Came back to post this fanart of Blue Jay/Helga from THE BEST fanfic I've read so far, and I've read pleenty, like seriously I've yet to encounter something as incredibly written as this one. I just love that despite already knowing these characters from the show it works as a base to the development of their personalities as teenagers, with Helga as the narrator seeing her grow and improve as a person and hero it's such a treat 💗💗💗

Also I wanna clarify that this is basically a redrawing of this Nightwing panel I found on Pinterest since I love him and couldn't really think of an original pose to give Helga

Yes, I’m fine! Thanks for checking in! Honestly, if I’m ever quiet, these days, it just cause of lack of creativity more then anything. These chapters can really take a lot out of me since they’re obviously so wordy!

When I received this post, I actually picked up the document again and finished the second draft, but unfortunately, that drained me and I had to take another break 😭 I’m unfortunately too much of a perfectionist to drop anything that hasn’t been drafted at least three times! It’s so funny cause whenever I write my drafts, the relationship between Arnold and Helga is still very much platonic. Like, there’s subtext that there could be something more but outright, they’re moreso friends who look out for one another. But whenever I write the actual chapters, it’s wayyyy more romantic and I keep finding ways to squeeze as much Shortaki from their short interactions as possible.

You know, as much as this chapter is going to be difficult, due to how intense the action is, if there's one thing I really, really like about it, even from the outline, it's Helga's emotional growth.

I won't give it away since who knows when I'll be finished with this draft but, this girl does me real proud this chappie.
