Ep 8 animation

I'm not giving my opinion on the episode yet since I want to watch it again and really digest everything. But something that started to bother me since the episode started it is difference in animation compared to previous chapters (from season 1) And at first I wasn’t able to point out exactly what it was ...but I think its the line weight.

I tried taking examples where the same character where in similar positions (I was focusing on Vortex) so I could check and. Yes, the line weight its different...

BUT

In some scenes the line weight returns to “normal”. This is particularly the case for the whole Queen Bee song (which its amazing) Still, there is something...off with Vortex here. I think his proportions are off from what we have seen before?

I don't know, something with the animation in this episode seemed off to me. And its not the fact that is “season 1″ quality (as some people in twitter point out) its... something else.

Anyway, I just needed to get it out of my system before trying to process the episode

Still thinking about episode 8

you know... this wasn't the best episode for me, personally. Even if I like Queen Bee and her music number, I have to admit that the lack of plot and the animation inconsistencies (where the “visual spectacle” was supposed to be the main thing) left me a bit disappointed.

BUT that's not what I wanted to comment on.

What I been thinking of is Loona difficulty on fitting in and how is is conveyed trough the episode.

Because we see her embarrass herself when she barged into a conversation with a group of girls she clearly doesn't match with (from their voices, their way of talking, their clothes, etc) ... but that was her only attempt. She does not engage with anyone at Queen Bee performance and its defensive towards her (which is her normal behavior + might be prompted from her first bad interaction at the party). And then she decides to leave, which its understandable. She is not having fun. 

But if she leaves out crying, why it takes 1 hell hound calling her hottie to come back in -like nothing happened- and IMMEDIATELY fit in? Yes Bltiz is there but nothing that he does helps her in any way that is unique to him. If she stayed she could have cheered or mock any other person drinking and easily get comfortable and make new friends.

But that's on plain sight, right? what I been thinking is: Her problem fitting in seems to come from her anger issues and defensiveness which...instead of addressing them, are proceeded to be ignored as everyone simply back down to her. The only one who doesn’t is Queen Bee but she doesn’t tell her anything about it, neither Tex tells her how disrespectful she was to his girlfriend and host.

Like im glad she stopped after realizing how hurt/dissapointed Tex is with her actions and I like how she seems to be having harmless/talking with other hell hounds, but... I would have liked the problem to be addressed and someone (Tex or Queen Bee) call out her bad attitude instead of this. Because this -while good- makes people go “UWU Poor Loonie” and like: Yes, she has trauma and issues to deal with, but I don’t think its fair to other characters to simply take it for her sake.
