost bought a puppy in the grocery store parking lot. I had to drag him away.”

All three of you turn to Max with frowns. “You could’ve gotten a puppy and you didn’t?” You ask, jutting your lower lip out. “That was a stupid decision.”

“Says the girl with the dye in her hair,” Max says, rolling his eyes.

Half an hour later, you and Alex have rinsed the bright blue dye from both of your heads, and you’re taking turns with an ancient blow dryer that you’re sure one of the old players’ girlfriends had left behind. Lily’s due to come over any minute, and you’re rollercoastering between regret and excitement about your new hair color. It’s just your ends, not the whole head. It’ll be easy to chop it off if it comes down to it. Alex is grinning. Max is still in the doorway, watching on in horror.

“It’s just hair,” Lando says, elbowing you.

You laugh. “Easy for you to say.”

“Yeah, did you let Lando encourage you?” Max asks. “You remember when he shaved his own head on a livestream, right?”

“I raised money for charity with that!” Lando snaps.

“Yes, but-“ he pauses. “Why did you even dye your hair, anyways?” Max finally asks.

You shrug. “Playoffs are coming up. Timberwolf blue.”

“That is not Timberwolf blue.”

You huff and turn to him in the chair you’re still sitting in, in the bathroom. The motion makes your still healing knee twinge just slightly- all three of them see the look of pain on your face and freeze. You let out a breath, and the pain fades.

“Let me have this,” you ask him, looking up with a sad expression.

Max melts. Lando rolls his eyes at you in the mirror. Less than a year as friends and you already know just how to play to his weaknesses. You know Lando’s too- he just doesn’t know it yet.

Lily ends up loving it, on both of you, and Max warms up to the idea eventually. But when they lose in the first round of the playoffs, you quickly grow sick of the color. It’s quite bright, quite startling, and it seems to remind the whole team of the loss. Max takes you to the hairdresser, pays for your haircut, and begs you to never dye your hair blue again.

“What if you win the championship?” You ask, smiling teasingly at him.

He snorts out a laugh. “Then I will help you dye it myself.”

hang on I have to rant

if you're not already aware, the five-man band is a literary device used to classify teams of 5 characters. it's what I call an external trope, meaning that you fit the trope to the characters, they don't innately have it.

a:tla has a pretty solid one, and it's well known enough, so I'm gonna use it to show you what I mean

it is comprised of:

the Leader, who directs the group and is usually the main character (aang)

the Lancer, who serves as character foil to the Leader and is often a bad-guy-turned-good or rogue element (zuko)

the Big Guy, who solves physical problems for the team and is frequently a goofball (toph)

the Smart Guy, who solves technical/logistical problems for the team and typically serves as an "idea guy" (sokka)

and the Heart, who solves emotional problems for the team- if there's only one girl, she's probably the Heart (katara)

there are three star wars groups I want to look at: delta squad, domino squad, and clone force 99.

first is domino squad, as they fit this trope the easiest.

fives is the Leader, the most strategizing one in the group

droidbait is the Lancer, far less cautious and more prone to injury than the others (the foil to fives' effectiveness)

hevy is the Big Guy, serving the oh-so-common "big gun demolitions expert" variant

echo is the Smart Guy, in the "guys, come on, stick to the PLAN" variant

cutup is the Heart, lightening the mood with jokes (hence the name)

the first to die is droidbait, leaving echo to serve as fives' foil, which allows us to see that fives is probably the most prototypical clone of the bunch. then hevy sacrifices himself, and cutup gets eaten, leaving only fives and echo until the Citadel arc which I haven't yet seen.

then we have delta squad. the thing about delta squad is that there are four of them, and while the four-man band is a thing, they make this perfect incomplete five-man band that I think is really really tasty.

boss (player character) is the Leader, guiding the team

sev is the Lancer, playing the "snarky rogue" archetype

scorch is the Big Guy, again the "big gun demolitions" variant- but with the added flavor of being very by-the-book (which we see the consequences of when he aligns with not only the empire but doctor hemlock himself in tbb)

fixer is the Smart Guy, tech expert

notice anything?

there's no Heart.

and that works. these are clone commandos- meant to be the most effective troops the republic has. they almost never interact socially outside of their squad, and when they do it's kept pretty professional.

we see that again in clone force 99, or as they call themselves, the bad batch

hunter is the Leader, his enhanced senses leaving him the most generalist of the batch (and also he's technically their sergeant)

crosshair is the Lancer, a "silent, ruthless efficiency" type

wrecker is the Big Guy, "big gun demolitions" variant yet again (I told you it was common) in the goofball flavor

tech is the Smart Guy, btw he's really well done and it never feels like he just "knows because he's smart" you can always tell how he figures things out

again, there's no Heart. but wait.

in the Bad Batch arc in clone wars, they pick up another member- echo. we don't see much of echo's interaction with the batch in that arc, but when we come back, echo is solidly in a sort of almost-but-not-quite Heart role. and then.

omega shows up in the "sixth ranger" role, there to shake up the group dynamic. throughout season one, we see omega slowly take over echo's role as Heart- and as this happens, it becomes clear that that was the role he was playing, as he talks hunter through how to best take care of omega. but omega, tagalong kid as she is, is much, much more suited to the Heart role than echo, and she takes his place- which allows echo to run off and have his own adventures with rex throughout seasons two and three, WHICH WORKS because echo is a regular clone who joined the batch later in life and thus isn't quite the same as the others, but omega is a deviant clone just like them!

Chapter 236

Gojo actively chose to fight on December 24th (a day considered romantic for Japan) which is now the day both Geto and him have died on. Even Kenjaku acknowledges the days significance with

"Ha ha! How romantic. Isn't it gross to make plans with each other on Christmas eve?"

Have you ever considered Vox with a gamer partner? Or a Hacker partner?

The Gamer would have to be a soft Vox, picture them just hiding out in his penthouse waiting to give Vox attention whenever he's around. They would try cooking food from games but hey it's the thought that counts right. Maybe they have game related powers. Could happily aid Vox with getting VoxTech into the gaming market.

Hacker could be any kinda Vox. Vox struggles with code, Hacker can handle it. Someone trying to compete in the tech market, give the Hacker ten minutes and Voxtech owns that company.

Anything you write from these ideas I'm sure would be amazing!

I’m gonna be honest… this threw me off for a moment lol. I love it, my brain just isn’t working! You know how finals season can be. Anyway, sorry for the late reply but here’s what I’ve got! (Feel free to request again or clarify if I misunderstood anything!)

Game Over (Vox x Hacker!Reader)

-You knew coding better than most- not that it was hard, considering it wasn’t a particularly common skill. What was a surprise was your understanding of Vocode, a coding language Vox made up specifically for Voxtek. It’s indecipherable to most, and even himself sometimes, yet you’ve managed to get a perfect understanding of it.

-You didn’t really use your knowledge for good. You were in Hell for a reason, after all.

-Maybe you were hired for your proficiency in coding. Maybe you tried to hack into Voxtek systems. Either way, Vox had you on lock and key.

-You found that you didn’t mind too much. He used your skills for his own gain and supplied you with high quality tech, something you’d never have gotten otherwise.

-Of course, you’re more than ‘business’ partners now. Your relationship goes beyond that.

-He was nice enough, when it came to you. You weren’t exempt from his bad moods or anything, but he was kinder towards you. He made an effort, and that’s what counts.

-He often overworked himself, lashing out when he was frustrated. You could recognize these moods easily, and always went through the Voxtek systems to see who had fucked up to get him in a bad mood this time. You took care of it for him.

-Vox struggled with Vocode sometimes, and often called you in to help him. He’d be in a huff and demand you show him how you did it, explaining every step. And so you did.

-He sat in your lap as you worked, insisting it was because he didn’t want to miss a single thing. You noticed his system ran a bit hotter when this happened. Not overheating, but he seemed to like it.

-So he sat there like a cat, stubborn. You explained the ins and outs as best you could, but he seemed distracted as you moved. You shifted him a little to reach what you needed to better. He seemed less interested in actually learning and more interested in just being near you.

-Sometimes you suspected he wasn’t having a problem with the code and that he just wanted to spend time with you. You didn’t mind. It was endearing.

Bonus!

As I sat at my desk, immersed in lines of code, Vox's loomed over me like a comforting shadow. He leaned against my chair, his screen resting on my shoulder as he watched me work with keen interest.

"What are you working on?" he asked, his voice soft and curious.

I glanced up at him, a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "Just some maintenance on the Vocode compiler," I said, gesturing to the screen filled with lines of complex code.

Vox had previously seemed to be admiring something- and it wasn’t the code. Now his gaze shifted to the screen as he studied the intricate patterns of code on the screen. "You never cease to amaze me," he murmured, his voice filled with genuine awe.

I felt a warm flush of pride spread through me at his words. He didn’t hand out compliments, usually he didn’t like to acknowledge that he had any attachment to anyone- he saw that as weakness. The fact he’d be so open with me was nice, something I was still getting used to.

"Thank you," I said, quieter than before. I had a small, sort of happy and content smile on my face.

Without another word, Vox pulled me into his lap, his arms wrapping around me in a tight embrace. I leaned back against his chest, reveling in the warmth of his presence as I continued to work. The soft hum of his screen head was comforting, as was the white noise that accompanied it when I took a break to give him a kiss or compliment him.

Together, we made the perfect team, in my opinion. Absolute power couple. As the hours passed we switched positions a little so I could work easier.

As the soft glow of the computer screen illuminated the dimly lit room, I sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by a tangle of wires and circuit boards. Vox sat comfortably in my lap, his head resting against my chest as he watched me work with a mixture of fascination and admiration.

"So, let me get this straight," Vox said, his voice tinged with awe. "You're telling me that by bypassing this firewall and rerouting the encrypted data through this server, we can access their entire database?"

I nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of my lips. "That's right," I said lightly. I gave him a quick kiss,” my fingers flying across the keyboard with practiced ease. "With a little bit of my coding magic, we'll have everything we need to give Voxtek the upper hand."

Vox leaned back against me, his body relaxed against mine as he watched the code scroll across the screen. "You're incredible," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

I felt a warmth spread through me at his words, a sense of pride swelling in my chest. "I just do what I can to help," I said with a grin, though secretly pleased by his praise.

And as the night wore on and the lines of code blurred together in a whirlwind of binary, I knew that there was nowhere else I'd rather be than right here, with Vox in my arms, making magic happen one line of code at a time.

the "truthfulness to the story" that tim, oliver and ryan mentioned confuses me tbh some people take that as future buddie confirmation but to me it sounds more like they *don't* want to do it because it might look like they're just doing it for the fans? which just isn't true because anyone who watched from s2 knows it's all there, it's not just fanfic

yeah, I get what you mean and I kinda agree, but then there is Oliver saying that he agrees with the fans and can see what we see and he watches the same show etc etc.

I think more than anything, what's happening is that the buddie question is probably the most common one being asked; there's been like only one interview where it didn't come up at all since they started doing press for the season and there really is only so much they can say about it, you know?

like, they can't just go "yeah we'll make it canon" or "no, that's not the plan" because 1) no one ever just goes and spoils such a major storyline, for such a major TV show no less and 2) they just don't know.

I mean I'm a 100% sure that it's the plan between the three of them, this is what they're working towards, but you never know what'll happen, right? the bi Buck storyline only came about because Arielle wasn't available; sure, they had plans for it beforehand, but they didn't know if it'll ever fit into the arcs they were telling and I think it's the same with buddie and well, everything on the show, really.

they wanna do it and they wanna do it right. if the natural course of the show doesn't go there, nor will they and there's a lot that needs to be sorted before they could go there, including wrapping up two relationships, delving into Eddie's identity — and not wanting to rush any of that, otherwise it would just be chasing the goal and forgetting about the journey and the show and the ship would just crash and burn with it.

so I guess my point is that what they are saying (and what I've been saying) is: be patient.

Weekend at Bobby's aka How Bobby Got His Soul Back is such a pinnacle episode for both S6's plot and characters.

It is one of the rare episodes that doesn't revolve around Sam and Dean. Part of this is because it was the first episode Jensen directed & less screentime helps.

Characters

Many characters are brought front and center this episode.

Jody is brought back and is shown to already be an ally to Bobby and the Winchesters. She tried to help with the FBI agent and also risks her career to save Rufus from jail. Her and their loyalty will just grow stronger as the show goes on.

Rufus is also brought back here and we get to see Bobby with his oldest friend. Their chemistry is unmatched and they should have had more episodes!

Garth is mentioned for the first time.

And of course Crowley. We learn about his past, his name, son, where he's from, as well as that he has been promoted as the King of Hell.

Sam and Dean get their asses handed to them by Bobby because he is right. Sam and Dean can be selfish, I would argue that that is a small theme of the season that leads to the ultimate conflict with Cas at the end.

But mainly we get to see Bobby in his every day element. How many other hunters he helps, always answering the phone, staying up late into the night to help, even breaking into the library. I love this character deep dive of him we get.

Foreshadowing

- Burning of bones. We learn that you can burn a demon's bones. Later used as the reason why Bobby & Sam suspect Cas of betrayal.

- Crowley becoming King of Hell, making him a big bad for further in the season/series

- When Bobby is yelling at Sam and Dean about their selfishness, he mentions how he does everything for them. He is always there to help them when they need it. This same sentiment and words will come out of Cas' mouth later that season when he talks to Dean.

- Did I mention Garth?

Comedy

The amount of dry and dirty jokes in this episode is high. Crowley is just dripping with semi dirty jokes, from the I hope this is paint, to the reason he sells his soul, he is at peak evil villainy. I love it.

WAB offers so much as an episode and it deserves to be in the top episodes of the season.

Camerawork is used to create visual gags, there is even physical comedy with Bobby going through the window.

Sam and Dean are brought into the plot and only really shown through phone calls.

Overall, the style of this episode is different than others and makes it standout.

I LOVE Eremika! But it does have its flaws.

I may not be the only Eremika shipper who still sees the slight problems about either their relationship or story around them in general, but I’m going to talk about it anyway.

(Warning! Slight spoilers for my friend)

There are two main problems people have with this ship - Eren barely showing signs that he loves Mikasa romantically and Mikasa’s love for Eren coming off as obsessive.

Yes, Eren may have shown less interest in Mikasa in the beginning but hey, he was still only a teen focussing heavily on his goals. At least starting in season 2, he stopped yelling at her whenever she tried to care for him, that’s a start. I’ll agree there should’ve been more signals that he grew some feelings for her overtime; especially before all the season 4 crap or maybe not go down that ‘evil’ path at all if you ask me.

As for Mikasa, *sigh* she had so much more potential to be MORE than just her love for Eren. Like, she’s already shown to be strong next to Levi, and some extra interactions with the other characters would’ve been nice as well (a lot of them were cut from the manga for the anime). I’d tone her obsession down a bit and maybe give her an actual goal in her life other than protect Eren, but still have those moments where she chats to him about their said futures.

One more thing: I think the biggest flaw that sets a lot of people off was they were first introduced living in the same house. This gave off that they were siblings at first, and that leaves a weird taste in my mouth if that makes sense. Why didn’t they just gradually reveal in the first episode that she’s not related to the Jaeger’s, like saying her last name or bringing up what happened that night at the cabin. Anything to make it more clear for the audience.

After all that, why do I still ship them? That’s the keyword: potential. Plus the brief moments they did had together before S4 really tug at my heartstrings, if only we could’ve seen that more along with a more believable transition of their romantic feelings for one another (mainly on Eren’s part). I love them a lot, but it’s wrong to ignore the flaws with their story and I’ll never tire of saying they deserved soo much better than what their story gave. 🗝🧣

“I’m so into you, I can barely breathe”

As you stepped into the sleazy bar, you suddenly became very hyper aware that you were the only female in a few-mile radius who wasn’t wearing a low cut something-or-another. You trailed close behind Morgan and Hotch, as you all made your way to the monologuing misogynist hidden away in the back corner of the bar. Viper’s voice carried through the air- saying something that, you’re sure would’ve made your blood boil, had you been paying any attention- his poisonous eyes landing on you and smirking. A shiver went down your spine as you subtly shifted your gaze over to Hotch, who was watching Viper intently- but his eyes softened when he glanced back at you. “Agent, you alright?” You nod, avoiding his gaze as Viper finishes talking- in fear of your cheeks flushing if you look directly into Hotch’s eyes again. You feel his gaze on you, until it shifts and you instead look up as Viper walks towards the three of you.

“So, what, you think this guy, this unsub took one of my classes?” “He copied your ‘the camera adds 10 pounds' routine verbatim.” Hotch replies. Viper smirks. “Yeah, that’s a good gag.” You bring your eyes up to meet him, speaking for the first time, “If you could just give us your attendance lists, it might help us find him.”

Viper toys with it for a minute, before a defiantly sassy “No.” “No?” You repeat. “My clients expect a certain amount of confidentiality. I won’t compromise that.” Hotch then continues to banter with him about warrants, then something about outwitting “alpha males like you” to Morgan before you speak up, “What club were you at last night?” Hotch’s jaw has been clenched slightly this whole time- he shouldn’t have had you come along on this particular questioning. With every passing second, he became less and less in control of his actions, as jealousy clouded his judgment. The way that that man was looking at you, all that he wanted to do was grab your waist and show that stupid snake man who you really belong to. But, no, you weren’t even his, regardless of how inappropriate that would be if you were. He grins, very obviously checking you out as his eyes travel up and down your body. “It’s a legitimate question.” Derek counters, watching his body language.” “Firstly, How many times do you have to rely on your badge to score, baldy? Secondly-” He turns to Hotch, standing opposite you while Morgan follows him intently with his eyes. “Here, in this harsh light, you may have the advantage..” Viper suddenly takes a step towards you, inching his face so close you can smell the tobacco on his breath, “But meet me on my turf, and ohoho, the things I could make you do..”

A flame erupts inside you, wanting more than anything to cuss him out- but a tall figure is in front of you before you get the chance to respond. Hotch’s voice rang out, cold as he passed the man a business card. “Call us with any questions. And, if you do, I can be certain that if you talk to my agent like that again, it won’t end this peacefully.” You could hear the anger in Aaron’s voice, and you scoffed. As if you couldn’t fucking protect yourself. You feel Derek’s hand on your shoulder, indicating towards the exit. “You okay, blondie?” You shake your head, muttering under your breathe, “All he sees me as is a fucking child, I can protect myself.” Derek furrows his brows slightly, letting you walk to the SUV ahead as he lays back and walks in pace with Hotch. “How much longer are you going to pretend that you don't want to kiss her, boss man?” He winks at Hotch, before hopping in the passengers seat. Hotch’s hands clench the wheel as he drives. That stupid guy. The things that I could do to him, I’d make him regret ever letting his filthy face near her’s. She needs my protection, she hasn’t learned how to calmly react yet, that’s it, she’s new, that’s why I want to protect her. His eyes flick up and find yours in the backseat, as you sit there with your arms crossed, quickly shaking your head and looking out the window when you feel his eyes on you. Every fucking time. He never lets you stand up for yourself, never lets you fight back, half the time he finds an excuse to make you stay out of the unsub crime scenes. Who the fuck was he to defend you? His stupid, handsome face.. Morgan observes you both with a slight smirk, shooting a text to his baby girl that says something along the lines of “I think Blondie and Hotch may finally realize something’s up between them.”

“Been waiting, and waiting for you, to make a move”

As soon as the SUV pulls into the Georgia Field Office, Hotch gets out, with a curt “Agent. My office, now.” before slamming the car door behind him. You grumble and shoot an angry look in his direction, before following him into the Field office, and into his makeshift headquarters. As soon as the door shuts behind you, you start, “Do you not think I’m strong enough for this team, sir?” He sits down, folding his hands and watching you intently as you pace. “I do.” “Is there something weak about me? Do I not make it clear that I know how to deal with suspects and criminals?” “I do not see you as weak, and I certainly know your ability to argue-” You interrupt him, “Then what, sir, what is it? Every damn time, you just cut in front of me as if I’m your daughter or something, I mean, come on, I know I’m younger than you but I-” “That isn’t why I do it, you haven’t worked here long enough to get your footing yet, I’ve done it with Prentiss, Reid, when they first started-” “Then why do they look so surprised every time? It’s like I’m some special pearl, I can only ask questions but never actually interrogate or go catch unsubs-” You’re both yelling by now, and Hotch has stood up and made his way towards you, “Agent, I do not appreciate your tone with me right now.” “Well I don’t appreciate your- your- your weird, jealous, overprotective-” Your stop, chest heaving as he towers over you. You thought he would be angry, on the verge of dismissing you, but instead, his eyes have gone soft as he gazes down at you. Suddenly, you feel his lips on yours. You’re kissing your boss, and it feels so beautiful, so good, so right, as he wraps his arms around your waist and you bring yours around his neck. He pulls away, immediately trying to step back, sputtering apologies, but you grab his hands and kiss him again, with more passion than before. He gives in, for a moment, but pulls away firmly after a few more seconds, and as quickly as it had happened it was over. “Tha, uhm, that will be all, Agent. Thank you” Hotch says breathlessly, motioning towards the door as he resumes his seat at the paint-chipped desk.

Well, fuck.

I started rewatching Buffy and forgot how much I HATE Xander. With a passion, I believe he is just the embodiment of gross and creepy. An incel before incels were a thing.

I have seriously no idea how Buffy and Willow stay friends with him other than for the narrative. If he was less toxic I think he would actually work as the character Joss Whedon tried to write him as. I think that there’s a part of his younger self that SHOULD be immature but beyond that he shouldn’t be so fucking PREDATORY. His relationship to women in this show is uncomfortable and gross. He never evolves out of his womanizer persona. He has basically no substance and is only in the friend group because of his toxic relationship to women. He never brings any real value to his friendships yet reacts horribly when he is dismissed by them.

His obsession with Buffy is just uncomfortable and NEVER ENDS. He acts as if he is owed affection by her when they first meet. He is only friends with her because he wants to go out with her and has sexual fantasies of her. That is doubled after he finds out she’s the slayer. His relationship with Buffy isn’t the only example. His dismissive relationship with Willow has always annoyed me. He basically ignored her until she started dating Oz, suddenly unable to hold himself back and play with her feelings for him. He is well aware of her crush on him and using that as an advantage to CHEAT ON CORDELIA. WHO HE HAD HARASSED AND MAKE EXPLICIT COMMENTS TO BEFORE THEY GOT TOGETHER. He treats all three of them horribly. It seems he is only ever friends with them in the goal of having sex with them.

Don’t even get me started on his predatory relationship with Dawn and the end of his relationship with Anya. It’s the exact same problem he has with every other woman in his life (other than his mother) AND HE NEVER CHANGES IN SEVEN SEASONS. HE IS BASICALLY JUST A PROP AND A WASTE OF SPACE WITH PREDATORY TENDENCIES. He is literally just Joss Whedon’s self insert because there is no other use or value to Xander.

Now I have previously liked Xander. I don’t think he’s evil but that doesn’t change his disgusting behaviour and lack of respect towards women in his life. I really wish this aspect of Xander’s character was changed to bring value to the story or deepen his connection to women to something more than just sexual. I think there are ATTEMPTS to do so but to me they usually fail and the result is the same as season one Xander.

This is an ever evolving opinion I have of Xander, one I have been sitting with for like 5+ years. With my current rewatch I’m gonna keep it in mind and expand on my thinking as I go through the seasons.

Thinking about how in that interview when he was on Man City he was his usual cocky self talking about carrying his team, but he actually didn’t say anything bad about anyone outside or Roy and Ted. He talked about how all of the players on Richmond were good lads except for Roy Kent and called Ted a rodeo clown and Nate showed the team it and they all hated him enough to start throwing shit despite the fact that he wasn’t saying anything he wouldn’t have to their faces if he was still on the team and despite the fact that he was actually nicer to all the players except for Roy than he ever had been in person

Thinking about how Isaac went from being his friend and starting shit with him to breaking a TV because of his hatred toward him when Jamie really hadn’t even done anything to him and Jamie coming back to Isaac hating him as if they weren’t getting up to the exact same shit together when Jamie was there and if Isaac thought he himself was a way better person now and so was Colin but there was no chance that there could be anything redeemable in Jamie

Thinking about how Jamie left and DIDN’T talk shit about the team or make weird personal comments outside of the ones about Roy and Ted that he would have made to their faces if he was still there

Thinking about the way Nate left of his own volition and talked shit publicly every chance he got

Thinking about how Nate came back trying with everyone letting him that easily when HE was a dick in person too, left them of his own volition, and slandered them and made them a public joke for fun

Thinking about how Jamie got kicked out, DIDN’T talk shit about his friends, had to beg Ted to come back against the whole team’s wishes, and then got iced out by everyone whether it was people with a right to it like Sam or people like Isaac and Colin that had been friends with him and decided to treat him like the worst man alive to distance themselves and make themselves look better by comparison

Thinking about how Jamie think his friendships are all dependent on his spot on the team and he’s seen them disappear when he got kicked out before

Thinking about how Jamie still calls Isaac his best friend after this because he thinks he deserved all of what he got and that he was the one and only problem in that situation and how really we never see Jamie and Isaac as close again as they were in season one and there are plenty of other teammates I would have expected him to say over him

Thinking about Jamie watching Nate come back and forgiving him and knowing what it’s like to be in his place but also Jamie watching everyone else forgive him and care about him as a person that easily again while he had to fight for even Ted to let him come back and had to fight to have people even accept him being on the team again and to get them to acknowledge his existence long before he earned their friendship

#my art #the x files #dana scully #fox mulder #alex krycek #i was talking about this on twitter yesterday but #i have a LOTTTTTT a lot of thought about this part of season two #mainly because i think that while scully probably realized she was never going to find peace ever again after emily #i do believe that the last time mulder ever thought everything would be okay was right before scully’s abduction #which is also kind of why i think mulder was closer to killing himself in ascension than in gethsemane #at the end of season four mulder is kind of resigned to his and scully’s lives unravelling #he’s more suspicious and slower to trust then he ever was #while ascension was the first time he was like. Oh okay. It’s over for us forever and ever #and the fact that he was still open and still kind of okay before that just kind of makes it worse #that he was just betrayed and left hanging and lost everyone he thought he had in one fell swoop #ascension jades the fuck out of him and you can see it. like through the whole series there are threads of it #his tendency to rely on skinner regresses for a while. he becomes even less functional when scully is gone. #he has far less patience for his informants and he refuses to rely on anyone the way he tried to on krycek #like it’s just. such an obvious shift in his character that you can tell his mindset about his and scully’s life has changed #and that’s a huge part of the show’s tragedy i think. ​there is no peace. there is no rest. it’s never going to be okay

“Hunter’s new design is boring” yeah. That’s. The point.

The generic haircut, the bland sweater. It’s all a baseline for Hunter to set his physical characteristics so that he can figure out who HE is from there.

“But the hair noodle is so distinct to Hunter-” no it isn’t, & it never has been. It’s distinct to CALEB, & that has always been the point. Hunter never wore his hair like that bc HE liked it, he wore it that way bc it reminded Philip of Caleb.

Hunter was never supposed to be Hunter, he was supposed to be a “better version” (BELOS’S OWN WORDS) of Caleb. Hunter’s hair noodle was never a characteristic of his own.

This boy has no part of him that’s his own. He wears Caleb’s face. His body contains Caleb’s bones. His eyes come from being a grimwalker. Entire parts of his personality are built up from trying to please Philip, & the rest of his personality he can’t be sure isn’t left over from Caleb.

Hunter doesn’t know who Hunter is. So he’s trying to figure that out by building from the ground up. There’s only so much he can do about his physical appearance, & fortunately his hair is something under his control. So he gives himself that basic haircut so he can figure it out from there. His hair was never specific to him, so now he can make it that way.

Idk. I don’t see how anyone can be genuinely upset about this w/out severely missing the point.
