It is so easy to recognize when an american person writes a fanfic. This is a continuation of my other "eggs and bacon in Japan" rant. It is... It is not that hard to do research for your fic when it's not in the UUSS... (Been reading a lot of fanfics lately)

The fact that some people have to pay to breathe the same way humans should normally. The fact that some people have to pay to see the same way humans should normally. The fact that some people have to pay to hear the same way humans should normally. The fact that many many people have to pay to have basic bodily functions, to have normal bodily processes. To pay to exist and survive the same way humans should normally. How does this alone not radicalise you. How are you not filled with immediate, righteous fury at even the thought of the American healtchare system that capitalises off of countless people's basic needs.

HOLY SHIT THIS MESS WITH MY HEALTCHARE NETWORK GETS WORSE LMAO
I can't actually access it that way.
I can, in fact, only access it via a link to early check-in (even though I've already completed that) from an email for a test.
What the FUCK.

I am so bored with Eastern Orthodox church iconography that I'm now mentally writing a modern Jesus & the Apostles AU, in which they're a motorcycling Mafia gang doing their best to help random people who are falling through the cracks of the US healtchare and social systems.

I love it when i have effably leftist teachers who are so obviously done with their jobs and they leak progressive rhetoric into their lessons as a form of malicious compliance... Yes please keep sneaking in sardonic remarks about our healtchare system... you are our last line of defense

I do think it’s a little funny but also concerning that a lot of people take “you should read/ watch stuff (about politics) that you disagree with” to mean “if you’re a leftist you should sit down and read breitbart and listen to offensive talk radio and watch fox news all day, every day” when it actually means you should look for news sources that don’t constantly cater to your very, very specific ideas for how the world should be (so like, actual news), ex. read or listen to some articles from different people with different opinions on prison reform or implementing universal healtchare.
The goal to listening to a diversity of opinions is to get more information and to balance out your emotions. When you live in an echo chamber - which is what social media is designed to allow - or when you only take in information that caters to opinions you’ve already formed or only talk to people who already agree with you, emotions and ideas become more extreme. And just reading, listening, or watching to only the most radical and obviously rephrensible voices on the complete opposite end for a few minutes, or constantly for some twisted reason, of whatever issue you’re concerned about isn’t a good idea. Just. With huge, complex problems there’s a variety of experiences and ideas and it is good and useful to learn what more than one or two groups have to say about them. It helps you understand the issue better and lessens the effect of emotional manipulation. And puts you in a position to communicate your opinions better to people who don’t automatically and already agree with you. And helps you to develop better ideas.

A better-drawn McConnell tries to reform healthcare. Too many lines in this one...
