i just finished reading your fic a couple of days ago and i wanted to say WOW! those illustrations were AMAZING and the fact you did so many of them for the fic is just. lovely. it was so cool to see them alongside the story, really brought everything to life. i was wondering though, how long did each of those take you to draw? (just in general, ofc)

My general strategy for my fic was to keep a very large backlog. When I uploaded chapter 1, I had already written through chapter 12 and had the rest of the chapters fully planned out. At any point during my weekly uploads I was running off 100% backlog and doing little to no writing, so I had more time to do the art. I did have some illustrations pre-sketched, but for the most part I would start my batch of 2-4 illustrations on the Friday of the previous week's upload, and finish them the Thursday night before that week's upload.

Each one would take at least a couple hours, but I didn't keep very careful count of the time, and it was affected by the complexity of the background. A piece with little to no background would take maybe 1-2, but more complexity meant more hours.

Not going out due to quarantine at the time definitely helped me find the time for all that, haha.
