In early 2016, they were not talking because she was with Calvin, he his longest hair, new tattoos and had PDA with Kendall on a yacht - so... it missed 1989 by 2 years.

Timeline:

It would have been moved because she was dating Calvin Harris when she wrote it, who was also why they didn't talk:

15 January 2015 Taylor and Harry last seen together at Lily's Aldridges birthday, she was not at his birthday 2 weeks later.

27 February 2015 - Taylor starts dating Calvin Harris.

17 May 2015 - BBMAs with Tayvis PDA and Harry's heart ripped out. Taylor has regretful sounding clean speech in next show.

26 May 2015 - Calvin at vegas pool party, soon after blinds that Calvin is cheating.

22 June 2015 - Taylor tours Europe at the same time as One Direction while Calvin is in the US. Harry posts colour to IG and suggestive tweets the same week Taylor played some Haylor songs and was in the feels with Clean speeches. Taylor posts Breathe in/out (song about getting over ex) and Calvin shows up in UK.

November 2015 Harry got the tiger and eagle tattoos, fresh for:

2 January 2016 He was on a yacht with Kendall in a wild, heavily photographed PDA, complete with long hair & new tattoos.

Calvin was jealous enough of her reaction to Yachtgate that it featured in Ole.

Harry and Taylor together again February - April 29 2016, in May getaway car and she broke up with CH

Noting this post 2015 BBMAs, she had been dating Calvin for 10 months and presumably not spoken to Harry in months.

But, yeah long hair, new Eagle tattoo (icon) visible as he grabbed Kendalls foot on the side of a Megayacht. /sigh It was a different guy to the one she was dating in the Red/1989 Era. Last seen dotingly watch her get her hair cut backstage at Red and giggling as they adopted Olivia.

In Harry's defence - she had a boyfriend of 10 months. What we know now from the original Gorgeous Lyrics is that she and Calvin had not seen each other in months by February 2016 so those pictures would have stung....

At the time Calvin was incredibly jealous of Harry, as detailed in Ole, a friendship seems off the table during that relationship. .

I am a Harry Styles fan. I am not a "girlfriend stan." But when he dates someone, I don't automatically find reasons to hate her, pick her apart, dox her, ridicule her, belittle her, harass/cyberbully her, make up lies about her, talk shit about her appearance, judge her parenting if she's a mom, etc.

My first instinct is to uplift and encourage women. And when I see women being bashed or belittled for no reason, I want to protect them and defend them. I truly don't understand why a woman comes under immediate, intense scrutiny and harassment just because she dates Harry Styles. And I mean that for ANY and EVERYONE he has ever dated.

This fanbase picks women apart like they themselves are perfect, have never done anything wrong, never have put their foot in their mouths or said anything questionable, never had a bad hair day or a bad skin day, never had a wrinkle, a zit, never worn a bad outfit, never made a bad decision, etc.

How can the 1D fanbase be okay with inflicting pain and torment on other people, on women that date Harry? Because that's what constant, everyday bashing is, it's pain and torment. And if you're not bashing them directly, constantly talking shit about them online "empowers" other fans to go directly to their social media and bash them. Why is this fanbase's first instinct to immediately pick apart and HATE someone who dates Harry? I don't get it. Why is that seen as a "normal" thing to do, and if you don't do it, you're a "girlfriend stan?"

I am not a girlfriend stan but a women stan, a compassion-for-other -human beings stan, a stan for fairness, a stan for mental health, a stan for confidence, self-esteem, and uplifting others.

This fanbase tried to destroy Olivia Wilde for absolutely no reason at all. Olivia is only 10 years older than Harry. Harry is not 16 or 18. He's not an inexperienced, vulnerable teen, or a 22-year-old virgin with no life experience. He's well past the age where he can date someone 10 years older and it not be a problem. Why is it okay to age shame Olivia or mom shame Olivia? I know there are Harry fans the same age as Olivia or older who love Harry and have crushes on him. I know there are moms who have crushes on him. So why is it so wrong for him to fall in love with a mom who is older than him? Who in the hell are we in this fanbase to destroy, tear apart, shame, make up stories about, and harass her?

You have no right to pick apart Olivia and talk shit about her at every turn, and then uplift Taylor just because you "like" her and think she's "better" than Olivia. Or because he finally dated someone who "looks like you. (And I say that as a person of color). Do you know why? Because you have no right to judge, or "approve" the people who date Harry. You don't own him. You don't know him. And you don't know the people who date him.

I knew who Olivia Wilde, Kendall Jenner, and Taylor Swift were. But with Camille Rowe and Taylor Russell, I had never heard of them before Harry. But you know what I did when I first saw them with Harry? I smiled because it's nice to see someone I like, Harry Styles, dating someone, because that's what most people want in life, to find love. Not everybody, but most people. I don't stan women he dates, but I sure as fuck don't hate them or talk shit about them. Like I said, my first instinct is to uplift women, see the good in them, etc.

Do you know how abnormal, how freakish it is to start disliking and trashing someone just because they're dating your favorite popstar? You are not a good person if you do this. You are not kind. You are not sweet. You're not cool. You're not funny. You are not a "safe space."

Can you think of how awful you would feel, how traumatized you would be, if you started dating Harry, or someone in the public eye you're attracted to, and all of a sudden you get picked apart in every way possible and cyber bullied? Or a whole different situation, where if you posted something immature or questionable online, or put your foot in your mouth, you're judged or punished for it forever? Why is it okay for you to make mistakes and for people to give you grace, for you to have second chances, but you can't do the same for a stranger who just happens to date Harry Styles?

Don't you know that people have harmed themselves from getting bullied and abused? I'll bet that you'd say you never want to cause that type of pain to anyone, but the first thing you do is pick apart, harass, and shame anyone who dates Harry Styles. Please look deep within yourselves and fix whatever is going on inside of you that makes you do this to his girlfriends, or to any human being for any reason.

Instead of immediately hating on a woman who dates Harry, do you know what you can do? You can leave her the hell alone. Stop talking shit about her. Stop leaving disgusting hate on her social media. I'm going to be very blunt, but you AND me never stood a chance with Harry, not at all. So him having a girlfriend changes nothing.

You know why you bash his girlfriends, right? It's out of pure jealousy. And there's use denying it, because everyone knows it. that's the only reason. Those of you who are enjoying seeing Taylor Russell and Harry together, but who bashed Olivia, Camille, Kendall, and whoever else Harry has dated in the past, you've helped create an environment where it's okay to hate on Taylor. See what you've done?

(And another thing...why is it okay and "allowed" for some of the the 1D men to have girlfriends, get applauded for it, get talked about how cute they are as a couple (for example, Niall and his girlfriend), but Harry and his girlfriends immediately bashed hated on? Why is okay for Niall and say Liam, to want to have a partner, but not Harry? But that's a story for another post, and I'm tired right now).

Whats your opinion on Kendall? I've seen lots of hendall talk. Het fans seem to like her and want them back together. I think she'd be ok? She's from an extremely rich and famous family so she's not desperate for fame. Ske has her own very successful career. She doesn't need harry to help with her modeling. She probably wouldn't be caught dead in his merch. She and Harry go far back so she probably knows about louis so she wouldn't be holding anything over his head as a beard. The relationship is already established so he wouldn't have to go on many pap walks or fake dinners with her and Jeff. Obviously it sucks if he has to date another girl but I don't see any negatives if its her.

I don't like her at all, or any of the Kar-Jenners for that matter. Kendall specifically has a reputation for being extremely rude, mean, fake, condescending, a bully, liar and a downright snob. She looks down on people, treats them as inferior to her and doesn't tip servers at restaurants. She's not a nice person at all.

In addition to all of that, the entire Kar-Jenner family are all masters of PR, it's literally all they do. So regardless of her independent fame or celeb status, she and her team + family do and would milk all the PR they can to their advantage and for maximum money. It's what they always do. All their images are carefully constructed - Kendall just happens to be the one assigned the "goofy, not like other girls, pick me" (but shallow beyond belief) personality one. So....yeah...pass.

Her family is friends with the Azoffs so it's easy publicity, but that's what it always is about for her.

Honey, he has songs linked to anyone he has ever stood next to, come on now 😂 But yeah, I think most songs from HS1 people were trying to associate with Kendall, because she had been his most recent girlfriend. As far as I remember, Only Angel was the one most heavily associated that way.

Not in my opinion. For the most part, people don’t like Kendall because of her behavior as a person completely separate from Harry. She’s just spoiled and entitled and all the things that come with that that people in this fandom tend to hate.

As far as how she treated Harry, I think it was probably one of his better situations in that she was already famous on her own and didn’t use Harry in some over-the-top way to increase her fame. Obviously, she did it both times for her own gain, but it was nothing like Olivia and she never treated him like shit the way Paige did. Personally, she never bothered me because he always looked, at the very least, relaxed around her.

I was reading you 2016 timeline and I'm kinda confused about the kendall situation. How long did Harry ser her after yatchgate? Were they spotted in between yatchgate and Jeff's birthday? Did they end in January? Because Harry tweeted 22 lyrics on his birthday so maybe everything was fine between him and Taylor or he was just trying to get her attention. Either way that'd mean he wasn't with kendall anymore. But then again he had lunch with kendall in April? Were they just friends then? Also did Harry and Taylor meet in February? If they did how did the first conversation go between them after yatchgate?

I have so many questions

Thanks for this ask, TBH I never gave when they broke up much thought. But I think it may have been causal and if dating ended before Jeff's party. She came with her mother, the Azoffs represent both Kendall & Harry separately - she was at Jeffs wedding in 2023, for example.

I have added some of this to the 2016 timeline:

Yachtgate - 31-5 January, then Hendall not seen together until Jeff's birthday

21 January - Harry celebrates his 22nd Birthday in London early, with Nick Grimshaw, a stylist spends the night in his house. Kendall flew from LA to Paris the same day, so could have been there but didn't.

23 January - Kendall and Harry at Jeff's birthday. Kendall is wore a Big o' Fur. They arrived and left separately. (I think Pop Tart is about Kendall). She’s then not with Harry.

24 January - Harry celebrates his 22nd birthday in LA, also early with Glenn (Jeff's wife) and presumably unseen others.

1 February - on Harry's actual birthday he was not seen… He tweeted he was feeling 22 (I’m a day ahead), the next day he went shopping in LA wearing the St Laurent Shirt, which Calvin copied in an IG post and in Ole….

8 April Harry, kid harpoon and Kendall are shopping in LA and e news runs a piece about it that they aren’t dating, no comment from harry but “insiders” and a new season of KUWTK started May 1. The Azoff’s represent them both. Kendall is not seen with harry until September after that:

The 👀 about the 22 and other tweets/later songs is that Harry and Taylor were not seen together between 2015 and 2021, other than one unconfirmed sighting in December that year.

Though there were lots of rumours, but (still) no confirmation other than hints and lyrics. There were blind items she was jealous of Yachgate and Ole indicates the same.
