Hogwarts legacy headcanons
While normal people go and socialize I wake up and think about ✨them✨
So there's some headcanons about my favourite Legacy Team (as I call them) for ya folks while I'm writing a really big fic about them. Careful, some of them are sad. And don't mind my poor grammar thanks.
Btw, collages are mine, feel free to use them💙
🐍Sebastian Sallow🐍
First off all, if you turn him in, I don't trust you
Literally a typical Slytherin
A nerd. Just a nerd.
Quidditch? Babe, the only sport for him is dueling
Felt absolutely helpless when his parents died. And that's why he's so protective. He just can't let anyone else die on his watch
Really is a small version of his father and proud of it
Believes that the end justifies the means
Hopeless flirt BUT a gentleman. Wouldn't do anything you don't like
And also most probably believes in true love
A proud bisexual
Everyone think that "he fucks everything that moves" but he's a virgin who "saves himself for the one and only"
As some fan said, he was probably born on 18th September. And it's a canon now.
A great friend but a terrible secret keeper, so for Merlin's sake, don't tell him ANYTHING
Knows how to braid hair into the most complex ways
Pro feminist! Treats women right and knows all important stuff thanks to his sis
Tumblr media
🔥Natty Onai🔥
I'm sorry but she's so underrated and for what??
I believe she really respect traditions she were tought as a child
Her favourite holiday must be her birthday. All because it was the only day of the year when her parents forgot about all the dangers and sorrows and they just got together, spending the best time
Most probably will return to the homeland after Hogwarts
Is the only member of the team who play quidditch
(as a keeper ofc)
She's a lesbian idk dudes
A very honest girl who were raised to be a good person
So she just expects the same from others
A very competitive. But not like Imelda. Natty respects fair competition and knows how to honorably recognize a match
Although this does not mean that she will not destroy you to win
Is always cold poor thing
Religious bc I feel like it
Has mommy issues and don't tell me I'm wrong
Will definitely become the best auror one day
Tumblr media
🌼Poppy Sweeting🌼
Her favourite holiday is Christmas lemme tell you that
Trust issues
She's trying her best to be gentle with every living being because she saw too much violence already
And that's why she thinks animals are better than people (agree)
She's definitely an INFP and I won't change my mind
Looks like a cinnamon roll but will kill you
A cliché but I feel like she's an excellent cook
Although she would LOVE to find someone to understand her (like us) she's totally okay with being on her own
Is into mind games like chess
But will go to see a quidditch game just to support Natty (and mc if they play)
Is always up to an adventure
Bullies? Girl grew up among killers, you really think she would care about some bullies?
I feel like she has the strongest personality in here. Doesn't matter what happens she will always stand straight while helping others
Is a cat person
Can't cry bc she was not allowed as a child
Tumblr media
💚Ominis Gaunt💚
Just an innocent little boy let's be honest
He may look like he can kill you but he's just a cinnamon roll
Jokes about his blindness as a defence mechanism
Had a crush on both Sallow siblings at some point and I can't blame him
Saw a theory on tiktok that his patronus would be albino snake. CANON
Just wants to have a simple quiet life without any drama
Protective of his friends BUT is more protective of his boundaries
Don't mind his blindness he knows EXACTLY how to be a fashion icon
Another cliché: Omi can play piano
And it's the only thing his parents tought him that he loves. Playing helps him to calm down
Is very private, but as soon as he starts to trust you, he will immediately blurt out his life story, dreams, fears etc
Though he can't see an actual game, Omi likes to go on a quidditch game, because of the happy energy around him
Is sick most of the time for some reason. Cold, stomach ache or anything really
Also a nerd. But unlike Sebastian he's a fiction lover. Helps him to escape reality, especially in his family's house
Clingy with everyone he loves bc they make him feel safe

Yes, I know, I'm shocked too -- but once again, it seems, I have to talk about Disney's Wish. Truthfully, this entire analysis was one I never set out to write, but I felt like I had to after having a really good conversation with my mum about this deleted scene featuring Asha's grandpa, Sabino; the sentiment expressed by some Disney fans that its inclusion would've helped fix the film; and even the purported perspective that the development team was deeply unhappy about the corporate decision to cut it.
Tumblr media
So first off -- do I think this scene is that magical missing piece that would've fixed Wish? Not exactly. I do think that Sabino putting the idea of wishes being worth fighting for into words for Asha that she even could've reprised later while fighting Magnifico could've been very powerful. Just imagine how much stronger the story would've been if Asha had used Sabino's song to rally the town against Magnifico -- not only creating the payoff of Asha making her dear Saba's wish of inspiring people as well as her own wish to make things in Rosas better come true, but ALSO bringing Magnifico's worst fears of rebellion against his rule to life in an ironic twist! But even if including this scene could've improved the film, I don't think it would've fixed everything wrong with its story and characters. It did, however, inspire that really fun conversation with my mum, and we realized together what this scene at least partially provides that the finished film didn't --
A reason to care about the wishes Magnifico hoards away.
When I was in college, I took a screenwriting class, and one of the most important lessons the professor taught us was to give your main character(s) a strong desire and then give your audience three strong, disparate reasons to root for your character in reaching their goal. This way, if one of the reasons doesn't resonate with a member of your audience, maybe another one will. The more reasons you give your character to want to succeed, the more people in your audience are likely to feel for your character's position and support them in their actions.
Tumblr media
Let's use Disney-Pixar's absolute masterpiece Finding Nemo as an example, just for kicks. Marlin wants to save his son, Nemo, after he gets captured and taken away by human scuba divers. The audience wants Marlin to succeed because his reasons include --
Love. Marlin loves his son very much and is very protective of him, partly because Nemo has a disability that Marlin worries puts him at particular risk being on his own.
Past trauma. As seen in the prologue of the film, Marlin lost the entire rest of his family to a horrific barracuda attack that also resulted in injuring Nemo while he was still an egg, so Nemo is the only family Marlin has left.
Guilt. Marlin feels responsible for what happened to Nemo, because they were in the midst of a fight about Marlin's helicopter parenting when Nemo put himself so close to the human boat and got captured.
The thought process behind this writing trick is that you want your audience to care about what your character is working toward. This is how you get an audience really emotionally invested in their struggles and story, and it also helps define who the character is as a person, understanding not just what they want, but seeing the lengths they'll go to in order to chase that desire. And this is what Wish seems to understand symbolically, but not enough to use this knowledge while shaping its screenplay or characters.
In the finale of the film, all of the people in Rosas whose wishes were taken can still gather enough "stardust" or "magic" or "dreaming whatever" to defeat Magnifico without them. The magic is inside of them, even without the contents of the bubbles Magnifico took from them -- because our wishes, dreams, and ambitions come from who we are, as people. They're a piece of us -- they're informed by who we are -- our happy memories, our past scars, our personalities and hobbies and values. What makes dreams coming true so beautiful is seeing someone become a more complete version of themselves through it!
Tumblr media
And yet...what do we learn about any of these characters that tie into these wishes and why it's so important their wishes be returned and/or granted? What visually communicates that these wishes are so integral to these people's personalities and souls that they're a pale shadow of who they used to be without them? What emotional justification is there for anyone to care if Rosas's citizens achieve these flights of fancy? Are there any real stakes or grave consequences if those wishes aren't granted?
Why do we care if this one lady wishes she could fly, or this other one wants to make dresses? What do we care if this one person wants to sail a ship and travel the world? This one guy wants to climb a mountain or something, but...so what? We don't know any of them from Adam! The film tells us that these wishes are really important to these people, but we don't get any emotional reasons to be invested in whether or not these people's individual wishes come true.
Even characters we do meet like Simon -- what about him made him want to be a knight? Where did that wish come from, in his character? Was it fueled by misguided patriotism? A desire for glory? Being bullied as a child and wanting to prevent others from going through the same thing? We have no idea! Imagine how much more Simon's "betrayal" scene would've hurt if we'd gotten to know Simon as this dreamy, idealistic person who grew up reading fairy tales about knights bravely protecting their kingdom and being heralded for it, only for that wish to be twisted by Magnifico to make Simon serve his king blindly with no free will of his own. Imagine how much more interesting of a character Simon would've been if there had been real context behind that wish he'd made and given up, and how much more interesting his relationships with his friends could've been as a result.
What about Asha's mother? Her wish is treated as incredibly important in the film, since Asha tries to steal it from Magnifico like she did Sabino's and Asha and her family react with such upset when Magnifico crushes it, and yet we never once learn what the wish even was. Even when the wish is reformed and returned to Asha's mother, we STILL never learn what it was and by extension what it meant to her mom and why it was a bad thing that it got crushed. Why should we believe this wish of Asha's mum's is so important if we never even learn what it is? Because the film said it's important? In the immortal words of Will Turner,
Tumblr media
(source)
Just look at Joe Gardner in Pixar's Soul. Would you care so much about him wanting to get back to the world of the living if you didn't learn through the film that he'd been dreaming of playing jazz since he was a child and had finally landed this big gig with a jazz band after years of rejection and his own mother never supporting his dream right before dying? Would Joe have connected with 22 the way he had over the course of the story if it weren't for not only his goal, but the character, passions, and world view that fueled his pursuit of that goal in the first place?
Tumblr media
My mum, while we had this discussion of ours, put forward her own experience. When she was a young woman, she dreamed of having a family of her own: a husband, 2.5 kids, a house with a white picket fence where people could gather together. Over time, though, Mum kind of resigned herself to the reality that it probably wasn't going to happen -- she was pretty solidly focused on her career, she hadn't had much luck in her long-term relationships, and she'd gotten to an age that having her own children was incredibly unlikely. This doesn't mean my mum lost that desire for family -- it's still a part of her, and it informs who she is as a person. She's always taken care of the many cats she's had over the years as if they were her children. She made and has kept life-long friendships with people who've become like siblings to her. She even ended up becoming something like a mother figure for her ex-boyfriend's daughter from a previous marriage, while she and that boyfriend were together. And when I was conceived (pretty miraculously too!), my mum never hesitated for a moment about whether or not she wanted me. Even if my father had chosen not to stand by her and me, she would've pursued that dream of motherhood she'd thought was lost to her all the same.
Tumblr media
THIS is what the deleted Sabino scene has that the finished film doesn't, though still in a bite-size amount. The reason the filmmakers give us for why we should care about Sabino's wish (and, one could argue, the town's wishes) is that when his wish is returned to him, it allows Sabino to connect more deeply with his granddaughter and his daughter-in-law through the music he's so passionate about.
The reason we the audience should care about Sabino's wish is the connection he makes with others.
We still don't know where that wish came from in Sabino's character or back-story, and the theme of connection through one's dreams is something that certainly could've been explored more if it had been kept...but for the first time, through this deleted scene, the filmmakers gave us a reason to care about that little magic bubble besides just telling us that they represent a heart's deepest desire and we should want everyone's wishes to come true because wishes are good. (Which honestly has a lot of problems -- the film never even bothers to explore any scenarios where wishes could truly be dangerous or morally wrong to grant, such as a wish to rule this particular kingdom or that this one person will marry you, regardless of their opinion on the matter.)
The song Sabino sings in this scene says that if a wish is powerful enough to fill your heart and make it "close to breaking," then it's one "worth making." But to tell a story worth telling and create characters worth rooting for, you need to show -- not just verbally explain -- why your audience should care.

may i have hc, story or whatever you want of bucciarati adopting an emotionless child? regardless of the lack of emotion they are still a precious little bean to him and how would the gang react as a big brother (maybe second dad for abbacchio lol). thank you 😊
awwwww this is so wholesome <3 i love mama bruno
also i'm ngl i struggled with this prompt a little bit! i hope it's not too bad!!
Tumblr media
Bucciarati Adopting a Child who Doesn't Show Emotion!
bruno has always wanted to adopt a child. since his childhood wasn't the greatest, he's always had a soft spot for children in need
he's very maternal in nature, feeling the urge to take care of others and nurture them. that's why he makes such a great father/father figure
when he finally is able to adopt a child of his own, he is overjoyed. to him, that child is the most beautiful and perfect thing in the world
if the child seemed nervous at all about their new home, bruno would be sure to reassure them that everything was going to be okay, and that he would take care of them
when the rest of the gang finds out, they're extremely excited
when bucciarati first brings the child to meet the rest of the gang, he is surprised to see that the child doesn't show much emotion. they just kind of sit there with wide eyes, glancing around the room at everyone
at first, the gang found the child's complete lack of emotion a little strange. but over time, they came to accept and love them for it
abbacchio definitely was wary at first. he tries to act like he hates kids and finds them annoying, but in reality, he actually loves kids and has always wanted them.
it took a while for abbacchio to warm up to the idea of having a kid to look after.
it didn't take long for him to warm up though. soon enough, he was carrying them around on his back, making sure they were fed, and tucking them in to bed at night.
bruno and abbacchio are both father/parental figures for the child. they love them more than anything, and they know that the love is reciprocated, even if the child doesn't show it.
mista and narancia would always try to make them laugh, or try to get them to join in on their stupid pranks
mista and narancia always make sure that the kid felt included and was having fun, even if they don't show it physically
fugo would make sure to help the child learn new things, and help them with their school work. as bad as his temper can be, he is surprisingly patient with the child. like bucciarati, he feels a soft spot for the kid. he wants to be a good role model and a teacher to them, so they don't end up living a life like he did in the past
fugo doesn't mind their lack of emotion at all, if anything, he enjoys it. it's a bit of peace and quiet for him compared to the other members of his team
giorno is somewhat similar to the child, in the way that he doesn't really express his emotions
he can pick up on signals easily though, and can tell when the child is content or not
he always tries to smile and be a positive influence for them, telling them that anything they dream of is possible and to never give up on what's important
every single one of the members of bucciarati's gang would do absolutely anything to protect them. they've all come to love the kiddo in their own ways, and would never let anything happen to them. they're like a big happy family :)

Team 7 presentation was so funny, those three were totally mentally ill.
Kakashi was like: my opinion on things doesn't matter, I don't have dreams for the future and the things I like to do make me look soft, so I won't mention them. In other words, he effectively sold himself as a mere weapon or a representative of the power of the State. A weapon, not a human.
Tumblr media
In comparison, Naruto is the one who talks about himself the most. He exists outside of the shinobi sphere of influence but only by a little, even when he can only mention one dear person (Iruka) and was deadly focus on one activity (eating ramen).
Yet, he dreams big and shows excitement and he has a clear goal. It's not being Hokage, that's just a thing that happens to be part of his dream. No, he the best so that people would have to accept him. In that sense, he knows what he wants to do with the hat, other than wear it. 10/10 points.
Tumblr media
Sasuke is another story. Just like Kakashi, he does not talk about his opinions. He knows he's full of hatred and prefers not to talk about it if he can't say something positive later. He also don't believe in dreams of the future (a vision closer to what a current shinobi would feel, in such a cruel world).
Even when he doesn't expose anything about his personality per se, he talks about his plan and his determination to restore his clan and kill (Itachi).
It shows his trauma and how he oriented his life to his clan duties after the massacre. Again, a bit sad but expected, just like Kakashi said.
Tumblr media
And I know the Sakura part was supposed to be the comedy relief moment of the presentations, by the way Naruto and Kakashi reacted. Yet, it is surprisingly sad that the only member of team 7 who had a normal life couldn't mention one single thing about herself.
It makes her the closer to Kakashi, because the narrative tells you that you can listen to Sasuke if you want to know about his suffering, that Naruto doesn't shy from speaking his mind, but Kakashi and Sakura? You have to observe them.
Kakashi hides behind his shinobi persona the way Sakura hides behind her romantic girl mask. Sure, Kakashi is a Shinobi and Sakura is romantic, but that's not all they are.
Tumblr media
The most important take away is that they are all people who should care more about their lives as something not related to their jobs or traumas. They don't talk about friends, or family. They do not talk about activities they can truly bond over, except Naruto with Ramen —maybe that's why Ichiraku becomes a safehouse to them.
Naruto being the exception again, well, most of them doubt about if they should show their true selves to the others. At least Sasuke tries to tell Sakura a bit more later, but Sakura has a whole inner persona to show how guarded she is and Kakashi only let's bits of information slide through the cracks when they are danger.
What a mess.

Friend For All
Tumblr media
This is something I've been thinking about for a while now. In my opinion, Dagur is the only character who could actually have an amazing time hanging out with every member of the Dragon Riders. I don't even think the Riders themselves can say that. Please, hear me out. I know they're friends, but they're a friend group. This is an important distinction because how often do you really see Fishlegs and the twins just having a ball together? (That "wedding" doesn't count because the poor Ingerman was not enjoying himself.) What about Snotlout and Astrid just genuinely having fun without anyone else there? You really don't get that. So, I'll try to explain why I think Dagur could do this. (Spoilers probably. I'll just use the warning to be safe.)
Dagur and the twins could have chaotic fun. It's probably unsafe for anyone around them, but no one else is matching their pure insanity. All three of them have this combination of sometimes just doing things to mess with people or just doing something that then causes problems by accident. Still, I think they'd have fun. They can try to out prank each other (think Loki Day). They also still know how to be serious when the time absolutely calls for it, so they could have less silly times too. Ultimately, I think their best times together would be when they're just causing heck for the world and laughing together about what they've done.
Dagur and Astrid could enjoy the more warrior/protector side of life. I think there would be a healthy competition. Astrid was in charge of keeping the Edge secure with defenses and Dagur snuck on several times. He might even end up being the tester for her new security systems. I could see her trying to make things to keep him out and him being fine seeing how close to death he comes while still trying to break in. Also, since Astrid's got that drill sergeant thing going on that we saw in "Team Astrid," I could see her being curious what types of training he has his soldiers do. They might even trade ideas back and forth to have the strongest fighters.
Dagur and Fishlegs is a friendship I have wanted to see more of ever since "Family on the Edge." They were so adorable geeking out together about Gronckles. They're such an odd buddy duo because they seem like complete opposites, but I think it could work. Fishlegs wanted a spa area and are we really going to say Dagur wouldn't love that? Mr. Meditation and Fruit Baths? Yeah, he'd happily tag along for a spa day. Then, they can geek out more about Gronckles or other things like this. A personal headcanon I have which adds to this is I believe Dagur is pretty well-read. There are little things like him knowing about the third eye, French, how to make the antidote for Nadder venom when he got shot (since they didn't have dragons on Berserker Island), etc. So, I feel like he and Fishlegs might have more things to nerd over than most assume. Dagur even was impressed by Fishlegs's thirst for knowledge. Maybe they could discuss the different topics they've read and studied. Study buddies! (Sorta)
Dagur and Snotlout are a duo I think would be amazing. Like with Fishlegs, there were episodes where I just knew I wanted more of them together. Seeing them fight off traitorous Berserkers, then start providing commentary to Hicctrid in "Mi Amore Armorwing" were some great moments to me. The reason I think they could work is that I feel like they'd be good influences on each other. (Actually, I already have a story out on AO3 that dives into this called "Means We're Friends.") Dagur is himself and always will be. Even in RTTE, there's a part of Snotlout who still wants to be who others...namely Spitelout...think he should be. Dagur could help him learn to just be whoever he really is and not care what anyone else says. Also, Snotlout is more sensitive than he'd ever admit, so I think he'd be able to help Dagur in those moments when the Berserker is just clearly not picking up on how to respond properly in situations to avoid weirding everyone out. They could also do a bunch of sparring together too and get into random things for fun like how Snotlout started narrating Tuffnut's search for Chicken. I definitely think Dagur would've joined in on that.
Dagur and Hiccup...well, of course. They're brothers and friends, so that's a given. These two are going on the wildest adventures because Hiccup will never really stay put and Dagur would get bored if he did. There's that fun protective side too. Anyone around them knows that if they mess with Hiccup, they're dying in the most horrific ways possible. Plus, we'd have to throw in some big brother advice moments from Dagur to help Hiccup out with becoming a chief in the future. We've seen the redhead offer advice to Hiccup before with not letting revenge consume him. We've also seen Hiccup offer some comfort with things like their search for Oswald. So, you'd get the more adventurous/fun side of the friendship along with the more serious moments.
On Monday, I'm going to publish a series of oneshots set both in and out of their universe to show how these relationships could work. Considering Monday is April Fool's, I just knew which group I had to start with...(It's out now and called "Just One of the Riders.")

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was great, y'all: A Review
Spoiler Free: This movie was utterly sincere, and that was refreshing as anything. No meta-humor, no self-referential nonsense that would make it feel like it was embarrassed to be what it was. The characters were great and stand-out. The party as a whole struck the perfect balance that made it feel as chaotic as an actual DnD campaign would be. The humor hits pretty much all of the time, with several laugh-out-loud moments and many more little chuckles and smiles.
The story is simple, but feels true to a campaign as well. You have the main quest and the side quests. The rules around magic are fairly well defined. Their are a couple of elements regarding character arcs and story that could have been tweaked or added in that might have made it feel more complete or satisfying, but nothing huge. I found it to be emotionally satisfying, at the very least.
You can tell that there was a lot of love put into this movie. The cast are all having the time of their lives, and it's important (to me) to note that the VFX team never skimp on any character/species detail. The halflings are appropriately proportioned to the world and people around them. The tiefling (though a little tame looking for a tiefling) maintains having a tail in every scene, without them making a big deal about the fact that she has one.
This is a great movie for DnD fans. If you are not familiar with Dungeons and Dragons or TTRPGs in general, however, I still don't feel you will be missing much. It's an adventure fantasy, and a very accessible one at that, with found family and the power of self-respect and love driving its core.
8.5/10 for me.
Spoilers under the cut- and it's LONG, so be ready for that.
SPOILER TIME BABYYYYYY. This will be a breakdown of the movie's plot with my own insights- sometimes I will use DnD terminology as in my head I was imagining each roll of the dice. Scroll down to the end if you just want to see what I would have changed about the movie.
The way we are introduced to our two primary main characters, Edgin and Holga, is very fun. We meet them in a prison as they acquire a burly new cellmate, who they each deal with in ways that make it very clear who and what they are- Edgin being a smooth-talking, rakish Bard with a devil-may-care attitude, and Holga is a blunt yet loyal Barbarian with a love of potatoes who was exiled from her clan for falling in love with an outsider. We quickly segue into their escape from prison at their pardon-hearing, where we get to learn their back story: Edgin was once an honorable man and a Harper (an order who fights against evil while asking for nothing in return) who lost his wife to a Red Wizard attack and decided to cast aside his oath and honor both to become a thief.
He has a daughter who survived that attack, and Holga has helped him to raise her. Refreshingly, there is absolutely zero sexual or romantic tension between Edgin and Holga, who he refers to explicitly as being like a sister to him. They wound up in jail when on a quest to rob a vault which contained a Tablet of Reawakening, which Edgin planned to use to return his wife to life. They were betrayed by the witch Sofina (played with maximum menace by Daisy Head), who captured them in a time stop. Edgin entrusted the tablet and care of his daughter to his friend and party-member, Forge the rogue and con.
They escape on the wings of an unfortunate judge named Jonathan, who is an Aarakorca, despite the fact that Edgin totally passed the charisma check and the panel of judges were actually swayed to approve the pardon. This is when I knew I would love this movie.
Holga and Edgin set out to reunite with Kira (Chloe Coleman, who does great but is noticeably much lighter skinned than the actresses who played her as a baby and toddler), Edgin's daughter. Their daughter, really. They find her with Forge (played with delightful charm and sliminess by Hugh Grant), who has risen to become Lord of Neverwinter. She is angry with Edgin for abandoning her, because it turns out the Forge has been feeding her quite a different story for what the primary objective of that fateful quest was: she thinks they went after a Tablet of Riches. Edwig tries to explain himself, but Kira (who is happy enough to see Holga, at least) won't listen, saying that the bigger problem is that Edwig keeps speaking like it wasn't his fault. Forge, still in league with Sofina, has betrayed them, and secretly sends them to be executed, at which point Holga does that which Barbarians do so well and they escape, now with a new mission: to take down Forge and Sofina and rescue Kira from their clutches.
They set out to build their party, first picking up their friend Simon the Sorcerer (played adorably by Justice Smith), a half-elf whose self-doubt and bumbling ways often inhibit his ability to do more than cantrips reliably. He was also betrayed by Forge, but managed to escape and has been in hiding. He helps lead them to their next party member, a Tiefling Druid named Doric (awesome job, Sophia Lillis), who is also a wildshape. She distrusts humans, who have always let her down, but is loyal to the wood elves who took her in and whose lands have been under attack by Forge. Simon explains that he had once attempted to court her, but she said that his lack of self-esteem just made her sad. Thankfully, this romantic subplot, should it count as that, takes up very little space in the narrative, which is part of why it works so well.
Using Doric's wildshape abilities, they are able to learn that Forge has revived a kind of gladiatorial game intended to bring the city (and the city's riches) together, and that the vault which presumably holds the Tablet of Reawakening is protected by magic that is far too powerful for Simon to counter without the Helm of Disjunction. We also get more glimpses of Sofina's power here- she is able to sense Doric and nearly captures and kills her on a fast-paced chase through the city where Doric changes from fly to mouse to cat to bird to deer in order to escape. Finally, the viewers get to see (though the party doesn't) that Sofina isn't just a witch- she is a Red Wizard and Thayan too, and she plans to turn Neverwinter's people into members of the Red Wizard's undead army.
Simon doesn't think think that taking down Sofina is possible, as he wasn't able to match her magic before and doesn't feel that he's improved. He insists that magic cannot be used to solve every problem, his own magic least of all. Attuning to the Helm alone might take them years, even if they do manage to find it. Edwig insists that Simon is underestimating himself, and advises him not to tell the party of his doubts to keep up morale.
After an amusing diversion to Holga's ex-husband, Marlamin the Halfling (played by Bradley Cooper) and then to a sacred burial ground of her people to discover the fate of the Helm (DnD magic rules are used to great effect here), the party learns that they must seek out a Thayan named Xenk Yendar (played by a hilariously sincere and smoking hot Rege-Jean Page), a renowned Paladin that everyone except a disgruntled Edgin has heard of. Xenk runs a vibe check on Edgin, and apparently detects a Good alignment. He agrees to help them get the Helm, on the condition that Edgin swears to redistribute the wealth in Forge's vault to the people of Neverwinter and that he holds on to the Harper book- a book which Edgin had thrown onto his wife's funeral pyre after he forsook his vows as one. "You may have forsaken your oath, but your oath has not forsaken you." Xenk says to a stubborn Edgin.
We also learn that Xenk escaped the Red Wizard's take over of the Thayan's by the skin of his teeth as a child and lost his parents to it. This flashback helps the viewer (and the party, though they don't quite figure it out until later) what Sofina is planning for Neverwinter- releasing the red blight of death (honestly I cannot remember the real name, but it's an evil red cloud that turns people into red wizard zombies). We see here that the Blight has an area of effect, and that managing to get just outside of it is what saved Xenk from his parents' fate.
While retrieving the Helm, the party runs in with Sofina's cronies. Xenk takes them out in a fantastic display of badassery, but it cannot last long- it takes more power than what Xenk has to kill that which is already dead, and they begin to rise. However, they quickly cease being the primary threat, as their chaos has awoken a dragon. Hilariously, this is not the dragon seen in so much of the promotional material, but rather a very pudgy one, who still manages to wreak quite a bit of destruction with its large body and fire breath. Here we get to see some uses of the Hither-Thither staff, which Holga had believed was a walking stick she'd taken for her ex-husband. It allows Simon to open portals, as long as the destination is within 500 meters and a place that he can see. Edgin's brains are put to good use as well, as the party escapes the dragon with the helm.
At this point, Xenk leaves the party despite many requests for him to stay because he is much more capable than they are, telling them that it is not his quest, but theirs. There is a very funny moment as they watch him walk away, where Edgin notes that he walks in an unnaturally straight line and wonders if he will alter it to go around a rock in his path. He doesn't- he walks straight over the rock. That's paladin symbolism for you. Simon attempts to attune to the Helm while the party takes a break on the beach, but finds he is consistently repelled by a vision of his ancestor, who was a great Wizard and tells Simon that he is not worthy of wielding the helm's power. Edgin urges him to keep trying, but after several attempts where the Helm literally blasts itself off of him, Simon turns on Edgin and rants that he told him from the outset that he couldn't do it and that it wouldn't work, but Edgin refused to listen, and that Edgin is doing what he always does- making plans that don't work and then blaming other people for it. While Holga takes this in stride, Doric and Simon are both very angry. I was afraid for a moment that this would be one of those times where they split the party for Drama, a trope that I *hate*... but I needn't have worried.
Edgin then makes a compelling speech about how they are all failing in some way, and that they have to keep failing, because the moment that they fail and give up is when they really fail. He gives several examples about the rest of the party, and when Simon presses him about his own failures, he calls himself the King of Failures. He's failed as a father, as a husband, as a leader. He reveals that the Red Wizards that killed his wife were only able to find her because of a treasure he took while he was a Harper, not knowing that the treasures had tracking spells on them. It was his fault that his wife was killed in the first place. But Edgin can't give up, he says, because if he does then it will have all been for nothing. He then sits down to think of a new plan. Charisma check passes, because the party rallies behind him.
The party plans to use the Hither-Thither staff to get into the vault, figuring that if they leave a portal open on a piece of treasure, it will go into the vault and they will be able to get in that way. Edgin also suggests that they take the Helm as well and that Simon try again, saying that he actually does believe Simon can do it, because when it's do or die he always comes through. "You're at your strongest when you think you're at your weakest" he tells Simon.
They get into the citadel with a great scene wherein Edgin seems to distract the guards with a song on his lute- an excellent use of your bard and a chance for Chris Pine to show off his vocal charming chops. It turns out to be an illusion cast by Simon, however, who looses hold of it as he gets his foot stuck in a pothole. The way the illusion starts to skip like a broken record and then distort in disturbingly cartoonish ways is done very well by the actors and the VFX team, and certainly got a laugh in the theater.
After running through Plan C (which is the same as Plan A, but plan A has a stink on it) and Plan D (the same as plan B, but plan B has a stink on it), the party almost succeeds, but Sofina and Forge outwit them. Anyone who has ever played DnD or any TTRPG for that matter will be very familiar with how these plans come together, fall apart, and then come together again. The portal doesn't let Doric into the vault, but under the arena, where the treasures are being loaded onto a boat. She is knocked out and captured.
Simon manages to get to the vault and, faced with death should he fail, he puts on the helm and stands up to the vision of his ancestor, saying that he IS worthy of the power and he's sick of being told he is not. The vision turns into one of Simon himself and congratulates him- he has attuned successfully. He uses the Helm to cancel out the magic on the vault and to repel the guards attacking him, only to find that the vault is empty. He and Holga are captured.
Edgin finds Kira and explains to her that Forge has been lying, that he wants her to come away with him. He makes a pretty perfect apology, acknowledging that the Tablet of Reawakening was about getting back his wife rather than Kira's mom, as Kira had never known her. Unfortunately, this apology is wasted, as he is actually talking to a disguised Sofina, who captures him. Forge assures him that Kira is safe and will continue to be, as Forge really does care for her as if she were his own, but that Edgin has to die. Edgin asks that rather than being executed, the party be allowed to participate in the games that will be beginning shortly, to give them a chance. Forge is reluctant, saying that it would be kinder to just kill them now, but Sofina insists on granting that request, presumably so that she can take them into her undead army when she unleashes the blight.
The party enters the maze in the arena where the games are taking place, with Simon and Doric inhibited by magic-suppressing cuffs. They face monsters and other traps, but with each of them playing to their strengths and with Doric managing to lose her cuff, they make it to the center. Edgin finally makes a successful Detect Trap and recognizes that they won't be safe there, and Doric is able to get them out with some clever shape shifting and modest risk taking.
Combining their information, the party realizes both what Sofina is planning and what Forge is planning. Forge doesn't intend to stay in Neverwinter- he plans to let Sofina do her evil thing while he makes off with Kira and the treasure, which is why it was stored at the docks under the arena rather than in the vault. Interestingly enough, Sofina is completely aware of this, but has no interest in stopping him. In fact, she is so annoyed by him that she just wants him to get on his boat and leave. This is a rare example of two villains who have completely different motivations and goals, but whose plans align just enough to have them work together. There is no betrayal between them-- they each act exactly as the other expects them to, and they aren't bothered by it. The only problem is that it leads to there being two climaxes, and one is more rushed than the other.
The party is able to stop Forge at his boat, where he immediately threatens Kira's life if the party doesn't give him his treasure. This speeds Kira along to realizing that he has been the bad guy and to forgiving her father. They overpower Forge and seem to be making a getaway when they notice the signs of Sofina beginning the Blight. Edgin remembers his promise to Xenk, and has Simon use the Hither-Thither spell to send all the treasure on the boat to come spilling out of a hot air balloon, thus redistributing it to the people and sending the citizens of Neverwinter out of the arena to catch the falling treasure, and therefore outside of the Blight's area of effect. Forge regains access to the boat just in time to see all of his loot falling away from it, leaving him in despair.
That's the first climax, and at this point everyone's character arcs are mostly resolved. Simon is more confident, Kira is happy to be with Holga and Edgin again, and Edgin kept his promise. They have thwarted Sofina's plans. But, Sofina's still alive and kicking and we haven't had that boss battle yet, so time for Climax #2!
As Sofina rages, Edgin tells Kira to use a pendant that Holga had stolen for her when she was younger to stay invisible, hidden, and safe during the fight. Sofina rains fire down on the party, but Simon has Taken a Level in Badass and is able to match her for a short time. Doric transforms into an Owlbear to act as the Hulk of the group, and Holga proves herself proficient with several weapons. Edgin, who isn't much of a fighter, does get a few hits in with his lute (love that for him, though). It's a fast-paced fight, with every member of the party contributing, and which thankfully DOESN'T adhere to DnD rules (combat system not good for narrative storytelling). However, Sofina goes down pretty easily. For just a moment, it looks like all is lost as Sofina uses her time-stop, which Simon says he is still unable to counter... except it's all fine. Kira (little rogue in training that she is), manages to slap a magic-suppressing cuff onto Sofina while she's invisible, because as it turns out Simon WAS able to counter the time-stop. Owlbear!Doric then Hulksmashes Sofina to death (I murmured "puny god" to myself in the theater) and the day is saved... except that Holga has been mortally wounded.
If you're like my brother and I, you probably called back when they first confirmed that the Tablet of Reawakening still existed that one of the party was going to die and that they would use the Tablet (one use only) on that party member rather than on Edgin's wife. You might have even called it being Holga, which I did around the time that she mentions having dreamed of being buried in a sacred burial ground with her tribesmen, despite having been exiled. It's very predictable- but that's not always a bad thing.
Edgin and Holga sing a drinking song as she dies, with Kira sobbing and holding her, saying that she needs her. Holga tells them not to mourn, because she's happy to die a hero- that's her character arc, minimal though it has been. Edgin pulls out the tablet and reminds his daughter that they can only use it once- and of course she nods, because to her Holga is the mother she's known. The tablet returns her to life, and everyone is happy and it's very heartwarming.
From there, it's a quick wrap-up. The former Lord of Neverwinter, who was kept in a coma by Sofina, wakes up and grants legal protection to Doric's people and their lands. The party all receive medals. Doric acknowledges that humans are not all bad, and also agrees to let Simon have another shot at courting her now that he's got more confidence. Forge, holding on to the one piece of treasure he hadn't lost, is captured by Xenk, and we end on him trying to convince the same judges at the same prison Edgin and Holga were at in the beginning that all turned out for the best, and he's done a lot of reflection and so should really be pardoned.
He does NOT pass the charisma check. And that's it, really, aside from a funny mid-credits tag.
So, I think I went over most of the things that I loved already. Here is WHAT I WOULD CHANGE:
I think Forge turning on Kira happened very quickly and didn't fully make sense, outside of being a vehicle for getting her to trust her dad again very quickly. I would have preferred for Kira to be more of a character with more agency. To this end, I would have had her use her invisibility pendant (which she has the whole time and says that she often uses to sneak around the castle) earlier. She could have realized that Sofina was a Red Wizard, or overheard some pieces of the puzzle that may not have clarified everything for her, but at least sewn the seeds of doubt. That, or had her flat out not believe that Holga and Edgin would leave her a second time, even if she is still angry at Edgin.
I might also try and consolidate the climaxes a bit more- while I think Forge was a fun villain, thwarting him and Sofina so separately makes the fight with Sofina seem a little extraneous, though the movie's fast pacing helps with this.
Doric is mostly a static character- she's a lot of fun and I enjoy her, but she doesn't really have much of an arc. She has a goal when she joins the party, and at the end of the movie that goal is achieved.
Holga's arc gets less attention than it should- she doesn't really change throughout the movie either. I would have liked to see either someone for her tribe or her ex-husband there at the end when everyone was getting their awards, so that she could have made good on showing them what she was worth. (That said, I thought it was great that there weren't any bad feelings between her and Marlamin, who has moved on from her but genuinely wishes her happiness).
Finally, my brother noted (though I myself didn't really have this problem) that Simon's Badass Level Up at the 11th hour felt disengenous, because it's one thing to say that he has trouble with big magic because of his poor self-esteem, and quite another for him to suddenly be able to match Sofina's might. His spells are not as impressive as hers, but he does hold his own, with the party also serving as distractions to her.
And... that's the review. Hope you liked it.

To celebrate the NaruHinaWedding event, I wrote a drabble about a conversation between Boruto, Himawari and Hinata. They are asking about Hinata's love life. The anime displayed a scene of Hinata reminiscing about her love life. From a crush to someone qualified enough to support Naruto. In this drabble, I want to elaborate more into details about her feelings and the lessons she learned in pursuit of happiness.
"I'm home!" Boruto shouted as he ran his way to the living room.
"Mum, I'm hungry! What's for dinner?" He asks.
"Sit down. Wash your hands first or you won't have dinner. I've roasted chicken mixed with black pepper and corn soup."
"Yay! Where is Hima?" Boruto enquires, as he washes his hand at the sink.
"I'm here! I've just finished my mission with Yuina and Ehou!" Himawari helps her mother to put the dishes into some bowls as soon as she arrives.
"Eh... new mission, huh? What did you do Hima? I bet it's a mission about finding missing cat, cleaning the chickens' coops or guiding a VIP's safety..." Boruto displays his bored face while belittling his sister's mission. He used to complain the missions he got and this laid back personality of his also led to him in trouble.
"Nope. None of those. It's a mission to find rare herbs; Matucoldi. It is actually a mission requested by aunt Sakura and she chose our team because of our ability. Well, to be honest I didn't know why she chose me as a temporary team leader at first. I know Yuina is a knowledgeable student. She studied a lot about herbs and animals. Her resourcefulness helped us a lot. Ehou, on the other hand acted without thinking sometimes but he is great in combat. As for me... I cannot really control my Byakugan yet and my taijutsu isn't as great as Ehou. During the mission, I realised that one of my redeeming qualities is my quick thinking which coincides with the situation and the spirit to never give up. We managed to retrieve the herbs successfully in the end. Of course, we needed to involve ourselves in a fight but with teamwork, we did it!"
"Wow.. Hima, looks like you're going to be a cool shinobi just like me!" Boruto laughs, after listening to Himawari's detailed explanation regarding her mission.
"Hey! I don't want to be like you, onii-chan. You always made other people worry and you never communicate your inner feelings. I'm going to be someone honest in the future and that includes taking care of you!"
"Hey! I'm the big one here. I was born first. I am supposed to be the one who protects you!" Boruto rebutts Himawari's statements.
"Hush.. hush! Okay, stop it. Stop the fight or you both won't be having dinner." Hinata puts down a big bowl of corn soup on the table and look at her children with a scary expression.
"Ok.. okay.." Botg Himawari and Boruto reply in unison.
Hinata laughs and sit next to Himawari.
"You know what, mum.. sometimes I wonder how dad is able to marry you. I mean.. you could've find better men out there. You cooked all these delicious dishes only for him to rush back to the Hokage's office again," Boruto conplained.
"But, he did... came home right? He tried his best to be a great father for both of you. He always tried his best, despite working for the village. Without him, we won't be living peacefully now. He even tried to be an inspiring figure for Kawaki. Speaking of him.. where is he?"
"Well, he said he had something to deal with. I don't know. For me, dinner is more important. I'll find out sooner or later anyway," Boruto responds.
"Mama! We want to listen your story before you meet papa! You refused to tell us before!" Himawari looks at her mother with an eager expression.
"Er, well.. I've told you before about how clumsy and rash he was before, right? Your father is still the same old him even after having 2 children. I always liked him in secrecy. Once, I tried to release the chakra draining rods from him even after beaten up by Pain. Pain is one of the akatsuki members, by the way. You learned that in your school right?"
"Akat.. akatsuki? The same Pain who destroyed Konoha? I've learned it before during class.. and we had that particular moment described in our text book. There's a girl mentioned in the text book. The one who tried to save the Hokage.. but I didn't know it was you, mum! Wow! Why didn't you let your name known in the text book? I could've boasted about it!" Boruto proudly shows his enthusiasm about the new fact he acknowledged.
Hinata chuckles. "No. I prefer a quiet life. I don't really care about fame and being a legend. To me, being happy is enough. Taking care of my kids is enough. Supporting my husband is enough. I don't need more in life. Your father nearly gave up his ninja way when we were in the middle of war. However, I managed to gain his strength. Even when my beloved cousin who's like a brother to me, Neji passed away at that time, I tried to calm myself down. As a shinobi, you can never express your emotions willingly. Yes, it's hard but that's the reason why it is important to be strong not just by physical but also by heart. After the war, we visited each other's house. He would ask for my help because he needed to study more if he wants to become a Hokage. Sometimes, I brought food. Did you know that he was once an avid hater of vegetables? Well, it takes an impressive cooking skill to mesh the vegetables well with meats so that the taste will become delectable."
Boruto and Himawari look at their mother's loving facade. She has a soft expression whenever she reminisces about her past life. She looks like a maiden in love, not someone who was married and gave birth to 2 kids.
Hinata continues to describe her love life. " I learned so much from your father. He taught me to grow in my own pace and be brave, despite what the circumstances are. We became closer without even noticing it. Sometimes, we trained together. There were rumours circulating that we were in a relationship but we ignored it. Your father was too dense about love and at that time, I'm sure he thought of me as a friend. Not more. I was still a bit timid even after war because the idea of being in a relationship with your crush is too good to be true. So in the end, we just led a life without even acknowledging our feelings.
Then, years passed by and we're finally 18. A lot of things changed. Your aunt, Hanabi was kidnapped by a descendant of Hamura Otsusuki. He needed the byakugan to acquire the Tenseigan created from his ancestors' sealed eyes. He proposed me so I had to accept it in order to save Hanabi. Your father was utterly heart-broken upon knowing it and I did try to explain just for a while but my I believed he could manage himself. He's a strong shinobi who used to lead the war. My goal at that time was to save your aunt. She's still a child. Long story short, we managed to defeat Toneri. Your father was super romantic when he finally understood his feelings for me. With one hand, he released a big rasengan and flew under the moon's silhouette. Well, after that.. I couldn't tell you."
"What? You kissed don't you? Papa kissed mama!" Himawari teased her mother.
"Woah really? I didn't know dad can be so romantic! He's a fool for not being able to know his true feelings." Boruto laughs.
"It's not his fault. He was alone for so many years. He worked hard to gain acknowledgement from other villagers. He didn't have anyone to talk to him about this matter. As for me, I'm happy if he's happy. I did get jealous once, when he was popular with the girls due to his popularity. I thought the scarf given to him was from one of the girls so I hid the scarf I've knitted for him. It turns out that it was actually from his mother. In a way, I was in the wrong too. We both are. Being in a relationship means that both of us stand in an equal footing. We vowed to cherish each other through thick and thin. To support each other and to communicate our inner feelings. No more skirting lies while leaving the truths half-told."
"Aww.. I want to have a beautiful love story like mama too, when I grow up later.. but so far I don't like anyone in class..." Himawari gushes her mother's love tale while gazing at her mother's embarrassed face.
"Heh.. I don't know if I will ever get married.. I want to enjoy my single life to eternity.. but having someone who can understand you for who you are is rare..." Boruto's eyes narrow with such focus, as if thinking about someone who could match his description.
"I'm home!" Naruto's voice can be heard at the door.
Boruto and Himawari run and hug him instantly.
"Okay.. what happen?" Naruto is confused.
"Dad.. you're a cool guy huh?" Boruto teased him.
"Daddy! You are so sweet!" Himawari joins her brother.
"What? What's going on? Hinata, what's going on? Did something peculiar happen?" Naruto tries to ask for explanation but Hinata refuses to look him in the eye.
"No... Nothing happened! Any.. anyway, why did you get home so soon?" Hinata helps her husband to untie the Hokage robe.
Naruto is puzzled. "I thought you like it when I'm home?"
Hinata is speechless. Usually, she won't be flustered as she was used to her role as a wife but somehow, the prior engagement with her children makes her embarrassed. She regrets expressing her love towards her husband in front of her children. Pretty sure they're going to tease her further.
"Well, anyway... do you know that there's a new record for ramen eating competition? I did it! I managed to defeat your past record!"
Shocked, Hinata scrutinizes her eyes. "What? How? You never managed to defeat me before! Did you cheat?"
"Hey, I didn't cheat okay? Well, it won't make me a real man if you always win. Did you still remember your promise if I win?"
"Hima.. is this really our "cool" father? Why is he being childish all the time." Boruto asks, with an incredulous look on his face.
"I'm pretty sure it's just papa being papa. He never shows this side of him in front of other villagers. He usually brings out his inner child when he's with mama."
"I.. of course I remember. I promised to accompany you on a date to an expensive restaurant. That was ages ago! You're a rich man now." Hinata laughs, as she remembers her promise to Naruto.
"It'll just be the 2 of us. No kids allowed."
"Okay. Okay. Gosh, you're so funny, Naruto-kun."
"I'm curious though. What were you talking about just now?" Naruto asks.
Hinata tries to suppress her embarrassment by controlling her face expression. "Huh.. nothing okay? I was just talking about how cool you were when you brought me to the moon. There, happy now?"
It was Naruto's turn to be embarrassed. "What kind of conversation was that? You shouldn't tell the about that. It's not fair!"
"Well, I did say that I was so in love with you. It's fair." Hinata fights back.
"I'm home..."
All of them look at the owner's voice. Turns out, it's Kawaki. Kawaki is confused at the weird atmosphere as he walks into the dining room.
"Dinner is served and you guys aren't eating? The food is going to get cold. What happen? Why do you have that ugly and strange grin on your face Boruto?"
"Ugly you say? You're the ugly one! Wanna fight?" Boruto stands up.
"Hush! Okay, okay. Let's eat now. Kawaki, wash your hands first. Honey, as a punishment you must massage my shoulders tonight."
Naruto almost faint when he heard that Hinata called him "honey". She only said that when both of them are not in front of their kids. Looks like he can never win the war with his own wife.

~ The Hunter And The Hunted ~
When their shuttle crashed on the small planet, Robert "Robbie" Scott already feared that it was the end. Although all the passengers had survived the crash and come through it relatively well, unfortunately all contact with other ships or planets had been lost. They simply couldn't reach anyone!
Robbie suspected that it had something to do with the planet's atmosphere. Perhaps that was also the reason for the crash. The pilot had simply come too close to the orbit.
"Do you think there's anything you can do about the technology, darling?"
Robbie shook his head regretfully at his girlfriend's question. He had taken a close look at the shuttle systems. There didn't seem to be a solution.
"No... I'm sorry, Leah."
"Great! So we're going to die miserably on this godforsaken planet!" cursed one of the male passengers. His name was Malcolm Wardres, if Robbie remembered correctly. He was an important businessman and was traveling alone.
"My people will see where we crashed and they'll certainly look for us," replied the pilot Grayson sullenly and her co-pilot Samuels nodded in agreement.
"T-that's right."
"Only to crash themselves, huh? Just great!"
"In any case, we need to have a look around and get our bearings."
Mr. Reynolds, a police officer who had been out with his elderly mother, also seemed more solution-oriented. He looked at Mrs. Reynolds, who was being looked after by two crew members.
There were no other passengers. It had only been a small flight, on course to a nearby starbase.
Robbie had given Leah the trip as a birthday present. She had been looking forward to it very much. And now? Now everything had gone horribly wrong.
"I'll accompany you, Mr. Reynolds," Captain Grayson offered. Then she looked at Wardres.
"And you can go the other way with Mr. Scott and Mr. Samuels."
Malcolm just folded his arms and snorted.
"Like I'm going to fight my way through this jungle. No thanks."
Robbie immediately felt Leah tense up beside him. She hated guys like Wardres. And Robbie loathed the man just as much, but didn't show it so openly.
"Then I'll go with the two of them. If you're too stuck-up for that!"
"Wouldn't it be wiser if ye stayed here, mo chridhe? I mean... In case anyone else needs more medical help."
Robbie's gaze slid to the old Mrs. Reynolds, who still looked completely shattered and was standing beside herself.
The look on Leah's face told him that there was no way she was going to let Robbie go if she couldn't come with him, but she also knew how important she was as a nurse.
"All right... but promise me you'll be careful, yeah?"
A tentative smile formed on Robbie's lips and he nodded. He took Leah's hands in his and squeezed them gently.
"Of course."
A quick kiss goodbye and then the exploration teams set off into the depths of the jungle.
~
They hadn't been walking for too long when Samuels flinched next to Robbie.
"Did you hear that? There... there was something!"
Both men turned their heads to look around and they were very surprised to suddenly find some sort of weapon pointed at them.
"Woah!" Robbie raised his hands in the air and Samuels followed his example. Both of them looked frightened as hell as they stared into the face of what had to be an old human.
Robbie couldn't believe it. He hadn't expected that they would actually find life on this planet. Certainly not human one.
"W-we d-don't mean any harm," the Scotsman slowly started to explain, hoping that the man understood their language.
"W-we crashed," Samuels added, using his hand to show the movement of a crashing shuttle.
The man eyed them suspiciously, not lowering his old-fashioned weapon in the slightest bit.
For a moment, Robbie feared that he would shoot them any second, but suddenly their counterpart started to grin. His shoulders trembled as he started to chuckle.
"My, my, boys. You should see your faces. You look like you're about to shit your pants!"
A confused frown crossed Robbie's face. Who the heck was this guy?
"S-Sir?"
The man spread his arms open, a grin on his face.
"Welcome to my private planet! The name's Franklin Rutherford. A pleasure to meet you."
Robbie exchanged an insecure glance with Samuels next to him. The planet... belonged to that man?
"Why don't you boys show me where you landed and we'll get you and your people someplace warm and safe, huh?"
"We?" Samuels asked, brows furrowed, and only moments later more people emerged from the trees.
Robbie was astonished. How had they not noticed all these men sooner? How had they managed to be so quiet?
Rutherford's grin widened.
"This is my staff. They always stay around when I'm on the hunt. Now... let's get to my castle."
~
Robbie was holding Leah's hand in his as they walked through Rutherford's home. The man hadn't lied about it being a castle. The place was huge and gorgeous. There was no doubt that the owner was a very prosperous man.
"Welcome to my home. I hope you'll have a pleasant stay until help arrives," Rutherford said. He was walking in front of the little group, showing them around.
Wardres walked very close to him, obviously admiring the elegance and eloquence of their host.
"I can't believe that you own this whole planet, Mr. Rutherford. How much is it worth?"
Robbie didn't listen to the answer. He wasn't interested in all this stuff. He just wanted to contact Earth and get back home.
"Is everyone okay?" the Scotsman quietly asked his girlfriend next to him, looking at Mrs. Reynolds, and Leah nodded.
"I managed to help her calm down," Leah whispered back.
Of course she had. Leah was great at taking care of people. One of the reasons why Robbie loved her so much.
"How about you dine with me and stay the night? I'm sure tomorrow we'll be able to contact Earth," Rutherford said. He had explained to his guests that the shuttle had crashed due to a rare storm which was untraceable for Earth shuttle systems. As long as it lasted, all technical devices would fail.
Robbie had never heard of something like that and neither had Captain Grayson but they just had to believe it. After all, what else were they supposed to do?
"That sounds like a good idea," Mr. Reynolds said, hoping that that way his mother would finally get some rest. She was walking close to her son, holding his arm.
"Well then," Rutherford stopped in front of a huge door and looked at his guests with a smile before he opened it. "Let's eat."
~
Robbie was stuffed when Leah and him eventually lay down in bed. Rutherford had given them a huge and pretty room.
"I can't believe no one knows about this planet," Leah mused thoughtfully and Robbie nodded in agreement. It really was strange.
"And I cannae believe that storms like that exist. But then again... this galaxy is huge."
A soft sigh escaped Leah and she ran her hand through Robbie's hair, looking at his face.
"I'm just glad that we don't have to spend the night out there. Who knows what creatures lurk in the dark?"
Robbie chuckled.
"Oh, I'm quite sure ye could handle them. Ye can handle anything."
Leah grinned before she pulled her boyfriend in for a kiss. It didn't take long until the two of them fell asleep.
~
It was in the middle of the night when Robbie woke up and groaned. He really needed to take a pee. Quietly as not to wake Leah, he got up and out of bed.
As he walked through the long hallways, he couldn't help but wonder where exactly he'd find a bathroom. Rutherford had explained it to them, but the Scotsman had already forgotten about it.
Who could blame him? The place was huge!
He grabbed the old-fashioned doorknob of a room he believed to be the right one and was glad when it opened.
However, his heart sank as he took a look inside. It wasn't a bathroom.
It appeared to be... a trophy hall.
There were several stuffed creatures and heads hanging on the wall. Robbie had never seen most of them before, however, there was one wall that made his blood turn cold.
The heads hanging on it... belonged to several familar species. Andorians, Vulcans, Romulans... even Humans.
Robbie's eyes widened in fear as he slowly walked through the room.
And suddenly it all made sense. There was no storm or anything like that. Rutherford himself was responsible for the shuttle crash! And he had obviously caused many other crashes before.
For a long moment Robbie was frozen in his place, but finally his feet carried him out of the hall and back through the hallway.
He had to warn them! He had to warn Leah and the others! They had to get out of this place and-
A sharp pain in his neck caused Robbie to stumble and he dropped to the floor. He tried to get back to his feet, but in no time his body was numb.
Steps were coming closer and closer and suddenly someone knelt in front of him.
"My, my... looks like someone found out about my little secret, huh? Well, it isn't like you wouldn't have found out about it in the morning anyway."
Hands forcefully grabbed Robbie by his arms and he was pulled to his feet so that he could look into Rutherford's smiling face.
"I can't wait for dawn to come so that we can start the hunt. You and the other men will make great loot."
The old man's eyes sparkled with joy and he nodded at his staff.
"Put him into a cell. Then get the others. Wouldn't want anyone else to try an escape, would we?"
~
It was early in the morning when all the guests - no, prisoners - were lead outside.
The staff locked all the women up in a big cage while the men were forced to gather on a small spot in the middle of what had to be the mansion's garden.
They had all been dressed in simple dark-green clothing. Robbie assumed that it was so they would fit in better with the environment. A little challenge so the hunt would be harder for their hunter.
"Ah, everything is ready, I see."
At hearing that voice, the prisoner's heads whirled around and Robbie swallowed hard as he saw Rutherford coming closer, dressed in full hunting gear.
"The rules are easy, gentlemen. You run and try to hide from me. If you outlast until dusk, you and the women are free to leave. But I wouldn't hope for it if I were you. I'm an experienced hunter."
The grin on Rutherford's face was malicious as he pointed his old riffle right at Robbie's chest.
"This is crazy! You can't do that!" Leah screamed, her knuckles grabbing the cage's bars. Anger and fear were written all across her face.
Robbie glanced at her, his eyes wide in horror. He was scared as hell.
"I'll give you a head start of twenty minutes. Use that time to run as far as you can."
"You can't be serious!" Malcolm still couldn't believe that the man he had admired so much for his wealth had betrayed them.
"P-please..." Samuels was shaking in fear.
Reynolds didn't say a thing. He only stared at Rutherford coldly.
"Stop this insane game of yours! Right now!" Captain Grayson yelled, but their captor ignored her orders.
"Three... two... one... Go!"
He fired one shot into the air and the hunt began.
~
Robbie didn't know where he was going. His feet carried him through the jungle and he tried his best not to stumble.
His heart was beating out of his chest as he wiped at the tears in his eyes. He couldn't get the image of Leah out of his head.
Leah, locked up in that cage.
Leah, looking at him in despair.
Leah, scared for his life.
He didn't want it to be the last image he'd ever see of her. He wanted to see her smiling face again.
So he had to survive.
Robbie thought of the trophy hall and instantly felt sick. His head wouldn't end up on that wall! No way it would!
He couldn't tell how much time had passed, but the Scotsman startled when he heard a shot rang through the air.
It wasn't too far away from him so he increased his speed. He had to find a place to hide. He couldn't run forever.
More shots followed and Robbie winced at the sound of every single one of them.
Had someone been hit? Had they been injured or killed?
It was a horrible thing to imagine. To think that one of his companions was dead... None of them deserved it. Not even someone like Malcolm, even though Robbie despised him.
When he finally found a hollow tree to hide in, Robbie was all out of breath. He would stay in that place. Just for a bit to regain his energy.
He pulled his knees close to his chest and buried his face in them, trying not to sob too loudly.
This had to be a nightmare. It just had to be!
It had been supposed to be a great vacation. Just Leah and him. A lovely trip to one of the most beautiful starbases.
And now they were in the hands of a psychopath and...
Robbie froze and raised his head when he heard steps coming closer. He pressed himself tighter against the back of the tree, hoping that no one would see him.
And suddenly it happened.
A loud shot. A body dropping to the ground right in front of Robbie's hiding place.
He pressed a hand to his mouth to suppress a scream, gasping wide-eyed at the sight presenting itself to him.
There, right in front of the tree, was Reynolds.
His eyes were open and blood was pooling beneath his chest. But he was still alive and breathing. Robbie could see it.
Tears streamed down the Scotsman's face as he noticed that the officer was staring right at him.
"You were really fast, Mr. Reynolds. But not fast enough."
Rutherford knelt down next to the man, his back facing Robbie's tree, and grabbed him by his hair.
Robbie gasped silently as he watched the hunter place a knife at Reynold's throat.
He would kill him. He would cut the officer's throat. Unless...
Yeah, unless what? Unless Robbie would jump out of his hiding place and try to attack Rutherford from behind.
It wouldn't work. Never! He wasn't much of a fighter!
But he couldn't just watch a man get killed without trying to help either! It was against his nature and beliefs!
So he closed his eyes and took in a single deep breath, counting to three in his head, before he jumped out of the tree, right at Rutherford's back, tackling the man to the ground.
They started to fight, but it didn't even last more than ten seconds for suddenly a shot echoed through the jungle.
And in the moment his body dropped to the cold floor, Robbie noticed the fatal mistake he had made.
The riffle! When Rutherford had knelt down next to Reynolds he hadn't held it in his hand.
Because he had handed it to one of his men. The same man that had now pulled the trigger. The same man that had striked Robbie right between his rips.
He gasped in pain as he placed his hand on the bleeding bullet wound and moved his head to look at Reynolds who was lying next to him.
The man mouthed a silent 'Thank you for try-' before all eyes left his eyes. He was dead.
"My, my. You really tried to be the hero. To be honest, I didn't think you had it in you, Mr. Scott."
A hand grabbed his hair, pulling his head backwards and Robbie squinted his eyes when he felt the cold knife touch his throat.
"Let's end this game, shall we?"
His last thoughts were with Leah. He could only hope that Samuels or Wardres would survive so that she and the other women would be saved.
The last thing he felt was a sharp pain. Then everything was gone.

Hello, Co-Managers.
Tumblr media
Welcome to Emma%, a blog made for my Lobotomy Corporation agents, and their way to document their path to face the fear and build the future. There will be story elements based on these agents and gameplay will be posted sometimes... but its mainly just LC OC posting (because... why not? not everything needs a reason! - X).
But first, why don't we look at our Leaders? Besides, "a majority of them would like to know more about you as a person..."
—————
Tumblr media
This is Roselyn, the leader of the Control team. Roselyn is a former WARP Corp employee who decided to pursue something else that recently became a passion: slashing the shit out of monsters (and getting paid for it).
Roselyn is cold and unapproachable when you first meet her, but its mostly because she has a hard time unlearning the attitude she has while working in WARP Corp. You may occasionally see her chain smoking while working, or tell someone off for doing something incorrectly, whatever shes doing... you can tell that its caused by loneliness.
—————
Tumblr media
Say hello to Vera, one of the most careless and air headed agents that has ever graced this earth... and somehow managed to snag the title "Leader of the Information Team." Vera isn't that smart (and probably shouldn't be in the Information Team for that reason), but her strongest suit is with firearms, hoping that she can one day be as powerful as her father.
Vera is a wild card, no one knows what she's thinking nor what her next move could be. It doesn't help that she is RECKLESS with the magic bullet EGO, shooting magic bullets everywhere with no one making it out unscathed, its gotten to the point that she is considered the leading cause of death for clerks (Vera says otherwise).
—————
Tumblr media
Marinel is the leader of the Safety Team, and rightfully so. Although he suffers from emotional detachment, he tries to make it up with how he treats his co-workers and friends around him with no reason as to why. Because of his emotional detachment, he was gifted a Mini-Helper to emote for him by analyzing and predicting the way he talks.
Not much is known about him when it comes to personal affairs, as agents rarely see him do anything outside of work, and the times they do see him at work… he’s usually in a life or death situation. Marinel also suffers from amnesia, he isn’t sure what his true identity is… but whatever it is, he will still protect his team members from death.
—————
Tumblr media
And what is Emma% without Emma herself? The catalyst for this Lob Corp run herself, Emma has seen all… done all… and remembers all. One day, she hopes to use this knowledge to find her true self…
But she is also self centered and egotistical, believing that only her herself can see past the stars of the city, even becoming unpopular with multiple agents and Sephirot in the lower layers. Emma is cold hearted and knows that everyone around her is disposable, she trains them knowing full well that they will die sooner or later… but she knows that she will be the last person the manager will throw away, she is too important to be thrown away, she is “too perfect.”
—————
Tumblr media
Oh! This is Bella and Romi, The leaders of the Central Command Team! The reason why there's two of them is because managing a huge place by yourself is a draining and extremely difficult task.
Bella takes care of the upper part of the CC Team with an iron fist, she dislikes people not listening to her... but she's really selfless and would throw herself into dangerous situations if it meant that someone would appreciate her efforts as a team leader.
Normally this isn't an issue that our manager should care about... however, Bella's mental state is fragile, she craves praise and appreciation from others, even going as far to do things that shouldn't be humanly possible or should ever be done by a human, and she hides these desires out of fear that she would be judged.
Romi on the other hand, tends to the lower part of the CC Team with a gentle hand, he is very forgiving when it comes to people making mistakes, even offering them ways to help fix them. Romi dislikes doing suppression in the facility and would rather have people do the dirty work for him, it's not that he's lazy, its more of a mindset that he never broke out of.
Well… Romi never broke out of many habits ever since he got to L Corp, help from his coworkers were proven to be ineffective, and every attempt to find out why he acts this way has failed. There were also signs of him crying some… familiar weird green goo after wearing the black swan EGO, is that normal?
—————
Tumblr media
Mini-Capo is the leader (and therapist) of the Welfare Team, he is efficient at keeping his coworkers from going insane (while not batting an eye to The Horrors™️ himself) and causing a ruckus in the facility. Mini-Capo is a musician who loves music, and offers to lend an ear to his fellow employees.
What he doesn't know is that his current audience is not the same as the audience from the past, Mini-Capo has kept his old mindset for as long as he can remember, even (subtly) forcing it on other agents. Mini-Capo also believes that keeping a positive mindset no matter what is important to get through every day in this hell hole, even telling others to turn to toxic positivity.
“Whats that? Why is he so small? Why is he named after an EGO weapon? Well... go ask someone, maybe they'll know something! (but maybe not now... everyone is very busy in the middle and bottom layers!)” - X
—————
Tumblr media
Meet Minicry, the leader of the Disciplinary Team; and the former leader of the Mini-Agents. Minicry used to lead a small group of tiny agents for suppressions, slaughtering ordeals and abnormalities while also gaining a reputation amongst other employees. They believed that with everyone under their command, nothing bad will ever happen to them or to anyone else…
However, things took a turn for the worst when one of their team members had to be suppressed, killing half of the Mini-Agents. With most of their comrades dead and the other half no longer associating themselves with the team, Minicry suffered from survivors guilt, even believing that they’re a terrible leader and sacrificed their emotional health to become stronger.
—————
Tumblr media
Mini-Paradise is the most disliked agent AND leader amongst everyone in the facility; or in Emma's terms: "Mini-Paradise is a bitch ass motherfucker-" "Mini-Para is sadistic, manipulative, and a little piece of s**t, he has done nothing but f**k up our agents! Physically and Mentally!"
It's unknown how Mini-Para managed to be the most manipulative person in the facility, but his words can easily sway people into doing what he wants them to do, and when it doesn't go his way... Mini-Para can become aggressive really quickly. There was even a time when Mini-Para had to be suppressed, with him managing to kill multiple veterans and his own teammates… terrifying every single agent that has ever gotten hired ever since.
—————
Tumblr media
We actually don't have any information regarding the Extraction Team leader, since they are labeled as MIA and any record of them is missing. If you have any information on where they might be, please tell the manager... immediately.
—————
Tumblr media
And for our final agent on this list is no other than Solace, the leader of the Architecture Team. Solace is nothing but a person who mourns everyone and everything who couldn’t keep up with time, she dreams of turning back the clock and changing the outcome of every decision everyone has made… not knowing that the same clock has left her behind in the past.
Solace hates being seen and prefers to be an observer, even utilizing the diffraction EGO to hide herself and eavesdrop on people. she hopes that one day she can save herself and everyone from this 50 day time loop, but for now… she looks at everyone with sadness, knowing that there is nothing she can do to change their fate.
—————
"This list is not complete and will be filled out or revised later." - Angela
"Thanks Ange! You're the best! :]" - X

Lina I need to know more about your mahou shoujo story 👀👀
hi hi aurora!! warning 15 y/o lina's writing ahead
honestly i don't.. remember that story that well? it definitely was very important to me, but i cared about character designs and the mahou shoujo theme more than the actual plot jndksls
so from what i remember, that story didn't just have mahou shoujo elements and mental health theme. so like, you know how magical girls often have some kind of aesthetic they stick to? like animals, space, etc.. SO MY OCS HAD A CHEERLEADER THEME. THIS WAS MOSTLY AN EXCUSE FOR ME TO DRAW THEM IN CUTE CHEERLEADER UNIFORMS. but also it was important to the plot, because the whole story was supposed to be about some kind of game that the male characters were going to play and the girls were supposed to be here to support them or something like that.. i literally don't remember anything about the guys. i found them very boring and while i was able to draw references for all the giirls, with them i was like ". their outfits are so boring i don't wanna draw them" (younger me put her everything into female character designs and when it came to guys she was like "eh. you look fine i guess")
the only guy i remember (not counting the. the main guy) was basically just asahi but a redhead. i do not know why i already was so obsessed with all my original stories having a male character whose whole thing was that he's rich, spoiled and angry all the time, maybe that says smth about me.
the protag was a girl and here's the thing: her team was supposed to have five members, including herself. i remember every single member's mental illness/disorder BUT I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING ABOUT HER. i remember that other members had anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and i think adhd? but i don't remember anything about the protag.. all i remember is that she was very silly and goofy and had some memory issues (ironic.)
about the main guy. he was like, kinda supposed to be her love interest (but i also made sure to give her more chemistry with all the other girls instead of him.) BUT. THERE WASN'T JUST ONE MAIN GUY. THERE WERE TWO OF THEM. and the only difference between them was their hair color and that one of them wore glasses. yeah. but also the other main guy was from an enemy team and he was kinda weird and basically was protag's stalker.
the main twist was that the whole thing took place in a virtual reality THAT WAS ACTUALLY VERY IMPORTANT BC IT WASN'T INTRODUCED ONLY IN THIS STORY, IT CONNECTED LIKE AT LEAST FIVE OF MY OC STORIES. AND THERE WAS THIS WHOLE LORE, I EVEN REMEMBER DRAWING A TIMELINE OF EVERYTHING. but anyway her love interest was actually already an adult in real life and he created this virtual reality because the main girl's irl counterpart had committed suicide right in front of him many years ago and he wanted to create a world where she could feel like the main character and could feel loved and appreciated by everyone. i do not remember why his other version (the stalker one) was there too. probably bc the dude had a really bad self-esteem and wanted to make himself the villain?? but he also made himself her love interest. sounds kinda problematic now that i think about it but also i was 15 trust me some of my writing was. a lot worse
but anyway in the end the irl counterpart of the main guy dies while trying to protect his invention from that criminal organization leader from that earlier post of mine (he doesn't succeed btw and that world will be used for some very bad things later). the girl doesn't know about it and continues living there not knowing her world is going to change and not in a good way. the end

Movie Amy Rose , by someone who has only ever seen the movies, fanart, and three video essays:
What do I know about Amy? She's a bubbly, cute, adventure seeking, Sonic obsessed, tarro card wielding hedgehog of bright pink proportions. She often gets left behind, but is determined to prove herself and protect her friends. Adorable as she is, her hammer isnt and she isn't afraid to use it. While her friends are caught up in saving the world, she's there to take care of the little guys on the ground and doesn't lose sight of who their fighting for. Her mystical tarro cards are what brought her to Sonic, and since then she's been his number one fan, harboring a not so subtle crush on the blue blur. She's a talented cook/ baker who wants to open her own bakery someday. There's some theories (canon? I'm not sure) of her being able to sense Chaos energy, which is how she always knows where to find Sonic.
All around a very bright character who I think has a lot of potential in the Movie Universe.
First off, how would she join the team? Most likely she'll have heard about the epic Robotnic fight and how Sonic used the Master Emerald to save his family. In awe, she travels to earth to meet this hero. The idea I like better is that she (assuming she CAN sense Chaos energy) gets massive signals from earth due to Super Sonic and comes to investigate. This would immediately establish her as a determined, thrill seeking girl looking for adventure and would play into her wanting to join Sonic. Seeing Sonic as a means of adventure from a presumably boring life would explain her fast and furious crush on him
Whether or not she'll be well received is difficult to say. Movie Sonic seems a little less brass than game Sonic, so will probably try not to be rude or ditch her, but since her being left behind seems an important staple of her early character, it's not something the writers can completely cut. What's more likely is that Sonic won't be confident in her ability to take care of herself and would want her to stay behind for safety.
Her role may partially be a "prove yourself" sort of deal where she, having been left behind while Team Sonic deals with Shadow, strikes out on her own, determined to help and be apart of the story. After all, she came for adventure and to help Sonic, and is going to do so whether he likes it or not. In doing her own thing to help the conflict, she proves herself a valuable member of the team.
While she could do that by going in and kicking butt in a fight, it'd be cool if they drew on another major part of her character: taking care of the people that get overlooked when the world ends. I believe she helps this little floaty thing escape capture and reunites it with its family in one of the early games, even though she didn't have to and doing so put her in danger. This willingness to help others turns especially useful in-game as she talks Shadow into helping. Her playing a similar role in the movie would be a fantastic way to show her strength and value as a character while staying true to her established traits. It's shows the power of compassion and empathy and how a kind gesture can win a war punching can't.
This kind of character is very important for the team as they really come into their own as heros. Just like Tom learns that protecting his friends and family means more to him than proving himself as a big city cop, Amy serves as a reminder that taking care of those "little guys" is why they're fighting evil. Not forgetting the friends they're defending while they fight bigger and bigger foes will fit nicely into the established themes of family in the Sonic cinematic universe.
As far as representation goes, I think she has the potential to be a fanstatic role model for girls if the writing team does her character justice. Showing girls female characters who don't need no man and can take care of themselves is important, but so is showing all the other unique types of women out there and how each are strong and capable. Though I am Down to see Amy play whack-a-hoe with her hammer, keeping her character's strength in kindness and compassion (and the value that has on the plot, team, and characters) is infinitely more impactful. She's a perfect character for SEGA to demonstrate how a strong female character doesn't have to be a cut throat drill Sargent at all times, and that great power lies in a helping hand.
Apart from a gentler approach in character, I'd be thrilled if they kept her girly in appearance and speech like she is in the game. Love seeing characters decked all out in ribbons and bows while carrying massive hammers that make Thor cry.
Though I didn't grow up with this character, I have high hopes for seeing how she grows into an amazing on screen girlboss. The writers have done an amazing job of doing right by Tails and Knuckles, completely rectifing the recent decline in quality from some Sonic games. Saving those two allows me to put faith in them that they'll take care of Amy the same way and won't reduce her to a background character at best, annoying Sonic fan girl at worst.
Amy Rose has so much potential to be a unique and compelling character who can add so much to the team and story. With any luck we'll have this amazing girl back in business by the time Sonic 3 is half way through.
This is ALL opinion, and I'd love to hear yours!! Obviously I've never edited played the classic games, but she's a character who caught my attention when I entered the fandom and one who I can't wait to see on the big screen!

If you decide to do a part 2 to the oikawa cheating story. I have a few ideas.
Team find out and are completely livid. So much so that their anger scares his side bitch away cause “it’s too much to handle.” And “he’s too much to handle” and oikawa realises how amazing reader was to him. But it’s too late. Specially when he goes to see reader hoping to get back together only to see reader with someone else. (Ie iwa? matsukawa? ushijima? Kageyama?)
From 🐹 ( @multi-fandom-fanfic )
This is really late oof. I kept who the reader gets with at the end to be anonymous so you get to chose.
Tumblr media
It had been a while, since your break-up. You never really wanted to talk about it. This, however was impossable to avoid. You were close friends with his teammates so when you stopped coming to practice and he started coming back. They knew something was wrong.
"Y/N, what's wrong?" Iwaizumi asked. Him, along with the rest of the team were pretty nice to you.  Despite not wanting to talk about the situation, you spilled. And needless to say, they were mad. Of course they thought Oikawa was a jerk. This was something they had not expected from him however.
Cheating on his girlfriend? How could he?! People thought you two were stuck together forever. It wasn't your fault, you did what you should have done. It was his fault that your relationship was gone. His team told you to not worry about anything and they would talk to him.
"Oikawa." A member called. Oikawa, in his normally happy mood, walked over. This happy smile of his faded once he saw their angry faces. He asked what they were mad about concern clearly on his face. That's when the arugement began.
   "How could you?!"
"You know she cared about you more than anyone!"
"So many people wanted what you two had and you just threw that away!" These words were thrown about by diffrent players. This was one of the last things he thought his team would be mad about. Of course, cheating on someone isn't really something to be happy about. He just didn't think the team would be made about it because it wasn't their relationship.
The worst part is they even threatened to kick him off the team. He was shocked they would go that far for you. He just didn't go to practice that day, he kicked him self out of the gym. They didn't allow him back in the gym in till he apologized to you. The girl he was dating even started to drift away.
"Look, if your 'friends' treat YOU, like this, I don't want to know how they would treat me. So, basicly, we're done." He was astonished. It seemed everything started to leave him right before his eyes. His girlfriend, his other girlfriend, and his team.
To tell you the truth, he did regret doing the things he did. He lost so many important things in his life. He was starting to realize that it was because of his actions. That you had been so nice to him. That the world he knew was crushed by his own mistakes.
He chose to go up to you and tell you he was in the wrong. That he was over that girl, and that he wanted to be back you. He Last heard you would be on the school court yard, so he started heading there.
He saw you, you were by yourself but in a cheerful mood. He thought this was his time to strike. He started to walk over and apologize till another man walked up to you. His face was hard to make out, but anyone could still tell he was a volleyball player with the shirt he was wearing.
Oikawa started to wonder why you were talking to this man. A friend? A family member? He kept watching to see him grab your cheek gently and kiss you. You two started to walk off with a smile and happily chatting with one another.
Even that ruined. He couldn't even apologize to someone. He wasn't even with you anymore, but it felt like you were cheating. Is this how you felt? How he hurt you? He didn't even want to say sorry at this point. He just wanted to sit down and cry. He truly lost everything.

Hey dx. Seeking comfort. I'm a final year medical student and a few days ago my dad needed to be hospitalised for what was a bleed on the brain (I believe a subdural). I was very panicked and emotional speaking to the neurosurgeon and never told him I was a final year but felt reassured speaking to him. He explained the bleeding was on the brain and not in, and they'll drain the excess fluid because his ICP is rising. Those were words that provided reassurance but I spoke to my cousin who's a doctor and have just realised I didn't ask anything relevant or important... I feel so stupid and embarrassed that I'm in my final year and I couldn't even ask what sort of bleed it was or anything relevant... I don't even know what's going on and I'm embarrassed to even speak to my cousin. I don't even want to seek comfort because everyone will just think I'm stupid. It's such a stupid thing to be upset about but I can't help but feel guilty and embarrassed about all of this, that my dad is hospitalised and I can't even tell people what's going on. How am I supposed to be a doctor when I can't even help my own father. I just feel so exhausted and drained and I am starting a new placement today which my dad really wanted me to go to so I'm not even near him. I feel so guilty I just wish I was smarter and a better daughter. I know he doesn't care but my cousin asking me so many questions and I can't answer anything and I know she's probably so confused as to how I'm in my final year.
I'm sorry to be answering these out of order. I actually had an answer penned for this, and I'm sorry it disappeared - I honestly thought it had been posted! I'm sorry my reply is late, and couldn't help you when you felt down. But I'm glad your dad is doing much better now. Nevertheless, it's HARD to be us when someone close to us is sick. It's hard to be two things at once - both a loved one and a doctor. I really wouldn't beat yourself up about not being able to remember all the things you wanted to ask, that's an extremely normal reaction when you're put in a stressful situation in which a scary diagnosis and lots of information is given. It happens to most patients and family members, even fi they are medical staff. We're trained to understand medicine, and to react quickly and decisively in life and death situations, but it's still completely different when it's our loved ones - and that's why we're not allowed to go operating on our mum, or treating our husband's cancer or treat ourselves. I have to admit, there are times when I feel like a bad daughter, too. Like maybe I should keep a closer eye on my dad's HBA1c, or make sure my mum gets her moles checked. Maybe I check in with my relatives and their health problems more. When you care about people, you also run the risk of feeling like you have to take on worrying about them all, too. Ultimately, I've come to accept that whilst I can touch base, I can't micromanage everyone's health. That'd be a full time job in itself. But I think I know the feeling, and I know it's hard to deal with. I'm so sorry that you went through such a stressful situation, and that on top of that you felt guilty and bad for your response. It's up to the medical team to tell you the relevant information, but also to give you time for it to sink in if needed. And it's OK fi you couldn't think of questions or absorb it all at the time. I think you're a wonderful daughter, and I'd be proud of you. You went through a very stressful time doing the best that you could, and I'm sure he's really proud of you. We're usually our worst critics. But I think you've done admirably. I'm really glad that you shared your story with me, and that your family is doing better.

tagged by @liltaz-asatreat to find some words in my wips :O gonna put it under the cut bc it's sorta long
for "stars", i've got this bit from my lil blupeans baby angus wip:
And that circles back around to Aunt Lucretia and Dad. They were both very smart, too, but Dad was goofier. He had Angus laugh and laugh until he was exhausted. He had funny stories and was good at teaching Angus about the world. Aunt Lucretia was funny, too, but it was quiet. She would let Angus sit in her lap on the days were Dad was away so they could look up at the stars together. Aunt Lucretia was headstrong and stubborn, but then again, Dad was too.
They both told him it was important to have a team, but they went and did things by themselves. They told him to be smart, be careful, but they ended up making the same mistakes over and over. They planned their moves down to a T, but it was always against each other. They were the same person, on different sides of the chessboard. Angus liked to imagine they were both Queens because they could both do anything they wanted but it never really worked out because they were stuck in their heads.
The most prominent difference Angus had noticed was that Dad referred to Angus’s mom with present tense, like “she’s a horrible singer, but I love her anyway”, while Aunt Lucretia would use past tense, like “she would have loved this art, Angus, it’s very nice.”
He was six when he broke the question. He did it separately, so as to not cause an argument.
for "light", got this one from a merle n lucretia focused wip. who knows what it's about yet sdkfsd
“Just a little break,” Barry said.
“A little one,” Lucretia said, backtracking a few feet and setting herself down next to Merle. Barry grunted, lowering himself down next to her. Above her, the sky was darkening into night, the color going a deep purple. Above the track, a few stadium lights had come on. Merle let out a sigh and when Lucretia looked over, he had put his hands behind his head.
“This is fun,” Merle said. “I like y’all.”
“I like you too, Merle,” Lucretia said, genuinely. “And Barry, of course.”
“Right back at’cha,” Barry said. He folded his hands on top of his stomach. “I think I gotta take like, a three-hour nap after this.”
“Count me in,” Merle said.
“We’re just going into space,” Barry said. “If I gotta run in space, I don’t wanna go.”
and for "dark", i've got another bit from the merle n lucretia thing. merle's not in this bit sadly, it's just barry again slfdksd
Said training had been split into three groups: Physical, mental, and emotional.
Lucretia was… bad at all of them.
The mental training consisted of a combination of theoretical questions and being confined in small spaces with other crew members. Davenport took particular delight in locking Lucretia in a room with anyone.
First, it had been Taako in their private locker room. He had refused to look at her the whole time.
The second time had been with Barry, in a dark closet, which hadn’t been good at all, but at the very least made for someone interesting conversation. Lucretia had never met anyone who carried glowsticks on them at all times, but the moment they had realized they were stuck, Barry had immediately cracked one to life, and then another, and then five more. Lucretia left the closet half an hour later when Davenport came back for them, wearing three glow necklaces.
anyone who wants to can do this, ig? w the same words or maybe "sweet", "red", and "happy" if u want :O. i don't have energy to figure out who has or hasn't been tagged in this so just do it if u wanna sldfsd

I just beat the dlc for Monster hunter Rise. I definitely am feeling, mixed about the scientist character.
I could probably send you a giant paragraph--and I was till i realized it was a 12 paragraph essay that I was about to drop in your inbox. But basically at its core, its a Scientist who often gets distracted. He sometimes doesn't follow though with expected societal normals. (You go to shake his hand, he does not shake your hand, and the protagonist just looks so upset at that! To be fair, he's distracted at that moment by field research, and had seen something that he felt was incredibly important. )
The character is a non-human character, kinda. (He's a Wyverian, which is basically their Elf-people. They have four fingers, elf ears, and long lifespan. Wyverians frequently show up as Researchers/leaders of the government structures, so the fact that he's a wyverian scientist isn't exactly suspicious, but the fact that he seams to be coded with something while also being a different species then the human ones feels a little dubious.
The other characters also frequently express annoyance at him. Like extreme annoyance. Like, the leader fellow outright says 'His genus has more then earned him a place on this team, even if he is annoying'. Which is kinda terrible to say when he's standing right there next to him!
Often because he will frequently ask them if they ate/rested, which he admits is something he finds to be a problem. (He gets so distracted by his science work that he forgets to eat/drink, until it hits him all at once. Because he often does this, he wants to warn the others/don't have them suffer the same mistakes he does. He also asks you to do the same of him-he deserves to rest too! )
Basically, I definitely feel mixed things to this character. While I ultimately like them, I also worry about the portrayal a bit. Figured I'd tell you about them since you discussed doing some sort of essay about harmful autistic portrayals in the media. While i'm not sure he's particularly harmful, that uncertainty probably is a good thing to be told about, and there could be things you're noticing that I did not. . There are definitely parts I "dislike", but the parts I disliked where more "These characters really are being mean to him when he's just trying to be nice/helpful/caring. This feels far to realistic. ".
The fact that he's a Wyverian is also sorta, iffy to me. Where in universe there are plenty of justifications/reasons why this would be the case, so it leaves me wondering 'Is this okay because there were reasons, or is it still sorta iffy' . (Wyverians are often scientists, and this is a scientist character. Also him being old enough to know certain information was used as a plot point)
Since the dlc is incredibly new, and its unlikely you'd find a lot of information on the character specifically, figured i'd tell ya about him. I probably didn't do the best job. (The games aren't' known for their stories so longplays/other gameplay probably won't talk to every character repeatedly at every opportunity, and thus his dialogue about wanting to keep others from making his repeated mistakes is very easily missed.)
This is a great example of what we call "autistic coding." This character isn't stated to be autistic outright, but he acts visibly autistic, right down to hyperfocusing and forgetting to eat (something I know I've done many, many times in my life).
There's a fine line with autistic-coded characters being non-human species. It's one thing if most of the members of the species act neurotypical, and this one in particular seems autistic, because that's more representative of what it's like to be neurodivergent - you're in the minority. But if an entire species acts this way, it can be verrrry iffy, because if the entire species is autistic-coded, it feels more like "these aliens/elves/non-humans represent how autistic people are not human," which is obviously a terrible message to send, unless you're specifically doing it to show that autistic people aren't seen as human and that changes during the story due to advocacy.
Unfortunately, it seems pretty realistic in the sense of people just saying he's annoying right in front of him, because I know I've experienced that, and so have most other autistic people at least once. They act like we either can't hear them or straight-up do it to be mean, and it hurts. I grew up thinking I had to be excessively useful to get people to keep me around, because otherwise I'd be "too annoying" and cast off, and that ultimately ended horribly for me because I fell into an emotionally abusive friendship in undergrad out of a desperate desire to not be alone and to continue to be helpful/a good friend.
I guess a good way to look at it is like this:
Is he shown as different not just from the humans, but the other Wyverians?
Do his own people refer to him as "odd" or "annoying," or is it only humans?
Is it normal for his people to not shake hands as a greeting? Do they have their own greeting that he also is too distracted to do?
If he's an oddball amongst his own people, it's very different from his entire species being coded as autistic. It can often come down to how other people like him see him - if other members of his species also sees him as "weird" or "annoying," then he's probably being coded pretty well. If he's representative of his species as a whole (i.e. he's the only one you ever see, or they all act like him), then it can veer towards a more dangerous area.
Thank you for letting me know about this - I'll definitely look into this one and see how the fandom portrays him if I can!

Important day for you 드디어 has come 🏨🥲🙌🥳🙏😇💪💯
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's been a while, been busy with work, travel, hosting people here and there till I couldn't remember to update about 'this journey'. Marlene Jie came, Bebey came, Yoora came, Han Sang Hyuk jibsanim came, busy with my lifegroup, work that thankfully never ends, teaching Norman, visiting family in Surabaya, date w my brother, took care of our villa, met up with Bella, Pat, busy busy busy.. Last interaction was perhaps he loves my IG story with bey + when Yoora posted my pic while picking her up at the airport. So ever thankful for October that God provided been most fulfilling so far (apart from Aug ;)) and I believe God is at work, even when it seems He's silent and I don't make any progress. I also learnt about Aquarius AHAHAHA cmon marsh, but i think sifat2nya ada mirip: CUEK, PROVE WITH ACTION, so I learn emang dia ky gitu ENFP pula and I believe by God's grace, he knows what he's doing.
I sent him small gifts through Yoora, it made my heart kinda flutters again because while she and Sara were here they were teasing me and Gwang Hui, they said: cmon Eonnie, everybody knows about you and GH, who went to noraebang just berdua?? Ber4 ber3 itu wajar, tapi ber2? Geugoneun daeiteu <3 hahaha emang, as much as I want to claim it as one, I hope he thinks the same way.
Anyway that's not important, after receiving the gifts he sent me messages, video, photo and thank me by Shella Nuna//// we talked about our both soon a little bit (told him about dede n stuff), he also said I only 1 month left with my group, so I guess he's focusing on ending his work first, his duty and planting as much seeds as possible to his current members, before preparing his way to Bali (guess you have 1 whole month of December to prepare)~ In the meantime he spent time with his supercute nieces 3 girls like Yusosu! What a coincidence, of course for marsela the cocoklogi girl hahaha.
While me? I have also been doing quite the same thing: helping BSF, teaching norman, learning korean, facilitating my soon members, hosting the korean team who keeps coming, helping Han jibsanim looking for church buildings (that was the most tiring day of all month), and guess what? Jibsanim posted everything in our Kakao group that's loved by him of course thank you hahaha..
Cepet banget ya Tuhan bekerja, ky ga percaya within 3 months kita di granted dana besar untuk pindah gereja, dan caranya itu loh bner2 bukan cara manusia, krn me n bella literally not doing anything and cannot take credit. And pas Yoora forum aku blg gatau gmn tithe yg bener, 3 hari kemudian dijawab dg kesaksian jibsanim, therefore I decided to give 50jt as my perpuluhan dan juga renov bathroom gereja baru kita <3 tbh gaada yg bisa aku banggain sih, bulan ini smua kerjaan ku lancar banget, smua akad kredit di approve and I received ratusan juta. I think God is also testing my obedience (while my villa still on progress), and of course I will just follow His way, I pray that I can return what's His in the first place to expand His kingdom. Aku uda takut bgt waktu Ko Wilson kesni, turned out smooth bgt, aku cm doa Kristus walau uda gabisa tidur berkali2, it's like God showed me: ketakutanmu gaakan terjadi Marshella, fight the satan's voice of fear with God's words, hancurkan kegelapan dengan doa, be obedient and prioritize Him in every areas of your life. He cares about your spiritual growth as much as your work, your love life, all the things that you may thought He didn't or He's been silent.
Kl berefleksi, gw pun kok bisa gak tergoda sm cowo2 indo, colleague, or even si sungchan yg suka DM2/kakao wo. Same thing I believe God protected Gwang Hui from what is not his.
In the meantime, fokuslah sama apa yg ada di depan mata, jadi lah teman yg baik untuk sekitarmu, maafkan org2 yg mgkn bersalah, buang prasangka thdp orang yg Tuhan kirim di hidupmu, use your time wisely, beresin villamu, spend time sm adik dan keluarga mu sebelum kamu berkeluarga sendiri dan harus sibuk urus keluarga suamimu.
Hari ini 2 hari sebelum peringatan 9 tahun mama meninggal, Gwang Hui posted di IG (as pictured above), I think his last day at Korea University Hospital huhuh.. dalam kehaluanku, dia pasti nurse yang di treasure semua colleague nya, 3-6 tahun bukan waktu yg sebentar, but i'm glad he is walking in obedience, following God's plan for his life. Urineun chukeum bites anichi gwuanghuiya? I think nunado lumayan di sayang org2 sekitar, I hope that what makes we can walk together in the future, seiman dan sepadan. Ok excuse kehaluan ini, tapi bener2 gawatnya, ga pernah kynya ada 1 hari gw ga mikirin GH, tiap hari ada aja yg bikin kepikiran, pictures berdua di jimbaran again dlm keadaan pacaran (remake foto PI ceritanya) aduhaduhaduh gila bgt mmg pisces, tapi perkataan adalah doa. Mana kemaren di surabaya gw bilang sm tante da n om hap, mobilku itu yg siap dijual kapan aja kl aku harus pindah keluar negeri lagi (korea for a while maksudnya), entah kenapa ada feeling gt walaupun nantinya tetap balik ke Bali. Ya anyway semua sesuai kehendak Tuhan aja. So let's not focus on the future, aku saat ini cm mau mencintai Tuhan setiap hari, melewati hari2 dengan nikmat anugerah Tuhan, menjadi saksi kebesaran Tuhan dalam menulis cerita hidupku, berbagi bgm Tuhan bekerja dg cerita, waktu, materi dan semua yg Tuhan mampukan aku. Sekali lagi, chukaderimida nae sarang, sugohaesseumnida, na yogi neo gidariyo! Appeuchimalgu, hangbokhaeyo, spend a lot of time with your appa, chukadeul, last moments with sun members, you'll surely greatly missed by each of them as you're making your way to come here. Nuna will pray for you always, let's meet in prayer, oneulbam do!
