it’s the morning after the night christopher called buck dad.

eddie sits at the kitchen table watching buck teach christopher how to flip a perfect pancake and remembers christopher telling his teacher these are my dads, rushing off to meet his friends without so much as pausing to see buck’s reaction.

he’s not even sure christopher realised it was the first time, but buck definitely had. buck had frozen beside him until eddie had squeezed his hand and tugged him along, and for rest of the night every time eddie looked over at him buck was looking at christoper, an awestruck kind of wonder in his eyes.

they’d talked about it that night, after they’d come home and sent christopher off to bed—buck kept bringing it up, worried he was overstepping somehow, and each time eddie kissed him and reminded him he’s been christopher’s dad for years in every way that matters.

and now it’s the morning after and buck and christopher are flipping pancakes and eddie is sipping coffee at the kitchen table calling out suggestions, and buck is telling him off for backseat spatula handling and eddie’s holding in a comment about a different kind of backseat handling because their son is in the room, and eddie’s pretty sure life has never been this good.

🪄what is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic?

OH GOD! I need to get better about this. Buttttt back in the day when I was just another faceless writer stuck at home with nothing to do during the shut down, I would read a fic. It replenished the bees in my brain.

Whatever fic @mistmarauder wants. 😜😘

But in all seriousness podficcing is such a thankless job and it should be done on projects that give the podficcer as much joy as possible.

💋when you leave comments on a fic, do you want to hear back from the writer?

It's not a want per se? I don't respond to comments because I find it takes up A LOT of my energy to respond and then I worry about sounding super repetitive and then all that energy gets zapped from actually writing. Plus it helps just protect my own peace and is good practice for when I eventually become published since reviews become readers' spaces that I wouldn't and shouldn't have much control over. So I don't mind when authors don't respond! But I also love when they do! Sometimes it turns me into a cat and then you can't get rid of me (looking at you my beloved @buddie-buddie )
