Do you know how hard it is to be both an ivypool fan AND a dovewing fan? Anyways, I feel like the reasons for why I enjoy ivypool is different from why some other people enjoy her character? And also different from how the erins write her. Basically, I feel like people see ivypool as this "girlboss" character when she's like girlfail. girlcringe. She is this spiteful, resentful, hypocritical character. Not to say what she went through wasn't awful (it was), but she holds onto this idea of dovewing abandoning her.

Wait, quick tangent: her relationship and how she views dovewing is sooooo interesting. In a very weird way, I think ivypool is fond of the idea of dovewing. She holds onto their early kit days when they were the best of friends and couldn't be separated. But then shit happened. I honestly think ivypool is scared of dovewing abandoning her. But due to her personality, she (probably) also believes that if she abandons dovewing first, then it won't hurt as much. That's why she lashes out at her sister so fucking much. It's why she hates that she got with tigerheartstar. Dovewing leaving to live in shadowclan, in ivypool's eyes, was her paranoia come true. And ivypools hypocrisy really shines through with dovewing. She expects her sister to drop everything and prioritize her over everyone else. But she doesn't do the same for dovewing.

Okay, tangent over. What I want to say is that ivypool does things in spite. She continuously trains in hell and spies on the dark forest, even though her spying doesn't give results. Why? Because dovewing doesn't want her to train in hell. She is willing to let her apprentice's family die because dovewing and tigerheartstar might be in the same patrol. The erins spin this like it was the right and wise thing to do, but it isn't. A lot of her actions feel like she's trying to punish dovewing.

I think ivypool is an example of an extremely toxic character that just. doesn't get better. It would be nice to see her get over herself, but it's not going to happen. This is why ivypool and blossomfall were made for each other-

Harestar gives up his spot bc he’s a little wimpy or he dies either one, Crowfeather goes to step up and take the spot like he think he deserves only to be MURDERED by Breezepelt. Confused and unsure cats look around for who could possibly help them only to have Heathertail step up and start trying to fix of all the chaos.
