Since jealousy is apparently the key to getting wukong to realize his feelings, and you said he didn't even realize at all in rin rin route; imagine that in saving Yue macaque kills her father, becomes the new heir cause he's Helen of Troy there, and (since I don't think Mac or Shanzha would go back to be heartbroken, but also macaque doesnt hate wukong so no reason to completely cut contact) ffm get informed by letter Yue is saved and about prince macaque. Wukong of course will visit cause he misses his "bestie" and see just how popular Mac is.

To answer your question directly concerning the scenario you wrote out: yes. Wukong would be filled with a horrible mixture of jealousy/yearning/guilt. But hey, he’s not alone. RinRin would be feeling the exact same thing. What a pair they make.

But things wouldn’t exactly play out that way post RinRin Route.

So, while the death of Yue’s Father is a certain thing after Macaque and Shanzha return to the Land of Eternal Snow, it’s a bit more complicated than that. Their intention was only to grab Yue and lead a quiet together in some corner where no one would bother them. Things happened which I won’t expand on since it’s a major spoiler to Queen of the Mountain. A lot of people died (including Yue’s Father).

After the dust settled, there were only a few members of the clan left and an empty clan head seat. And no, Macaque didn’t take it. Shanzha did. It’s her bloodline right as the oldest surviving member of the main line. Technically, it should be Yue who is next in line as the daughter of the Clan Heir, but she was too young.

Shanzha took the seat of power so she can clean things up for Yue to inherit. When other demon clans started to attack the very vulnerable Zodiac Monkey Clan, Shanzha and Macaque took arms and they led them to victory, accidentally expanding their territory. Shanzha was very, very good at fighting and winning, so she became known as a warlord - even though it was other demons attacking her and not the other way around????

Macaque took a role of an advisor since he knows what ruling is like and can see from a mile away that Shanzha was accidentally making an empire. He just wanted the best for their niece, who he’s terribly fond of and wants to give the world to her.

Since they were already co-parenting and have no interest in starting a romance with, well, anyone after their respective heartbreaks, the two get platonically married. It boosts Shanzha’s image anyways to have such a gorgeous mate who’s “devoted” to her and her alone. They make it work.

Now, Wukong - despite some changes - still somehow manages to get himself into trouble with Heaven (eats their peaches, drinks their wine, and steals all the pills) and gets thrown under the mountain. Maybe it’s a self-sabotaging thing. Or maybe it’s an effort to give RinRin immortality so she wouldn’t have to depend solely on his feelings since he realized that his love for her wasn’t as strong as he thought (lol it’s your guilt that’s keeping her there, silly).

Macaque and Shanzha respond when they hear of FFM’s burning. They give help, supplies, and troops to help defend the island as it recovers. Shanzha went directly there herself, reunited with RinRin for a time, before returning to her territory. Of course, there’s lots of unearthed feelings and pining but they leave it open ended since they have responsibilities.

Wukong, on the other hand, has his reunion with Macaque during his journey to the west. He and his pilgrim brothers come across the Land of Eternal Snow and are treated as important guests. No demon shenanigans. Just Wukong blatantly pining over his best friend. Who’s married to the warlord. And has an adorable child.

Zhu Baije: Brother, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but stop flirting. You’re going to get us kicked out.

Wukong: What do you mean? I’m not flirting. I’m just happy to see my best friend after all this time!

Everyone: …

Tripitaka and the other pilgrims are worried about Wukong offending the Warlord but nope, she’s too busy pouring her heart out on her most recent message to the Queen of FFM - updating her about her husband’s whereabouts, of course.

Macaque is doing well. He’s respected, loved, and lusted after by many. What do you mean he’s still not over Wukong? He’s the warlord’s husband. He’s the heiress’ doting guardian. What more does he want?

(Wukong, apparently.)

By the time Wukong has to move on, nothing is resolved aside from Yue getting the most powerful uncle in the world to support her claim to the clan head seat.

For the rest of the journey, Wukong is insufferable. He’s either waxing poetic about his “best friend in the world” or fuming over how Macaque still has demons throwing themselves at him despite his married status.

Whether these celestial monkey idiots resolve their complicated relationship or not is left open-ended. But there’s certainly a lot of pining. And doting over Yue because she deserves the world.

The taxidermy thing is mainly a joke, stemming from how in canon Pages says, without an ounce of irony, that it would like to taxidermy someone it likes. Naturally I must make jokes about Briar taxidermying pages before it taxidermies her !

In all seriousness, briar is immortal because she drinks immortal juice and that tends to mess ppl up after a while. Also uh a stint with red honey contributes to this, which is its own bag of worms. She’s already got an unhealthy attachment to Pages. And Pages, in canon (in the dating sim at least) hints that it would kill the player character if they broke up with it. So you’ve got one casually cruel obsessive possessive control freak villain bat, and one morally deteriorated immortal who is also an obsessive possessive control freak. They’re in love your honor

However, Briar loses more of her humanity as more time passes. Being the muzzled dog that she is, she bites (sometimes literally lol) and out of resentment/abandonment issues/fear, she’ll one day bite the hand that feeds her and have to be put down, if you get my drift

Look, maybe it's just me, and people will probably think I'm wrong and/or gross, but I really don't see Lin being all that fussy about having to share a toothbrush with her girlfriend.

We know that Lin worked her way up the chain of command (because that's how it works). I personally think that she worked street patrol as a fresh uniform. I don't doubt that Republic City has its own issues with homelessness, sex work, drunkards, and various types of accidents. She's absolutely seen and dealt with worse.

I also headcanon that Lin's worked on homicides. Hard to get grosser than dead, possibly decomposing bodies.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that people act like Adam's past was so long ago. The SDC had him working for them as a child, that wasn't that long ago. It's still in current-day of RWBY, you see that as a thing during the Atlas arc.

🌅 - Do they miss the Surface? What was their life like up there?

The Heiress, on the whole, really doesn't miss their life on the Surface. Discovering your gender and undergoing frankly tectonic levels of political awakening will do that to you. (That said, sometimes on particularly melancholy days they do miss a few bits of being on the Surface. For all the Neath's wonders there are a lot of subtle and beautiful things they wished they'd appreciated more on the surface.)

Most of their time on the surface was unremarkable, a youth spent as a minor cog in the English aristocracy, second in line to an increasingly less important title. They were just another young boy in a grammar or private school, very much middle of the pack, who would never have put their gender and discomfort together. Their older brother was much more of a prodigy and the favoured child, but he was very close to the Heiriess. They looked up to him a bit more than was maybe healthy for their own self-esteem, but despite how often people would bemoan that the Heiress wasn't like their brother the two of them were genuinely close friends, and he definitely stood up for them more than would be expected.

In the Heiress's last year of schooling, their brother died and everything went to shit.

🔥 — Least favourite Master of the Bazaar?

Honestly? Despite everything, it's probably Mr Fires. A lot of the Heiress's more practical and lower scale awakening to Revolutionary ideals was born of labour activism and seeing the horrors of the Neddy Men, and that's before stuff on the Railway and its position as a factory-owner. Don't even get the Heiress started on Scheme of a Phoenix. They don't have any love for any of the Masters, really, but Fires is the one they actively hate the most.

I see a lot of people say that Adam’s writing was horrible, which I do agree with. But what I tend to see from that discussion is that simply giving Adam a redemption story arc would solve a lot of this issue.

No, no it wouldn’t have.

You can’t just slap on a Zuko esque “rising from the ashes” kind of story beat and expect that to work for any logical reason. Adam’s problem isn’t that he’s irredeemable, that factor imo is what could make him stand out as a unique character if handled properly!

The real issue is that Adam’s potential is squandered and rewritten to be a tool for useless ship baiting. Because CRWBY at that point in V3 saw the monetary potential of milking this Bumblebee cow for all it’s worth.

But then they also realized that Blake and Yang don’t have any real fucking connection to each other beyond one conversation in V2. Seriously, their dynamic is barely grazing the depths of an average muddy rain puddle after a light trickle of a Sunday shower.

So what do they do?? Make Adam a direct retcon for Yang and Blake to suddenly have a lot more trauma dump, somehow mask all of that as deep and romantically tragic, absolutely RUIN the real aspect of Adam as a Faunus terrorist doing what he believes is right even if he has to murder people for it, and just called it a fucking day after that!

TLDR; Adam being a bad guy isn’t the problem with his character, it’s him being used as a stepping latter for a shitty couple. 😤

Yeah, Adam not getting a redemption arc isn't what made his character so shit. It's that the writers didn't give him or his story the nuance or delicacy it needed.

Rather than going into his character, his past subjugated under the most oppressive kingdom as a child, his legit brand that's blinded him, or how his methods differ from Blake's in an actual intelligent way, they just decided to make him as disgusting as possible, with further implications due to Barbara and Arryn putting him in his early twenties while Blake was only 17.

They treat Blake and the Belladonnas' way as the right way. The issue is that, for something as complicated as racism, especially societal racism that stretches across the entire world, there is no singular right way. There's no peaceful vs terrorism in the real world, there's people who want to try more peaceful means, and there's people who push for more action, and neither of them is wrong in it.

And this isn't just a negative on Adam's story, Blake's suffers just as much because they are both of the same story. They both are trying to fight an impossible enemy, and while Adam's anger at the system is flanderised into an abusive terrorist who wants to subjugate humanity, Blake's is flanderised into passivity who buckles and bauks at any form of violence.

Adam could've been a good villain, but you need to put effort into doing so. His death could've been what Nevermore was trying to paint it as; a boy who was lost and couldn't find his way out of his anger and grief. But what the show instead did was made him irredeemable, throwing every negative trait at him regardless of nuance or complexity.

And then the writers have the nerve to talk about how much he sucks, how Garrett hated voicing him, how they were glad he died and constantly joked and demeaned him and what his character is meant to be.

Like, my dude, who wrote him that way?

Kamenshi still has bite marks from the Doomer attack that resulted in losing his arm. If he wears his prosthetic for too long, it starts irritated the wounds. He can sometimes get phantom limb pains, even when he's wearing his prosthetic arm, which is extremely painful. :(

Halcandrians need about ten hours of sleep every day, so Aeon learned how to space out those ten hours for maximum comfort and so she's not sleeping anytime anyone wants to do something fun. When she fell into Another Dimension, she barely slept four hours every "day", which resulted in her already poor health getting worse until weeks after she got home. ;-;

Kaseki likes to feel Kamenshi's feathers when she's asleep, and sometimes shoves other people away from his feather mane so she gets it for herself. XD

Inviting Anzu over here had been for a different reason other than clothes, though. Considering the activity they were going to be partaking in, she only felt it fitting for them to be dressed for the occasion. Ballroom dancing was difficult to learn without the proper dress, for its shape and how it affected one's movements were crucial to executing the moves correctly.

Oh, how much fun this was going to be!

Michiru wasn't even faced when she received a clear sign of disapprovement from Kazuki when explaining her most outrageous client who had been an idiot at first and how they had behaved before taking her offer and explaining the case at hand. It may have been direct and passive aggressive, but what had happened was something she couldn't just ignore.

"What. I just said that I called out that client from assuming I'd be cheap to request and task and then clarified that my prices are seen on a list what was updated due to the new workforce I had hired to help me with." In her opinion it wasn't that preposterous to correct them on how she wasn't working solo any longer and that she needed to take that into account in her prices.

It was for her rent, shared costs for two people and the costs for important items such as armor, custom-made bullets and for Macca so her work accomplice didn't need to deal with malnutrition. Completely justifiable if you asked her.

So my inspirations are The Queen Mary in Long Island, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, my recent alaskan cruise, Grand Budapest Hotel, and a little bit of The Shining.

The premise is that theres this old ocean liner named The Silver Eclipse that, at the time of her debut, rightfully earned a reputation as nothing short of a floating palace, playing host to only the richest of guests and royalty. Over the years, and after being taken over for the war effort during world war 2, she began to lose that reputation. She never lost the sense of opulence, but the world moved on and she was little more than antique compared to modern luxury ships. She continued to sail, though infrequently and with dwindling numbers of passengers until the time the story takes place. The line she belings to announces their new ship, a ship that will be a modern Silver Eclipse, bigger, newer, with all the modern amenities the Eclipse can't sustain. So, in a final effort to wring a few more bucks out of her, the line holds one final sailing for the Eclipse. The guest list is small, just over 100 people, and they'll be taken on an alaskan cruise through the inner passage, since the newest ship will be too large for the itinerary. Most of the guests are old momey families who are, by now, grasping at every opportunity to remain relevant and seem like they're still prestigious, though in reality they're no different from the eclipse.

The narrator is a beloved reporter from a popular gossip and advice column, who was invited by the cruise line to write a story about her sailing experience, with the hope that she'll get their name into the wider public again and drive up interest in the new ship.

Of course, the Eclipse's age lends her to a whole lot of ghost stories. The reporter doesn't believe in them, but the longer she stays on the ship, and with the cold fog and isolation of the alaskan wilderness around her, its easy to start believing in unnatural things. Something that is all the more true when she starts notocing figures in shadows are watching her around the ship.

Hey, anon! 👋🏻 I’m currently working on editing the fourth chapter today, getting ready to post it. However, I’ve also been taking time to try and sort out what storylines and arcs I think would be best for the layout of this first part, before releasing the chapters. I’ve already, technically, gotten a majority of the first part written out. It’s just hard because there’s so much I want to do with the series, and while I’ve got a lot of fun ideas and chapters written out for later along in the series with lots of my personal faves coming into play, along with storylines I’m super interested in, I also want to make sure I’m not rushing the reader’s trauma simply because I’m excited to explore those characters/situations/and the fun ideas I’ve got.

So don’t worry! I’m definitely planning on updating. Just to let you in on some of the stuff going on on my end, too, I’m also currently moving and getting ready to enter an eight-week intensive workstudy program with my university before going into eight months of work.
